Reviews of Pascolo Ristorante

1 st time and it was good. Nothing special but fine. We sat outside in the warm weather but the interior is pretty unique & we look forward to experiencing it in cooler months. Pasta was fine, caesar was great, and I just think there's a lot of better wood fired pizzas around Burlington. So happy they have house red and white wines. Nobody seems to do this anymore. Easy and affordable.

This restaurant exceeded expectations, the service was great, they were so nice and attentive, the atmosphere was beautiful and elegant but the food OMG the food was excellent. Everything came out quickly and it was hot and delicious. This place is 3 hours from my hometown but I will make it a purpose to visit at least once a yr, especially with the atmosphere around Main st Burlington and waterfront park which both are beautiful. I can't say enough about this place and we're restaurant people!

The BEST Italian meal I've had (other than my wife's Sicilian grandmother's) 😁. Everything was excellent! The calamari was light golden brown and tender. We also got marinated olives 😋. For entrees we had chicken marsala with polenta, and gnocchi with Italian sausage. The pasta is homemade and excellent! We also got a side of meatballs. Tasted like the ones my wife makes. Sauce is not overpowering and the meatballs were tender, not a hard ball of meat.
Marissa was our server. She was very friendly and kept checking back on us.
If you're in Burlington and want outstanding Italian food, you need to go to Pascolo!

Pascolo's in Burlington is definitely the best Italian food that I've had in Vermont. Not by a little, but by Giant amount.
Plus, the people that work here are super friendly.
If you haven't eaten here, just stop being stupid and make a reservation right now.
Our waitress, Anna, was super friendly and very knowledgeable about the food and offered opinions because she eats the food regularly. I asked her to make a couple of choices for what ways to take the food and everything was incredible.
She also offered alternatives based on hearing what we were discussing about what was offered. I couldn't have asked for better service.
The prices are medium to high but for the quality of food that you're getting, as well as the portions, you are not going to be disappointed.
The atmosphere of the restaurant is really nice as well. I'm not a big fan of being right by the kitchen but some people like that.
It's a beautiful, sprawling, lower level layout and I loved every bit of it.

It is hit or miss on some of the menu items. The calamari was a 10/10 one day, but maybe a 6/10 on the next two visits. It has a professional and clean atmosphere with overall better quality food than most Italian restaurants in Burlington.

I experienced this restaurant on a Wednesday night, being in town unexpectedly for a work related task. It was relatively busy, especially at the bar, where I ate, being a single person. The food was really good, just shy of being great, the wine by the glass was good but overpriced. The Pistachio gelato was absolutely out of this world. And the Tiramisu I took home for later was outstanding too.
When I was first seated there were two servers behind the bar and I was greeted and initial service and food ordering was done promptly and in a friendly manner. Then one of the servers left for other assigned tasks and the remaining younger server couldn't keep up. I waited over 15 minutes for a refill on wine and water. Slightly more attentive service would have resulted in 5 ⭐'s

was in between several choices for the pasta and ended with the smoked mushroom pappardelle on recommendation and they did not steer me wrong. Creamy, smoky, cheesy. So tasty. I would go back and have a hard time not getting the same dish. For drink I had the whiskey and wine cocktail which is basically a New York sour and was simple yet delicious served with a large cube of ice.
I was in town on a long layover and had numerous places to choose from and I’m glad this is where I ended up. It’s worth a visit!

Went here on recommendation from a coworker. I got eggplant parmesan and a kale salad on the side. It was a good meal that like most pasta was better when reheated the next day. However, service was super slow. We got an apology for the slow service as our meals arrived but our server never updated us during the wait. I wanted to order another drink and get dessert but I was afraid it would take too long. Not worth a second visit from me but if you like Italian food it's not a bad place to try minus the wait which was hopeful just a fluke.

Avery beautiful Italian fine dining experience. We had made reservations in advance. We started off with a Von Trapp Pilsner and Ginger Ale. This was followed by Focassia with Pesto, Fried Mozzarella and Brussels Sprouts. For main course we had Pappardelle with Mushrooms and a Margherita Pizza. The grand finale was the Tiramisu. I would definitely come back to try more dishes.

Bomb housemade gnocchi. Amazing chocolate torte. Nicko is a wonderful server!
Jacob Barbato
Great stop on Church St for delicious Italian fare. Pizzas are wood fired, fresh pastas made on site, and a great selection of wines. Even some cured meats are made in house! This is a popular choice, so expect a wait.
Laurie Welch
Our group had an amazing experience. Excellent pasta & pizza! My favorite was the smoked mushroom pappardelle & funghi pizza! Service was great as well!
Came back with my husband and was blown away again between service & food. Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Went here for the most perfect date night with my girlfriend. I could not recommend this place enough for consistently excellent food and certainly will be back for more!
We started off with the Wood Fired Mussels which were absolutely impeccable. I could drink up that white wine tomato sauce.
I got the Pappardelle with Fennel Sausage and my girlfriend got the Gnocchi Alla Brava. Both were a 10/10 and really great portion sizes. Not too big but also not too small. Loved how heavily sauced the pappardelle was and the fresh noodles were delicious. The fried sage was an excellent touch.
Drinks were incredible as well. Great wine selection which is also reasonably priced along with some tasty cocktails. I got the Chianti and then followed that with a Paper Planes. Highly recommend both!
Decided to do the unusual and go for a dessert as well and that was the perfect choice. If you're a fan of gelato, do yourself a favor and get the pistachio gelato. Perfect way to end the meal.
Can't wait to come back and try more!

Pascolo has been a very important & nostalgic restaurant for me since moving to Burlington in 2013. My partner and I also went on our 1st date there 5 years ago. (So, disclaimer, this review is partially influenced by that nostalgia)
We tried the new location last week, and frankly, it’s just not the same. It lacks the warmth and coziness of the old spot. We waited over an hour for a table for 2, and when we went back to check in, the host was unable to find our information. We had been forgotten. (Fine, it’s busy, it happens!) Our table was near the door, so we asked to move and the host was very accommodating. It took over an hour to get our food, the staff were spread very thin and you could tell they were working out the kinks of just reopening. (No biggie, very understandable!)
The first two dishes we ordered were sold out (bread and stuffed fish) so we both went for pasta dishes. To be clear, both dishes were fine, but not up to ‘old’ Pascolo standards. The pasta was clearly partially pre-cooked then flash boiled/not fresh, and the cream sauce was broken (still yummy) on my partners dish.
Again, nothing was bad, it just didn’t live up to the ‘fine-dining’ standard I was used to (And felt like we paid for $). It felt like the dishes I once knew and loved but now produced at scale and with less care. I still love Pascolo and always will, but my first experience at the new location was a bummer. Maybe I’ll give them some time to settle into the new space before trying again.

My favorite restaurant from our visit to Burlington! Visited on a Saturday evening with reservations for my wife Celiac Annie and 3yo son. You can't go wrong with the homemade pasta but I was more impressed with the gluten free options. All of the pasta dishes and/or pizzas as well as a variety of other dishes can be made gluten free. Loved all of the food we ordered including the carrots with ricotta. I have to highlight one of the drink options as well. I was blown away by the whiskey drink with red wine topper. Can't recall the name on menu and I didn't think I'd like it but it came highly recommended by our waitor and it didn't disappoint.

No words are needed! Hands down, the best italian restaurant i have visited!
The service and customer service is amazing.
David Smith
Came in for dinner. Food was outstanding. As great as the atmosphere and food was the real star was our server, Autumn. Absolutely amazing person to have. Bright cheerful and always smiling
Quimen Sanchez
Such amazing food and great service. I unfortunately had a bad experience at the Von Trap Family Lodge Resteraunt and the owners and management should read this review because it's clear example of how people should be served!
We were instantly greeted by the host with a smile and a warm welcome even were there more than likely one of there last reservations of the night. Yes we came to this resteraunt close to closing time again but because of the demand of me and my partners schedule we can only enjoy a meal at a resteraunt later in the evening.
Cat M. our server new her menu very well and tour guided us expertly and helped us choose a Cesar, and the arugula salads as our starters. And the parparadelle Al fungi and the lamb ragu with gluten free pasta as our main entree' (note I do have a small gluten allergy and minor issues with dairy Cat made some excellent suggestions and made sure the parn was put on the side).
The salads were properly dressed with the right amount of dressing and once the pasta dishes came into site you can instantly smell the delisciosness that was about to hit our pallets. Each bite was better than the last. We decided to end our meal with flourless chocolate torte. Again phenomenal. Overall the food had great flavor points and even though it was the end of the night our dishes tasted fresh unlike the horrible obviously bottom of the pot lentils I had at The Von Trap Familly lodge Dining room with what they called duck confi.
The whole dining service was simply phenomenal. Cat checked in with us at the appropriate times and found time to make pleasant conversation. She paid attention to detail and was on top of everything. Thank you to Cat. For the excellent service and thank you to the excellency kitchen staff that fed us an amazing meal that tasted probably as good as the first dish out of the night. von trap family lodge please eat here and take notes because this how you're supposed to serve and make a meal for your patrons !
Katie Dumas
I am not one to write reviews... Second time coming here food was phenomenal. However one of the runners kept reaching behind the kitchen grabbing food and eating it such as croutons ect. Then proceeded to drink her own personal drink while carrying someone's plate to their table very unprofessional the lady was wearing red framed glasses! Not impressed at all
Ginnette Dombi
The service was phenomenal, the prices were fair and the atmosphere was lovely. My date and I got the same meal but something didn't seem quite right with the chicken.. the next day my date was ill. Very disappointing.
Julie W.
Really cool little place. Can be casual or a little dressy here. With its high ceilings n and open floor plan it looks like a re-purposed bank inside, that has been decorated in a Tuscan fashion. They have the greatesttttt garlic bread and marinara I've ever had. And our negroni and cinque terre cocktails were also great. Our main dish was chicken parm and the rigatoni bolognese, also realllyyy really good. And! The complimentary bar snacks were creative and tasty! Highly recommend this place!! Wasn't too too busy and service was friendly and quick. We got drinks at the bar with the garlic bread and snacks while we waited for our togo dinners. We were there on a Thursday night, about 8pm.
Yuanyuan Feng
High-quality Italian fare with great consistency. Pastas here are house made and super delicious. Pizzas are no longer on the menu after they move to the new/current location(2023) due to lack of a wood fire oven in the kitchen.
Johnny LeHane
Make reservations a day in advance.
Focaccia was great. Calamari was light and crispy, but too salty. We enjoyed the pizza and rigatoni bolognese.
Excellent house made parpadelle, tasty gnocchi and meatballs.
Stephanie Nickles
Prosciutto and mozzarella appetizers were each amazing.
Fennel sausage pasta was one of the best pastas we have ever eaten. Definitely recommend even to picky eaters.
The chicken parmesan was tasty but you can find it anywhere.
Hannah Cohen
My parents and I had an amazing dinner at the new, beautiful location. The food was incredible, the environment was elegant and Italian, and our waitress (Annie) was charming and attentive. Thank you!
Leslie Diaz
I was not disappointed by Pascolo! My friend and I did the weekday special of 2 for $40- two appetizers and two entrees for just forty dollars. I ordered the arugula salad and the funghi pizza. Both were molto delizioso! I also recommending trying the maple breakfast stout, one of my favorites. There are a lot of options to choose from while dining at Pascolo.
Allyson Furcick
The food was absolutely phenomenal, especially the fried mozzarella. However, the service was the star of the show. The host and manager, Michael, was able to seat us in a manner of minutes and provided a space that made us feel comfortable. Our waitress was extremely attentive, even noticing that I had the incorrect knife on the table for cutting my chicken. The food came out very quickly and as mentioned, was extremely delicious. Overall, we would absolutely come back again.

OMG! 😁😳THE best Italian ristorante ever!
I had the Chicken Marsala and my husband the Chicken Parmesan. That was the UNIQUE and best dish ever. Everything perfect from the front entrance decor, welcome and the ambiance. I asked for making change on my plate and no hesitation without extra charge my plate was custom made. Between the 52 Country I visited and being in Italie 🇮🇹 many time Andrea the chef cook 👩🍳 she has a very special twist to the Marsala recipe!!!
I WILL BE BACK!!! 😘😘😘😘😘🤪

There were several things we wanted to try but unfortunately they were out. Nevertheless, the fra diavolo was excellent, and so was the pork Milanese. Service was great. A bit dim for my taste; too dark to see the menu but that may be an issue with my age more than them. Worth going back!
Braely Neto
Had dinner here tonight and it was excellent! Great food and our server Izzy was AMAZING! She was very friendly and helpful, totally made our experience 5 stars.
Jessica Massa
Gnocchi was amazing as well as the rigatoni! Top notch service and flavors! Charming atmosphere. Highly recommend

My girlfriend and I dined on a Friday night with a reservation at 6:00 PM. The smell upon entry was intoxicating, garlic and fresh baked bread is the best way to describe it. We were promptly seated and the server was attentive to our needs. The menu was all online and we quickly had tough decisions to make. I ordered the arugula salad with toasted almonds, radishes, fennel root, and romano cheese and it was a perfect starter. I had my eyes on the handmade pappardelle with fennel sausage cream sauce and my girlfriend order led the tortellini bolognese. Side of sauteed spinach and polenta were delectable. Everything was perfectly flavorful and the handmade pasta had the perfect texture. Service was attentive without being overwhelming and the ambiance is nice and quiet but warm and inviting. Had two espressos, tiramisu and canollis to go for desert. 10 out of 10, would visit again. Bill was $95 before tip and no alcohol was purchased.
Mitch Marsman
Awesome dinner. Food and drink were both on point. Our server and his trainee were both very helpful
Srinivasa Vamsi Laxman Perala
Smoked mushroom pasta and tiramisu were terrific! Matt was our server, he was very polite and helpful :)
Luke Harvin
I arrived late, when kitchen about to close.
Bartender (sorry I forget her name) was great, got me watered and fed, and did it with a smile!
Thank you.

So since they moved locations they no longer accept reservations. Tonite my wife and I walked there in subzero temperatures to be told they had no tables available for at least an hour. What an ill advised business decision.
Oliver Scanlon
Pascolo is a favorite date night location for my partner and I. The service is always super friendly and they are happy to get answers to any questions you have. They also have an amazing selection of wines, and make really good recommendations. We have not been disapointed by a single one of their wine recommendations.
Morgan Milhomens
Always a delicious meal and tasty cocktail at Pascolo! Also a great atmosphere and friendly staff. My favorites are the fennel sausage and paper plane. Both are so flavorful and can’t be beat. Highly recommend if you’re looking for quality Italian food in Burlington!
Amya
Great atmosphere and delicious food. My one complaint is that we were seated in a area that was heavily trafficked with staff which isn’t a problem…The issue was that they would continuously walk back and forth and shout “corner!” every 5-10 seconds directly next to our table. I understand it is a safety precaution so that no one runs into each other, however, my entire party found it to be very loud and bothersome.
Beverly Popek
Freshly made food with great service in a lively atmosphere. I highly recommend getting a reservation.
hewlew
Such a cool atmosphere! We sat at the bar because we didn’t make reservations on a Saturday but we were so grateful to be seated at the bar within 15 min. I’d say we got lucky because we had the best experience! The bar is cozy and the bar tender we had was so friendly and attentive. The food is out of this world! I’ve been to Italy and this tasted just as good! The margherita pizza and mozzarella bites w the sauce was to die for! We will be back and make a reservation this time! We love this restaurant!
Nikki Noble
Went to celebrate an amazing person who passed away. The service from Abby was amazing and she was so sweet. The other team members were also just as nice and helpful. The food from apps through to dessert was so tasty. I certainly appreciate the time and effort that goes into making a meal delicious, well paced and effortless atmosphere. Always worth going but would certainly plan on reservations to make sure you don't have to wait. Even the bar was full but that did not delay drinks.
Nicole Reynolds
Italian restaurant at its finest. Beautiful decor. The Gnocchi pasta is a must have. Absolutely perfect dinner spot. Lovely staff and vibe.
Taylor Kowgios
Amazing! I love this place. Delicious Italian food. I got gnocchis and they were freshly made and by far the best gnocchis I have ever had. The bread was great too. Highly recommend.
Justin Highet
There's a reason my girlfriend and I keep coming back here. The food is SO good and the staff is great!! There was only one time my food was just meh, and that was out of about a dozen visits. Highly recommend Pascolo!
Lillis
Some of the best food you’ll ever have. I cannot recommend this place enough! Our server Nick was wonderful and so was the hostess. You definitely won’t regret stopping by!
Lee S
Great food including gnocchi and freshly made pizza. I highly suggest trying here.
Hailey DesRochers
My husband and I went here one of the nights on our honeymoon and we could not have been happier! The staff was all amazing and the food was beyond incredible, we will definitely be returning in the future!
Catherine B
Scampi was an absolute joke - no hints of garlic or white wine. Basically tasted like olive oil pasta with some cherry tomatoes. Super disappointing. A few points for the well-cooked pasta. Mushroom papardelle was good enough but not great. Tiramisu was okay as well but not great. Balance was missing in terms of whipped cream. Not sure we’ll be here again. Expected much much better for the high reviews on here and the prices.
maddog05647
I don’t normally leave reviews but this place is just fantastic. The atmosphere is great and the food is the best I’ve ever had. Friendly staff too. You have to come here, I can not say enough about how good their food is.
Mackenzie Conver
Had dinner here with friends and family, and we loved it! The food was excellent, with prices comparable with other high-quality Italian places. Service was great despite not many servers on duty. I recommend the gnocchi pesto, and the gelato, but everything looked good.
Heidi Lacey
Atmosphere was very relaxed. Staff was pleasant. Food was excellent, by far the best pasta we've had out. Would recommend and will be going again. Good plan to call for reservations.
MARCY Soutiere
The food was fabulous and the staff is so so kind and very attentive. I would definitely go back!
Tommy Reynolds
Smaller menu and not cheap, but the food is very good. I had house made gnocchi and I would definitely recommend it.
Rose N
Everything was delicious. The dishes were a little different from what we are use to in NJ, but it was sooo good. The chocolate tort was one of the best desserts ever!!!
UDT Jr
Very nice place, home made papperdelle pasta! Mmmm👍. Consistently good food. Family friendly atmosphere. …
Michael Bertolini
Great Italian food in Burlington, a definite must go! The burratini was a fantastic appetizer; the fried calamari was awesome too! The chicken parmigiana was delicious, great spaghetti and just an overall awesome experience and delicious food if you’re craving some great Italian! Must go and I give it a 9/10!
cj sparks
Excellent atmospher, one of the most high-end establishments on the strip. Prices are very fair for a great experience and meal. They have Lawson's on tap which is nice. Bolognese was very well simmered and pan finished to an excellent flavor clearly not rushed and seasoned well. Although The rigatoni was cooked perfectly I don't know if boxed pasta did the sauce justice; Although my gnocchi dish was made with handmade pasta and very good all around. Highly recommend it to visitors and locals looking for a night out.
Mark Hemley
This place is the standard to which I compare all other Italian cuisine that I eat.
D Thomas
So glad we gave it a second chance! Food was amazing and the service was impeccable. Server "Jenn I" was very knowledgeable which made the experience fabulous
Dad Train
This place is top notch Italian food! Seating is located below ground level, which makes for a quiet, layed back atmosphere. Staff seemed very calm and relaxed making for a wonderful dining experience.
Wayne Bombard
Excellent service. Of course, like every other restaurant, they're shorthanded, but our server was very attentive and pleasant. The food was delicious. I love the ambiance of this place.
Lucianne Collado
My boyfriend and I were in town for just a couple of days and he took me here for a fancy dinner night. We definitely saw some diners dress more casually, but the food was definitely high end! The pasta was just incredibly delicious, everything was so well prepared. We ordered the Bolognese and one of their gnocchi dishes, omg it was amazing. The apps were amazing, and we definitely recommend the tiramisu. Their version of a margarita was DELICIOUS. My boyfriend tried their special cocktail for that night and he loved it. We are from the Boston area where it’s known for its Italian food in the North End. Pascolo’s food was just as incredible and equally delicious. Overall the food was just incredible and highly recommend.
Jason Born
Handmade gnocchi with sausage and the olives were fantastic!
Chris
Great food. I wish their menu was a little larger. Service was good. We all got the Chicken Marsala and didn’t realize there was pancetta in it. They were totally accommodating and remade the food to our liking. We really appreciated the staff and how hard they worked. Probably some of the best Italian food around. Highly recommended.
Tim Stetson
Wonderful atmosphere with delicious flavors. There is a live band playing very nice background jazz. Very nice staff on top of it all!!
Landon Edwards
Hand rolled gnocchi with Italian sausage. Can I lick the plate??
Chris Gagne
This Church Street restaurant is a MUST if you are looking for some great Italian cuisine. The handmade gnocchi was wonderful, the cocktails delightful and smooth. The staff were very helpful and attentive and the atmosphere cozy
Phil Schwarz
Decent Italian fare served outdoors in the Burlington Marketplace. Service was a bit slow at a busy time, 6 pm Sunday, but otherwise a good experience.
Br'Shawn Davis
I absolutely loved it here! I ordered the mushroom pasta & it was delicious. My friend ordered the Chicken Marsala and it was amazing as well! I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great dining experience.
Patriot_Pills (Patriot_Pills)
Extremely professional and extremely friendly staff make you feel right at home as Vermont native. The staff were very helpful, and the food was even greater! I'd personally recommend the Bolognese, as it was the greatest Italian dish I've ever graced my taste buds with. I'd rate six stars if I could!
Daniel Shearer (MrMicrobe)
Rustic-chic Italian awesomeness
Ankit Dhaniwala
The pizza bread may not be the best but the ingredients were absolutely the best... very authentic.
Must try the Roma Pizza ..
Mark Hopkins
We dined outside on Church Street. The waitress was very helpful suggesting vegan alternatives. The kitchen executed the changes well. The Fragile pasta dish was delicious. My wife had pasta pomodoro and arugula salad. Highly recommended.
Mrs. Brown
Very good wait staff. Explained menu nicely. The octopus was very nicely done although the portion was very small and served with potatoes which wasn’t in the description in the menu. The special pasta of the day was delicious. The Brussels sprouts were pretty good and the pizza was okay. I would definitely eat here again.
Justin Wohl
The kitchen at Pascolo delivered beautifully on what was an otherwise off-the-menu order: this pasta, that vegetable, add sausage, no dairy, etc. It was an exceptionally good dish and I was very grateful they catered to the requests so flawlessly.
Bread and a light arugula salad were great to start while we waited for the dish, wine selection was also on point. After dinner pours of Fernet were a perfect digestif finish for the meal. Highly recommend for a nice night out. Ambiance was romantic without being too dark or distracting.
Rob White
Authentic Italian food. Great atmosphere and service. Had a great wonderful dinner and half price Wednesday bottle of wine!!
Camilia Loignon-Gagnon
Great atmosphere and food!
Venu V
One of the worst Italian foods I have eaten. Even worse is the servers walking around eating and drinking. Frack it, guys whatcha doing ????
Kaylee Weston
The service was wonderful and the atmosphere was beautiful. The host was bubbly and delightful. The food was excellent and we received a complimentary dessert for my boyfriend's birthday which was surprising, the tiramisu was moist but subtly exquisite. Incredible experience for both of our first time visiting, we will be back!
Merrill Allen
Pretty good drinks, great location, love the pastas & apps. If you like anchovies on a salad, theirs are actually fresh! My boyfriend and I did have a bad experience one time where we were served rotten shrimp (all 3 🤢) and we were very ill. So I'll keep going back, but I might not get the shrimp again! …
Hiroikku Neko (Hironya)
The service was great, and I ordered an excellent drink for my 21st birthday. While the carbonara was good, my standards as an Italian are a bit high. Some things I recommend: instead of cream, use just eggs! Also, pancetta is really good and all but if you can find good local guanciale, that’s what they should use. Otherwise, for American carbonara, it’s really good.
Joshua Rose
Perfect atmosphere, the interior of the restaurant is styled superbly. A great selection of drinks, mainly wine and also beer. The food is unreal. You can taste the freshness and quality in the ingredients they use as well as the meats/cheeses they have and make. The shrimp and mussels we had in one of our dishes was arguably the freshest I've ever had this far inland from the coast. To top it off the pistachio gelato is a must. Honestly one of the best dining experiences I've had in Burlington and I've lived here sampling various restaurants downtown for the past 3 years. The waiting staff was super attentive and pleasant...granted I was grabbing an early dinner so it wasn't too crowded. All in all, I'd highly recommend this place for an intimate dining experience. You won't be disappointed.
Joe Allen
Best pasta I've had in Vermont and a long time.
Dawn Minkoff
This place was probably our favorite of all the restaurants We visited while we were here in Burlington Vermont. The service was perfect. they did keep social distancing with outside dining which was appreciated. Mask were required to get in as well as reservations. The service was great The food was even better and we look forward to being able to come back and enjoy another meal in the future. Just sad that we forgot to take pictures of our meals before we started eating them or we would have posted photos.
Connor Milone
My family and I had an unforgettable meal at this charming downtown Burlington restaurant. To start, the atmosphere is everything you could want out of an Italian restaurant -- exposed brick, candle-lit tables, open kitchen, long bar, and of course a beautiful wine display.
The service was fast, courteous and attentive, and our waitress made excellent recommendations for wine and meals.
But the real reason we will come back to Pascolo is the food. Truly everything was delicious, from the olives to the hand-made pasta, to the Bolognese sauce. I especially recommend the Gnocci, Chicken Marsala, or the Pomodoro (I am salivating just thinking about those melted chunks of mozzarella). This was a real, fresh Italian meal that tastes as good as it looks.
Thank you for making our night so enjoyable and we look forward to coming back.
Gul Garewal
We loved the pasta dishes and margarita pizza. Will definitely go back again, very friendly staff!
Kelt Wilska
Worth the price. Went here for Valentines Day and it was the perfect choice. Very warm lighting, elegant seating, friendly staff, and the food was top notch. So glad I tried the special pasta and clam sauce. Definitely would recommend for a special night out.
Sara Lentz
Great gnocchi!! Made in house! I highly recommend this. Good service but we had to sit at the bar since we didn't have reservations. It was packed on a Saturday, even at 6p. Nice atmosphere. Prices are a tad bit high
Gabe Epstein
Thanks for a wonderful dinner on Saturday. I took my wife out for a birthday dinner. She had the spaghetti and meatballs, her favorite, and I had the sausage gnocchi, which was exquisite. In an area so full of restaurants serving amazing food, the delicately flavored, perfectly portioned dishes at your establishment really make it stand out among the rest. What set the night over the top, however, was the quality of experience provided by your staff. Alex was our server and he was so attentive and professional, as were the other staff who kept our water glasses full and delivered our bread (oh my goodness, that butter spread!) and the appetizer, the mushroom bruschetta. Our main course took a little longer than usual, but we never felt forgotten or abandoned; in fact we hardly noticed. There are many restaurants in Vermont that get the food right but struggle when it comes to service. You should be very proud of everyone who makes your restaurant one of our favorite places in Burlington.
Janice Fontaine
If you want an absolutely fun and engaging bartender with “red” hair, this is the place. If you want the lightest gnocchi ever this is the place! We had a reservation somewhere else, stoped in for a glass of wine and decided to stay. The bartenders enthusiasm and personality kept us there. Her recommendations are top notch, listen to her! December 26, 2019 6-7:30pm. Didn’t catch her name, she was a delight!!!!!

Outstanding Italian food. Genuine and authentic. Most items made on prem. Service, as always was outstanding. All the fresh pasta versions are outstanding.
Matt Gale-Pyka
Nick K. was very attentive, friendly and knowledgeable. His favorite dish was also my favorite dish so extra appreciation! Amazing staff, food and drinks!
Andy Benevides (AndySXP87)
When I went Wed night it was very busy. So they were able to get me a seat at the bar. Nonetheless my Eggplant parm came within minutes and the wine was nice. Very good here, only wish it wasn’t so busy. Lol
Sara Johnson
I chose chicken parmesan. Not only was the chicken dry, but it wasn't made the Italian way. Chicken parmesan should not be served without cheese and sauce all over the meat. Mine had one slice of cheese and scant sauce. A disappointment.
Dana C Spartichino
Great little Italian place on Market Square in Burlington, Vermont, My girl and I went for dinner last Saturday night and glad we did, I definitely recommend
Melissa
The service was pleasant. The food was tasty. There wasnt a very large selection from what to choose from. Two dinners were brought out way before the other two, which made them start to get a little cold by the time we all were able to start eating our dinners together.
Robyn Latta
I've had diner here once during restaurant week and it was amazing. Everything we ate was delicious and so fresh tasting. I also rented out the side room with a friend for a party and it was the perfect venue. However there definitely should have been two servers for 40 people. The drinks ended up coming out super slow because one poor girl, who wasn't normally a cocktail waitress, was trying to serve everyone. She did a great job for the task at hand, and it was not her fault the restaurant didn't schedule more people to help. It did not at all hamper anyone's good time.
Kathleen Insley
Excellent chicken marsala and my husband loved his spaghetti all amatriciana. Very pleasant service. Will go again!
Ben Jordan
Our server Marissa was just excellent! Three courses of magnificent food and five star service, will visit again!
Gian Lopez
First time in Burlington from Florida. Great ambiance, food was delicious! Great service. I counted 5 different people who offered some kind of service to our particular table. Andrea, our waitress, was knowledgeable, courteous, prompt and very personable. Loved our experience. Thank you!!
Maddie Conway O'Reilly
Amazing food. Highly recommend this place if you want to mix it up from pub food around Church St (the pub food is good, but sometimes you need something different!) Make a reservation online and don't leave your table to chance. The space is not huge. The pastas and bruschetta we had were amazing. They bring you fresh bread with herbed butter. My only regret is we were too stuffed for dessert!
Sandy Richards
We had dinner outside last Friday evening. The food was delicious....calamari was exceptional .
We did feel the pasta entrees were very nice as well. The portions were a bit small for the price, however.
Patti Rosenberg
Food was outrageous. The butternut squash appetizer was off the chain. Flat breads were out of this world!! The topper to this meal was drinking a Dominick the Donkey their rendition of a Moscow Mule. It was incredible and warmed the chilly night away.
Great experience. I will be back!
Dan Schiller
Love this place! We took the kids here after going here on a date night a few months ago. The chicken parmagiana is flavorful, even if the breading looks like Tyson chicken nuggets. However, everything tastes great and the ambiance is relaxing and intimate.
Scott Richer
The appetizers we had were good. We had the calamari and the muscles. The bread from the Red Hen Bakery is very delicious. Especially when dipped in the sauce the muscles were in.
The flat bread pizza was decent, but there are better options around. Expected a bit higher quality and taste for the prices they charge. But I guess part of the price is being right on Church Street.
The beer selection were mainly IPAs. If you're not a hop head and want a good non-IPA VT microbrew you may need to go somewhere else.
Erica Lutz
Fabulous mussles and home made pasta
Blair Wolston
A great place for authentic Italian dinner if you're on or near the Church St Marketplace. We have been several times, great wine selections, attentive service, chill basement ambiance. It's a regular stop in the rotation plus they support the Localvore Passport app, just go!
Snow Sven
Really good food. It was quiet... but even though there weren't a lot of people like at all, we still had like 10 minute wait for seats which was strange. Kind of the pricey side, but worth t nevertheless. If you're a college student, this is three dollars signs not two.
I got pasta with two meatballs.. that's was 17 dollars. I was a little stressed.
Matt D.
Service was phenomenal!! Food tasted as if I was back in Italy. But what impressed me most was the staff which to a person is excellent!!!
Sean Snow
Would give 3 stars were it not for the atmosphere of the place.
It used to be a restaurant called Three Tomatoes, which had a few locations throughout the state that sadly all closed down.
Food is good, albeit slightly expensive. But, that's to be expected if you want good Italian.
This establishment is located underneath Church Street and has a very intimate, almost cozy vibe to it while still feeling formal.
David Wills
Food was good, highlight was the fried calamari. Light battered and cooked well, entree was good as well...menu doesnt blow you away but I can tell the chef executes the menu very well. Enjoyed the time there...
Christopher Schneider
My go to restaurant on church street. I have ordered so many different meals from here and have never been disapointed. They ran a 40$ dinner for two special for a while which made for a perfect date night. The beer selection is fantastic as well carrying a lot of vermont craft beer.
J.D. (ACE7F22)
To die for. Had the wood fire baked pizza, and it was incredible. It's expensive, but absolutely one of the very best fanciest restaurants. The staff are nice and pleasant as well, and they are well educated when it comes to the food the kitchen makes. I didn't have to wait for any answers.
Haley Smith
Great service and amazing food. The fresh made pasta is the way to go! The desserts are worth it as well if you've left room. Perfect for special occasions!
Theresa Blankenship
I very much enjoyed dinner here. It has a classy atmosphere that still has a casual and cozy vibe. It's not stuffy at all. The service was great. Very attentive and friendly without being overbearing.
We had the antipasto sampler which was delicious, although I was disappointed that the caprese salad wasn't in season yet. Though, I do respect that they only use local, heirloom tomatoes and that was why. Their take on a Moscow mule (the Mafioso mule) with blood orange was a creative take on a classic. For our entrees we both chose the house made papardelle. One plate of the lamb ragu and one of the smoked mushrooms. Both were flavorful and had great attention to detail. The mushrooms were cooked through while still retaining a good texture. For dessert, cannoli and tiramisu with coffee. All of which were thoroughly enjoyed.
Highly recommend all of it for an enjoyable special occasion dinner!
Mike Godfrey (BuddhaGoalie31)
Outstanding meal last night with exceptional service - the wine selection continues to be interesting, the pasta was perfect, and the seafood was cooked to perfection, including the very fresh and tender calamari. Well done Pascolo!
Ethan Kmetz
Everything was amazing. The waitress was very helpful with helping me choose from the wine selection. We got the Italian sausage and gnocchi, a margherita pizza, and for desert gelato with apple and caramel. Everything was perfect.
Patricia Onorio
Loved this restaurant! Would absolutely come back on a return trip to Burlington. Excellent staff and food. I wish I remembered the name of our waitress to thank her. She was very attentive and helpful.
Alec McDougall
Very tasty food and nice staff.
Wayne Stone
Great food. Responsive staff. Food can be slow coming out but worth the wait. I would go back anytime. PS very Coid away. All good stuff
Samuel Coleman
We are regulars at this spot for dinner in Burlington. Great variety, consistently delicious Italian food, and friendly service. A little expensive but worth it for a special occasion or any night.
AWPellegrino
Such delicious food. Perfect portions and very fresh ingredients. Masterful cooking with the most charming service.
Myriam Salameh
By far, one of the best places to eat in Burlington, fantastic in house made pasta!
Christopher Tse
What a find on my last night in Burlington! Home made pasta cooked to perfection (al dente, if course!) Beef shoulder nice and tender with the sweetest and tastiest carrots over had in many many years. Tiramusu that's not too sweet, and nice and light. Oh, and top notch service, even sat in the bar area. Loved this place!
Christine Oppenheim
Wonderful Italian fare! You can tell the culinary team puts their heart in their work! Great experience!
Cameryn Tierno
Staff was willing to give me a half size portion because I was afraid of getting too much food. I went back the next day and the waitress remembered our orders. We promised we wouldn’t go to the same place twice on our trip to Vermont but couldn’t stop dreaming of Pascolos!
Peter Stacy
One of my all time favorite restaurants, delicious food and wine. Great atmosphere as well. Our waitress was awesome as well, perfect experience.
Sean Myshrall
My girlfriend and I love coming here for the warm atmosphere, great service, and wonderful food. We always get Rebecca as our server and she is always very knowledgeable and attentive making it a great all around experience!
Carole Elaine Furr
Excellent food and service. The room was a little too loud at times, but otherwise, a fine atmosphere. Old opera posters on the walls, and a mural of some notable sights in Italy (I assume).
Ethan Farmer
Great food and unique signature cocktails. Everything on the menu is delicious and the atmosphere is killer. Prices are a bit high for some items it seems, but an overall great place to eat.
Becca MC
Good selection of pizzas and pastas to choose from.
Jill Schmitz
Would absolutely recommend this place to someone looking for a place to have dinner while in Burlington. It's on the main street there- Church Street- and the food was delish. When we were looking for places to eat, this was the clear winner just based on how it looked in pictures and how the menu sounded and it lived up to its expectations.
Francine Aylestock
Ate.at this wonderful restaurant 3 months ago. Took a salad as an entry And pastas! Hum delicious! The real italien way ! We are heading there today again before our return to Canada! Love the place, the service!
Justin S
Pascolo is THE Italian restaurant in Burlington. Amazing food, good atmosphere, and surprisngly reasonably priced for the quality of food. Quality is top notch and comes through in the delicate flavors of the food. Are there other italian places around town? Doesnt matter. This is where you want to be.
David Foote
This basement restaurant makes many dishes from scratch and has a more authentic feel to it than others Italian restaurants in the area. It's my first choice for food while walking Church Street. Try the bolognese pasta entree with a carafe of house wine!
Stephen Markarian
Awesome place! Good fresh food with good staff. Wish the menu was a bit bigger, but I loved my clam sauce... And the calamari was great too.
James Aurand
Great service! The food was delicious!
Lee Hulbert
Went here several weeks ago and meals were great, only issue was they forgot one dinner out of a party of 7. They quickly rectified the issue. We strongly recommend the Pascolo Ristorante.

Jitin Verma
Its an authentic italian experience... We tried the pasta pomodoro sauce; marceli mushroom sauce, and the arugula salad and caprese salad... Loved everything

No wonder there are no good reviews yet. You have to have a Google+ account to post. Who has a Google+ account? Anyway, this place was great. The service was very good. The eggplant parm was very good.

The food was excellent and the service was fantastic. My only complaint was that they did not give us time to enjoy our appetizers before the meal came. I didn’t feel rushed just miscommunication between the front of the house and the kitchen.

(Translation) Before covid, this was our favorite restaurant in Burlington. We went back there recently and unfortunately, they lost a lot on the customer side: my dish arrived well behind the others: I had to go ask for an extra plate (to share a dish since mine didn't arrive) , the wine and water list...
Also, be sure to book online, otherwise it's impossible to get a table, even at 4:30 pm! Oh! And a family of 5 (3 children under 7) is considered a group 😬🤷🤦

(Translation) Burlington is a very beautiful city. The restaurant is on the main street - a kind of beautiful pedestrian street. The food in the restaurant was excellent. We ate a great tomato soup and extremely delicious crispy calamari, an excellent Caesar salad and we got value for the price. not very expensive.
