A wonderful eatery. The staff was friendly and welcoming. We were promptly seated and waited upon. A great selection of foods, all reasonably priced. Our meals were delicious. We plan to stop back again soon!

I had a sirloin steak and it was surprisingly good. They bring you so much food! You will not be hungry if you come here, and the prices are very low. The only negative was that they were short staffed and it took awhile to get us steak knives because they had no clean ones and she said she was going to "rinse some off" for us. That kind of grossed me out, I just imagined her taking a dirty knife and running it under the water for a sec. I'm sure she probably washed it properly... I hope.

Food was great and we had a guy waiter that was unexpected very polite well-mannered extraordinary personality we didn't get his name we caught up to him and asked what is your name he just told us that he's the Bob Evans server Texas Ranger we really nearly died laughing then he said he Roadhouse kick every lemon wedge for every sweet tea Pat Swayze Style lol. We will pay Bob Evans another visit the male server that where's the Bob Evans hat we want him to wait on us again

To start with the food was great! It seemed to me they were a little short staffed and could use some cleaning. The chairs and tables needed some work. That said, it wasn't a great experience but was okay.

Seems like pricing has gone up and portions are smaller. My son had the Great Alaskan Cod, this was really crispy and delicious. The smaller portion of turkey, at $7.98, was abundant with mash and stuffing. However, there was only a couple of slices of turkey. Although we did not leave the restaurant hungry, however, it was not satisfying.

My Own Opinion

Went to see family for lunch. Very pleasant staff but our food didn't taste hot or fresh. We had a decent sized party and they bought everyone's food out at the same time but it was still barely warm. Still, really nice time.

Food was very good and came out fairly quick. Think our waitress was new and just learning the job, but she was very accommodating about our orders. Only had a couple of waitresses on duty so the initial service was a little slow. Overall it was good but if you are in a hurry I would recommend fast food instead.

It took a few minutes before the hostess seated us and she smiled but never said one word to us which I thought was odd. But the waitress was friendly and brought everything we asked for. The appearances could use a bit of fluffing up, be a bit neater. This Bob Evans used to be the number one in the country but not anymore. The food was very good but not really hot. The menu has quite a few selections and I would definitely go back to try other things on it. I had a hard time deciding what to have. Portions were generous and the sweet tea really was sweet and delicious.

Delicious lunch of vegetable beef soup which tasted homemade and 1/2 BLT sandwich. Plenty of bacon on sandwich which had toasted bread. Waitress very good with service and friendly. Thank you Bob Evans for a great meal!

I ate here twice, dinner and breakfast. Service was friendly and personable both times. These girls are always racing around and workin' hard for the money! I was amazed they anticipated what I needed and brought it by without me ever having to ask! For dinner I liked the flavor of the dishes I ordered - vegetable beef soup and turkey dinner - but everything was cold. Like the cooks had decided to turn off the cookers, or whatever, to get a jump on leaving, My server was constantly busy and I didn't have the heart to ask for the stuff to be warmed up. For breakfast I tried the whole hog - I adore breakfast meats and here they were! All on one plate! With eggs! And a pancake! And a French toast! I've never seen that before! Is this heaven? No! It's Bob Evans! Everything was hot and I ate it all. The only thing I didn't like was the potato chunks my lack of self-control... I forgot something at dinner and was very grateful to find it at the front desk the next day. Thank you.

I ordered online, but found out after the order was placed and picking up that they were out of couple things i ordered. Instead of asking me what i wanted in its place, they threw something in place of it in. I ordered cub side, the lady was very nice. Food tasted good. Fruit was fresh.

It's just like every other Bob Evans out there. Decent food. Decent service. Just be sure to tip in cash. Bob Evans holds server tips til payday and likely make interest off of all the tips of servers nationwide before giving them their money. One of the only restaurants I've ever heard of that forces servers to wait to payday to get tips and their underpaid 2.13 an hour. Crazy.

Perfect meal. Excellent waitress. Manager is one of those old school professionals. You know the type, a mother, grand mother, CEO all wrapped into one with an eye on every customer making sure everything runs as smoothly as if it was at her kitchen table. Cooks that prepare the meals properly. It takes as long as it takes. There is no sloppy meals here thrown together and customers pushed through the door. This location not only brings back the memories of childhood dining out with the folks, this location creates the memories the grand babies will remember for decades to come. That is how restaurants stay in business. When famlies order meals, serve them memories to go. Excellent experience and thank you!

Hot weather just isn't the time to eat a big bowl of spicy, hot chili with a big mug of steaming hot coffee/cocoa. Now that it's getting to be "Salad Season" (aka Summertime) the hotter the outdoor temps, the more I want to eat cooler foods. You know...like a half gallon of ice cream/sherbet or a dozen Popsicles with a tall glass of iced tea! ANYTHING that I don't have to turn on the stove & cook! Fortunately Bob Evans Restaurant (in Kanawha City) is a good solution. Easy to find right off the interstate, with plenty of parking & reasonable prices, & like so many other restaurants BER has revamped their menu in the past year or so. You can get everything from great breakfasts (++Western omelets) to various lunch & dinner choices & serving sizes are good. There's also a budget priced (under $8.) menu section with slightly smaller portions but still plenty of food for smaller appetites. Some new menu items include a selection of various beers & wines, about 4-5 flavors of iced teas, & a chocolate/mocha/caramel coffee that's great for dessert. Personally, I like munching salad but I hate all the extra prep (washing, chopping, dicing, etc) required every time I want something healthy & cooler for dinner. This time of year is when BER really does the best salad entrees...fresh, crisp, plenty of "extras", a good variety of salad dressings... i.e. not just a big bowl of lettuce. I definitely recommend one of the chicken combo salads like the strawberries & poppy seed dressing, or the summer berries, or the cranberry/pecan version. But if you like your salad a little spicier try the "Wildfire Chicken Salad". The restaurant's decor isn't fancy or "exotic" which just means it's a simple, relaxed family friendly place. But we go there for the food & the convenience, not for the decor & atmosphere. It can be busy especially on Sundays when the "church crowd" is there, or certain holidays. We were there on a Thursday (about 5:30-ish to 7:30p) dining & talking with friends in a smaller practically private, side dining room. BTW...our waiter, Daniel, was super friendly, organized, prompt, & efficient. He was very knowledgeable of the menu, communicated clearly, & was very professional...more like a waiter in a fine dining restaurant than a family restaurant. Daniel made us feel like we were his most important customers. Frankly, that's a very refreshing change from so many other restaurants' wait-staff...many of whom are inattentive, disorganized, surly & sometimes just downright rude. Yet another thing we can thank Covid for! We definitely plan on returning to Bob Evans Restaurant thanks to Daniel's amazing customer service & hopefully Daniel will be our waiter again!

It’s been a long time since visiting Bob Evans. Food has really went down hill. Fire Chicken salad was dry and “chicken” chunks were just VERY crunchy breading; chicken dinner was overcooked and extremely dry; and egg and chicken dinner had snotty whites of eggs and chicken (We think it was chicken) was awful tasting. The only reason we gave the place 3 stars was because the staff was awesome. They were very kind and friendly!

Never ate at a Bob Evans before. First time. The restaurant is very clean, the staff there are very down-home and friendly. I got seated within, well, less than two minutes after I walked in the door. The waiter came over almost immediately thereafter and asked what I wanted to drink and give me a couple minutes to look over the menu. It's a nice variety of entrees, and they do serve breakfast all day here. Which I appreciate. The place was very busy, and the staff was hustling and bustling for all the tables. Even the manager was in the trenches. Overall, I had a very nice dining experience, and the prices are well within a decent range, similar to other restaurant chains. I do recommend stopping if you're passing through. I truly believe you will not regret it.

Bob Evans, like all food places, are short of help so you may have a wait. Our servers were great. The french toast was good. The fried cod was not too great. what happen to Salmon? Also, what became of the rolls and banana bread with the meal?

Well lets start with the fact that as soon as I stepped out of the car I was hit up for money by two shady looking characters. Get inside and had to track down the hostess in order to be seated. Waited about 10 minutes for the waitress. They were out of hot chocolate, the orange juice was watered down to the point of being orange flavored water, no creme for the coffee only milk...and we haven't even gotten to the food yet. Oh boy...

First time at a Bob Evans. It was kinda what I expected. Breakfast food all day with a mix of basic southern comfort food. The staff was super nice, food was good. Food came out if the kitchen fairly quickly. A it was dinner the biscuits were not as fresh as would be first thing in the morning, but was still good. RR's were ok. So would I go back again? Yes I would. As large as the chain is I'm sure we will find an other one to visit. Prices were reasonable.

The wait was short. Wait staff was ok. Burger was served and it was already cool, and the cheese hadn't even melted. It also wasn't an intact cheese slice, but a bunch of "crumbles" which might not have been apparent if the burger had been hot. But everything was great with my 8 yo son's meal so it was easy for me to tolerate the shortcomings on my plate.

Excellent customer service. My girlfriend and I went to brunch on a busy Sunday, and we were pleasantly surprised by how well we were treated. The manager, who sat out front greeting customers and keeping tabs on seating, took time away from his tasks just to keep all of us customers in the loop on the wait and optional seating. He then seated us, and went out of his way to wipe the table down, make sure we had creamers for our coffee, and continued to be polite and respectful. Every restaurant is capable of making mistakes, we are all human. But when you get treated this well it makes a huge difference on whether you come back or not. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good eating experience!

This location is in a great spot for the weary traveler. The inside appeared well kept and nice. Unfortunately the staff was not the most attentive even though there were very few customers. It took an exceptionally long time to get our food and when it came out it was only a partial order. They wanted us to eat what they had ready and wait for the rest. So we had to adjust our order so we could eat warm food together. The food that we did eat was fairly decent. I might give this location another visit on my next trip.

Online ordering was so easy, parking for pick up right by the door. Went to pick up dinner and the restaurant need got my order and didn't seem to care If I ordered 45 minutes before and was our dinner. She never offered to make order then nor did she ask if I wanted to place order for later, just said no orders for pick up She was more worried about her cell phone or her smoke break so we left and didn't order anything.

As far as the service, and the food, both were good, not great, but not bad either. I went to the restroom, right before leaving, which left me feeling disappointed with the staff on its upkeep. Both paper towel rollers were empty, the soap dispenser was clogged, so I barely got any soap. With COVID-19 concerns presently, the restroom should have plenty of supplies for hand washing. The parking lot had quite a bit of litter, easily noticed upon arrival, but not all of this can be blamed on the staff, because this immediate area has seen an up tick in vagrancy activity over the past few years, another thorn in the community's side, due to the Opioid epidemic. Overall, always been a fan of Bob Evans, but this particular visit was just okay, sadly.

I never take the time to review restaurants, especially not a common chain restaurant like Bob Evans, but I was so blown away by their service and clean facilities I had to. We stopped on our way home from the North Carolina coast, and after multiple truck stops and fast food pit stops this place is exactly what we needed. Clean bathrooms, our server was honestly the friendliest and most attentive server I can remember. Thanks Bob's, you've made a regular out of us. We'll be stopping every year on our way home from the beach, and will look forward to it!

I know when I went and ate here the last time it was a whole back and it is not a place that we would frequent. But the server was excellent even though I was being a very difficult customer. I ordered a steak in a home old country fashion cooking lol it wasn't her fault it was my fault for ordering the steak great service and great food. Amazing saldas and dessert. And if you are in a rush during the holidays then they have family meals for a really good price and it is amazing!

Service was slow but friendly. We visited during a week day and it wasnt busy but you would have thought the place was packed, we only saw our server 3 times. The food took over an hour to get which was all breakfast items. I would say 99% of the time it should have taken half that time. This normally wouldn't bother me but we were traveling for vacation and it just seemed to drag out what should have been a quick breakfast on our way to our destination. I also like to see the server pretty often to check on things like refills and to offer an update if the food is taking longer than normal. I like Bob Evan's but it shouldnt take almost an hour for food to come out once its ordered. This might be isolated but it's worth noting for future visitors.

Food was good except the cold fries. The worse part was the staff. When we 1st sat down thought maybe we walked in, on tail end of them being slammed. Tables were dirty every where, and people running around. But after sitting a. while with place only half full. It was just how this place was beening run. Everyone running around like a chicken with its head cut off not getting much done. Don't get me wrong everyone there was very friendly, just don't think they know to work as team in the reastaunt world. Which causes long wait times for anything Luke warm to cold food. Ordered the chop steak off the menu, got back to my motel(walking in the rain) they had given me “meatloaf” witch was more like some not meat product! Disgusting, Editing my review, Went back today, 9/14/20) and explained to the manager what happened yesterday, He made it right! No wait. Only breakfast served all day. I don't like breakfast but the sausage gravy was good with white bread. Chicken fried breakfast was also good according to my boyfriend.

Unfortunately we visited on a Sunday after church services let out, so we hit the rush hour of diners. The hostess mentioned that a number of workers called off that day which was too bad because everyone else was very accommodating despite some overly pushy patrons. As you'd expect with an understaffed day, the dining room was a bit dirty from last meals, but nothing that make you walk out. Beyond all this it's your typical Bob Evans. They just had a bad day!

Next time sit at the counter I went to Bob Evans at 101 Alex Lane Kanawha City (Charleston WV) on Friday evening for dinner. They were busy, so I thought that because I was alone I would sit at the counter. I think everyone should sit there to see what it is all about. Man those servers were going so fast. I would not want their job. They were going in all directions. What an organized staff. A Server’s job is hard work, which leads me to this. You should always leave a good tip. These servers work hard and depend on your tips. Some may not agree with this next statement, but if you can’t afford at least a 20% tip you shouldn’t go out to dinner. You need to thank your server for doing a good job. I know you may have a time that you are in a hurry and your food may take a little longer than you want. There may be something going on in the kitchen that the server cannot control. I am not putting blame on the kitchen or the server just saying at times it is not anyone’s fault. I am getting off subject. I was so impressed with all the servers and kitchen staff. So I think everyone needs to sit at the counter to see what goes on. You will be amazed.

Wonderful place to start the day with a wide variety of breakfast choices from sunny side up eggs, hotcakes, mush/ grits to oatmel & fruit. Wide variety of pricing as well. Lunch deals start at $6 including a Double Cheeseburger with Fries combo. Dinner meals include a $9.99 Three-Course Steak dinner with an ice cream sundae for the dessert. I enjoyed the Belgian Waffle with Blueberry Topping along with a Caramel Cappucino and thought it was wonderful, especially on a cold morning.

So the only reason I'm going to rate this a 3 is because our server was really nice but I had a party of five we waited close to an hour for food it was a Thursday night so it wasn't super busy I asked the waitress for fresh fruit I got imitation blueberries on my french toast my eggs I requested to have cheese it was some imitation sliced cheese that wouldn't even melt and was so disgusting she did have them remake them but by that time the rest of my meal was gone used to really good service here but this night it just wasn't we also had to rob tables near us for cream and sugar worsr of all this was my mother's birthday dinner.
