Reviews of Two Scotts Barbecue
Wonderful customer service. They are very cheerfull, friendly, helpful, kind, and most importantly know their menu! I wanted the brisket, but it is extremely popular and they were sold out! Make sure to get here early so you can get yours! If they are out of brisket I would reccomend the pulled chicken or pulled pork sandwiches. The Mac n cheese and mushrooms sides are nasty don't try them unless you like the taste of MREs
When I taste Two Scotts, I taste comfort. Just picked up some burnt ends, mac&cheese, and coleslaw this afternoon. Delicious! All of it. But the burnt ends were the clear winner of the day. Also, their barbecue sauce slaps! I would highly recommend stopping in if you are on the Westside and have the hunger bug. This establishment will not disappoint you, in any regard.
I'm from Texas, so inherently, I'm a BBQ expert (sarcasm). But for real, Texas has some good meats. Also, Two Scott's has some good meats! I had the burnt ends, as well as pimento mac & cheese. I travel to Grand Rapids for work often... I'll be back to Two Scott's. For sure.
Very good bbq on the West side of Grand Rapids. Pulled chicken was awesome (flavorful, moist, and a nice size serving!) The cornbread muffin and the tater tots with sauce are sooo worth the trip! Bbq sauces are good too.
Mac n cheese and cole slaw were just so so; lacking flavor/seasoning.
Definitely try if you are in the area!
Dining area is small. Most of their traffic seems to be takeout. Excellent bbq meats sold by the half pound or as sandwiches. Their pickles are really good. Try their collard greens! They are for real! Tasty sauces to choose from. They even have white bread for the traditionalists😄😄. Very friendly staff and reasonable prices. Call ahead for big orders since they do sell out on occasion.
I brought my daughter here for lunch. She can be very picky and was happy with her pulled chicken sandwich, which is saying alot. Pretty tasty food and very impressive homemade tater tots. Definitely recommend trying this place if you have not done so yet. It reminds me somewhat of the many BBQ places in Texas.
Hands down absolutely the BEST BBQ in Grand Rapids! I am aware that this is a bold statement, but having been a lover of BBQ my whole adult life, I am confident in my comment. Although as with everything there is always a downside. They are popular! Which means that you have to be there as early as you can because when they run out for the day, it is gone until tomorrow! The staff has always been great and the food as I said is second to none and the prices are very reasonable! If this isn't a reason to make you jump in your car right now I have to ask... Do you even like BBQ? Run, don't walk!
Pretty good food. Tots were awesome. Root beer was phenomenal. Brisket had a good taste, but was a smidge dry. Would like to see kind of a Kansas City sweet and smokey sauce as well. But pretty good experience.
Two Scotts provided catering for my husband's 40th birthday party. We had the brisket, pulled pork, and chicken - we received SO MANY compliments on the delicious food! They were super easy to work with and made it very easy for us! I highly recommend them!
We got the brisket, burnt ends and ribs tips for meat. Mac n cheese, Cole slaw and tater tots for sides. Everything was excellent including the Sauces. Coleslaw could use alittle more sauce/seasoning but still great! Definitely will be back
Two Scotts catered my dads 80th birthday with 50+ attendees. The brisket, chicken, sausage, beans and mac n cheese…all of it was excellent. Compliments from all our guests.
Working with Scott to get the event set up with order and delivery was easy and clear. Thanks Two Scotts.
2 Scott's BBQ is a place to try and experience for yourself.
***** The brisket is the best!
**** Sloppy Scott's is exceptional and no sauce needed; you'll eat half with a fork and the other half with the bun.
**** Pulled Pork is great too.
*** From the pix, I expected it to be a bit bigger inside yet manageable.
** Get there before 12 noon or after 1 as it is busy and you will Wait.
* I think they should provide another sauce station as the Only One at the main counter is not sufficient for a crowded place. Possibly another sauce station at the street front window seats
* I would go back yet Only if I'm in that part of town but not really to go.out of my way to get there.
* Parking is limited so off street is another option.
Recommended foodie place.
Two Scott's BBQ is a great little place to try! Some of the best BBQ around, compared to the other GR BBQ joints around. The taste is just above and beyond the other places in the area.
The brisket is the best when you compliment it with some of the house made Dog Sauce. SO GOOD! The St. Louis Ribs have a crusty flavorable outer skin while the inside meat is tender and juicy. The Pulled Pork and Pulled Chicken is great too.
I personally wasn’t a fan of the Slaw when they make it more vinegar based. It had a pink tint for a while, just not my style. HANDS DOWN I would go with cornbread EVERY TIME. It’s the best cornbread ever.
Get there before 12 noon or you will Wait. There is limited indoor seating so you might be forced to take it to-go in the colder months. Otherwise there is outside patio seating on nice days.
There is a sauce station at the front counter that offers 6 different home made sauce types and flavors. Dog and House sauce are my favorites. The SC Honey Mustard is super good too.
Expect to pay around $16 for the 3 meat combo, comes with two sides, bread, pickles, and a drink. Definitely fills you up!
Excellent brisket sandwich. Had a nice topping of Cole slaw. The brisket chili was completely over the top spicy and tasty!
Just the right amount of options, great flavor, and decent prices.
Tried the special burnt ends chili sandwich. Tons of flavor and everything seemed fresh and well-prepared.
Especially for a small neighborhood spot, this place is great!
Best BBQ in GR. Possibly the best food in GR also. All meats AND sides are perfection. Amazing effort goes into this.
Two Scotts catered our wedding a couple of weeks ago, and it's safe to say that we made an excellent decision! When we first sampled their food, they brought us an absolutely MASSIVE selection of food to try; it was so big that we ended up bringing leftovers home! Our guests RAVED about the food! We are still hearing about how much they loved it! My favorites from our wedding were definitely the brisket, mushrooms, and corn bread...can't forget about that dog sauce either 🤤! The communication leading up to the wedding was great, and both Scotts were wonderful to work with! Thanks guys!
We had an appointment to do a tasting at Two Scott's BBQ to see if we would like to book them as our caterer for our venue. Scott was very kind, very thorough in his explanation of their careering service and food, and was just a fun person to talk to. The food was AMAZING. My fiancé is vegan and we are going to go with a BBQ caterer because of how much he liked the smoked mushrooms, mac n cheese, sauces, cornbread, and potato salad. I am a carnivore, so I like the meats. Everything served was delicious. You cannot go wrong with any of the sauces and you can tell that they are home made. My favorite were the ribs, chicken, and brisket... even though I would be happy with any of the choices as our entrees for our wedding. If you are looking for a yummy BBQ option, enjoy tasty home made food made locally... Two Scott's BBQ is for you!
Lots of great BBQ in our amazing city but Two Scotts is the best! The burnt ends are a barky fatty masterpiece! From burnt ends, to brisket, to amazing pulled pork sammies, coming here is a MUST DO!
Pssssst…. Get there early, stuff sells out, especially burnt ends!
Tried the pulled pork and smoked wings because I forgot to call when they opened and they were out of the brisket and burnt ends but I am so glad we got what we did. Their pulled pork is out of their world and make sure to get all of the sauces! 5 stars easily, I would make it 6 if i could
Ordered 10 pounds of BBQ brisket for a family party. It was fantastic. It’s $25 per pound versus Slow’s $30 per pound, and, in our view, better. Easy to reheat and comes with sauces and pickles. Don’t hesitate!
We have catered Two Scotts BBQ for multiple large work events and let me tell you...There is always nothing left. Scott is amazing to work with and is always super helpful. He also is the one who drops everything off and to me, that is awesome! :) I would recommend this place 10/10 times.
I great food and service I gave them a 4 because they close way too early no one wants bbq for breakfast they should open lunch and dinner time but other than that Perfecto.
First time here today and it was literally heaven in a box 😋🙌🏽 I got House Sauce to go with it but the Pulled Pork and Ribs didn't really even need it. Only suggestion I would make is to include wetnaps. I'll be returning very soon 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 …
We had a summer work event catered by Two Scotts. Scott, himself came and set it up for us. The communication prior to our event was amazing. The food was delicious, we have lefts overs and people at the office are excited to have more. Thank you again Scott for such incredible service! We will be back!

Its a good bbq place, i got the ribs, and they were amazing. Fall kf the bone but not to much falling of the bone perfectly smoked. And i had a pimento mac n cheese it wasnt to my likeing but im glad i tried it. Everyone els i was with liked it. But it was amazing 5 out of 5.
There's a wirey, nasty, red beard hair in my potato salad- hair nets please.
Edit: They responded in a timely manner and took care of me as a customer. Mistakes happen
My boyfriend took me here for our second time. First time dining in. Clean small homey like atmosphere. The guys were very nice and talked to us. But not overly. Which was cool. Delicious barbeque. Not a fan of the coleslaw though. I wonder what the Two Scott's story is?
Catered Two Scotts Barbecue for our 25th anniversary and they provided an excellent experience. The worry most parties have is running out of food but that was no concern with Two Scotts. We actually had food available for some guests to take home after the party, and received many comments on how great the bbq was. Thanks!
Great BBQ, I ordered brisket online and was called immediately that they had already sold out for the day.
Best BBQ in GR. Really nice people. Highly recommend the burnt ends and the Mac & Cheese
First time visiting and I am blown away by the customer service. Food was amazing. And we noticed a steady line of people picking up orders for lunch. Food in photo is polish kielbasa with pimento cheese mac n cheese. BBQ sauces were amazing as well.
I had Two Scott's today for the first time. I've been wanting to try it for so long. I ordered online which was super easy. I went to pick it up and found the place easily. Went in and every employee was so friendly like I've known them for years. The atmosphere was perfection. I was greeted right away. I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with tots. The only sad thing I have to say is that the sandwich didn't have BBQ sauce on it. I was a bit bummed but idk if it was my fault or theirs anyway it didn't really deter me because the sandwich was amazing and the tots were a bit over cooked but also amazing. I'm just a bit picky. I'll be telling everyone I know how amazing Two Scott's is and I'll definitely be back. They also have amazing prices for the quality of the food. I work just down the road so I'm excited to explore more of the menu. ❤
Two Scott's catered our wedding reception, and I can confidently say it was the best wedding food I've ever had. They made the process completely seamless and stress free, and communicated quickly throughout while figuring out the details. 90 guests were fed in no time, and I think we'll be hearing about the meal at family reunions for years to come.
Best pulled pork in town. The sauces are OK. The brisket is hit or miss depending on what you happen to get that day. Definitely just get a pulled pork sammich and slather it in House/hot bbq sauce.
I'm from Texas and I know a little something about BBQ. Two Scott's is legit. Their passion really shines through in their finished product. We loved them so much they catered out wedding back in 2015. You will impressed. That's a fact.
My first experience at this establishment. The man at the counter was pleasant and obviously well versed in their products. We wanted to try a mix of items rib tips, burnt ends and a sandwich (sloppy scotty?). I also grabbed the baked beans, she grabbed homemade tots. I topped it off with a off the tap Root beer.
They offer a wide variety of sauces to top your meat with (I preferred hot).
A quick step out, once our foot was prepared, led us to a seating area or the parking lot to head home with your feast.
We tried to eat there but today was just to darn muggy.
In my opinion the meat was amazingly prepared. Tender and tasty.
Not a big sweet pickle fan but I could see the allure I guess.
The beans were nice and spicy. THAT kind of spicy. Have a drink ready. So good.
Which brings me to my drink choice. Tap root beer. That one got by me too, however my wife enjoyed it. Kinda
So, I asked the counter man if there was anything I should not miss out on, and he said cornbread. I ordered two. I assume that the way I'm served my meal is the way it was intended, therefore seeing them my wife instantly thought they must have been over cooked. I who prefer my food overcooked grabbed one to try and found what I will describe as hot moist. I knew I should be reveling in this treat, but I'm not sure what flavor I was eating. This isn't necessarily a bad thing. I don't venture of my limited food path much. But my wife destroyed them like they threatened our grand children. So, there's that.
I'm gonna give it another go asap.
Support local businesses people we need them
This is the best Kansas City style BBQ I've had since I moved from there 7 years ago. Brisket and burnt ends were amazing. No place but KC can do burnt ends right. The corn bread and tater tots were also really good. The pickles were sweet, which I'm not personally a fan of, but they had a good crunch.
My wife and I catered through Two Scotts for a small wedding this past weekend. Everything was outstanding! The food was good, delivery was on time, and when making changes or additional requests for the order the staff was quick to respond and helped with exactly what we needed. 5 stars without a doubt!
This place is amazing the sliced brisket and burnt ends with the dog sauce is to die for! I HIGHLY recommend if you are even remotely close to this place to give it a try I can almost guarantee you won't be disappointed!!
Excellent bbq, even better tater tots. The verde sauce is my goto. Go early in the day, because they have been known to run out of meat! The prices are kind of high, but you get big portions and are paying them for skills you don't have.
The pulled pork sandwiches were pretty darn good. My roommate enjoyed the South Carolina mustard sauce very much and I went for the house sauce which I also enjoyed. I love that the sandwich is served Memphis style with coleslaw on it. The only reason they got a 4 instead of 5 was the sides. The pimento mac n cheese was a bit bland. And the smoked mushrooms were not enjoyable at all. They tasted like overcooked mushrooms with to much liquid smoke poured into call them "smoked". 2 bites and they went in the can. I will definitely be back in the future for a good sandwich but will probably pass on any more sides.
Quickly becoming a Westside staple. Absolutely hands-down the best BBQ I've had in town. Everything is made from scratch, and ingredients are sourced from farmers and bakeries around the state. Super-friendly staff. I love 'em so much I had them cater my wedding. Highly recommend them for catering events, too! They did an amazing job. Everyone kept talking about how tasty it all was. Check 'em out if you haven't already!
If you’re from the south then you know how hard it is to find good barbecue in the Midwest and Two Scott’s is authentic southern barbecue. The sides are also amazing, the best tater tots I’ve ever had anywhere. It’s on the expensive side but it stays 5 stars because you’re going to pay more for real delicious food. The fake meat patty McRib is $4.50, yea this is going to cost $8 for a 1/2 lb. of real barbecue.
Two Scott's BBQ catered our wedding on 9/1/19, and it was EXCELLENT! They were so easy to work with, honest, and professional. Everything was set up ahead of time, looked great, and the service was awesome. I can't recommend them highly enough for their catering services but also for the sheer quality of their food.
My favorite BBQ spot in GR. It's the real deal. No corners cut. Burnt ends and cornbread muffins are a must
Two Scotts was the perfect choice to cater for our wedding! They were friendly and professional, and the food was absolutely delicious! The planning portion was incredibly easy, despite living 3 states away and trying to plan a wedding in the middle of a pandemic. All in all, we couldn’t be happier with our experience with Two Scotts for our big day!
Good food and nicely priced. The sandwiches felt like they were missing something but can't put my finger on it. We did go later in the day so they were out of burnt ends, I would suggest getting there early. The bbq sauces were not to my liking, either to spicy or to much of a mustard taste for me. Au jus was bland needed something to add flavor.
Two Scotts catered my wedding a year ago and I can't say enough about the job they did. Everyone raved about the food and they provided great service above and beyond what they offered (including refilling the salad and drinks which we opted to provide ourselves). I unfortunately do not live in Grand Rapids anymore, but I did have a chance to visit them again last weekend. The meat was still amazing with the added benefit of new sides on the menu. For my money, their kielbasa and tater tots are the best in the business. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a great lunch or terrific catering services. The food is fantastic and they seem like genuinely nice guys who love what they do.
Awesome food, great service. We had 2 Scotts cater our wedding and they went above and beyond.
They helped provide a meal for a guest who is vegetarian and gluten free, they provided a free tasting of everything on the menu, they responded quickly to emails, had storage containers for leftover food, and were great with our guests!
Our friends are still raving about the mac and cheese months later. And we've gone back since the wedding to get more.
P.S. the smoked mushrooms are not to be missed, even if you don't like mushrooms!
Some really good pulled pork, best I ever had. Also they have all the sauces and sides so you can pick your perfect lunch order.
They were amazing as a caterer and just as amazing fresh at the shop!
We have been fans since the beginning! So when we were planning our sons first birthday party, we couldn’t think of a better place to cater.
The catering menu was easy to read, and the selections were great. We ended up finding some thing that everyone could enjoy, and even had some extra. No complaints from us. The only thing I would add to the catering menu, is the tater tot’s, because they are absolutely amazing. So if you ever get to The catering menu was easy to read, and the selections were great. I went into this small shack and order the Scotts #3 which consists of 3 meats, 2 sides, pickles, bread, and a drink. I chose the burnt ends, brisket, and ribs. For sides I had the slaw, but returned them. They were somewhat flavorful, but dry as all get out. I did replace them with the beans, but I wasn't a fan. The tater tots were excellent. I've never had them homemade like that. It changed my view on potatoes. Needless to say, the burnt ends were AMAZING!!! I would recommend that over everything. The ribs and brisket slice was really good, but the burnt ends take the cake. The dog sauce compliments the burnt ends very well, but you're not gonna' need it. If you can make it while they're open, take my word. I'm definitely going back!
Excellent food!! Only problem is unless you call in an order you will wait 20 min plus sometimes. Is it worth it. YES, yes it is, my pulled pork sandwich and tater tots where delicious and the people where very friendly. Sometimes the wait is worth the reward an this place is a west side gem!
Better get there early or they'll be out of your favorite stuff. It's worth the early lunch though. Great meats and sides. My favorites are the burnt tips and the pimento Mac n cheese. No matter your BBQ preferences, two Scott's doesn't disappoint.
We had Two Scotts cater our wedding reception and it went perfectly. The price was great, they delivered right on time, and the food was fantastic - we got tons of compliments from our guests. Would definitely recommend for any wedding, party, or gathering.
Best BBQ in GR! First off, there is always parking either right at their place or near by. The staff is very friendly and helpful, the food is simply amazing. Their St. Louis ribs and Burnt Ends will make you cry in happiness. Sauces are delicious, make sure to try them all. And once you feel like having a beer or a mixed drink, Mitten Brewery and Long Road are great places right across the road.
We got a platter with a little bit of everything. It was all delicious, especially for being BBQ in Grand Rapids, MI. Not a city known for its amazing BBQ. The owner was really friendly and the place is a great little shop. Most of the seating is at a counter against the outer windows. There's only seating for maybe a dozen people.
The only thing I wouldn't recommend is the burnt ends. I'm used to Kansas City burnt ends and Two Scotts' were very fatty by comparison. The flavor was good, but the fatty texture was not.
Although parking can be an issue, we decided on this beautiful fall day that eating outdoors at Two Scotts BBQ was gonna be great, and it didn't fail us at all. I had the rib tips meat combo with the homemade tots and sweet iced tea. The meat was delicious and plentiful. The tots were crispy and tasted great. And the sweet tea "almost" measured up to what I'm used to drinking when I visit my family in SC.
Two Scott’s BBQ catered my wedding 2 weeks ago and they were so wonderful! We had so many comments on how good the food was and they were very responsive to any questions we had during the planning process. Great prices and friendly staff as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone!
I give Two Scott's Two Thumbs up and Five Stars. The food is always consistent and delicious. The beans ROCK! Mac and Cheese yummy.
This is a lunch place 11-3 check hours before you go. Enjoy!
We tried Two Scott's BBQ for the first time today. We were very pleasantly surprised. Very unassuming exterior goes a local gem within.
The St Louis ribs were to die for, meat falling off the bone. The smoked, blackened brisket melted in your mouth. Pulled pork was tasty as were the chicken wings.
Sides can include brisket baked beans, Cole slaw, mac n cheese. I'd recommend the smoked mushrooms.
Canned soda is available; however, you'd not forgive yourself if you didn't try the craft draft root beer or creme soda.
We will certainly return. Grand Rapids has so few BBQ choices. This is the best of All.
Amazing food and staff. Everyone had such a good attitude and was so helpful. This is one of those places where there isn’t a bad thing on the menu. 6 stars!
I've been tried BBQ in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Tennessee, and I'll be honest (seriously) nothing beats Two guys name Scott who decided to cook amazing food for their community. Nothing!
This is hands down my favorite BBQ in GR. Whwn friends and family come to town, we go to Two Scotts. We even had them cater our wedding last year. They have great food and wonderful service. Their patio is really nice in the summer and while seating is limited inside, you can also order to go!
Fantastic food! I got the #3 which I picked pulled pork, brisket, and ribs. All were delicious, but I regretted not getting a whole order of ribs. They fell of the bone and had excellent flavor. I'm very picky about ribs, but these passed the test! Cornbread was very moist, however skip the coleslaw. Overall, I was very pleased and will come again next time in GR!
Love Two Scott's, best BBQ in town. Go early during lunch, sometimes they run out of the good stuff. Try the burnt ends and brisket. The smooked mushrooms are fantastic and the house made tater tots are icing on the cake. Have been here about a dozen time and will continue going back. Thanks Two Scott's! You can tell they really care about their food. Highly recommend.
It was my first time there. The collards were soft, Mac and cheese, perfect and the burnt ends, to die for in the house sauce.
My favorite BBQ in Grand Rapids.
The outside area was surprisingly comfortable. You forget your on Lenoard St.
The burnt ends are to die for. Their ribs don't even need sauce. I love the bark their able to out on the ribs.
Their sides are great too.
This place never lets me down. Best bbq in Grand Rapids!
We used Two Scotts for our wedding it was the best experience! Everything from the tasting to the actual day of. In fact, I think our food at our wedding was even better than the tasting! Our guests loved it too!
First time I went at 1pm and they were already out of brisket, it also took around 15-20 minutes to get my order after paying. I arrived earlier the next time to get brisket, portion sizes are maybe a bit small and meat is a bit dry. I'm glad I tried it but I'm probably not going back, at least for a good while
As owners of River Edge Bed & Breakfast and Gathering Place, we would like to compliment Two Scotts for the fantastic food and service they provided one of our recent weddings. Their menu is simple, and these guys are dedicated and efficient at what they do.
If you like all things smoked or BBQ, look no further. They will be added to our preferred caterer's list soon!
Bill and Brenda Schreur
Always excellent food, some of the best BBQ in West Michigan. Love the brisket.
Better get here early because they sell out of the best meats early.
Great rootbeer floats for the kids or the kid at heart.
Love this place! Wish they had a restaurant in kalamazoo where i live. Best BBQ I've had the meat has a nice smoky flavor and there homemade sauce just tops it off! Friendly service and clean environment. Its nice they have a deck with tables on a nice summer day. Would recomend there ribs and there sides are all delicious!
It’s an amazing little gem of a place. Best BBQ in Grand Rapids. Get the brisket. Get there early.
Great food and service! Our company will order for lunch, any time I've gone to help with pickup cashiers and cooks are super friendly. Food is great, the building is a bit small, but it's fantastic for ordering ahead and taking it out.
This is absolutely my favorite barbecue place! Their food is always delicious! I highly recommend their burnt ends and love the mac and cheese!
I'm proud to say that we were the first customers at the Grand Opening. And, as much as that makes me happy, it makes me more pleased still that we had excellent BBQ! The brisket and kielbasa were top notch! And the sauces.... And the sides... Thanks to both of the Scotts, and to their staff, for a great first impression! We will be back soon!
If you like barbecue this is the spot. Brisket is always a good choice. Sauces are great. I never ordered something that wasn't on point. Seating is very limited.
Very expensive. The only thing I liked was their burned ends.
2/12/18 Edit - their burned ends are still delicious. I'm not sure why their briskets were so dry the first time I had them, but they were nice and juicy the second time around. The collard greens are also very tasty.
Sloppy Scott with dog sauce 😋 …
6/4/2021 update: Two Scotts continues to knock it outta the park with consistent quality and value featuring great meats, sauces and sides. Try the brisket, ribs, unique verde sauce, pimento mac & cheese, smoked mushrooms, cornbread and seasonal sides - even the pickles and white bread are good! Go early...
Great barbecue. The burnt ends are amazing! Lots of Grand Rapids and Michigan based ingredients. A tad pricey. Busy place so get there early. Best to eat outside as the inside is cramped for space.
After all the rave reviews we were disappointed.
Food was average and I had a real issue with the "burnt ends"....
which consisted of cubes of tender, fatty meat with little if any charred parts! Then it's like they just slathered on some bbq sauce. Dear Two Scotts burnt ends need to have crisy edges, not cubes of tender meat! Total fail! Plus we ordered 3 other meats and all average. Sides were pretty good.
Sorry, friendly service is all I can give you.
The food here is ridiculously good. I had the brisket sandwich, which came with pickels and coleslaw for $10 I made that a combo with pimento Mac and cheese and a Coke for $3 more. The brisket was so 'effing tender and delicious with the house bbq sauce, I just can't even. The pimento Mac was on point as well, soft and creamy. Just a minor detail, but it's shells and not macaroni noodles.
Had the brisket, sausage, ribs and pulled pork. The ribs were great, they had a good bite but still pulled off the bone, maybe just a little dry, but they were well seasoned. The sausages were alright, but them being smoked adds a little more flavor. Pork was good also, didn't need sauce or any salt. Brisket was ok, the bark wasnt bland, but didn't stand out. The Carolina mustard was my preferred sauce, my son enjoyed the dog sauce on everything, and the house sauce worked for everyone. Tried the Verde sauce, but it was a little on the "green" side if youre used to the Mexican salsas with the tomatillos roasted. Will return again.
Possibly the best BBQ I have ever had.
Bonus: the staff was incredibly friendly.
Stopped in with my mother when she placed an order ahead, had the combo of three meats, two sides, and a drink. The sauces were delicious, and there was a dog sauce made of horseradish and mayo as well as a SC mustard. The meats were all top notch and the ribs my mother ordered ahead were some of the best dry rub ribs I've ever had. One simple tip: order ahead and early to enjoy things that run out halfway through their four hour open period!
Extremely extensive BBQ MENU! We ordered Scotts Combo with 3 meats(we chose pulled pork, smoked sausage, & BBQ brisket), 2 sides (pimento mac&cheese, & brisket chili), bread, & a bev. We also got smoked mushrooms plus another bev. There was SO much food we couldn't eat it all & it was meant for 1 person! And we are big eaters! Everything was so flavorful! There are some fabulous sauces that are available that also accompany all the different meats that are available! You are greeted by very friendly guys as soon as you walk in & the wonderful customer service never ends until you walk out the door! The place is spotless, from the service counter to the tables & floors! I recommend this place for dining in, take out, or any catering event you can come up with where you need out of this world Authentic BBQ & Great Service
I am a frequent customer since the meat is amazing. The brisket is some of the best I've ever had. A Grand Rapids must try!
Watch out for the open time though. They're not open much through the day.
The atmosphere here is very well thought out. It is a small build, but designed exceptionally well. Even when busy the line flows very well. There is 3 two people tables and seats for another 6-7 people in front. There is additional seating outside for 20 people.
I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with palmetto Mac n Cheese, baked beans, and coleslaw. The Pulled Pork was exceptionally good as was the bun it was on. The Mac n Cheese was ok, nothing to write home about. The Baked Beans were bad, almost uneatable! The Coleslaw was almost as bad as the baked beans. The bbq sauce was a vinegar base and pretty good. The Dog Sauce, a sweet mustard and mayo mix, is excellent.
The service was very well organized!
Overall I give them 3 1/2 stars. If not for the bad sides this place could be 5 stars. However to me the sides are just as important. Therefore with rounding the review is an average 3 stars. Would I return? Yes just for the meat. LOL I've said no to 4 stars, but yes to a 3. So far my G.R BBQ Iist is: 1. Pit Stop 2. Slow's 3. Daddy Pete's 4. Two Scott's!
Sorry no photos!
For their third day open it was very good food. By the end of the summer Two Scotts will be a really good bbq place. The kitchen staff were obviously new to working with each other, but once a nice rhythm falls into place they will put out some really high quality food. The pulled pork was tender and juicy enough, but under salted, and the same goes for the slaw. The tots were well constructed, held together, and were still crsipy despite being somewhat room temperature upon receiving them. I'm going back soon.
Great meat, excellent sauces, very tasty. Sides were a bit bland for my liking, but still one of the best BBQ joints in town. Disappointed that they're not open for dinner.
Great roadside atmosphere.
Brisket sold out, and pulled pork a tad dry by 1:00p. So, get there early for the best options.
The food is amazing! Anyone who says the food is mediocre doesn't know what they're talking about. For food like this, you're going to pay a bit more, but it's worth every penny. I highly recommend this place. The customer service is equally impressive. Very happy with Two Scotts!
Love the pulled chicken and corn bread muffins. Their pickles are probably my favorite thing though! Staff is always friendly and food is relatively quick. Great to stop in for a quick lunch.
There BBQ pulled pork sandwiches are pretty great. Their sauce is also very well made. Their potato salids however are the most horrific thing I've ever seen. Terrible. Like an afterthought, its smushed into a tiny plastic cup. So if you like good BBQ you'll be in a great spot, no good salids for the plant lovers though sadly.
Too pricey compared to other BBQ joints. Great tasting brisket (if you get it in time) and the sauces are phenomenal... But the value isn't there. The Pit Stop trumps with spades.
good food great service- burnt ends and rib tips are incredible….
Love this place. Great BBQ friendly staff and I don’t think I’ve had to wait more than 10 minutes In midst of lunch rush. not much room to eat indoors But if the weather is right guy the outdoor patio is perfect.
Great food! Where else in Michigan can you get burnt ends??? Really nice staff that gets you in and out quickly with tasty and quality food! I drive 2.5 hours from northern Michigan about every month or so just to eat there!!
This place is a little out of my way but it’s well worth it! It’s def my favorite BBQ spot in Grand Rapids. Very friendly staff and supper fresh food. Keep it up !
Love the brisket and burnt ends, and homemade tater tots. You have to get there early because they often sell out by 1:00 or so. The staff is friendly, about a 5-10 minute wait for the food.
One of the best BBQ in Grand Rapids. Staff are polite and friendly!
Two Scotts recently catered our wedding and did a fantastic job, especially trying new serving techniques during COVID. They have been so cooperative and kind and the food is AMAZING!
Got lunch for our shop, typically we go to a close BBQ spot on the SE end of town but this is our new favorite!
Best BBQ in town. Fast/friendly service, great sauce selection, love the pulled pork, brisket, burnt ends and baked beans! Two Scott's is my go-to when I am in the mood for BBQ, which is always.
This is phenomenal BBQ! This place has a line outside the door and great outdoor seating arrangements. They use rubs and sauces, so you can have the best of both BBQ worlds.
If you been here you know why Im rating it 5 stars. Its a family owned bussiness I believe? Super expensive but totally worth the amazing quality and speed. Delicious flavors along with THE BEST root beer Ive ever tasted in my life.
Its definitely a treat because their hours suck but I guess you can pick hours like that when you're that gpod of a resturant.
I have loved everything I have tried here. We catered it today for the office. Wow. Amazing. We had the Pulled pork, rib tips, sausage, brisket, and burnt ends with beans and mac and cheese. Everything was phenomenal. Major hats off to these guys for doing some killer bbq!
The Mushroom "burger" will bring me back. Vegan Mac'n cheese is also amazing. I plan on buying a whole bottle of BBQ sauce next I go in. 10000% WORTH IT!
Excellent quality meat, great sauces and seasoning, the staff has a great sense of humor. All around excellent place to grab a bite. I would definitely use them to cater, too.
Great service and even better food! The Rib Tips and Pulled Pork were both phenomenal! To wash it all down was some excellent draft Root beer. Will definitely be back.
Great burnt tips and brisket! Good service. Small location so it gets full fast at lunchtime. Prices are a tad high for a normal lunch, hard to leave without spending $15 but other than that no complaints.
Our favorite BBQ spot in West Michigan, burnt ends are a must. The house and the dog sauce are my favorite. Only open from 11 to 3, come early if you want brisket or burnt ends. A must-try!
Best BBQ in Grand Rapids! Love the St. Louis ribs & Brisket. A few places to sit inside & out. Afterward go to The Mitten across the street for a beer.
Hands down my favorite bbq!! Love the burnt ends and the pulled pork!! The building used to be my (husbands) uncles root beer stand so it’s sentimental to our family too!
Best barbeque in GR. Beats out Slows by at least a dozen miles. Their house barbeque sauce is so good I would put it on almost everything. Has become a new favorite!
We love their food any day, but choosing them for our catering was EXACTLY the right choice.
Love what they do, and love to work with them.
Would absolutely recommend for catering and event, or just stopping by for good food.
Best brisket in GR. Burnt ends are great. They do a really good job. I think Slow's has better sauce but Two Scotts has the best meat.
Great food, great friendly staff. Seating is pretty limited inside, and sides seem to sell out quickly. I will be back.
Food is amazing some of the best bbq u can get in town frendly staff onley complaint need a sign up to tell people to step back from window or food staging area until your order is up it turn into a logistical nightmare and people taking wrong order happen to me sugestion have a ticket number system must have it to rec your food it's not the staff it's people with no common sense to step back from counter. Its not a McDonalds food is worth the wait
legit old fashion BBQ brisket. not too smokey, nice tender melt in your mouth flavor. coleslaw is decent too. will be back.
Best barbecue in the area. Awesome staff and a wide selection. The ribs and chili are by far my favorite picks but the chicken is also fantastic. Highly recommended
Great experience using Two Scott’s for our wedding catering. The food was fantastic and the team was very helpful. Highly recommended! Try the verde sauce!
Best BBQ in town. Their verde sauce is amazing. Everything I tried, I loved. The staff is friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is welcoming. 10/10 will reccomend and revisit.
Best barbecue in town. Worth the wait and the parking struggle.
Quiet. Comfortable. Clean. Excellent breakfast that includes waffles, sausage, scrambled eggs and more.
Best BBQ on from downtown north. You may want to check the website as their hours vary by season. Slows barbecue downtown has nothing Two Scott’s!
Great BBQ. The brisket is solid. The homemade sauces are very good. The sides are all pretty good and there are a few options.
Worth traveling and trying. Ribs were so delicious and smoked to perfection. Everything I've tried has been stellar as far as the meats. The sides are decent but the meats are to die for.
Four West Michigan barbecue joints in 1.5hrs for lunch. That was my goal, and mission accomplished! First off, there's only 2 things I cared about: brisket and sausage; both the most difficult thing and easiest thing to cook, respectively. Two Scotts was first on the agenda and came in last place. The brisket was somewhat juicy but completely lacking in flavor on both the rub and smoke fronts. The meat faired pretty well in the pull test, but could have been more tender.
A significant problem was the lack of any serious bark on my slices. In fact, 3/4 of my portion had no bark at all - just the exposed fat cap layer that, quite frankly, wasn't rendered down nearly enough. The lack of bark is indicative of three things: 1. Not enough rub, 2. not enough evenly distributed rub and, 3. pulled too soon. I'll get to that in a minute. The brisket that the slicer had on the slab certainly had some bark, but for large sections the fat cap was plainly visible. Smoke flavor was practically non-existant which left the overall flavor somewhere around pot roast. Bark on every single slice of brisket, whether from the lean or moist end, is par for the course and criminal behavior when missing.
The lack of all-over bark, bark that is a bit of a wet mess, and meat that is just shy of really tender usually point to one thing: It's being pulled too soon and/or isn't being rested long enough. I'd say maybe both. The key to that elusive sugar cookie bark is low and slow. That bark has got to be nearly black when you pull it. If not, you're just fartin around. Whether it's pulled and then wrapped, then placed back on for more hours, then pulled and rested - is neither here nor there for great bark.
The sausage, however, was delicious but did taste more grilled than smoked.
Everyone in this place was cool and are clearly busting their butts. I wish them success but can't urge them enough to leave that brisket in the smoker for a longer period of time until the bark is black, pull and wrap with butcher paper, and stick it back on until you get that precious jello wiggle. Then rest for hours, lol. Best of luck guys!
1st place: Dallas Deli, Grandville
2nd place: Slows Bar BQ, Grand Rapids
3rd place: Horseshoe Smokehouse, Grand Rapids
4th place: Two Scotts, Grand Rapids
The best bbq in town. Get there around brunch to get the brisket, it's typically sold out later in the day.
Two Scotts has some of the best BBQ in the state. Service is always great and prices are reasonable. Demand is high so order ahead if you can
It's so great to see Scott and Scott living out thier dream right there in front of you. Dishing up tasty meats and treats while interacting with customers. Great food, simply done and delivered on every time.
The food is good, but overrated. It's not bad or anything, but hardly the best BBQ in Grand Rapids. Price are very high compared to other BBQ places in town.
Excellent service and food everytime. My favorite BBQ place. Burnt ends and a sliced brisket with corn bread is wonderful!
Their food is delicious! Good portion for the the money that you spend and the service is quick. Would reccomend getting there early as their best stuff tends to run out before they close!
1st time there this afternoon. It is a small place with a BIG Taste. You should try this place!!
Some of the best brisket I have had. Definitely a staple of Grand Rapids. You guys are amazing!
The beef brisket was good but the burnt ends had to much fat otherwise it was good. But better than slows bbq I don't think so.
These guys catered my wedding and they killed it! Had so many comments on how good the food was, and Scott was helpful throughout the process. The restaurant is also very good.
Damn!!!!!!! This is the business. Those burnt ends and the ribs, without sauce, is the bomb. No sauce is the best way to show true bbq. Two Scott's hit a grand slam. The rub is sooo good. Its all about the rub!!!! I'm not against sauce but I'd prefer it to be on the side. Don't forget those pickles. Fi e stars baby.... Welcome to the Gun Ru Scott's.
BBQ ribs were very tendelisous. Will definitely go back.
Delicious ribs! Highly recommend. Meat so tender, you barely need to chew it. BBQ sauce is amazing, too!
Really good. Love their brisket, burnt ends, and potato bites. They have cream soda on tap! Yumm..
Best barbecue I’ve had in the GR area. Pulled pork was fantastic and sauces were 🔥 …
Great food. I love the pick 3 combo. Pulled pork, sausage and brisket. With the amazing baked beans and a cheddar biscuit.
Brought my family. Very tasty food. A touch pricey. No place for us to sit. Very tiny. I would definitely return but not with a group.
Please tell me... I just saw a sign at the old Above and Beyond Catering located behind the Shell at Fuller and Knapp. This sign said, "Two Scott's BBQ coming soon". So are you guys moving or are you opening a 2nd location?
Went once it was just OK. Thought I'd give it a second chance and went back. This place is overrated and bragged about by people who wouldn't know good BBQ if it hit them in the face.
Best bbq around, hands down. If they had more hours that they were open, they wouldn't be able to keep up with a dinner rush.
This is hands down the best BBQ in Grand Rapids. Sides are amazing, service is kind and funny, delicious.
Really good spot on the northwest side. The meat is on point, good flavor. Fun to eat there too.
The burnt ends were to die for, the smoked mushrooms are off the hook delicious, you can taste the smokey wood, sorry I didn't take a pic, I was to busy enjoying the food, don't forget to have it with the draft root beer, so good!!! My hats off to Two Scotts
I live in Texas now, and I’ve had barbecue from so many places—this place is the best.
Best BBQ place in GR!!! Food is always amazing and service is always top notch.
The pulled pork was excellent and the service was friendly. If we lived nearby, we'd be regulars.
Best Texas and St Louis style BBQ in MI. Uses mostly Local grown, produced and raised products.
The first proper barbecue joint in GR! Excellent Brisket, Ribs, and Pulled Pork. Very reasonable too.
Two Scotts has amazing BBQ! Their burnt ends are the best. Lots of options, and friendly staff.
Excellent barbecue. My only fault is the same fault I've got with any good barbecue place and that's that they're not super cheap.
Awsome pork sandwich, hot bbq sauce and the pickled onions were great as well. Nice staff, clean restaurant
The brisket was excellent. Three of us had brisket and one had ribs. I was told the ribs were really good too.
Two words: Burnt Ends.
The burnt ends are as good as you'll find in Kansas City and certainly the best in Grand Rapids.
Decent food. Portions are TERRIBLE. I got the scotts 3 meat combo for $16 and about fell out of my chair when I saw what was inside the box.
The ONLY thing I don't like about this place is the lack of seating. They have outdoor seating in the summer but it gets really packed inside otherwise. Still giving it 5 stars
Excellent Food! But if you suffer from claustrophobia don't go it is tiny place.
Try the their root beer float!
Received a recommendation to eat here when in town and it did not dissapoint. The burnt ends were prepared to perfection and the sauces were amazing!
Great food, fun atmosphere. Burnt ends and brisket are favorites. Everything is delicious.
Very good brisket. Can't speak for the other meats since I didn't try them. Will be back though!
This is by far the best barbecue in Grand Rapids. It's amazing.
YUM! Burnt ends...who knew? The tender, smokey, juicy bits are so worth the drive. Never disappointed with Two Scotts! #DivaApproved
Tiny place... BIG Flavors!! Great BBQ. Excellent selection of foods. Reasonably priced. Waaaay better cornbread then Slow's.
Everything I tried was excellent although I thought the burnt ends were the best. Great service. Tiny place. Fantastic eats!
It had been a little while since I've been there still great food and wonderful service...... Will be going back every time I'm in that neighborhood
Great food great people regular restaurant for me...
THE BEST. HANDS DOWN. I wish they had more expansive hours, but I'm not mad.
I drive 50 miles just to go here. Awesome BBQ, highly recommend the burnt ends!
Absolutely delicious. The Burnt Ends are amazing and I highly recommend the #3 which is big enough to split with another person.
Excellent food! Obviously the burnt ends are incredible, but the whole menu is delicious.
Amazing. Their food says it all
Best barbecue in town. Don't order the burnt ends, so that there might be some left by the time I make it there
Not a bad thing on the menu, best BBQ you'll find in West Michigan by far.
Best BBQ in Gran Rapids! Everyone should try the BBQ here. The burnt ends are the best!
Excellent experience every time I go, even when I arrive late and the meat I am looking for is already sold out. I live this place!!!
One of the better barbecue places in the area, pretty good prices for the amount of food you get.
Great food great root beer goo price!! Best BBQ I've had yet!!
The Sloppy Scotty is an absolute must! Try all of the sauces, they're delicious!

Must try two Scott's. I had brisket and it was wonderful. I will be back to try more.
I've had all the local BBQ joints and this one is my favorite. Get the brisket and burnt ends.
Definitely comparable to the great bbq we had in the Southwest. So happy we found this place!
I love the food!!! Burnt ends are on point!
A very homemade aesthetic. Barbecue was definitely above average and service was genuine and friendly
Tasty barbeque, great sauces, great sides and delicious draft root beer
Great food, very reasonable prices!
Really good bbq. Tots are fire. The mustard sauce is the best around.
Burnt ends are the best in GR. Cornbread muffins also the best
I had the burnt ends... Oh my gosh are they good! I love it. Totally awesome. These guys got it going on.
Always delicious BBQ! The burned ends are outstanding!
Carolina mustard was nice on the kielbasa, shrooms were good, neat little place.
Killer brisket sandwich, it will make your day, or at least your lunch hour! Definitely try the house sauce
Excellent food....loved the cornbread.
Not much BBQ in Grand Rapids, but this place and Slow's are both really solid.
We loved it! Great BBQ and Faygo pop too! What is not to love?
Is great place to eat, we went to Michigan to see our friend so they took us there!
Meat is great, staff is awesome, and really just the embodiment of the revitalization of the Westside. Love it.
Best corn bread I've ever had! Everything else is great too!
Wife and I think it's the best BBQ around. Keep up the great work
Busy lunch - great menu options! Delicious sides & bbq!
Good food.. I recommend the shredded chicken with the house bbq sauce.
Excellent BBQ.
This place is small but tasty! Well worth the money and the “plates” are neat.
Some of the best barbecue if not the best barbecue in Grand Rapids.
The food was amazing and the guys are super friendly and they work hard to get to know their customers.
Withiut a doubt some of the best BBQ in Grand Rapids and the tots are killer!
Sometimes use an already finished wing as a spoon for the sauces
Really good food not open too long but worth it
..my Scottish friend Bob and I went here I know the girl on the cash register thought he was faking his accent until he opened his mouth ...lol thanks for the great food he approves
Pulled chicken sandwich is really great. Even better on their patio in the sun.
The burnt ends are out of this world!
Amazing BBQ! I always get tots as my sides (both of my sides if I get two 😉) …
Delicious, simply fantastic joint. I will never not get their cornbread.
Food was amazing. Super busy place. Will definitely be back.
Amazing bbq. Their tots are awesome too. Try them!!
So gosh darn good! Southern cooking brought to the Westside!!
Tasty, authentic experience. Try the mac and cheese, you won't be disappointed!
Everything I had there was great from the brisket & the chicken to the cornbread
Excellent barbq as well as nice moist meats with good flavor
Pretty good. I only tried the wings once. They were bad. Good burnt ends.
Great food!! Brisket chilli is fantastic! Good people.
Run out of food faster than I'd like, but quality is very good and worth a try.
Decent BBQ. Small seating area, mostly for take out and small parties.
Wow....LOVED it, just go and try it 😋!!
Slightly pricier than I expected, but worth it. The food and customer service was great
Stellar. As a barbecue enthusiast, i think these guys might be the best in town.
Best BBQ. As good as Moes in Orange Beach AL.
Best brisket, wings, burnt ends, and baked beans in West Michigan.
Good food but not as good place to enjoy it. Very limited seating
Aaaaaaaamazing food, unfortunately they don't really allow for call ahead large orders.

I really like this place. Small, perfect menu, delicious smoked meats, a variety of homemade sauces, and yummy sides. Great place to grab barbeque for lunch or a pound of meat for dinner. The thing that makes this BBQ better than the rest in the area is their amazing sauces. Every one is better than the last, no matter what order you have them in.
