Service was excellent. Our waitress was very friendly. We ordered appetizers of pepperoni rolls, and Bavarian pretzel. Our friend got the Buffalo pulled chicken sandwich. She said it was good, it wasn’t super tangy; the flavors were mellow for a Buffalo sauce. The pretzel was the best we’ve had in Charleston; soft and just a hint of sweet. The three sauces all went well - our favorite was the beer cheese. The pepperoni rolls were over hyped in our opinion. They’re not bad, but kind of bland. Not alot of flavor but plenty of cheese and pepperoni.

Came to Books and Brews this week, and had a great time. First off, the place is really clean, and has nice tables and decor. Chairs were comfortable. We got a 14 inch pizza and a large order of pepperoni rolls. Excellent food and service! My uncle got a couple of their IPA’s, and really liked them. The only drawback is that you have to pay for parking. But that is easily overlooked when the food hits the table. Highly recommend! Support our local restaurants!

Passing through this quaint town of Charleston, WV, I was intrigued to find out they serve a Vegan Burger! Tired, hungry & ready for a break on my long drive...I went in Books and Brew...and to my surprise it was more like a restaurant cafe' than a bar...Cool reads everywhere!! The Plant Based Burger & fries were Amazing & served hot...I sat at the bar to watch the US Open...best seat in the house!! Thank you Michael for suggesting the burger on the menu! Would stop in a heartbeat if ever in the neighborhood! Thanks for your time reading this post...Happy Trails...

Veggie options were pretty good, but it would be awesome if they’d look into a vegan cheese melt or vegan pepperoni roll! We loved the environment inside, the book “tree,” and kind service.

Book themed restaurant? I’m in. This place is a couple doors down from a concert venue we are visiting tonight. Cutest little place. Books everywhere. Creatively named menu items that were just delightful. The waitress (Hannah - super sweet) said her two favorite sandwiches were To Kill A Mockingbird and the Coalminer so we ordered both. The Coalminer was my favorite but my husband preferred the other. Service was exceptional. Decent beer selection. Will definitely be back.

I can't think of anything that I have experienced in coming here that is negative. From the staff to the food to the drink selection everything has been a positive experience. The location is great, the atmosphere inside is exactly what it needs to be and it's perfect, and it's so small but I can always jam out to what's on the radio. 10/10 would recommend

In this chic, hipster restaurant near downtown Charleston, I found some of the best food I've had this year. The books used as decor, which line the walls of the restaurant, fit the theme and were so inviting and nostaligic for the logophile out there. The pepperoni rolls (pictured here) lived up to the hype of "best bite in Charleston." The wait staff was friendly and gave great food and beer suggestions. The sandwich was not only massive, but warm, velvety, and tasty! It was great for a quick lunch, but I will definitely be going back for drinks on a Friday. If you're considering eating here today, DO IT. You will not be sorry.

Wow. Great environment, very friendly staff (a special shout out about Hannah's exceptional demeanor and service!) and great beer. We stopped in here after checking out some of the local murals. We only had time to grab a quick brew but would love to come back and spend some time soaking in the atmosphere. The books, the maps and the beers created a very comfortable vibe that I'm sure we'd frequent regularily if we lived a bit closer.

This is the most laid back restaurant with an AMAZING selection of gently used books. I'm not a huge fan of eating out, but this was more than dinner, it was like a mini experience. Having said that, the food was beyond words. So, you have ZERO reason not to check this place out as soon as you have the chance!!

This is a neat little place where you can get something to eat, a good cold drink, and relax, read, or just watch the TV. One thing for sure, they have THE BEST burger I have ever had. It was juicy, had good flavor, and was great with a side of fresh French fries!!! The burger was awesome. I have had burgers, but nothing this good in a very long time. I don't live in Charleston,WV, but if I did, I would definitely be going to Books and Brews for another great burger and fries meal. Check it out and you will see just how quaint and how neat this little establishment is!!! It was AWESOME!!!

I adore this place! Fun to meet up with friends for drinks and food. Must try the handmade Pepperoni Rolls, they're THE best! And get the white sangria. Hannah is the best bartender ever. Go eat there!!!!

Great presentation of the Book Burger with no bun and sub more pickles for the chips! The burger itself was a little better than Ok, it could have used more seasoning. But the way they presented it with abundant greens was great! The atmosphere is nice here and the service was great! I'll be back.

My fiance and I visited B&B when it was in St. Albans, and although I miss the relaxed vibe of a lovely cup of coffee, board games and books, the new location is just as enjoyable in a different way. We felt energized and were greeted warmly from the first step in the door. We felt especially welcomed when a lovely gentleman by the name of Danny covered our tab! All in all, 10/10 recommend this great place. Oh, and their pepperoni rolls re absolutely divine!!!

One of my favorite restaurants in Charleston, West Virginia. An Amazing selection of freshly prepared delicious food. A wonderful selection of freshly brewed coffee’s. On top of that a great selection of American and imported beers and wines. This great restaurant also occupies an amazing space. Come see the incredible restoration of the historic architecture of this beautiful Elk City building. Come enjoy the food and the wonderful ambiance of Books and Brews in Elk City.

This is a very cool place with very good food. There were three of us for lunch and all three of us really enjoyed it. The chicken wings I had were some of the best I've had in a while. Will definitely go back.

Try the pepperoni rolls. You won't be disappointed. My husband said the Reuben sandwich was one of the best he's ever had. The wings and side salad were great too. We will definitely be back.

The pepperoni rolls are amazing!!! Pretty good sized portion, so if there are two of you plan on splitting that and perhaps a sandwich or salad. The house salad is unique with diced peppers and tasty greens. The beer selection rotates, but will normally have some local brews. If they have Bad Shepard's The Loud, grab it before it's gone! !

Had excellent service here and excellent food to match. Staff was very friendly and suggested the pepperoni rolls. I ordered the Robinson crusoe which is a pulled pork pizza and was different and delicious. We plan on returning this week

Good service, good food. Warehouse atmosphere made it pretty loud. It was difficult for us to have a conversation during our meal. It seemed a little pricey for sandwiches with chips. Fries were a $2 upgrade.

The food was delicious and the beer selection decent. I don't care for stouts or IPA and this is one of the few craft beer joints locally that had something on tap I could enjoy. The pepperoni rolls were fantastic. The cuban sandwich was absolutely not a cuban, just wv pork barbeque with pickles and mustard...but it was delicious and I would eat it again.
