Food is absolutely phenomenal, drinks were fantastic and the service was superb! Really kind and accommodating staff. I loved all the food I ordered so much I couldn’t put my fork down. If you are an avid food lover please go here for creole and Italian! Can’t wait to go back! Also the desert is just as fabulous! Thank you for a wonderful experience! Sadly I was so excited about the oatmeal cream pie cheesecake I forgot to take a picture before inhaling it but 10/10 recommend.

Cute ambiance. Limited but good menu some low priced items and some higher. We had two pastas the meat and pomodoro. Tea was only 2.50. Will update review when we go back. Their creole dish on rice looked good but looked like a LOT of seafood which they seemed to have a lot of dishes for...

Truly one of my favorite places to go in Columbusin 2022. The dishes are stunning and full of flavor. I went with the Seafood Creole, but also get the Étouffée if you can. I would recommend this place to anyone. Shout out to Tommy!

Damn good food, great staff. Solid beer selection, wine by the glass via a high-tech machine thing and a very good liquor selection. And if you are lucky Tommy Gallo will be wearing a Championship Wrestling Belt when you are there!

We met Jennifer, The assistant GM by mistake. She was awesome. She answered all of our questions and gave my date and I a tour of the new wine room explaining how it came to be. Tommy our server provided us a guest experience second to none. The combination. Of Jennifer and Tommy made the “price of admission” well worth it. I’ve not had a better experience anywhere. We even got to meet Tommy Gallo who did not disappoint. We will make this a place to come for all our special occasions and beyond.

I hosted an evening with my women's executive group, Chief. The wine room was the perfect space and the atmosphere inviting. The food was delicious and drinks plenty. Nicole did an amazing job getting us all set and Katie was a very attentive waitstaff member. I highly recommend this restaurant for any event you are hosting, or if you're looking for a great, local dinner spot in Columbus.

As usual this place is excellent. I had the Seafood Creole and my wife had Chicken Etouffee - both were excellent and portion was pretty big too. The bread was perfect to absorb the sauce from the dish. We came around 6pm and the place was full but we did not have to wait. Parking was full, so we had to park on the street nearby.

There's a wonderful Foodies Facebook Group here in the city where many participants have shared their fantastic dining experience at Gallo, so I was thrilled to kick off the New Year with a rare night out with my husband. We felt welcomed as first time diners and were given best recommendations by our server, Dustin. He guided us perfectly to order the pan-seared fish with this mind-blowing crawfish cream sauce and the 8 oz. Filet prepared to perfection by the Chef. The owner kindly stopped by to greet us as we ate heartily. I'm a tried and true Southern cook whose tastebuds appreciate wonderful food, and this was an OUTSTANDING night out.

Bar none folks. This might be one of the best restaurants in Columbus. It's a must! ****** But Update 4/22/22. They need to check the way their bar staff...particular the male staff member... that basically snubbed me from moment one, trear guest. Maybe he didn't like a single person sitting at "his bar", that is a good tipper, that comes there periodically because the food and normally the service is spot on. Unfortunately in my option, he probably has been there so long that he hates his job but won't go out to find new employment. Again I wouldn't let this stop you from going there, just ask for a different server.

O. M. Goodness. Such delicious champagne, jambalaya, fried swordfish and creamy brussel sprouts. And the Buckeye cheesecake was the best way to end the meal. Amazing service. Clean eating space and bathrooms. Will definitely be back.

Gallo’s Kitchen and Bar has ample space inside for seating and a nice big bar. The food is all great and I’ve never had a bad meal here. The staff is also really friendly and knowledgeable. They have a great wine and beer list as well. The atmosphere is great and I think if you’re in the area and want to celebrate something special you should definitely check it out.

This is a conveniently located restaurant in Upper Arlington with delicious food. Cajun and pasta are the specialties and every dish we had was outstanding for taste. The downside was that there was not sufficient parking, the place was crowded (attesting to the good food no doubt), and it was extremely noisy. It was hard to carry on a conversation, and the friendly waiter had to shout over the noise, but was still hard to hear. I recommend making reservations, since we went on a Wednesday night and it was packed.

Food was fantastic and owner Tony is very personable! I enjoy seeing the owner sit & talk to everyone as if they were long time friends. Only reason I took a star away because our server was okay. Was not personable and seemingly judgmental of myself & my boyfriend. If he gave us the same service & grace as he did with the tables all around us, I would’ve left a raving review and an even better tip (I never not do 20 percent). He constantly ignored us and walked away while we were in the middle of ordering. I ordered the seafood creole (which was absolutely amazing) and he gave a snide remark to my boyfriend when he didn’t want a “fancy dish” (he ordered the pulled pork sandwich). Maybe he was just busy and we’ll be back with hopes of a different server. Blonde server was very nice and helpful.

Literally writing this as soon as I got home and sat down after our latest Gallo's experience: This is one of, if not my boyfriend and I's FAVORITE spot in Columbus. The food is always delicious, the staff is excellent + friendly, and I love, love, LOVE how involved Tommy is in all the comings and goings on the floor. I should have written a review for Gallo's well before now, but I wanted to express my heartfelt appreciation for our service this evening, my order wasn't put in at the same time as my boyfriends and my food came out later than intended (totally fine, the food is always phenomenal so I don't mind waiting at all!) and it was more than made up for by the owner + staff. We'll return often as we always planned to but if you've never been to Gallo's and are considering it for the first time: RUN, DON'T WALK, and make a reservation!!! You won't regret it, thanks again!!

Great Cajun Food! Service was Awesome. Food was amazing. I rarely leave reviews, but this place is worth a shout out. We had dinner at Gallo's for the first time on Monday night (safe to say it won't be the last time). The place was packed, but we got a table almost immediately. After dinner the Chef/Owner noticed my friends Louisiana licence plate and LSU sticker on her car and came to find us in the restaurant to get her feedback. Needless to say, the feedback was excellent. Fried Oysters, Arancini, Gumbo, Jambalaya all excellent. The Halibut was a standout served with polenta and an amazing crawfish sauce. The Chef even sent my friend home with a nice gift from back home. Awesome personal touch. Great small restaurant atmosphere. We will be back.

Never even knew the place existed until we stopped across the street for an oil change. Caught the back half of happy hour. 5 dollar wing and polenta plus the obligatory drink discount. Service was thorough and the staff seemed very nice. Look forward to coming back soon to sample the awesome looking menu.

Top 5 restaurant in Columbus. Always fresh, always delicious. Italian-creole-seafood fusion. We never have a bad meal, bad service or bad time. Owner/Chef always comes out and talks to his customers, which is great. Fat Tuesday is insanely busy, so make a reservation.

Excellent food and solid service. A mix of Italian and Creole leads to an interesting meal. Nice selection of wines, beer, and mixed drinks and a decent selection of whisky. Service was very good - our waiter kept the water glasses full and suggetsed appropriate wines for our food.

Great food & service. We were most recently there on a typically busy Friday night, but, aside from slight wait for food to come out, everything was lovely. We were offered a free dessert for my wife's birthday. It's a fairly loud dining room. Probably not the best getting-to-know-you first date destination.

Have lived in Columbus for 6 years and am regretting not finding out about Gallo's sooner than last night!!! My husband and I celebrated our 19th wedding anniversary and felt very spoiled by Dustin our server. We ate the Creole dish and pan-seared fish special, and Oh My God!! The owner comped our dessert after learning about our special occasion. How nice is that? This restaurant has everything - EXCELLENT food and wine selection, the best staff and chef, and a comfortable "come as you are" vibe. Really enjoyed seeing so many locals know one another. It's the spot! Parking lot on a Tuesday night was packed...another great sign. Well done to chef Tommy for bringing the taste of New Orleans to our city. I have never had a better tasting fried oyster or Louisiana Crawfish sauce. We are making reservations for next week. It's our new craving.

We always have a great experience at Gallo’s. The service is always fantastic (we had Michael last night and he was great) and the food is always spot on. We love the po boys, calamari, pan sautéed daily fish and the Ohio filet! The french bread and hurricanes take you right to New Orleans. It’s a cozy intimate atmosphere so make reservations.

Spectacular. I have done take out here before and always loved it. The food is amazing, always. I had the walleye nuggets. My friend had the scallops, and we shared the mussels. I don't have words to describe how amazing it all was. The scallops were especially delicious. The service was also amazing with dine in. I definitely recommend reservations, as it was super busy even on Thursday.

I set up special arrangements with them before hand to help make my proposal to my fiancè something special. They took amazing care of us and had the table ready. The food was amazing. I had the most amazing sausage and shrimp Cajun alfreado pasta I've ever had. My fiancè order an excellent seafood creale with best swordfish in my life. Drinks selection was extensive service was on point. I had no problems at all leaving a above gratuity tip. I can't wait to take her back again

Celebrated a friend's birthday here. GREAT local vibe. Tommy and Nick (owners) were in the house that night and our server was great too. I had the fillet mignon which the server described as the best in the blah blah blah...which I blew off because whatever. And then I ate it. Sweet Jesus that was a great steak. It didn't need the homemade worcestershire sauce but that was amazing too. Highly recommend this place.

The walleye nuggets appetizer was excellent. Dusted more than breaded, fried perfectly, served with a creole type sauce. I had the scallops with brown butter for my entree. Service was great. I look forward to returning.

This place is amazing!!! Drove all the way down here from Cleveland, and it was 100% WORTH IT!! The Moscato was splendid, the food was fantastic, and I'll definitely be back the next time I'm in town. I'm more disappointed that I left my leftovers in my date's truck than I was breaking up with him... on my birthday. THAT is how great this place and the food are.

My second visit here. The food was excellent, as before. The service was very good, though apparently we lingered a bit too long for our server's taste. This was only our second time out to dinner with family since the pandemic and we did not order dessert but sat chatting for a few minutes. There were lots of empty tables so we didn't worry about taking up space, but our waiter came and took our waters away. Not so subtle hint.

Wonderful! I ordered the seafood creole, which was amazing! Perfectly cooked rice with mussels, shrimp, halibut and clam strips in a tomato sauce with just a slight kick. Everyone I ate with raved about their meals as well. Service is good and the atmosphere is very laid back and friendly. Feels like a hidden treasure of a restaurant.

Wings and gumbo were great—reorder in a heartbeat. Étouffée needed more pepper and or more complexity of flavor, it was savory and the sauce was a good consistency. PO boys were a good value tried the crawfish and chicken. Bread left a bit to be desired and Mayo was very heavy on the chicken. BBQ pork sandwich was good with the bbq wing sauce, would order that on the side next time. Good value. Fed 6 adults to full with leftovers for $105.

Great place to eat. Was busy when I went but the food was still good. The calamari appetizer was well made and the olive salad used to garnish it added great flavor to the dish. Good place if you are wanting to get simple Italian or Cajun. Will definitely be going back to try more items on the menu.

Had a crab cake as appetizer, the crab cake while not the perfect consistency (Not thick enough in middle), had awesome flavor and was very well cooked. Jambalaya as my main and that was great great! Everything very well cooked and seasoned. Did I mention the service was awesome too?? Well done! Will be coming back for a while to come.

This place was really great! I had one of the fish dishes with the most amazing sauce! I seriously want to go back tomorrow and have it again! I was expecting Italian, and yes, they do have Italian but so much more as well! All 4 of us loved our dinners. Top notch waiter as well. When I asked what he would recommend he was very informative and helpful. Had a grapefruit gimlet that was excellent as well. I have to say this is one of my new favorite eateries!

Tonight was the first night out to enjoy a sit down date night. We had never been here before but I can say it was genuinely a magical evening. The owner Tommy came to our table to not only welcome us but give us an in depth run down of his well crafted menu. A friendly, above and beyond attitude made us feel right at home. Our table was in the new addition dining room which has a gorgeous decor. We ordered the friend polenta appetizer, the seafood creole and the walleye. Knowing we had never been there before Tommy kindly gave us a taste of what the kitchen had to offer. Everything [AND I MEAN EVERYTHING] was delicious beyond believe, well spiced and the best ingredients. After being in lockdown for so long this was exactly what I needed to unwind and feel relaxed. We will definitely be back once our stomachs recover from gorging ourselves.

So I've lived in Columbus 2 and 1/2 yrs now.. Ive been long anticipating going to Russo's based on other reviews and pictures I've seen. THIS place just stole my heart. Music--perfect. Food--Even better. Ate fried oysters and demanded they leave the sauces so I could dip my crusty bread in them, and also had the fusilli with sherry and sweet, spicy seafood cream sauce was wonderful. BF and I also had gumbo and Don't sleep on the Pasta Russo, either. I have 2 kids so I try to make the most out of my few-and-far-between date nights and Gallo's exceeded my expectations for the night. Overall, this place has a homey feel. You can tell the owner cares immensely about his food and the people who eat it. If I HAD to find anything to nit pick about, I wish the wait staff and bus people were as cool as the owner. They just didn't seem to care as much as the cooks, but whatever.. Gallo's is a gem and I'm going back as often as I can.

I was first introduced to Gallo's in 2012 by a friend who frequented the restaurant enough to know the owner on a name to name basis. Local ownership with investment into his community and menu is the start of a great place to eat and drink. Then to carry you the rest of the way to loving this place there is a menu with great variety, daily specials and some of the best Cajun/creole and Italian food I've ever had.

Food tasted very good but my crawfish in my Creole dish were smaller than the diameter of my little finger. Calamari were cooked correctly but overly breaded and a bit oily, same with fried oysters. Small draft beer list but good choices. Service was good but not outstanding. Appears to be a good place to go if you know other people who go here. Quite lively. Basically other places offer more quality for the same money.

The wife and I love Gallo's Tap Room in Powell so we thought we would check out Gallo's Kitchen. I was really excited to try the jambalaya since this is an item that is not on the menu at the Tap Room in Powell. The seating at Gallo's Kitchen is much smaller than the Powell location. The menu is smaller too. I ordered the jambalaya which said it was the hottest dish on the menu. It was good but did not have any heat which was disappointing. I like my jambalaya really spicy. The wife had the fried oyster po-boy which she said was good. I was happy to see that they had a number of their own private selections of bourbon. The food was good but I think we will stick with the Powell location since their additional menu items are much better than the jambalaya at the Kitchen location. I just wish they would bring back the meatball sub at the Powell location which is still on the menu at the Kitchen location.

Gallo's is amazing! From the outside, it would be easy to dismiss it as a run of the mill sports bar. But once you step inside, you see the place is packed with people eating incredible food and drinking wine and having conversations. Sam was our server and she made perfect recommendations for food and drink parings. Then the owner came around to every table personally making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. I can't wait to go back!

Fantastic meal and top great service to boot, Jaime, Alyssa and AJ were awesome. It's great to have an owner like Tommy who interacts with the patrons and knows so many of us by name. The food here is just as good as anything I've had in other cities, including New Orleans. The filet is always a great choice, but the Berkshire Pork chop was outstanding.

1st time visiting and highly impressed! Staff very friendly and helpful and food was delicious!! Mussels are top notch and the seafood creole had amazing flavor! Friends with us had calamari which was fried perfect and tasted great and they had the Filet which melted in your mouth. Can’t wait to go back and try something else. You can see the kitchen operate from the dining room as the entire wall between is glass. The chef routinely comes out to check on patrons. Great spot for a date, drinks, and even the family.

It had been a while since we had visited this UA gem. We were glad to see that the tables were well spaced so no social distancing concerns. We had the mussels as an appetizer and the were delicious! A generous stack of mussels without a single closed shell in the bunch. The tomato broth was fantastic and I found myself scooping a spoonful of it with each tender mussel. For our entrée, we both had the pan seared fish of the day. The halibut was perfectly cooked and the crawfish sauce was rich and creamy with with the right amount of creole spice. We'll definitely be back soon.

Best restaurant experience of my life. We came in with another couple and had a gift card for a free meal through a fundraiser event at Cornerstone of Hope. Tommy Gallo came out from the kitchen once he found out we were first-timers at his restaurant. He introduced himself and walked us through the menu, made suggestions, and explained what the dishes were when they came out. He gave us extra complimentary appetizers and entrees. The food was amazing. We had 3 different appetizers and got 7 entrees in all. Everything was delicious. The sautéed Walleye was the table favorite. They recommended wines that went well with the apps and entrees. We were told which food boxed up well since we obviously couldn't eat it all. Tommy came out after we finished our meal and had a glass of wine with us, calling us the "VIP" table! What a dude. Everyone needs to try this restaurant.

This place is seriously a hidden gem if you haven't heard or been. Every single dish I've had here is hands down 4-5 out of 5 stars. They are well thought out, and well executed. The staff is great, the atmosphere is solid. Don't let the outside fool you, this is good for business, for casual, or for romantic dinner - whatever you want it to be, it'll be. I end up going here with work anytime somebody is in town, nobody ever leaves disappointed AND you won't break the bank. One of the best spots in columbus if you ask me!

We came on a very busy night, but our waitress barely spoke to us or checked on us. I understand mood lighting but it was too dark and loud in this restaurant. The food was okay, not anything I would have paid what we paid for it. The value of the food and experience of the place was not worth it. We paid $45ish for an appetizer and two sandwiches. The menu items looked amazing, especially the Creole offerings. I had high hopes for this place, but it was a big let down. There's no WiFi here, but plenty of tables and parking spots. It's a good place for a small intimate group, for upscale dining.

Brought my coworker from Texas here to try the steak with the homemade Worcestershire sauce. Even the Texas boy was impressed by the steak, the mashed potatoes and veggie. Texans are proud of everything in Texas including steak, but he had to admit that it was one of the best steaks he had every had, reluctantly that is....Lol. Great job by Tommy and the staff.

SCORE! Some friends took us here for dinner and I cannot believe I've never been before. It was excellent. I had the Scallops étouffée...it was fantastic. I know a lot of superlatives, but there are deserved. My wife had the halibut on polenta and our friends had the Seafood Creole. Essentially this is a neighborhood restaurant that draws from other areas. The only drawback was the noise level which was pretty high, but what can you do when people are having a great meal and truly enjoying themselves.

I definitely recommend it for a relaxed night out. Having found this place on Yelp and seen many of the reviews, I came in with high expectations, and Gallos did not disappoint. The étouffée was delicious (I was it was offered in the crawfish option however), and the burgers are well cooked. Overall the wait staff were friendly and helpful, and it was a successful meal. The wait time for the food can be a bit lengthy, but the quality makes up for it. And It can get a bit noisy inside, but such is to be expected with any popular dinner spot. I will 100% be returning again

A cozy little Cajun-Italian (weird right?? It works though!!) place off of 33. If you're looking for an intimate date spot that's a little upscale but not too pricey, this is a good bet. Good drinks, apps, and the entrees are fantastic. The service is decent - a little slow, but I went at peak hours on a Friday, so it gets a pass. Make sure to make a reservation if you don't want to wait - it's usually PACKED (for good reason).

I would have given more than 5 if it was possible. I went there on a night with friends and the kitchen was closed, so we decided to have a beer and inquired for other placed to eat. While we were having a drink suddenly the owner of the place comes with 4 different dishes(meatballs, jambalaya,chicken and shrimp gravy) all of them were delicious. My wife and I are from New Orleans and had heard about Gallos Kitchen & Bar. They far exceeded our expectations. Their New Orleans inspired foods are OUTSTANDING. They did not dummy down the seasoning for "northern" palates. The truth-teller for me were the fried oysters. Chefs up here typically do not know how to season or cook them. Gallos' oysters were spot on! They had some interesting dips, but I'd recommend adding remoulade dip. Any Mississippi Delta folks missing home should check them out!
