Reviews of The Farmhouse Tap & Grill
David Klauder Jr
Our waitress, Michelle, was the most chill waitress we ever met. She made us feel like we were at home eating dinner! She was an awesome person!
As for the cuisine, it was excellent. The cod and the brisket were delicious. My wife said the spaghetti squash was a little too spicy but she said the Cheddar Ale Soup was very good. I enjoyed my hot apple cider and the blue cheese garlic bread. My apple pie alamode was tasty but if the pie was heated up it would have been perfect!
Bryan Milne
Amazing Burger! Great salad with very tasty seasoned toasted pepitas and roasted beets! Delicious fish and chips, though we substituted the chips for the deeply comforting buttermilk mashed potatoes. Drinks were also great and fairly priced. Huge kudos for having Hills Farmstead 'Edward' on tap, truly irresistible!
Great Service! Highly recommend! Worth every penny!

A truly fun place to hang out with friends and family. The place was fairly crowded on a Saturday afternoon but we managed to get a table within a couple of minutes. We had a Breakfast Special comprising of scrambled eggs with cheese, hash browns and arugula salad in a vinegar dressing. We opted out on the bacon and they threw in an extra hash brown instead. It was accompanied with toasted red hen bread with lots of butter on the side. We also had a roasted squash sandwich and a bean burger with a side of fries. The crispy onion rings were also quite delectable. We washed it down with a pint of Queen City Hefeweizen draught beer. The grand finale was an Apple Pie with Ice Cream. Truly a highly satisfying meal indeed

I love the burger I had and so did the person that was with me. It was perfect size and one of the most tasteful burgers I ever had. I hate sauces but they have their own production ones that are so good and it is worth a try. The quality of the ingredients it is outstanding and it was worth the 30min wait.

Food is good. Burger is the only vegetarian option. It took long time to get the orders but food was good. Onion rings were better than a lot many other places. Corn bread was really good with special butter. Would recommend to try corn bread for sure.

Very cool space and awesome beer list. They had Hill Farmstead on tap which I had been wanting to try and was not disappointed. We sat in the beer garden area out back, which was quiet because it had just opened. I could imagine it being a fun place to spend an evening.

Loved this place! Wonderful offerings for the wandering foodie! Ate at the bar with my husband on a whim. Bartenders were attentive an made appropriate suggestions. Food was elevated yet comforting... Beef tartar, schnitzel, spätzel... All legit. Very nice wine and whiskey selection! We'll be back next time we're in the area!!

Quinn was very helpful and patient in answering my questions! I appreciate that they seem to source ingredients locally. While there aren't specific vegan items, it was easy for my requests to be accommodated. Both the tofu sandwich and salad had great flavors with a variety of fresh ingredients.

Good food and cute atmosphere. Good selection of local ciders and food sourced locally. A little on the expensive side and no refill even on tap sodas and lemonade. We had the cheese tray, the pork shoulder, and apple pie. All very tasty. Gets full quick. We were there at 345 and there was already a line forming.
Noah Gootkind
I got the lamb burger and the beet salad with feta. Both were very good, fresh, and generously portioned. The beet salad is excellent! Vibrant with tangy feta and salty pistachios. The lamb burger was good as well. Very good bun, and cooked perfectly. Overall solid food, and i doubt youd be disappointed by anything on the menu... i still dont understand the hype around the farmhouse however. Its good fresh local food, but theres certainly better options in burlington. Especially at that price point
Sam Armstrong
Dined here as a recommendation. The food was good . The service was really good. I set at the bar and had an old fashion. The bartendar did a really good job. I had the schnitzel, cabbage, and kale. Overall it was filling and good. Great atmosphere
Carl Watkins
I've only eaten here twice but I've had an amazing experience both times. Great servers, knowledgeable hosts, and accommodating management, this place will definitely be my go to place for lunch. Great location downtown right by my office.
Jeffrey Ly
Great vibe and atmosphere. Food took a little longer to come out but it was a busy evening. Great selection of drinks.
Larry Anderson
This restaurant came highly recommended and had been very busy when we had previously passed by. We arrived at about 1630 and were seated right away. The bacon Angus burger was rather tasteless or plain at best. Considering the cost I'm not sure I would return again.
Frances Borowsky
Delicious burger and beer! We sat outside in the back, where orders are made and paid for online. It worked out well and was very enjoyable. Just note that you'll probably have to ask for water!
Constantinos Mitoulis
Make a reservation for Farmhouse and they were actually able to seat us sooner than our reservation which was much appreciated. Safe outdoor dining experience where tables are adequately spaced. Started with the blue cheese toast (would highly recommend) and we split the steak frites. The steak was cooked exactly as requested. Pretty cool that all of the condiments are homemade. A nice touch. Service was excellent as well (thanks Sage!).

Wow, it was hard to choose what to eat! I didn't where to start. Both indoor and out seating. Service was quick. Several drinks options too. I got the VT Heritage Grazers Pork $18.

Great location right off the Church street. I ordered the pan fried flounder is delicious. But my husband ordered the pork shoulder doesn’t good. Didn’t have much of BBQ taste. He need added a lot of ketchup. The server was very nice except the host not good. I received the message for my table is ready. But she still told me stand on the side for 5-10 minutes. But let few couples behind us have a table. They really need more help!
Anthony Purcell
Food was delicious and we were seated quickly as we arrived just at the right time. When we left there was a long line out the door.
Ordered a burger which was cooked exactly as I wanted it and had extra Cabot cheddar added to it. Couldn't ask for anything better. Will certainly go back there again. Just make sure you find parking as it is a little tight in the area but it is worth walking after blocks away if you need to.
Service was good well throughout the time we were there and couldn't ask for anything better.
This was just for lunch. Can't wait to go back and check out the dinner menu!
Well worth it

So this is a really cool place with delicious food and drinks. We got the cheese board to start with and it had a terrific selection of Vermont cheese that were quite tasty. They had a very good old fashioned as well. I really wanted to like the schnitzel, but it really didn't meet my expectations. The breading wasn't fluffy, it's almost like they didn't use an egg wash, but maybe there was another reason; the schnitzel also tasted like it was cut thin instead of pounded out with a tenderize. Perhaps my most pretentious review but I've been making pork schnitzel since I was like 5, so I certainly have particular schnitzel preferences. The spaetzle was also really mushy. I used to a slightly firmer spaetzle, but it was not terrible. The cabbage was by far the highlight of the plate, but that isn't a bad thing. I wish I had gotten more of that cabbage, it was fantastic. I highly recommend this location if you're in the area. The schnitzel want for me, but it may be better for yall :)

Rehearsal dinner for our son's wedding. We are not only out of towners, but out of staters. We couldn't have gotten any luckier in finding this spot. It was perfect from start to finish, and everyone was so pleasant. Thanks for a memorable evening, with memories to last a lifetime.
Matthew Higgins
Awesome place. The bar tender was on point, the food was great and the food came out quick. I like how it was not too noisy.
Nicole Francis
We had a reservation on Friday night and were able to sit outside. The beer menu was great (Hill Farmstead on draft) and there was a large variety on the food menu. We shared a cheese plate and I had a BLT that was on the specials menu and came with a side salad with beets. Service was excellent and we really enjoyed our meal.

We really love this spot! Been coming here for years and this was our first time back since Covid. This time we were 4 adults and 4 kids, we had a great table and everyone was loving their food. All the adults had the burger, some onion rings/salad… all excellent! The vibe is always nice, the beer options are great and the quality of the food is always good.
Julia E
Food was delicious, service was outstanding, everything was clean and well organized. No complaints!
Michael Palotta
Stopped in for lunch it was very busy but found seats at the bar. Bartender very friendly and helpful with food and beer selections. I had the lamb burger and my wife had the Quinoa cakes both were excellent and with his beer choices. Very well staffed like a well oiled machine food arrived very quickly.
Rock Star Today Podcast
Great little place with outstanding service by Michelle.
The wings hit the spot and the Sip of Sunshine was heavenly.
The A/C was refreshing on a hot day.
Rajeev Davé
The farmhouse has an earned reputation as a diner hot spot in downtown Burlington. The lively indoor-outdoor setup was jam-packed on a weekday evening in September.
A well-executed, modern cuisine showcasing local produce is a point of pride, and deservedly so.
Recommended.

This is one of my favorites in Burlington, I've never had anything less than an exceptionally pleasant experience. The food is always very well prepared, props to the chef. A good balance of mostly locally sourced and healthy options on the menu. The service is professional, and friendly. Noelle and Sarah were our servers recently and they were patient and just great sports despite the challenges they faced with our messy loud table, thank you guys, it was appreciated.
Allison J
Was honestly pleasantly surprised by this! I ordered the chick pea burger over greens (didn't want all the bun bread) and fries. The burger was actually pretty tasty and the greens is was over were small in amount, but big in flavor. One of my friends got the steamers and said they were delicious.
Nicole Maher
Delicious food. Everything was beautifully prepared, and the staff was accommodating. We didn't wait long for food at all. Drinks were strong and yummy.
Jacob Milam
Loved our experience here we had a great server who was on top of it and very friendly. They had their draft system down while we were there but it was okay as they had an extensive selection of canned beers. The food was all great as well. We felt like prices were pretty great for what you get.
Steve
Great experience and a really good beer burger. Friendly service and a good vibe. Lots of options to eat and the fries are delicious. 🍔
Matt T
Our family has eaten here several times now (almost every time we visit VT) and it has always been top notch for us. This last visit I ordered steak tartare as a starter and the roasted chicken and biscuits for an entree. Both were perfect. Great to have Hill Farmstead Edward on draft! Everyone in our party enjoyed the starters/entrees as well. Extensive list of beers (draft, cans/bottles) and fine spirits. Can't wait for our next trip to VT...
Lena6
Visiting from France. Burgers were great, service was good, people really nice! Service/ placement of tables was chaotic though, we booked a table and came back 1h later like asked after receiving a message our table was ready, but then they couldn't find our reservation. Lots of people waiting with many tables available, super strange system! But overall great cuisine
Jill M
I was visiting Burlington for a few days and decided to pop over to The Farmhouse Tap & Grill based on all their positive reviews (and the fact that they had outdoor seating on a sunny, cold day). They did not disappoint! I had the delicious cheddar ale soup followed by the Farmhouse Veggie on a bed of braised kale. Portions were huge (Unfortunately, I didn't have room for dessert). My waitress Sarah was fabulous - super friendly, efficient and professional. Highly recommend if you are in the neighborhood!
Angie Escalante
The food here was fresh and all of the sauces are made in house. I do not recommend going on a busy Friday or Saturday night. The servers take a while to loop back around. However the quality of the food is DELICIOUS. The mussels are a must have. The French fries on top are DELICIOUS.
Max Pagano
Delicious and fresh food, locally sourced and high quality. Ended up waiting just under an hour, but it was worth it. Specials are delicious— got a drink and entree special and it was quite tasty. Everything was great and super filling; the wait was the only issue.
Daewon Lee
Food was great. Very nice people. Fish and chip was amazing
Dr JoAn Monaco
Meal was mediocre….turkey burger was the consistency of a hockey puck. The mussels were flavorless and my salad was wilted. The gaspacho was great…best thing of five meals and three appetizers ordered. And, I chose this place based on its reviews….didn’t do it for us.
Dylan Martin
Great place. Good brews, nice atmosphere and great food. I enjoyed it.
sharon
The milkshake here is sooo good!!! Also got some wings and Vermont cheese platter. Both were also good.
Christina Roma
Service is truly hit and miss. I've been here about 10 times in the last two months. I want to love it, truly. Most of my experiences have been great, but recently not so much. From ticket times on the busier nights, to forgetting to put in my appetizer. If someone orders a burger, give extra napkins, or at least stop by to ask if they need anything. I've had to walk over to the server station AFTER finishing my entree because no one stopped by or attempted to make eye contact to ask. If someone's glass in empty or nearing it, ask if they want another; my checks could easy be $30 more, and that's a super easy sell. Unfortunately for me the Burlington restaurant game is limited, so I will be back to hopefully better service.
Noah Mills
Extraordinary food served the same way. The atmosphere was comforting and hip. Only issue was the waiter wasn’t around as much as he could have been and forgot a few things. May have had a lot on his mind, we look past that, as we are all human. Great place, would recommend to anyone in town
Sadie Carroway
Waitstaff was super nice and the food was delicious. The quinoa cakes were a little heavy on the harissa but otherwise very good
Ryan Nunez
A little over priced for what you get. Drinks are good, they have a nice beer selection. Zombie dust is exceptional. I ordered the pork shoulder. Wasn’t the best BBQ I’ve ever had, but it’ll do. Nice place to conversate and drink. Hostesses are not polite.
Beth Baar
Delicious steak tartare, a amazing turkey burger. Try the tequila honeybee for a delicious unique drink.
Brian Pribadi
Very happy with the service!!! Ordered the brisket. It was overcooked, dry, and chewy. Our server politely handled it, and I received some of the best tasting and juiciest brisket ever. 10/10 would go back. Thanks for the pleasant experience!
Brett Stanes
Enjoyed our first experience at this restaurant. Food was good and solid service was provided. They accommodated our 2yr old son who was acting out by rushing an order of fries out. That's huge! My burger was decent but not the best I've had. BLT was massive (maybe too big) with a lot of bread that kinda overpowered everything else. Drinks were pretty decent (they made a good mule). We'll return in the future.
Emily
Sadly not a single vegan option among the breakfast and lunch options we had to choose from. I got a sandwich with egg, cheese, kimchi, and kale and it was very soggy by the time it arrived to me. Others with me really enjoyed their food but also had comments things could have been warmer.
I have been a lot in the past and had other good meals, not sure if I will return for breakfast.
Stefania R
I'm from mass and I keep saying I'd drive all the way back up there to go to this place again. Got their gluten free bacon burger and I'd never been happier. It was cooked perfectly with delicious toppings and fries. My boyfriend who is very picky got the chickpea burger and loved it.
Yuvraj Y
Found this through Thrillist and it was a great experience.
Their service is definitely top notch. Our server helped us decide what to order and her description was absolutely on point.
Tried both their Veggie burgers and they were delicious. Absolutely splendid.
Also, tried the blue cheese garlic toast. It was a little too sweet for my taste but the honey on it was so good.
Jeff Yates
30 minute wait with multiple open tables. Sure sign of being shirt staffed. My wife didn't get what she ordered but ate it anyway and was also charged I might add. Ordered my burger medium and it came out well done. Other than that?
Dajion Grant
The quality and fresh ingredients don't go unnoticed with FH. Expect a wait over the weekend
Emily Sweeney
As locals, we’re always in search of a comfortable lunch and dinner spot in the downtown area. The staff at Farmhouse has exceeded our expectations, especially this past week. My partner and I have been in twice this week. Both visits, we were served by Nina, whose professionalism and warm nature made our experiences at Farmhouse comfortable and relaxing. The manager on duty, Thomas, was very present and attentive. He came by to check in and was noticeably involved with staff and other guests. Don’t forget to visit Charles at the bar, he’s the best!
D. Conner
Good beer selection, but the food was lacking. Cold lamb burger and the patty was 1/2 the size of the bun paired with cold fries. Regular burgers and fries for kids were cold as well, I think it all just sat too long in the window as they were waiting for fish and chips which came out 5 minutes after our burgers. Maybe just an off night in kitchen....???
Amanda Barrows
We ate here twice during our stay in Burlington and everything was great. The chicken and biscuits were amazing, as were the cheddar ale soup and the market salad. The waitstaff was friendly and the ambience was nice.
Kartik Bharadwaj
Fantastic place. They were generous enough to give us a table without a prior reservation since we were visitors and not from town. The waitstaff are really helpful and were comfortable to double check on allergies and my vegetarian needs. We ordered the cheddar ale soup along with the farmhouse veggie burger and a chicken salad for my friend. All of those were up to the taste and no complaints. The soup deserves a special mention. Seating is as per Covid-19 guidelines and the place was well sanitised. Would definitely recommend paying a visit here whenever in or around the Burlington area.
Chris
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Hannah our waitress was an absolute superstar and we wish her the best of luck on her academic and general life endeavors. Can't wait to go back and experience it again!
Harrison McClarren
High price and service was not great. Waitress was hard to reach. Mac and cheese was pretty basic but made well. High prices of church street are reflected on their menus. Did not stay past apps because of noise, service and prices.
Melanie Harlan
This place is so cool. The onion rings were super good, the blue cheese bread was meh. For dinner, mom and I had fish and chips. They were good, but a little too moist (ie. soggy, but good flavor) and no malt vinegar. Sis had the burger and said it was delicious and perfectly sized. Niece had chicken and biscuits and, imo, this was the star of the night. Chicken was perfectly seasoned and cooked, veggies were spot on, biscuits were flaky, gravy was delish. The homemade condiments were a nice surprise and yummy addition.
Andrew Dabydeen
Definitely my favorite restaurant in Burlington. I came here a few times during my stay in the city and I had a great meal each time. The fish and chips is probably my favorite dish but there’s a lot to choose from. Outside seating is nice on a summer night so be sure to check it out.
Zachary Hubbell
Farmhouse would be considered a very good restaurant anywhere else in my book. However, the Americana style restaurant bar is so high in the Church Street area of Burlington, I can’t rate them higher than three stars.
Today, my lamb hamburger was good. I’ve also enjoyed their oysters in the past.
Service is always good! Prices are reasonable to high.
LC Stift
Our waiter was so friendly and amazingly personable. His beer and food suggestions were perfect. Had such a great experience at Farmhouse!
Emily Wilson
We had a nice meal and they were able to seat our large-ish party without a long wait. Server was very helpful re gluten free options. A little pricey for lunch, but delicious!
John Jerome
I happened to done there because I was at first going to go to El Cortijo but they were full. We even went so far as to leave our name and decided to walk around Church Street for a few minutes as we were told it would be a 30 minute wait. We came back in 25 and told it would be another 25 minutes to be seated. Mildly annoyed by this we decided to go elsewhere. My gf suggested The Farmhouse. It was close by. I was annoyed because I had my heart set on some tacos. As we walked into the farmhouse I was immediately struck by the layout. It was somehow warm and inviting. At that moment we received a text saying our table was ready at El Cortijo. I gave another look around and decided to give The Farmhouse a try. I had the burger as my main course and the wings to split with my gf who also got the burger. I have to say it was the best burger we've both had in awhile and the fries made Al's taste like dirt. They were as perfect as the burger. Our server was great. Everything arrived without too much of a wait and the wings were absolutely delicious. Not one morsel was wasted. We'll definitely be back!
Angela Valek
Came in for a quick drink and a nibble, and left after one beer. Seemed hectic and not very inviting.
marygrace t
Tartare was amazing and pork burger was juicy and flavorful but the regular burger came well done when asked for medium rare and was underwhelming for the price tag. Staff was great and ambience was nice.
William Vivian Jr
Amazing food and atmosphere! Fast service and friendly staff.
PJ Fur
Came today for lunch around 2:00 with 4 of us. We were seated immediately and greeted well by our server Connor. His service was very polite but very slow, we had to remind him several times for things - he brought 3 waters for 4 of us and then forgot the 4th. I had to ask again for water, an orange slice, blue cheese.
Burger was good, fries were great. The Pomegranate Green Tea mocktail was not to our liking, more sour than expected. The Allabash and Edward beers were delicious as was the Well Being N.A. beer I had. Chickpea burger was good, nice spice. Squash sandwich was very good. Nice homemade ketchup, mustard, Mayo and blue cheese.
Overall nice place, wishing the service has been more attentive.
Kevin Meyerhoff
Recommended for the beer selection but the food was even better.
Jocelyn DeMaio
There is a lot of variety on their menu, something for everyone. We went healthy and enjoyed the gazpacho which was delicious. The pear salad and special strawberry salads were also nice. The turkey burger had a lovely cranberry spread and very flavorful.
Anna CW
Emily was absolutely amazing! She was not only super sweet, but also really conscious of my dietary restrictions. I will definitely be back! Thank you Emily!
Dustin Walker
The food here was very unique. I got the salmon with pureed carrots, lentils and dill yogurt. To me that does not sound appetizing but I love salmon and wanted to try something new. I'm glad I did. Not only was the meal delicious but healthy to boot. The atmosphere was good and the beer list, like most places in Burlington, was amazing. Get the Farmstead Hill Solitude if you like IPAs. The food and beer gives this place five stars. I'd give the table service 3 stars...average.
Matt Werner
Sat at the bar for dinner while in town for work. Very impressive beer menu that is filled with a great variety of local beer. Had a lamb burger that was flavorful, but not sure I would pay $20 for it again. I would come back again though, for the beer menu!
Deanna Rothgeb
We really enjoyed The Farmhouse! We were seated for our reservation about 715. The natural lighting on the back patio area was so nice! Beautiful hanging plants everywhere.
We started with cocktails (Old Fashioneds), followed by 2 delicious salads (beets and arugula/blue cheese), followed by our entrees which were Salmon and Fish n Chips. Food was great and our server Grace was very attentive. We also loved the atmosphere.
We will be back when visiting the Burlington area!
Jacklyn Giron
Great food. A bit on the pricey side, but it's very much farm-to-table. Excellent selection of local craft beers on tap. Fun non-alcoholic options too! They have a great beer garden out back where the tables and seating are first come first serve. Seating was super quick despite a busy marathon Sunday. Servers were very knowledgeable of the beers on tap and what's in season/fresh.
Jeffory Boynton
Phenomenal food and service! I had the steak frites, as it was moderately priced and still got you the steakhouse experience! They were kind enough to ask the kitchen to make my fries on the side as a poutine, which was delicious! The bar tender was highly knowledgeable about the drinks and made some nice suggestions. They have some very high end steak cuts that will run you $40-50.00 (which I didn't try, but I'm told are amazing). Nice atmosphere! Definitely a good date night spot!
John Abry
A bit pricey but always great food and service. Had the Vermont Heritage Grazers Porks sandwich which was quite tasty paired with the Cambridge Brewing Amber. Great atmosphere on a sunny October afternoon :-)
Kris P
Great farm to table style eatery using Vermont grown and made foods and beverages.
Burger was just right with a perfect bun and pickled onions. Fries were crispy and tasty. They had homemade mustard, ketchup, hot sauce and a mayo sauce! All these are great. I stuck with the hot sauce!
Then there was the chocolate stout cake for dessert. Not too rich and heavy but light with great consistency.
Finally, they have a wide offering of craft beers and local wines. I have been away from Vermont a couple of years and was glad to have the chance to have The Alchemist beers Heady Topper and Focal Banger. Thanks Farmhouse for a great finale to my most recent Vermont visit!
Joseph Oakes
The drinks were excellent, the onion rings were even better still. The aioli served with the onion rings was delicious, the fresh herbs significantly elevated the dish. The lamb burger was very good. The blue cheese and apple aioli heightened the lamb burger even further. Where they started to decline was with the fish and chips and the service. The fish was very under seasoned- to the point of wondering if they did anything more than costing it with flour and water before frying it. We were given an additional order of fries by accident, and then interrogated by the server as to whether or not we ordered the fry appetizer- when in fact we just thought the fries that went with the burger had come out early. Upon finishing our meal it took almost 20minutes to get our bill, and then almost a half hour after that to have our debit card picked up to finish the transaction- the food was delicious, but over priced, and the service was slow and borderline rude. I'd go there again as a last resort. (If every other restaurant in the area has an unreasonable wait and all parties are hungry enough)
Farad Packedel
Very fresh. Just picked from the Garden.
We had salad and Mac n cheese. Both great and fresh.
Great and lovely people like everyone else in Vermont.
The menu is not super diverse but very fresh. Great for burger lovers too.
David Ontopi
Great restaurant next to Church St in the heart of Burlington. Friendly staff willing to accomodate everyone, online menu, good selection of beers & cider, plus tasty local food (VT cheese and salmon were delicious).
Stephanie Moya
This restaurant came highly recommended and they weren't kidding! It was packed for a weeknight but we had quick attentive service. Everything we had was delicious! The server suggested some awesome local wine too. Would definitely return!
Faisal Ansari
Not sure what the big deal is, the burger was good and the wings were below average. The cornbread was amazing to be fair but I would not wait 2 hours again to eat here
Diana Nguyen
This review is for my visit on 10/29/17 for dinner.
This restaurant is the epitome Burlington, VT. The menu consists of locally sourced ingredients and craft brews. I ordered the Misty Knoll Free Range Turkey, replacing the buns with sauteed kale for an additional charge, and chose the house salad as a side. Everything was well prepared and seasoned! The salad was crisp with just enough dressing to coat. The turkey burger wasn't dry and you could taste the blue cheese throughout the patty.
Since my friend and I came relatively early, the restaurant did not put the specials out until we were done with the meal in preparation for the dinner hours. I should have asked for the specials as I would have tried one of those dishes, but would happily come back to this establishment when I am back in the area.
Mary Jean mueckenheim
This restaurant has interesting and delicious selections on their not-too-extensive menu, including a lamb burger I plan to try at my next visit.
Dwayne Walker
My favourite place for food and beer in Burlington.
We had the steak tartare (spiced with horseradish to pair excellently with salty potato chips), crudo (delicious), blue cheese garlic toast (with local honey for an interesting flavour combination) and cheddar ale soup (perfect on a cool fall evening). For desert we had the chocolate stout cake à la mode paired with an espresso stout.
Amazing selection of local beers and attentive staff made for a great dining experience.
Matt Vicens
Let’s say this before anything: the food, dessert, tap list, and ingredients are absolutely phenomenal at this restaurant. We arrived around 6pm on a Monday and I thought the emphasis on beer taps and farm-to-table foods would mean an adult crowd. Wrong. There were a ton of kids here. Varying ages, varying table sizes. Granted, we did get here early in the evening on a Monday but I think it’s worth noting just how many kids were in the indoor dining room. In hindsight, the outdoor seating may have been a little better to avoid this (unless you love kids or have your own kids and would like an adult meal).
Back to the food and service. Helpful staff and seriously fresh ingredients. I got the Baller Burger and my wife got a turkey burger with side salad. Everything was excellent, even the candied beets. To top it off we had the special waffle & maple syrup a la mode dessert. It was top notch. My drink was a local double IPA. In short this place has amazing food.

Been here more than once and it's always a great atmosphere with great food. Is it pricey? Yeah. But, that's the price of quality and they don't cut corners. I got the onion rings in this picture and they were crispy, delicious and the onions didn't pull out when you bit them. That's the true sign of well made onion rings.
Alex Barnicott
I come to Burlington once a year but never stopped into this place until this year. This will now be a mandatory stop. They have a fantastic selection of locally brewed craft beers and the farm to table food is just really exceptional. Some people might say that the prices are a little steep, but I would argue that this place is definitely worth every penny. The service was also beyond reproach.
I can't wait to come back next year.
P. Kahn
Had a fantastic meal experience here. Even though the beer selection was fantastic, we started off with a pair of delicious Old Fashioneds, a dozen oysters (YUM+) and some burgers and salad. The place was quite busy on a Friday night but at 5pm we got seated right away inside. By the time we left there was a line and the outside was full. Would love to go back for some beers!
Linda Fraser
The food here is delicious! I had the turkey burger with grilled apple and would go back just for that! Fresh ingredients, full of interesting tastes! It is a large restaurant with a big patio. Lots of kids and quite noisy but worth it for the food!!! Service was ok but he had lots of tables and it was busy so he did what he could as he rushed around. I would go back for the food!
Katie Shaw
Drinks, appetizer, dinner and dessert all delicious. Excellent service with great teamwork amongst the friendly staff ensuring that the guests have a great experience. Overall very pleased!
Brittany Stewart
Quick place to grab a bite to eat. Pretty good place. The staff was nice. We got the wings and the fish/chips. The food was good, but I think the wings could be a bit spicier.
R Wood
Great beer selection and fun little places. The prices aren’t cheap but you are in downtown Burlington so there’s no surprise there. Fresh food was great with some interesting takes on classic dishes. My favorite was the “dressed greens” that were an option with my burger. Monster side salad with carrots, beets and sunflower seeds tossed in a very light vinaigrette. Yum!
Elizabeth W
So I should have to say the wings were pretty good. On the small side but good. The dressings did not have much of a taste. I am a condiment queen so I look forward to that just as much as meal. Staff were nice. Will probably give it another try.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Farmhouse Tap & Grill in Burlington VT. Every time I visit Vermont, I try and go to at least one different restaurant along with my old favorites. This time The Farmhouse Restaurant was the choice for something new. It’s right off The Church Street Marketplace located at 160 Bank Street right in downtown Burlington. Easy to get to. I used Uber which was super convenient! Everything in the Church Street area is super close and fun.
The location is perfect, the ambiance was amazing, we used Yelp’s “click ahead seating” and the table was ready by the time we got there. Now THAT was perfect timing. We had the onion rings for an appetizer and they were lightly breaded and delicious. I really wanted the fish and chips but when you go and look up the reviews, it didn’t really look like many people raved about it. What they DID, however, rave about was the pork burger. The Vermont Heritage Burger. I did not get the egg although my friend did. While they looked small, they were both very filling. Was it the best burger ever? I can’t say that. It was good, for sure. But at $16 I guess I had little higher hopes for it. And instead of the egg, they said I could substitute another topping … like bacon. “Sure, Bacon!” i said. It came with a single strip of bacon. The fries were good, the cole slaw was freshly made, the salad was nice and light – most of the meal was very good … it just wasn’t 5 STAR EXCELLENT.
I wanted to absolutely love this place. And between the ambiance and the good beer selection (especially the local VT beers!) I absolutely would return. Would I order a $16 burger from The Farmhouse? Probably not.
Serena Giglio
Amazing place. Food was excellent. Amazing craft beer and specialty bottles. Thank You for an amazing experience on my 38th Birthday
Alejandro S.
Food was okay, was cold and flavor was average. We ordered schnitzel and meat loaf. was ok. Service was awesome! 5 starts. Place is decent, and welcoming.
Chris Kolacz
This restaurant captures the Vermont Vibes so well. Fresh. Local, delicious are words that come to mind. I will come here every time I goto VT.
John Shea
This is a restaurant not a bar.. the bar is an after thought. The bartenders are good, but service is slow for a10 person bar. Beer selection is good. This is a family oriented restaurant.
Jennifer Joseph
My husband and I found this place in our guidebook and decided to visit for dinner during our honeymoon. Sitting by the row of glass windows was a little chilly but the waitress was amazing.
I loved the selection of kombucha and unusual soda flavors like blackberry rosemary. It's nice to be able to have things besides the unhealthy sodas most places offer. I loved my oysters and the Mac and cheese entree. My husband got the meatloaf and was very happy with it.
Seth Morabito
Service and food was great. The cheddar ale soup was delicious and the pork schnitzel was perfect. I would have taken more photos but I was too busy enjoying the food and the beer.
Aaron Elliott
First off, the service is immaculate. The serving staff have an immaculate sense of helping one another. There never seems to be a lapse in clearung unused dishes from tables, as well ensuring that each table is waited on in a timely fashion. This accentuates the absolutely phenomenal food dishes. Starting out the oysters were utterly unparalled in flavor and freshness. The cast-iron salmon had a crisp crust, yet not at all overdone. Overall, give this place a go, you'll not be disappointed!
connie robertson
Lovely lively large outdoor dining spot in the Church Street area. Our grilled salmon and flounder dinners were very tasty and fresh.
Jason Fritz
It was going to be an hour wait for our party of six, but there was plenty of space in the beer garden. Which was fantastic, and there was a great selection of apps, salads, and burgers to choose from. The pork burger? Awesome.
melinda savoir
The cheddar ale soup came out luke warm at best and it was thick and gummy. Seafood tower was worth the price. Steak tartar came out warm, not idea for a tartar. Cheese board had a nice selection. Kale and mushrooms need some acid like a shot of lemon juice. We only saw the server, Michelle, at the beginning and end of the meal so only had one beer. Drove two hours to try the place, overall not horrible but very disappointing, won't be back. Bartender was super nice.
Joel
The service was great with a friendly staff. For that I almost want to push this up to 4 stars but am not going to due to the food being so underwhelming in conjunction with the prices. So 3.5 is probably more accurate. The burger was relatively pricey but not bad as long as it all tasted really good. The size of it was smaller than expected with only 1 small piece of bacon on top. The bun was not fresh and the fries were overcooked and not fresh either. There is a good selection of draft beers. There was no wait to get in.
Johnny Chen
Sat at the bar. The bartender was awesome (don’t know her name but she was the pregnant one!), and gave a bunch of great recos. The tomato^3 platter was so special. Unlike anything I’ve ever had before! Cornbread was awesome. The foie grois burger was also so unique.
Top of my list for farm-to-table cuisine
Douglas Cummings
Extremely good!
My partner and I were in town on a little mini break holiday and had dinner one night here. We did not have a reservation (I'd recommend one), but were able to be seated after a short wait and some lovely cocktails and appetizers in the beer garden.
After being seated, out service continued to be excellent, and our food was also extremely good! I had a pork burger, and my partner a beet side dish and some mac and cheese. All very tasty. Could maybe be a few more vegetarian mains? But that's a minor beef.
Anyway, all around great. Would happily dine again next time I'm in town.
Stephanie Greenhoward
I’ve been to several restaurants across Burlington but this one took the cake. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of menu items and made great recommendations. The food was very delicious and delivered in a timely manner. I love food and This place set the bar very high. I will definitely be visiting again.
Rebecca Trono
Had the best burger ever! The service was terrific, and we loved sitting outside. Great dining experience and the food us consistently excellent.
Andrew Puch
Great beer and drink selection. Food was incredible! Highly recommend the apple pie!
Rosey Stuurmans
Great food and friendly folks working there! Nice to sit outside on a sunny day with patio shade. Both the beet salad and lamb burger were tasty!
Thomas Pletzer
Amazing drinks, service & food. The dining room is beautiful. Also, the GM Jessie is a powerhouse of a woman; very knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating.
Melissa Lucas
Busy restaurant. Had high hopes but it was just ok. The lamb burger was meh. The summer BLT sandwich was really big, too big to bite comfortably. The beer was fine, better breweries around. Service was slow, but nice people!
Jonathan Thomas
Great service. The pulled pork plate was not good at all. Very dry and not seasoned well. My $32 on this dish was not well spent. Everything else here has been awesome from the past. Once again, great service and cocktails.
Rawss LeBlanc
Very tasty burger and good drink, but service is odd. I've had okay service, and one new person. New person I get, not exactly sure what the others deal was.
Again, good is great, so it's worthy of a visit for sure.
Jessica Elias
Nice servers. Subpar food. The lamb slider was tiny, burnt and overly Salty. The regular burger was overcooked. They charge a tasting fee to try a beer.
Michael Spoto
This was one of the best restaurant experiences that I have ever had. when we walked in the place was busy and we were greeted right away. There was a short wait for a table So we had a drink at the bar while we waited. They had an amazing beer selection, and we were seated pretty quickly. The server whose name was Michael was absolutely incredible. Very attentive and made wonderful recommendations. The food was also out of this world. I highly recommend this place to anyone in the area.
Kristin Cairns
Delicious beer, cider and food! Loved the Vermont cheese plate and the BBQ-rubbed chicken wings. Super friendly service too. The outdoor bar is really fun!
Samantha Elizabeth
Shortly after we arrived in Burlington, we were hungry and in search of food and glad we found The Farmhouse Tap & Grill. Since there was a long wait for indoor dining, we decided to sit outside. Our server Connor was attentive and paid attention to detail regarding allergies.
For drinks, we recommend the Downeast Cider Original Blend and Von Trapp Helles. For appetizers, we shared an order of Crispy Onions Rings, which was served over horseradish aioli with additional condiments including ketchup, mustard, mayo, ans hot sauce.
The other guests in my party enjoy their dinner entrees including the Grilled Vermont Pork Loin, Roasted Dayboat Cod, and Adams Farm Chicken and Biscuits. The Grilled Vermont Pork Loin was served with fingerling potatoes, fall squash, and braised kale in a creamy mustard sauce. The Roasted Dayboat Cod was served with spaghetti squash, shaved radish, and herb salad in a lemon beurre blanc sauce. The Adams Farm Chicken and Biscuits consisted of pan roasted chicken served with mini cheddar scallion biscuits, roasted root vegetables, and roasted brussels sprouts in flavorful pan sauce. I wasn't super hungry so I had a Butternut Squash Bisque, Roasted Fall Squash, and Roasted Roots. The Butternut Squash Bisque was finished with pickled apple, a pumpkin seed oil drizzle, and sumac yogurt drizzle. It was a bit thicker than I liked. The Roasted Fall Squash consisted of Does' Leap Farm cherve, roasted delicata squash, cider gastrique, endive, pepitas, cranberries, shaved radish, and mint. The Roasted Roots consisted of roasted carrots, parsnip, and fennel. I'll admit I order-ordered and didn't have any room for dessert :(
Tammy R.
Waitress was awesome! Cornbread was great! Collard greens were soggy. We went later in the evening and sat inside but with the doors open, we were getting attacked by mosquitoes.
Mark Bechtel
Unique preparation on the mussels that took me back to time spent in France. Great bar staff.
Jackson Wajer
The Farmhouse is a great restaurant with great food. Every time I have gone, I had the Bacon and Blue Cheese Burger, and it is exquisite. The food is always cooked perfectly and the staff is friendly. It is usually busy for dinner, so you'd have better luck for lunch. If you're in Burlington and don't mind a tad pricy meal, the Farmhouse is the place to go.
Mark Thompson
Great place to meet and an enjoyable atmosphere. Great, fresh food at a good price. Great, helpful Staff. Next tome I'm in Burlington, I will be back !
Thomas Chapman
Just plain epic. Had one of the best burgers of my life here l. I also had the best cheese of my life too. The waiter was super friendly and explained the farm to table concept in Vermont. A practice Vermont was doing waaaayyy before the hipster crowd thought it was cool. Also the beer list is on point. Don't be scared of the expensive ones. They're worth it.
Lanette Ferguson
What a great find! The food was fresh, on the healthy side and delicious! We sat outside and the patio was heated. Definitely would come back!
Craig Knowles
Food atmosphere beer selection is Awesome! The corn bread griddle is great appetizer! Turkey burger and fries and the bbq pork and the Apple berry pie!
Craig Aitchison
Wow. Great food. The Cheddar and Ale soup was fabulous and Turkey Burger equally so. The service was thoughtful and fast.
David Bear
The burgers (beef and turkey) were terrific. Great service. And a very nice outdoor patio.
Bill Biskup
Great local food. Everything was great from the shellfish to the pork as well as all of the veggies and salad. The beer selection was great I even got a Head Topper! Staff was great and lots of fun. Great location right off the Church St. Marketplace.
Katie
Brunch was good, but pricy. Toast was hard as a rock, bacon was delicious, cheddar ale soup is delicious. Overall just ok based on price/value, 45 minute wait time, and had to download an app to make reservation vs calling in.
liz cress
This is a farm to family restaurant the food is a bit pricy for what you get. I ordered the mac n cheese but unfortunately it came out cold so it went back. Came back hot but it was not cheesy and rather dry and un appealing. The dessert was pretty good. The wait staff was efficient and friendly. All in all i would maybe come back and try a burger.
Carlos Joel Gazanini
I loved my visit! Very cozy and warmful. Great food and variations of locals Beers!
Natan L
Waited more then an hour to be seated drinks at the bar over priced.
The food was just ok but the service was slow as molasses.
armando marino
We have a nice experience and the food was delicious. The quality of the food is incredible. Highly recommended 👌🏾
Heather Smith
Cute spot but not fun during busy times. We sat at the bar. Bartender was overworked and a little sassy. Beer wasn’t bad but not worth being crammed in and having okay service.
Josh Harris
Excellent beer selection. They always have some Hill Farmstead on tap. Cheese plate is one of the best in VT. There are so many dishes, you can't go wrong. Great wait staff, friendly, knowledgeable, quick service.
O.H. Brown
Busy, friendly service, kind of pricey for what you receive. The food however is quite tasty, hope you like arugula!
Nice beer selection, locally sourced. Great pickles. Worth the trip.
Stephanie Nickles
corn bread appetizer is worth trying. very unique. had the standard burgers, which were classically good. garlic and blue cheese bread appetizer was also unique
Vivek Jain
Amazing place to have different teas! A lot of good collection and they help you pick the flavor for you. A bit pricey, but very good quality. They also taker online orders
Andrew Kaufmann
Having read a few reviews on the place over the last few visits to Burlington I had high expectations for this place. Whilst the food was good and tasty it was in my view only average. Not the spectacular food I was expecting. Services as ok but not brilliant and I didn't feel as welcomed as I have been in other places.
I would say this place is average at best but I am giving it the benefit of the doubt and perhaps I was just unlucky.
Jenna Pupp
Best lamb burger I've ever had, incredible pork burger over a bed of kale.. wonderful drink selection. Perfect outdoor atmosphere and the wait staff was so kind.
If you're around the area... definitely come here!
Ramon Oropeza
We went to this place the very first night we arrived into Vermont after our drive of more than 5 hours from NJ. We loved the people that took care of us, young and very professional and super upbeat!. We had beers from Zero Ground Brewery and the flatbread we ordered was incredibly delicious. Highly recommend this place .
Judy Alexander
The food was delicious; really good service, although we had to ask for bread rather than being brought to table. Decaf coffee at the end of the meal was lukewarm. Nice ambience but noisy. I would definitely eat here again.
Elizabeth Richardson
I wish I lived in Burlington so I could go here more often. the cheesey bread bites were so so good. I forget what they are called on the menu but wow wow
Rachel Haddock
The day was beautiful and the food was amazing. I had the beet salad , beer cheese soup, veggie juice, and BLT. Wow! For brunch, this was the best meal I had had in a long time ( of course I didn't have my kids and was on a vacation so that may also be a factor ;)
Kevin Sullivan
Food was delicious, (Order Salmon) they even make their own sauces in house which was cool. Plus your within walking distance to the docks where the view is beautiful
Justin Boivin
Definitely need to take the time to plan and reserve a table, they are very busy, they did however get us in early. Coming from the Boston area I would say these folks can easily compete with big city cooking. Great apps, great main courses, and enough to take home. Unfortunately I did not get to try the desserts but overall I would love to come back to this restaurant. I hardly post reviews but they deserve all 5 starts. Also compliments to the server, she was great.
Sara Izad
Loved the food here, really charming, but very crowded! We tried the chicken salad and burger and both were amazing!
P.S. They have a beer garden too!
Sue C
Outstanding food. Very pricey, although you get what you pay for. Staff was very friendly and attentive, the appetizers and meal were well timed.
Ellery Moore-Mendez
Courteous, helpful and friendly staff. Delicious food. I wished I lived her to sample every Delicious dish on the menu. The lava chocolate cake is heavenly.
Chris Paganelli
Great atmosphere, multiple seating areas, food is excellent.
Alexandra Ellis
Delicious brunch and cocktails! Great service
Annika Jonsson
Downright damn delicious food. MUST TRY. Gluten free options as well! Very knowledgeable staff
Jason L
Amazing farm to table meal with excellent service and a great atmosphere. Lots of selections of IPA’s on tap and in a great location.
Sam O'Shea
Great takeout with a helpful hostess. I’ll have to dine-in next time.
Josh DeBerry
I liked the idea and the dishes we had for lunch were very good and tasted fresh. The onion rings on the other hand came out cold and were a bit disappointing. The rest of the meal made up for it though!
Mili Patel
So delicious!! The place was packed and for good reason. Definitely dine here if you’re in the area
Jordan Buntain
Amazing soul-sating food. Great seasonal beer menu too. The fact that it has less stars than Leunig’s is a national travesty. Melodramatic? Sure. But, if that place has 4.7, Farmhouse gets 8.
Christopher Poudrette
The food here is amazing and the staff is great. I had their lamb burger with a Cimmerian (never had it before) and both were fantastic. It was great to know that they were involved with the community (a portion of the proceeds from the lamb burger were being shared).
GM Casolini
Solid selection of beer and the turkey burger was tasty. The service was good as well.
Allyson Rezac
This place was recommended to me when i was visiting from out of town. Very good food and drinks. Hashbrowns were awesome and we were pleased with the veg/mushroom benedict and the very huge breakfast sandwich blt. Note that they dont seat partial parties so come with your group or have a seat at the bar and grab a cocktail
Joey Stipek
Great cocktails and food. Restaurant was understaffed but attentive. A lot of dishes feel like deconstructed versions of pub fare. The pot roast was excellent as were the cheddar-scallion biscuits.
Justin Strona
Amazing service and even better staff. My first plate of food came out cold but they were quick to fix it. Plus the staff was overall friendly and inviting
David Fischer
Oh, how else to describe delicious food, beautifully presented, friendly and efficient service, happiness when leaving the place. Consistently good and healthy food that highlights the bounty of Vermont.
Charles Borchers
Nice atmosphere, good food, excellent beer 🍺 choices, decent overall service.
Dan Kramar
Absolutely outstanding! Excellent! Bar staff, gave us great recommendations for every place around in the area, really something! Really something! On top of that the food was out of this world, and so with the beer list! Five stars. No questions asked!
Tricia Jean
Went here on Tuesday to celebrate my Birthday with my boyfriend and we were BLOWN AWAY! I have celiacs and the server, Noel, was very knowledgeable, patient and he answered all of our questions. Noel went ABOVE & BEYOND as a server! He was so great, he made this experience memorable. The food was outstanding! Especially the shrimp cocktail & burger, they tasted amazing and perfectly cooked. I will recommend this place to anyone visiting Burlington, VT! Would give this an extra star if I could ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Richard Marsot
Had burgers with greens and it was well prepared and fresh. A good place to go eat in Burlington. the cost of the entrees is reasonable compared to the quality. Highly recommend.
Frederic Houle
Every time I go to Burlington I stop there. The food, the atmosphere, the beer, nothing compares.
Stephen Mauthe
The food was good. I ordered a burger and I could actually taste the beef. And a great beer selection. I only gave it 4 stars due to the very long wait time to be served. Might just be a product of the covid situation, but I was visiting from out of town so it's hard to say what the norm is.
Lauren Newman
I thought the food was average. Especially for the prices. The cocktails were a little watered down. I ordered the schnitzel which came out luke warm and tasted a bit bland.
Would go back but only for the chocolate stout cake which was excellent.
Andrew Wagenhofer
Great IPA selection and the cheddar soup is AMAZING. The booths are cozy but get a patio table on a nice day.
Kevin Owens
We came on a busy Saturday night and they were very clearly struggling with being short staffed while trying to accommodate a stampede of tourists in town for leaf peeping.
The staff was super polite and kept everyone informed. We unfortunately witnessed several borderline abusive customers. Kudos to the staff for their relentless professionalism.
We kept it simple and orders from the bar at the beer garden in the back. Most of their food menu is available there and they have a great selection. Great food, great beer, and great people - highly recommend!
Vince Tersegno
Burgers were cooked as requested. Nice large dining area to eat and relax.
Lee Moore
Yet another 'farm to table' place. VERY popular, and patrons were having a good time. We visited twice, all good. I'd give five stars except for value. Wait staff has a sense of humor (rare in the Green Mountain state) and the menu has something for everyone. Raw options seem popular but we passed.
This is a fun area in town, and this place stands out as the best/most popular choice.
Gabrielle Campeau
2000th review? Do I get a prize? ;)
This place was a surprising success for two undecided Montrealers out for the night. The food was great — I had the chicken and cheddar dumpling, and those dumplings do not shy away from a sharp cheddar; my partner had melt-in-your-mouth fish and chip, — the ambiance was top notch and service staff super friendly.
Try the beer shakes for dessert! Vanilla IPA is a super interesting mix.
Thank you for the warm welcome, TFTG!
Joan Papendo
Longterm COVID staff. Waitress did a great job ( we were a reservation for 15) waiter was snark personified, unfortunate. Loud to the point that some of the drink orders were wrong Cheerfully repaired and all delicious.
Dinner was just as good. Chicken and biscuit and fish and chips were generous and done right. . I had pork shnitzel The cabbage and spazel were great. Always leery of kale (a common accompanyment here) and it was delicious just cooked and not bitter. My shnitzel had lemon (mentioned on the menu) and a generous gloop of fresh (local?) mustard. Not mentioned and I am allergic. Maybe put it on the side?
Loretta Pontillo
Went in for lunch on a Sunday. The service was friendly and the food was brought out quickly. For soda, they only serve Boylans, and while I know some people like Boylans, their diet cola is almost undrinkable. Not the restaurant's fault, except that this is what they choose to stock. My partner's meal, a lamb burger, was good but a bit spicier than we'd anticipated based on the menu description. My meal of salmon with vegetables turned out to basically be a salad, which is ok except that they seem to have forgotten to put any kind of acid on it -- lemon juice, vinegar, something. It was as if someone had dressed the salad only in oil. The salmon, however, was very very good -- obviously fresh and well prepared. In the end, the amount we paid felt like an awful lot relative to how much or how little we'd enjoyed the meal. Maybe they were just having an off day? I don't know, it seems kind of overpriced for an underwhelming experience.
Carroll
They have nice selection of original dishes. As well as a good selection of drinks. Their menu highlights local ingredients used in the foods. The drink menu also highlights breweries in VT. Very clean and not crowded.
Kyle Bognatz
Bit unpleasant outside but the food and drinks were good
Dan OBrien
Susan and I were in town to see Bonnie Raitt at "The Flynn" and wanted to have dinner before the show. We sat at the bar. I had the Wiener Schnitzel and Susan had the kale salad and steak tartare. She raved about hers. Mine came out from the kitchen luke warm at best. The noodles were mushy. Overall I would rate the service fantastic, the atmosphere great, but my food was below average.
Saverio Roglieri
While it was on the expensive side, everything was amazing! Started off with onion rings and horseradish sauce. Nice and crispy but it wasn't just breading. For an entree we had the slow roast pork shoulder and clam chowder. Again both dishes had great presentation and flavor. Finished the meal off with warm apple pie and vanilla ice cream. We will be coming back when we are in town.
Michael Dempsey
Second time in, nice place. Very accommodating since I didn't have a reservation. Gave me a table right away. Beer choices god with plenty of craft. My summer chicken was very tasty. Gazpacho was delicious. Over all a very terrific visit.
Patrick Gallavin
Oysters were amazing, pork shoulder was solid, chocolate cake was lack luster but Alyssa, our server, was outstanding so makes for a solid 5 star! She recommended a great beer and was on top of everything. Great experience!
Bob Stone
Great wait staff, great food!
Jeff Kennedy
Food and service were outstanding. Scott at the front desk was super friendly and found us a table quickly. Oliver, our server, was bang on with his food and drink recomendations: the chicken and lamb were excellent. Great service, delicious food and friendly staff. Well worth a visit!
Chris Gagne
A great place if you're looking for a farm-to-table restaurant. A gastropub that has a wide variety of beer offerings, this restaurant was a great first choice. The pork shoulder plate and turkey burger were exceptional dishes that filled a BBQ craving and a nice option should you like to try something a bit different. Also, the homemade hot sauce is amazing, a mild, yet sweet sauce that definitely gives a nice level of flavor with its addition, especially to the fries.
Brenna t
Absolutely amazing staff! Very accommodating when it comes to food Allergies. After ordering server came to inform me that an item on my dinner choice was not GF but offered a few great alternatives. They even have separate fryers for people who are celiac which left me with many options for starters and meal choices. It is always very scary for people with true food allergies to eat at restaurants but I cannot thank Farmhouse staff enough for making this possible and easing my mind with their knowledge and not making me feel belittled or embarrassed by how cautious I have to be in my ordering process.
Laura Runge-Gordon
We celebrated our anniversary there and it was a great choice. With gluten, dairy, soy, egg and other food allergies, I am very particular. The staff handled my requests very calmly and delivered perfect food in a quick time frame. It was a lovely, friendly environment. Would go again. Make reservations.
Jean-Michel Gastonguay
Awesome burger and fish & chips. Great beer. Nice place. We are very satisfied. Good job guys!
Kristin Silverman
I live in the Burlington area but almost never go to this restaurant, in part because it’s so popular and often quite busy. But it happened to work out tonight that the 45-minute wait estimate sounded fine and the menu looked best to our party. The “your table is ready” text arrived to the minute, so kudos to the host for an accurate estimate!
Then the meal. Delicious drinks and appetizers. Of the four entrees at our table, there was a problem with one. In my opinion, the test of a good business is not whether everything goes perfectly — but how they handle anything that was not so perfect. The staff were friendly, prompt and professional in dealing with a small problem. And all four of our party left satisfied with delicious food and with a high opinion of Farmhouse as a restaurant. Thanks so much!
Kyle S
Food was decent but overpriced for what we got. Also the 2 hour wait left a lot to be desired.
I added two stars because their salmon was good and so was their service. Burger still left something to be desired but it wasn't bad.
manal Bakhlija
One of my favorite restaurants in Burlington 😍 …
Stephen Taft
Out for a bite one evening in Burlington and waited for a table here. Totally worth it, my burger was top-notch and my wife's entree was perfect, too. Above and beyond? They had Edward on tap ...
Katherine “Kat Wilson” Wilson
My favourite spot in town. Their beef tartar is the best I've had in the US. There is also a heated outdoor terrace and private courtyard out back that makes for an awesome ambiance!
Lyndsay Hill-Warrington
Fantastic! Great food. We had the seafood platter appetizer I had the scallops for dinner. Excellent, smaller on the serving size which was perfect for me. Servers were attentive even though it was busy and we were a large group.
LP Pelletier
Great beer selection. Food is decent.
Brendan Walsh
Really nice Biergarten backyard setup. Some people might like that they can order through their phones. I'd recommend not doing that— the staff are really nice and worth talking to.
Silviu M.
Had a very tasty lamb burger here. Beer was excellent as well. Would be good if the bartender would be less grumpy...but maybe he was just having a bad day.
alden cushman
Loved it! Great fresh food and wonderful service. Indoor and outdoor seating, delicious desserts.
Sarah Wright
If you’re looking for somewhere to eat in close proximity to everything on Church St with decent atmosphere, you’ll be happy here. The service was good and pretty prompt and responsive.
The food, however, is overpriced for what you’re going to get. I ordered the Market Salad for $10.95 and received a slightly wilted mediocre side salad…not at all entree-sized.
The fish and chips were serviceable, but the fries were over cooked and under salted. The remoulade was somewhere between a tartar sauce and a remoulade. Some of the burgers are priced over $22… which I wouldn’t even pay in a far bigger city.
Matt B
One of my fav spots in Burlington, but also in the entire state of Vermont. The food is amazing, and the beer list / draft list is extremely well curated. They do a great job of pouring beers from VT, but also all around the country. Drinking a Lost Abbey ale was a pretty great way to spend a Thursday night. Great staff, too! Dan was awesome. Enjoyed a long conversation with him, and learned a lot.
Victoria Leslie
The vege burger is unique and flavorful. Would reccomend and come back.
Corinna Giles
Lots of interesting burger selections, love to have more options than just beef. Honestly though, all 5 stars are for our server Mike! He was very attentive without being overcrowding. He had recommendations on customizing the burgers when we expressed interest in more than one. And when I ordered a custom pretentious cocktail, he took it in stride and even helped with whisky selections. I would absolutely come back just for the cocktails and the service, but the excellent food is a great bonus. I'll be bringing family here when they come to town. Side note: they had a lot of options that looked like they came or could be made vegetarian or vegan. A friend got the veg burger and has been raving about it for a week!
Sharon Fosbury
Excellent food and a vibrant outdoor seating area make this restaurant a must in VT.
Danielle Doza
The food was excellent. Beer and wine list will have something you want. The service was good as well. While the website says there are vegan options and to ask, it was super limited. If you don't have a vegan eater with you, the menu will be great.
Harry Wendt
Been here a few times. Never been disappointed, though you pay a bit of a premium.
I was walking around, solo and hungry, at 10 and noticed a sandwich board outside stating they were open daily until 11.
Walked in and was told that they had stopped serving 20 minutes prior (it was 10:10). When I mentioned the sandwich board (written in chalk), I was told that it must be an old sign.
Update the sandwich board or don’t turn people away 50 minutes prior to when it says. It’s just courteous and honest.
Emily Homeister
The service was fine and friendly, and fast. But we were not impressed by the food. The cheese plate is expensive for the quality. The pulled pork sandwich was soggy and inedible. Would not come back. 3 stars simply for the friendly and fast service. Not the servers fault the food wasn’t great.

Located just a few yards outside the Church Street marketplace, this haven of culinary satisfaction feels 100 miles away from the sardine like atmosphere of the marketplace restaurants, where the wait to get a table only increases your hunger pangs. The menu suggests comfort food, but it's created with a modern flair using healthier ingredients, leaving you feeling full but not awaiting pending indigestion.
In warmer weather, one of the best things offered are two outdoor patios, one (the beer garden) populated with comfortable couches in which to sit back and have a tasty cocktail while you're waiting for your table. You can also order various appetizers to keep you sated. All in all, a delightful experience while visiting Burlington!

One of my favorites in Burlington. Food is always fresh and service is spot on.

I am a google local guide and a local lover of all things Burlington. And I don't take food lightly as its one of the best parts of this amazing little city.
The Farmhouse Tap & Grill is a five-star local upscale eatery in Burlington. Its been owned by the same family for years and they are a lovley lot! Service is about a 4.5 out of 5 and they are always awesome when it comes to accommodating the best possible seating for you and or your party! The food is small, delicious, and expensive I go there about once every two months as I am a local, and it is more than worth the money when you realize that all of the food, while a bit small, is 100% local and is prepared with love in the kitchen! 9/10 (one point knocked off for price), but if your a local or a tourist with a little extra cash to splurge on the wonderful local experience of Burlington, this is one of the amazing restaurants in which to do so! If your still on the same budget, but your stomach needs more than their small burgers will provide, check out my review of my favorite restaurant in Burlington, Leunigs Bistro! Both are lovely, upscale, nicely-staffed eatery! Have, and still would recommend! Also worth noting that its a awesome place to engage in a little romantic dinner with your S/O!
Meagan O'Brien
Nice patio area and cocktails. The fries with condiments were excellent.
Justin Kyle Tanner
Some amazing service and great facilities! Some of our food was a bit off (either wrong order or some confusion on what was in the menu), but it was a great place to gather with friends!
Sharyn Lincoln
The food was incredible. We loved absolutely everything we had (cheese plate, chicken and biscuits, pork schnitzel, and apple pie). Good selection of local brews, but the food is the star.
Jung-Shan Lee
Fish n' Chip and the pot roast are both so good! We would go there again!
Edythe Frankel Kelleher
Very nice indoor and outdoor seating. Food & service both excellent. Fish & chips was fresh and good quantity, tho too much breading. The special burger was ordered medium, but arrived quite rare and took two iterations to get right; kudos to the restaurant which said they wouldn't charge for it. And it was really, really good after all that - I enjoyed every bite. Large selection of craft/draft beers and some nice wines for the rest of us.
Ryan Gajewski
Great location and atmosphere - beer selection was obviously fantastic. We tried the fish and chips, and while the hake was great, the batter was a bit overdone and not ideal. Other food was also good but not great. Worth visiting again though!
E V
Love this place. Always great food and amazing beer list. Cheers
Alan Schneider
The food and atmosphere were fantastic.
We shared an heirloom tomato starter. We. Both had a Seafood Chowder dinner and shared an apple pie dessert. Everything was fresh abd delicious. The service was great.
Patrick Brew
I went there the other night and i would recommend sitting downstairs , I got the maple chili wings and they were outstanding. So flavorful and not overly spicy. Great Restaurant
Cathleen Keogh
Amazing food! Excellent service!! Friendly staff!
Helen Kyne
One of my favorite places to eat in Burlington. Staff is great, food is good and great variety of beers.
jessica recinos
Great local spot, with fun outdoor seating!
Jennifer Turbes
I've eaten here before and loved it. However, recently we went again and I was unable to eat almost anything on the menu because they use soy oil in everything- frying things, salad dressings, aioli, you name it. Due to an allergy I cannot eat soy or dairy right now. They were unable to adjust any dishes, and eating there would mean having something with 2/3 the ingredients taken off. Too bad! I do appreciate that they were easily able to tell me what allergens were in each thing, and our poor wait person did an admirable job of maintaining a friendly and sympathetic attitude despite the kitchen's inability to adapt.
Tim Wescott
Excellent dry rub wings, enjoyed the pork burger. House made condiments a treat!
Josh Rowland
Nice place just not my style. Great service and atmosphere though.
Politimi Kelekis
Nice menu selection with interesting and tasty options. The beef burger was delicious — nice and juicy, and the fries were also great! Kids pasta was “yummy.” We also had turkey burger and grilled cheese. Everyone was happy with their food. Also, wonderful outdoor seating, excellent service and helpful staff!
Eli Hodgson
Went out with some friends on a brisk Christmas Eve eve (aka Festivus) to enjoy some food and drink. The Farmhouse didn’t disappoint! We were seated in a booth (nice) and we’re attentively taken care of throughout the night. The waitress at our table was super sweet and helpful. The Mac and cheese was made with cavatappi noodles, which we LOVEEEED. They even left the cast iron for us to dip our biscuits in the cheese! We got a bit rambunctious, as you do on Festivus, but the staff remained patient and got us everything what we needed. The H2O remained topped off! I had the lamb burger and a couple of wings and they were *chef’s kiss* perfection. Swing thru here! The ambience and staff will make your dinner party delightful.
Ms Norman
Amazing food, nice staff and great ambience
Celeste LaBelle
Fantastic food and excellent service on a busy Saturday! Make a reservation, or plan to grab a cocktail in their perfectly moody basement pub with first come first serve seating while you wait!
Rachel Norton
Have only been for brunch and have not stopped dreaming about the biscuits and gravy. Food in general was awesome, and brunch drink menu was great too!
carolyn eastman
Great atmosphere and the food was delicious, I had wings and squash bisque.
Others had the fish and chips. They said it was also very good and the portions were good. Would go back.
Bruce Merrill
Excellent food! When I hesitated on whether to do a salad or fries with the veggie burger, the bartender recommended doing 1/2 and 1/2, which was perfect because they were both delicious! (And I had an excuse to try out the homemade condiments with the fries) And that burger was amazing. Of course, the beers were top notch and the service was exceptional. Highly recommend it here!
Billy Dana
Great place to get a bite to eat with some great local brews on draught. I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries and they were delicious. Quality of the meat was good and the bacon was a nice thick cut. The fries were up there as far as fries go. I love good fries and those were fries that I fell in love with. They don't skimp on the amount of fries either. The bartender was pleasant and she made some great recommendations for beer. I just wished she offered samples. Glad her pick was good.
Amalia Langlinais
Went in a large group, the food was good, the restaurant was packed. Mostly a great experience, took forever to get my drink. Chicken platter was good, could have been a little less dry
Filip Galiza
Outstanding Americana food that's fresh and very aromatic. Beer selection is simply superb and the service is top. All of this and at a price that is affordable. Be ready to spend between $15 to $25 a person with a fine beer, and its worth it. Restaurant is quite lovely and with the outdoor sitting in the warmer months, you simply can't beat it. One of my go to spots when I visit my friends in Burlington.
Nathon Horton
My favorite restaurant in all of Vermont. Amazing beer list with all the big hitters - Hill Farmstead, Alchemist, Lawson's, etc. The food menu is limited and pricey, but the quality is exceptionally high. Burgers are also great. The special of the day is a frequent choice for me.
Updated July 2022: draft list feels a bit smaller than it used to be but still hits the big hitters from Vermont. Food is still super fresh and delicious.
Paul O'Donoghue
Long wait on a Sunday night during vacation week but glad we went. Great beer selection. We both got the burgers that were solid. Staff was great!
Jenny Williams
We went to this restaurant while we were in Burlington for the day, and everything was delicious with a great atmosphere and service. They had a sign at the front mentioning that they’re short staffed, but it was the best service! We really loved this place.
Mandi Chukin
We dined at Farmhouse to celebrate our wedding anniversary while visiting Burlington. We had a wonderful experience. Our appetizer was a blue cheese toast, drizzled with honey. It was a perfect balance of funky and sweet. I had the featured burger with a salad and my husband had the fish and chips. My burger was juicy and perfectly cooked and the fish was so tender with delicious house made tartar sauce. And both plates were unexpected - not your typical burger & fish and chips, but elevated to a new level. They have a great craft beer selection as well and a nice cocktail list - both of which we explored and enjoyed. We were there on a busy Friday night, and the place was hopping, but we still managed to get seated at a table for 2 within 5-10 minutes. I would check this place out again, especially to see their seasonal offerings.
Chrishell B
Althea was very nice waitress. She was attentive and helpful. She made our dinner experience wonderful.
Dani Herzog
We had the nitty gritty corn cakes. Idk what we were expecting but it wasn’t pancakes. Turns out it was delicious! They were savoury and had kale, roasted mushrooms, and sweet potato and it all worked really well together. I love trying foods that are so unique that you wouldn’t find them in other restaurants. This turned out to be better than we could’ve anticipated and I’m so glad I got to try a new thing! The drinks were great as well. I got a Belgian white beer.
matthew Powers
Friendly staff, great outdoor seating. The food and beer was on point.
Reginald Blackwell
Staff was very friendly and food was great. So many options to decide from. There are a od healthy options as well.
Cameron Farah
Good wait staff, excellent food and an excellent beer selection. I ordered a burger which was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. I've been here a few times and always have a great experience. Others I was with raved about the beer selection (my first Heady Topper was served here). I will continue to come back.
D R
The service here was perfect! One of the best places to eat outside in Burlington. Extensive beer selection. Love that they support local farms. Unfortunately the descriptions of the food on the menu sounded better than the results tasted. I did love my burger, but a good burger is really easy to find and it wasn’t worth the prices.
Betsy Combs
The food is local, seasonal and amazing. The Hibiscus hot toddy is warm and inviting. Our waiter, Quinn, made us feel at home and ding with family. Although we are local, dining at the Farmhouse always feels special.
Brian Wentworth
Great food everything was fresh and homemade, great service staff was friendly.
Echo Kopplin
Great food and atmosphere! Excellent local brews. Our party of six all found a nice beer and dinner plate. Would recommend if you're in the are!
Tayler Engel
The beer selection has always been the best part of this place. Every time I’ve gone they’ve had a wide selection of styles from VT and outside. The food is fine, nothing spectacular besides the blue cheese garlic bread. The burger that includes bacon on it only has one slice which is kind of skimpy I think. Overall though, decent service and friendly staff.
Dawn Vining
Good food and beer. Good family place. Decent prices. Comfortable lighting.
Stacey Aust
Outstanding food. The salmon was outrageous. All appetizers were delicious. Service was great. One wish was for one or several more Scallops as N entree portion.
Gregory
The quality of the ingredients in their food really elevates the level of taste with each bite. Their delicious selections of beer is also impressive. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. This place is a staple in Burlington cuisine. I will be coming back here again when I visit.
Deirdre Hall
Food is delicious, cocktails are on point, and the atmosphere is great (especially the outside area)! For food, highly recommend the summer BLT and LaPlatte burger. For drinks, loved the Sangria Blanca and the Hemingway Daiquiri. Also, wait staff were really nice which is always makes a place even better. :)
ANG PAT
Pretty good food, great service! The mac n cheese was very tasty. We had such an excellent server. He was friendly, attentive, and just on top of it in every way. The whole team was rolling out food and bussing like a well oiled machine. It was impressive to watch. They also have great outdoor space. We sat on the front patio and were surprised there were so few mosquitoes. Great all around!
Gabriel Unger
Great food and nice-but-not-too-nice decor. We were seated right away on a Friday evening (there are lots of tables). I was impressed by the beer list. The service was quick and attentive. Our server forgot to put in our cheese plate order, but comped it right away when we brought this up. I'm usually one to order a burger or other large meat entree, but wasn't super hungry so I got the quinoa cakes. They were delicious! Very reasonable prices for a farm-to-table restaurant.
Jessica Zavada
Delicious food and waitress Noel was great!. Catered to food allergies
Dee Stiles
Hands down, the best burger with blue cheese ever! And the apple berry pie....absolutely delicious! One of the friends with me had dietary restrictions due to severe food allergies. (Not fun when looking at a great menu!). The waitstaff were so kind, so helpful and went the extra mile to be certain the foods she ate were exactly what she requested.
Eating on the patio on a beautiful, warm day made for a memorable
day! Definitely an enjoyable experience.
Tiffany Sylvester
The food here was delicious, the beer selection was awesome, and the service was great. I came here with a group of friends for the weekend of new years, it was packed but we were still regularly getting drinks. We actually came here twice during our weekend stay, once just for drinks and once for drinks and dinner. Both time the service was awesome, the food was awesome, and the drinks were awesome. I'm not a huge beef fan but with the selection they had I found plenty of beers I enjoyed.
Julie Buchan
My daughter and I came here for dinner after my other daughter had minor surgery and we could not have asked or received better food and staff consideration....the total experience flawless....they found us a table even though it was busy and served us some of vermont's best food.....do yourself a favor and enjoy this great dining experience for yourself.....AAA+ going back tomorrow for dessert.....I highly recommend this place....thankyou to all who helped us.....
Ethan Smith
Every time I have visited it has been a great experience. From the lounge in the basement with its cozy atmosphere, to the beer garden in the summer and the restaurant itself, this place is top notch. Not to mention the brunch is crazy good! I never knew they did brunch until recently and have been twice since to order the same thing both times. I always recommend this place to others, especially when they have family visiting and want to show them a nice time. Whether you want brunch, another meal or just a place to have a nice craft beer or finely made cocktail, this place is great!
Megan Thayer
Good variety of beer, wine and mixed drinks. Server was attentive and very professional. The place itself was very relaxing.
We both ordered burgers and were very pleased. Their hand cut fries were also delicious.
Burgers ran around $17 or so. Mixed drinks were around $10 and beer was around the same, maybe a little less.
Sebastian A
Had the Framinghammer 2017 and a Laplatte Burger. 10/10. The vibe of the restaurant is nice, especially when night falls. Highly recommended.
Ann Furbush
We came on a busy Saturday night and had to wait about 30 minutes. While waiting, we went to the beer garden out back and enjoying incredible local beers including Lawson's sip of sunshine and hill farmstead's Susan. Once at our table, we got the new mozzarella appetizer and it was delicious! We both got burgers and they were great! I loved that I could substitute the bun for a bed of kale! Hand cut fries were awesome too! The waiter was friendly and gave us great suggestions for what else we should experience in the city. Overall great experience and we will be returning!
Savannah
It was a very cute atmosphere our waiter was very attentive and patient. However, the menu was a lot of burgers, very original Burgers, but so pricy. I would have liked more options. One appetizer was 3 "jumbo" shrimp for $9 that's 3 dollars per shrimp 🍤. That's just a little much for me but maybe I'm cheap 😄 …
Brittney Bates
Loved it! Beer was excellent, food was fresh and very tasty. You could taste the farm fresh beef and greens. Not your traditional burger. Extremely juicy and full of flavor. Their side salad was delicious. My macaroni and cheese was awesome, but I was jealous of my husband's burger.
Pat Buono
So, farmhouse group owns a number of locations in and around town. I'm not a fan of all of their spots, but the flagship is key. Their beer list is full of eclectic aged and imported beers. The food is really good, but a bit pricy. The back biergarten is good and has some solid local bands when coronavirus isn't a thing. Maybe one day we'll have music back there again. I just had a 2010 rochefort 6 beer tonight with a good friend. Incredible.
Trent Nutter
4.5 rating. The food and service were very good along with the atmosphere.
Wanda Zygmuntowicz
Friendly, professional staff. Interesting upscale spin on popular taproom and grill foods, that taste good, but a bit pricey. Good cocktails and beers. Appropriately socially distanced outdoor seating hivingvyou an angled view of Church Street to indulge people watching whims.
Winnie Chan
The food was alright, nothing that really blows your mind. They have a good beer & cocktail selection. Would recommend getting the bacon wrapped dates and sangria if you go
Justin C (Nixguy)
I love this place. Their beer selection is almost always outstanding. The food is great, but honestly it's the price that prevents me from giving them five stars. Pricey. I wish they had better appetizers as well. The burgers are great, get the lamb special when it's on. Atmosphere is pleasant. Gets crowded, but that's to be expected. The cheese and cochuterie boards are superb too
Matt Takas
Great farm to table food experience! I was here about 5 years ago and the food is just as good as it was then. The beer selection is amazing as well! Vermont beers are very well represented here and the variety of styles to choose from is enough to satisfy anyone. Check this place out, as it's right off of Church St. and easily accessible. It does tend to be busy on the weekends, but the wait was not too long.
Claude Demers
Amazing staff, food and beer selection. Staff is knowledgeable and always polite and helpful. Beer menu is well put together and varies a lot. The beer garden in summer and the "speakeasy" type basement bar both add to the unique experience. Food menu is a bit limited, but I've never had a bad meal there.
Daniel Fosterman
We have been coming here for years and haven't been disappointed. The burgers and salads are really good. The beer selection is pretty strong. It's easier to get tables on the "garden" out back. It's nicer for kids because they can run around a bit.
Elizabeth Szabo
We were in the basement of the restaurant. Really cozy with fire place going. We sat at the bar. Great beer selection and the food was delicious. We started with a beet salad and I got a pork burger with an egg on top and my hubby had a beef burger equally delicious. Bartenders were friendly and attentive. We were visiting from NJ, otherwise we would come back. Thanks for an enjoyable dinner and evening.
Kiley Wilber
Great atmosphere, vast and ever changing array of beer and locally sourced food. They boast a great selection of vegan and vegetarian meals and apps. We had brown ale brewed with maple, so yummy. Would recommend and will definitely visit again the next time we are in Burlington.

Edit 07/2019
Well... I've been coming here for many years, and been witnessing this place going down, unfortunately. The food is now just "okay". We also just had a very bad experience, one of the worst I had in my life. The waiter wasn't able to accommodate the invoices for a group of six (!!!), and was so arrogant...it took us 45 minutes just to pay and split the bill for our small group.

Incredible selection of beers both on tap and bottles, paired with incredible food made of fresh and local ingredients. Don't miss the burger, the meat is so fresh and of quality, you could even eat it raw! One of the best place in Vermont, for sure.
L Bee
Delicious food. Excellent customer service. The collard greens a lone are worth the visit. Limited on cocktails but bar tender was so accommodating.
Jill Hampton
Definitely worth the hype! The salmon was delicious and cooked perfectly. My husband got the hamachi crudo, and it was so good he ordered a second plate! Would definitely recommend.
Pamela Brisjar
Meal was great (cheddar ale soup and BLT). Dessert (chocolate stout cake) was disappointing.
Elizabeth POOCH
My husband and I went after recommendations...we were so pleased with the freshness of all the products and the wide range of beer choices. Our waiter (Mark or Mike?) offered one of the best services we ever experienced! He had extensive knowledge of all the farms that collaborate with the restaurant as well as local history in and around Burlington (he should be a tour guide!). He was able to answer all of our questions about how certain dishes were concocted. This man deserves a big raise! We will be back! 😋
Sara K
We visited this establishment for lunch on a Tuesday afternoon and it was some of the best food I've had! The service was exceptional, the restaurant was clean, and over all we had a wonderful time!
We ordered the corn bread (omg amazing!)and the roasted beets (get in my belly!) for appetizers, an egg salad sandwich with greens on the side, fish-and-chips, and a burger with onion rings. There was not one thing on the table that we didn't all love! Honestly, I'm still thinking about it now that I'm back home from vacation. I wish I could get more :)
We happened to be there as a storm rolled in and my husband helped clean up and tie down the awning that the wind was about to blow away. Just a normal human thing to do, but the manager gave us $17 off of our meal! So not necessary and such wonderful people. Our server was Sarah and she couldn't have been more wonderful. We interacted with a lot of the staff and they were just a really great group of people. I truly appreciate this experience and recommend you check them out!
Amy Sessock
Last night my boyfriend and I enjoyed eating dinner downstairs in the parlor. Our waitress went above and beyond double checking the ingredients to make sure everything was soy free.
They have a new veggie burger that is absolutely delicious, squash and mushroom. I highly recommend it. Overall great service, food and atmosphere.
Edward Eigerman
Nice place. Great French fries.
Abbott Stark
Not only do we love the local food mission of Farmhouse, we also love their cooking! Many of our guests love the Farmhouse because of their tasty menu and expansive local beer selection. In the Summertime, parties can dine outside. There is often a wait for a table, but it's usually not so bad because the waiting areas (basement cozy fireplace bar or back garden) are so conducive to pleasant hanging-out and comfortable conversation. You can't go wrong by ordering the burgers (both veggie and meat).
Jose Aparicio
For the last 5 years I've been going to The Farmhouse Tap & Grill after the VT Brewers fest at the Waterfront. The Mac n cheese is incredible! This year I switched it up and got their burger which was also very good! The service is just as good as their food. They have always been professional and ensured all our table's orders were exactly what we wanted. I plan to continue to return every year!
Philip Yaghmai
Great food and service.
Jonathan Tracy
Went here for an anniversary dinner and was absolutely blown away! While the wait (9pm on a Saturday) was long, the service was excellent, and our server John was AMAZING; he took great care to make sure the entire evening was perfect in every way! If I could guarantee him a raise, I would; I can't stress enough how special he made our date.
The food is farm to table, with lots of options for any palate, and a truly exceptional draft list. This restaurant is a "don't miss" if you're in the Burlington area!
Melissa Silverman
This has long been our favorite restaurant in Burlington and never disappoints. It is THE place for fresh, locally-sourced, perfectly prepared American comfort dishes.
The LaPlatte burger really is that much better than any other hamburger you have had or are likely to eat. The salmon was a beautiful piece of fish, served with tender baby greens. The chocolate cake met all expectations - a strong. dense chocolate cake with chocolate frosting that carried the flavor perfectly, without overpowering or underwhelming. This is a dessert to be savored – as too few cakes are. (In other, lesser places, in other, lesser hands, cake is dry and crumbly, or dense but bitter, or too thick and sludgy, with frosting containing so much sugar or [at its worst] hydrogenated-something or other that it is left behind on the plate, a skeletal structure from which the cake has been extracted.)
On past visits to The Farmhouse, we've thoroughly enjoyed (and raved far and wide about) the beer garden located behind the restaurant and accessed through the main entrance. This is a grown-up beer-garden, a great place to sample good beer and snacks while awaiting a table in the restaurant. (Sadly, on this visit, there just wasn't time.)
If we lived closer to Burlington, we would eat here all the time!
Ryan Calvi
Excellent place for beer and local food.
I have been coming here ever since I decided I was going to move to the area.
I have had the burgers every time I have come here, and have yet to be disappointed.
They have a extensive beer list, local and international. One of the best beer places in Burlington.
They are a busy restaurant. I would recommend reservations if possible. Or it is possible you can wait up to a hour+ for a table.
Ken Lasteo
Top notch! We have been here for dinners and on the latest trip for brunch. They are always very friendly, polite and professional. This is a popular place and they usually run a wait list of about an hour but in our experience seating is generally sooner and the bar is available if you want a drink while you wait. The beverage selection is great and the menu has some innovative salads and vegetarian options which is perfect for us. The ambiance is upbeat and the food arrives fast and is always fresh and delicious. The wait staff is very efficient and friendly.
Drew Adamczyk
Consistently excellent food with a focus on local ingredients sourced by name. Great cocktails and extensive beer list too. Very accessible from downtown, gets very busy on weekends, so expect a wait. The downstairs lounge is a great option if the upstairs dining room fills up, it's super cozy and you can order everything from the regular menu in a more relaxed service environment.
Glen Miller
Excellent meals. The chicken and biscuits was spot on perfectly cooked and super flavorful. The quinoa cakes were bomb according to one of us. The burgers were juicy and good sized. Nice beer and cider selection. Clean restaurant with nice ambiance, great location right off Chuch Street, and good service. Not thrilled with the VT food and alcohol taxes which is excessive, but can't blame the restaurant for that. Overall, it's an excellent choice for a snack or meal while visiting the big B.
Gregory Gaul
Wonderful lunch. Had 1:00 pm reservation. Seated promptly. Party of 5. Staff most attentive. Lunch special fried oyster salads were a real treat. Check out the seafood plateau. Beer selection impressive. I rate as just about the best down Burlington restaurant.
Nicole Lavallee
The food is pricey and they try to an upscale place. Atmosphere was ok. The place was slow for a Saturday night.
The veggie burger was very juicy but nit very tasty. It really had no flavor.
The mac and cheese was huge. Lots of breadcrumbs but tasty.
The pulled pork was small but flavorful. The cornbread was delicious.
Regina Valeriano
Everything I had from here was absolutely delicious. All the dishes were so creatively thought out. The restaurant was very busy and they still brought out the most perfectly cooked meals. The ambience was a bit loud but fun. I loved looking at all the industrial light fixtures and the staff was very nice.
Jack Evans
Very good food, they quite literally have one of the best burgers I've eaten. Extensive draught list. Other dishes are good, I especially prefer the mozzarella appetizer. A long wait time to sit down and moderate wait time for food when it's busy. Reservations recommended, but not needed as you can always put your name in and walk around church Street.
Blair Wolston
Dined at 9:30pm so we could get a table without a wait on a friday night. Burger was cooked perfectly! You definitely pay to play in this joint but it is a nice splurge and aside from the extremely loud table on the other side of the dining room it was a nice ambiance. Incredibly attentive server, delicious cocktails, many beers to choose from. Will be back!
Guensley Delva
Great time. Delicious wings. Scrumptious burger. Great draft options. Waited for a table while at the bar. Super convenient. Very accommodating staff. Will be back during my next visit to Burlington. Lovely gem. Fun times.
Jim
Table of 6, everyone 100% satisfied. Best onion rings we've ever had. Excellent craft beer selection. Burgers very delicious. I don't like beets, the "red flannel" hash had beets in it and it was done so well I loved it!
Kelt Wilska
Food is quite good, but also quite pricey, and I feel they could be more creative with their cuisine if they are going to charge that much. We have also had some negative wait staff experiences in the past, with our most recent server being abrupt, impatient, and not talkative. We were worried that it was because we weren't ordering enough food due to the price.
Alvaro Correa
One of the best hamburger in any place. Well designed restaurant with good vibe. Service is quick and friendly.
Presentation of the burger is clean and organized. Flavors are almost worth to drive all the way from Connecticut. Every time I get here we have to go back.
Will go back.
Melissa Hayes
High-quality food but indifferent service and an uncomfortable atmosphere mean that I give this place only three stars. I appreciate the farm-to-table ingredients and the attention to detail expressed in the food itself: my husband had the salmon which was precisely cooked and plated with a superb pesto. My Resurrection salad was brimming with fresh vegetables and a great vinaigrette, although it lacked a savory component to balance the sweetness of the beets against the comparatively bland cucumber and bitter arugula. I asked to have feta added which brought the salad together wonderfully. So although the food was everything it promised to be, we were seated in what amounted to an alley through which multiple diners were being led to tables at the back, so we had non-stop traffic of diners and servers passing our table. The wire table was wobbly on the brick pavers and we asked for a shim to level it: our server found one from a previous seating but it wasn't sufficient, so she said she would find another oneshe must have forgotten because it never materialized and I ended up shoving a folded napkin beneath the table leg. Our server also failed to offer to refill our water glasses, despite passing by us several times as she took care of others in her section. For the price of the food I would expect a little more attention to the whole experience: farm-to-table usually implies that the ownership cares not only about an ethical food policy but also about making the entire dining "event" something more than just eating in a place that isn't your kitchen. Resuming service after the pandemic restrictions shouldn't mean skimping on anything just to fill whatever tables are permitted ... So, again, although the food was lovely and well-crafted, the allover experience was disappointing.
haitham abdelhalim
I loved it . Food was amazing and the place we in a very good location as well . The manger and the waiter did an amazing job . You must go there
Alexander Telosa
The staff are very welcoming. Reservations can be a bit tough to get but it's worth the wait. Food is so tasty and the old fashioned cocktail is A+!
Colette Clarke
Delicious dinner, fresh and tasty. Loved the heirloom tomato salad and the salmon. Great beverage selections too. Would love to go back!

Food was good, beer selection was great!

Awesome beer and cider. Great service. Lunch was delicious (the maple rosemary nuts are a must)

We stopped here a few times on our trip, afternoon drinks, end of the night drinks and brunch, the food is good, the draft list is great lots of options from Vermon breweries along with other great craft beers to select from. The staff was nice and helpful. I got the waffles for brunch and they were fantastic, I would definitely get a side of bacon because it was some of the best bacon I've had. My girlfriend got the breakfast plate and said it was also delicious

Arrived early went down stairs to a cool bar. Good house wines and nice cocktails. Ordered an app very nice. Wife Ordered mac n cheese and chuck roast for me. Wife didn't like mac too much bread crumbs on top and roast was very tough and dry. Not impressed with entrees. We were treated very nice they comp the mac dinner. A little pricey but Would give them another try.

Great service, cool atmosphere, great food and beer selection. We each ordered one lunch menu item with the intention to share. I got a salad and my boyfriend got the man and cheese. They actually brought 4 plates with each half portion arranged beautifully as if we had both ordered two things! That kind of service doesn't happen just anywhere.

Nice selection of seasonal and local fair although the execution is lacking. The burger was extremely oversalted and unevenly seasoned. Chocolate Stout cake was poorly mixed and unevenly baked but mostly overbaked. However, the side salad and fries were perfect and the service was outstanding. I would be willing to try this place again but only if I already lived in the area.

Had a great lunch! Window seat was just the right amount of sun on a nice sunny afternoon in the winter. Lots of booths if you like something a little more cushiony on your hiney! Wait staff was professional and food was served promptly. Meal was delicious. I'd give it 3.5 out of 5 for price, with 5 being very pricey. Beer selection could have been more local, but good selection overall.

Very good farmhouse style pub. The only reason I'm not rating it higher is because it's so darn popular that it's crazy busy and crowded and a bit pricey. But that's what happens with a good restaurant with an excellent local beer selection. Vermont has so many great micro brews these days and this place does a good job representing them. I'm just upset that they were hiding some cans of Heddy Topper and didn't tell me about it when I asked for Hill Farmstead brews. That brewery is still well represented also, though. Food is excellent and fresh. Very well prepared. A bit slow from the kitchen, but there again - to be expected. Great outdoor patio area for a nice evening or even lunch.

Worth the wait to get seated. Delicious meats - both the LaPlatte Angus farm burger and the Bratwurst were excellent - paired with fresh and exciting vegetables and a craft beer selection that left nothing to wish for. Busy place, great service, will return!

A bit of a wait, no reservations, but an efficient process at the door. Able to walk around town and get a text with 10 minutes to return. Great service, wonderful recommendations, and our group of 5 was very content.

Super cute restaurant. Very very nice staff. We came for lunch one day and then brunch the next day! Everything was extremely tasty. The beer and cider list is large and delightful. Would definitely come back when I'm next in town.

Very nice and classy place to eat. I was a little dressed down and had to get the bus girls attention to get a waiter/waitress to finally acknowledge my table. A shame since I got wonderful hostess service. Other than that, once a waiter had greeted my table all services was great along with the food.

I'm usually more for wine or cocktails but Farmhouse has exceptional beer. Everything we ordered (and we were a large group of 20) was delicious and interesting. You can also get the famed Heady Topper here if that's on your beer bucket list. The thing that stood out besides the quality of the beer was the attitude of the staff who were very down to earth and attentive. They'll of course let you patiently try anything out before you commit to your order and their raw bar was good as well. While the crudo I ordered was solid, I was pleasantly surprised by how good the oysters were. This is a great cozy place to go with family or friends and share a pint and try something new.

The food was great. I love that they offer the option of getting the burgers on kale rather than a bun. Did feel a bit nickel and died with a $0.95 up charge for it, but...whatever. My son said the Mac & cheese was amazing. He would know, Mac & cheese has been his "go to" for most 19 years.

Beer selection: 5 Star
Food: 3 Star
If you are looking for decent food and craft beer, look no further. A solid draft list and extensive bottle list will keep your thirst at bay. If there is a wait for your table, the parlor in the bakery has a fantastic dark and cozy atmosphere. The food was delicious. The meatloaf was good however not good enough to warrant the price. The Mac & cheese on the other hand was rich and creamy but under seasoned and still left a little something to be desired. It could have done with a little ham or bacon in it (or at least the option to do so). I will definitely be back though.

The burger was tasty and so were the mussels. Same with the onion rings and the beer we had. Honestly, nothing to complain about here. Plenty of food options and a great craft beer list. Can’t go wrong.
Joshua Rider
Food was good (some a bit too salty, but burger was very good) with a very good beer selection. Was a bit stressful in the free-for-all downstairs when we wanted to dine; definitely feels like overflow when you can’t get in upstairs. Call ahead!

Today I was absolutely CRAVING oysters. Ive never been to Farmhouse but the menu looked amazing so I headed that way. I sat at the bar and my bartender was lovely. I ordered my oysters and another item off the menu and was terribly excited for them.
I got them and, while delicious, there were a lot of shells, which can be very off putting. I had a dozen and absolutely hate to complain as I'm also in the industry. She asked if everything was ok and I explained the problem. She immediately apologized, genuinely, and explained that they had some new people on and thanked me over and over for bringing this to their attention. She asked if I would give it another try with someone else preparing them and I agreed.
The next batch were prepared quickly and they were absolutely AMAZING.
This alone was 100% spot on customer service, but on top of all of it, she didn't charge me for any of the oysters and when I tried to offer to pay for them her response was simply "We strive to get it right the first time."
Do yourself a huge favor and visit The Farmhouse as soon as you can.

We heard of this place as a "decent" place to go so we stopped in. The look is upscale however the atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Make sure to get a Heady topper and drink from the can along with having the best burger youll ever have! I wish I was more hungry but the blue cheese burger is simply the best burger Ive ever had. Cant wait to go back!

Great place to eat. Food is delicious and the staff is super friendly.

Whew, this was a great way to experience Vermont cuisine. Fast, friendly service (the parlor downstairs is great for waiting for a table, btw). We ordered the cornbread, which tasted like dessert with the apple/honey butter. We both ordered burgers, too (one pork burger and one beef). Both were assembled well and had great flavor. We also ordered the maple cheesecake to go, and that too was rich, flavorful, and well done.
The food is great, and the local beer selection seems to be top notch for the area. Definitely recommend it!

After touring UVM we were tired and hungry and wanted a relaxing environment and a great meal, we got it! The staff were really polite and attentive, we were curious about the local fare and our waitress was knowledgeable and helpful. The house Pinot Grigio was perfect, the onion rings were meaty and not greasy, the burger was thick but still managed to melt in your mouth, the salad was crisp and just the right size along with crunchy pickles. The home made sauces boosted all the flavors. It was all so satisfying. We will be back for sure!
LUSCIOUS LUMBERJACK
Great beer, cider, and wine list. The portions were good, and the food was quite tasty. Nice atmosphere and great service. Prices were just a bit on the steep side, but what do you expect down town. I will certainly be going back.

Wow! This place was great! I came here on a trip to Vermont, and this was a major highlight. The burgers were delicious, service was great, and the waiters and waitresses were all very nice and super friendly. You won't regret coming!

Visiting from out of state and decided to give this a try. I have to say some of the reviews made me think twice and to me at least photos in the reviews were not flattering. I was very pleasantly surprised. My dinner was bursting with flavor and cooked perfectly. It was late and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant which may have helped my attentive service and food preparation.

Solid beer selection, including many great locals (highly recommend the Edward and the Susan by Hill Farmstead). Attentive service by knowledgeable staff. Enjoyed perfectly cooked medium rare Angus beef burger with side salad. Sat at bar (traveling solo for work) but the outdoor deck/patio and downstairs bar looked inviting. Next time!

Visited Burlington for the 1st time from Nevada when we thought we'd give this place a try, and I'm glad we did! Definitely the best burger I've ever had and it went perfectly with the local soda I was given. The service was phenomenal as well. Would recommend to anyone visiting Burlington

Amazing service, a beautiful dining room, and the best burgers ever!

We found this restaurant during our trip to Vermont for the Vermont Brewers Festival. The place was nice, food was delicious, and the beer selection was amazing. We loved it so much we went back for dinner both nights we were in Burlington. The beef burger was my favorite. And their house made condiments were on point.
Steph Miles
Cozy and courteous - gets busy! It’s got a little pub vibe to it, if you go to the bar downstairs. The beer selection is on point - there’s a lot of craft beer to choose from in this area! Their burgers have always been delicious.
Nate “Baron” Peters
We went for some afternoon oysters and wine upon arriving to Burlington on a nice winter day. The place was packed early afternoon, so we sat at the bar. The oysters were great. The wine selection was ok. I was not impressed with the service, but I expected as much visiting a college town and tourist city.
Luke Huber
Hamburgers are fantastic but a little on the pricey side. Most likely will be a decent wait time, but there is a cool lounge and bar area downstairs that you can wait at until your buzzer goes off. Definitely worth a visit while in town.
Thomas Wingate
Ok place, kinda blah. Beer list could be improved, they have many rare brews, but very over price. Fish and chips tasty but not worth $19, it's about half the fish at almost everywhere else
Mike Habberfield
Fantastic service, atmosphere, food and drink! Front and back patios and a biergarten. Sam was particularly friendly and generous. Server successfully helped my friend with diet restrictions. Food is a little pricey, but that's what you pay for high quality.

There was a small issue with my food while dining here last year. The staff went above and beyond to make it a good experience. I can't recommend them enough. The food was otherwise delicious and well made.

Just went to the farmhouse for the second time and I was sad to see the corn bread was off the menu, that was one if the most epic corn breads... ever. On the plus side, we showed up very early so the place wasn't too busy yet and the service was mega efficient. The food was solid all around but knocking off a star for value. I haven't seen a cup of soup that small since I was in grade school and the locally made sausage patty in my $3.50 breakfast sandwich this morning from the market two blocks away was bigger than the slice of meatloaf in the $26 entree. I love a good omakase as much as a good meatloaf so I'm not necessarily a quantity over quality kind of diner but serving an unmemorable slice of meatloaf the size of a slice of pepperidge farm white bread is just getting too precious.

Seriously the greatest waffle i ever ate in my life ! Truly amazing! The brunch menu is pretty small due to covid but everything they have is delecious. Great service as well ! Def worth checking out if your in the area
