Reviews of 929 Kitchen & Bar

We went looking for traditional Korean flavors and found them. Trendy upscale feel with great staff. After having been in S. Korea for some time we definitely have opinions about Korean food and this place measures up. Highly recommend. And they have Soju which is a bonus. We had the spicy pork stir fry, the pork belly and the Korean pancake for an appetizer and the Korean dessert (forgot the name but it’s a street food in S Korea.) All were top notch. We also like that we could have brought our kiddo and he would have been welcome.

There's plenty of amazing Korean restaurants in Columbia. The food is good here, but I think this place caters more towards folks who are looking for an upscale dining experience rather than authentic food. I also think that this restaurant is a more palatable place for people who haven't been introduced to Korean cuisine.. I was surprised that you had to pay for the banchan rather than getting it with your meal- which is something I'm not used to! I don't think I would come back just for the food, but the service is good (with the exemption that most of the staff doesn't wear masks) and the atmosphere is nice. Drinks and dessert were good too.

In town for business at Fort Jackson, I'm glad we came across this amazing place to eat. The wait staff was very friendly, even though it's a small place the wait to dine isnt very long. We loved everything about the food and the service. Definitely worth trying a few other items on the menu.

We had lunch and it was amazingly delicious i felt like i am back home (i am korean moved to the USA almost 6yrs ago) so we came back for dinner on same day while we are in Columbia. Every single staffs were super friendly and THE FOOD, absolutely top notch. We have been to many different Korean restaurants all over the USA, and I swear this place is the best. The real KOREAN food. We live 2hrs away from Columbia and this restaurant will be the reason that we come back to the city. 100% recommend and I really hope they open another location in Charleston.

I DO NOT say this lightly. This place deserves 6 stars. The evening started out with a bartender who absolutely knows what he is doing, spot on recommendations with drinks that tasted far better than expected. Followed by thee best wok fried Udon of my life! Reserve your table or stop in and sit at the bar you will not be disappointed.

The food was fabulous since I love a good Pork Belly. I had Grilled Pork Belly, Scallion Salad, White Rice and Miso Soup. Best Miso Soup I ever had. The drinks are really good also we had Saki I think Citrus flavor. Very fun , friendly atmosphere

Arrived on a Friday afternoon around 12pm. We found parking very close, there was parking within a 3 minute walk of restaurant, paid $1 to park for 1 hr and 20 minutes (this is necessary if you aren’t a local lol we came an hour away from Augusta and had no idea you have to pay to park around this area). Entering the restaurant, we were told about a 15 minute wait for a table but we could sit at the bar immediately. There was not a soul at the bar but as we sat, it filled up quickly. I’m not sure who the bartender/waiter was but he was a young, Asian man..he was AMAZING, I wish I would have gotten his name. He was attentive and quick, answered all my questions regarding the menu and made a HELL of a drink! We ordered the bulgogi kimchi fries as our appetizer, I would highly recommend these. If you unfamiliar with kimchi, it is a very sour yet spicy fermented cabbage. Mixed with the sweet bulgogi beef and topped with nacho cheese. OMG! So many flavors. Absolutely delicious. For our entrees, my bf ordered the soy garlic chicken wings w truffle fries and I ordered the spicy pork japchae (stretchy clear rice noodles w stir fried meat and veggies). I ordered this at the medium spice and it was perfect. My bf’s soy garlic wings were also very good, flavor was good and they were fried perfectly crispy! Overall, I’d give the food and service a 5 and I would definitely return when in this area. Smaller dining room so I can imagine it may be more of a wait at busier times but I would say this place is worth the wait! Also, I’d say this place is quite affordable. Three cocktails (one a double), one yuzu lemonade, one app and two entrees was only $75.

As a lover of Korean food, 929 really delivers in an upscale vibe. Note: seating is limited, do try reserve over the weekend; also, they have happy hour. Their drinks were unique and tasty, usually not a fan of egg whites but theirs are whipped and delicious. You have to try their chicken wings (pictured) - awesome! They hold true to flavors and can make things quite spicy. Oh - the korean pancake desert was a nice end to the meal. I personally loved the vibes and food here, and would recommend!

This place is amazing the food was delicious and the atmosphere was on point. I had the stir fry Beef Bulgogi. For my appetizer I chose the Pop Mandoo it was good but they are only bite size. This place it's a must visit when in Columbia..
Casey Salvador
Definitely recommend for a modern Korean cuisine! Very chill spot and awesome popular Korean dishes. Their Kalbi sauce is A1!!!

This was our first experience at a Korean restaurant. Not knowing what to expect, we were very happy with our food. Service was a little slow, but they were short staffed. Atmosphere was pleasant. I will return when in Columbia.

We had a party of 7 at 9:00 pm on Saturday, 8/27/22. We were seated right away. Service was suuuuper quick - we were in and out in 40 minutes! I believe our waitress’s name was Bayle and she was great! There is street parking. The inside is really cool and rustic. You can dress up or dress casually. They have beer, sake, wine, and cocktails.
Here’s what I tried:
- Side Dish Trio (AKA BanChan) ($4): Very good! Loved the different kimchi!
- Mandoo (5 pieces) ($7): Delicious!
- Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap ($16): Suuuper good. If you don’t do spice, just don’t get the spicy gojuchang sauce. Came with miso soup, which was delicious!
- Chicken Bulgogi Japchae ($15): The clear sweet potato starch noodles were so good! I personally liked the bibimbap better because it came with more. But my sister preferred this the Japchae. Came with miso soup.
Sooo good! Very reasonably priced! Great service! Highly recommend.
Kyla Oliver
Bibimbap was delicious! Spicy and sweet sauces were flavorful. The food came out so fast and nice and hot still. Good portion sizes and kind staff. Will definitely be coming back :)
Ebony Eyes
Ambience, customer service, and food were delectable. I only gave 4 stars because they do not offer my favorite Korean soup Yukgaejang. However, I enjoyed the bulgogi bento box with kimchi sides. It consisted of bulgogi, rice, miso soup, and macaroni salad. Bulgogi was sweet, salty, and satisfying and what you would expect. The only issue was the macaroni side was not flavorful but overall experience was that the restaurant was very clean, orderly, good customer service, and great food. Will always return when I come back to visit family.
Mike Tran
Service is pretty good. The atmosphere feels like it's classy.
I order the nacho bulgogi and it was amazing!!!! I never thought that combo would work so well. It's definitely a must have in my opinion.
I also got the bulgogi bibimbap with the sizzling bowl with a sweet soy sauce. The presentation was great. Hearing the sound of the sizzles was making me hungrier.
Katie Simmons
A friend and I met here for dinner tonight. We were excited to try something new, and the food is really good! The restaurant itself is small but roomy, and has a cool atmosphere. I ordered the beef bulgogi bibimbap, and my friend ordered the beef bulgogi japchae. We also had the nachos as an appetizer, and our entree came super quick! The food is a bit on the pricy side, but you get a lot. We decided to get a takeaway container and then order dessert too. We each had the double chocolate chip cake--amazing! The only thing I didn't care for was our waitress. I felt rushed, and it didn't really seem like she wanted to be there, or maybe it was that she just didn't really care to talk to us. Everyone has a bad day, so maybe that was it. I'm also not a fan of the accessibility of the place. If you have a walker like I do, you're able to get in, but it would be a lot harder with a wheelchair. There's a step leading into the restaurant and not much room to move around. It's possible, though, if you really wanted or needed to. In all, everything was really good--a great combination of flavors, spices, and textures. We both enjoyed ourselves.

We went a friend for a quick bite & gang out. The aesthetic is nice, service was good, food was great! Definitely stop in & check it out!
Rob
By far the best Korean spot in terms of food, service and atmosphere. Food is cooked super quick and service is top notch. Had my food before I even finished my drink. Good selection of liqour also. Must come here if your looking for a spot to grab and drink and light Korean fare.
James Williams
This place is really cool. Set in an old building with modern decor, the smell of food as you enter is a great indication of the quality of your meal. The service was friendly and fast. The food was of great proportion and delicious. Highly recommend.
Kelsey Ransom
The food was so flavorful and delicious. I had the beef bulgogi bibimbap and it was amazing. The desserts were good too. The restaurant itself has a nice atmosphere, albeit a bit small. I will definitely be back!
Jonathan Wei
Delicious and fulfilling meals! Staff was very friendly as well. My fiancée and I ordered the beef bulgogi bibimbap and beef stir fry, which came with miso soups. We did wish that our meals would have come with some Korean side dishes but we were pretty full after our meals even without the standard side dishes.
John Pinon
I’ve left these guys a review already and there dine in is awesome!
But mannnnn there take out is goooood too! The food literally taste the same as if you were dining in! I think that’s worth mentioning because that’s where most places fall short.
Thank y’all for putting love and care into your food. It’s wonderful
Jennifer
Delightful and delicious! An updated and approachable take on Korean food. Beautiful restaurant with super friendly staff. Great neighborhood for an after dinner stroll.
Yolanda Carson
Went for lunch, I was greeted and served immediately. Food was great. I ordered the dumplings and they were so good I ordered another round. I also had the Thai chili wings and truffle 🍟, yummy!!! Oh and I can't forget the lemon ginger hot tea, everything was perfect! I would definitely recommend this spot. I'll be going back for sure.
Bill Grubb
Great staff and excellent food! The chicken wings are some of the best I’ve had anywhere and the Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap was delicious and I love the sweet sauce.
Katelyn Pinon
My husband and I come here at least once a week! I usually get the yaki-udon noodles with beef bulgogi or chicken, my husband always gets the beef bulgogi bibimbap(w/ stone bowl)!
There miso soup is awesome we always start with that. Service has always been great, and mixed drinks as well! The Hotteok with ice cream is a tasty desert.
Joshua Kern
The service was great and the food was good. I had the Pop Mandoo which were alright and the Yaki Udon which was delicious. I had it spicy which for me was just the right amount of heat. Highly recommend checking out this place if you're in the area.
Alex Parker
Such an amazing place. We tried several cocktails and they were all delicious. The good was even better. My first time here and I couldn't be more impressed. The service was perfect, staff were really nice and ambiance was still warm. Highly recommend this place!
B Love
Wooo! Best Bulgogi, deep fried vegetable dumplings which were fried to perfection, AND wings which had a nice crunch to it! Haven't had great tasting Bulgogi since I was a teen. So glad to have found this spot! 3rd trip and added wings with soy & garlic sauce and topped everything off with a pineapple Saki! Everything was AMAZING 😍 …
Myles Hacking
I have always wanted to try this style of food and I was not disappointed! Great atmosphere and food. The restaurant is on the small/intimate side so seating is a bit limited so plan for a wait, but it is well worth it!
Chris Groves
I had the grilled galbi tonight and I considered it one of the best meals I've ever had. My wife was shocked when I said Id compare it to a dry aged ribeye with truffle butter ar Halls but a fraction of the price. 10/10 will come again
Palmetto Local Guide Food Tasting Connesouir
Food chices are good and the services are decent as well. Our waitress was mediocre at best as they made us feel like they were trying to push us out the restaurant after just receiving our food and appetizers at the same time, then bought our bill before we were done eating our entrees. We will return to try them again in the future.
Thommi Odom
I visted during lunch on a Saturday. No wait for a party of 3. Great customer service. Expansive bar selection. Shrimp tempura lunch box presented.
Revathy
Great food and a great place.Their bibimbap bowls are great and ask for it in a hot stone bowl. They have good vegetarian options in bibimbap bowls and I suggest people to try this rather than noodles. Kimchi cheese fries is a good starter if you are a vegetarian. This place usually has a wait time irrespective of the time or the day or the season.
Nick Litteral
Awesome modern Korean food! I highly recommend the mandoo as well as the Katsu! You won’t be disappointed with anything on their menu.
GuyQuad
Not bad for a Friday night dinner. The food was a bit sweet for my taste, but maybe it’s because of what I ordered. I had the beef bulgogi and yuzu cake.
Bill McLeod
Wonderful lunch here today! We will be back👏🏻👏🏻love the bibimbap in the stone bowl. Awesome
Jennifer McNeely
Nice little restaurant with great food. The nachos for an appetizer were really good. I got the bulgogi chicken lunch box and my partner got the tempura shrimp lunch box and both were good. The spicy version does have some heat so if that is what you are looking for I recommend it.
The staff were super friendly and very helpful when we had some questions. Definitely went above and beyond to ensure customers were happy with their meals and drinks.
If you are in the area I definitely suggest stopping here for a good lunch.
L Lynn
Nice little Korean restaurant on Gervais St. Try the flavorful beef bulbogi dish. Packed with savory beef, onions carrots and broccoli. Sticky rice, salad with miso dressing and deep fried vegetable dumplings compliments this dish.
Melandi Murrell
Delicious food! Very flavorful and filling! Loved this place! Mimosas are excellent also!
이주헌
Best modern Korean food ever. The food was very tasty and savory, and very well organized for a thorough gastronomic experience. The place is very clean and servers were very attentive and kind. The selection of drinks served at the bar is exquisite and very tasteful, especially the oocktails.
The place is highly recommeneded to those who are introduced to Korean cuisine for the first time and have a great night out with a date. Their choice of menu and cooking style is something that everyone can fall in love instantly, and you can't go wrong with any of the choice. Great place to visit for a great food with great people!

Everything was amazing... The flavors the different tastes... Just great

We stayed here in the South Pike Bay Campground. There are no hookups here but there is pump to get water. The campground is down a long road. There are about 24 very quiet sites. There are also beautiful biking/hiking trails. The Campground is on a small lake. Even on labor day the lake was not crowded.

We are sad that we found this place very late. The Grilled gabe Beef and spicy pork stir fry are must try. Nice ambience too. I recommend reserving your seats. For dinner, you need to reserve before 5:00 pm.
Mattie Smith
We celebrated my husband’s birthday here, and we were beyond impressed with the food and service. This was our first time having Korean food, but the descriptions on the menu are very helpful! We’ll definitely be back!
Randy Young
Waiting on party, few of us started at the bar, great drink options and selection. Once we were seated, great service and absolutely delicious food. Place has a nice setup and friendly staff. Will absolutely be returning.
Trish Green
I enjoyed the ambience of the restaurant and the customer service was great. I wasn’t familiar with a lot of the dishes but the waiter was very helpful. Overall the food was fresh and delicious and we will definitely be returning.
JayJay Lee
929's jjambong can stand comparison with excellent original ones in South Korea, especially the soup. I really recommend this!!
Odyssey Martin
I loved the setting and vibe of this establishment. My food was okay due to my Spicy Garlic & Sour Chicken being over cooked and stringy. However, the flavor was good. The cucumber kimchi was good and spicy.
Jalen Phelps
First time trying this place and I like it! I also like how they gave a little instruction sticker on how to re-heat the Japchae! Korean food for the win! 🇰🇷❤️
keren colsten
Went with friends, and it was great. They have a huge Bourbon selection, so I got a hard to find Ancieny Weller...yum. we got the japchae, spicy pork, and the Korean fried chicken platter. The platter was a bit odd...and pricey (for two). Was a fun and delicious evening.
Beverly Gustafsson
It was very good! Korean fried dumplings and edamame to share, spicy seafood soup for hubby and I had bulgolgi stir fry with rice and miso soup. I can't believe I ate the whole thing! It would have been 5 stars except hubby had some very chewy squid in his dish that he was unable to eat!
Alisa Jeffries
I can’t wait to come back and eat here again. The spicy garlic wings were crispy crunchy outside and delicious flavor. Everything in the spicy pork lunch box was delicious. Their seafood soup was amazing. Very spicy but not too spicy for me and the flavor was something I’m craving a week later.
Zee Garcia
Wow! This place is SO good! I absolutely enjoy eating japchae, it's my favorite Korean dish, they did an awesome job with their marinade and preparation of the food. I have brought a few people here and they have also enjoyed eating the wings, ramen, bibimbap. There is a decent variety of choices. So glad I found this place. Definitely a need to visit every now and again to get my Korean fix. This place gets packed during lunch time, so get there early.
shebana Huey
Amazing drinks! Delicious food! It was my first time and they really care about the food and experience. Love the decor and the drinks selection is great.
Tamieka Square
Went during happy hour one evening and certainly won’t forget it!
Wonderful customer service and food was amazing as well!
I recommend the spicy and sour shrimp combo!
Onna Koehn
Absolutely love this place!
Trendy downtown location and delicious Korean food at a fair price made for a great ladies night out! Would happily come again!
Abigail Starega
The Tteokbokki is the best savory & spicy food I’ve ever had. The wings are also amazing & I recommend getting the hot chili and soy garlic sauces together to make a delicious tasting combo. This place also has really good miso soup!!
Colleen Cleary
Cool atmosphere but it does get cramped and busy at dinner time on the weekend since it’s such a small restaurant. Expect to wait at least 25 minutes. The beef stir fry was delicious. I was disappointed in service, our waitress wasn’t blatantly rude, just one of the least friendly or personable individuals I’ve ever met. Not sure if I’ll return.
Sunah oh
We had a very nice lunch here today. The food was fresh and flavorful. The server was attentive and fast. We will be back when we visit Columbia again!
Trey “Seamus” Simmons
I'm basing this off of previous experiences cause I messed up and ordered hot spice haha if you eat here, med spicy is all you need. Hot just ruins the flavor. I love spice but dang! Still regretting that one.
Yuvraj Tandon (Israel)
A great place with a great vibe… do try the Spicy beef japchae as I did that and I loved it… great service and good food makes it a good experience… have clicked some pictures of all the food that we ordered from appetisers too main course… so enjoy this place as I did
Tiffany Barber
My husband and I went here and tried the food. I was saddened that they don’t fry their chicken to order. The chicken we received was soggy and it didn’t live up to Korean chicken expectation.. there’s no crunch. Flavor is okay. No depth. We also ordered pop Mandu. They’re very small fyi. But it taste good. I ordered hot stone bibimbap and it comes with miso soup. The soup was not hot at all. Like warm. The beef bibimbap is not bad. It’s pretty good! My husband got the spicy stir fry seafood and pork belly! He liked it.
Carlos C
Very appealing and quaint atmosphere.
Service was prompt and the food was served with adequate timing between courses.
In comparison to other Korean restaurants around the Columbia area, the flavor of the food was not as savory. However, it was still good with generous portions.
Jeff C
First time here. The restaurant environment was a bit surprising; more like a bar than a Korean restaurant. Was seated quickly even though we didn’t have a reservation. Limited menu items this night, but still had enough from which to choose. Salad was very good. Bibimbop was ok; I was a little disappointed that they didn’t ask me how I like my egg. I like it over easy, but it came fully cooked. My wife’s pork belly was tasty, but came with a a ton of onions. The two desserts were quite good, especially the hottoek. I felt the price was a bit steep for what we got, but overall we had a good time.
Jose Candelario
These guys do it right every time I come here. Food is super well prepared, drinks are always craft and the vibe is always super chill. Very cool spot.
Sok Hwee Tay
The food is decent but not the best korean food in town. If you are looking for authentic korean food, Arirang would be a much better option. The interior of the restaurant is really beautiful and a nice place to be if you happen to be in the area but know that you will not get an authentic korean experience.
David Rice
Great food for an awesome price and their drinks are incredibly creative as well. Just make sure you don’t eat right when your plate comes out or you will burn yourself.
Rick Harris
Totally bummed it's currently take out only because I didn't get to enjoy the ambience. Super friendly conversational hostess & server provided recommendations & detailed descriptions. Spicy beef box for me. All w/ exquisite taste... romaine in ieu of iceberg would be welcome.
Summer Giles
929 has amazing reviews for a reason, this place is incredible!! I’m new to Columbia and 929 will be a spot I know I’ll frequent. The menu has amazing options for all palettes, the bar is very impressive (super fresh cocktails), and the service is impeccable. Ask for Matt when you visit, he gave us great recommendations and made us feel so welcome to Columbia! We had the udon noodle bowl and spicy pork bibimbap.
Tyler Whitmore
Stopped by for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The food was delicious and the service was amazing.
Modern twist on traditional Korean dishes. My wife and I ordered two appetizers and main dishes, and shared everything. I wish we could have tried the dessert, but we were too full.
Highly recommend you visit for something tasty.
Amber Goff
This is a great atmosphere with a variety of types of seating. There is a bar with seats as well as booths and tables. There is even a large table for large groups or shared eating. The decor is great and I'm sure it would be a great place for a date night. The food is quite tasty, but I would say it is a little 'americanized' in my opinion. We had the dumplings, spicy pork tacos, and beef bibimbap. For lunch, we spent around $25-30.
Paul Robbins-Murphy
I took my wife here for her birthday this past weekend, and we were not disappointed! The drinks were great, as well as the food! The ambience was nice. I wished that I was given the option for the way my egg was cooked on my bibimbap, as I would have liked it runny, but other than that, everything was amazing!
Alicia C
Food was absolutely amazing!! It was my dad and my first time here and first time ever having Korean. Our server Ailish was so nice & made the experience wonderful! I can’t wait to come back! Thank you Ailish!
Ilaisaane Parker
Absolutely loved this place, the food, environment, toilets, loll, and especially our waitress ! Prices were reasonable and food was heavenly, bathrooms were super spacious & clean, it was just a little warm inside, but we had the booth and sat there for a good 3.5 hrs enjoying everything. I ordered the beef bibimbap and also the Hoteok w Ice Cream. The dessert was good, a lot smaller than the photo portrayed it to be, but still an overall great experience :)
Marie Silver
So impressed with the different kinds of food that they have! My meal was really hot, so I had to wait a while before it cooled down enough from the hot stone so I could eat it. I had been looking for a green tea dessert that I could also indulge in that had more green tea flavor and I FINALLY found it! Happily enjoyed it down to the last bite. :) P.S. Rice cakes were phenomenal!
Anna Deel
Great options and service. As a vegetarian I will have to wait to come back here unfortunately. Their tofu lunch box contains a lot of meat and even when I requested for substitutes I still got the sides that gave pork :(. I can’t eat half the box they give me. I hope they change their “Tofu” dishes so they are more vegetarian friendly for those that would purchase that kind of option-they usually don’t want the meat-great options though otherwise!
Edit: they actively updated their process/menu, great to see!
Faith Rasmussen
Absolutely fantastic! I was in town for business and wanted a place that was different but relatively easy to get in and out of. 929 Kitchen fit the bill perfectly. I was seated quickly, Derrick offered great suggestions from the menu and also informed me that there was a draft special and helped me choose one that fit my tastes. I had the crispiest mandoo I have ever had, and when I asked for them to spice up my japchae, they delivered the perfect level of heat. Great place, beautiful building, perfect atmosphere, and I couldn't have asked for better service. I will be returning when I have my next business trip!
Jay Smith
Everything was very good and the customer service was excellent as well. They forgot to bring out our shrimp and when I reminded them, we got the shrimp on the house!!! Highly recommended
Curtis Bennett
WOW! My wife and I went here for our anniversary and it was our first time trying Korean food. It was AMAZING. I got the Samgyeopsal Ssam and my wife got the Japchae, both were absolutely delicious. The restuarant also had a great environment with a solid drink list from beer and wine to craft cocktails. Service was exceptional. We will absolutely be back.

Normally, I'm skeptical of contemporary, trendy restaurants serving overpriced Asian cuisine, but was nonetheless in the mood for Korean food and decided to give this place a try and was pleasantly satisfied.
Our server was knowledgeable and friendly, and even offered me some extra sweet and spicy gochujang sauce to take home with leftovers.
The prices were reasonable for Korean food...though the seafood pancakes were tasty but small. I paid an extra $1 to get bibimbap in a stone pot, but the rice wasn't as crispy as it should've been. Probably not worth the upgrade. Also, I prefer the egg on top to be runnier. The japchae stirfried potato noodles with spicy pork was our favorite.
Jessy Stafford
We always had a great experience dining in at 929 kitchen! Good food and service! I wish they would take reservations though.
Nicole Chisolm
The ambiance of 929 Kitchen & Bar is great for a date night or a night out with the girls and guys. The food was AMAZING!!!! The Kimchi nachos, gimbap, and japchae were everything. The owner of the restaurant was so hospitable and accommodating. I definitely will be back.
Elizabeth
The food is good and the drinks are fun and delicious. It is an American version of Korean food. That is the only reason it is 4 stars.
It is also very tight. Their table for a big party is by the door. The rest of the tables are exactly situated to give diners the best service.
Staff was attentive. I enjoyed the atmosphere. We wee there around 4:45 pm and there was already a line.
Note - they don't do weekend reservations.
Definitely go try it. Plus dessert is right across the street.
Jonathan M
The staff was good, the food was delicious. Highly recommend the KFC Trio and fries. Wife had the panko pork and said it was "ok"...

Smaller restraunt with a bar and couple of booth tables. Always have a great time here though, the food's delicious and the staff are very attentive. Interesting fusion menu and drink choices, definitely try the hot stone bibimbap and make sure you stir it when it arrives!
Nick
Just incredible! Squid & Pork Belly Stir Fry was perfect. Cocktails were fantastic as well. Definitely a spot I'll come back to.
Tripp Pollard
Good Korean restaurant located in the Vista along Gervais Street. Came here with the rest of the family and ordered the beef japchae, a dish of stir fry starch noodles and vegetables - onions, bell peppers, carrots - with a choice of meat.
The meat options included spicy pork, shrimp, chicken, and beef, with the option to include no meat as well. I also asked for a side of "spicy sauce" which contained red chili, garlic, and, surprisingly, Sprite! A very good sauce that went well with my dish. I ordered my dish with a medium heat level, which I would recommend: medium was just enough to add a little extra without being too much.
Other members of my party ordered the spicy pork and beef bulgogi bibimbap, the stir fry, and chicken Korean tacos, and they all enjoyed their respective dishes.
My only complaints are that the menus provided to us were a bit unclean, with a number of smears on them, and the chairs were a little uncomfortable. There was limited seating in the restaurant for parties of more than 4 individuals, and I do wish that there were more menu options. Regardless, this place was very good! Service was really strong, too! (Except for one of the servers, who was just chowing down on a $44 dollar platter in the middle of the restaurant for all to see. What was up with that?)
Victoria C
The food was fresh andabsolutely DELICIOUS!!!!! I had the Beef Bulgogi Lunch Box. My server was courteous and professional. We received our food in a reasonable amount of time for lunch.
Maran Fulmer
The food is always good, but this time I had these weird unappetizing brown things in place of mushrooms on the bibimbap. They told me that these are sweet potato stems and that they no longer have mushrooms in the restaurant.

My friend and I went here for lunch. The interior is very attractive and clean, wait staff is friendly, and service is prompt.
The food is very pretty! The fact that there aren't any condiments at the table is a bold choice, considering that the flavor is almost as bland as if I printed off a color picture of the food and ate that instead. Probably a good place for a drink and appetizer. Bar was well-stocked and pretty!
scott parrish
Cozy place to find some of the best authentic Korean dishes. The Mando was flavorful and came out hot. The miso soup was tasty. Most of all the Bibimbap was delicious. I lived in Korea for a year, this was by far one of the better restaurants I have been to. Prices are fair for the portions.
Tiffany Perry
By far the BEST spicy Korean food! So much flavor. We leave in TN but will be making another trip specially to eat here again.
Kay Jay
I love this spot!💕 2nd time visiting and sat at the bar last night and Jacob and the other bartender (didn’t catch his name) provided GREAT service. I really like the chill vibe of the place and everyone we encountered were very friendly! The bulgogi tacos are amazing! 🤩 …
Kayela Greene
I don't know how they do it, but each time we come out experience is better than the last. The good is always amazing, the service is spectacular! This has become a family favorite and we look forward to many years of visiting.

Visited on Christmas Eve, ordered the Bulgogi Bibimap, it’s was delicious. Service was amazing.
Nicka E.
Service and waitstaff was good. Food was okay. I ordered the spicy beef bulgogi japche and noodles were sticky (needed to be rinsed before tossing with other ingredients) and the spicy sauce was very chalky (Chilli powder not mixed in water or liquid before adding to noodles). The prices and portions were reasonable. I've had better prepared Korean food, but would give this place another try.
This Me Really
Really good. 2 lunch boxes. Didn't care for the rolls but the spicy pork and beef bulgogi were delicious
Lyric Armon
Food and cocktails were delicious. Service was amazing. Everything came out in a timely manner. Definitely will be returning
L C
Delicious food, nice atmosphere. The lunch box is a good value with lots of variety on the plate. Attentive service also. Creative cocktails.
J. Mark Oliva
Great modern atmosphere serving phenomenal Korean food done with a twist. I started my meal with Kimchi Bulgogi Nachos that just blew my mind, what a start. I was also drinking a Japanese Vodka (Haku) Mule that was extremely refreshing. Next the bartender/bar manager, Matt suggested the Spicy Squid & Pork Belly Stir-Fry. It was sensational. I finished the meal off with Hotteok with Ice Cream and Matt suggested an unfiltered cold Saki that went perfectly with the dessert. 929 Kitchen & Bar is now one of my all time favorite restaurants. I also took a look at the Sunday menu and it is a must try and they are open all day.
Brock Herron
Great little gastropub style restaurant. I really liked the concept of special cocktails and hot stone bowls. It’s was a very neat dining experience. The stone bowls are very cool, I’ve never had anything like it. The bowls stay hot the entire time, which is both good and bad. Good because it keeps your food hot the whole time your eating bit bad because it keeps cooking the rice. By the time I had gotten to the bottom the rice was so hard is was a little difficult to chew but still good. I had the matcha mule as well which was very refreshing. The bartender taught me the trick to good mule is having a good high quality ginger beer. I’d agree because that was one of the best miles I’ve ever had. My other little minor complaint was the wobbly bar stools. I like the look and cushioning of them but the tops wobble too much. I thought it might just be mine but I tested the ones beside me and they wobbled as well.
Other than that I gave a high rating for the authenticity, the atmosphere and the staff. It’s was a great experience and I would definitely come back.
Andrea Allison
Great find. The experience was great all around. Handcrafted cocktails to wonderful recommendations from the bartenders for entrees. You have to upgrade to the stone bowl.
Robert Burton
Wow, don't miss this place. The korean food here is wonderful! The price and portions are good. The desert was the famous hotteok with ice cream on top, so good. Will definitely be back. Nice to have an amazing place to eat Korean food in downtown Columbia.
MasonKat Johnson
I had the Spicy Pork Japchae and it was Awesome!!!! Taylor was a great server too. Everybody seems to work hard together and enjoy their work. Great atmosphere!!
Erica Horton
The food was awesome! Our server was very attentive. Just make sure you make a RSVP first on the weekend.
arlene weltman
Punches way above it weight. A genuine and delicious Korean restaurant. And they make their own Soju.
Dana Risher
929 is Amazing!!! Delicious Korean food, creative, & refreshing cocktails!!! Lovely ambiance, friendly and helpful staff!! The owners are hands on, friendly, & lovely people. Corey, the bartender; is very informative, creating amazing works of art in a glass. If you like Korean food, or just a great cocktail stop in you won't be sorry.
Yair Centeno
What a delight to have a place like this in Columbia. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. I had the beef bibimbap bowl on my first go and I was over the moon. Can’t wait to go back and try the rest of the menu!
Adam Mungo
Food and atmosphere I would give 5 stars... service was a little lacking, but not horrible. Really good Korean food spot. Korean Taco's and lunch box were fantastic!
sharie rice
In Columbia, we have to go to 929!! We stopped in for lunch, I tried the bento box, what a treat! I got it with the spicy pork and soup. Also comes with beef bulgogi rolls, dumplings and rice. It was huge and filling and perfect! Husband had the jjambong, spicy seafood with noodles, it was amazing too! If you haven't been to 929, you are missing out!
Gary Brown
We love Korean food and they do not disappoint us. Great service and drink selection.
Taylor Mann
Phenomenal food. Cozy atmosphere. The staff is extremely compassionate and considerate. We had our 1 year old with us - they were all playing peek-a-boo with him as they walked by, accommodated our stroller, brought out a water bag that lit up for him to play with, and gave us plenty of napkins and extra utensils to cut up his food. Really lovely experience! (And it was so nice to eat me meal with baby preoccupied!) Beyond recommend visiting!
J Mae
Amazing!!!! Love the dumplings, chicken Katsu, spicy pork stir fry, and all of the desserts... everything was beyond delicious. Beautiful restaurant, relaxing atmosphere, and a very friendly staff.
Marisol lopez diez
AMAZING FOOD! Definitely coming back when in town. There box item o menu is great
ASHLEY BURT
Great service and decent prices for the quantity. Everything has been delicious from chicken wings to bowls to noodles. Smaller place so you may wait for a table but not long. Nice long bar and good cocktails. Parking is minimal because its in the Vista but worth the trouble. Servers are very nice and willing to provide recommendations.
Michael Stewart
Fantastic food and not expensive compared to a lot of similar quality food in vista
Jéssica Burgio
I liked the food and the place, but I went there with my baby, and they didn't know how to receive me, because I had a baby stroller, they spent some time thinking about where they were going to put me to sit, that is, the place is not prepared to receive families with children.
Kate Weaver
Upscale Korean resturant (not sure if Korean owned). Has signature cocktails that change out. Dishes were big and great value for the price. Lots of options on the menu. This place does get crowded, so I recommend coming early when they first open. (Plus there are early bird drink specials!) Due to how busy they are its not a place you should stay too long to chat if you're done with your meal.. our waiter did seem to rush us.
Jimmie Hardy
If you like Korean Fried chicken, you'll love this place!! My family and I had dinner her, hands down the best place we've eaten in Colombia. Food absolutely delicious and our server was extremely knowledgeable of the menu and origins of meals and all. Can't remember his name but hes the tall white guy with a ponytail (sorry, best description ). He helped make our dining experience just wonderful!! Definitely will return as this will be our "go-to" spot when visiting S.C.!!
Brendan Sturgeon
I Went And Tried This Place Upscale And Very Nice Looking Inside Modern Japanese Style I Ordered The Spicy Japchae With Beef Noodles And An Order Of Beef Dumplings Very Good Will Be Back Soon!
Bob Johnson
Delicious food, caring staff and warm atmosphere combine to make a delightful night out in Columbia. Some of the food can be spicy, so be careful if you do not like spicy food. You can order the food with no spices and it will be good also. I had the Bibimbap in the stone bowl and it was a real treat!!
Ralston Monroe
I enjoy the meal I will waitress was super she was knowledgeable of the food plus she has a great smile and interact with us she was ready every time we raise our hands I don't remember her name but I want to thank her very much
Sonya Fearrington
Great food & service! This is my second time at this establishment. The Bulgogi & Kimochi Nachos are amazing! You can actually order a salad & the nachos as a filling meal. The Bulgogi lunch box is great as well.
Greg Miller
Amazing is simply not enough to describe this food!
Jimmy Johnson
Great for a quick lunch pickup that's outside the usual sandwiches and salads fare, when I order tofu from places I don't expect much but 929 added some great flavor that makes me look forward to ordering next time.
courtney Matthews
Food was pretty good. Expensive, but it's downtown, so it matches the area. The decor is classy. The server we had was super nice and helpful. More options would be great.
Maria Hernandez
Came to visit my son for his b-day and he choose 929 for dinner. Great service and the food was just outstanding delicious. Highly recommend this Restaurant when you are in town.
Margaret Flint
I enjoyed the bibimbop in a stone bowl here. I thought it was really tasty and I would come back to try other things on the menu. I also liked the decor and seating. Great date spot I think.
Julia Brown
Great food and cocktail menu. A little expensive but worth it because the food is delicious and also smells amazing when it reaches the table! Small and cozy feel inside the restaurant
Anthony Lombardo
Loved the unusual and rich Korean flavors in a hip fun atmosphere. Will be back. Good service also.
Rubén Rodríguez
Beautiful place, great service, excellent food. Perfect first experience eating there.
Aeon Starke
It was very good Korean food - overall no complaints. Service was great and the speed the dishes came out from the kitchen was pretty amazing. We barely had to wait on anything.
crystal cooper
Delicious! I wish all the sides"kimchi" didn't have to be ordered separately is my only thing. If you go to any other mom and pop Korean restaurant it comes with the meal automatically, kind of like chips and salsa at a Mexican restaurant. The vibes here are cool. Great date night. I feel you can dress up if you want. Will def come back again!
Dillion Patton
Great environment and even better food! Perfect for date night 😉
Rajbarath Panneerselvam
Liked the ambiance, the service and the food. First time visiting a Korean restaurant and the waitress took the time to explain the dishes and setting my expectations.
Recommend trying the Wok Fried Yaki along with the Chicken Kangjeong - complementary tastes. Hoettok with Icecream was pretty delicious. The only let down during my visit - The lemonade didn't taste right, was somewhat bland and tasted like flavored water.
Eric Sutton
This is a great place to eat. The food was amazing and the staff was the best. My son's and I went to eat there and we were seated quickly and ordered appetizers. We all ordered different dishes and they were all excellent. The restaurant was busy but our server was constantly stopping by to check on us. If you are in the Columbia area you have to drop by and try this place out.
Simply Regal
Met a gf here for lunch and LOVED it! The atmosphere, the staff and the food are fabulous! Have already been back to have it again! The to-go drinks are the cutest too!
Timothy Gittins
Every dish here is top notch- excellent flavors and great noodles- nice bar too-
JSSMommy Sims
I ate here for the first time with friends. I'm not familiar with Korean dishes and had no idea what to choose. I ended up choosing the mild beef bulgogi with udon noodle. I added a fried egg. 5 minutes later we had our food.. And it was so good. It's a small, cute place, with a full bar. Server was sweet & attentive. And he didn't mind taking our pictures! Check it out if you're in the downtown area!
Garvin Reid
Great food, great staff. Nice little cozy spot.
rmr
oh my god i could marry this restaurant. i’ve been twice with my family and spent $130+ each time. SO worth it. literally the best food i’ve ever had at any restaurant in columbia.
the passion fruit cheesecake?? the tteokbokki? the kimchi nachos? i would die for all of it.
the staff is so nice too. they give such good recommendations, and they’re so patient.
11/10, will ALWAYS recommend
Brandon Robinson
Oh my... Just what i was looking for. Sooo good.
Paul Townsend Jr
Great food and a chill place to eat!
Tometta Pouncie
The seafood japchae is a new favorite ...and the drinks?!? I need mixology lessons from the 929 bar. The staff is knowledgeable, courteous and attentive.
Raven Henry
1st time here with my family who are all very interested in Korean culture. Great food, great host and waitress who were available to answer any questions. Will definitely be back
Jazzii
Upscale korean food in downtown Columbia! Food was amazing and the service was great!
Brian Peaks
The customer service was fantastic, and the food was amazing!
Robert Wilcox
My family & I were attending a concert and stopped here for dinner before the show. We all really enjoyed our meals. The food is fantastic and I go back without hesitation.
Jan Sohn
We ordered several appetizers that were all wonderful. Everyone, there were 7 of us, loved what they ordered. Delicious! Service was great.
Margo P.
One of my favorite restaurants! The food is DELICIOUS (My personal favorite is the spicy Jjambong), and the service is great :) Great place to go for dining in and carrying out.
Bill Martin
It was good. It's a small menu, but the 5 dishes we ordered were good. There is a large alcohol menu. We went there for dinner after the basketball game. This would be a great place for drinks later in the evening.
Jamie Billy
First time visit, and definitely not last. Food was amazing.
C Chelf
This place is a must, if you are in search of delicious food! The staff is friendly and attentive, prices are pretty great, and the food is absolutely amazing! They also have a good selection of drinks, can’t say enough good about this restaurant!
Nicole Monteiro
Very long wait but good food.
Danielle Fulk
The food was delicious. Having just come from Korea, it was a craving that was fully satisfied. Service was fast and the kids loved the light up ice cubes.
Bruce Robertson
Service was good and the Mgr. Very polite and personalable. Food was good but my sweet and sour chicken came with to much sauce that spilled all over me after the waitress set it down due to the odd shaped bowl it was in. The chicken was thin and dry. Due to the great service and my wife loved the udon noodles. Will try again.!
Anessah Barker
LOVED the atmosphere. The servers were very knowledgeable and warm. I got the shrimp tempura lunch box and it was perfect. My friend and I sat there eating and talking and never felt rushed. We actually shut the place down (they're open from 11-3 for lunch on Saturdays). I can't wait to go back and try their drink menu.
Tylor Peruchetti
Nice elegant sleek Korean style spot!! Makes me miss being in Korea. Tasty and authentic flavor in the ramen bowls!
Aaron Medlin
What a great place. My wife and I, with our 2 boys (8 and 10) all had a great experience. It has the best vibe, food, and drinks. Sedona took such good care of us, and is one of the coolest people ever. We loved it! Will definitely be back.
Mario Maldonado
Even though it's about a 2 hour drive from our house, it is so worth it haha. The all you can eat is our favorite thing to get whenever we come to town as a group. All the banchan pair so well with the deliciously marinated meats. Definitely check this place out if you want amazing food and an unforgettable experience!
Daniel Richard
Visiting from out of town and dropped in for a drink and some food.... The spicy pork tacos were excellent and the bar staff did a great job so ended up hanging out for a few bottles of Soju.
Jack Porter
Delicious food and very friendly staff! Will definitely be back!
Michelle Young
Delicious food. Reasonable portions and prices.
Matar Emanuel
This whole experience was just wonderful! The food was delicious and came out in about 5 minutes...crazy fast! The service was very good and the place was clean and beautiful. The prices were also extremely reasonable! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone!
Kayela Caton
We love this place, the food is great and the atmosphere is so fun. Definitely recommend checking it out.
Jacob Lasovage
Love this place...staff is amazing...cocktails are outstanding...food is excellent...never had less then a great meal here. Love that the drinks keep evolving
jessie higgins
This is my first time coming here and I was very indecisive and the bartender (Jacob I believe his name was), mixed me up something immaculate without any hesitation. 10/10 recommend this bar for the drinks alone ++++ the food is amazing too
Owen Broadway
The food was absolutely delicious! Everything tasted fresh and seemed to have been prepared with much consideration. It is a cozy yet elegant space that makes for a casual lunch or dressier date. The drink menu is decently priced, though the best deals will lean towards the wine menu. The only flaw from my dining experience occurred with my waiter who seemed a little distracted from my guest and I. However, I would recommend this restaurant for all to try.
Kayla Humphries
Attentive waiter, nice ambience and good food. Tofu bibimbap was awesome- and the stone bowl made it even better!!
C Cooper
Great food and a great atmosphere.
Marlene Gruetter
My husband and I had a delicious lunch at the restaurant. The meals were carefully prepared and beautifully presented. The server was prompt, professional and helpful. The atmosphere very pleasant and clean. It will be one of our top go to restaurants when in Columbia.
Ted S
Good meal , warm and fresh ... Great customer service is always appreciated and this place delivers .
Janet Nguyen
I've been here a handful of times and was never really impressed with the food. But I'm giving it a 5 stars today, thanks to our server, KC, who gave me the right recommendations!! Adding to that- who your server is really makes the difference in experience! She was attentive with our table and I don't think we ever had to flag her down for anything! 5 stars for our server, KC and 4 stars for the food!
Brad Phillips
After reading many positive reviews, we decided to stop in for a quick dinner on a Saturday evening. Upon arrival, we were greeted by the hostess and seated promptly.
Our waiter came to our table soon after we sat down to get our drink orders. We ordered cocktails, which we were very pleased with. Unfortunately the good news ends here.
We ordered several starters and mains to share, but across the board all the dishes seemed to strike out. Most things were just a bit bland and underwhelming, however one particular chicken dish was just simply bad. The meat was not good and had a rubbery texture.
Perhaps we set our standards too high for this place, but unfortunately I cannot say we’ll be returning anytime soon.
Will Smith
Had the Spicy Pork Japchae and I don't think I've ever had anything more delicious. Can't wait to go back and try more off their awesome menu. Such a nice place inside too. Sad the bar is closed cause it's really nice. They had a cocktail called War of the Roses that my wife said was so good we're gonna try and make it at home
Amanda Robbins
Planned a trip here after my daughter's college visit. We shared two appetizers, each had a different entree, and a dessert and everything was great. Service was fast, knowledgeable about the menu and very friendly. I especially enjoyed the stone bowl seafood bibimbap. Atmosphere was cozy and inviting and even when the restaurant started to get busy didn't feel overly crowded. Will definitely go back.
Tina Marie Devlin
AMAZING service by our server Sedona. The Beef Bibimbob was amazing (in the stone bowl). Hot, flavorful, and lots of amazing textures. The Yuzu and Passionfruit mimosas were delish as well. Great prices also.
Tamara Lewis-Daniel
The food and drinks are absolutely fabulous! The chicken bulgogi is my favorite!!
SLV
This place was awesome! Yummy 😋
I was stationed in Korea when I was in the military. So I have had I had some really great Korean food over the years. This was wonderful because it was Korean fusion. It was lots of great choices & had not only Korean food but with a twist. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
I honestly wanted to go another night when I was staying in Columbia, but my daughter wanted to try another restaurant. Had she gone to the Korean restaurant with us she probably would’ve wanted to go a second time as well! Good job y’all.
Matthew Meadows
It was ok. I purchased one of the more expensive items on the menu. When the dish came out the beef was tasty but greasy, A tiny portion of rice and a weird salad thing. There was no easy way to eat the meat without using my fingers. And the description of the dish i ordered didn't explain i would be making lettuce wraps as part of my dinner experience. The cocktails weren't very good. Both tasted like they had cheap liquor in them.
Shannon Lowe
Great atmosphere...amazing cuisine...it's truly an experience for your pallette...take your time...don't forget dessert and a cocktail 🍸
Duncan Frost
We were so lucky to find this restaurant. The atmosphere is really nice and cozy. The food is very good and the proportions will not leave you hungry. The service was both professional and friendly. We had a great experience all around and will definitely be going back.
Tricia
This place is fantastic! I went there for the first time and tried the bibimbap and it was one of the best meals I have ever had! They gave a little side of this smoky hot sauce that made the meal even better. Also, some of the best miso soup, and fried dumplings I’ve ever had! We also enjoyed the Sunday mimosa bar, which was lovely and very fairly priced compared to what you get at other places. Overall I had a great experience and will definitely be returning for that bibimbap!
Euronda Travis
The food is amazing. Drinks are out of this world!!
Mrs. Victoria C.
The food was absolutely delicious and the prices were reasonable. The service was decent. I had the Bulgogi Lunch Box with beef and cheesecake with strawberry topping. I would recommend this restaurant to family and friends.
Lisa Givens
Not as expected. Protein tough in several meals. Vegetarian was good.
Kateisha Robinson
I had a great time at 929. The environment was very nice and the food was great. My daughter and I visited on a Sunday afternoon, so the menu was abbreviated. The choices were still varied and did not disappoint. My daughter absolutely loved her sippy pouch with an LED ice cube. I was surprised at how kid friendly it was. My waitress was also very patient, knowledgeable, and accommodating! I look forward to visiting again on a Saturday when I'm able to view the full menu. I will definitely visit again soon.
Rani Thakkar
Love this place! Discovered it while trying to make new years plans and everything from the service to the food was amazing. I would definitely recommend this for a date night or any occasion. We even got dessert on the house! This place is definitely going to become apart of my go-tos on the Vista!
Jordan Ferres
Cool atmosphere, fast service. The food was amazing, hot, and very flavorful. Not to mention, came out in minutes. Mimosas were very tasty.
Kena E.
Great atmosphere and bartender. Ordered the pork katsu. It was a bit overcooked, but the 929 sauce was really unique and tasty. Will return for the delicious drink options and inviting staff. Hope the owners consider adding Jigae to the menu 😉! Excellent kim chee each time I've visited. …
Shawn Frazer
Nice little place down in the Vista. Went for lunch, and when we arrived on Saturday around 11:30, we were the only patrons in the place.
The lunch menu had a ton of options, to the point where I'm not sure why they would have a separate lunch and dinner menu. My partner and I got the Spicy Pork Lunchbox(?) and the Korean Tacos. The food was just 'okay' in that the meat in both dishes was unfortunately drowned in spice. Korean food is spicy, but the heat wasn't the problem; it was just over-seasoned. I'll definitely be trying this place again for dinner, but I don't know that I'd go again for lunch.
The saving grace for 929 is that the cocktails were absolutely phenomenal. The 'mana drop' tasted fresh and almost peppery, and comes highly recommended, though there were a ton of other cocktails that looked like a really interesting mix of flavors.
I liked the atmosphere, and our waiter was friendly and attentive. I just wish they would narrow down their lunch menu a little bit so that they could focus on a few things they do very well, rather than having a huge selection of items that might be hit or miss.
Michael Cannell
Great food, great service and great place. Our server was amazing and it made the food even better. 11/10 for sure. We'll be back!
Jenna Brown
Lovely atmosphere, waitstaff was top notch, and the food was pretty good. We went here for an impromptu date night and the atmosphere walks the line of being modern and romantic. Large menu with lots of options.
Bear in mind that the food is Korean fusion and not traditional Korean food. The food itself was pretty good, but I think the dishes have been adapted to suit an American palate. The spicy dishes do not pack a punch, but they are still flavorful. If you have that friend that wants to try new things, but doesn't like anything spicy, this is a great choice.
Leighanne Priester
Great service
Great food
Beautiful decor
Wonderful staff
Jamie Gross
Had a great time with my girlfriend. Service was fast and food was amazing. Happy hour draft prices are on point.
Brad Saunders
Spicy pork Korean tacos were spot on and we highly recommend. The rest of dishes were good but portions were smaller for a whole meal and at an expensive price point for take put lunch. This included the beef bulgogi and chicken bibimbap. The bar set up is nice and we would return to just try a cocktail.
Meghan Peeples
Amazing Food, Atmosphere, Drinks, Service, just everything about this place was AMAZING!! Absolutely love it! I will definitely be back and tell everyone about it. I really enjoyed being able to sit at the bar for dinner. We were greeted by Lauren and she took great care of us. Very informative, friendly, and great service! Will definitely become her regulars now. Such an amazing first time experience! Very happy and pleased that this wonderful restaurant is part of the Columbia community now!
Sara B
Bibimbap in a sizzling hot bowl that crisps up the rice on the bottom. It's absolutely delicious. Once you sauce and stir it together, you have a perfect bowl of crispy rice, eggy, umami goodness. The hot stone bowl is a dollar extra but it's well worth it. I love their spicy sauce and the metal chopsticks. Its one of the few places I've visited that doesn't use disposable chop sticks and it's very nice. And now I'm laughing because I just wrote a review praising a restaurant on their utensils and bowls.
Madison Asprey
We love 929! It has amazing food, bottomless mimosas, and amazing service! The bibimbap with the stone bowl is so good. The owner walked around to make sure everyone was happy- great place! We will come here regularly.
Theodore Blackwood
Very impressed. We were looking for lunch on our way to the airport and the menu looked interesting. We shared some "lunch boxes". Lots of different flavors and very tasty! Also probably the best miso soup I've ever had. Camryn was very attentive and non intrusive at the same time. Overall a great experience. Our family left very satisfied!
Brian Kelly (juggernautical)
I took my daughter here for Father's Day. The food and service were excellent. I got the jopche with bulgogi which was delicious.
Tara Minico
Delicious. Super cool atmosphere with a nice look, and cozy but still modern feel. Great drink selection! Good spot for lunch and for dinner. Comfortable seating. Authentic Korean dishes but they did throw in some alternative choices for those looking for a spin on Korean food, or maybe even those who just came along for the ride. :) Either way, food tastes great regardless of your preference . And staff was very friendly and accommodating. Convenient location in the heart of the Vista.
Eduardo López
Great Korean food! Only had water to drink, but I probably should've ordered something else as it tasted like city tap water. Everything else was great though. Nice ambiance and service.
jenn
Busy place but SO worth the wait. Full menu service at the bar which is where we ate. The mixologists were super knowledgeable and friendly. Lots of unique libations to choose from. Food is incredible - fresh, tasty, filling, great variety and served quickly. House made kimchee trio was awesome. Yummy vegan/vegetarian options!
Brian Song
Best Restauant in Gervais st. I love this place! Five star always!
Chris Slygh
Excellent authentic cuisine. Bartender was friendly and made excellent cocktails and better conversation. This is the perfect place to go on a date.
Parshandatha Davis, Jr.
This was our first visit, my girlfriend and I, at a Korean restaurant. When I tell you DILLON IS nothing short of AMAZING!!! He was very knowledgeable and familiar with the menu items, and exceptionally gifted when suggesting menu items since we were unsure of what to order. The chef did an awesome job with flavoring the dishes. Highly recommend this place of business. Highly recommend the Seafood Japchae and Chicken Bimimbap. Whenever you are downtown, check this place out and ask for Dillon!! He’s awesome!!
David
We've done takeout a few times. The Spicy Pork Tacos are incredible. The inside has recently been refreshed and looks very comfy. We'll be back to try the drinks!
Franshetta Carr
They have an extra touch for customer service. I indulged in the beef noodle japche. I ate it so fast but forgot to take a photo. The cocktails are all unique and like nothing I've had before. The spices were a perfect blend for my dish. Hats off to the chef.
Brantley Carter
I can't quit their bibimbap. Excellent Korean fusion fare at a reasonable price; combine this with a lovely atmosphere and a satisfying list of house cocktails, and you have one of my favorite restaurants in the city.
David Moldauer
Hands down one of the best restaurants in Columbia. Even if you haven't tried Korean food you will love this place. I have been visiting Columbia for almost two weeks now and I have eaten at this restaurant at least five times if not more. The first night I ordered delivery on bitesquad. Everything came packed separate and was piping hot. Since then I've gone in for lunch and dinner trying different dishes and everything is utterly fantastic. They also have a small but well-stocked bar and plenty of beer selections as well. Don't miss this place it's a gem.
Liz Gregory
The food, atmosphere, and service we're all great! We'll definitely be back! The spicy seafood soup was a huge hit with my son and husband! The bibimbap was delicious, too! We definitely would recommend the stone bowl for it, though, because it warms up everything and crisps the rice!
J. Kevin Brewer
This place was amazing. The wife and I don't get many date nights and I'm glad we chose 929. They have a great variety from traditional Korean to modern Korean fusion. The menu was great and it was quite reasonably priced. They have a lot of interesting original cocktails and the bartenders are all friendly and accommodating. The cucumber kimchi was top-notch, as were the dumplings. I had the spicy pork bulgogi tacos and I was not disappointed. Do yourself a favor and check this place out.
Reyhan Miller
Delicious, authentic Korean food in the heart of the Vista right off of Gervais St. I recommend the bowls, and for an interesting twist, order the stone bowl and your meal will sizzle. The bar service was excellent and features compelling, original cocktails. Great for date night meal or a cocktail after work.
Derrick Evans
The food was actually good, but we weren’t able to enjoy it as we should because of the service. The waitress gave us the impression that she was annoyed that we were there and trying to hurry us out.
Mike Gillis
Finally, a restaurant in the Vista that has a ramp for handicap folks! Kudos to the owner for that. Besides that, the food and service are top notch. Any bibimbap or noodle dish is great. Go an extra buck and get the hot stone bowl. It was a great experience all around. The owner helped us in and out with the ramp. Very nice folks.
Brian Warren
Great modern Korean style food!!
D. Smith
Great Korean food in downtown Columbia. The food tastes authentic like when I was stationed in S. Korea. The spicy pork stir fry is my fave dish here, but the bulgogi is a close 2nd.
Mister Brown
Let me preface this by saying I lived in S. Korea for 2 years. That being said, I still liked the food here. I ordered bibimbop. It's one of my favorite dishes. For this place to be a Korean fusion, it was above average. Still the taste doesn't compare to being the the country, but it holds on over. I was saddened by not receiving the normal side dishes that are customary with Korean food. I do recommend this place. I'm looking forward to trying the bar and some of the fusion style dishes next visit.
Alisha Holt
Love love this place! Atmosphere is so comfortable and relaxing. Staff is accretive and on point. Food is delicious and creative. The nachos are so tasty!
Dylan Adame
Above and beyond service. The Korean tacos and Cheesecake are to die for. If I could give this place 10 stars I would. Our waiter noticed that my friend was deaf and took the time to learn sign to say thank you at the end of our meal. Her and the entire staff are the best in the Vista!
Emily Adams
I got the spicy pork bibimbap in the stone bowl and it was quite a good portion. The sauce on the side adds a lot of heat so be aware before pouring it all on. I enjoyed it but my only disappointment was that the egg was fully cooked. I'm used to it being a raw egg that sizzles and cooks on the stoneware which is the allure of the dish for me. The Mandu was a good appetizer and service was good but seating was a little too tight on a six person table. Overall a nice addition to downtown!
joseph bulock
Amazing food. Hard to find good Korean food in this area. Service was very friendly, and patient. My wife and I walked in, not realizing the kitchen closed in 20 minutes, and they still served us and made us feel very welcome. The beef bulgogiwas to die for!
Simon Li
Quite a lovely place. Very modern indeed. Had the tteokboki for an appetizer and the japchae (spicy pork), and both were excellent. Friends had the udon and the bibimbop. Slightly less volume but excellent otherwise.
Maria DeFelice
KimChi fries are amazing - and so is the JapChae. Cocktails are always great as well. One of my favorite spots in Columbia - comfortable, pretty and wonderful food. The staff is great also!
Jerry Smalls
929 Kitchen & Bar is a restaurant I would recommend to anyone wanting to try the delicacies of Korean cuisine.
Calvin Miner
Loved the Korean pancake appetizer and Korean pancake dessert. Not one but two delicious egg white-centric mixed drinks. Cool bar staff.
Lucas Kortheuer
Delicious food and awesome atmosphere! Our server was very nice and helpful! If you get the bibimbop, the stone bowl is the way to go. Thank you guys for the relaxing experience we needed after a long day.
Angela LaBord Nash
I enjoy this place so much! The food is always amazing and the service is consistently good. I have had many things on the menu! Don’t think I could pick a favorite! But the kimchi cheese fries are my favorite appetizer!
Nicole Shertzer
I don't usually review restaurants, but the food here this past weekend was exceptional. The wok fried yaki udon noodles with beef were so smoky and delicious. The beef was tender and it was a good portion size. Someone with me enjoyed the bibimbap, but the noodles were amazing. I highly recommend! The inside was also nicely decorated. I'll be coming back.
Chris Yoo
The food is amazing! Highly recommend.
Christopher Hawkins
Distinguished from a lot of spots in the Vista. From the handful of visits I've never had anything but a great food and drinks. Spicy Udon seafood is my favorite - great smokey noodles and spicy seafood bites. Table service was prompt. Bar service was also great, very personable and engaging. Must try if you enjoy "Asian fusion."
David Tarr
Went today for lunch with lofty expectations. Even so, my expectations were greatly exceeded. Terrific fusion as well as traditional Korean fare. One of my top 5 restaurants in Columbia already. Ambience feels like Charlotte or New York even. Service was quick, friendly, and informative. Look forward to going back again and again. Maybe tonight!
Callie Callie J.
I will probably give this place a 5 star rating after I experience more about it (I haven't eaten here, yet, and have also only had one visit). But I give 4 stars for now because the atmosphere is cool and relaxing and also the bar is very nice. I came here for a birthday party last weekend; on Saturdays there is a DJ set late into the night and a small space for dancing in between the DJ area and the bar. Just a chill vibe of a place.
Tanya Hatton
This was our first time at this restaurant. We had the mandolin, seafood medium udon and the beef bibimbap in the stone bowl. The food came our fast, hot and delicious! Our server and other employees were very attentive. The manager even brought out our food and explained the different sauce choices to my companion. It would have been nice to have some kimchi with our meal. The only issue was the homemade soda. I tried the mango version. It was great but my straw had a hole in it, lol. The atmosphere was very welcoming and warm! We will be back,
Jae Kim
Nice place for some Korean fusion food. Would of given a better rating if it werent for being lied to about seating. Hostess didnt offer up available tables because she was holding it for friends. Ran out of the appetizer we selected. The server was excellent and accommodating. Food was good but a bit pricey. I'd go again but being misled or flat out lied to is what is keeping me to do so.
Ardeja Griffin-Nimako
i found this place trying to find different korean restaurants to try.. BEST DECISION EVER. Everyone is so friendly and the food is quick and amazing! I’m usually quite meticulous and nit-picky about reviews but there’s not a single thing i can say that is bad about this place.
The ambiance is so lovely, along with the food and service. I went for the first time last week, and have gone two other times since then! Definitely in my top favourites and there are very few there! Definitely would recommend to any and everyone :)

We all know that Cola is lacking on some dank asian food...but when the craving hits -- I know exactly where to go to get my fix > 929. It's become a buzzword in my friends & fam group "you know what I need right now in the 803? a little 929..." then we all hop in the car and go.There are just some days you need to get a strong one and sit by yourself, ya know? Whether you're a lone wolf or in a pack -- the bartenders will make you feel welcomed and loved. I have one warning: the soju. I know this delicious, seemingly harmless flavored juice is tasty, but beware of your consumption because it will come back and bite you.
Kurt Hamm
I had a taco here during the taco crawl and it was wonderful. I had planned to go today and get another one. Then, I found their lunchbox special. I had the spicy pork. What a wonderful collection of food! You ever had a meal where you zoned out eating it and then suddenly realized it was almost over. And got sad. That is this meal. Go eat here!
holly turlington
Loved the atmosphere and environment. Very cozy space for dinner dates or night with close friends. Food was delicious and prices were decent! One of my new favorite spots in Columbia ❤
Jay Kalin
Taylor showed great service service at the bar and the manager Abby was great she was so nice she made sure my meal was to perfection Abby and Taylor deserve a raise
Cian Robinson
Solid bipimbap offerings. I had the seafood bipimbap, which came in a stone bowl and allowed for the rice to caramelize. Will be back when in Colubia, SC.
Auguste Banker
Overall great place. Clean bathrooms, nice feel, authentic Korean food and noodles. This is a great example of the type of place you would take your date to, or your family that's visiting type of place. Would recommend.
Chris Campbell
They've just open and they are already a new favorite in the Vista! The service is attentive and helpful, and the bites will leave you stuffed. Weather its the noodles or the vegetarian dumplings, you won't leave here disappointed. Definitely worth a visit even if you're not familiar with Korean food!
John Silva
Went here at random while visiting and it did not disappoint. We really enjoyed the food. The bibimbap was excellent and the staff was great. We also enjoyed some very nice cocktails. Highly recommend
James Gregory
Nice ambience for The Vista. Great drink selections. Very accommodating with our food selections. Server was not as attentive in remembering what we asked for, so had to ask twice. I would give 4.5 stars, if it were possible.
Chris Tuff
The ambiance is refreshingly cosmopolitan yet down-home. Food is delicious and taste very authentic! You can see in the clips it’s suitable for older children. Luv luv luv the ice cubes. Definitely a date location.
John A
The spicy pork Korean tacos are my favorite. It comes with a side of the best fries on Gervais street. Seriously, I like fries and these are up there with tastiest top three in Columbia, SC. There are many tasty cocktails and a good wine selection. Also a good beer selection. Go here while you are in town.
Dale Lam
The food is excellent BUT YOU SHOULD CHANGE YOUR HOURS ON YOUR WEBSITE TO SAY YOUR KITCHEN CLOSES AT 2:00pm since you can’t actually come in at 2:10p and eat there. It’s says open until 2:30p that’s misleading. We can at 2:15p and we’re told they were closed
Michael Ponessa
Get the stone bowl for the bibimbap. It's worth it. I had the tofu bibimbap and it was some of the best tofu I've had in the US thus far - I put it up there with the tofu in Hong Kong easily. The rice gets crispy in the hot stone bowl and the entire meal is a delight. My girlfriend had the bulgogi beef bibimbap and also liked it, but even said my fried tofu bibimbap was better (and she doesn't like tofu!). Charming atmosphere great for a date night.
truedreamer25
I have had two very different experiences with 929. One I ordered and had food delivered, which was not impressive so if you are gonna try this place go and eat at the restaurant. I really enjoyed the food when I ate at the restaurant. They have a great soju selection and the bulgogi was delicious; atmosphere gets major points too. Give it a try.
Dr H
Stopped at this place on last night on a whim and glad I did. I had the dumplings and bi bim bop and it was absolutely delicious. The server Lindsay was extremely attentive and knowledgeable. Definitely my new go to Korean spot in Columbia
Sean Sproat
Great new restaurant. The staff was super friendly and helpful with the menu. The food is really good. We tried the Soju Korean liquor, it was very good. Nice to have a Korean restaurant come to the Vista. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Very reasonable price as well.
J Mann
I really like their execution and the fusion of Korean cuisine with some American touches. I had the korean tacos which were really tasty and the seafood tofu soup was very good and tasted much more traditional than I was expecting. Highly recommend this spot.
Clare G
Delicious food and great service!
RandomLoginName BTW
Food was awesome and service was solid. If you want a traditional korean place with the usual bulgogi over rice, this isnt the place for you. A lot of good bibimbap and japchae with modern twists including a bulgogi philly cheesesteak sandwich. I'll definitely be coming back.
L Durant
Delicious!!! I have never been disappointed with the food or service. If you're a fan of Asian fusion cuisine, you will not be disappointed. The food is fresh and flavorful!
David Kennedy (Montanakennedy)
I was dining alone on a busy lunch. They sat me at the bar and I had amazing service. The food was excellent. I would highly recommend!
David VanCamp
O.M.G.!!! The food was fantastic, the service was super and the staff was so friendly. They even brought my 15 year old daughter a piece of cake for her birthday. The fried dumplings were crispy and yummy. The beef bulgogi was amazing. The season udon was Smokey and perfect. Such a great find.
Terri Collier
I read the reviews before we tried this resteraunt. Oh my goodness, it exceeded our expectations. The food was delicious, the service was very nice and helpful, the ambiance was lovely. We can't wait to go again.
Brandon Peterson
Great Korean fusion food, bar has excellent selection, nice cocktails, awesome atmosphere 👍👍 …
Jeremy Hickman
Food is great! Wait staff and was the best. We will be going back again for sure.
Joseph J
A fresh take on Asian cuisine, with an atmosphere well-suited for the Vista. A great choice for brunch, and a very safe choice if you are trying to branch out from your usual restaurant choices. Guaranteed to leave with a full and satisfied stomach.
Thomas Kavoori
Food, Ambiance, & Service was great! Our server also gave a free dessert to my friend because it was his bday! Really enjoyed this place and look forward to coming back (went twice in 1 week).
Ken K
Great authentic Korean food, loved marinated beef with rice, the japchae was amazing too! Decor was nice and modern with friendly staff, will come back anytime.
Hana
Superb cookery. The staff was super friendly and attentive. The Bulgogi Bibimbap and Spicy Pork lunch box were delicious and affordable. I highly recommend their signature cocktails and look forward to combing back soon.
SRoc
One of the best bar selections in Columbia. Smaller menu with attention to detail with all of their food. Great location in the heart of the Vista and very nice place to stop and eat for a date or to hang out at the bar, or just casual dining.
Kay Ali
Whether you're trying something new, like I did, or you love Korean food, you will like it here. The food was FLAVORFUL. Staff was ATTENTIVE and FRIENDLY. Cocktails were EXCITING and REFRESHING. I am definitely coming back.
Robert Weaver
I got the spicy pork lunchbox with miso soup. It was outstanding. I highly recommend.
Phillip Bronsteatter
The spicy pork Japchae has unbelievable flavor! Still thinking about this dish the next day. Everything our group had was great. A must try if in town or live here.
Clarissa Bennett
Food is always fresh and made to order.
Brad Singer
Food was excellent and original. The rice cake for an appetizer had a wonderful spicy kick. The setting is beautiful and the atmosphere is warm.
Jens Knoblauch
Wow! Luchtime today, first time visit. Outstanding high quality deluxe food - fresh as fresh can be & great lunch boxes.🎯
Next time I want to lock myself in for diner & fine accompanying beverages 🍀 Great friendly service, stylish loft architecture.
I can´t wait to visit you again!
Kevin Angeles
Absolutely great service, fast fresh food and the restaurant was pretty busy. All plates on my table came correct and as ordered. Food came out looking and smelling like out of your mother's stove. I would give 10 stars if I could.
Daniel Cho
Beautiful interior, food was fantastic. But the best thing by far was the service. 10/10 service. I dropped a chopstick and before I even picked it up off the floor, a staff member was there to change out the utensil set. But they dont hover over you and constantly interrupt your meal either.
Will Will
From the time I entered to the time I left the customer service was A-1. I tried the Japchae this dish had a authentic Korean taste and appearance. If you enjoy asia dishes I recommend trying this restaurant.
TJ Kimel
Went for the first time tonight. Tried the dumplings, spicy pork bibimbap and spicy pork stir fry. Both came with miso soup. Food was fast, staff was friendly, and everything tasted delicious. Definitely worth a try.
Bin Wilcenski
I really like the atmosphere of this little restaurant and the food is really good, too. There aren't too many Korean places in downtown and few places to get Bi Bim Bop at all, and this one does a great job of both.
Paige Girson
Delicious food and drinks in a cozy, brick walked restaurant. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Once you're seated, the waitresses are very helpful suggesting and explaining menu items.
eslin moore
Food was great my family enjoy....

While on Facebook an ad showed up on my newsfeed, so we decided to check this place out! It's a small restaurant but very charming. Dined around 130/2p, and they weren't busy. We ordered the Lunchbox, that consists of rice, 3 rolls, 3 fried dumplings, vegetables with a protein, and soup/salad. I had chicken with mine and he had beef. Our food came quick, which was hot and delicious! I play it safe with what I ordered, and wished I'd gotten the Bibimbap. Along with the food being great the service was also! We'll return for date night soon so I can try the Bibimbap!
BellDeVry Dubuche
The best food ever, I was stuffed
Jim L.
Not thoroughly impressed. I had the bibimbap and it was just ok. For the price, I expected better. You definitely will be paying Vista prices. With so many great Korean restaurants on Decker Blvd., it's kinda hard to compete. However, if you want to be in the Vista and have a cocktail, then 929 is where you want to be. My one advice to the owner, serve banchan.
Ina Roberts
Always an absolutely wonderful experience here. The staff is exceedingly friendly and professional. The kitchen is insanely fast, always having food out in record time. They have a lot of amazing weekly specials as well.
Jeremy Livingston
Fantastic food and amazing drinks. Well worth the price.
Leticia Chavez
We googled a Korean place in Columbia on our way to the beach and found this place! The food was great!! What we expected and more!! The service
Was also outstanding!! Highly recommend the seafood stone pot!!! Cool atmosphere with great food!!
Taryn Kadar
love this place! the food is amazing. i’ve never been disappointed with anything i’ve ordered. the staff is always so polite, and the manager, trey, is very friendly and accommodating. if anyone is looking for a great place to eat i highly recommend 929!
Kimberly Lee
Words cannot describe how happy the food here made me. 💜THE BEST champong EVER💜!!! It made my soul (seoul hehehe) smile😊. The food, atmosphere and staff are so kind, polite and go above and beyond. My whole family (including my Korean mother that we brought some to-go) enjoys the taste and quality of the food from here. I wish I could give you 10 stars. This is by far the best surprise date my husband has taken me to in the past 21 years together. We have been a few times since. There is something for everyone, even if you are cautious of trying Korean food (which I don't know why anyone would be 🤷♀️)
Savannah Britz
929 is one of my favorite restaurants in Columbia. I love their bulgogi and their spicy pork! They also have a really good drink selection for a smaller restaurant.
DR
Really good! Staff were attentive & kind. Food options were interesting & unique, as well as classic. Great drink specials. Overall lovely dinner!
Derek Matchette
This place is everything I love about Korean food. It is super good. We got the bibimbop with tofu and an app of kimchi. The bibimbop range from $12-$14 depending on protein and similar dishes run that range. The kimchi was $3. The specialty meals were a bit more but nothing over $20 I think. All of it was top notch. And the service was wonderful and lightning fast. We sprung for stone bowls for an extra$1. Anyone who likes Asian food will love it here! Spicy spice too
jerel rosati
I ❤️ everything about the restaurant, except one thing: closing after lunch and not re-opening until 5. And I know many others have shared the same thoughts. You may or may not get a lot of after lunch business, but 929 Kitchen & Bar would become more of a place to frequent and hangout in the afternoon. Cheers.
Bey Aly
Went today & tried the Seafood Japchae & it was just ok. I think the seafood is that frozen bag of mixed seafood (octopus, squid, scallops & shrimp) because it was all chewy/rubbery-definitely wasn’t fresh seafood & definitely overcooked. The Japchae noodles & the vegetables were pretty good though. I also tried the green grape mimosa & that was delicious. I would definitely return because I want to try the Bulgogi Philly Steak. Also, the ambience, decor & service was really good!!
Adrienne Simmonds
Great atmosphere, awesome Korean food with a twist. The tacos and dumplings we so good! Definitely want to check out this place again!
Coral Gresham
Delish authentic Korean dishes in a welcoming and intimate environment. The lunch menu is limited and I'm told changes weekly. I will definitely be back for dinner to try the full menu with staple Korean dishes sure to please.
Tim Christiano
Excellent brunch. Modern and inviting atmosphere. Food is incredible. Shawn is from Seoul and his roots show in the menu offerings. Outstanding customer service. Highly recommend! Try the bloody mary with soju. Excellent Korean food
Rose Helmich
This new Korean Fusion eatery was a fun place to visit. The food was delicious and the prices were extremely reasonable! Most entrees were $12-13. I had the Jap Chae and it was not only yummy but they gave me a ton. Plenty to take home! Others loved the Bimbambap and fish tacos. They had some creative drinks on the drink menu. Located in the Vista, this is a great choice for dinner! Also there is free parking behind the restaurant!
Debi Collett
Entry-level Korean dishes with friendly-but- distracted service. Clean front of house and bathrooms, but dishes lacked the flavor complexity our group is used to from our favorite Chicago locales, leaving us underwhelmed. The member of our party who regularly eats (and professionally prepares) Asian dishes had GI issues after his meal.
Chris Leevy
I have been going to 929 since they opened! Besides the fact that the food is exceptional, the owners are always at the store and make you feel special! Thanks again for taking special care of me today! Please patronize 929 Kitchen and Bar! They are right in the Vista and have amazing food lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch!
James Nowlin
I've had both authentic and Korean fusion here and they were excellent. Great service, good drinks and reasonably priced. A local favorite.
Justin Ciriello
When we arrived, the hostess looked back at the dining room, and said I don't think we have any tables. Then asked if we'd mind sitting at the bar. This is the thing. The entire restaurant dining room is visible from the front. At a glance, I saw 4 open and clean tables, 4. I replied, that we'd prefer a table. So, she said to follow her. We did, and we sat at one of the 4 available tables. I was confused why she would say what she said. Strange.
Our server was very professional and informative. No complaints with him.
They were out of kimbap. The bebimbop was decent but the egg was over cooked.
About half way through our meal, one of the previously available tables was filled with some friends of the hostess. It was obvious from the hugs, flirting, and laughing.
Im guessing she was worried that they'd run out of tables for her friends when we were seated and that's why 4 and 0 are the same number.
The place has a nice atmosphere. It's a little pricey. Probably won't go back.
Konan smith
The food and atmosphere is great. Good service and a variety of drinks. They also have a good variety of vegetarian options. Try this place out!
Christopher Jolly
Great selection of food and spirits. Service is good but you might have to wait for a table.
Anlesh Dangol Maharjan
Korean Fusion Restaurant. 5 star for the ambience
Bill Crayton
A great dinner. Wonderful service. Friendly staff. A place you will want to return.
Jonathan Carmenate
food was great and service was awesome. only reason it's not 5 stars is due to it not being 100% authentic but the flavors were on point! will definitely be coming back.
Paolo Picott
Food was good but had my order wrong
Jason Davis
Cool place with absolutely the best tasting jjampong and bibimbap in Columbia. You can tell that they make them with only the freshest of ingredients. The interior design was welcoming and fashionably decorative. A must if you have any craving for Korean food.
Andrew Wittich
Came to eat here with friends before a wedding, food was delicious and service was spectacular. Wish I could stay in town longer to come back and have some more!
John Tatara
Food was excellent. A variety of unique cocktails. Service was above average.
Mevy Mattox
Great addition to the Columbia food scene! The staff is very friendly and the food is great even when ordered through a delivery service. I generally get the beef bulgogi bibimbap or the veggie bibimbap. The mandoo and gimbal rolls are great too.
Willie Bridges
I had the Spicy Squid and Pork Belly. It was incredibly flavorful and had just the right amount of spice to get the sweat glands working.
The service was also very impressive!
Ann Bryson-Eldridge
Had a fantastic lunch at 929 Kitchen today. The beef bulgogi Philly cheesesteak was flavorful and tender, and the truffle fries were perfect, crisp and clearly truffle oiled without being overwhelming. My husband had the bimbobop (sp?) bowl, with tons of great veggies and beef. It's worth it to get the stone bowl, the rice crisps on it as you eat. Cocktails were great as well, balanced and delish. Can't wait to go back for dinner.
Tony McCool
Great Korean food. Wish I took pictures. We shall return.
See our YouTube channel Coolest Life.
Garrett Roberts
Great taste and thoughtful staff. We had an issue with our meal but they took care of it immediately and let us try their pancake dessert. Must try and great amount of food
Jenni Kuzma
My first experience with Korean food and 929 did not disappoint! A friendly staff, great drink selection, and incredible food made my trip to 929 excellent. I will definitely be back for more!
matt jackson
Great food! Great service! This restaurant offers more modern food items compared to your traditional Korean restaurant. They have also recently updated their menu and added some Korean side dishes for dinner time.
Kari Ann Bitgue
This is my fourth time in this bar. I really love their japchae. If you're not into spicy (like me), ask for their jampong to be mild. Great food! Great ambiance!
Josephine Agrawal
Great service, creative cocktails and fresh, flavorful Bibimbap. Would highly recommend checking out this hip spot.
Ginny Maxwell
Amazing quick service, great food and drinks!
Paula Amador
This was a wonderful experience! The food was beautiful and tasty, the staff was welcoming and graceful and the restaurant was very unique and comfortable. We had the dumplings and bibimbap. Thank you for the experience!
George Jameson
Great Korean food, friendly staff, and excellent service! My wife and I have been here twice and will be back!
Ree C
My daughter talked me into going here and it was delicious! The place is small but we didn't have to wait. The staff was very nice and accommodating. I will visit this place again!
Zaire Aranguren
The place has a great atmosphere, it is quite and even a bit romantic. The servers are helpful and friendly and the best were the appetizers and the seafood bibimbap I recommend to order it on the casserole. 😋 …
Ron Reid
OMG! I need to find a place to have an important off site outing with my bosses, bosses, boss. Service was excellent, very friendly, explaining menu items, etc. Ordered the Bibimbap bulgogi in the hot stone bowl and it was everything! Flashing light adult capri sun drinks. I will be going back and often.
Patricia Barclay
Pricey, Americanized Korean Food
Delicious, upscale, happy hour, but make sure you get your reciept... and soju is $13 for a bottle that costs a dollar in Korea. Glad I tried it once.
Cindy Radford
Very unique dining experience. Each of us had something different and it was ALL delicious !! My first visit.. hopefully not my last.
Stephen Sark
Great food. Stone bowl spicy pork bibimbap is my favorite. Can't go wrong with any bulgogi dish.
Regis Fanning
The food was great, the atmosphere was great, and the service was great! This was the best Korean food I have ever had! I went back for more the next day for lunch!!
Sophia Goberstein
AMAZING! No other words to describe it. Came here once and HAD to come back. The food is not only beautiful to look but tastes beyond amazing as well. Love love love love. Not one to write many reviews but this place has my heart.
Austin Riley
Food, service, and drinks were all great. I wouldn't call it cheap, but it's not crazy expensive. If you're looking for some fun Korean-fusion style food and drinks, definitely recommended.
Robert Brooks
One of my new favorites. Food is consistently great. Staff is friendly and helpful. I've only gone for lunch but the bar looks to be well appointed.
Cheryl Tate
I could not pass up a piece of California Almond Cake in Columbia, South Carolina. Heavenly!
Grayson Hedrick
929 is a great place to have quality food in a relaxed laid back atmosphere. As an incoming freshman at USC, this place is ideal to casually eat good food and study. I look forward to coming back! (The Korean tacos and bulgogi bibimbap are must haves)

Always love coming here. The lunches fries/nachos are a very flavorful appetizer. Bento boxes and lunch entrees are exceptional!
Philip A
Great food, great service, cool atmosphere . 929 is on par with restaurants in markets like Charleston and Asheville. New restaurants in Columbia should come here to see how it’s done. Try the Korean pancake!
P
I have visited this excellent restaurant 2-3 times and their food is very good.
Natasha bryant

Nice place with great Korean food. Solid vegetarian options. Also good pork, seafood and beef options. Maybe in top 3 best Vista restaurants.

If you get a bibimbop get it in the stone bowl. Always go with gochujang sauce (the other choice is good as well, but if you get it get both). Very fresh, very tasty.

The food is great, the atmosphere is great, and the people are great. I'm so glad to see a Korean place open up in the Vista, which means I can visit for lunch!
