I hadn't been here to eat since I was a kid. One time back then we went on a field trip. I really really enjoyed the meal here. Regardless of it being busy and full of other people the meal was quick and delicious and the service was great as well. Definitely recommend.

Good food. Great place if you want a good breakfast. My only complaint is that even the meals that let you pick your own items come with biscuits and gravy. I am not a fan of biscuits and gravy, and so it would be a waste. They should let you substitute that. They do have some nice new food choices. They are currently offering a $5.00 take home meal. There were 3 choices. Chicken breast and mashed potatoes, meatloaf and Mac and cheese, and I think a sirloin steak one. I also wish they would offer some lunch food in the morning. The big fire place is really nice on cold days. We like that they still have the little puzzle games on the tables, and the little lanterns lit up. Hashbrown casserole is my favorite item, as I'm sure it is for most people. If you are on a sugar-free diet, then you will be happy to know that they offer Sugar Free syrup. I tried an iced caramel latte, which is fairly new, and you can get it hot also. And then there is the gift store ! I always find the best things there. Super cute clothes to toys to candy they had back in the day. This last visit there, they had a display of Wedding items you would use for decorating. This was perfect because I'm getting married this year. The prices are reasonable and the manager took my name and number because I wanted more of one item and he is going to try to order them for me. He certainly didn't have to do that, so that kind of customer service goes a long way. They still sell the wooden rocking chairs out front. We went on a Sunday around 9:30a and we didn't have to wait. We were seated right away and the server was prompt. It is a must stop if you have never been there before.

Server was ok, although I asked for a Southern Half and Half, tea and lemonade, I got unsweetened tea and a Pepsi. Also ordered a Medium Rare steak and received a Medium well, not the servers fault, that's all on the cook....Overall, not too bad but at least the checkout lady was nice...

Cracker Barrel is always a pleasant restaurant to visit. That "down home" atmosphere makes a person feel welcome, food is almost always cooked properly & usually tastes very good. My husband & I get a breakfast most often (regardless of the time of day), but occasionally get the pork chop dinner, which is always quite good. With the table settings, families can be easily accommodated by shifting around tables & chairs. There are often Seniors as well as parents w/children dining @ any given time of the day. The menu is wide enough to accommodate most preferences & breakfast is served @ any time of the day. Parking is ample & there is handicap parking near the entrance. Restrooms are kept clean & the gift shop is always interesting enough for a walk-through. If you happen to stop by during cold weather, you just might find a fire in the HUGE FIREPLACE!

Best location by far!! My grandmother and I went in for lunch yesterday. We get there and realize we don't have as much time as we thought we did before an appointment. Our server was amazing, I wish I knew her name. We let her know the situation and we were going to pay for the drinks and leave. Instead, our server told us she would make sure we got out of there in time. She brought our food to us very quickly so we could take it to go and even made up drinks to go for us. I can only imagine how aggravating it was for her especially during the lunch hour rush but she was very sweet and went out of her way to accommodate us. I have traveled all over the country and have eaten at hundreds of restaurants if not more but this was by far the best experience I've ever had. I really hope that her manager sees this review and gives her some sort of recognition because she deserves it.

Food this evening was excellent. I got the two catfish and it was just wonderful. My boyfriend got the country fried stake with mac n cheese. I can confirm that getting the Mac n cheese is SO worth it. Our waitress did a nice job of checking on us. She did forget to give us napkins, but we were fine for the most part. Food overall was the best I had in a long while.

There's always great food, great service and a great atmosphere at every Cracker Barrel. The staff is polite and the portions are more than enough. There's always something new in their gift shop area too. I highly recommend stopping at any Cracker Barrel if you get a chance.

The food and the store were what you'd expect to get from cracker barrel, pretty good. And the service was good but our order was very slow in coming. After we were done eating I had to sit and wait for about 10 minutes for two boxes to put the leftovers in.

There seemed to be some sorta issue with the kitchen getting the food cooked as quick as may have been desired with a full house, but the waitresses did their best to keep customers satisfied. Management even waived dinner fees for one table. The food was perfect!

I've been eating at cracker barrel since the late 80s! There hasn't been many changes in all that time, and that's a good thing! You know what to expect with a cracker barrel. Country style food, sweet tea, and lots of mams, sirs, thanks you's, and please. My waiter wasn't happy to be there that day, other than that it's exactly what I expected.

Tony and I stopped at Cracker Barrel in Kanawha City this morning for breakfast. We both opted to order the same meal. Two eggs fried overeasy on lightly toasted sourdough bread with tomato slices and a couple slices of bacon and side of cheesy hashbrown casserole. Tony ordered Sweet Iced Tea and I went with Hot Tea and lemon. The food was good and the service was horrible.

I love C.B.! Who doesn't?! However I worked there a few years back. The "backroom cleanliness" is questionable! Dishes washed in cold water. Undercooked food, old food served, a quite careless environment. And with COVID-19! Your decision. You heard it here first.

You just don't understand the madness I went through to eat at this place. I was in the area for the Mothman festival, I arrived too late to eat at this restaurant so I waited and waited for sun rise to run over and grab cheesecake pancakes. I never been to a cracker barrel and never heard of cheesecake pancakes, I had to have it. I fell asleep. When I woke up the people I traveled with had us running all over West Virginia for everything but cheesecake pancakes. Then came Saturday, Mothman day and I was determined to get my pancakes but nope, we had to get to the festival. On the way back to my motel, across the street from thus restaurant I told my travel buddy "listen man they can do what they want but we head back to NY in the morning, take me to get these pancakes now" now, I admit my travel buddies were loud, obnoxious and it was hard to pretend I didn't know them, but the waitress was tolerant to them, and rather pleasant to me. I got a dinner to go and ate my pancakes there PARTY IN MY MOUTH, good lord that was one of the best things I ever tasted. I took the other half back to my room to enjoy. Every state has something they do better than the other states, NY puts everything in a sandwich but W.V. puts details next to Breakfast or in the Breakfast like no other, they make everything creamier or something but whatever it is, it's so good, it's just so good. Even the bacon was the exact crispy bacon should be. No fatty pieces, just a perfect crisp. I don't know why I have cross 3 states to get this type of food, but it's worth it, it's so worth it. So, yeah definitely get the cheesecake pancakes and prepare to feel what heaven must be like because it's that good.

I was here visiting my son and we all went to cracker barrel and had a wonderful meal. My two young grandsons loved walking around after we ate our dinner and we purchased some merchandise. Our server was Alicia and she was fantastic! She was very attentive and took care of our needs with always a smile on her face and kindness in her actions. I had the Grandma’s Sampler breakfast, as I normally do when making a stop at Cracker Barrel, and I was very pleased with this meal. The wait wasn’t long really, and the waitress was attentive even though she was busy. I loved my pancakes, ham, bacon, and eggs. They were cooked perfectly and seasoned well. I did not care for the sausage as it tasted very freezer burnt, and the hash brown casserole was mush instead of the normal consistency.

I’m fairly certain I have said it before but we enjoy eating at Cracker Barrel because the quality is so consistent. We have eaten there all over the country and are normally satisfied. Tonight was an exception and it may just have been that I haven’t had their Country Fried Steak before. It was very disappointing. Even with the country gravy on top, which wasn’t great either, it was very flavorless. The baking powder biscuits were also overdone. The waitress was attentive and did a decent job, and I had hoped their peach cobbler a la mode would pull my rating up to four stars but it was only average, not great. I will still recommend Cracker Barrel but I do not recommend the Country Fried Steak.

My mom, 4 year old, and I ate at Cracker Barrel in Kanawha City today and we had a very pleasant experience. My son left his tablet somewhere in the restaurant and one of the managers brought it out to us at the car. The food was excellent and the service was good.

Cracker Barrel is good for a southern style meal and has an awesome storefront. We ordered the fried chicken, Mac & cheese, and fried okra..and an order of meatloaf that was a very small portion. The corn muffins and biscuits are kinda sad too. My daughter had chicken tenders, they were very dry. They don’t serve soft butter for your bread either. It comes in cold small packages. Decent for 40 bucks but could be better.

Normally, this would have been 5 stars. After all, Cracker Barrel is one of my favorite spots for down-home cooking. I had to place a to go order for food I was taking to my spouse in the hospital. I asked the cashier who I should talk to, and she called for someone to come take my order. About 15 mins later, a very nice young lady realized I was standing there and asked what I needed. I explained I needed to place a to go ord, r and someone was supposed to be coming to get my order. She apologized for my wait and said she would get my order and promptly proceeded to write it down. About 20~25 min later, another young lady realized I had been standing there, and when she asked what I needed, I told her what was going on. She started looking for my order. Shortly after that, the manager also noticed me. She asked what was going on, and I explained the situation. She asked how long I had been waiting, and I told her about 40 mins. The cashier I had originally spoke to said she thought it was longer than that. The manager also went in search of my order. When she could not locate it or find out who took it. She came back and asked what I had ordered. I told her, and in less than 5 min. she brought my to go bag. Fresh and hot. She compt my order and apologized for what had happened. Overall, I was slightly aggravated, but I figured everyone was entitled to an off day. I did offer to pay, but the manager would have no part of it. This will not keep me from returning to Cracker Barrell for my Chicken n Dumplings.

Good food, great atmosphere! The food came out quickly & was exactly what we ordered. The food is a little but pricey but not bad. It is competitive with most restaurants that are similar. This place also has a gift shop which is a nice touch. You can go & look around while waiting for your food. The only complaint that I had was that the waitress was trying to race us out of there! I'm not sure exactly why!

Classic country atmosphere and little shop with a bit of everything. Food was delicious, miss 4yo loved the mini buttermilk pancakes with colored cereal through it. I was very disappointed that they no longer have chicken livers, my favorite and they were out of cole slaw. So I got chicken tenders and a loaded baked potato and green beans. I loved the baked potatoes and the green beans were good, they give you plenty of chicken tenders and they were good. I would definitely do the loaded baked potato again. I got sweet tea as well. I was surprised they had no desserts though. I would still go again as the food is good, prices weren't too bad and the service was good too.

My bride and I have always used Cacker Barrel as a "go to " place to eat when we're traveling. This location has shown us not all CB's are the same. We had issue with the quality of the food. The sausage gravy tasted like flour. I had send my eggs back because they were not cooked. Runny yoke is okay but runny egg white is not. Another issue I had was the menu gave an option of sampling for breakfast meat, that sounds like a sample of 3 different meats. But I was told that I have to choose 1 from the list. How is that a sampling? This is just a review of my experience, I hope you have a better experience because a bad meal will really mess up an otherwise good trip.

Thursday special turkey, dressing & sweet potatoe casserole. Worryingly cool, same with try 2. 3rd try came out tasting like chicken & dumplings with the gravy looking like chicken and dumplings. It was warmer, but definitely not what we went for. Server was great.

Very good food. Loved the Bob Ross plushie and plan to go back and get him. Please hire more staff the poor waitress was over worked during the dinner rush and we wouldn't get refills or our take out boxes until much later and that's when she's rushing from table to table.

I love the friendly staff, and atmosphere here. What I really do not love about Cracker Barrel would be the difficulty of the app, and website. It should not take so long to place an order, and I'm usually missing a few sides or desserts. Yet the front staff at the registers are some of the nicest people I have ever had the pleasure to meet.

We were sat towards the back around 1pm and our service was very slow. No real sense of urgency for refills while we waited for food either. Once the food finally arrived it was pretty great. Just a shame since we were returning from vacation and we're already exhausted after a long car ride. I'm leaving 4 stars since I believe this was most likely an isolated instant with the waitress not the restaurant itself.

This was my first foray into a Cracker Barrel. It's sort of a tongue-in-cheek road trip tradition for the others in our group. The food was okay - not bad but also nothing special. Someone in our group ordered pork chops and said they made them sick. It was extremely crowded and so busy it was hard to walk through the dining area. We stopped in the little gift shop which ended up being my favorite part. Found a pair of earrings I liked.

I always enjoy eating at Cracker Barrel in KC. Always have friendly waitresses except for this last time, seems like she was mad at the World!! Still left her a good tip but, she needs to get a better attitude or a job she likes. I'm sure her job is not easy and I definitely couldn't do it. But it was a nice time out with the family.

Great service and delicious food. A word for people that use the handicapped parking you have to walk up a steep ramp when using those spaces to get to the entrance. I was fine going up but it was too steep for me to comfortably go down. My husband faced me an walked down backwards holding my hands. Next time we will park elsewhere.

For breakfast.....very disappointed. Casserole was cold as was the bacon...I know everyone is short staffed so I appreciate it even being open. But when a server makes eye contact with someone on a wait they should at least acknowledge someone will be right with you....we had to go find someone after standing at the hostess stand for 7 minutes.

This is an easy stop close to the interstate. We were seated quickly and our server immediately came over to get our drink orders. He was polite and prompt without being pushy or annoying. Our food tasted great - I had the fried chicken with a side of mashed potatoes and corn while my wife had the trout with greens. Everything tasted delightful and we even made room for banana pudding. The meal was light on our wallet too!

First time I've ever stopped at a Cracker Barrel for breakfast, Missy was our waitress she was very nice and very attentive the place was clean and neat the atmosphere was very pleasant. The food tasted okay, but, I'm not much of a grits man. The biscuits were awesome, but the sausage patties were little and the hash browns I'd rather have real potatoes fried up. Very good food. Grilled chicken was very delicious and could be cut with a fork. Baked sweet potato was excellent, the skin peeled off very well and did not have any of the sweet potato stuck to the skin. I asked for the brown sugar and butter to be placed on the side, since I was not sure I wanted the butter or brown sugar. Steamed broccoli was good as well. The salad was delicious and fresh. The server was friendly and attentive.

Food is great as expected of this favorite chain. Wait time to be seated was quick. Service stood room for improvement considering the low amount of patrons. Napkins, refills, condiment offer (butter, jellies, vinegar), and complimentary bread were the main things repeatedly asked for. Staff seemed rushed with only 3 tables filled in section. Anticipate customer needs and exceed/offer. We felt satisfied overall.

I haven't eaten at a Cracker Barrel in a couple of years and this experience was not how I remember it. The food was decent, except the waitress had to being our food back multiple times because it was not right. Not sure if this was on the cook or the waitress end, but regardless the order ended up not being right after bringing it back to the cooks twice. In addition, the hamburger was good, but the side of fries (literally only 9 fries) seemed to me to be low in quantity.

I usually LOVE Cracker Barrel... but this time not so much. The food was ok but the service was SOOO slow.... The other tables who had a different waiter then i did got their food faster... i waited 25 minutes for food where the eggs were burned and the bacon and everything else was slightly above room temperature. 5 serving platters of food came out for 5 different tables for that different waiter BEFORE my food came out. But im not gunna let one bad apple ruin the bunch.

Went for a family meal, I had the country fried chicken and it was fried to perfection. It came with 2 thick, juicy, and so tender that it could be cut with a fork. Wife had roast beef, and was very pleased. Kids had a couple of the chicken tenderloin that was very good. One in our party had the grilled chicken salad, and it was huge, and very fresh.

I have been disappointed by the food the last few times I have visited Cracker Barrel. Breakfast is usually good but not dinner options. The fried chicken was dry. The sweet potato casserole was dry and there were pieces that had been scraped off of the bottom of the serving dish. The hamburger steak tasted like it had been frozen. It was hard and dense and also dry. Again, my kids had breakfast & all liked their food. Don't order dinner.

Food taste is predictable. The temperatures are known to vary a bit. The wait staff are friendly tho it may take some time to get a table or get an order during busy times. The store has much to offer for gifts, old time snacks and unusual items for decorating. Their clothing selection is quite nice.

Very friendly but had to wait 45 minutes for mac cheese and egg sandwich. The serving of mac n cheese was less than a serving spoon on a plate. 1 coffee and 1 sweet iced tea came to $5. The tomatoes on the sandwich still had the hard white centers. I asked waitress about serving size and she said it was correct. She was very nice and waiting on more tables than she could handle. We won't go back. It was too stressful.

I honestly have never had a bad time here. The wait staff are always great, polite, and help as much as possible. They have giant checkers to play, a big fireplace thats amazing especially in the winter, and is just a comfortable place to eat. Their food is amazing in my opinion. My mother loves their chicken livers and the cheese casserole. Definitely give it a try. Also, the gift shop is amazing and unique. Older/replica antique things, toys, clothes, soaps and lotions, candy and sodas, and a lot of things you dont really see anywhere else. A little expensive in the gift shop, but very nice. I could spend a lot of money there. I wish they had the candy "Brown Cows" again. Great place to go and take your family for a nice country meal. I love it and highly recommend. I always enjoy the food here, but this visit wasn't up to par. My granddaughter had pancakes that were burnt, and the cook turned them over so you didn't see the burn until you took a bite. Our waitress was very slow, didn't keep our drinks filled, and wasn't attentive at all. Of course we had to spend a fortune in the store before we could get the kids to leave.

One of my favorite places for tradicional southern style food. Their meals are always delicious and service has been great. The managers are super friendly and so is the rest of the staff. If you stop by make sure you try their Fried Chicken BLT, their biscuits with apple butter and if you go there on Saturdays, make sure you get their special, chicken and rice and ask for grilled sardough for your bread to go with it. Good southern/country cooking. Ample portions, good prices. Breakfast is served all day. Weekend mornings and early afternoon has long waits, but, you can relax in the front porch in a rocket or browse the countryside while you wait. Friday and Saturday nights there is no wait for dinner. Which is great, since the dozens of "date night" type restaurants nearby that all have long very long waits on Friday and Saturday nights. They serve home cooking style good like pot roast, meatloaf, cod, trout, fried chicken or steak, ribeyes, chicken and dumplings, mashed potatoes, salads, sandwiches, etc.. They are well known for their hearty breakfasts. Mama's pancake breakfast, country boy breakfast, and Uncle Hershal's are some faves. They do have a healthy options section in their menu also.
