Such good food and atmosphere! Right on the corner with big windows great for people watching. The salmon caesar salad was so yummy along with the mussels, sauce amazing! Friends enjoyed their meals as well as pictured. Drinks were well. Definitely on my list for when I’m back in town!

Amazing food, great atmosphere.
We had a dinner special crab rolled in a fish with couscous that was completely amazing, the kids got fresh made linguine with cheese. No doubt we will be back again.
Thank you!

Overall a fantastic place to eat in Burlington, I had the gryphon burger and the vineyard chowder. First off let me say that the vineyard chowder (a chunky seafood chowder) was the best I ever had. Not too heavy and LOADED with clam, scallops, and crab. Excellent. Next the burger was also great, cooked right and the pickled onions really added to it.
The only thing I was disappointed with here were the cocktails, I tried a few of them and they were very weak and watered down. I should have probably went with ales at an ale house but whatever
I would 100% recommend this place

Excellent Food and atmosphere. I would definitely eat here again. The seafood chowder was amazing and my son enjoyed the bean soup. My guys had burgers and said they were very good. I had the Sesame Chicken Salad and it was awesome!

This turned out to be a really great experience!
We tried a couple other places in town, but the wait was quite long. The Gryphon was able to get us in with a super minimal wait!
We were greeted promptly and informed that the service might be slower due to minimal staff. Which looking around, everyone seemed to be enjoying their food so it’s likely worth it.
NAILED IT!!!!!
We opted for the Sesame Tuna and Duck Quesadillas to start. Well, that was also an EXCELLENT decision as they were both extraordinary!!!
For the main dish I had the Roasted Beets Salad with Chicken. This is kinda a go to for me, and this was in the top two I’ve ever had!!! Was it #1!?!?!? The VT goat cheese on the salad was top notch as well!
Our server was Cora, and she absolutely knocked it out of the park!!! The place was packed and she did a fantastic job of juggling the entire restaurant with her sidekick!
You seriously need to check out the Gryphon! We could all use a little more patience in life, and I’m more than happy to apply it for mouth watering food!
Great job Gryphon and Cora! We thank you!

Wonderful seafood chowder. Huge portions. Started with vineyard chowder, which was stellar. Then had the duck quesadilla and sweet potato nachos. The duck quesadilla was great, and the nachos were interesting (I am too used to corn chips, so found the texture odd) and different (not in a bad way, just not in a nachos way). For mains we had the Gryphon Burger and the Petit Fillet (both were good, but brussel sprouts should never be the chef's choice vegetables). Finally ended with sundaes which were fine but nothing special.
Overall a very good meal, though the bill coming with 20, 21, and 22% tip options was off putting, especially since Vermont is sensible enough not to have the terrible federally mandated $2.13 an hour wage (if you want to list tip options, at least stick with the more traditional 10, 15, 20%).

Been here 5 times now pre and post pandemic and I've had a great experience throughout. They have a bustling atmosphere with beautiful decor and ambiance. First time we stopped in before dinner reservations somewhere else and the bar scene was so lively and drinks tasty we wished we'd stayed for dinner. Obviously it's more sedate now but they're good about allowing only customers they can handle and they were one of the only places open Christmas Eve. Food has always been solid and drinks very good. I like this place. Location can't be beat. They're doing it right amidst it all and we plan on making the Gryphon a regular haunt ief ours.

Stumbled in for brunch, hungover on a quick overnight with my husband. Love the decor... Super elegant without pretention. The bartender was great. We had the seafood grits, french onion soup and the schnitzel sandwich... It was EXACTLY what we needed. One or my favorite meals that we've had in a while. We'll definitely make a point of coming back next time we're in the area!

This place should be busier than it is. On the second most visible corner in Burlington, a charming building, plenty of parking within a block unless there is some big event at the Flynn, and every time we come here we are impressed and tell ourselves to go more often.
We went for our Anniversary dinner the other night and had a delightful dinner. We started with Perfect Manhattans, made well except the glass was not pre-chilled, so the drink was served warmer than ideal, but still better than most places. Made with Bulleit Rye and Dolin for both the sweet and dry Vermouths.
For Apps we had the Sesame tuna and the cheese plate. The tuna was perfectly seared and encrusted with toasty sesame and pepper. Excellent. And the cheese selection was superb, with a variety of textures and complementary flavors.
She had the grits entree with shrimp and I had the duck quesadilla, and we shared the sesame ginger chicken salad. Delicious all around. We had a Malbec and Pinot Noir by the glass that went well with our dinner.
The only disappointment was the tiramisu. It was not a good representation of this dessert, lacking in the layers and rich flavor qualities that should be present if you are going to offer this on the menu.
Highly recommend the Gryphon. Nice people, beautiful space, and for reasons I don’t quite understand, not as busy as it should be. It maybe because they require a cc to make a reservation, and that is scaring people away? This is a well run place, with good foods, drink and service in a charming atmosphere.

The Gryphon burger and the Duck quesadilla were both creative, flavorful and overall delish! I opted for the dressed greens over the fries with my burger, and received a pile of lettuce dripping in dressing. Way overdressed, borderline inedible. That is my only critique however- The drinks were good, and the general atmosphere was so cool. Absolutely go here for a cozy and rustic dining experience!
