Great find on our trip back south. Dem 2 Bros & a Grill. Best BBQ I’ve had in a while. Brisket was perfect, chicken breast very tasty. Baked beans & potato salad both prepared very well. Our server was married to one of Dem brothers. She blamed him for being out of Ribs, my only disappointment at this stop. Plenty of food for us big boys. And priced very fairly.

On recommendation from my son, walked down to Dem 2 Brothers And A Grill BBQ on Charlestons’s west side. It was ABSOLUTELY worth it! Definitely one of the top BBQ choices in Charleston, WV! You’ll enjoy a laid back homey vibe, smooth RnB playing, a steady stream of locals picking up takeaway orders, a small bar in the back being enjoyed quietly and flat panels aplenty to look at between bites. Staff greeted me upon entry and showed me to the dining area where I ordered promptly. Service is fast and locally friendly. I felt right at home. The food: Pulled pork BBQ sandwiches with moist, smokey pork, sweet and spicy sauce provided on the side, killer baked beans and sweet potato casserole were all delicious. The slaw was good. Sweet tea perfect. Prices are not ‘cheap’ but more than reasonable based on the quality of food. When you’re cravin’ smokey BBQ, head to the West Side and pop in to Dem 2 Brothers And A Grill BBQ. You’ll not regret it.

We were on a LONG road trip from Dallas to Virginia and West Virginia when my wife came across a story of Dem 2 Brothers BBQ and mentioned that the owner, Adrian Wright, had played for the Tampa Bay Bucs. BBQ and NFL...I was sold! We met Braxton and Ashely (his son and daughter) at the restaurant and felt right at home as a result of their kindness and welcoming nature. But the BBQ was what closed the deal! Man oh man was that some great BBQ! Sliced brisket sandwich with sweet potatoes and mac & cheese! Coming from Texas, we are proud of our BBQ. But this was easily one of the top 2 or 3 BBQ sandwiches I have ever had...maybe THE best! The sweet potatoes were delicious and the mac & cheese reminded me of my mom's. As I told Braxton and Ashley, they made my day and so did that delicious BBQ! We took home a quart of their BBQ sauce so we can enjoy Dem 2 Brothers just a little longer. We met another very nice lady there who sold us a couple of shirts and I hate that I forgot her name as she was every bit as kind as his two children. Thank you Mr. Wright and thank your BBQ family! After going to a lot of disappointing BBQ joints over the years Dem 2 Brothers did not disappoint. As soon as you pull up you know it's going to be good from the smell of smoke and BBQ coming from the pit behind the restaurant. The lady who took my order was super friendly and pleasure to talk to. I got the 2 meats and 2 sides combo. I chose the pulled pork and ribs because they were out of brisket. Great smoke flavor, the meat was nice and moist and the sauce was perfect. The Mac and cheese was good but nothing to brag about but the sweet potato casserole was delicious! Definitely worth the trip if you are in the area.

I finally ate here for the first time, and will definitely be back! I felt slightly sick afterward only because I ate too much, because it was all too good not to finish even after I was totally full. I had the brisket sandwich with mac and cheese and sweet potato casserole, and it was all fantastic - best brisket I've ever had, tender and smoky with the nice blackened bits, great sauce (I went for the spicy, which had a nice little kick but wasn't overly hot), and delicious sides. Service was friendly and attentive, and the food was ready very fast, no issue at all having time to dine in during a workday lunch break. Now that I know how good it is, I'll be picking up takeout way more often than I should.

My wife and I had heard great things about them and finally decided to try it. We got the pulled pork sandwich with two sides (potato salad and baked beans) the whole meal was absolutely amazing. We have eaten there several times since and will continue to do so, best barbecue I've ever had in my entire life. Excellent portions as well as A+ service couldn't ask for more. 🔥👍

Outstanding. The ribs fell off the bones, pulled pork was excellent. Our sides (sweet potato casserole and beans) were equally fine. Best of all, every staff member was hospitable and welcoming. If you are going by on either Interstate 64 or 77, it is easy on and off for superb BBQ with a great soul.

Excellent BBQ, and this is coming from a connoisseur with 2 smokers on my back deck. The staff is welcoming and friendly, and the side dishes are tremendous - particularly the baked beans, collard greens, and mac & cheese. The prices are better than lesser quality BBQ restaurants.

Went for lunch today. Always a good sign at a BBQ place when you see and smell smoke. They have a well seaoned wood fired barrel smoker. Had a 1/2 rack of ribs. Light rub, great smoke ring tender and moist. Will definitely be back. Support your local restaurants.

Delicious brisket and bbq! We all chose the spicy bbq sauce and thought it was delicious. But the real star here is that Mac and cheese! Sweet tea was very sweet, but really good, comparable to Bojangles or McDonalds tea. Potato salad and baked beans were fine. The only reason I gave four stars rather than 5 was the customer service. The lady at the front desk wasn’t the most pleasant and just rushed us along with no form of greeting and just wanted our orders and for us to get out of her hair. It seems like this place can get pretty busy (it was when we left), but we came in during a slower period. However with that being said, the food was great and hit the spot.

I travel for a living and have had Kansas City BBQ, St. Louise BBQ, New Orleans, and or course hundreds of others. This BBQ has got to be the best I have ever had. The ribs were not sloppy wet and had amazing flavor. The 2nd best part was the sweet potatoes. Holly $hit!!!!!!! Hands down, the best brisket I've had! Great smoke flavor, slightly crisp crust, and a fantastic rub...no need for any sauce. The ribs are amazing as well. The baked beans have the perfect amount of brown sugar, not too sweet...just a great flavor. This is a must stop for anyone in, or passing through, Charleston. I'm jealous that I live out of state and can't eat this regularly. I'm in town for another 5 days and will probably eat here 5 more times. As a bonus, BB King was playing the entire time I was eating. 👍

The price as went up and the portions have gotten smaller over the years. The ribs were tuff the baked beans tested like cinnamon. I'm not sure what that was all about.

We had chooped bbq pork,ribs,bbq sandwich w/slaw. Sides , Mac & cheese, sweet potatoes, cole slaw. Meats came sauced heavily but wound up being ok . No sauces on the table, nor were they offered . Glad we tried them on our trip. Next time I'll try the chicken.

I have eaten BBQ from all this country and when my kids had a dance competitions in Charleston I was looking for places that served BBQ. WE decided to try this place out and boy oh boy was it good. Good enough we went back the following weekend almost a hour drive just to eat there again and the second time was just as good.

Visited on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered pulled pork - spicy - and husband ordered chicken - standard Q sauce - and sausage. We were a bit surprised to find the meats served with bread, like sandwich and hot dog buns. It's ok, but wish we had known. We would have opted for the 'que to be served straight up. The sauces were very tasty. Note the sauce is not incorporated into the chicken, though the chicken was moist enough. Overall, the meats were a solid 4. The potato salad was a bit heavy on the mayonnaise. The cabbage was quite tasty. The collard greens, however, are the stuff dreams are made of! Dang! More...please. 5+5. Ambience was nice. Great music, awesome football vibe. Yaaasss! Server could have been a tad more attentive. Left thirsty - never good with spicy sauce option. When single box was not enough to load leftovers, asked for second, and saw just a snippet of slight eye roll. While I DO appreciate servers who don't hover, at least one refill inquiry would have been welcomed. Def go for the food.

I'm from S.C., and it's been a long time since I had some amazing pulled pork and good collard's. Not to mention, it seems alot of places up here seem to make their tea like syrup. Dem 2 Brothers made me feel like I was back down South. The collards were just right, and the pulled pork had a wood fired taste. And the mac-n-cheese was amazing. As a foodie, this place is worth trying. Believe me, you wont regret it. And the price of the meals were reasonable.

Preferred the brisket over the ribs. Had some good flavor depth. Ribs were a tad dry. The Wider fried fish was very tasty. Sizeable portion and friendly staff. Sweet potato casserole and baked beans were tasty but a bit too sweet (dessert like). Would recommend getting the two meat and two side combo. Worth checking out if you're driving through the area.

I tried the mac and cheese.. yum! And collard greens..I'm not a huge fan of them..but these were pretty good..I tried my husband's baked beans..best I've had ..our service was very lacking not familiar with any of the items on the menu..maybe he was brand new..I would definitely recommend and return!

I don't have much to say about the food. Food was good quality and staff was polite. Con: it is sort of a whole in the wall and is in dire need of renovation and a deep clean. They've come a long way from where they've started and I hope their establishment continues to be successful.

We read the reviews and had to try it. She had the WV dog with chili and slaw. Good sized dog and tasty, she said. I had the beef brisket with both mild and spicy BBQ sauce. She had the homemade potato salad (very good). I had the sweet potato caserole.....it was different but tasty. And, I had the spicy cabbage...good! Brianna was our server and she was attentive and helped with our choices. While waiting for our food we discussed that we take dance lessons nearby, so we practiced dancing a little. Nice casual placed with fresh, good, homemade food. Try it! Prices and parking are good.

I love brisket and I've had it from all over the United States, this is hands down the best anywhere. I ordered the brisket sandwich with baked beans and coleslaw. I'm not exaggerating when I say that the brisket is exceptional and the beans and coleslaw were delicious. The portions were on point and the service here is friendly and accommodating. The restaurant is very clean and walking up smelling the wood burning in the smokers makes it very inviting. This is going to be a weekly stop for me now that I have found it.

Another BBQ gem, this time about halfway between Richmond and Louisville. Brisket so flavorful and tender it couldn't stay on the sandwich (the Mixed BBQ sauce is a nice mix of sweet + kick). Homestyle mac and (lots of) cheese. I've never had potato salad with more flavor. Baked beans on the sweeter side (I'd eat 'em for dessert). Quick and kind service. Won't forget this place!

The sauce was amazing. The service was good. The only negative was the number of bones in my wife’s chicken sandwich. She asked me to take a bite (it was huge) and I ended up spitting out several bones. Her sandwich was nearly gone so we didn’t complain, but that was a wrinkle on and otherwise perfect sandwich. (For the record, I had pulled pork and sweet potato casserole). Mine was exceptional.

Brisket was fabulous too and greens. Staff are super friendly and food served efficiently. I regret I didn't remember to order the cabbage as a side-- other diners said it was terrific.

Got the pulled pork sandwich, 2 sides, pudding, and soft drink... $21.00. That’s a little steep for a sandwich. The pulled pork had quite a bit of chewy fat chunks in it, and I sat there for 15 minutes waiting on a refill for my drink. I saw my waitress exactly two times... Once to bring my drink, and once to bring my food. Kinda disappointed in the pulled pork and service, to be honest. It wasn’t terrible, but it didn’t live up to the hype, especially considering I could have spent a few more bucks and had a steak dinner somewhere else. The sides were good, and at least the sauce itself had good flavor. IDK, all in all, I don’t see myself coming back. I do wish them the best though.

This place was a find!!! Every single thing we ordered was DELICIOUS -- We sampled the pulled pork, brisket, ribs, green beans, and sidewinder fries -- every single thing was to die for!! (Only disappointment- the sweet potato casserole was still cooking, so we couldn't try that.) We came right around lunchtime on a Saturday (from out of town), and we were greeted and seated quickly. Our server, Monique, was amazing. She was friendly and helpful, always there when we needed her, but she never ever hovered!! Perfect!! If we lived around here, we'd be here often! Man if you want some good ol' southern style barbecue you've got to visit Dem 2 brothers. They have pulled pork, barbecue ribs, chicken, beef brisket, turkey. The rib dinner that I got on yesterday was too good. The meat was tender and seasoned just right. When I went to the Grill with my mask on the smell of ribs was going all through the Grill making your mouth water. I love this place. When I got home with my meal the ribs were still hot. If you're a fan of authentic BBQ, this place is the BEST!!! I absolutely LOVE their food. I come from Fayetteville which is an hour away just to get their food. My son and I will eat here before we go to WV Power Baseball games. Mr. Wright's recipes are 100% Right! Don't change a thing! The pulled pork is outstanding, their brisket is to die for and the chicken will make your mouth water. They have just out of this world sides. The mac and cheese is one of my favorites. The baked beans and collard greens are delicious as well. I hope he has a very LONG and successful time as a restaurant owner. Their food truck is also the BEST in WV! Overall, it was pretty good. We had a late lunch, so I'm a little more forgiving that the brisket was a little dry. The pork was also more shredded than pulled, but that also could've just been what was left at the end of lunch. The sauce was pretty tasty, and the beans were really good - almost too sweet to believe they were beans! The portions are pretty fair for what you pay and service is decent but not great. Lots of TVs, if you're trying to watch some football.

Was visiting from out of town on business. A business associate recommended your restaurant and I enjoyed the food very much. Bbq ribs cooked the old fashioned way on a big charcoal grill. Hot bbq sauce was outstanding. A few suggestions though. When eating in a dine-in restaurant, I prefer to eat from metal utensils instead of plastic. Also, the side dish portions were very small in the containers that you use. Other than that, a very good dining experience.

We stopped in because we had heard nothing but rave reviews about this place! I had the bbq sandwich with green beans, and mac&cheese! These beans were SO good, the barbecue was delicious (even though I typically prefer a sweeter sauce this is delicious to change it up) the pork was tender and had a great smoke flavor to it! The Mac and cheese was good, I prefer the creamier kind but it was great as well! My husband got the 2 meats platter with brisket (oh my, you have to try the brisket) with the hotter sauce option, and chicken which was juicy but there was soo many bones! Great flavor however, just wasn’t a fan of having to pick out bones from it. The staff is literally the nicest, most genuinely polite folks you will ever meet. I can’t say I have ever been anywhere else where every single person I encountered was just so nice. Last but not least, the sweet tea is BOMB!!!

My husband and I were in town for a show choir competition. We decided to eat here after reading reviews and seeing pictures online. Our server was phenomenal. So personable. The food was absolutely incredible and was ready very quickly. Between us we had 5 sides. The macaroni and cheese and sweet potato casserole were my favorite!!! And the sweet tea was PERFECT southern tea. And to top it off, our server (the owner’s wife) gave us complimentary banana pudding and pineapple upside down cake!!!!! This was a great BBQ spot we stopped at on our way to Virginia. It was a low key BBQ joint and we were greeted warmly when we arrived. I got a pulled pork sandwich, my wife ordered the fried tilapia and the kids got mini rib meals. Everything was delicious and my daughter kept expressing how good the ribs were. The restaurant was bright and the staff was friendly. I got the combination plate with ribs and brisket, and green beans and sweet potato casserole as sides. I requested fatty brisket, because I feel it's the most flavorful, and they delivered. I did notice an extra $2 charge on the bill later (which they hadn't informed me of before paying) which might be the upcharge for the fatty pieces. Other places have charged extra for this, and it's certainly worth it to me. It was the most tender, delicious brisket I've had, and I've had quite a few. What impressed me the most was that even the few non-fatty pieces of brisket they gave me were very tender and melt-in-your-mouth good. Usually I can't stand the non fatty pieces! The ribs were also to die for, and both sides tasty. I would definitely stop back in any time I come through the area.

My wife and I have been to many highly rated barbecue restaurants all over the United States and Dem 2 Brothers And A Grill Barbecue is probably the best barbecue restaurant that we have been to. This is real, good, wholesome food and barbecue that the owners obviously put their heart and soul into. This place is a hidden gem! My only issue is that we live two states away. But I promise you this, if we are even remotely close to this place in the future, we will definitely be back! Here's some pros and cons: -Food- Pros: The food was spectacular! The ribs were seasoned just right. They were moist, tender, and the bark was spot on. The sauce that was lightly drizzled over the ribs was like the icing on an already really good cake. It didn't even need sauce honestly but it just upped the flavor. They were probably my favorite ribs I've had anywhere. I believe any good barbecue place needs good sides. I had mac n'cheese and potato salad which were both excellent, especially the mac n' cheese. My wife had the brisket sandwich and the brisket was great! It was perfectly moist, seasoned well, and tender. Cons: I have no complaints honestly! -Service- Pros: The staff here was very welcoming, professional, friendly, and efficient. We had some good conversations with the owner who was super nice. Cons: This is probably my one and only complaint which was that we were given and charged for two mac n' cheeses and a potato salad, but I only asked for what came with the meal. We didn't know this was the case because the mac n' cheese came in really small containers. We didn't say anything because we already ate it and it was good and didn't want to contest it or cause problems, especially since we had been driving for 9 hours and had 4 more to go. -Restaurant- Pros: The restaurant was a typical small-town dive. The place was clean, well set up, in a good location, and had a great comfortable atmosphere. Cons: I have no complaints! It was a great place! -Conclusion- This restaurant is an excellent place with delicious food and a great atmosphere. Will definitely be back if I'm anywhere near Charleston. I only wish this place was closer to home.

My wife and I ate there Last night we have tried several places before and have left disappointed hard to beat Dream land BBQ. We have tried Barn yard BBQ, ridge view BBQ, and also blues BBQ this by far beats them all don't get me wrong Ridge view was great. The sauce at Dem two Brothers was nice and thick and comes in hot, medium, and mild I had the hot on my ribs it was great. My wife had the pulled pork sandwich and that was awesome I highly recommend this place. It may be a hole in the wall but it has excellent compliance and food is outstanding. And if you’re like me I won’t go to a nasty place so seeing they won the cleanliest kitchen in Charleston in 2014 made me feel really good.

Stopped in on a road trip and glad we did. Excellent BBQ! I had the brisket, to was chunked in big slices on my sandwich with plenty of delicious bark. My girlfriend had the pork which was served chopped with evidence of a great smoke ring. The ribs used on the meat combined with a great smokey flavor. We both had the hot sauce that has a great sweet flavor on the front side and a smooth nice heat on the back. The sweet potato casserole is unbelievable! Mac and cheese and collards were also excellent.

I had a barbeque brisket sandwich with hot sauce. The brisket was tender and perfectly smoked, and the sauce was tangy, spicy and very flavorful. The green beans were good, (not cooked to death) but I definitely recommend the collard greens as a side of choice. The dirty rice was spicy! I have never had spicy rice before and I liked it! I ordered a brisket sandwich that comes smothered with a sweet and tangy bbq sauce. My wife order the spare ribs with mac and cheese, coleslaw and sidewinder fries. The meat was falling off the bone and the bbq sauce was equal parts sweet and tangy. Highly recommended if you love the smoky delectable taste of ribs. BBQ takeout is delicious and this place is probably the best food on the west side of Charleston. Awesome brisket. I wish they didn't use Styrofoam containers though (paper or cardboard would be better) as it makes the food seem a bit off and isn't environmentally friendly. They go to live on the levee and other local festivals. I wish them the best for their business.

Tru, our server, had good recommendations and I'm happy she talked us into the banana pudding. Also really nice to patronize a business with such a powerful impact in its community-- did you know "2 Brothers" feeds disaster victims, gives out bicycles to kids at Christmas, and does so much for the area? O must say my food was good and the lady that runs the front and sits customer was really nice. Very inviting atmosphere. I had to dock a star for 2 reasons 1. food is on the pricey side especially given the small portions, my food alone was around $23.00 including sprite soda ( my total bill was $110) for a family of 5 and 2. I felt like they had too much bbq sauce on the meat. I prefer my sauce on the side, this alouds me to taste the smoked meat, my brisket came as a sandwich much like a pulled pork sandwich which had too much sauce for my liking.

This place is finger-licking good. The meat is succulent and well-seasoned. Ribs and pulled pork are good with just the right amount of sauce and flavor. Nothing is dry. Some awesome BBQ found by accident in Charleston. This is not a fancy place, your food is served on styrofoam plates, but who cares this is a place about food not stole. They boast smoked barbecue here, but it's not that smoky. Slaw is an option, and it's recommended. The beans are very sweet. The sauce is what elevates the fare above typical WV barbecue, which in my humble opinion is not that good anywhere in the state. Dem 2 Brothers is closer to the perfection that is Memphis style BBQ.

Very good bbq with homestyle sides! Potato salad was just like dad made, but with bbq you couldnt possibly make at home, even IF you had the smoker this joint has. Friendly attentive staff to boot. Bruh, the food was bomb. But I spent more time boxing with flies than I did actually eating. I was dodging hits from flies like Floyd Mayweather. They were everywhere. 😩 Don't get me wrong, the food was amazing! But, between fighting off the hoard of flies and the weird plastic silverware and styrofoam cups I'll just order food to go next time.

Damn worth the drive from New York City. Of course I didn't drive all the way from NYC just for Dem 2 Brothers but I was in the neighborhood and needed to see what kinda BBQ WV had to offer. I tell ya them 2 brothers represent WV well! Finger lickin good ribs at very low prices and my waitress was eye candy lol. Forgot her name but she's the one with long black hair and very sweet and friendly persona. Bless that bombshell. I also had the red velvet cake, per my darlin waitress' suggestion. That cake was bakery class cake! Not the stale bulllllllsht I was expecting. The whole staff was cool and friendly. Definitely coming back for another fixin of ribs, potato salad, cake and cool people
