Visiting from Clt, NC. My family told us about this place, they had seen them cooking on the local news Channel:) so we decided to give a try. Amazing!!! From our waitress to the food... every experience was such a pleasure. We got the antipasto board for a starter, had the Ruben, one of the burgers (sorry can't remember which one), grilled cheese and salad. I recommend them all 👌 Oh, and very reasonable priced!

Great place!!! Highly recommended. We were in town for my husband’s graduation and decided to try this place since it was near our hotel. It was wonderful! The waitress was awesome. We were the only ones who sat outside and let me tell you, the outdoor heater was perfect. We love the charcuterie board, Greek salad, and baklava cheesecake.

Ordered some catering for an event and the food was delicious! So many compliments during the entire event! The staff was very friendly and the booking process was a breeze with Michael. If you’re considering catering I really recommend going through here. Although I haven’t dined in since I live far away, I can definitely attest that the food is amazing. If I’m in the area more I’ll definitely be dining here when I can.

I've always had a great experience at the restaurant. Love the food. Heaters are amazing so you can eat outdoors even when it's cooler outside. However service is slooooow sometimes, and we recently ordered catering that was late plus didn't have enough utensils. If you can live with the laid back service, the good is excellent.

The food here is phenomenal! That said going in the middle of the week at like 1-1:30 we didn't expect it to be so busy. Had to wait a while on seats, drinks, and food but the quality was great. Just don't go there expecting a quick lunch.

What an amazing find. We found this place our our way from NC to Chicagi, and we're so happy we did. The menu featured such a diverse array of home cooked items, and everything we ordered was superb. Michael, the owner/chef, was gracious and extremely attentive and shared some time with us. He allowed us to bring our 2 small, quiet dogs into the nicely heated outdoor patio. Katelyn, our server, was so gracious and accommodating. We had a wonderful meal and experience and will plan our next trip to NC to make sure we stop by here again for a delightful meal!

Service was indifferent, not rude but not kind. We had to ask for things several times. Never refilled drinks. Philly cheese steak had pickles which was odd. Maybe ok if I liked pickles but I don't. Would've been fine otherwise if not for the canned nacho cheese sauce. That had a weird, off-putting flavor. There was actual provalone on the sandwich so I don't know why they feel the need to use the canned fake cheese. Loaded fries were okay after we brought them home and reheated them. When they came to the table, they were cold and the cheese (a sauce would've been a better choice in this case - but not the canned stuff) had hardened so the entire dish was just one big clump of fries.

The vegan options were great! We only had to remove feta from some items. Adding vegan cheese to the menu would be a plus for plant-based or lactose intolerant folks in the future. Very pleased with the staff and ambiance, especially the spacious outdoor dining area. The fries and baba ganoush were the stars of this dinner!

The buffet for Easter was AMAZING even things that are more for the kids were awesome like the Mac and cheese and the chicken tenders!! The filet was amazingly tender and full of flavor and the way that the buffet was setup was really great!

Quaint little place and I really wanted to like this place. I had heard such great things. The Greek salad was amazing, the dressing had so much flavor. The shawarma on the other hand wasnt. The meat tasted dry and jerky like, and half my sandwich was missing tahini. Maybe I should have tried something else...

It was a pleasure to find the Olive Tree Cafe, several cuts above the usual travel food. It's tucked into a neighborhood with a large, covered, outdoor dining area. Great Mediterranean style food and a selection of good beers. Among other things, we had a large salad with grilled chicken and a huge grilled cheese sandwich and fries.

Music was so loud people were practically yelling at each other to converse. Had to ask waitress to get sound turned down. Very little change. It may have been wired on the patio but at least the music would be defused. The meal was fine. Our waitress was tipped well. Hope she didn't have to share it. I spent $140. for two of us. Expected a better evening.

I stopped by on a whim on my way home from work and picked up a Family Style meal for dinner. I'd never been to Olive Tree before. I was so impressed by the experience--from the delicious food, to the beautiful way it was presented, to the manager, Melanie, who helped me out to the car. And the price point was great for the quantity and quality of food they sent me home with. This is a gem of a place--I'm now a repeat customer.

Usually have great experiences here, but today was not one of them. Only reason I’m not leaving a 1 star is because I know how hard Michael works to provide everyone good experiences and everything is usually much better. Went in for lunch around 2 pm, asked to be seated inside. There were maybe 5-6 other tables seated and already eating when we arrived. Staff seats us in the back room quickly, but then we sit back there for around 20 minutes and no one comes back to the table, even to get our drink order. Had multiple staff members walk past our table without saying a word. We finally decide to just order our food to go instead. As we are walking up front, the staff member who sat us finally asks if we had been waited on yet, which I told her we had not since she sat us nearly 30 minutes prior. She doesn’t even respond to my comment and walks to the back. We then order our food to go, and we’re quoted a 10 minute time for two shawarma combos and a za’taar bread. We then waited another 20 minutes for our food to finally come out. Not sure what the issue was today, but hopefully it was just an off day.

No shrimp ceviche! Was in a group of 15 that I talked into going to this restaurant specifically for the shrimp ceviche. They had none. This was my 3rd visit that they were out of this dish. Fortunately, the dishes we did get were very good. Excellent hostess.

Food was great. Good server. The dining area we were in was noisy, they could stand to add some sound absorbent wall hangings or ceiling panels or rugs to cut down on sound reflection. Cost was a little higher than we're used to, so we'll probably go less often, but we will go back.

Surprise, Surprise! Never would we have expected to have such a wonderful meal in such a tucked away location. We couldn't decide on the Angus kabobs or the scallops, so we asked the waitress (Lexi) if the chef could give us each half on order of each for both of us - a custom surf and turf. Absolutely superb! One of the best meals of our entire ten day road trip. The dessert, the baklava sundae was to die for, too. Most definitely a five star meal.

Their fries are really good. The falafel wrap is okay. I wish they used a softer pita. It’s very thin and kinda chewy. The falafel are flat and denser than I’m used to. Nice to have Mediterranean cuisine in Charleston though! Will have to try something different next time.

Amazing everything. I ordered the Pastrami on Rye and was very satisfied. They were understaffed today with about 3 people on the floor but I still got my food in under 10 minutes. Mike, the owner, came to check on everybody. Now that’s someone who cares about his business. ZERO complaints. Great prices!

We just had the most wonderful meal!!! We ordered the Black Angus Filet and the Fire Roasted Mediterranean sea scallops and then asked to have them split on our plates which they did and we happy noises to each other with each bite. Lexi was the best!!! Thank you so much!!❤️

The waitstaff was busy, and it took a while to get someone's attention to get seated. No menu was brought to the table, so I went on line and selected an entree. Turns out they just updated the paper menus and had some nice selections that weren't on line. (learned this from a conversation at a nearby table!) Overall, my meal was good, some of the shawarma meat was a bit grisly, and there was not a lot of it in the pita. Waitstaff was attentive. Would go back to check out a different entree from the new menu.

The food was terrific. There is lots of seating, including sitting outside on a deck. Part of the deck is covered, and part is not. There was adequate free parking when I was there, but I can see how they might run out of parking on busy days. The service was also excellent. The staff are friendly and efficient.

Wonderful place! Menu is extensive and everything I had was delicious. Staff was quick with seating and owner took time from his work to check in that everything was going well. I stopped in for lunch and was in and out quickly, so don’t hesitate to pop in for lunch or a delicious dinner when you can have a drink or two.

The baba ganoush, baklawa and cucumber tomato salad were great. My eldest just wanted a grilled cheese and the youngest wanted fries so all that was fine. My gyro tasted extremely strange though. I didn't eat it. Server was great. On the way out we heard someone asking about an odd odor and someone in the bar area said it had to do with the gyros. It was mystifying.

Had a great dinning experience. First time, and tried a variety of things. Perogies, medaterain shrimp, hummus, and baklawa sundae, tea and coffee. It was amazing. Well be coming back soon. Staff was great and the owner came out to make sure everything was good. If you have not been here, go, you will be happy you did. Very yummy food and great staff. Loved it!

Stopped in for lunch. Food was great! I had the shawarma and fries (little messy but tasted great) and my wife had the grilled cheese (couple types of cheese, spinach, tomato and Olives). Would definitely recommend either one. Had some good beer choices on draft as well. Also, it looks like they have larger rooms to host events/functions. Definitely recommend a visit next time you're in South Charleston.

Great Greek salad. Best ever. Management seems to lack some customer communication skills and time management and could benefit greatly from an event coordinator and the event room is not private enough as the music from the main restaurant spills into the event room and the windows can't be shaded or blinded in any way. But great Greek salad. Best ever.

Excellent food and service. Authentic Mediterranean Cuisine and great sandwiches with Boars Head products, french fries always hot and fresh. Broad selection of IPAs/beers and good wine. They also do catering for functions / meetings / events. If you haven't been there, now is the time!

We always enjoy the Olive Tree and all the delicious vegetarian options they offer. There is usually a short wait but the food is prepared fresh while you wait, so that is to be expected. They've expanded in a beautiful new space and it is a very comfortable place to hang out with friends. They also have a large selection of ethnic grocery items that are hard to find locally.

I love this place. This time I finally tried the Cubano sandwich. Only complaint is that it was on a sub-type roll rather than a more traditional bread (e.g. Cibatta). The pork was well seasoned and juicy. Fries are hand cut and great. Had a few bites of the Mediterranean chicken wrap. .yum.

We decided to go to Olive Tree Café after reading a very intriguing article my wife ran across on Facebook. I’m glad we did! It was a great dining experience. Olive tree is a warm, cozy, friendly, family-owned/ran restaurant. We each had a four course “Charleston Restaurant Week Special”. My filet special and her Maui special were excellent as was the service. We will return and I recommend Olive tree café and catering!

I rarely eat at the same place twice when I'm out of town for work, but I ate lunch and dinner here on the same day and would go back again anytime I'm in town. I had the shawarma for lunch (great flavor, huge portion at a very reasonable price) and pigged out at dinner by ordering the feast that is the mazza plate (pita, hummus, baba ganoush, feta chunks, an assortment of olives, and dolmas...delicious, fresh, and super filling). The atmosphere is cozy, the staff was friendly, I highly recommend the Olive Tree.

Arnold Reuben himself couldn’t make a better Reuben sandwich. The stuffed grape leaves are a perfect compliment to its deliciousness. Friendly first name basis atmosphere. Will return many many times.

Trendy little deli and restaurant serving very tasty sandwiches using Boar's Head brand lunch meat. I had the Pastrami served hot like a Reuben, very tasty, stone ground mustard. I ordered a roast beef sub to go, and it was very good, BUT, the bun has to be better. I would find a different source for the hoagie rolls, nothing exciting or memorable about the bun. Everything else about the sandwich was wonderful, and it deserves a roll that makes U tell friends about it.
