This restaurant was very accommodating to our very large group from out of town. Food was delicious and decently priced. Excellent service- staff was awesome. What a view! It is beautiful and pictures don’t do it justice…it is a must when visiting Charleston. It is a hidden gem away from the city. *It can be a little tricky to find if you’re not from the area. It is on top of a mountain in a gated home community.

Small list of draft beers. No amber ales? In the SUMMER?! No big deal. Spinach and Artichoke dip was delicious. Maybe serve a little more dip or less chips. Now to the reason why I gave 4 stars. Ordered my steak medium rare, closer to rare and was brought medium-well. Taste was still pretty good. Mixed veggies and red potatoes were very tasty. Friendly staff and the view…amazing. Didn’t send steak back because it was still very well seasoned and delicious. Will come back to this spot for sure.

We decided to go to The Lookout for our first visit for Restaurant Week in Charleston today. A big decider for us was being able to get the food to go, and The Lookout was one of the few we were wanting to try that were willing to do it. I'm definitely glad we chose to go here as the food was excellent, even after the drive home. We each got the Ceasar salad, I got the Steak and Shrimp with garlic cream sauce and potatoes, my girlfriend got the stuffed chicken with Spinach, mushrooms and cheese on top of rice. The steak was perfectly cooked to a nice pink medium and was juicy and tender. The shrimp and garlic sauce added excellent flavors to the steak, and the potatoes had the perfect amount of spice to make them an excellent addition to the meal as well. The potatoes weren't even mentioned on the menu but I'm very happy they were included. The chicken was nice and tender with a ton of complimentary flavors from the sauce and various things it was stuffed with. Either entrée you choose would be a great choice in my opinion. We finished the meal with two slices of turtle cheesecake, and those were exceptionally well prepared too. The caramel wasn't too sweet or heavy but was the perfect, creamy compliment to give the cheesecake a nice variation of flavor. In addition to the food, the building and location itself are very nice and relaxing. The restaurant is located by Eagle View apartments and there's an amazing view of the city from high above (at least when the weather is clear, it was very foggy during our visit today). The building itself has a nice, relaxing, inviting interior, and while there's not a ton of seating, that simply adds to the more relaxed vibe of the place. There is an attractive, well stocked bar, and a few tvs around as well. Overall if you haven't checked out The Lookout yet, I feel it is a nice little hidden gem that is absolutely worth your time.

Very cool place! Great views and picture opportunities outside. You can see the capital from the top of the mountain. Dinner was great. We were the first ones inside at 4pm. Their Fish Po Boy was amazing. I am always disappointed by fish everywhere else and that's why I almost didn't get it BUT WOW!!! IT WAS MASSIVE and fried to absolute perfection. I can't believe I ate the whole thing. So good!! Was a great time. They could def use to replace some of their chairs because of leather peeling and cushion delapadating in some but it was a cool place and a great visit overall for meeting family from Ravenswood, my husband's hometown, as we passed through in our Semi. ❤️❤️❤️

An amazing experience and delicious food. The fettuccine alfredo was loved by my entire table. The waitstaff super friendly and took great care of us. And the chef gave us a personal greeting. This, along with Ichiban Sushi, are my go-to favorite restaurants every time I visit my old home Charleston, WV.

Our first time visiting. We had to sit inside. Atmosphere was underwhelming. Very loud. Chairs are in bad need of reupolstering. Food was ok. A little under seasoned but fine. Service was really slow and disorganized. Not the servers fault...was a management problem.

Came here while out of town on a business trip, and I am glad I did! Service and atmosphere were fantastic, the view was beautiful. I sat at the bar and was able to watch hockey while I ate my food and drank some beer. Looking forward for the chance to return to Charleston to visit this place!

Awesome place with incredible views from the top of the mountain. Only restaraunt with views like this. Cool wait staff and food is top notch. Daily specials keep it "new". Good selection of local and craft beer and they have cornhole and a buffet brunch on sundays

My wife and I tried it for her birthday. Our steak and vegetables were perfectly cooked and delicious. Maybe a little pricey considering the portions, but not overly so. The view was good and the staff was helpful and prompt. We will be back.

This place was amazing. We discovered it on our trip back from North Carolina to Wisconsin. It was fantastic. It's got some fantastic views. If you are trying to find it, don't be deterred by the little condo town you need to drive through to get there. It's at the back. All of the food was good and they had great soda and beer choices (mostly from Wisconsin 😉)

We made reservations over a week prior to our visit. The reservations were made through their website via Google. When we (party of 5) arrived, we were ignored for several minutes. When the hostess finally acknowledged us, we told her we had a reservation. She said "well it was done with a robo-call, so I didn't trust it". She then tried to place 5 people at a 4 top table. We told her that wouldn't be an option, since there were 5 of us, she the offered a high top, and would pull a chair up. We agreed. After several more minutes of waiting, she finally said she would just sit us at a larger table, because that reservation for that table wasn't for another HOUR, and she would take the chance. After we were seated, it took almost 15 mins before we were acknowledged and brought menus. It took a while to get the food, but it was delicious. That is the ONLY reason for 3 stars. Our server did her best, even though they weren't exceptionally busy. Pros: The food, and the view. Cons: Everything else.

We were lucky enough to stumble upon the Lookout through a travel site. The view was beautiful and the food good. Ashley our waitress/ bartender was charming and a great mixologist. We would highly recommend!

Beautiful view..good atmosphere and very clean. The wait to get seated was minimal and the bartender was amazing! We had never been here but my husband took me for my birthday.But it kinda spiraled down after we were seated! Basically we were forgotten and everyone just walked by and didn't ask a thing. The issue arose after our drinks were empty...lol! I went inside to order drinks after about 30 mins. My husband is a man of few words and when he is upset he is just done..ready to leave! He came to bar to get me n was ready! The sweet bartender couldn't believe we were forgotten.. I didn't care as long as they keep me in drinks! Anyway I talked him into staying...with a lot of persuasion from owner n myself...Long story short...THEY REALLY TOOK CARE OF US!! They went above n beyond to rectify the situation! They comped our dinner and drinks..n we had a amazing time...the servers got extra tips bcus we didnt pay for dinner! The maple glazed salmon was AMAZING n my husbands Cajun chicken pasta was pretty tasty! Was very nice n we will definitely go back!!! Probably with friends this weekend!

If not familiar with the area it is a little confusing to get to but very worth the effort! The restaurant is inside a gated community. I hd trouble entering the code to open the gate but a resident behind me helped me. Once at the restaurant it was fabulous! We had our dog and sat in their outdoor dining with a mountain top view. Great wait staff. I ordered the grilled salmon and my husband had Cajun chicken pasta. Recommend both.

First time eating here since moving to this community. Wings were great, as well as, the chicken club sandwich (got mine without bacon). I'd definitely recommend for a decent bite and fun atmosphere.

Enjoy upscale bar food with a great view. We sat outside overlooking Kanawha City enjoying our lamb chop lollipops (amazing) and the best spinach artichoke dip I’ve ever had. Then we tried a burger and the club sandwich - which was also very good. We can’t wait to go back and try brunch!

When this place was "Riverside Bar & Grill" it was a disgusting, dirty dump. With 10-20 cats living in the dry stock area, down stairs. Kitchen was a filthy, low grade p.o.s. I know unfortunately... because I worked there! However now, it seems to be a clean, somewhat better atmosphere. Food (compared to previous owner) has done a complete 360 as far as taste, and variety goes. Wait staff were tolerable. Keep up the great work! Thanks!

Great food and excellent staff. We were there last Sunday. Our waitress was so good and accommodating. The food was delicious we ordered lamb chops app, pasta was really good and couple items from brunch menu were on spot. Everything was fresh and cooked perfectly.

Food is pretty standard, slightly above average. With the view and the environment that make the food taste way much better. But at least can tell their food is clean and maintain its quality, I just wish have more creativity or fusion interesting cuisine.

The staff was very friendly! I order the maple glazed salmon & Cajun chicken pasta to-go. The sauce on the pasta tasted strongly of oregano and lacked seasoning, the chicken was fried,also a bit to dry. The salmon was good but could have been better. Personally I would have like a thicker coating of the glaze and just a pinch more of seasoning. The rice was good as well as the broccoli...blanch to perfection. I would definitely go back again. Could have just been an of day and also I did order moments before the kitchen closed but still that is no excuse. Just hope for better next time! 😉

This place is perfect. I got the lollipop lamp chops, the Cajun chicken pasta, and a lemon drop (they make it with pink lemonade). Everything was juicy and had good flavor. Best part is it was all affordable. I’ll be going back soon.

Usually decent service, but lately its impossible to call in orders, bartender usually just puts you on hold endlessly, decent calling in multiple times, same thing each time. I get it, customers that are present get priority, but come on man, can you at least tell me you're not gotta take my order rather than just leaving me on hold over and over again? Even tried to order takeout in person and got the run around. Also, they dont have soup on the menu and that's a staple for wintertime menus.

Well I thought that this may be a let down waiting to happen- resting on the incredible view. That was quickly shot down. From the beginning the staff was sooooo friendly that it made me feel at home and so I ate as if I were! The good thing is there wasn't a let down there, we ended up ordering after we'd finished or entree! KUDOS to those who do NOT waste my time.
