Reviews of Fazio's
A friend visited and shared pics from a childhood favorite. Noted that the Veal Parmigiana special was excellent! Smothered with Fried Peppers topped with a delectable melted Cheese Sauce. Served on a platter with steaming Linguine with a House Salad.
Enjoy soft music and candlelight in one of their 4 dining rooms.
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
One of my all time favorite Italian restaurants. A classic staple of Charleston. Their dishes are alway delicious, no matter what day or time you come here. Everything from tortellini, veal clambrazia, garlic toast, spumoni ice cream, you can’t go wrong with any of the options. Servers are all friendly & attentive. Environment is nice and romantic, good for everything from a date or family get togethers. Will forever be a favorite!
Awesome little hidden Italian restaurant. Waiter was awesome. All the food was delicious. Had the calamari as an appetizer. Was perfectly cooked. Not chewy at all. Also had the seafood fettuccine. Sauce was delicious. My gf had the chicken marsala. Daughter had chicken Alfredo. Everyone loved their meal. Little pricey but def worth the money. We'll def be back.
Arrived without a reservation but they found a way to get us a table within fifteen minutes. My family of five adults and two children all had different entree's. All the entree's were fabulous and I feel my veal Parmesan was simply incredible. A fun old style Italian restaurant with great food and service. Thanks for getting us into your great restaurant.
This family-owned restaunt is always a delight to visit. Arrive early or call ahead for reservations! My mom enjoyed their steak and alfredo, but for me the alfredo sauce could use a tiny bit more garlic or pepper or something, I don't know, but the consistency was perfect! The bread was delicious and held up well (didn't go stale) until we ate the leftovers the next day. The service was quick, kind, helpful, and the food was hot, delicious, and very well made. I would go back but not too soon and not too often (steak and a side of alfredo with a side salad, chicken alfredo with a side salad, free bread, 1 glass of wine = $96)
Waitress was very quick with refills, and the food was great.
So Fazios is one of the best fine dining options in Charleston, WV. The food is always great, great staff, just be prepared to wait this place has limited hours and fills up quickly during peak times but you can call ahead and get a reservation if you want. Overall this place is great for a date night or family celebration and Fazios will have you covered.
Fazio's offers delicious Italian cuisine. We had an excellent dinner! The staff and service were wonderful, too. Great job!
This was my first time dining there and honestly I felt like it was overrated and overpriced. Two other friends were with me. One who had been there before and one who had not. I've heard this place was nice from several people, so my expectations may have been set too high.
The garlic toast one friend ordered with her pizza was on point. But I'm not sure that was complimentary like I would've expected, I think she had to order it, lol.
I thought it was disappointing that they couldn't update their menu's pricing, instead there's several items listed with no prices, they just read "market price", in other words, "ask for price". I don't know, I found that to be a little stuffy, but maybe I don't eat at nice enough restaurants or something. My filet was good and filling, but for $57, I could've gone about anywhere else and had food left over.
When we were leaving one friend wanted to take home what was left of her pizza, so she asked for a carry out container. I would've thought our waitress would have let her take care of it herself or at least used some sort of utensil to handle her food. Nope, instead she just bare handled everything, gross, lol.
For me, this place wouldn't be my first choice. Maybe it's only intended to be a special occasion type restaurant or something, I'm not sure (at least there's no dress code). People have stressed to me how great of a restaurant this place is and how it's a pseudo-famous, city staple, but my first impression didn't really impress me.
Great food and very quiet spot. Book ahead or you might not get in! Authentic Italian meal.
Traditional and delicious Italian cuisine in the heart of Charleston, WV. Building inside and out looks like it was lifted right out of old school NYC with Sinatra singing over rhe speakers.
Classic Italian restaurant. Can't stay away from the baked lasagna. Also a great experience.
This place was fantastic. It server was great, the food was great, it was all around a great dinner.
I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. A beautiful ambiance.❤️
Outstanding food and a large menu selection. The service was great and staff was friendly and helpful.
Great food. The Long Island Iced Tea was lacking a bit, and they don't serve Moscow Mules, but the wine was good. It's too dark to read the menus, though, and frigid on the particular visit I had. The service was very friendly! My server even put a candle in my cheesecake when she found out it was my birthday...too sweet! I saw kids enjoying their food as well, so I would definitely recommend Fazzios for an excellent dining experience for the whole family.
Went here for my grandpas birthday and their food was tasty
Basically this place hasn't changed much in the 51 years that we have frequented it. Although they expanded the dining area, they have maintained the original feel. Staff still dresses in black vests with white shirts for a very professional look and they all seem to be super customer oriented and friendly.
My other half loves the spaghetti so much that she never tries anything else on the menu, and it's the first item. I, on the other hand, have tried nearly every item and we are never disappointed.
My husband got a blackened filet that he could cut with his fork. I ordered the basil chicken pasta. Both were DELICIOUS ! Reservations recommended for larger groups.
It's not fair to the other places I've been to compare this review to those because tonight SHE was with me again and this is where we first met so I'm already taken with everything about this place. The service was consistently superb but truthfully I wouldn't have known of it was awful because all I could do was look at her and talk to her and pinch myself inside that we were here together again. She is so spectacularly wonderful and infinitely beautiful in every sense of the word both inside and out so you could not remove the joy off my face tonight with a chisel and a hammer. And so you begin to see why I love this place so. The meal was just delicious and the experience outstanding.
Decent portion sizes but the flavor was average at best for the spaghetti with meat sauce and pesto with chicken. The chicken marsala was sorely lacking and I would not reccomend.
Great times here and good food! A nice place to celebrate special occasions. The food has always been great except for the "delicious fried chicken." Don't order this. It wasn't bad but it wasn't anything to write home about. I've had better fried chicken at fast food restaurants. Their steak is amazing and so is their Alfredo. It is an experience. Not a place for a quick bite but a place to stay and enjoy.
It was delicious! The filet was amazing. I personally could have used a little more seasoning on it, but that's just me. The fried ravioli, so good! Their garlic toast melts in your mouth. We had a really nice time.
We've been coming to this place for years & the only thing that's changed is the prices. And they have gone up! The food is ok. But $17.95 for 2 manicotti shells seems like a lot to me. The appetizers are SMALL. And the prices for dessert are high for the portion. I understand inflation and am willing to pay the price if the food and service matches it. Last night was kind of a miss for me. Also, if you want to be able to see the menu, bring a flashlight😁
Waitress wasn't very attentive but she was nice. Food priced a little higher than I would have expected, especially considering how old the building is. Food was good and portion sizes normal. We asked for oil for the bread and they charged us $1.50 for it without mentioning. I'd give them a 3.5*. I eat there every other Black Friday dinner (once every 2 years) and this was my 4th time there.
I was in town on a project and we had our final group dinner here. Excellent experience. I had the blackened grouper and was allowed to substitute chicken parmesan for one of my sides. I was very impressed with the service and quality of the food. Highly recommend
First time here. Didn't expect such a great dining experience in a warehouse district.
I have been going here since the early 1980's. Not much has changed inside the restaurant including the food which is great and I like tradition. Long time family owned affair. LOVE the appetizer sausages with peppers.. That and the toasted garlic bread and an ice cold beer. Mmmmm. Now I have talked myself into a trip there tonite.
The wait staff and other staff were very friendly and accomodating. The atmosphere was lovely. And the food was absolutely fantastic!! We dined with a party of 8, and everyone was pleased with their choices. I highly recommend it!
Just like I remember it as a child. Our parents loved this place and we often went when we were young. Back then, I was too picky. This last time, I cut loose and the food was phenomenal! The ambiance is one of rich history. Highly recommended to those who don't mind spending a little more money.
I was taken here for a special date night. My significant other hadn't been there for over forty years and wanted to see if the spaghetti and meatballs were still as good as he remembered. We weren't disappointed! What a quaint restaurant. Old time feel of ambiance, delicious food, and top notch service.
Eat there about everyday the people is great and laugh and carry on with all of us.
A hidden gem among warehouses in an industrial area of town. Our first visit I thought my husband was lost. You walk in through an unassuming brown door to a dimly lit area with someone sitting at a reception desk asking if you have a reservation. It’s almost like walking into an old secret prohibition era speakeasy. It’s big inside and usually very busy. Old carpet, Italian murals on the walls. The service is fantastic, the food is even better and the bread is brought in daily, fresh baked. The menu is big, so maybe look at it before you arrive and order dessert to take home. This is our favorite Italian restaurant in the history of ever. It’s authentic. I asked for my pasta sauce to be a little spicy if possible and the chef nailed the flavor and spice! When you’re all done, no fiddling with boxing your leftovers (you will have them). they do it for you. Great date night option! Hope you take the opportunity to enjoy!
Has always been a highly regarded restaurant in Charleston, but they need a new look. The lighting is so dark you can't see to eat, the food was decent but honestly not in line with the prices. Sangria was good though!
Great food. The place needs renovated. High class prices and the place is covered with paneling from the 70"s. It's so dark inside that it makes you wonder what they're hiding. Great Ravioli anyway. Stay away from " market prices" steaks and seafood the surprise will tag your wallet!
Delicious pasta entrees (seafood linguine and Nells specialty pasta), cold and crisp salads, yummy garlic bread and a lovely Chianti Classico. Andy our server was the perfect professional and helpful waiter! A great find on our pit stop in Charleston.
you can't go wrong at Fazios. we have been going regularly for years. We got a carryout order for Mothers day (a couple days early). Everything was great. the order was ready for pickup when promised and Everything was great.
great food, good service. However, after our large party had just wrapped up eating and after we just paid our nearly $400 bill we were ask to leave because other people were waiting. There were larger parties that had been there longer than us and which had finished before us were still there. I am sure their bill was larger than ours, with all the wine and drinks., Even though we were preparing to leave after paying our bill, it was very rude of them to ask us to hurry up and leave.
This is a good place to eat but they have always been rude.
I have been going to Fazio's since I was a little girl, and now that I live on the other side of the country I make a point to eat here when I visit the area. The atmosphere is great for a family dinner, date night, special occasions, and group outings. The food is the best Italian cuisine in Charleston, hands down. It's absolutely nothing like the massive amounts of chain restaurants, which is quite refreshing. When you come here you are guaranteed a great meal and to be treated like family.
A great place to eat in Charleston, WV with lots of history and lots of flavor
Very nice server and good food for anniversary dinner.
Really good local Italian joint. It's been in Charleston forever. I ordered spaghetti and meatballs, and my girlfriend got the lasagna. Really good marinara sauce. We go to Fazio's for every special event, and are never disappointed.
Our tennis doubles group went to Fazio's for a family dinner. They were very welcoming and have an extensive menu. We had a great waiter and enjoyed delicious meals while visiting for nearly 3 hours - no rush. Thanks for your hospitality Fazio's!
I enjoyed the meal and the people that work there.
Awesome local family restaurant. Always a treat to go there. As with most Italian places, basically everything will be good. The location is a bit unfortunate though, quite out of the way. You occasionally may need to wait a bit for a table.
Excellent Italian dishes served evenings for dinner only. Reservations are recommended. Dinner service is definitely a unique dining experience, candles illuminate each table making vibe romantic feel. Semi formal attire to formal
Very warm welcome. Excellent waitperson. Delicious food. Comfortable atmosphere. Took over 5 minutes from the time the charge from card company hit my phone before the slips arrived to sign.
I love this place! I've never gotten anything from here that wasn't good. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic. It looks tiny from the outside but its huge inside. Great place to eat!
I have grown up going to Fazio's and it has remained a family favorite over the years. The cheese tortellini is my favorite and everyone always raves about their steaks. Oh and don't forget the garlic bread, we always have to order extra because we love it so much!
Absolutely delicious! Never had a bad meal or dining experience at Fazio's.
Sublime! We had a top-notch meal including appetizers and dessert with coffee. I can't reccomend this one enough if you're looking for a nice meal out.
Awesome food and service-- shared with filet with pasta and the stuffed eggplant this time! Both very good, always a stop @Fazios when in Charleston
Perfect I. Can't even begin to describe how Amazingly Delicious, fresh, & flavorful the food is... That staff very Friendly & kara our waitress was spot on.. Even though they were very busy we didn't have to wait for anything. I don't know what else to say except you have to try it..... Thank You for the best meal of my life...
Yummy! The best filet in town; get it blackened. Scallops superb. Lasagna my favorite. Must get the homemade sausages if ordering an appetizer. Garlic bread strong enough to keep Dracula away.
I hadn’t been here in a while and the food is still great but I feel that is overpriced for what you get. The dessert and steak were very expensive, I don’t know if I’ll be back again anytime soon.
Bread was kinda rough and crusty ,I had the egg plant parmigiana,. And my date had chicken carbonara, both were very generous and quite good .
Excellent food. Nice cozy atmosphere. Plenty of parking. A bit pricey. Would appreciate an allergen menu for the many people who need one. Then I would go five stars.
Visiting from Virginia. Was told they had excellant food. Was exactly that! My wife got baked lasagna and I got blackened filet mignon. Will definitely eat here again when I'm back in town!
Please dont embarrass yourself like we did, wear a nice shirt and slacks like a respectable human being. We were in shorts and t shirts and clearly underdressed, but we didn't know. Now you do, don't be a hillbilly. Incredible food, and totally worth the price.
It sure is an institution in Charleston. My family has been coming here my whole life. My mother even says she came here as a youngster. I am a veal lover and they do veal really, really good here.
Food is wonderful... We had a small business gathering that was not handled very well. From slow order taking to the manager busting in to the room to take dessert orders DURING our Q&A session (very rude). We we interrupted abruptly.
Delicious Italian food, friendly staff, and warm atmosphere. The employees are very knowledgeable about the food and wine. Don't judge the food by the 1970s decor.
Had the blackened filet. Cooked as ordered and one of the better steaks I've ever had to date. And the Cajun pasta was very tasty.
Had a delicious dinner, good service, good environment. I have to give a 3 star for the simple fact I paid with a hundred, got 50 back in 5s and 1s and although not a problem I understand the server and tried to exchange them at the front and the women got an attitude and said she was full on 5s and 1s.
Selene excellent service. Food as always was terriffic. Each of the four members of our party got a different entre' and each in turn bragged about how good their meal was.
A staple in the Italian restaurant community of West Virginia. Charleston's best place for a big plate a of spaghetti. Have ate there for 15+ years and never had a bad experience...
I ordered the filet mignon medium well and it was rare. The order time was slow and it took 30 minutes just to get my cake for dessert. The cake was wonderful.
I've traveled all over the world and this is my favorite place to eat in this region. Some of the best Italian food you'll find anywhere. Some of these reviews are simply ridiculous. If the prices are too high then you should eat at the Olive Garden.
Love going here. A place my parents would take us on some Saturday evening back in the 60's. I still love to go on special occasions.
One of the best Italian restaurants in Charleston. The steak is to die for. Always worth a visit when you're in town.
Most most romantic restaurant in town great food reasonable price.. it's our place to go for special occasions.. bringing our. Guests
Delicious Italian food with an authentic Italian flair, and the steaks are to die for. Only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because parking is difficult (there is a small parking lot in back, but you'll most likely have to park on the street), and the interior is extremely well-maintained but dated, giving one the feel of a trip back to the 1950s (of course if that's your thing, this could be considered a plus!)
It's worth the hype, and your wallet won't hate you for going there, but you'll know where that extra $$$ went. The food is unparalleled and among the best you can get for an Italian restaurant the wait staff are top notch!
One of my favorite restaurants in all of Charleston! Service is slow but great (expect that) and the food is wonderful. Best steaks in Charleston!
Top notch Italian food and service. Warm lighting, nice wine selection, and the best garlic bread you'll ever have, to complete your dining experience.
Fast service and a terrific waitress. Filet was a little dry and steak fries needed some seasoning. My husband enjoyed his spaghetti.
Wonderful atmosphere, polite, efficient staff. Food was delicious and plentiful.
I've cooked all my life but that was the best dinner we had out in a long long time Charleston Radio's was great a 10 plus
Enjoyed the food, decor and wait staff. Friendly and helpful. Menu has something for everyone. Reasonable prices.
Food is excellent and service is great. We are eating there this evening at 7:00. Can't wait.
Food was SO GOOD. Our waitress was fantastic.
Always been the go to place for authentic Italian food and warm friendly service. Sadly both have suffered after the passing of the gentleman and his wife.
Great Valentines Day dinner!! Didn't have to wait too long without a reservation! Friendly staff and excellent dinner and dessert
We always look forward to an evening at Fazio’s when we are in Charleston. Everything is superb: food, service, staff, atmosphere.
The best Italian in the city of Charleston, hands down. This is my go to spot for a nice atmosphere and to sip some Pinot Dior!
Best Italian in the area. Been coming for 30 years, since I was a kid.
First time me & my wife had ate here & we really enjoyed our experience & will most definitely be returning!!

Great atmosphere and food. Large menu selection. You won't be disappointed!
Enjoyed the food and service!
Food was fantastic, but there was a musty smell, and for some reason they serve a piece of cantaloupe, soda crackers, and butter when you are seated.
My favorite Italian place..food is so good...and the people are really nice...love when my sweetie takes me
Great food. Too much to eat
Great feeling. Staff was attentive and friendly.
Great atmosphere, and lovely cuisine. A staple of upscale, local dining here in Charleston.
Really nice server named Jordan. Wonderful old time feel. Vegetarian options, fresh pasta.
My favorite. The filet mignon is wonderful, the alfredo is wonderful, the tiramisu is wonderful and the service is always wonderful. Did I mention how wonderful everything was?
Loved the food. Popular place so expect to wait if you don't make a reservation...
Great food & service. Best to call in advance for reservations.
Cool nostalgic atmosphere. Love original places like this , however the food is way overpriced for the proportions
The food was good but the server was not. She was more interested in getting ready for her vacation I guess.
A wonderfully delightful small Italian restaurant. Intiment atmosphere and high quality food.
Wonderful..our large group was very well taken care of by Andy.😊
It was ok. My family had a lot of us meet up here but they wouldn't do seperate checks.
Been coming here with my family for years. Always a great place to get Italian food.
Very nice place food was a different story but the garlic toast is on point I could eat a loaf of it
The best Italian restaurant in Charleston West Virginia! Everything is so authentic, they have obviously come straight from Italy.
Fresh veal parm and marsala were fabulous. Don't remember his name, but server was perfect!!!

The food was wonderful & delicious as usual & I hadn't been there in years. I was excited to go back & find so much the same - of course the prices were no where near what they were when I was there years ago.
Great Italian food. Baked lasagna is excellent. Would recommend for a special occasion.
My husband ordered dinner for us, Friday, April 21. The bill was $90.+. We both ordered the sausage & pepper appetizer, 2 spaghetti & meatballs, and 2 antipasto salads. I don’t know what they have done to their spaghetti sauce, but this was inedible!. It had a smell like it had an over-abundance of cinnamon in it. We have eaten often at Fazio’s over many, many years, both dining in, and take-out. You could smell this the minute you took the lid off. I managed to only take 2 or 3 bites of the spaghetti. Please, I’m happy if you have had wonderful meals there. This is our review, and I can’t imagine giving it another shot. It was JUST THAT BAD!!!
