I had the pleasure of dining at Georges restaurant in Bridgeport Chicago recently and I am so glad I did! The food was absolutely delicious and the service was top notch. The atmosphere was cozy and inviting, and the staff was friendly and attentive. The menu had a great selection of dishes and the prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend Georges restaurant for anyone looking for a great meal in a comfortable setting. Five stars all the way!

High-quality classic Greek diner, exceptional food and lovely staff. Family owned old school Chicago joint, will definitely be back. Large roster of diner food, everything I've had there was very good. Get the "seasoned fries," their crispy thin-curly curly fries are to die for. Everyone there is super friendly, feels like a real community space. Support places like this, it's just as inexpensive as mcdonalds or burger king and FAR better food/environment. Plus you're supporting local community members rather than a faceless international corporation.

A Bridgeport staple, this old school diner has been around for a long time.Great food great service just be prepared to have a little wait. Everything is made to order and they are always busy. Great soup, chicken pitas, burgers and dogs. Great value for anything you get.

I use to come here as a kid but then i left the neighborhood. When I came back around I thought they had closed but they had only moved down the street as I recently found out. I went back recently and its still as great as I remember. Same owners but I believe it's his daughters running it now and they did not disappoint while being sassy and real (true Soxsiders)but not rude. They took care of me and my son with super food And laughs . I had the Gyro which was the best I've had in a long time. We also ordered Dbl bacon cheeseburger 👌🏽👍🏼 Italian Sausage so delicious and their beefaronni soup 👌🏽😁 i plan to go back soon and make this a spot I frequent again like I did when I was a kid. Ever since my wife left me and my hamster died I haven't had much to look forward to. George's Gyro's is one of the exceptions. Despite the name they have more than just gyros. They also have soup. If they don't have it on the menu here, you don't need to be eating it. If you live in Bridgeport, you're already eating here. If not, do yourself a favor. Eat George's.

I am a fan of Chicago's Best, and I saw George's Restaurant featured on an episode. You do not want to know how many times I have driven by this place. When I entered the restaurant, the staff greeted me with a smile. Although "chicken on a pita" was the featured meal, I tried the gyro. The pita had the right amount of char, the thin strips of generously seasoned meat spilled out of the pita, and the tomato and onions were garden fresh. No sauce on the sandwich. I always ask for tzatziki sauce on the side. The fries were good too. George's is so close to home. I cannot believe I drove to 130th for years to buy a gyro. I will be back to try the chicken on a pita.

This is my absolute favorite place in the neighborhood! Been coming here for years! They recently remodeled 🤩 which looks amazing! Their prices are cheap/reasonable and the food is always fresh and delicious! Love the staff/ladies there! they know their regular so well, makes you feel like family ♥️ I always recommend George’s to my coworkers and family. Parking sometimes is hard since it’s a busy location but I usually call in prior for pick up. Quick in and out! High recommend their Italian beef, Chicago dog and chili fries 🤤

So tonight was my first night trying George's. I've been craving a gyro for 2 weeks. Since I've been hearing about George's lately (Instagram, Chicago's Best most recently) I decided to stop. I got the gyro special and beef-a-roni soup. Couldn't wait to get home to break into it. I gotta say when I took the gyro out of the bag I was disappointed. It didn't look all that big, to be honest. BUT WAIT...... I unwrapped this thing and it doubled in size!!! It's like the ladies that made it were trained by the sushi roller pros. Or like when you get a small fried rice from the Chinese takeout and there's actually 2lbs of rice in that little box. Same thing with this gyro!! It was packed with meat. It was delicious. The beef-a-roni was a little too salty for me, but still tasty. I will definitely be back to try more. Thanks for a new place for me to eat in the neighborhood.

I walked in with high expectations after a friend told me its a must. It is!They have amazing burgers. Fantastic burgers. Fantastic fries. Fantastic apps. Excellent service. We stopped in for lunch on a Thursday and were seated immediately. The ambiance is hip. The music was as tasty as the burgers. Vegetarians need not despair there are a number of items on the menu to choose from that can satisfy almost any palate. They offer a great range of delicious food. I love dining here. The employees are always very welcoming rates are reasonable and the spot is always clean.

I almost feel reluctant to give a review because I have only eaten 3 things from this restaurant: the gyro platter, the chicken gyro platter, and the Greek salad. But I’ve been there like 30 times. I guess you could say those 3 meals are so damn good I’m almost apprehensive to try anything else but I happen to know everything there is just incredible. This place is really a throw back style gyro joint- very cool staff, nice friendly neighborhood vibe, great food and orders are filled quickly- if you want a gyro or good Greek short order look no further and it’s literally on the corner of 35th and Halsted so it’s easy to get to even from the X-pressway!!!

It's hard to make good crunch tasty fries and these people nailed it. Its one of the very few places around were they serve you your food and you eat first and pay as you leave. Try anything with **chicken breast** on it.... salad, pita bun, wrap and you'll love it. 100%.great place for a quick bite that's CHEAP ...... FYI. Chicken takes 15 minutes cooked FRESH (tastes marinated?). I usually get Chicago Bears special double cheese burger, fries, pop, cheap and excellent quality, always cooked to order ! **Oh and the cream of chicken rice is always excellent.... I wish they had fresh cut lemon but, no biggie!!

Gotta love it😋. I went to Freddie's on 31st for a Italian beef paying $18.73 for one beef and one fry. It wasn't worth it in any kind of way. It was as if I cheated on George's and downgraded myself. Funny, friendly staff! The fishtank inside the place was super cool and gave a cool ambiance! Kept me busy while I waited for my food. I craved a gyro, so I took a drive here. I was not disappointed. I decided to get the BFG because I was hungry, man, I was not let down. The gyro was probably as big as my HEAD. They have the best fries and hash browns in Bridgeport. Out of the diner and "greasy spoon" type places I've been to, they're my favorite and when I go to a diner that's not them, I feel myself comparing and ultimately just miss George's. They're salads are great, the gyros are awesome, and the owner makes her own cucumber/tzatziki sauce which is amazing. I have tried to go to other places and no one has her sauce. And they finally any of their soups are delicious so everyone should try at least one. Note: Everything for burgers mean: Ketchup, mustard, pickle, tomato, and grilled onions. If you want lettuce and/or Mayo you MUST ask for it as that isn't they're "everything". Also, EVERYTHING is made to order so if you want well done fries, it's going to take a bit of time, no complaining. This also goes for when you order grilled chicken, it's going to be longer than if you order a hot dog or gyro. Recommend: Farmsteak on garlic bread w/cheese( I usually get swiss whenever I get cheese) Gyro special (it comes with fries) or the hawk special (which is a gyro special with a can of soda) Any salad is great but a Greek salad with grilled chicken is delicious. Sides and bites I like: Fried pickles Mac and cheese bites Breaded mushrooms A whole pickle Breakfast is also great, but it's only served until 11. After the lunch rush you can often request, but be warned, it may be a bit of time because breakfast takes up a lot of the grill so they can't do too many at once.
