Reviews of Red Panda

Really glad to have found this place in the heart of Burlington. It’s good to see so many Himalayan restaurants popping all over Vermont. Momos
and Nepalese delicacies are finally getting their recognition.
Red Panda definitely does justice to Himalayan flavors. Ambience and service both are great. Church street vibes add extra glamour to this wonderful place. Cheers to all the friendly people out there.

Great local Indian/Nepalese food place. Staff is very friendly. Ample indoor seating.
Came here for late lunch. Ordered 2 curry dishes and naan. Food is very flavorful and tasty. Almost can taste individual spices. Naan is cooked perfectly.
Price is reasonable for downtown location.
Street parking is available near the restaurant.
Can be crowded on weekends.
Sabrina Lichon Bennett
Excellent food! Small portions but very tasty. Highly recommend the butter chicken and tandoori chicken. Great flavors and the chicken was very tender. The garlic naan was amazing as well and came out fresh. Great for soaking up all the extra sauce. Definitely will be making a return trip.

You have to give this spot a try if you come to Burlington. Im vegetarian so there’s a ton of options here. Probably the most flavorful food I had during my stay in the city. I believe the cooking is Nepali, so its Indian/Asian. The Biryani and wraps were outstanding. They even accommodated me Thai tea when I asked!
Highly recommended!
Isha Chaknalwar
Great indian food. The restaurant was clean and friendly staff. Recommend going early or reserving a table as restaurant got packed really fast at dinner time.

I'm always thrilled when I have any excuse to come to Burlington, because it means I can pop in to Red Panda and pick up some of the best Chili Momos in New England.
Michael Chen
Visited Burlington over the 4th of July long weekend and saw the glowing reviews at Red Panda. We arrived for a late lunch around 2pm and it was mostly empty inside as it was rather warm to eat outside.
Overall I'm a fan of this place. the Goat Curry is super delicious and portion size is generous. The Vindaloo is a bit too sour though with the spice, the meat was tender but just wished the sauce was a little more mild. They did ask for spice level but wasn't aware it was bit sour too.
The chicken momo was pretty good but I didn't like how hard the dough skins were I guess I was more used to the softer Chinese dumpling skins. However they tasted great and I liked how the chili complemented it.
The service was excellent as the staff were really friendly and accommodating. Its definitely a good place if you wanted to give a Nepalese food a try here :)

Amazing food. I ordered the butter chicken with extra spicy since I love spicy food and with that garlic naan and mango lassi. It was finger licking delicious. Absolutely recommend this place if you are looking for some authentic flavorful food. And of course the staffs were very friendly. Will definitely come back again to try other foods like C momo and chow mein.

I am from NY, have been there last weekend with my family and the food was really good, very good atmosphere inside for dine-in. We had lamb biriyani, cauliflower 65, beef momo, and veg samosa all were so delicious….. I must say it is one of the best restaurant in the city…….
kevin buckley
Excellent food, very spicy if you ask for it that way and mild if you don’t… you can tell everything is made by hand with care. Our favorite lunch spot in Burlington.
Randy Abair
Probably the best Nepali food around and their takeout game is among the best for restaurants in the area of all types. Very affordable, flavorful and a lot of variety available.
Belen M
Excellent food and service. Every time I go there I try to order a different item from the menu and it is always delicious! I highly recommend this place -chicken vindaloo is my favorite.
I saw another review that says portions are too small but I disagree, they are just right and not different from other restaurants that serve similar style food.
court.
Fantastic. My husband and I came here and everything we ordered tasted amazing. The yellow lentil daal soup was very flavorful and had some spice. Delicious. I drank my mango lassi in thirty seconds, it was so good lol. Def recommend this place. Also lots of vegetarian options which is a plus
Alura G
Fantastic! We had chicken dumplings and chicken pakora as a light lunch. It was the perfect amount of food for price.
I tried the masala tea for the first time and it's amazing! Reminds me of chai, but not as spicy. My husband had the Sherpa tea (some call it buttermilk tea) and was not a fan lol and neither was I, but it was a great experience. The Pakora was my favorite; probably because it's fried haha
Zachary Hubbell
The momo (Nepalese dumplings) were the highlight! Delicious. Friendly service. Clean.

I am so thrilled about this great restaurant. This is truly a Gold Place. Ever since it opened I have been hearing so many great things about this place. I had to go and try it.
I was extremely impressed with everything. The cuisine is absolutely mind blowing. The food is very favorable.
The Buttered Naan is great. Grilled Tandoori Chicken is cooked perfectly. The dumplings are very juicy and mouth watering! This magical place makes sure the food is top quality and its all locally organic food. You can definitely tell that the food is the very best and at the same time a reasonable price. The dazzling cauliflower and the grilled Hariyali kabab is prepared in just the right temperature that the food is like an ART. The texture of the food is so delightful inside my mouth. The food is like no where I have ever eaten before.
I have personally been to many different indian restaurants around the country but I have to say this restaurant is One of the Best if not the Absolute Best.
I also salute the wonderful Host and all the staff. There service was absolutely the Greatest. They really have a great customer service. They make sure to treat you more than a guest! They take really good care. They are also very attentive. They really got my attention! They were quick to place me in a available sitting area. Took my orders in and served me very quickly. At the time I was there with a group of 12 people. Even though we were such a large group we all got served on time and all of us were just amazed at how we were assigned two very experienced waitress just for OUR table! The owner made sure we got the best quality and we absolutely did!!!
From the ethnic Nepalese and Indian food to the welcoming and accommodating culture we really got to experience what it meant to eat in a Top Place.
I promise to be back very soon. In the mean time, I have been enjoying with the deliveries. They are absolutely Perfect!
Rusdianto Mahmud
Place is dark, food is average. It says halal but they sell pork dumpling?
Sherpa Achung
Fantastic. My girlfriend and I came here and everything we ordered tasted amazing. The yellow lentil daal soup was very flavorful and had some spice. Delicious. I drank my mango lassi in thirty seconds, it was so good lol. Def recommend this place. Also lots of vegetarian options which is a plus
Kelt Wilska
Really tasty. Love the blend of different cuisines. We got sesame naan, coconut curry chicken, and a spicy mixed chow mein. Good portion sizes. Only piece of constructive criticism is about the wait time. Was told our order would take 40 minutes, but I got there 10 minutes late and was told that the order was still 10 minutes out, with very few other customers waiting. Look forward to exploring other parts of the menu next time!
Ryan Le Blanc
Standard indian fare with all of the usual choices. Chicken Tikka was great. They made it wicked spicy as requested without sacrificing the flavor of the dish. They don't skimp on the meat as a lot of other joints do. Naan was hot and delicious.
superheldin
Loved every dish we tried. Had the okra masala, dal soup, vegetarian samosa, naan. All super delicious. Especially liked that the food was not oily. Especially the okra tends to be often oily in other places. This one was different. Loved it and graving for more. Great food. Very friendly staff too.
Sayem Shah
We went for a lunch today at this place. Foods are delicious.
Alain Brunet
Not busy when we went. Good food. Affordable
Nima sherpa
The food is amazing and the menu is huge! They have everything you could want. There's always a table and the people who work there are lovely. We eat there all the time! ........
Abhishek Baidyaroy
Starting with the staff, I felt they're understaffed. Probably because I visited during a long weekend and the place was completely full, with 2-3 people attending the tables.
Food is really good, except for the dumplings/ momos which were frozen ( they're Himalayan momos, sold in the frozen section in a lot of stores). That was probably the only downside. Thukpa was awesome, the way I had it in Nepal.
Also remember if they say it's spicy, it is spicy. Don't underestimate it.

Food: I asked for a few items on the menu to be told they didn’t have them, ok were they out or no longer carried? no explanation given. I ordered the lamb vindaloo and it was very hot (FYI ordered medium) but delicious! The potatoes and lamb were great but it was the smallest portion I have ever encountered at an Indian/Nepalese restaurant. It was a small cereal bowls worth at best and this was the dinner portion. I also ordered the sweet rice and again it was like a child’s serving size. Service: not one main server helped us which meant items were forgot, had to wave down anyone passing to order more or ask questions. It also made the items I ordered to take a longtime to come out. The restaurant wasn’t full either but there were a lot of to-go orders being packaged.
Evan Doubleday
Fantastic food. Best Indian food by far within 100 miles, I went with a group of friends the first week they opened and we were blown away by how great everything was, I’ve been back three separate times since then. The chicken wings are sneaky good. The owner is really nice and it’s an extremely affordable price. One suggestion: outdoor seating in the summer would be cool. highly recommend.
Hala Williams
It is a nice addition to Burlington if you like to try, like my family, different cuisines from around the world. We dined there a few times and every time we try something new and share the dishes so we can all have a test of different plates, we haven’t been disappointed at all, everything so far is so flavorful and delicious!! The Butter Chicken and the Biryani rice dishes are some of our favorites. Make sure you let them know how much spice you like as mild is little spicy so if you don’t like spicy food then request « no spice ». The staff are very friendly.
Willow Hecht
The food is amazing and the menu is huge! They have everything you could want. There's always a table and the people who work there are lovely. We eat there all the time! Willow & Hans
Morgan Russell
Delicious food (paneer Tikka masala is my favourite!), and very friendly staff. Went with some friends and forgot to ask the host to split our checks individually at the beginning. He took the time to split it up after the fact, even though they had a line out the door for pick/up delivery, and re-ringing an entire large order can be a pain.
Kristina Reynolds
The food here is amazing. I had the chicken Thali and it was a great way to try everything. The garlic naan had beautiful garlic and fresh cilantro and was chewy perfection. The Aloo Gabi were little balls of cardamom spiced delight! I think this is the best Indian in Vermont and I've been to them all. The spices, the quality, just perfect!!!
Syamprasad K R
Easily the best Indian restaurant in Burlington area. The food is authentic, fresh and tastes good. As someone who grew up in India, I have been struggling to find good Indian food in the area.
I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to try good quality authentic Indian food without having to drive down to New Hampshire or Massachusetts.
The owner and the staff are excellent at customer service. While I was looking at the menu posted outside, the owner came out and started a conversation. Very friendly people. I hope they find great success!!
Sriranjini K
Nice place . Food was descent. but if you are expecting food to be spicy Indian food then You would be disappointed . Food is very bland. We ordered dal free it was bland. We ordered chicken kadai after checking that it was spicy one . It turned out to be having sweet flavour.
Mohit Goyal
Lots of variety for vegetarians! Paneer Roll, Cauliflower 65 and the Momos didn't disappoint. Fried rice was okay, could do with a bit more flavor. Definitely worth a visit if you are in Burlington and craving some Nepali/Indian food.
XXX OOO
Most of the items on the menu are okay but things like lamb seekh Kabab and Tandoori chicken which are Authentic Indian dishes are not made well. The lamb seekh Kabab has tomato puree in it for some reason and then the Tandoori chicken which is supposed to be dry looks like it's made in some sort of Curry. Unfortunately in Vermont the Indian/Nepali restaurants are not the best and don't know how to make authentic Indian food. The two items I mentioned are the most expensive on the menu and I feel like I wasted my money. I frequently order from here so I never know what I'm going to get. One time I ordered lamb saag and it was stale. I have ordered the dumplings/momos and those are good. The lentils are good and the vegetables are good. I would not waste my money again on any authentic meat dishes. It's not that hard to make authentic Indian dishes oh, and dear restaurant, you can easily Google them and see what they're supposed to look like.
Jessica Carle
I tried this place last night and it was incredible.
The vegetable MoMos were the best dumplings I've ever had, the sauce was the perfect complement.
And the Naan was so fresh and delicate, it was worth the 6 hour drive to Burlington, just for this place.
nak Singma
The chicken momos (dumplings) here are fabulous. Great lamb biriyani, goat curry, and garlic naan too! Slightly on the pricier side but worth it. Also, if you like "Indian subcontinent spicy", you'll love this place!!
Marna Ehrech
Had the chicken coconut curry, it was out of this world! And enough to take half home for breakfast the next day. Their "hot" was pretty hot, as witnessed my my son's meal, but mine, a "medium" could have been hotter... But only 3 speeds on their spice scale. BYOB until they get their liquor license. Great service.
heather kostrna
Pretty good Tikka massage. Good prices and right in downtown Burlington.
Peter Pelaia
Hands down the best Indian food we've found in Vermont! It is even better than the places we used to frequent when living in NYC. If you like flavorful food that also happens to be vegetarian and vegan friendly don't miss out. Plus the staff and owners are super friendly and really care about their customers. I hope this becomes a Church St. area mainstay, definitely check it out!
Ad Ban
I'm so glad that we checked out this gem! Popped in for lunch here and had a great dinning experience. The curries were great, lots of flavor, good amount of spice and generous portions. The naan was fresh and delicious. The service was also great!
Michael “The Machine” Shor
I haven't been here a lot, but generally the food that I've had is very nice. Comfortable friendly atmosphere. I was a little disappointed though that during covet, when I went to pick up food, they didn't let me use the restroom. I still like the establishment though, and would generally recommend it. If they had seating available, I would definitely frequent it.
Chava Ryan
I was out for a walk on Church Street, looking for a place to stop in for a meal, when Dan, one of the owners, came out and greeted me. We had an enjoyable conversation about their food - including their halal meat supplier. His genuine disposition (and the promise of good Indian food!) won me over, and I decided to step in and have dinner. The warm interior decor was roomy and welcoming, the lighting was at just the right brightness for my sensitive eyes, and the eclectic mix of Indian music provided an enjoyable background. I had a difficult time choosing from their wide selection of vegetarian and vegan friendly options, but settled on vegetarian samosas, chana masala and masala tea. The food came out promptly, and I was very pleased both with the presentation and the taste. The samosas (two per plate) were crispy on the outside, coated with a liberal sprinkling of spices, and filled with a flavorful mixture of potatoes and peas. The chana masala came in a fancy dish with a bowl of rice on the side. It was so flavorful I cried! I could not eat it all, but I took it home to finish the next day. I ordered another masala tea to go in place of a dessert :) I would HIGHLY recommend that you come with an appetite - the prices are good and the portions are generous. I cannot stress it enough: do NOT pass up this fantastic new joint!

100% delicious coconut chicken curry...thank y'all

Chicken Korma and Butter Chicken.
Excellent taste and quality. Restaurants require reservations but just walked around and found this place. Definition of small business that needs support and glad to help.
Mark Binkhorst
Love this new find on lower Church St.
Super glad to finally have a restaurant of this quality here in Burlington and not have to go to Boston or New York to eat delicious Nepali/Indian food!
Food is fresh, well spiced and leaves one feeling sated.
Can't wait to go back and try something else on their extensive menu.
The momos are a must.
Sarthak Chatterjee
The chicken momos (dumplings) here are fabulous. Great lamb biriyani, goat curry, and garlic naan too! Slightly on the pricier side but worth it. Also, if you like "Indian subcontinent spicy", you'll love this place!
neha koshti
Great hidden gem in Burlington! Food was tasty and authentic. We ordered some appetizers, dal, and bhindi masala and it was all good, (dal could have been better). Staff is kind and it’s overall a well managed restaurant.
Michael Williams
We stopped in on a whim for lunch and I am glad we did! The spicy food was an excellent counterpoint to the chili December weather. the place is cute, the atmosphere is lovely, but the food was an ever-expanding horizon of deliciousness.
John McNeil
Not quite Indian, Red Panda is the best Nepali food in Burlington. All the normal Indian items are on the menu but real draw for me is the lamb curry and Nepalese soups.
D R
The goat korma is so good! The dumplings were amazing, the sauce that came with them is to die for! A little pricey but they are downtown Burlington. Good service and atmosphere.
Cyrus
I was there with my friends for dinner, and the food was amazing as well as the service. Highly recommended this place.....
Starr St James
I got the malai chicken curry and the paneer tikka - things composed of familiar ingredients, but dishes I had never tried before. Oh my gosh were they freakin awesome. The Malai curry was new to me, and so delicious. I would describe it as spicy but not “hot” spicy - just really vibrant with spice flavors (some of which are lingering in my mouth as I write this after eating leftovers). No burn, just beautiful layers of flavor. And the paneer tikka (which comes with the marinated grilled paneer, onions and peppers but doesn’t come with its own side of rice) was the perfect answer to how I always want some paneer with whatever curry I get. Seriously delicious, people.
Bishow Dauliya
Goat curry was delicious. Chicken samosa was dry. A bit overpriced for a Naan.
Soham S. More
We ordered dumplings, chicken chowmein and drums of heaven / chicken lollipop. Hands down the best Indo-Chinese food I ever had in the states and one of the best overall!
Saswati Alakananda
Food was good but service was too slow. I would suggest takeout.
ranvel
Probably one of the best places to grab a bite to eat on Church street. If you ask for the "extra spicy" preparation, they really give it to you. 😅😅😅 …
J C
Best lamb biryani and mango lassis. Yum! Delivery is always super hot and fresh. Love this place and glad they deliver outside of Burlington.
Danielle Hammond
Food was amazing, service not so great... They didn't divide the check as we asked and then messed up our order... So if you get food from there I suggest takeout, because the food is really really good but just not great service it seems
Stephanie Mcneill
The restaurant is amazing, their curry is the best in town. Bathrooms are always clean, the environment is warm and friendly. Would recommend for family dinners/ dates etc. great staff and service!!
John Depaula
Our table was set for service with a dirty table cloth. 14 bucks for lunch was a little steep but food was ok. Bread was very good. The two of us were served at different times so that was awkward. Not much else to say.
Amit Asthana
Food is good. Taste is good but honest opinion is that quantity is less as compared to price. They should increase the quantity of the dishes that they serve .Chicken Tikka Masala is good. Chilli Chicken is good.Goat Curry is very very good.
NOBLE MONGER
All staffs are very friendly, interiors decoration management are beautiful plus foods are delicious too. I highly recommended “Red Panda” restaurant in downtown Burlington site. Definately, I’ll come back again.
Rachel Lantow
Great food! We had the chicken pakora, spicy pork momos, and lamb korma. So satisfying.
James Bowen
Nothing but great things to say about the food! We got the veg pakora, veg biryani, and the tandoori chicken malai. Very tasty and would go back. Only negative was that service was slow, not bad service, but slow and required flagging people down if you needed anything.
Dhimiter Kondili
The food is delicious, however they still need to iron out some service issues. The food just takes too long to get to the table and we were the only customers there at the time on two separate occasions. I can only wonder what it's like when they are at half capacity. The portions vary from small to surprisingly large.
Emily Glick
This place has what Burlington has been missing: authentic Indian food with a rich flavors and spices at an excellent price. This is my friends' and families' new favorite go to place.
shantanu wagh
The proper taste of indo-chinese and nepali cuisine. When they say it's hot, you better believe they ain't lying. But it's absolutely delicious at the same time.
407 Driver
Lackluster, rather bland. Samosas, Saag Paneer. Vindaloo, Kormas, none of it was all that great. Passable, but nothing near the real deal that can be had elsewhere. I would not order from here again.
Prati Lama
You don’t have to wait too long for your order. Very authentic, delicious food. The greater Burlington is full of diversity. Obviously customer service is extraordinary, keep it up guys you’ll rock one-day!!!
Charlie Choiniere
Awesome food, especially considering they just opened. I'll definitely be back. The curries had lots of flavor and he tandoori chicken was outstanding!
Zoran Bjelic
Fantastic, super nice staff. Could not ask for better all around experience.
Jonathon Ling
Best Tika Massala I've had in years. The naan was a bit fluffy. Excellent mango lassi. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.
Alexander Marohnic
Excellent chicken curry, meat cooked perfectly and dish was spiced to perfection as well. Service was fast and courteous as well. Definitely recommend.
Kleber Lopes
Nicest food in town, happy with the customer service and food is so delicious, specially lamb biriyani is fav from there.
Aayudh Das
The best Indian food of Burlington! Guys please try Chicken Biriyani and panner tikka masala! Owner Dan is a gentleman! We love to visit red panda more often!
Mieneke Maher
Had heard through the grapevine that it was good and they did not disappoint. Food was hot, very tasty and well presented. Found it to be a bit expensive but they are downtown. The value of the food was worth it.
A B
Food was okay. Had ordered chicken kadhai, samosa chat and veg dumplings. Chai was horrible, it was full of milk with tea bag dipped.
Amar Nath
If you have already tasted Indian food in India then go for the spiciest food, never go for medium or mild spice.
Noah Gootkind
Get the Chili MoMo, its so good!
Sonia Darrow
Best Indian in town? Been a half dozen times and never disappointed. If you order hot they'll make it hot. Friendly service
Lila Rees
Food was excellent. Server was great. Got the goat lunch special, dumplings and a mango lassi. Look forward to trying more items!

The food here was sooooo good! If I want Indian food, I go straight to Red Panda because they're the absolute best in town. The service is amazing and food even better!!!
Mark Hoeft
Better than any Indian I’ve had in Boston.
Abhishek Davuluri
If you are in a mood of spicy food on a winter evening. Go with lamb vindaloo(medium spicy) with butter naan or garlic naan. Also, Honorable mention - beef dumplings.
Michael Coggin-Carr
Just wanted to write a review because we tried another place in Burlington for a curry and it made me realise how great you guys are... best tandoori in Burlington

The food is good but the portion size is absurdly small ( and my usual portions are small )

Our go-to fast food guilty pleasure whenever we don’t want to cook at home. Love their coconut curry, naan, and lollipop chicken! Their chicken dumplings are also delicious. Fast prep and delivery
Edit: The most recent order was not great and so I have to remove a star. The coconut curry wasn’t strained as there were whole ginger and star anise - not pleasant to chew on. Naan was super dry also.
