Reviews of Zizi's Cafe
Matt Jemilo
Oh my goodness my girlfriend and I had the most wonderful experience here! She has a service dog and the staff was so so nice and accommodating! They brought out some water for him and weren't intrusive in anyway.
The FOOD!! Oh my I've never been excited for Mediterranean food but this place changed that. I got the Adana Kebab platter and I LAUGHED the food was so good. I've never done that before so take that for what it's worth.
Friendly staff, great food, and a family friendly atmosphere--you've got to check this place out
Rohin J
Good food. Little bland for my taste when it came to the wrap. Can definitely use some form of spicey sauce.
Soup was good, bread was good and everything else was good as well. Overall really good. Highly recommend for a Turkish place.

This is what a gold standard local restaurant looks like from where I’m at right now having tried it for the first time. The staff here seem to really care—we had John (tall blonde guy) and he was the best. He’ll hook you up right if you need any guidance. We wanted dessert but were so full and couldn’t decide. He gave us a couple baklava to try and they were delicious.
Really fantastic service with delicious food provided by people who seem to take a lot of pride in what they make. I just love to see food treated in such a respectable and loving way overall.
Doner Iskender platter is a must order. The meat with sauce on a bed of chewy and crispy bread along with the yogurt is top notch.
Lahmacun we were told is as Turkish as you can get, and we loved it. Like a “Turkish pizza” it’s pretty light but very tasty. The pro tip we were given was to put the onions, parsley, and lemon juice on it flat, then roll it up to eat it.
Excited to return. Excited to try the Kunefe dessert, which was highly recommended. Excited to get my butt over to Turkey which I have yet to do.

Overall it was a great experience.
It is a family-owned Mediterranean restaurant. We went to Zizi with our friends, and it was too busy. But they were always good-humored, friendly, and helpful.
We tried Sultan platter and Beyti; everything was delicious!!! It was the best meal 🥘 I have tried in the US. The service was perfect.
Can’t wait to go there again. Really recommended!
There was self-pay parking in front of the restaurant.

we've had this on our "to go" list for a while as i've been passing it on my bike and walking for years. finally stopped in this morning for lunch, and so glad we did.
such a pleasant experience overall (service and food were excellent).
John was a pleasure to meet and was cheerful, helpful in recommending and helping us decide, and all around good dude.
the food was incredible, we tried:
cigar borek (feta)
lahmacun
doner iskender platter ()
doner kebab
baklava
and also the Turkish soda, which i love. needless to say everything we had was excellent but the iskender was phenomenal.
can't wait to go back!

We came here with a fairly large group and were able to try eachother's food. EVERYTHING was exceptional and cooked to perfection. It's honestly hard to say what the favorites were because everything was a 5/5...you really can't go wrong. The next time we come in we're ordering the fish. We saw another table get it and it looked like a very fresh whole fish.

This is now one of my favorite dine in places to visit in Chicago. If you are looking for some authentic Turkish cuisine, then this is the place to visit. The staff is always welcoming and courteous.
I was served some complementary bread and a dish made of carrots, zucchini and yogurt; which is what makes the service of this place unique. I had Red Lentil Soup and Iskander Kabab platter which was delicious, so I would recommend you guys to try it.

Good food quality, very reasonable prices and excellent service! They gave us on-house Turkish tea at the end. All in all, I believe that 5 is a fair score.
Yasmina R
Delicious Turkish food! The lahmajun was absolutely delicious, fresh out of the oven, thin and crispy!!! As for the doner plate, the portions are huge and the food impeccable, very tasty and fresh! I will definitely come back to try out more of their tasty plates! The atmosphere is relaxed and the service top notch! Our waitress was fantastic and extremely friendly!
Asena Kok Yucebilgic
Good atmosphere, clean place, very quick service, good staff. We tried lahmacun, doner, iskender and beyti. All was good, one of the best turkish food in midwest. Definitely recommended if you starve or would like to try turkish food in Chicago.
Ivan Shatilo
Very tasty! Turkish bread was amazing! I love the gyro! But kebab was a little bit dry. But still food is great, 100% coming back there!
öykü akay
Been here multiple times, always delicious and friendly service!! Love their outdoor space as well. Highly recommend for Turkish food.
Robert Wojciechowski (Brb House On Fire)
Addictingly good bread with just the right amount of fluff and crisp. Massive portion sizes. The Pide was our favorite as it just accented how excellent the Turkish bread is.
m m sullivan
Everything was fabulous—from the service to the food. The homemade bread is to die for. Tons of vegan/vegetarian options as well. Give them a try, it’s delicious & authentic Turkish cuisine.

Birthday celebration with dinner at my favorite
Zizi's is my favorite restaurant in the city! The food is amazing! The carrot spread is indescribable. The adana wrap and the doner kebab are top notch! The best of the best. All of their desserts are perfect. If you get there early enough around lunchtime they also serve some great Turkish Coffee. The best of the best!
Yves Francois Ritmo
Some of the most delicious food in Chicago. I love the sandwich - esp the salmon w spinach on the fantastic turkish bread (side of roasted veggies and pomme frite) great carrot appetizer and finished off with chai and a baklava. Highly recommended
Kyle W
Zizi’s is the best Mediterranean / Turkish food in the Lakeview area! It has a small diner feel with delicious & filling food. The staff is very warm and accommodating and service has always been quick. I would 100% recommend it to anyone who loves good food & tea!
Turan Oral
Place is actually amazing - you must go. Has become my go to spot in the neighborhood. Food is amazing quality, good portions, vegetables are perfectly seared.. the list goes on. Incredible Turkish food.
1 year late: Still awesome.. somehow even better! WAY more delicious in person.. eat at the restaurant if you can!
Anton Frommelt
This is our absolute go to when we don’t want to cook. Delicious food, range of options, big portions. Staff is always friendly and welcoming even if it’s just takeout. My girlfriend has celiac and appreciates having reliable options here (especially the lentil soup), but the house bread is delicious if you can do it.
Sartaz Khan
Amazing food cooked and served by the same family in a really nice ambience. We sat outside btw when weather was nice. Was a memorable experience. The bulgur and the Adena kebab was amazing. Knaffa was amazing too.
Maggie C
Such a wonderful Turkish restaurant! Their vegetarian options are to die for (don’t skip the lentil soup because it is AMAZING). The wait staff is fantastic and you can never go wrong with BYOB :)
Aishat Alli
Me and my sister had a great time. The family is so warm and sweet. They made us feel welcome. I had a great experience trying turkish dishes for the first time. The food was so tasty.
Fawad Baig
Not sure why people were reviewing saying big portion sizes, they were super small compared to other Mediterranean restaurants. Ordered an $18 doner kabob platter thinking it would be big enough to share for two people and it came out in a regular size plate with a few veggies and some rice, which isn’t really a platter if it’s regular plate sized. Honestly
Didn’t get our moneys worth. Wasn’t that good overall
Liza R
Authentic Turkish food!!! Ask for the fish baked in salt. Not sure what it is called on the menu. Ask for the smoked eggplant salad. The Sultan Platter is a must for meat lovers!
It is a family run business and it is like a home cooked meal.
The portions are girnormous.
And...end the meal with the baklava or their homemade Polish cakes. It is not the baklava pieces that you get premade. It is freshly prepared and made. Loved it and I do not have a sweet tooth. Comes on a steaming metal dish!
Randa Younis
The food is fantastic! Authentic Turkish, absolutely delicious. We got the chicken donner wrap, cigar burek and cheese pide, the kids loved it. DO NOT leave without ordering the Kunefe, it’s the perfect dessert! The staff were very nice and welcoming. Very highly recommended!
Luna Shotsberger
One of my super favs in the whole wide city! I will drive clear across town to get this grub! The ezme is so delicious. I love it cold and also taking some home to heat up, too! The homemade bread is to die for. Every single thing on the menu is delicious. I love the vegetarian options. Call me crazy and bland, but the salmon is awesome. Of course all of the traditional feasts are far above par. Kazandibi Turkish Flan might be my favorite dessert on earth.
But the best of them all is zizi himself. A man who loves his food, loves his people, and is always good for a chuckle. The sparkle in his eye + kebabs might be the reason I keep coming back for more!
I have eaten here no less than 100 times in my life. It is ALWAYS our go-to for fresh healthy hearty homemade food. The staff is regular, kind and attentive to detail. There is something special when the employees of an establishment genuinely enjoy their place of work. Great spot for take out, dining in solo, groups or a quick snack. Always plenty of leftovers and great size portions for the cost. We love the salted fish, which they masterfully de-bone! For take out, they pack in a metal tin for reheating if necessary. Salmon is always cooked to perfection as well.
Emrah Seckin
Great atmosphere, tasty and delicious food, perfect endings with desert. What would you expect more? This place perfectly located and very friendly staff. This is the must see place before you leave from Chicago. Hint: sea bass is the best...
Zizi is on fire...
Irene Liu
Everything 👍 😌very delightful dining experience!
Turkish Coffee so tasty! The desert is made of honey I think! Very good ingredients used! …
Sergio S
My favorite Turkish food place in the city. Always exceptionally fresh and delicious food with very generous portions. Try their Gyro Sandwich with chicken or lamb, as well as Turkish tea or coffee☕😋
Tiffany Clark
Hidden gem in Lakeview/Lincoln Park area! Huge portions, quick service, delicious food, cheaper prices, and wonderful staff. I have no doubt you will have a wonderful experience at Zizi's!
Daya Devanathan
The best red lentil soup I have ever had! Also loved the complimentary pita/hummus to start and rice pudding to end! The staff is so sweet!
Joey Frechin
This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in the city of Chicago. The food was incredible (homemade bread, falafel, and the doner sandwich / Zizis doner wrap). The service was fantastic. This will be a new go to spot for me.
Doruk Ilgaz
Family run and operated business. Feels like home cooked food. Great, funny hosts. Eggplant dishes are my personal favorite. They customize and throw some in with kebabs too. I love their fishes from Mediterranean. Closest flavor to authentic Turkish cuisine. Very affordable prices, too. Not a fast food joint, not a posh, date spot, but it's a place to hang w your cool folks for great food. BYOB. Liquor store in the block, too. Enjoy!
Jon Amani
If you want the authentic, traditional and home made Turkish dining experience then come to Zizi's. The staff is very welcoming and caring. The dining hall has traditional Turkish themed elements like the colorful hanging lanterns. So after you're seated they'll bring you bread with pickled olives and veggies. I then ordered a chicken shawarma with fries and it was absolutely delicious. Everything, including the bread, was made from scratch. I was so full and satisfied. It is a bit pricey and the wait was a bit long, but with the service and quality I think it's worth it. I would definitely come back with friends and family.
Isra Omar
Zizi’s has one of the best Turkish food in town. It’s so delicious and mouthwatering. Whenever you go there, they give you a carrot spread appetizer which includes yogurt, zucchini and garlic - super
Good. And they include fresh bread that is a-mazing. You can tell the bread is freshly made - no doubt. Other than that, there are a lot of other options to choose from - sandwiches, meat pies, entrees, etc. the couscous is my favorite and it’s more like bulgur. Everyone is super friendly and it’s a cozy environment. They recently installed lights on top the ceiling - to give it a cozy look. Enjoy!!!
Max Ali
Zizi’s is by far the best Turkish restaurant tried so far. Starters, desserts and meat are well-cooked. Rise is not dry and the staff knows how to take care of clients!! Last but not least, the price is definitely a plus!
Olivia
Excellent food and service! Reasonable price. Will definitely recommend to everyone. The bread is awesome!
Kate Hohenstatt
Great food and service all around! Loved the falafel and red lentil soup. Will definitely come back
Cristina M
We had a great dinner! Food was delicious, specially the lentil soup. The hosts were very kind and efficient. My Turkish boyfriend ordered for us and at the end of the meal pointed out the authenticity. From the bread and soup to the baklava and tea.
The FoodieBuilders
Adana Wrap
We don’t have words to describe our love for this cute Turkish Café. Not the very best on interiors but miles ahead of other restaurants in terms of food. Mostly everything’s made in-house and they do a great job with traditional kebabs, platters, and gyros.
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐞𝐚𝐥
Spicy hand- chopped lamb on homemade Lavash with tomatoes, onion, parsley, and romaine lettuce with yogurt sauce and fries on the side.
The meat so tender and juicy, Lavash (the bread) so fresh and flaky, and the yogurt sauce so tangy. Everything was done to perfection. Optimally spiced and very flavorful.
The dish was perfectly balanced and very tasty. Rich in both protein and carbs, maybe slightly higher on fats. Maybe, haha. But c’mon, it was sooo good.
𝐓𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐲
The food’s delicious and they’ve got a ton of healthy options. Everything is appropriately priced, the portion sizes are huge, and the staff is very welcoming.
One of the best places for a budget date night, a good mellow family dinner or a friend’s night out.
John Charlie
Overall food was good, they start your visit with complimentary bread and carrot slaw that's very tasty, our server Zarina was super friendly and very attentive. We would definitely come back again, only thing that was lacking flavor was the falafel.
A. Gerikas
Best Mediterranean in the city, and I’ve been to many. Not going anywhere else but here for my fix. Can’t recommend it enough how good the food is. Everything is home made.
Senay Ozuyener
Everything I ate in this restaurant is delicious. Service & friendlyness is 5 stars!!! I highly recommend to eat at Zizi’s Cafe!!!
Maddie Junkunc
Very good food at a good price with large portions. A perfect place to get takeout with very friendly staff!
Steven Vrooman
Fantastic food! We had a pickup mixup but they delivered the missing items. Things happen but they handled it terrifically. Very professional. The desserts are especially good if you are looking at the menu and uncertain whether or not to go for it. Go for it.
Chris Varner
Ziti’s not only had fantastic Turkish cuisine, the service was the best. We will visit Zizi’s every time we are in the Chicago area.
Aysenur Esen
Delicious food, good portion size, very nice staff and clean place. You can find many options on the menu. I tried zizi's favorite wrap, it was delicious. I definitely will go this place again. Recommended.
Ruslan Zhanybaev
The best Turkish food so far. People are the nicest there. Last time I only ordered lentil soup but they added extra veggie+ chicken soup and couple tasty breads. Thank you guys! Definitely must go place!
Calley Saye
We just had lunch at Zizis and it was delicious! It’s a small family owned restaurant. They bake this marvelous bread fresh twice a day and serve with a wonderful carrot yogurt dip for a complimentary starter. The owners son was our server and he was very warm and friendly and inviting. Would highly recommend, go check it out!
Toby Aldrich
Fantastic food! Spent 12.50 for a full delicious meal. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. Our waitress was very kind and took care of my table with a smile.
Lindsay M.
The food was so incredibly delicious. The flavors, the smells. I had no idea what I was missing. Our waitress was extremely attentive and makes an excellent cup of Turkish coffee. Try the lamb and behold the wonders of the universe.
AMJAD ALKOUD (AK)
Good food, nice people
Lily Bishop
The owner was lovely and gave us mushroom soup on the house! Excited to return many times.
tony huynh
I have been here a few times. It is pretty far for me but worth it. Food is consistant, owner is great, and very good. Another great plus is you won't leave hungry. Desserts are soooo good! You have to get it. OMG.
Other thing is, if you are there with some friends, they allow you to enjoy yourself and not hover to kick you out.
Just go. Its worth it.
Scott Schneider
INCREDIBLY DELICIOUS pita bread and carrot spread hit the table, and the food and flavors grew from there! Go for the Favorite Doners, and don’t skip the flavorful hummus.
Arri Morris
Such a pleasant atmosphere for healthy Mediterranean cuisine. It’s good to be Sultan for a little while.
Mona Meza
They are so so so so good! Turkish food is A-MA-zing! There a few in the city and many people just think they are another Mediterranean place, NO. Their food is to die for. Zizi's Chicken wrap was delicious and their Kunefe ,desert, is top notch. I forgot to take pics and my kiddos are it so fast when I remembered their plates were clean. If you like Mediterranean food you need to try Zizi's. You will love it!
Tito Joseph
Their food and service are top notch. This is by far my favorite Mediterranean restaurant in Chicago, but specifically it's Turkish I believe. Go with the Sultan platter if it's for a couple of people with enough leftovers. This gives you a great idea of how many items on their menu taste. One item I don't care for on the menu are their falafels as it's too mushy for my liking and lacks a crunch that I crave in falafels, but everything else is exceptional. I have only done take out or delivery from them, but already looking forward to my next visit.
Bob Arevalo
Authentic Turkish food. Large menu with large portions. The bread is warm and delicious.
Richard Keorkunian-Rivers
Amazing place for a vegetarian. They practically throw food and drinks at you. Portion sizes are gigantic. Extremely friendly people. I think we're accidentally family now? This place is basically around the corner from us so we'll be back a LOT. 20/10 would recommend to everyone.
Kelly Telljohann
Amazing neighborhood spot! Owner is very kind. It’s the kind of place where everything will be amazing.
Jessie Pilarczyk
Long time fan! We particularly love the falafel, cheese pide bread, hummus, and homemade pita bread. Very friendly service and their outdoor patio is dog friendly!
Badr Alzaidi
I really loved this restaurant! When we arrived, we were professionally and kindly treated by Annabelle, one the restaurant's staff. We ordered Lahmacun abd Iskender Labab and they were very delicious. I recommend this restaurant and it is worth to try.
Byron Clyatt
I went to Zizis insearch of authentic Iskender kebab. I hadn't had the real thing since I was in Turkey. Their Iskander is excellent! Every thing else I ate there was legit too. If you want real Turkish food in Chicago, go no further!
Arwa Younis
The closest to Istanbul we ever felt!
Amazing Doner, best Kunafe 👌
yusuf talha tamer
We went to Zizi’s with friends. It was busy but the owners were really prompt and responsive. The service was above and beyond. Food is one of the best Authentic Mediterranean that i have tasted in US.
Thanks Zizis for the great experience.
Marielle Billig
This place is absolutely outstanding! My family and I just had the most amazing meal here. All of the different types of meats were delicious and the veggies and dips were fantastic! They were very accommodating of a dietary restriction and gave great recommendations. BYOB is also great! New favorite restaurant - definitely check it out!!

This restaurant is a true authentic gem. The food is mild in flavor but very delicious! The owners are incredibly nice and helpful and sooooo friendly. This is a delightful restaurant with delicious food and great customer service, what more can you ask for? Go check it out for yourself, you won't be disappointed!

Turkish style interior. Great foods and turkish tea. Good for groups.
Lisa Love
I have been going to Zizi’s since they first opened. The owner has always been so sweet and generous ~ and their food are delicious! I’ve never had any bad meals here at all. But my go to is always the smoked eggplant salad ~ with their in-house bread. Yum!!!
alyson marie
Love the food. Quality dishes. Customer service is excellent. The staff is super friendly and takes great care of you. The dishes are always on par. There is nothing here I don’t like.

It was everything I expected, it was little crowded due to St. Patrick’s day but the restaurant food was defiantly off the charts 👌🏽 …
Bektur Abdylas
First time dining here and food is azingly delicious. Service is fast. Bread is great, tea is awesome 👍 definitely recommended! Prices are friendly compared to other Mediterranean kitchens! …
John Brockway
Went to another Turkish place this week and was thinking about Zizis the whole time. They have friendly service, the bread is TASTY, and the doner is very, very good.
I now can appreciate that since I tried somewhere else, which was extremely bland by comparison 😂 Keep up the good work!!
Christopher Alonzo
Love this place. The food is so fresh and so delicious. Highly recommend for a variety of Mediterranean flavors!
David Saavedra
The best Turkish restaurant that I’ve been to yet! The food was authentic, fresh, and delicious! Our waitress was very kind, and service overall was on point! The complimentary fresh out the oven bread and carrot dip was a great start to our meal. The Kunufeh (sweet mozzarella dessert) is what I believe heaven to taste like! For sure coming again!
Tamara Placeres
Loved the food, the environment the variety of options.
Very kids friendly too.
Perfect little place!
barmuj
Excellent, friendly service and great prices. The food was so fresh and delicious especially the baked bread and pide. The combo appetizer was great especially the ezme which was amazing! The sultan platter was good with lots of variety and portions were huge! They gave us several items on the house including dessert. Highly recommended!!
Dru Shockley
Simply amazing! Delicious and fresh food, outstanding service that went those extra steps to make it an outstanding experience all around. We can't wait to go back to a new favorite spot.
Ekin Pellegrini
Zizi's authentic Turkish cuisine is top notch! We were specifically impressed with the amazing cleanliness and the incredible service we received with the most wonderful smiles. This is absolutely one of the finest restaurants in Chicago! Highly recommend it.
Indre B
The best Mediterranean food I ever had! We ordered chicken kebabs - the meat was flavorful and juicy. Owner was very friendly and nice, we didnt want rice with the order so he insisted to make a salad which was very fresh and tasty. Also got free bread and carrot dip which tasted delicious! Oh and the hot sauce was amazing too!!!
Seth Goldstein
Best Turkish food in Chicago! Doner sandwiches made on delicious fresh baked bread. Tasty hummus and good salads complemented the meal well. Best baklava in town no competition! One of our favorite restaurants!
foodoverlord
Amazing food! Very clean food and delicious.
Fahad Emad
Amazing little place, super friendly, fast service and clean
And most importantly they serve real Turkish food
W A
Great hospitality, excellent food! Highly recommended!
Robert Edelstein
The owner is very friendly. His homemade bread is AMAZING. Hummus was very good. Salad was good. Lamb chops were over cooked and tough. Veggies outstanding. Baklava was moist and wet not very crunchy. I would recommend them and go back myself. They were almost excellent.
Mary Hildebrandt
I'm almost sad that I hadn't tried Zizi's before now because I was missing out! The food is delicious and flavorful, without being greasy. I ordered for pick up and the inside of the restaurant looks so cute, I can't wait to eat in after the pandemic. The ambiance is spot on. Food was ready in the time frame they gave me, and the staff member helping me was the sweetest human being. I will be returning often!
Sanya Hassan
this place is really good! seasoned well. i think more sauce would be nice since some of the wraps can get dry because they add a LOT of meat (which is a good thing!) also portions are pretty large so i HIGHLY reccomend sharing esp if you get sandwhiches or wrap
Aleah Martin
I was introduced to Zizi's by Turkish friends years ago. I can't say enough about the food and service. Turkish people know how to do food! The food has always been of the highest quality, fresh, and full of flavor. The service has never disappointed. I live out of state now but will keep returning to Zizi's when I visit Chicago.
Sibel Solagan
Zizi’s Cafe is amazing - great and quick service (I’ve only ever ordered via ChowNow and the food has always been ready for pickup earlier than expected), the food is wonderful and sometimes they will throw in a fun treat! The food reminds me of my Turkish grandmother’s - the appetizer combo platter, feta cigar borek, cacik and chicken doner kebab and/or the chicken kebab platter are some of my favorite things to order. Highly recommend!
Gregory Wilk
You get a ton of fresh, home cooked food for a good price. Their salads are fresh and flavorful and the baked bread makes it a meal. I usually do take out but the inside is really nice, inviting, and friendly. Also great staff 👌
Edit- Just ate their grilled Atlantic salmon. A thick cut grilled to perfect flakiness. Spiced with a succulent sauce.
Saker Salm
There food is incredibly good you should always go to that place with your family and friends, don't forget the deserts they taste like you never tasted sweets this good. You need to try the Sultan platter for family and friends, this will be the best place you never thought it would be. BELIEVE ME THIS FOOD IS AWSOME!!!
Samuel Parmentier
Was feeling a bit under the weather and decided to order out from here - sure am glad I did! One melted bosphorous platter and a turkish tea later and I feel like a whole new person! Best Mediterranean food I've had in Chicago!
Sadaf Ebrahimi
Super friendly and kind staff! I love this place. Definitely going back again.
Andrew Platt
Great take out and delivery, especially the platters. And don't sleep on the salads - the eggplant salad and eggplant ratatouille are both outstanding
Rustam Mammadov
This place has the best Iskender kabab in the world!
Tomas Lopez-Betanzos
Delicious Turkish food. I had moussaka and a table mate had kebabs. Both were delicious and more than enough food for tasty leftovers.
Suzan Koknar-Tezel
I lived in Istanbul for six years. I had the Iskender Dinero Kebab - the best I've ever had in America! The Adana Kebab was delicious too. The Yaprak Dolma, Sigara Börek, and Kırmızı Mercimek Çorbası were also delicious. The homemade Pide was to die for. I HIGHLY recommend Zizi's for Turkish food.
Tania Mo
Love this casual, family run place. Our food is always fresh and well prepared. The smoked eggplant is excellent and they serve an amazing house carrot salad with warm, fresh bread when they seat you. The giant “sultan’s” platter is enough to feed 4 people and you get to sample most of the menu highlights. Chicken is excellent-always tender, never dry/over cooked. Skip the salmon sandwich. Big plus-it’s BYOB.
Alexander Hindley
Always been impressed with Zizi's. Staff is helpful and the owner is out-going and does a great job of remembering what you like. Portions are a good size and filling. And I've always enjoyed whatever I've tried on the menu. (Bread is great, Chicken Kabob & Veggie Moussaka are top-notch.)
By far, one of my favorite restaurants in Chicago. Love it.
Cat Demian
Wonderful, very accommodating service (sorry didn't catch the name, but it was a Russian speaking girl).
One of the best red lentil soups I've ever tried. Very tasty bread and eggplant dishes. Lots of vegetarian options in the menu. We will be back.
The only reason I didn't give 5 stars - falafel and rice are needing improvement.
Julie Rice
Everything we had was delicious. The bread was terrific. My children liked the meat dishes they ordered, but it was also vegetarian friendly for me. The owner was quite pleasant and helpful. I have tried other Turkish restaurants, but this is my favorite so far.
Mohammed Alsaffar
Authentic Turkish food, So delicious, Big portions, Reasonable prices, and HALAL! ..... we'll definitely be back everytime we visit Chicago!
Michael Swisher
We stopped in for a late lunch and we're very pleased. The food was delicious and abundant. Neither of us could finish our meals and look forward to eating them later at home. Great Turkish selection, great service and a great price.
brent hillyer
The food is amazing! The family who runs it treats everyone like they are the most important people in the world. I almost don't want to share this place but they deserve all the success and growth they can get.
My favorites are the Turkish Breakfast, Combo Starter Platter, Red Lentil Soup, and Doner Kabab
Joanne Ratkowski Ross
The donor chicken kabab, chicken hummus platter, tabbouleh salad and lentil soup are among my favorites. The chicken is super moist! Excellent service as well. The best part: it’s BYOB!
Emma Sauder
Very polite staff and excellent food!!! They even gave us two items on the house. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend if you’re looking for good Turkish food!
Sofia Mourouvapin
Food was absolutely delicious, outside seating was nice - not a very busy street so it was peaceful. Perfect amount of options and variety on their menu, fairly large portions. Must try the baklava and chai after your meal :) Wish we weren’t just visiting Chicago!
Benjamin Tennant
Excellent service. A must stop when I am in the area. KUNEFE IS LIFE!
Sercan Şengün
Hands down the best Turkish food in town. Lahmacun (Lahm bi Ajeen) is so delicious!
Doğukan Çelik
That Lahmacun was UNREAL! Everything was awesome. I am definitely gonna come back with my foreign frieds who are really wanna try real Turkish food. Service was also so nice, she was so friendly.
Meghan Janci
Wish I could leave more than 5 stars - food is exceptional and service was fantastic! Definite gem - can’t recommend highly enough! We loved the Zizi’s Kale Salad and the veggie wrap!
Hadi Madi
Good food, but little bit pricey.
Aidan Williams
Delicious all around. Highly recommend the doner sandwiches, made with house made bread. They're absolutely monstrous (and come with fries)! Always leave feeling full and satisfied. Protip: get the soup of the day cause it's always amazing but also comes with another piece of house made bread 🤤 …
Luisa Burciaga
I heard a lot about this place, but I've had plenty of middle eastern food. So, I wasn't expecting much. Well, we really enjoyed it. We got the sultan platter & everything was really good. The waitresses were really nice. We even got complimentary dessert.
Samah Khan
The food is excellent here. *Disclaimer lots of misspelling of the entrees will occur. We loved the lamachuns, iskender kebabs and lentil soups. Everything is made fresh in house.* The service is phenomenal. And the ambience is perfect. Staff is super efficient and friendly. I look forward to more dinners here.
Andrew Granholm
There are a lot of Mediterranean places in Chicago, but Zizi's cafe is THE BEST. The bread they make is some of the best I've ever had and it's always baked fresh. PLUS they serve very generous portions (and sometimes give you a free treat or two ;)) What I think really makes them stand out is their UNPARALLED service. They have the friendly and most attentive staff I've ever met (both pre-pandemic and going). I live all the way in Boystown but I will WALK 20+min just to get my food from Zizi's because the food is amazing, the staff is the best and like you'll always want to go back for more.
Josiah Ortiz
Food was wonderful, I tried almost every plate of everything they had. For a Turkish place. Lamb 🐑 and well as. Chicken🐔, perhaps even beef. From sandwiches to fresh dough. Pizza🍕 to burgers 🍔 anything... there plates are clean 23 min wait time for whatever you want. …
Sadık Testci
Thanks for nice service on time & tasty döner.
Janet Armstrong
Zizi’s has become one of our go-to neighborhood restaurants. The food is delicious, service prompt and friendly, and portions are generous, yet very affordable prices. It Is BYOB so we often stop around the corner at the liquor store on the way for a bottle of wine and typically end up with so much food we can barely finish for under $30 for the two of us. That’s how much we’d spend on just two cocktails at a typical chicago restaurant. The only down side is it’s so good it’s hard to stop eating and we are stuffed when we leave. There are plenty of options for meat lovers and vegetarians alike!
Charlie Anderson
This. Place. Is. Awesome. If you love Turkish food, you won’t be disappointed.
I started off with the carrot spread, which was perfect with their fresh baked bread. I also got the feta cigar borek, which were incredible (eat these there though, they don’t refrigerate all that well) and a lamb kebab. It brought me right back to Berlin immediately. I had too much food, and there was plenty to take home.
I told the wonderful, attentive staff that I couldn’t get Turkish food in Iowa, and they hooked me up with some flan on the House. I’ll definitely go back next time I’m in Chicago.
Anastasia Weger
I've been here several times and have always had a fantastic experience at Zizi's! The food is amazing, the free bread is always fresh, and the servers are incredibly nice. I'm always recommending this place to others, and it's one of my favorites in Chicago!
Viktoria Lyabakh
Great restaurant. I really like the food. Everything was clean and everyone was nice. The girl who help us Sevin was super nice and kind. So sweet and friendly person.
Sam K
Zizis has really delicious Doner. It is Turkish gyros and Zizi's Doner is excellent.
Ayse Aydin
Absolutely fantastic! The most authentic Turkish restaurant I've been to. People who are Turks will find this restaurant stays true to the classic idea of what a restaurant should be: great food, low prices, and big portions. Also the bread bowls are always hot and delicious. Highly recommended.
Jackie Grinvalds
Great BYOB spot with tasty Turkish food. Highly recommend Zizi's favorite wrap with lamb or eggplant tower, if you are going for a vegetarian option. They often give a free carrot spread appetizer when you dine in, and the homemade bread is so fresh and warm every time. If you've never been, I also recommend the combination platter for an appetizer. There are a couple of outdoor tables available when the weather is nice.
C Y
This place is awesome! The food is reminiscent of our short stay in Turkey. We've tried the Sultan platter and grilled lamp chops and all very delicious!!! But what really bowled me over are the Kunefe and Kazandibi, both taste amazing! And the owner is wonderful, very nice and friendly!!! Definitely will be coming back here...
Garo Tokat
Zizi's is amazing. I grew up eating Turkish Mediterranean & Middle-Eastern my entire life, and eating here was like being overseas with some of the best recipies I've ever tasted. Ingredients are fresh and of good quality, staff is quick and friendly. Dishes are outstanding.L forward to my next visit!!!
Hailey R
Best Turkish food I've had outside of Europe. The staff is welcoming and the portions are generous. Also had a great cappucino!
Dave Tebaldi
Zizi's is a great place for meditteranean food, and the staff is always really helpful. Whenever a friend is visiting, I always bring them to Zizi's, and they always love it. I even had a friend who couldn't eat 90% of the menu (no beef, and doesn't like eggplant), and the owner put together a special plate for him to make sure he enjoyed his meal. Takeout is always fast, and if it's a large order, the staff will frequently offer a free tea or soup while you wait. Wonderful place, and I love supporting their business.
Christopher Culver
TL;DR - AMAZING food, generous servings, family owned
We had the Kofte with rice, chicken doner pide, falafal and baklava with rice pudding. The kofte was the best ground beef we've ever had, the rice was deliciously flavored and the vegetables were cooked perfectly. The pide was the best 'pizza' we have ever eaten. The falafal was deliciously fried, the baklava and rice pudding went together amazingly and the fresh bread that came with it all was incredible. Sorry to every other place in the area, Zizi's is our favorite, hands down.
Ron Sattar
Great salmon sandwich and carrot spread hmmmm
Akın Akyüz
As a turkish i can say Zizi's is one of the best turkish restaurants in Chicago. Prices are reasonable, portions are big. Their in-house baked pita bread is very good. My favourite dishes are the Adana kebab and the kofte kebab.
Nicholas Dunbar
Great place and wonderful staff. Was brought here by a buddy and loved the place. First time, we ordered the beef kebab and was very tender and flavorful along with the veggies and we had fries. Last night, the lady and I ordered the same kebab and lamahcun which was not bad but she may not had fancied because she thought she tasted eggplant which she is not too fond of. But will go back to try the pinde and the rice was great which I did not have on my first time which had a slight sweet taste but not overpowering.
Alya Ahsan
Phenomenal Turkish food with excellent service. Their beef kebab and sultani platter is spot on. I recommend the lamb and cheese pide as well. For dessert, their Kanafe is to die for. I highly recommend for anyone who likes Mediterranean food. Definitely will be going back here.
Tina Tomas
So far the best Turkish restaurant in Chicago. Great food with large variety in the menu. It is BYOB so you can bring your favorite wine and enjoy dinner with family and friends.
Angela D'Ercole
Zizi's is one of my favorite places to go in Lakeview. The bread is magical and the carrot dip thing they make is addicting. My personal favorite is the chicken or lamb donner. One meal can feed two people, or more often it feeds me with leftovers the next day (yum!)
Zizi is an amazing man: he works harder than anyone I have ever met and always asks how I'm doing. The staff is great too. Pro tip: you can eat outside on the sidewalk patio and BYOB anytime.
Orhan Öçal
The food selection is very broad and authentic. The portions are also of great size. The tea they serve is a blend of three authentic Turkish teas, and I strongly recommend their tea after your meal.
Borislav Petrov
The best Turkish restaurant by my opinion in Chicago. They got big variety of Turkish food, which is always fresh and always on the level that should be. Its a BYOB which make it even better. Very good place to go with friends and share some food and bottle of wine
Pedro Reales
Very delicious and huge portions.
I recommend the dörne and the Turkish flan.
Super friendly waitresses!
Will definitely one back.
Andrew Littrell
Zizi and his staff always make us feel welcomed. Great spot to grab a Döner and his carrot dip and bread are to die for.
yasaman kamyab
Very personable and friendly staff, who give you little delicious treats while waiting for the food. The food is good, you should try the beef kabob, as it’s one the best I had!
Alison Scarpa
I stopped my search for a go-to Mediterranean restaurant in Lakeview when I found Zizi's. Delicious, affordable food and generous portion sizes for dine-in or takeout. Cute ambiance with friendly service. I only have high praise for this establishment.
Must-haves include their carrot spread, doner sandwiches, and lamacun or pizmahmagun wrap. Sandwiches and starters feature their unparalleled homemade bread. You're doing yourself a disservice if you live in the area and haven't eaten here!
Brett von Halle
Picked up dinner from here for the first time last night. The guy at the front was really nice and everything was smooth and quick.
The Food: I got their favorite wrap with Chicken, the carrot spread, a side of falafels, and the homemade bread.
Everything was amazing, except for the carrot spread. I saw it got a lot of awesome reviews on yelp, but wasn't feeling it.
The homemade bread is incredible.
The wrap was perfect, except for the french fries could have been replaced with more bread or pita.
Joe
The bread was warm, fresh, and yummy. Fafel was delicious. But, the biggest winner, was the steak. It was medium rare and amazing. The food was plentiful and easy on the wallet. I will be back there soon! It was so damn good!
Onur Altunbilek
We visit from Minnesota and saw this place on google among many other Turkish food restaurants and decided to give it a try. You will not be disappointed with the food and the friendliness of the people who work and own this place. It was another friend of mine and I but we order Meze plate, salad with both chicken and beef doner, eggplant with cheese, lahmacun, Adana kebab and for desert kadayıf - (the desert was a complement from the chef and the owner). Everything was delicious, we were crazy full and did not eat until breakfast next day but it was worth it. This will be our regular stop whenever we visit Chicago. Thanks for bringing a true Turkish taste to Chicago and being friendly with your customers.
Peggy Sabol
Welcoming and charming owner. Big menu with many veggie options; portions are large and food is very good. Reasonably priced. Pleasant setting plus outdoor seating. Not noisy
The ZiVi Show
This place is by far an underrated spot , they have such tasty and unique flavoring in the foods and the staff is always so welcoming and kind ! They got to know us since we always order and they send little treats for our office with some orders, the tomato bisque soup is a must, I don’t even like tomato soup but I’ll only order it from here !
Tony Zee
The beyti Kebab was of poor quality; the fries were the best part of the plate. Overall, the experience was very disappointing, since we're really looking for a convenient Turkish restaurant to frequent. This simply is not it. Not recommended.
Frankie Montanez
Great place! Fresh, fresh fresh food!! Love this place
Nadia Alexandra
We love Zizis!!! My and my husband's favorite restaurant in Chicago. Byob is great, too. The owner is so friendly and they treat their customers with kindness. Try the white fish for a spectacular dinner performance.
Elizabeth Gritter
Zizi's is one of our go-to restaurants in the neighborhood. Scratch food that tastes great! Dine in if you can. Casual ambiance, byob, complimentary carrot dip, the best fresh baked bread, and nice portion sizes. Plenty to share and leftovers to bring home. Highly recommend the veggie moussaka!
Dr. B
I'm half turkish and this food is phenomenal! Amazing service and amazing food! Everything we ordered from iskander kabob and donar kabob to the meat pie to the soup to all of it! We will def come back again!
Greg P.
Had the Eggplant Lover's platter which was excellent. They also threw in a rice pudding on the house which was nice of them. Highly recommend Zizis
Jessica Gonzales
Ordered the Zizi’s chicken Wrap and Zizi’s doner wrap and it was AMAZING. Everything was fresh and hot. French fries sooo good. Fresh warm bread is delicious! Friendly staff and attentive. Def coming back!!
Mariana Adabuk
Coming to Zizi’s feels like coming home to a family member who has been waiting for you with amazing food prepared.
Their desert kunefe is out of this world! Kofte (Turkish meatballs) are outstanding. Bread is to die for. Owners are the nicest people.
It’s awesome for lunch and dinner. Definitely “must visit” and “must comeback” place.
Christopher Amt
I've had Zizi's many time before, and it's always excellent. Writing a review because the Doner Iskender was hands down the best thing I've had since the beginning of 2020. Bravo!
Caitlyn Cooper
I have been searching for an authentic turkish place and it tastes EXACTLY like my favorite Turkish place back home. Friendly wait staff, fast service, incredible food. They will not disappoint. Will definitely be coming back.
Afaaq Siddiqui
The food is very well served, perfect timing. the Owner as well as the staff members are very friendly and welcoming. I would recommend everyone trying out this place. The food was delicious, I came went with my friends and they all loved it.
Patrick Panayotov
The food was delicious, the bread was incredible, and the sauces brought everything together. Friendly staff and a great atmosphere for dinner. Would recommend to save room for dessert as well!
Aidan Perrizo
Best delivery I’ve had in a while. Food was good. Price was great. Portion was ample. And it came in about 25 minutes. 0 complaints. Will be ordering from them again. Got the lamb Doner and Cheese burek. Both were solid.
Jessica Bardwell
As someone who doesn't eat a ton of Mediterranean food, I can honesly say this is the best I've ever had. Everything was flat out amazing. Came in with an open mind, left with a fully stomach and extremely satisfied. I had a wrap and was more than impressed while my boyfriend had iskinder and was equally as impressed. The Esma is a MUST if you enjoy salsa even a little. I will rave about this place for years to come. Can not wait to come back and I haven't even left the building yet.
Shaan Somani
Food was really delicious. Highly recommend the appetizer combo platter - it's quite filling. The custard dessert was also great. However, service was quite slow.
Maria Pekelis
Welcoming and charming owner. Big menu with many veggie options; portions are large and food is very good. Reasonably priced. We came prior to a concert and the service was fast and efficient.
Kelly Stifler
I’m obsessed with this place!! They have a great $7.95 lunch specials M-F. I always get the Chicken Adana with rice and it is soooooooo good. They also have delicious soups and wraps!!! Definitely suggest this place if you’re looking for some great food :)
Hannah Lauer
Owner Zizi and staff are so lovely; a great byob with a friendly atmosphere and excellent food. Great place for family style group events.
Emily Z
I ordered take out through Yelp, or Eat24 I think, and everything was both presented and packaged nicely.
All the food was good and really fresh. The top three dips or spreads were all served with a huge fluffy piece/loaf of bread, three in total. Sadly, due to its thickness, not as nice as other pita type breads for dipping.
Carrot Spread $4.25 - Was really garlicky but good.
Hummus $4.75 - I've had better, but probably just a preference thing
Tabouli Salad $6.95 - a little different than I'm used to, but probably just more fresh!
Zizi's Favorite Pizmahmagun Wrap $9.95 - Its huge, with lots of chicken and a strong onion presence. I would get an extra order of the yogurt sauce next time. The fries were a tiny potion and really soggy, but I expected that as it was carry out so no biggie.
Samuel Tan
I had the kofte wrap. The wrap was freshly toasted, giving it a nice crispy texture. The kofte was nicely flavoured and grilled. It was juicy and there was generous portion of it.
The fries that came with it were very crispy and not greasy. It had a nice, light flavour to it, plus it was seasoned just right.
The service had its pros and cons. Our server was the youngest son of this family run restaurant, he was probably around 10 but acted very much like a little man. The wait for our food was rather long, about twenty minutes. Given that we were the only ones eating, this seemed incomprehensible. We looked over the open kitchen and saw that they had a lot of takeout boxes being filled up with food. I guess the smart thing would be to order in advance. However, there was a saving grace. My wife had actually ordered the chicken wrap but they served her the lamb/beef instead. Upon realising their mistake, they promptly served us a plate of chicken. It was beautifully flavoured with spices and was juicy.
Would I go back again? Sure, the food is great. I'll just have to be prepared to wait.
Claire Savage
Really great food at a good price!! The falafel is awesome as are the salads. I don't eat meat but the meat looked great - can't speak to the taste. Definitely try this place out of you are in the neighborhood!!
Charles Wilcox
zizi's is wonderful. The owner is usually there and his wait staff is very friendly and the food is excellent. it is BYOB so it turns out to be an inexpensive place to go and a lot of fun. I've also had them cater parties for me and they do a great job. very reasonable.
amar mo
ZizI Cafe is amongst the best Turkish cuisines in America. It is a family business and you feel that when you walk into the premises. Very welcoming. The food is great, the bread is unbeatable, the trukish Çai (tea) makes you feel you are in a cafe at the bosphorus ! I do like the kebab, the muskka, kenafe and the breakfast the most. thanks for the hospitality and the great food and wish you all the best
Didar- Dissecting ECON
The food was absolutely delicious! The server was friendly and sweet :) liked spending time in there.
Herb Wheatley
Phenomenal food, and the all the staff are incredibly friendly. They make you feel like the most important person in the city.
David Needham
If you're looking for schwarma this is some of the best you can get. I came in once for lunch by myself and another time with group of 10. Both times I got Zizi's favorite, and now it's my favorite too. Zizi's son was our waiter and Zizi and his wife were in the kitchen. The fresh baked bread they serve is delicious. The portions are large. The hummus platter has a ton of variety. And the dessert (sort of tiramisu with a flan-like texture) was the perfect finish for the meal.
Thomas Stabnicki
I love this place! The food is simply delicious, the wait staff helpful, and the venue comfortable. And its inexpensive too! I've been dining there once or twice a week for about a year: never disappointed.
Meena Beena
I went to Zizi's with my coworkers once and it made me want to come back on my own. When iw ent with my girls i was doing keto and it was extremely easy to be keto here. But, since i no longer do it I wanted to try their doner sandwich cause I grew up on them in Germany. It was extremely close to the authentic. The gyros was delicious and the cacik or tzatziki brought back memories. The fries were soggy so I didn't like that. I wish they had an option to just buy the sandwich on its own. Other than that I'll definitely be back.
Martin Hallman
Great food, great service, authentic, tasty and well presented. The owner is really sweet and will make sure your stay is worth while. I lived in Izmir, Turkey, for a year and while nothing will be same - this place certainly has what it takes and we will definitely come back.
Rae Shuman
Zizi's has amazing food and the owner and waiters are lovely. However,if you are in a hurry, Zizi's might not be for you -- the service is a little slow, and they are easily overwhelmed when the restaurant is full, but if you've got the time it's absolutely worth it!
I suggest the falafell plate -- I don't like too many falafells I come across. There are good vegetarian options and meat as well, and of course the fact that it's BYOB counts a lot!
Kelly Nelson
I loved this place-The bread they serve is delicious, the server was friendly and the main dishes we get were wonderful and a good price. We sat outside on the patio which was pleasant but had a lot of street noise. I would definitely return!
Alaina Akcakaya
Hands down best Turkish restaurant I’ve ever been to. Food is fresh, well presented and most importantly delicious. My husband and his father are from turkey and say that the food is very authentic as well.
Cem Akatay
Zizi does an incredible job with hard-to-make authentic Turkish dishes! This is my favorite restaurant in-town for Turkish cuisine. The restaurant is clean and well organized. The service is kind. Definitely recommend this place! Try some "Begendi", pide and baklava! Amazing doner, aka gyro!
Sami basheer
The place was very good and clean, the food was very tasty and flavorful. The lamb and cheese pide was my favorite. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for Mediterranean style cuisine
Linda Munoz
turkish food, mmm, delicious. got there near seven, it wasn't very crowded. the staff was sociable and attentive. bring your appetite because portions are generous.
Belle Lopez
BYOB. Turkish Breakfast on Sundays. 👍👍Trek-worthy. Excellent portion for price. Best to share dishes. Clean, well-seasoned dishes with just right proportion of ingredients. Through open kitchen, you can observe that food got plenty of TLC.
Complementary BREAD and chunky CARROT SPREAD. 🤗
I enjoyed the spread of Smoked Eggplant (aka BABA GHANNOUJ) with plentiful of Döner Kebab strips. Nicely roasted veggies. BULGUR is couscous' cousin twice removed. 😲. Wishful thinking to get a pot of TURKISH CHAI TEA next time instead of a teasing cup.
Skip the beautifully presented TURKISH COFFEE as I think too much coffee grounds took more space than the coffee. Feeling gypped ya' know. 🤔 I had high expectations for KAZANDIBI due to online photos... boy, I came back to Earth real quick with Zizi's casual firm custard.
Hunan Chaudhry
Halal Turkish food. What else can you ask for. Asked if we were fasting and gave some things to open our fast even before ordering. Service was a little slow but the portions etc were great.
Claire Meyers
The food is really great, with so many vegetarian options, I highly suggest their hummus wrap. The prices are also really reasonable. However, the service is really slow, a meal will take an hour at least. It is also BYOB and the owner is really nice and very welcoming.
Deniz Hinz
Zizis is the best. Completely authentic and delicious Turkish/Mediterranean food! My mother is Turkish and she couldnt believe the food when I brought her here. She said that they dont even make it this good in Turkey anymore.
Kseniya Song
I tried their food at the Turkish fest and loved it, so decided to go eat at the cafe with my husband the next day. Was a bit disappointed in the quality of food (specifically, the meat seemed dry and hard to chew), and service was very slow.
Jacqueline Beaulieu
Great service and delicious food!
Rob D
Outstanding service. Delicious food may be one of the best falafel wraps that I have ever had. The value you receive for the cost makes this a must stop
Fred Spreen
Neighborhood Gem. THe owner (Zizi) is a great restaurateur that greets you with a smile and treats you like a friend, always. Food is fresh and prices are very fair. Try the steak kabob and you'll return for sure! They have a fish dish that is served flaming so bring your camera and impress your followers. LOL
Nazlihan Kavak
Such a great Turkish restaurant! Was here just this evening. Amazing food..the lahmacun was the best I've had in the states, as was the İskender! Excellent service, and such wonderful ownership. I'd recommend Zizi's to anyone!!!
Anuj Sahni
Zizi's is definitely a unique Mediterranean food experience. Starting off with the highlights, their bread is amazing. It's not really like pita bread that you get at every other place. For one thing it's totally oven fresh and it's kind of like this puffy sour dough bread which is perfectly warm and toasty and crispy and soft all at the same time. It was awesome.
The bread was the best part of the Zizi's menu. I didn't particularly care for the hummus. They give out this shredded carrot thing with that awesome bread as a complementary snack when you first sit down and that's a nice gesture. The falafels in the falafel sandwich were kind of hard/tough, even though they made them fresh to order. Oh, and there's no hot sauce. They actually serve Sriracha. I thought that was kind of funny. :-)
Well, I wish I knew how to make that bread... actually, I've only had bread like this at the Mediterranean places in Detroit. Amazing bread out there... But those are still pita breads. This was different. More like bread bread, than pita bread.
Service and decor and all are fine. It's a relatively large space.
Luca Dalton
Delicious falafel and kind owner/staff! Thanks Zizi’s!
SteeleDan 710
gentleman recommend the Doner Sandwich and I gave it shot. hands down amazing, fresh and the price is right for the food. the sandwich was twice as big as I thought it would be. thank you guys!
Michael Saric
Great food at a great price! Owner and staff are always friendly and sometimes give a free dessert to frequent customers. Also the pita is delicious and always served warm.
Bilal Ahmed
Food was very delicious and served quickly. Restaurant is a family owned place with a family feel. Very good location right on sheffield and great place for students. Their Turkish Doner is one of the best items there!
Nermine Dauti
Great food! Kind people. Definitely made my stomach feel like i was back in Turkey. Totally recommend this family restuarant!!
Michelle Choi
Yummy Mediterranean food. Very convenient walk from our place. Great service. Very nice staff. Good for lunch or dinner. Would recommend!
Firas Alkhateeb
Always amazing and fresh food. It's the closest thing to Turkish food in Istanbul that I've found in Chicago. The İskender kebap and Adana kebap are especially great.
Fares Alahdab, MD, MSc
Loved it! Was brought here by a friend. The staff were gteat and took really good care of all of us. Food was AWESOME!!! Try everything. You'll never regret it. Including all the desert. Would definitley come again.
Samantha Kummerer
Cozy atmosphere, and comfortable seating. Great food and excellent serivce. Owner brought dessert to our table on the house and it was so delicious! I will be coming back and reccomend to family and friends!!!
Christopher M Hernandez
Really good turkish place. Great Doner especially beef/Lamb. Generous portion sizes. Awesome fresh baked bread.
Dara Davis
What first attracted me when i entered is the decore... Well picked and well distributed... The beautiful painted entry is a masterpiece... The chandelier... With their beautiful colors... The decorative plates ... And the blue eye scattered everywhere... One more thing attracted my beauty loving eyes is the mirror in the restroom area and the beautiful restroom decore...There is really something relaxing and beautiful about this plane... Although the place is not big but it is very cozy and welcoming...
The food is another story... You know that a place is top quality when they are not afraid to show their cooking area ... The food is very well made.. Delicious and fills easily the senses to reach true happiness ... The saying good food is good mood is not coming out of no where .... I totally recommend this place for good food and a good mood
Ps. Playing turkish music would b a nice addition .. Thats what the place lack to complete the good mood part.
Masa Iraqi
An amazing Turkish cuisine the food is fresh and tasty. The atmosphere is very calm and refreshing. I enjoyed my food to the full.
Maria Ayala
Delicious!! Very fresh everything was handmade. Owner was beyond kind. He offered us a complimentary dessert. Will recommend to others. I will definitely be back!
Vineet Sandill
Had food from here for the second time today. Yet again in awe of the flavors! Outstanding stuff! Highly recommend this restaurant
Andrew Cook
One of the best Mediterranean spots in the area. Everything I've ordered here has been delicious, but the carrot dip is incredible!
Lauren Dykens
This place is wonderful! Delicious with lots of healthy vegetarian options. Highly recommend!
Ashley Duda
Chicken kabob platter and red lentil soup are DELICIOUS!
Omar Uddin
Very good authentic Turkish cuisine.
However, the restaurant closes at 9:30, not 10pm (assuming kitchen closes at 9pm as we were told the restaurant was closed at 9:10)
Hal Tezcan
One of the best Turkish restaurant in Chicago. The meat thin crust pizza style "lahmacun" is literally the best in town.
Jeanine Baran
So delicious with kind people working...a winner
Stuart Robertson
Truly standout. Their wraps are healthy and really tasty, lots of veggies and thin home made bread. Hummus, tahini etc are all home made, everything I tried has been impressive
ahmad abuta
great dining experience. The food was good but not a five. I would go back and try again when I'm in the area again.
Lulu
I ordered falafel. It was ok
Zeeshan Bakhrani
adeni kabab ia great. the fresh bread they give you is amazing with the carrot dip 👌👌 always great service. food is halal. 3-4 tables for outdoor seating …

Friendly, fast service. The iskanander kabab was delicious!! And the hot, fresh bread they give on the side is excellent as well!!
Hanna Gibson
I love this place. The bread is delicious with the carrot spread!! I always get the egg&cheese pide and salmon platter.
Ivan The Terrible
Very happy with this simple but great food, tastes just like in Turkey. Will come back for mercimek and tavuk shish.
Özgür Dağlar Sağır
They got almost everything we couldn't find in the USA. Lahmacun and Döner was amazingly delicious. One hasn't taste Turkish food yet should visit this place.
Esin Soy
The food is fantastic even tho the service can be a bit slow. I gave 4 stars because we found a melted gum in our pita bread one day. Never happened again and the owner didnt charge us after the incident but thinking of how it might get in there at the first place is somethting we consider anytimr we want to go back to Zizi
Maria Siwak
Amazing Turkish food, always fresh, made from scratch, great prices, fantastic atmosphere, extremely nice service!
Nemah Rahman
Food here is good, but they don't really have sauces when you want something extra with your meals. The dish I specifically got, I didn't like, but other dishes were good.
Ali Dakhlallah
This place is excellent, their service is great and the food is even better. DEFINITELY recommend, I had a great iskendar kebab and it melted my heart and I had an amazing desert
YUSUF KEREM midyat
Everything including the deliciousness of the food was so good.
Martin Gjurov
Amazingly good food and even better service, will be back here again. Thank you!
