Spontaneous Dinner Decision turned into a very good food experience. The service was nice, even if it took some time till we got served. We got the gyro with fries and it was a good choice. Being from Germany I’m used to the way of choosing the different toppings for the Gyros, and I really liked it. The portions are big, all vegetables super fresh, the seasoning of all elements on point and I want to emphasize: the fries were amazingly crisp and seasoned. The bill was lower than expected, so it was a really good dinner choice overall. Just the interior of the restaurant could be easily upgraded - but I don’t think that most of the customers are eating in.

Small place, needs a bit updating. Very friendly staff. Food was good tasting, fresh and cooked right in front of you - choose your own toppings for a custom flavor. Price was fair For the portion sizes - I got the chicago gyro and my husband the chicken shish- lots of flavor. Will be back for more.

One of the best (if not THE best) places to get a gyro in Grand Rapids. The owners are super friendly and always have a smile on their face. The southside gyro is my go to and it is always made fresh. Being able to choose the toppings for the gyros is nice to have as well. You should order the gyro's as a combo, because the fries are SO good. They put the best seasoning on them. Also, the baklava is a nice, sweet way to end lunch :) I can not recommend this place enough. Definitely give this place a try!

Nice little restaurant serving mediterranean style fast food. Interesting take on selecting your own toppings for your sandwiches/gyros/Wraps. When we called we were told the lamb/beef is Halal only. The food we ordered was tasty and fulfilling. The fries were delicious as well with special seasoning. The parking is located in the lot on the side of the building. All Covid protocols are being take into consideration. The owner is hard working and provides great customer service. It would be wonderful if there is a mention of halal Items on the menu to avoid any confusion for customers.

Been eating her since they opened and I love their food, always delicious and freshly made, staff is always friendly and courteous with a nice atmosphere. I'll be eating gyros with onion rings (extra seasoning) and a refreshing cold tea as long as they are open!

While visiting GR, my husband and I stopped by at this restaurant. The parking is on the left hand side of the restaurant. Their gyro was delicious and highly recommend it! The lamb sandwich was an interesting flavor combination of Mediterranean food and American style sub sandwiches. The owner is so down to earth and kind. Great service. They have all measures set up for COVID-19 to make sure your visit is safe and enjoyable.

Great food but the service was not the best... I basically got yelled at for adding chow chow to my Italian beef.. the short older guy was kinda rude... So heads up don't ask for anything other than what comes with your food even if you offer to pay extra 😳

This is the first time We've eaten there. The place is small, but homey. The owners were very inviting and we're willing to customize food. They even gave my daughter a free drink. The food was really great! The bread was fresh. The meat was lean and seasoned wonderfully. The fries were off the chain. It will be a new norm for me and my family.

It's been a long time since I've had a gyro but this place definitely brought back reminders of how much I love them. My gyro was loaded up with delicious lamb and beef along my choice of various toppings including olives, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, feta cheese, sumac seasoning, tzatziki sauce, and many more. It was tightly rolled up in wax paper before being cut in half and served with fries and a soda. The fries had a tasty sumac seasoning on them. The baklava was just the right amount of sweet and had a nice flaky texture. I must admit I didn't think I was going to be full but the amount of meat included in the gyro was more than expected and I was stuffed walking out the door. The employees were very nice and did not show impatience as the line of people stacked up during rush hour. It was pretty obvious that this is a popular lunch place. I will have to come back to try their other foods.

Friendliest service and crazy delicious food that will keep you coming back for more. I go here almost once a week and every time I walk in they remember my name and order (Chicago gyro salad is the best!). I go in hungry and walk out satisfied and feeling like I've just visited good friends. If you're looking for a great lunch, this is the place. And if you're feeling parched, be sure to grab some of their homemade Kurdish tea. You'll thank me later.

While I go to most of the gyro places around grand rapids, I really like this one. Prices are very very reasonable for this market. Gyros are great and the hot pepper mix is an awesome topping. The burgers aren't the best in the city but they are affordable and the chicago gyro is tasty. Seems to only be a couple dudes who work here but my wait has never been over 10 minutes. They probably have 6-8 dine in tables and they generally are not taken. They have ample parking right next to them also

My husband gets gyros here a lot. I happened to meet him for lunch today, and got the falafel sandwich. Delicious! They're fresh hummus with warm pita wedges is fantastic, too. Their friendly, fast service and amazing food will bring me back for sure!

Loved the food here! I always like when there is a good vegetarian option. It was also nice because you could choose exactly what toppings you want on the sandwiches (kind of like subway). Everyone there was really nice too! Also- the fries were AMAZING! They put some kind of awesome seasoning blend on the fries- yum!

My father in law brought me here when I was still in Texas back in 2014. Now that we've lived here for a few years I have to say Chicago Gyro has been a staple in our lives. The best Gyro is Grand Rapids hands down. It's cut straight off the spit. Crispy goodness, and still juicy! Their tzatziki sauce is a must. It used to be owned by a sweet couple but I think their nephews took it over and these guys are awesome. Always super nice.

We enjoyed the flavors of the Chicago Style Gyro, the Philly, & the Qyro Burger and seasoned fries. This place will have our business in the future. This little mom and pop shop was absolutely amazing. I got the Chicago Style gyro and fries and it was more than enough to fill me up. They take safety measures by having tables spaced apart. The gyro was absolutely delicious and flavorful. The prices are very fair for a lunch also! Will certainly come back again soon!

Delicious! Owners are friendly and work hard ! If you are a hungry hungry hippo like myself, ordering extra meat means a whole lot of meat, not just a few extra meager pieces. Also one of the few places that make their own tzatihiki sauce ;)

I ordered the small gyro platter that came with fries and a drink for $9. It was pretty delicious. The fries were OK - no seasoning - BUT for the price, it was a decent size lunch. And the service was good. There was one man in there when I went this past Saturday and he was really friendly.

Amazing! Went there once to pick up food while working grubhub and the man was so nice I knew I would have to go there sometime. The place smells sooo good. The falafels were the best I have ever had. The Chicago gyro was huge! The baklava was amazing, moist yet crunchy. And a big piece for the price IMO. Delicious will come back here again this is my go to place. If it wasn’t for the awesome first impression I would have over looked this place glad I tried. Thank you!

My fiancee and I walked up here when our power went out. The food was delicious, and the gentleman behind the counter was very friendly. I love the fact that they have real dishware and utensils to eat with. We were able to eat our food and have conversion with the other customers in the laid back atmosphere. Love this place! The owner is so kind and the gyros are AMAZING. It is a thin pita vs the thick kind, but just as good. The toppings are delish and they even have baklava! You can order and have your food within 10 minutes to-go or sit casually. I have even catered from Chicago Style Gyro for a small group at work (12 people) and everyone loved it. The owner worked with me to customize the meal for a self-serve group and even dug up a box and carried the order to my car.

Mediterranean and American cuisine in a charming atmosphere, made fresh when you order with high quality ingredients. It's hard to decide if we were more impressed with the food or the service. The level of Old World hospitality we received is quite rare for a meal so reasonably priced. All of the employees worked cheerfully and efficiently to prepare our food. The gyros, burgers, French fries, were hot and flavorful. The Greek salads were delicious. The fresh Baklava was a perfect finish to our meal. The restaurant was very clean. Being a chicagoan, when someone says they have Chicago style food, I am somewhat hesitant to believe them. This place hits the mark and then some. The Gyros are awesome, but even better are the falafels and the Greek salad. Some of the best authentic Greek Street food that I've ever tasted. you do your taste buds a great disservice by not coming to this place and trying any of the food items on the menu. I am definitely planning on going back there next time I visit Grand rapids.

I discovered this nice little restaurant while on a recent visit to Grand Rapids. My aunt and I were hungry and I was feeling like a hot dog or something. We had a very nice lunch with touches of Turkey in some of the dishes. That might be because the family that runs the place is originally from Turkey. Everything we ordered for lunch tasted nice and the conversation with the owner only enhanced our experience. I am sure there are other places that serve similar types of food just as good but the service and friendliness won us over. Not to mention that everything seemed ot be quite fresh!

The food was prepared fast and very fresh, the customer service was incredibly friendly. If 4.5 stars were available, the half would be that the lunch special was advertised for $6.99 online, on their window it was $7.49, and then inside it was actually $9 something with tax, which is a bit much for lunch. I never complain on my first visit though, so I'll reserve that for next time. The portion was plenty for the price though, and very, very good. Will visit again.

My wife's gyro was more than she could eat and perfectly proportioned. I'm from an old Chicago family and this Italian beef is a rare taste of home. Perfect bread! Great value. Clean and polite location and staff. Also, try the homemade filaful. Great job guys! We'll be back!

Fabulous food!! So fresh and made with care. Great ambiance too, you can sit in the brightly lit cafe style area, or to choose go into the dining side, where it nicely decorated, darker and quiet. Just ate here for the first time and we were impressed with the food and the staff. We had the Chicago gyro and pita with hummus. The pita was warm and the hummus was delicious but the gyro was awesome! We had it "traditional" with tzatziki, cucumber, tomato, feta, lettuce, bell peppers, and onion. We were surprised that the side was French fries but after tasting them it was clear as day, they were great fries, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Try them with ketchup! Then the piece de resistance, baklava, light and fluffy crust, not too sweet, nutty... perfect. Worth the buck and a quarter a slice. They don't make it there but its "imported from Detroit" (wink). The staff was friendly and explained the traditional menu and the American side too. The cafe itself was nothing fancy but who cares when the food is so good? Then there is the price, I'd like to say it was cheap but...oh yeah it was cheap! So what are you waiting for, an invitation?? Do it! Keep local cafe's like this one in business for years to enjoy! Thanks!

A terrific place. Wife and I both had the gyro. You have a choice of toppings to add, including some unconventional options. Phenomenal cucumber sauce. The couple running it could not be nicer. The husband offered us Kurdish tea even though we didn't order it. It was also excellent. We will be back!

I was looking for a light lunch in the neighborhood and I found it here! I had the chicken kebob sandwich, just lovely! Dressed to order, and served quickly. Parking is tight in this area, so having a dedicated lot right next door is a HUGE plus. A positive experience.

I love eating here and do so as much as I am able. They offer many different types of food and its always fresh and delicious! The staff is are excellent at making you feel welcome and appreciated. My favorite is the Chicago style euro with spicy veggie mix , hummus and extra cucumber sauce on a large white Pita. I especially love the way they salt and pepper their French Fries :-) I drive the 15 miles from my house to here at least twice a week, and for less than 10 bucks you are guaranteed to come away with a full belly and a smile on your face!

Since I grew up in Chicago and ate gyro regularly, I was disappointed that this place didn't have Chicago style gyro as the name states. They don't use the same pita bread or season the meat the way Chicago does. In Chicago you can order a gyro plate which gives you a generous amount of meat and onions and comes with one or two pieces of thick, buttery pita with fries on the side. But this place was still pretty tasty. They have excellent customer service and some good menu options. But my favorite thing is the home made lemonade! It's literally the best lemonade I've ever had. Overall it's good, but definitely not Chicago style gyro.

Pros: The food is great quality, and you get alot of it! And thats on top of it being cheap ($5 burger, $4 mozzarella sticks). They have marinara sauce for the mozz sticks (it's a pet peeve when places dont). You do have to pay extra for fries (another pet peeve), but it includes a drink and lots of very good fries (probably some of the best I've had). Good gyros as well. The mozzarella sticks are meh though, and I wouldnt recommend them. Plenty of seating. You can see them making your food while you wait. Clean place. Napkins, silverware, condiments, drinks, etc are all readily available for customers out front. TV to watch while you wait or eat. They do takeout, and its relatively fast (not McDonalds fast, but doesnt take forever). Its walking distance from other places including residential neighborhoods, bars, bowling, and grocery stores. On the route 7 and not far from route 9 bus. Right near a pedestrian crossing with signs and lights for getting across Leonard Street. Staff are always very friendly and quick, never had any issues. Cons: It may be difficult to eat here if you have any dietary restrictions (vegan/vegetarian, gluten free, etc).

A wonderfully little family owned spot! The food is fresh made to order and the owners clearly pride themselves in having a flavorful eatery! This place was the first meal I had in the area and it has now raised the bar for my whole trip! This is an A+. :-)

Mr. and Mrs. Pektas are some of the most wonderful people. I'm only able to make it to this place once a year and each time they remember me and it feels like meeting old friends. The food is consistently good, the additional eat-in space feels warm and inviting, and the Kurdish chai is so amazing. I could easily drink a pot of that chai. Well worth a visit.

My colleague and I travelled to Grand Rapids from Chicago for a meeting and stopped in here for a Chicago Gyro. We were first very surprised at the feta cheese and the incredible amount of lettuce on our Chicago Gyro...I asked the lady if this was the Chicago Gyro and she clarified that it is a Chicago Gyro. The bread and meat we're certainly not Chicago style either. It filled our little bellies and satisfied our appetite so we left happy.
