The service is top notch! The staff are all very friendly people and very attentive to your needs. My coffee cup never reached the bottom. I loved the service. The portion sizes and prices are perfect! I did not leave hungry. The menu is full of great traditional food choices. The place is very much 'down home'.

Walked in and felt like I was sitting in my Mom's kitchen. No frills, but loads of kindness and a feeling of family. I had some great coffee and Biscuits and Gravy with 2 eggs over medium. Top 3 easily that I've ever tasted. And I'm a Biscuits and Gravy connoisseur. I most highly recommend Down Home Diner! Sorry I didn't take a photo prior to starting, but like I said top 3.

It's abit of a dive diner but the food was amazing 👏. Staff where great. Coffee was top notch. If you dont care for Decor this is the place for you again food was amazing. The price was also very good I got the sausage skillet very well done. I would go back anytime.

We went to this restaurant , it is attached to a truck stop. we got seated and a gentleman to out order. it took a while to get food , food was good. servers was attentive. however, he did not bring bill when we were completed, it took a while and finally we went to cashier without a receipt. otherwise good service.

This local diner is connected to a gas station but it's separate from each other. The service was quick even though it was packed. The portions were large and the food was great. You can tell a lot of locals are regulars here, first name basis with the staff. Being from the South this reminds me of a Waffle House with the type of food served.

Exactly what I hoped for from a homie little diner. Traveling with my dog, I originally called to place a take-out order, but Damion informed me that they are pet-friendly. He said he would prepare it for me to eat-in. When I arrived with my pup, he had already set us up in a booth and the meals were ready and waiting. I had the meatloaf and my pup had some grilled chicken. Damion was kind, welcoming, and accommodating, and the food was very good. I enthusiastically recommend Down Home Diner!

I have to admit, I didn't know what to expect when I walked in to this little diner attached to a gas station. But I was pleasantly surprised. The patty melt was crispy to the last bite and the onion rings were fresh and fried to a perfect crunch. Tara was attentive and kind. Next time I drive through Cheyenne I'm stopping here for gas and lunch.

Service was incredibly friendly...our waitress Connie made our Thanksgiving. The price was considerably low for the portions of food and quality of food. It is in a gas station please don't let that detour you it is amazing. It will be a must go to when in Cheyenne!!!

My old man and I have been here multiple times in the past few months and their food is really good but the best thing I have tasted so far is their omelet smothered in green chilli. So wonderful. Only once did we have "poor service", our waitress just seemed very introverted and really didn't asked us much of anything, otherwise the place is awesome and the bathrooms in the c.store are clean and usually well lit. A client staying at the same La Quinta we were staying overnight, recommended this place for their Chicken Fried Steak. We decided to try it, and boy was he right. It was a great little diner next to an Exxon convenience store. The CFS was very tender and full of flavor. The mac n cheese is box mac but with some salt and pepper, it was good. The mashed potatoes were fluffy and tasty. The breakfast 2x2x2x2 was great. The or chop was tender and moist and flavored perfectly.

I walked here from the Nissan Dealer while our LEAF electric vehicle was charging there and had a very nice Veggie Omelette with home fries, mini pancakes, and coffee for $11.00. The food and service both were very good. It's nicetobe able go add this as another place in Cheyenne where a vegetarian can get a good meal. I really like that they cooked everything without drowning it in oil. The home fries were unsalted so the customer can add it or not according to their own tastes. The tables have a fun assortment of condiments. The omelette was "griddle style" (rolled up / folded), cooked perfectly, veggies inside distinct, diced green chiles tasty but not overpowering. The coffee was good enough to drink black. 😀😀😀😀

My only concern is I came in during shift change restaurant was full of customers and the lady that was my waitress was outstanding my concern since the restaurant was full the ALL the day shift ladies just left her it's OK though as my waitress did her best and for that I applaud her the daybshift the did take my order but I feel someone should have stayed at least for a few mins

I opted for a breakfast of pancakes and sausage since this IS a diner. My server was not unfriendly so much as she was neutral, I guess for lack of a better term. Anyway, the pancakes were average, nothing exceptional, as were the sausage links. All in all, a ho-hum experience. I left the place feeling just like I did when I walked in, except not hungry any longer.

What a fantastic breakfast! The ham steak, gravy and pancakes hit the spot. The service excellent, friendly, and efficient! Love the down home cooking and friendly staff. Well we have been coming here now on a regular basis. Love this place! Jessica was great. She ran several tables and my coffee cup never was empty. I still say they deserve all 5 stars!

I had forgotten about this little hidden gem. I had the all you can eat fish and shrimp with onion rings. The portions were great for this meal. There was no way I could order a second one. My dinner date had the shrimp with fries, same type of portions she had trouble finishing her meal. Great change of pace for lent. Will be back soon...

What a find! I don't know how many times I've been through Baker. I always stop there for gas & search for someplace to eat with outside seating. Finely gave this place a shot & WOW was I surprised! Great meal, large selection & cheerful staff. The outdoor seating in kinda hidden, we saw the umbrellas behind the fence. I would highly recommend this place & will be the only restaurant for me in Baker. Just off the highway & across the street from the gas station.

The liver and onions is fair a little dry but not too bad, mashed potatoes and gravy is nice and not too salty, macaroni and cheese is bland not cheesey and dry... Pork chops are always dry and over cooked, server may joke about "the island boys" being extremely wasteful with food and money or just basically ignore any refills or other options, which may dissuade customers from finishing...

This establishment is one of the friendliest places I’ve ever been. I was stuck in Cheyenne due to the crazy weather and blizzard conditions shutting down I-25 & i-80 and I desperately needed milk for my son! The very nice gentleman at the cash register ran to the back and got me a cup of milk without any hesitation and was very nice about it! He was so busy because they had a full restaurant and he took the time to help me! I didn’t catch his name but he had dark brown hair and a mustache. He was a fantastic human being! Thank you Sir!!!

I love this food. It's great home type food. I go up to Wyoming a lot from Denver Colorado, and always try to make an effort to go here. I love the prices and the food has great portions (very generous). There's some staff that don't seem to friendly or attentive, but we always seem to luck out with the great ones. We've had suck great service that we can't help but tip generously. I mean how could you not. Love this place. Will continue to go back time and time again everytime we goto Wyoming.

Didn't realize this was a gas station diner - came here because it was rated highly in trip advisor. The waitress was great about checking on us. We were hungry and wanted a quick meal before completing our travels. Sad "Home fried" skillet meal potatoes were boiled and sliced, barely waved past the grill, and about 80% of the skillet... yuck. For the record, I didn't complain, just removed the potatoes - Server saw this and did offer to send it back, but we only had about 10 minutes left to eat by that time, and sending food back is a great way to get things you didn't bargain for. Honestly, this place was "ok", maybe 3 stars, ... but definitely not the 4.9 star place we were led to believe it would be. Maybe we caught them on a bad day. Other reviewers photos show the meal I was expecting, so maybe it's usually good.

All I can say is WOW. I generally get chicken fried steak when I'm out for breakfast, this was by far the best chicken fried steak I have ever had, toast was toasted to perfection, eggs were just how I like them, over medium. Very nice and clean little diner who offer American homestyle food. The food was good and we received a large amount for an extremely reasonable price. The waitress, who was the only server tonight, did an excellent job. She was friendly, recommend one of my husbands favorite dishes and he loved it. To those people looking for a five star gourmet restaurant, this is not what you're looking for. If you are like most people who are hungry, looking for a great meal and don't want to spend a lot we totally reccomend it.

DHD is a regular stop for me. Much of the food is made fresh. The portions are large and the prices are very reasonable. My favorite is the mushroom swiss burger with a salad. The service is quick and the staff is friendly.

Stopped by with the family on a road trip. One of the few places open. The place was not impressive by any stretch on the inside. About what you would expect. Tables were arranged for Covid. Had to ask for utensils and no condiments on the table. Probably Covid related. The waitress was great with my kids, very helpful and accommodating. Food was typical trucker fair and hit the spot. Coffee was great and enjoyed it black. Hard to get good coffee these days. The Green chili is not worth trying. Tasted pre-made. Patty melt was excellent. Suggest sticking to items from the grill. They were all very good. Worth a stop for people who like this type of place. Reading reviews about this restaurant seems about right when looking at who wrote them. The kids were well looked after and portions were good. They liked the food. Gets 4 stars for the price! Very cheap place for a full meal. I was surprised that the bill was so low.

We had set out for another reg spot called Perkins however we forgot about the time changed and they were packed so we went in search of food elsewhere and found the Down Home Diner. Even though it was 9:30 am they said it was no problem ordering typical lunch/dinner food we weren't in the mood for breakfast food that morning. We will be repeat customers. Great job

I've eaten here three times now. Once on my first coast to coast, and twice on my second. Well made country diner style food that is more than reasonably priced. Friendly staff. Don't be scared that it's attached to a gas station. It's worlds above anything else I've eaten from a place that makes it's home that close to a fuel pump.

Truly a Hidden Gem of a Diner right here in Cheyenne! I LOVE eating here!! The food is always hot and delicious, cooked to order and served by very good, engaging waitresses. THIS is the best Diner in Cheyenne, Wy, (not the one that most folks call the best Diner in Cheyenne that served me a nasty, disappointing, cold Ham & Cheese Omelet).

This was a little godsend of a diner. We were doing a 2 day drive, stopped for a motel and they directed us here for food. We both had chicken fried steak, one breakfast one dinner. Everything about the food was great, the taste, quality, portion, price/value. They had a huge menu so I don't think you couldn't find something you'd like. Nice little homey, quaint little bit of Americana. And even though they closed at 9pm and we came in at 8:30+pm our server put up no quam about it when we realized the times and apologized. We met some friends for breakfast here. I ordered the chicken fried steak based on reviews and it was good. My hubby ordered the corned beef hash and used his 2 sides to make biscuits and gravy. The corned beef hash serving was small compared to other entrees and he's used to his gravy which has a lot more meat. We were still full later and had a very light lunch. I was most impressed by the waitress who carried 4 plates in one hand plus another few plates up her arm ... that's some mad skillz (with a z, 'cause she's so cool). WOOT!

Hidden Gem attached to a gas station. Once you enter the front door, the entire restaurant is clean with a very friendly staff. Connie waited on us two days in a row and was super nice and on point with service. Thank you for the great food!

FYI...when the menu says mini pancakes, and you think of silver- dollar'ish sized, you would be wrong, as was I hahahhaa. They are full sized! I ordered breakfast for dinner. Chicken fried steak ( HUGE ) , 2 eggs, fruit and 3 big pancakes for $10.29!! We highly recommend this hidden diner!

Down home diner is your quintessential town diner. The seats are 50-60% filled with locals that most of the diner staff know. The food is good, not great but the regulars eat there because of the staff and patrons. It is a meeting place. The staff was courteous and friendly, and the diner is dated and clean but not spotless nor updated.

Interestingly, a waitress stood on an adjacent booth seat to close the blinds in our booth rather than simply asking if we wanted them closed in the morning. There was also only one set of silverware for a family of four so we had to ask for more after the food had been served.

We stopped in Cheyenne traveling from Missouri & decided that Down Home Diner would be a good place for some breakfast. The customer service was immaculate and the wait was more than understanding considering it was busy and a Sunday morning. They even gave us a discount for staying at a hotel in the area! The only things we had issues with was a missing side of gravy, cold hashbrowns, & mildly soggy toast. Other than that, if we ever find ourselves back in Cheyenne, we will be coming back. Not too shabby for carry out!

I have fond memories of this Diner. As a kid my Dad my Brother and I would take a road trip up to Montana from Colorado. This Diner was ALWAYS the first stop we made for breakfast. Hmmm... I'd say better than sharies hands down. Better service better food and better prices. But I'm not a fan of sharies here in Cheyenne it sucks there. Fast service at down home diner. A lot of same traffic every day so you know they have a good customer base. I like it here. It's not the cleanest place in town but you can bet your order wont take 20 min to get it. They offer military discount. And the majority of staff is GREAT only one server in particular who doggs on other staff. But I dont think shes around much... I'm being modest when I say it's good I love this joint if i was retired and widowed I'm come here every day for one meal

We were visiting Cheyenne for a few days and this diner was across the street from our hotel. I had the chopped steak with mushrooms, onions and gravy, baked potato and a dinner salad.
