I don't know how many times I've driven past this place before i finally made a stop for a quick dinner tonight. Wondering why I hadn't...Really great tasting empanadas, great variety, and the prices are not too crazy, given its proximity to Coors Field. You can choose from a dozen savory fillings ("Savory"), a handful of sweet (chocolate, caramel, etc.) fillings, or other items like salads. Indoor seating and some seats outside on the street. Parking is on the street (watch for traffic, it's Park Avenue) with parking meters. Overall, a nice place to grab a quick bite.

Stopped in after the game and grabbed a few empanadas to go. They were good kind of smaller than what I’m used too. But the flavors were definitely there. They were baked and not fried, which was great. Definitely would come back.

Delicious empanadas, we came here on a food tour and it was definitely one of the stars of the tour, got to try the ground beef but doubled back after the tour to order caprese, and spicy chicken & steak. Detoxifies all around and great location near Coors field! Would highly recommend!

We came here as part of a food tour, and each of us on the tour tried the beef empanada. I thought it was delicious, although pretty sweet tasting. The green sauce is a must have and makes the empanada next level. I noticed that they ship, so hoping to order some of the other varieties, as they had several that sound delicious.

This place makes pretty good empanadas. Very reasonable price. They offer outdoor and indoor seating. Outdoor seating is nice but can be unpleasant when the homeless start to interrupt your meal. The owner should do something with that..

I flew all the way from DC to get delicious empanadas and Luis was very attentive with my requests. We had the best customer service ever and I am definitely flying every year for the empanadas. If you’re in the Denver area looking to try out delicious food, say less. Luis is the man. He is the legend! Give him a raise and promotion!

It's ok for a little snack, I think the empanadas are a little over prized, also the ingredients are not listed, so I got the steak empanada and it comes with olives, if I would've it known that, I would've it hangs the flavor. Also, the 2 young ladies that work there are rude and they are not friendly.

Really good empanadas made in a traditional Argentinian way. There are a couple different sizes and you can order them Togo either fresh or frozen. I ordered 10 appetizer sized empanadas to sample them. Unfortunately they don't offer every flavor in the smaller ones so if you want to taste them all, you may need to order them individually.

LOVE the empanadas. The dough is flakey, soft, and melts in your mouth as the meat and cheese explode on your taste buds. We tried the ground beef, ham & cheese, and steak quesadilla varieties and couldn't get enough. The owner and his family are very kind, answer questions about the food, as well as enjoy talking about their beautiful country of Argentina. We've heard the pro baseball teams also order empanadas here for after game feasts. Definitely worth a try and we WILL come back!

WOW ! What a treat. Totally not expecting this quality of a meal. At a very nice, clean, and pleasant atmosphere, hole in the wall, called Lazo Empanadas. People were friendly and had great recommendations for us newcomers. We highly recommend if you are ever in Denver Colorado to try them out! They will not disappoint you!

If you are looking for tasty empanadas in Denver Lazo's has you covered! Lazo's empanadas are a departure from you typical crusty empanadas. These empanadas have a flaky crust that resembles more of a dessert or a croissant. They have a wide variety of fillings to choose from mushroom, chicken caprise, spicy steak, & etc. Whatever filling you choose you can't really go wrong. They are all packed full of flavor and complimented by the soft flaky crust. If you are ever looking for empanadas in Denver I 100% recommend coming here. My favorite one so far is the chicken caprise and the fresh mushroom.

The empanadas are so delicious I definitely recommend you come to this place and try some. I had the ground beef and spinach cheese empanadas, both tasted really good. Also, the place inside is very cozy and the staff are kind and make you feel like you are welcomed. I can't wait to visit again.

I never would have thought of eating empanadas for a whole meal but these were outstanding! My spinach cheese empanada was so flavorful. Normally spinach and cheese items are bland but this did not disappoint.

We came here on a Denver Food Tour. This was my 2nd favorite stop. The baked empanada was served hot, flaky, and full of flavor. We had a couple from Miami on the tour and they said this was one of the best they have had. They have savory and sweet empanadas. The chimichuri sauce was also very flavorful. The story behind the sauce is very interesting.

These empanadas are so much better than that other place! (That shall not be named with multiple locations.) The other ones are so bready/doughy that it generally turned me off to all empanadas. I happened to park in front of Lazo and grabbed a mushroom empanada for convenience after running errands. I'm so glad I did! The ratio of filling to dough was perfect, the mushrooms tasted fresh, and biting in there was that nice balance of a slight crunch and nice chewiness. Yum!

Wow! We loved this place! It's a quick walk from Union Station. Clean and bright interior, friendly and polite staff, and the food is beyond delicious! We tried the BBQ chicken, fresh mushroom, and chorizo, egg, and cheese empanadas. All were so good that we couldn't pick a favorite. They had at least a half dozen flavors of San Pellegrino to wash them down, and we ordered alfajores (dulce de leche shortbread cookies) for dessert. This was our favorite meal in Denver!

Hands down the best empanadas in Colorado. We bring guests here on our food tours, and they are always a huge hit. The spicy beef, mushroom and cheese and caprese empanadas are my favorite, but they're all so good. They bake them, so they're light and fluffy. Oh and the dessert empanadas! So delicious. The banana nutella empanada is life changing. They have a nice little front patio perfect for outdoor dining for the COVID-conscious!

I tried the vegetarian options, the mushroom and the spinach empanadas. They had a mild chimichurri sauce. The price was outstanding for what I received! I was so tempted by the smell, with intention to take it home to eat later, I had to eat right away. There are many other meat protein options and Jarritos on deck. They have Jarritos Guava flavor. Highly recommended if nearby having drinks, or out to a ball game at Coors Field. Great grab-n-go option.

My girlfriend and I were in town for a few days to explore Denver and we came across this gem while riding scooters in this fine city! The place was closing, all the chairs were up and they were wiping down the counters but they stayed open and let us order a handful of Empanadas. They were incredible! First time ever having an Empanada but now I can't stop thinking about them. The man and young woman working were awesome! I really wish I could rate 6 stars. I'll be coming back to Denver just for more Empanadas. Thank you!

Great food, fresh vibes and great staff. If you are looking for a meal, a snack to hold you til dinner, or just a sweet treat lazo is the way to go. A classic Latin pastry with so much flavor. We stumbled upon this locally owned Argentinian eatery while walking to another restaurant and I’m so happy my wife’s curiosity was peaked. Definitely coming back here next time we visit Denver.

I’m visiting Denver for a few days and I was very happy to find this spot with empanadas from my home country. They were delicious, the variety was good, and they paired great with a red wine. Really great food that is served fast and hot. I tried the spicy chicken and steak empanadas and both were delicious! I was fine with only ordering two, however people in my group with bigger appetites ate 3 - 4. The place was clean and the photos of Argentina make you want to travel. It's going to be a problem for me that it's within walking distance for lunch.

Good place. The empanadas had great crust, but the filling was hit or miss, and you'd need at least 4 for a full meal, which would cost upwards of $15 a person. I think this place operates best a snack place. Come for one or two empanadas.

Hands down the most overpriced empanada spot i ever seen. Definitely a spot for the rich and ditzy who have money to spend, NOT for the hard working man/woman. For $2 you get a bite sized empanada that looks like it was created for a mini chihuahua. The prices are all heavily over priced and for what your getting as far as the portions its a rip off. The staff is courteous and friendly, the empanadas themselves tasted decent but the money they are asking for baked bread with ham and cheese inside... im never going here again. T

This place is absolutely amazing. The salsas and food here is a perfect end to drinking at the nearby brewery’s and tap rooms. It has late night options as well as take out. We can, got stuffed, all for a reasonable price with excellent food. Would definitely recommend in the future.

This is where it started and this is where youll find authentic Argentine empanadas. Also dulce de leche here is flame. You will not be disappointed. Empanada are traditional style savory pastry. In keeping with the food of Andes wine country and Buenos Aires, the empanadas are beef oriented and they are tasty. They also have a mushroom and cheese empanada for the more vegetable inclined.

I had the Chicken Caprese and Spinach empanadas as well as a nutella and banana dessert empanada. They were very good, my only complaints are the size of the empanadas and they came out a little over cooked on the exterior. I would suggest anyone try it out, it has a nice atmosphere and located near alot of the downtown Denver night spots and bars.

I stepped in today to order the nutella and banana sweet empanada. Served in a timely manner. Delicious, hot, and fresh! Covered in powder sugar. Latino music is playing. Cute place to have a snack. Wifi is available. Good view of 16th St. Mall. Friendly staff. Give it a go! My only criticism about this place is perhaps the price. Don't get me wrong... it was delicious. But I paid 4 bucks even after tax for a single, tiny empanada. I wish it wasn't so pricy, but it's okay and worth it once in a while. Maybe make the empanadas bigger? Lol.

I lived in Argentina for a short while (around 20 months) and fell in love with everything about the country. Whenever I am missing it a little extra, I come to Lazo’s. They have delicious empanadas and alfajores that taste like the ones I had in Buenos Aires (although they are not quite the same as the ones I ate compulsively in Misiones). It is lovely to me how they have grown and prospered, adding more items to the menu and bringing the closest thing to authentic argentine food I have had in the US to Denver. The dulce de leche they sell by the tub is the best brand. I can’t talk this place up quite enough. The only downside is the price, but it’s honestly worth it every so often to feel a little closer to my most influential memories.

Really authentic Argentinian empanadas. I was sad that Buenos Aires pizzeria closed down at this location. They made excellent empanadas!! Lazos makes excellent spicy beef empanadas. After I had one I wanted another! I definitely love the seasoned oil sauce you get with it. I would not recommend the green sauce. It was okay. Get the oily sauce with it! So bomb.

This was one of my favorite stops in Denver. An argentinian empeñada restaurant that served up a wide variety of of fillings. It was difficult to gauge how many of these empeñadas I should get so feeling light from the higher altitude in Denver I went for a spicy chicken, spicy steak and spicy beef. And man were they spicy.... If you like spicy they are perfect. If you're spicy averse I would stick with the other stuff in the menu... The food comes out very hot so don't just bite in or you will regret it. After three empeñados I knew I'd be hungry again later. The food was very good and the prices were reasonable.. The atmosphere was simple and laid back and the service was excellent..

Great alfajores 😍 tried them first at their food cart during FoCo’s New West Fest. We didn’t realize how amazing it was when we took it home to enjoy. Amazing with artichoke tea. So I tried to search them up on google and was sent to a different address. But the alfajores were not the same! So I emailed this location to try and lo behold I found them! I learned from the gentleman that the other location we visited, they are actually family, however, they don’t share recipes!
