This diner filled me with nostalgia for a simpler time. I love the music from the 50s, the period posters and decals hanging on their walls. The food was decent and I'm super grateful they're open 24/7. Hope this place stays open forever!

Ate here for the first time In a long time recently and my thoughts are: I'll start with the good. The food was really good. Really tasty with good portions and it came out in a timely manner. The employees I had interactions with were friendly but i think they need to keep some things a bit hidden. Some complained about being overworked among other complaints I heard. Employees complaints and their discontent should be kept away from customers and not made so known outloud. The atmosphere just seemed a bit disorganized with the employees. Another improvement I would like to see is some renovations done to some of the seating. Our seats were all tore up and kept coming up like there was screws missing. Most of the seats need to be reupholstered.

This was a pleasant surprise at 1 am after driving all day when we needed a hotel room and food. The food was delicious. My husband and I both had burgers and shakes..... real shakes. No powdered mixes here! Yum! Staff was nice and service was good.

We are a family of 6. We had great service. Staff was helpful. My teenagers loved their food. My husband and I ordered Chicken Fried Chicken and it was amazing. 6 meals and drinks under $80. Next time we’re in town we will be back.

2nd experience coming here,, and still pulling down 5 stars, great service, great food, came for dinner and was not disappointed! Just need some 50s music to complete the experience! //// 1st time experience here, but not the last. 50's experience with period advertising on the walls, great food offerings coupled with awesome service from start to finish makes for repeat visits. Came for breakfast but will make return for dinner. Worth the visit.

Such an amazing diner loved the ambiance of the 50s diner. Staff were super friendly and very attentive. Food was incredibly fresh and so very tasty. Portions were awesome. You don't leave hungry. Super clean staff were cleaning when not serving. I wish I lived closer so I could go more often.

Little chain diner. Didn't look like much and the heat struggled with the thin prefab walls ... But the first time we visited, the food and service were very good, both exceeding expectations by a wide margin. The second time ... The service was still good, but the food was a lot less pleasing: the chicken was dry, the hot vegetables were half hot / half refrigerator cold, and the meat had a slightly acrid character, like the grill had something burned on it. Decent coffee both times, and the 24/7 schedule is handy. A decent place to roll the dice on some food.

Not sure about the other reviews. What they see as burnt is what I see as well done and exactly how I ask for my food. If its light I will send it back. Penny's diner cooked the food perfectly WELL DONE as I asked. Learn how to be specific on your food choices. The lady made my sandwich exactly the way the picture looks. It couldn't be more perfect. I almost ordered another. She was very nice and polite. I will be coming back.

Mary was great she was the cook and server. When we got in there was one other person and us. Then the diner started getting busy 7 people showed up at once mary was taking orders and cooking there were too other ladys there that did nothing to help, mary was doing great making sure everyones food was cooked correctly and delivered as fast as possible. The other two went out side and smoked we had to wait tell they came back to check out and she had no idea how to ring us out by looking at ticket she had to ask me what we ordered then stopped answered the phone instead of putting them on hold and finish checking us out she took care of the people on the phone. Mary was great the other two were useless.

Today was my first experience ever with Penny's Diner and I must say I was very impressed. They were severely short staffed with just one cashier and then one staff member who was both cooking and serving food. In spite of this, the service was still friendly and very fast in spite of the circumstances. The club sandwich is probably the best I've had anywhere. The dining and kitchen areas were also very clean. If you stop in be sure to thank them and tip them well. They are doing a ton of extra work and doing an amazing job under the circumstances

We came in at around 12:30 on Sunday morning. We were greeted with a smile and felt like we were right at home. The staff member working cooked us some damn good food. I had the chicken and waffles. It was exactly what I was looking for (I got a side of gravy with it to top it off). It was great watching her prepare our meal as she was methodical and really friendly with us. It was a great experience. Be sure to get a mug before you go!

Employees were friendly, but cook was server, got my salad real fast, but 6he ranch tasted like the jug ranch, which is nothing like the real packet restaurant ranch that I've come to known being a line cook previously for almost 2 1/2 years at Grazers Burgers and Beer, which is in Newastle, WY, where I earned my beautiful jacket with my name and all sorts of life dynamics, as well as a great start to maybe a cooking career, but the morning line cook for most that time. Great food when I worked there too. I haven't been back yet, but I'm fixing to one of these days!

I like the pick 3 menu item. I easily find 3 items that I like at a fair price. Then add coffee and a water. I am not stuck with the same 3 items until I'm tired of them. Also I can find 3 that fill me up but don't fatten me up. I get cautious, friendly service.

In the past 2 days I have eaten here twice. Food is great. Service attentive. The cook Kirk should be called Captain Kirk because he really took charge. A rush came in and the staff were a blur of action. The atmosphere is fun and music subdued. Definitely a place with life in it. The portions are big the prices are reasonable. I will definitely stop bachk in next time I'm in town. Check them out its worth it.

I'm typing this from the counter at Penny's. I'm convinced that the bad reviews were an off day or a time when they weren't well staffed. My belly is full from what is quite possibly the best diner burger I've ever had. Perfectly cooked fresh meat, griddle toasted bun, proper fresh lettice, tomatoes, pickles, and onions. The service was spectacular from the moment I walked in the door. People were friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean and organized. When staff wasn't preparing food or waiting on guests, they were cleaning and organizing. The only bad thing is that I couldn't eat three or four meals. The food prepared in front of me looked and smelled fantastic. Unfortunately I don't live nearby, I'd love to be able to come back here over and over again.

Bacon burgers are delicious! Also, some of the best vanilla milkshakes I have ever had. Thing is, their breakfast is not up to par. It is not bad, but could definitely be improved. The service, for the most part, is quite good. The cook was nice all three times, and I am not bothered by the waiter over and over. You get a lot on your plate for what you paid. I primarily go for the shakes, but would like a better breakfast. Still, the place feels cozy but is hidden behind a bar, and only seems to be two other customers each time I go with a friend. Like many diners, the place gives a vintage vibe, and it is fairly priced. Check it out!

Been here a few times now with the family over the past year. Always good service, friendly and relaxed. Food is delicious, maybe a bit greasy but I don't mind that. While there is other good breakfast options in town, this one is still my favorite.

The french toast is simply amazing... The breakfast burger is off the charts... and the club sandwiches are a true club made the way it is suposed to be. I have eaten here three times and have had excellent service every time. The sweet tea is truly southern made perfectly. Would love to try a dessert, but the food portions always fill me up. This place is a amazing step back in time with great music and wonderful nostalgia on the walls. If you havent been here do yourself a favor and check it out. Great place!! Very quick service and I read most if the reviews whilst enjoying a great plate of biscuits and gravy with eggs and bacon grilled to perfection! It seems they are working on their issues with gloves and cleanliness!! Looks great and seen the cook go through 3 pairs on my order alone. Yea the booths could be better but we are a nation of big asses! And I'm sure some parts to an old manufactured diner could be hard to attain. Anyways go try it there is no juke box but great food and atmosphere

Poor service but the food is good. Be prepared to wait on a Sunday morning. The restaurant was badly under staffed so it took time for tables to be bused increasing the wait time. I felt bad for the guy running the floor. He was slammed and was in a total panic. It took a long time for the food to come out so the kitchen was probably understaffed too. On a Sunday morning don't expect to get a coffee or water refill without having to hunt down the waiter. Hopefully the owner figures out the staffing problem because the food is good. Will come back and give them another shot.

If you're not a "regular", or there's more than one table occupied, don't bother. Often the waitress is also the cook, hostess, busser, and dishwasher. Food is okay at best, but prices are high for the quality/quantity.

This diner is everything you want to have when you visit a city overnight. The staff was friendly and jovial overall as well as patient with my two small children. In addition the food was top notch, especially the chicken fried steak. The eggs were just right, and the French toast was also very good. Stop here to eat before or after you check into the neighboring hotel or just stop on your way through town, either way it should be good.

I went into Penny's Diner tonight and some things were good and some were not as good. My server (Sara) promptly assisted us. I quickly noticed the entire restaurant was filthy. Tables that other customers had eaten at were not cleared, the counter had a layer of eggs, salt, and crumbs, the floor behind the counter had all different kinds of food particles, the menus were filthy, and the syrup bottles were sticky. As I am watching the cook (Rebecca) prepare food, I see her grab raw bacon from her prep station and put it on the grill and never change her gloves before grabbing a hamburger bun for another lady's sandwich. In fact she wiped her hands and gloves on a filthy rag she had hanging at her side. Our meal went by smoothly and the food was good. Yes I ate it having known she had contaminated gloves on but felt secure knowing she did not touch any of our food with the gloves but instead had used a utensil. My biggest complaint is that the manager (Andrea) did NOT do one thing while we were the there besides get herself coffee and sit on her rear end. She couldn't even ring us up but proceeded to yell across the restaurant for Sara to come work the register. The store is a mess but it is not surprising with such an incompetent and lazy manager running the place.

Great food, friendly staff and a neat, old fashioned atmosphere. Really sets the diner tone, food and all. The shakes are excellent, if perhaps a bit sweet. Be it breakfast, lunch or dinner, they do it well. Also, being located on Dell Range and just next to Owl Tree Inn, its great for out of town visitors, for business or leisure.

This place was phenomenal! The staff is not only friendly, but the food was delicious, I had the best omelet I hadn't ever tasted. The portions are sized well, and the did is reasonably priced. I'm not a local, but I will be sure to come back if I'm ever in the area again.

Very cool Lil diner with great decor and a real 50's diner feeling. We had breakfast and i had the chicken fried steak. It was good but pretty standard. CFS was deep fried and the toast was a Lil over toasted. Much better than a fast food joint for sure as we were traveling through the area and enjoyed the stop. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Prices were very reasonable. Would recommend to a friend.

Slowest breakfast ever. We waited 45 minutes for pancakes and eggs. And the place wasn't even seated fully. The food was good enough to overlook the slow kitchen. Pancakes were soft fluffy and crispy on the edges, just how I like them. I'll come back to eat here. Next time the kitchen will be faster I hope.

Even with the covid-19 going on was able to get a seat within 20 min, some of the best pancakes I've ever had. Waitress was fantastic and could read the signals at the table and wasn't hovering over checking in every couple minutes.

Stopped here on my through Cheyenne. Portions are reasonable for the price. My omlet was overloaded, in a good way. Coffee isn't bad, light but flavorful. I prefer my hashbrowns crispier than they were but overall a great meal at a reasonable price.

Penny's Diner is the best hole-in-the-wall place here in Cheyenne for traditional breakfasts and lunch/dinner fare. They make shakes the old fashioned way, complete with whipped cream and a steel cup for a second helping! I always get a smothered breakfast burrito; they are huge and the green chile is made in the diner. It is the best green chile I've ever had in any restaurant, with tomato chunks, pepper chunks, and more pork than I could shake a stick at. My mouth is watering just thinking about it again, and I just had one yesterday! They are open 24/7, and they have very reasonable prices.

The BLT is delicious. I also sampled the bacon milkshake, which was actually pretty good, though I probably won't get a full-sized one. They hand-dip all the shakes, which I think tastes a lot better than premade shake bases at a lot of other places. Anyway, friendly staff and good food, though the booth seats could use some more padding and upkeep. The diner itself is very small, but didn't feel cramped to me. I was expecting prices comparable to Steak n Shake or Winstead's, but alas, it was more expensive, on par with Applebee's. Oh well. Overall, I would definitely eat here again.

The food here is the best. Moved here a year ago. The Jonny's burritto, if you like hot, has the best Chile verda I have had in Cheyenne. This place gets packed, the service is still excellent. If you don't like hot they have a great menu. This place is so much better then a chain food place. If you miss this place it will be your loss.

It's very good. It's so hard to find anywhere good to eat in Cheyenne since a lot of the restaurants leave a lot to be desired, but such is not the case here.

Penny's sits right next to the Oak Tree Inn. It's typical greasy spoon fair. You can get breakfast and lunch foods. For the most part I've gotten breakfast and shakes there. For me, the food wasn't anything to write home about. Everything was not necessarily bland, but it didn't have kick to it either.
