Barkadas is a nice little restaurant with a very cool atmosphere, relaxed setting, and beautiful bar. We ordered take out using their online ordering site, and the process was pretty seamless. The service allows you to customize pretty much anything on your order to make it just how you like it. We got their cheesesteak sandwiches today, and the flavor of the meat was excellent, very cheesy, and the toasted bread added a great texture. As side orders, we got the Hawaiian fries and sweet chili wings. The fries had tons of flavors, with grilled spam, tomatoes, cheese and sauce. The wings were perfectly cooked and the sauce was an excellent compliment. Definitely give Barkadas a try, you're sure to find something there that you'll enjoy. Their flavor fusions are excellent.

My family and I have dined in and gotten take out from Barkadas and have enjoyed everything we've eaten. Appetizers, sandwiches, desserts and beef/noodle bowls have all been delicious. The restaurant itself has a clean and open look and staff were very friendly and quick with their service when we visited. The Filipino inspired cuisine is great when you're looking for something different and the sandwiches and appetizers offer a great option for those looking for more traditional items like burgers or cheese steaks. I would highly recommend!

Barkadas is a great restaurant in Charleston, WV. They're located on Cantley Drive, right beside the Domino's Pizza. The restaurant is just a short drive away from areas like Southridge, South Hills, downtown Charleston, and Charleston's West Side. They don't have a huge footprint, but there is a decent-sized indoor dining room and some outdoor seating. As their website says, their food is a blend of American and Filipino flavors. I've tried many of their menu items, including: the crispy shrimp bao buns, pickle-brined chicken sandwich, Fili steak sandwich, Ahi tuna bowl, crispy spam burrito, and veggie spring rolls. I haven't had a bad thing off of their menu and highly recommend that people try them - especially for brunch!

Great little spot I tried. The environment and atmosphere were great and cozy. Unfortunately the chicken adobo was very dry then what but all other items were fresh like the lumpia. I decided to try their expresso tiny since lately I am a big fan of those but this was very much a disappointment, way to icy so the consistency and ratio was not good. Service was great and truly amazing for being quiet understaffed.

We enjoyed the delicious tasting food. My wife is Filipino and she approves of the food here. I had the chicken adobo burrito which was great and my wife had a pork belly bowl (I forgot the name of the exact dish). Both had loads of Filipino flavors, the food was fresh and the staff were extremely friendly. The ambience is a sports bar (tvs on the wall and a bar on one side) and was clean and welcoming. We don't drink but they had a large selection of wines, beer, etc. I recommend this restaurant, come taste the flavors of the Philippines.

I'm obsessed with the shrimp bao buns! I've had a variety of their dishes and love the crispy avocado bowl 🥑 they were out and my server highly recommended the ahi tuna bowl which was fabulous.

This place is super clean and has an upscale feel to it. I also love the unique menu items they offer. The biggest disappointment was the value. I had the Chicken Karaage and some bao buns, and it was all a bit on the bland side. But there just wasn't much to it. We were still really hungry after eating here, so we stopped at grocery store on the way home and picked up a second dinner. I'd say this is the perfect place to take a date if you want to show them you have more refined tastes, but don't want to feel full and gassy afterwards.

Adding Barkadas to our required dinner spots when visiting Charleston. We had a fantastic dinner here last night, sampling a few appetizers and bao buns. I had the Chicken Karaage buns, and gochujang aioli was a perfect flavor with the right amount of heat to the perfectly crispy chicken. The lumpia was great, and the flip bar fries were amazing. They have a great wine list and plenty of drink selections.

Just discovered this place in Charleston and was pleasantly surprised. The location is good, I got takeout and didn’t dine in but the place looked clean and nice on the inside. The food was good though a little under seasoned for my taste but still a nice experience. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was the service, I was on the phone for less than 2 min to make my order and that ruined my whole experience the lady on the phone was very rude she didn’t answer any of questions. So it would probably be better to order online to avoid talking to her. I really hope they work more on their customer service.

We have travelled extensively and eaten at hundreds and hundreds of varied restaurants. We just don't get it, with what our experience was today. Parking good. It was busy but got seated right away. Atmosphere is like a brew pub. To start, service was friendly but slow throughout the visit. And, I mean Slooooow. It took forever to get our drinks. Then forever to get our food. And, after ordering another club soda and Mimosa, the waiter brought us a Bloody Mary after being told "no more Bloody Mary's" (the original one was waaaay toooo hot!), and to please duplicate her two drinks. Well, they did not show until the food was almost eaten and then only the Mimosa. When we asked for the check and please forget the club soda, he brought the check and then the club soda as we're getting wrapped up to leave. As far as the food.....we ordered the Bao Buns with Glazed Pork. Fair to good. Not spectacular or even excellent. There was very little on one bun and taste was just "good". Next we each had a burrito. Mine was with pork belly and I expected it to come out with some rice even though it didn't state it on the menu. It also contained peanuts (not mentioned) but it was mostly rice and little else. Taste: "Eh". She had a Crispy avocado burrito with pickled onions and cabbage. Nothing about rice on the menu. It was mostly a white rice burrito. Not even tasty and so filled with rice, she left half untouched and the other half she ate some after scraping out the rice onto her plate. Please look at the pictures and you can see the "rice burritos". Overall, the experience was not a good one. The poor, slow service, along with not very good tasting food, and having to eat with nothing to wash it down, just doesn't cut the mustard. It's rare that we won't give a second chance to a restaurant. This time we both decided once was enough. By the way: I'm from Florida, not Charleston if that matters to anyone. You decide.

This is one of the most relaxing restaurants I have ever been to. The food is so flavourful with so many unique options, the service was phenomenal and attentive, and the atmosphere is so cozy, especially on a cold day. I will DEFINITELY be back as soon as I am back in town!

Would give 100 stars if I could! We ordered takeout tonight and it was outstanding. The food was still hot when we picked it up and as good as eating in. We got a BYO burger with fancy sauce, pork belly, and cheddar and it was divine. We also got the pork belly bowl which had the most delicious rice and pork belly I've ever had. The fries were also impressively good and they have good ranch if you're into ranch. We're not from Charleston, but will definitely be stopping by again if we're passing through the town!

What a quaint, little vibe hidden just off 119! The atmosphere was cozy and hip. Loved the variety of fresh, unique options. We tried the lumpia, rice bowls, and salad! With so many tasty options, you really can't go wrong. Oh and be sure to try one of their seasonal cocktails!

My Dad and I visit here today and it's easily the best place I've been since I moved to the area. The food was great. We had lumpia, Adoba and pork belly bowls, and the blondie for desert. Everything was delicious. They have great beer on tap, including from local breweries. Also, I wanted to shout out our server, Dejan, she was absolutely great!

I just received my order from doordash and they forgot the cheese on the Philly??? Lol and there's only one piece of shrimp on the bao bun. The vegetable lumpias are really good. Overall really disappointed and like what the heck?

We can’t say enough about how great this place is! We are traveling through this beautiful city of Charleston and we’re so glad we decided on Barkadas for dinner. Not only were the food, service, and drinks amazing but we met Howard, who took hospitality to the next level. We visit Charleston from Detroit about five times a year (we have family here). We always go to Barkadas when we’re in town. We just had an amazing lunch there today. Mark, our server, was absolutely fantastic. He was the ONLY FOH person on staff/on the floor. He took ALL tables, was the bartender, and took & organized all takeout. He did EVERYTHING with a smile on his face, and his personality was infectious. We had talked this place up to my parents, and they thoroughly enjoyed it as well. Food was excellent as always, and the service was excellent! We shall see you in the Spring 😃

We absolutely love Barkadas and their brunch is outstanding. I tried something new today (the chicken and waffle), off the brunch menu, and it not disappoint (though I stand behind my all time fav Shrimp and Grits). The hubby had the loaded Blood Mary and he loved it as usually. Barkadas is just a wonderful, easy going establishment that keeps you coming back for their amazing food!

Went for lunch this week after a year and remembered why it was a year. Had the Ahi tuna bowl and the tuna was gamey and the noodles were so salty , we couldn't eat them. Had the fili cheesesteak and same thing, the sauce on the beef was so salty, ruined the sandwich. The Veggie spring rolls were good. Server was great. I want to love this place, but they gotta cut the salt

Wow what a great experience! Darius was an incredible server and was truly on point! The atmosphere is contemporary and clean with agreeable and upbeat music. Nice place to go on a date! Very good drinks and let’s talk about the food! I was not prepared for how good the food was going to be! The nachos were incredible and the Fili Cheese Steak is a must have! On top of it all, reasonably priced?! I am from Pittsburgh and I wish I lived closer but will definitely be stopping on my way to Hatfield every time from here on out!

This is definitely the place to stop if you're looking for great food, drinks and an all around food environment! Darius is a great server/bartender! The food was outstanding! I picked a burger with 2 patties and pork belly and it was the best burger I have had! This will be a necessary stop for me again in the future!

We live on Fort Hill and had always needed to go downtown for some better dining versus corridor G franchises - and these guys fit the bill. The food is excellent and the staff are great too. It has been more than 20 years since I had lumpia. Baos were good definitely preferred the pork. The adobe chicken bowl was amazing, great flavor. The only thing wrong with the place is the location. it is about 5 hours to far southeast of north central Indiana.

Reason I’m messaging you is because I want to praise one of your employees. People are quick to point out the bad in people, but I believe in letting folks know when I have a great experience. Jim and I ordered from Barkadas on Saturday night. From the moment this young man took our order to picking it up, he gave nothing but excellent service. Darius has great phone skills and in person communication skills. I sat at the bar and had a glass of wine while I waited on our order. He is very polite and personable. I’m sure he has regular customers, he now has another regular. Great hire!

We stopped by at lunchtime (for takeout) because their phone wasn't working. To our surprise, they were open for inside table service. We were seated immediately and ordered our lunch. Regulations mandate all containers be disposable including silverware. Service was good. Food was good. So, give 'em a try. They're working hard to earn your business.

Such an amazing meal! We stop by Charleston on a road trip down south and stopped by Barkadas. We’re from Manhattan and we used to having access to good food. I’d not be lying if I said that if this restaurant were in NYC, it would be one of our regulars. Loved everything we ordered. The bao buns and the bowls (served over noodles) are to die for! We stopped here on the way home to NC, and we are so glad we did. Ashley was our server and she was incredibly kind and helpful with navigating the menu. We ordered the pork spring rolls and they came out crispy, and full of flavor. I ordered the pork belly bao buns, and the crispy avocado bao buns. They were both phenomenal, melt in your mouth goodness. My boyfriend ordered the pork belly over pancit noodles and he finished the whole bowl. Ashley recommended the bread pudding and we decided to get it, due to how delicious the rest of the food was, and it did not let us down. It was drizzled with this yummy whiskey mango sauce and was just an absolute perfect way to end the night. I wish we lived closer so we could come back.

Eclectic menu and very good. We got takeout from here. I had a chicken adobo bowl on noodles. I was impressed. The chicken was moist and well done the avocado was fresh and the pickled onions where good. Great restaurant. My advise to mgmt is to salt the fries a bit more. But i guess that is more a preferance thing.

Delicious lumpia(Filipino spring rolls), bao not so good(pickled vegetables unballenced/ too acidic). In contrast, the braised pork belly is well balanced, & skillfully prepared. The pickle brined chicken sandwich is fried to perfection. Don't let the curbside view detour you, the ambience inside is cozy in a rustic industrial southern chic design. Reminds me of a hip micro-brewery. Large selection of beer & wine. Friendly staff!Highly recommend!!!

We really enjoyed our lunch at Barkadas and can highly recommend this somewhat unusual restaurant. If you go, be sure to take a look at the magnificent Walnut bar top; at which time you may notice that the bar has a nice supply of top shelf liquor and a well stocked walk-in wine cooler.

Bao buns were 👍👍👍 But if you think this place is a filipino restaurant, you’re wrong. 🤣 ( I thought it was too so… ) Went in there and it was actually more of a bar than a restaurant. The place is nice though. But I hope someday they will widen their menu with real Filipino cuisine. It’ll be a hit for sure 😇
