Great experience and definitely worth the so to rest and eat on long trips. The varied menu was accommodating to all 11 people in our party. The food was good and the service was divine. They really made us all feel welcomed. Nice little store for kitchy things. And great prices on food and store items. The decor was quite nice too, I would recommend looking around the restaurant.

Older country style restaurant that’s been a the community since 1980. Food is simple home cooked fare that can be very hit or miss. Tonight was a hit. We ordered the Sunday special baked steak with mashed potatoes and green beens, and the farm hand skillet. The baked steak was tender and a nice size portion. The gravy was really thick. The mashed potatoes are pretty standard and the green beans were well seasoned. The skillet consisted of eggs, sausage, shredded potatoes, peppers and onions. All was good and we left happy. We have always had nice servers that aren’t overly attentive, they let you have your space, which is fine for us. Most of the clientele are 60+. The kind of place you go when you want to be reminded of your great grandparents.

We love eating breakfast here! It reminds me a lot of eating breakfast at home. The food has that homemade taste. The staff here are super sweet and on the ball. They also have a cool little gift shop with some neat things in it. I haven't really had anything other than the breakfast there so I can't weigh in on the other food.

We stopped here due to a long history of one of our party members eating at this restaurant with his parents growing up. This can, at times, be deceiving because of nostalgia, however this restaurant did not disappoint. The food was great and the service was fantastic. The price isn’t horrible for a sit down country meal. Try the baked steak or the chicken fried steak.

We absolutely love Hardings. The food is always so great and the portions are large!! If you come here and don't get full, there is something wrong. The chicken fried steak is amazing. The pancakes are huge! And the chopped grilled chicken salad was out of this world. And when you visit, ask for Missy. She is phenomenal!!

The atmosphere is a straight copy of a Ames department store dinner from 1985. It is absolutely delightful and brings back fond memories of visiting my grandmother who was a waitress there. The food is just as nostalgic with rich aromas of crispy burgers, fries, milkshakes and pancakes. Everything you would expect to find from a 1980's dinner. The staff is always bustling but never too busy to shoot you a smile and fill your glass. This place is a time capsule that deserves your visit and its preservation.

Wow! Good job, Kanawha County Health Department! First time here since COVID. I missed the good food. What I did NOT miss was the previous lack of cleanliness, clutter, unprofessional, rude and boisterous, loud, constantly yelling staff, as well as that kind of loud, ride customers (usually yelling loudly with the waitresses and with each other while sitting at the lunch counter), the male cooks who appeared to need clean clothes and hair/facial hair contained or pulled back, and the heavy, putrid smoke smell from the time you entered the restaurant. Now apparently restaurant has been given orders to be cleaned, is quiet, (most of) staff trying to be much more professional and food still good. No smoking signs around eating area. Of course prices are significantly higher, and there is nothing of interest in the Gift Shop any more—it is almost empty. Just a few candles and leftover trinkets. But congratulations to the nice lady that runs the restaurant. What an amazimg transformation! I will share the news of the nicer environment with my colleagues and friends who have not been back recently. It is like a different place!

I ordered the Haddock. It was excellent. Baked potato was huge, salad just the right size. And she talked me into pie, the cherry was excellent. I was a guest at the Sleep Inn next door and if you’re staying there then Hardings will deliver to you. The food was yummy and the service was fast. Definitely worth it.

I’ve stayed at the hotel behind them numerous times but I usually get in late and leave early so I never had the chance to eat there until this trip. The food was great as was the service. I had the country fried steak, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, and dinner rolls. Everything was delicious and I’ll definitely make a point to arrived early/leave late enough so I can eat there at least once every time I’m staying at the hotel on my future work trips!

First time eating here. My fiance recommended eating here since the restaurant is on the way leaving Charleston. Got the battered haddock, and the fish is amazing with the given Worcestershire sauce. Such a cozy place as well. I felt most of my stress go away.

Nice family restaurant. There is a good mix of locals ans travelers that frequent this establishment. The food is tasty, home cooked, and served up piping hot! The waitstaff are friendly and hospitable. There is a small store in the front area. The decor is a bit dated, but it feels homey. I had the liver and onions and my husband had a breakfast skillet. Both were quite tasty.

Researched places to visit for food in WVA before our trip. This place really stood out and was looking forward to it. Parking was difficult as the restaurant was very busy. Upon entering there was a line and wait. I asked the hostess what the wait was. She didn't know. I asked it it would be an hour but she said no, I don't think so. We started to wait but the line was moving very slow. I suspect the wait was 45 mins to an hour if not longer. There was a nice gift shop area but it was packed because of the wait. After waiting 10 minutes we decided to leave because we were very hungry. I can't say anything bad other than the hostess should have an idea of wait time. I was looking forward to the meal but I will try again!!!!

Friendly. Clean. I am still getting used to food uo here. Got the side dish dinner, or the vegetable plate as we call it down South. Food comes, looks great. And tasted exactly like veggies with no salt or pepper or butter added while cooking. I admit I added some of each to what was appropriate. Now, the blueberry pie!!! That was wonderful!! I will probably go back when I am here for work. Just have to being some garlic!

3 because the service we received was a 5 but the food was a 1. Not bad prices for sure, so that made it better. The fish I had was not good, the tarter sauce tasted funny and the coleslaw was awful. May have been the way the coleslaw was made but i did not care for it. The fries were actually good though. The chicken tenders were some of the worst I have ever had. I am not a picky person and will eat almost anything, but should have passed on this one.

Stopped here on my way home to Ohio to meet up and see my dad. Food was good but service leaves alot to be desired. Items not brought to table, drinks not refilled in timely fashion, and waited 15 min for our waitress to stop at table to ask for check and another 15 min only for her to return to pick it up only to realize she never brought it to us.

They have a sign telling you to wait to be seated. It took about 10mins to be seated due to having to wait for the middle aged cashier to finish chit-chatting. Regular customers, however, just walked in and sat themselves.The wait for our order was too long. The chicken breast ordered was small and dry. Apparently the milkshakes are good.

Stopped by here on our way through. We got the fried chicken dinner with green beans, mashed potatoes and gravy, and corn bread. Chicken was good, green beans and mashed potatoes tasted like they were from a hospital cafeteria: edible but not what I was expecting. The potatoes tasted like boxed potatoes and thre gravy looked and tasted also like a mix. The beans had little flavor and were mushy like canned green beans. We also got 3 pies: coconut cream, apple, and graham cracker. They were all good, but not amazing.

Our waitress was top notch, exceptionally friendly, good down home food. The portions were large and the prices were reasonable. They serve all day breakfast and I would definitely recommend the pancakes, as big as the plate and extra fluffy.

Called in my order to pick along my way home from work. My order was done before the predicted time, so very fast service. Price was a little steep for a grilled chicken salad but it is pretty filling and tasty, so not the end of the world. Fries are crinkle cut, but I loved them. No burnt fries, perfectly prepared. Highly recommended.

This is my husband's favorite restaurant. He and his friends always go here for their monthly car club get togethers. Also it's their favorite breakfast place. The food is tasty and is country cafe style. Atmosphere is homey. Waitresses are great.

I haven't had service like this in years our waitresses name was Debbie she was very polite she asked us what we wanted to drink as we looked at the menu she brought our coffee to us took our orders she immediately brought out our salads and kept our coffee cups full we was halfway through our salads and she brought out our food as we were eating she kept checking on us the food was very delicious and we even had dessert. I do recommend eating here and I hope your experience is as good as ours was . I'm very grateful to people like Debbie and all the staff at the Harding's restaurant . 5/2/2021

I have been eating at this family style restaurant for several years and 90% of the time service is outstanding. I say that because we have had not so great service and if that happens to you please give it another try. The food is delicious and mostly traditional comfort meals. Be prepared they can get busy, but overall it is worth the wait, especially the homemade (not frozen) pies...if you have room after the large portion meals :)

My family and I have been going to this restaurant every year for the past six or seven years, and it still has yet to disappoint. Their pancakes are phenomenal every time we go and same with the omelets. The staff is always very kind and welcoming. Great place to have a home style meal!!

I've always loved Harding's because the food and service are phenomenal! They even have a room for parties and conferences. I don't know the restrictions during COVID, but they do offer inside dining. The foods are served hot and fresh at a very reasonable price.

We came in on a Sunday at the peak of the busy time. We were created and seated in a very short time. The wait staff and our waitress were Friendly curious and fast in taking our order, clearing our dishes and refills. Good down home food. A little high on a few things for the value, but all in all a good place to take friends and family. The Reuben sandwich there is very good. Their homemade chili is very good too, but a small serving for the money. The waitress we had the evening was a wonderful friendly person and she made the evening even better for our family dinner.

This looks like a great experience. The country fried steak was out this world. All sides were very good and fresh. This place has a grassroots feel of all the huge chains like cracket barrel or Perkins but with a discreet West Virginia charm. Service was top notch. Anna and Sarah were wonderful.. see all gone. Great restaurant featuring homestyle meals, breakfast all day, daily lunch and dinner specials. Convenient to I-79. Service is normally really good. If patron has food allergy ask for manager....she's (Mary) very knowledgeable and will prepare the meal herself to avoid x-contamination and allergy ingredient. We go every week!

This restaurant has been an area go-to place for decades. Whether eating solo, with a few friends or in a large group, the accommodations fit. There's a eating bar area or small table seating if you want to dine alone, booths and larger tables for small groups and banquet tables in a separate wing for large groups and private parties. The prices are reasonable, with lunch specials and many regular menu items for less than $10 a person, and that includes your drink. All seating is served by friendly and helpful wait staff, so no fast food feel or atmosphere. I had the turkey and dressing special and my lunch partner had the soup. Both were country cooked, tasty and served quickly to accommodate lunch schedules. Their breakfast foods are well known also, and the restaurant is always populated with customers during most all hours of operation. In my years as a patron, I cannot remember waiting more than a few minutes to be seated. In the event that you must wait a few minutes, those can be well spent browsing in the adjoining gift shop where you will find something for most anyone and a selection of greeting cards and post cards to share with someone special. I highly recommend you give Harding's Restaurant a try.

Excellent home cooking and a wonderfully friendly staff! Very easy off and on interstate 79 at Mink Shoals exit and right next door to Sleep Inn, it's about as convenient as it can be. My mother and I both agreed the food could use a bit more salt, but that's a matter of taste.

We have been frequent patrons for over 20 years! Hubby ALWAYS orders the Hungry Man breakfast which has been consistently satisfactory. Good variety of menu items. Ranch dressing so yummy that we preorder and by it by the pint! Fast, friendly service. Love it!

Been stopping in there since I was 9 years old one of my family's favorite places to eat . And Sunday morning there is busy but nothing better than after a long church service stopping in to get completely food drunk and drinking thier awesome coffee to keep awake. They always ask would you like dessert as you sit there in sweats from there amazing food knowing one more bite would surely kill you lol . So what do I do ...but one of thier whole homemade pies to eat after a long sunday afternoon nap . Best days i can remember growing up included eating here .

They generally don’t allow you to swap a daily special soup and sandwich for non-meat options if it’s not the ‘daily special’. But the manager allowed the swap after I explained my food restrictions. (Tomato soup and grilled cheese). Great service. Great food.

Your typical home-style faire. I usually sit at the bar, especially if they are busy. The servers have always been friendly and helpful. Food runs the gamut here. Everything from seafood to beans and cornbread (which happens to be my favorite!) Love the coleslaw here also, and the pies are all great. If home cooking type food is what you're searching for, I'd give Harding's a shot!

My wife and I have eaten at Harding's for several years. Today we both got a barbecue and french fries. The barbecue was very small and the French fries we're not fresh and we're cool and seem like they must have set in the kitchen for a good while. It is a pleasant atmosphere and you have plenty of time to sit and talk after you have eaten your meal. They have a very nice gift shop.

Nice atmosphere polite staff did very well we had a large party and one waitress Kate handled it all I believe we had 17 guests at our table. Would highly recommend and will return.

Not much seemed to actually be homemade. Spent $20 on one meal, $10 seemed to be more fitting. Packaged gravy, powdered lemonade, instant mashed potatoes, "country" green beans were bland, no bacon in them at all. Atmosphere was okay but it freezing from the air conditioning. Will not return until I hear of you actually getting your money's worth.
