Reviews of Parkway Diner
Fast service, food is okay.
Stopped here for quick breakfast. Place was packed and we decided to sit outside. Weather permitted us;)
Service was fast, server was friendly. Food was okay, I didn't like Benedict sauce much here. Home fries was partially cold. But overall, we enjoyed.
Thank you
Short version: I loved everything about this restaurant.
Long version: The Parkway Diner is the ideal restaurant. It has an inviting atmosphere and a pleasing old-school aesthetic. The staff is professional and friendly, and it has a good home town everybody knows everybody feel to it.
They were very busy, yet the food came out fast, and beautiful prepared. Everything was delicious and well worth the price. Notably, in my opinion, the coffee was good too. I've come to expect below average coffee, at best, anywhere I get breakfast and was pleasantly surprised otherwise today.
The only potential drawback I can think if is that the dining area is a little small, with tables big enough to seat 4. I had no trouble as I dined alone this morning. I sat at the bar and am very tall. My legs didn't really fit, but I was still pretty comfortable and everything else was so good I didn't mind a bit.
This restaurant is absolutely my go-to option from now on any time I find myself in the area.
Wonderful new/old spot for breakfast. The historic diner feel is cozy and the food is hearty and delicious. I had the two veg options for breakfast-- veggie hash with poached eggs and the veggie breakfast burrito-- with endless coffee pours. Looking forward to trying the barbacoa breakfast burrito and lunch sandwiches.
First time at the diner. Small and tight, busy at times, good food, good coffee and great service.
Their biscuit was a little over baked but very tasty.
Prices are decent and include state meals tax.
Limited parking spaces.
So glad this place reopened, with a scratch kitchen nonetheless! It maintains a classic American diner vibe while providing superior quality food. I got the full english breakfast (a rarity on menus around here) and thoroughly enjoyed it. The sausage and ham was spectacular, the beans were very good, the english muffin was very good, but i found the tomatoes and mushrooms to be lacking. Service was slow but they were very busy and also short-staffed. Cant recommend this place enough!
They just updated this place and it is truly amazing. Came on a Saturday and it was packed. Highly recommend. Great service. Unique and amazing food. Fits the bill of the perfect diner experience.
Great food, experienced waitresses. Not many servers hustle like this anymore. A real trip down nostalgia lane. Looking forward to returning. And we were in and out in 30 minutes.
Clean diner, quick service, courteous and friendly staff. I had the Parkway Wrap for lunch, and it was pretty incredible. Amazing flavor! But what set this place above the rest for me, was their pickles. They tasted like the refrigerator pickles my grandma used to make, and I haven't had them in over 20 years. For a few minutes, I was a little kid again, sneaking pickles from Grandma's fridge. Thanks for that memory.
The food tasted great. The prices are high but well worth the money spent. I only was able to eat half of the food and took the other half home. To get wait staff were all friendly even when people came in 5 minutes before closing time. Too bad they close so early because I think they would do really good business there for dinner. The only thing that I wish they had there was a kids menu.
Great place! Nearly all the menu is made from scratch, even the english muffins are made there. We ordered two kinds of eggs benedict, and they were fabulous. Service was friendly and even the other customers seemed all around nice. Best part, in my opinion, is the vibe. It feels like stepping back in time a bit; just a cozy old style diner, but still updated enough to be comfortable in the modern sense. I look forward to going there again!
Yummy food, big portions. A bit greasy, but it's diner fare. They source some ingredients from local producers. They also have beers on tap and spirits for mixing. I'm so glad they purchased this restaurant and made it what it is.
We were taking my daughter to the airport. We got together with my son and his wife. Every one had a good breakfast. The service was exceptional. My only problem was trying to fit a family of norsky minnesotans of a length on of diner seats. JUST a bit tight. Food was good though.
Very fresh and yummy food. Good portions. Nostalgic look and feel. Recommend stopping here. Had turkey-ham club. No lunch meat here! Homemade Roasted turkey and fresh ham.
Service was great. Food was tasty and they were willing to hold the avocado. I would give them 5 stars for those 2 things. BUT, the bathroom on the right was terrible.
The bathroom had no toilet paper. So, people were using those brown paper towels as TP. I cannot imagine how they flushed down the toilet. And I cannot imagine because it wouldn't stop running. (I would hate to see their water bill!) The toilet was not flushable. I'm thinking there's likely a health code violation there.
Let's add how little force the sink had to wash my hands. There was soap in the dispenser. Yet, the water faucet couldn't be turned enough to get more than a semi-strong trickle. Ugh.
I hope they fix that bathroom sooner rather than later! And the garbage can was overflowing, too.
Such a shame, to be honest.
Nice place to grab breakfast before going to the airport. Pretty small inside, but we didn’t have to wait long for a booth
Got there around 1:00 but didn't realize they closed at 2. Still got our meals in plenty of time to eat comfortably without being hurried. Food was tasty and as expected, service was good, prices were reasonable.
This was our first time here and it was wonderful. Everything here is made from scratch. We had the Sauage and Gravy which was a great portion. The service was excellent as well as helpful and informative. We shall return for more of the same soon!
This is such an authentic diner and the food was delicious. We all had brunch and all the ingredients were fresh and many local. It is small and many people know how good it is, so there was a slight wait. Totally worthwhile.
Under new ownership after they had to close due to the pandemic. They're still providing all the diner classics. Good quality food in an local iconic establishment. I enjoyed a ham and cheese omelette with hand made English muffins. Can't beat it.
Great breakfast burrito bowl with super efficient and friendly staff. I will definitely be back.
One of my favorite places, food is always fantastic. Haven't found anything yet that's not excellent. Service always friendly and quick.
Only get here every couple of years but it's always a good experience. Food good, prices good service and atmosphere great!
Very sorry to say I was disappointed, bacon was good, lovely bread but barely toasted and cold. Scrambled eggs and pancake were average at best. $19 for that without tip. Fond memories from years ago, was hoping for more😔 …
It has been 50 years since I've been there. Pretty much the same. Liked the "made from scratch"! Very friendly efficient staff. Loved it!
Great food but we waited around an hour for 4 easy breakfast meals and it didn't seem too busy
The food was very good but the cost of the breakfast was much too high. We ordered 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes and toast for 2 people. We ordered a coffee and a tea. The cost of the breakfast was $44. They charge $3 each for coffee and tea and a some type of tax for $3.64. I have been here before and have never paid that. Unfortunately, we will not be back. As someone else said, that breakfast should have cost about $25. We just finished having supper and it cost $43 for the two of us.
I love this place in the morning. It can be a little pricey for breakfast, but overall great value. I'm glad they brought it back!
Friendly. Tasty. Cute. Authentic diner fare.
The Parkway Diner is a memorable dining experience. Having grown up in Connecticut where diners were once plentiful, it was refreshing to see how much the Parkway Diner preserved the classic diner appeal. Everything from the vintage refrigerators, stainless steel decor, old timey music, and even the ketchup holder were in theme with a classic vintage diner. Every detail has been considered. Better yet, the food is all made from scratch and certainly did not disappoint! Great service, excellent ambiance, outstanding food! You couldn't ask for more in a dining experience. Very pleased this restaurant was revitalized in Burlington. A must see if you live close by, or are passing through! I wonder if they'll do events so that I can host a party there?!?
The diner itself it the idealistic dining car experience. A perfect combination of a timeless atmosphere with a menu that offers the quality of a scratch kitchen. We had an omelette, chicken and waffles and a fruit and yogurt parfait; they were all delicious. We can’t wait to return and see the diner in “full swing”.
Delicious food! They have fresh made gluten free bread. It was amazing. We had a minor issue with our order that was swiftly taken care of. Would highly recommend
We've been delighted with two Parkway Diner meals in one week. The classic eggs benedict was perfect. Our second trip was meant to try their club sandwich, but they were only serving from the breakfast menu. A quick pivot to corned beef hash plate was just fine, especially with their homemade English muffin.
Great diner atmosphere, great food, great service. Lots of stuff made from scratch, English muffins are fantastic.
We had a fantastic breakfast here. The eggs were great, the sausage links were delicious, the toast was to die for, and the home fries were yummy. The coffee on the other hand wasn't so good. But that's ok... Everything else made up for it.
Great find! Loved the breakfast veggie burrito and chai latte. The staff was great and very kind
We had a great experience despite a super rude pair of customers sitting next to us at the bar (literally nothing made them happy). My husband ordered very well done hash (he’s odd) and it came out exactly to his specifications. My eggs were what I requested (over easy) his were what he asked for (over medium) and the waitress was great - quite the feat with the grief the next pair was giving her. I’d come back again the next time I’m in town, and leave room for drinks. I was eyeing the mimosa flight but just didn’t have the inclination today. Next time!
Also, the place was packed! It was a 15-20 minute wait for booths. Bar seating was first come first serve so couples, like us, were quickly seated at the bar.
Come in hungry and leave satisfied in this wonderful establishment. Amazing flavors and I highly recommend the hash.
Our kind of place. Casual. Throwback in time. Pleasant, unpretentious ladies waited on us. Great omelette. Unpretentious arrangement. Two forks up.
Great to see the diner back open! I’ve had every corned beef hash at every diner in the greater Burlington area, and this one is hands down the best of all of them. I was 3/4 of the way through before I thought about getting a picture for the review but couldn’t put the fork down. Wishing the best of luck to the new owners, I know I’ll return!
Was hoping for a little better quality at this iconic spot.
Our homefries were not tasty...neither my dad nor I liked them.
The Benedict was okay. It's nice that they have a GF toast option.
The tomato soup tasted like Campbell's with a little flair...it's fine if it was, it just was not a homemade flavor. The ceasar dressing on my salad was a little odd but it was fine.
Most of the food was not hot coming out...just warm.
I just feel like for what we payed and for the reputation this establishment had, that it was a very lackluster experience. Hopefully it was a fluke.
I had the breakfast bowl and it was cooked to perfection. Just driving through but will remember this place if we are in the area again.
Fabulous breakfast diner. It is small, it is busy, be patient and wait. It is worth it! Scratch made.
Great atmosphere. Nice staff. Food is good. Could use milkshakes and standard desserts
Great food, wonderful nostalgic surroundings, attentive & friendly staff and you MUST try the homemade whoopie pies!
Really yummy diner. Happy to take people there, it's nice they use local items. Overall I really enjoyed it.
The best pancakes ever, sweet and attentive staff, CLEAN, all in an old authentic dining car
Food was very good service was friendly but the menu is kind of weird everything is an add-on and it up charge
Ordered the Salmon eggs Benedict was so delicious I finished it in like 3 minutes, the home fries were some of the best ive ever had perfect crunch. Also had the banana cream pie which was also delicious the crust was perfect. The kitchen was having some issues with getting food out quick and they forgot my side of toast, but the waitress was understanding and only charged me for the eggs benedict. I love that this place makes everything in house not alot of places that do that anymore. Never went to this place before the new owners but I can say Corey the head chef is doing wonder in the kitchen.
We sat outside and enjoyed a delicious breakfast of veggie hash and smoked salmon benedict. The homemade biscuit and English muffins were delightful. Highly recommend going.
Loved the old diner! Great food, atmosphere and friendly staff.
Just ate at the (at time of writing) newly reopened Parkway and it was *SO GOOD*! I had the hash plate and my partner had the 50/50 burger and it was all just absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be coming back to this place!
A classic and authentic dinner in an old dinner rail car. Scratch kitchen everything g made from scratch with local produce.
The staff was very friendly and the menu is small but mighty!! I had a blueberry waffle and without a doubt, the best one I've ever had! I also enjoyed the mimosa flight.
Great diner experience - Good food, reasonable prices and an adorable atmosphere!
Fun place great food. A bit of a wait but worth it.
Great diner with very friendly staff and nice food.
I had the chicken salad on toasted rye and it was delicious. The marbled rye was toasted to perfection and the chicken salad was piled on. I was very pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back! I'd love to experience the breakfast offerings knowing what a great lunch I had. The server was really nice and made this traveler feel comfortable and at ease in unfamiliar surroundings. Prices are unbeatable too!
Had a fantastic lunch today here Parkway an authentic 1940s diner with all of its original interior. For great food and a wonderful experience this is the spot.
Delicious food, great friendly service. This is the go to Diner in the Burlington area.
It was good clean bathroom and all but the FLYS were horrible and so was the wait time
Great breakfast. Very good service.
Great food fantastic service with a smile very reasonable prices
Excellent breakfast! Great bloody Mary. Classic diner environment.
Fast friendly service, even faster take out. Staff is always friendly and smiling, quick to make you feel welcome. We eat here at least once a week. When I was pregnant, it was daily, my baby girl gave me cravings for French toast every morning!!! We would recommend this place to anyone
Staff was super friendly and the food was delicious. Food is cooked on a grill right in front of you so you can see absolutely everything that goes into the food. Everything was spotless. Definitely the cleanest diner I've gone to. The food is fairly priced for what you get as well. Definitely will be one of my go to breakfast places for my Burlington trips!
It's incredible! Best breakfast in a long time. The outside makes it look a little run down, but it's perfectly clean on the inside, and the outside ads to it's charm if you ask me! It's by far the best breakfast I can remember. The service is exceptionally nice, the manager/owner could not have been nicer. The cooks are right there and super nice too. Great waitress... we told them if we lived there we would go every day, and we would!
Very cute but it is small and busy so expect to wait a little bit. The food was great and pretty inexpensive. There were a few vegetarian options and tons of meat lovers options to choose from. They serve breakfast and lunch foods. The servers are friendly and quick and you get to watch the cooks do their thing.
By far and away the best diner experience I’ve ever had! Came in, sat right down at the awesome vintage counter, was greeted by a really awesome staff, and ordered a Benedict with corned beef hash, an Irish Benedict that’s not on the menu, but should be! It came out wicked fast and fresh and was, without a doubt, the best Eggs Benedict of any kind I’ve EVER had! The muffin was perfect, sweet and crunchy... the hash was homemade and perfect... and the sauce was amazing. Keep doing what you’re doing Parkway Diner, you’ll be my regular place when I come to Burlington!!!
Love this place! Great food and atmosphere. A little loud, but that's coems with the atmosphere. No other complaints. The sausage gravy is worth breaking a diet for. Their coffee is sooo good. I've never had a bad meal here!
Great food and service
One of the few traditional breakfast places left in the city. Staff is very friendly and I've never had a bad meal there. Huge pancakes, surprisingly good coffee and pretty decent corned beef hash.
I'd be a regular but my waistline wouldnt like that.
If you want a small dining feel this is the place for you. Food was good. Staff was more than friendly. If you sit at the stools stay clear of the stove it gives off alot of heat you'll be sweating, but other than that it's a perfect little spot and in a great location! Enjoy
If you're early to the airport, the food is fast and delicious. Staff is super friendly, paper goods are eco friendly, they utilize local farms, and the bathrooms are clean. Only stepped in for a quick bite and a coffee, but I will be back. :-)
Had a delicious Turkey, bacon, spinach, banana peppers & garlic mayo wrap yesterday for lunch. Price was reasonable too.
The waitress was pleasant & checked to make sure my wrap was good, plus top off my drink. I will return here for lunch again.
Great place to grab a quick breakfast near the airport. One of the few dinners left in Vermont. The staff are friendly and attentive. They keep your coffee full. The food is typical dinner, hot, fast and good. Casual atmosphere with lots of friendly locals.
Parkway Diner provided an ideal classic American diner experience. The food was simple, delicious, appropriately priced, and arrived quickly. The staff was attentive and pleasant. The restaurant was well maintained and, more importantly, well ventilated (i.e. my clothes didn't smell of bacon and fries when I left). Overall, my first experience here was great. I only regret not having gone here sooner having lived in South Burlington now for 3.5 years.
I thought the options were pretty good for a diner car. Possibly THE cleanest diner I have ever visited. Food was fresh, hot (except for the sausages- however they earned them up from fully cooked for a three year old, so the temp was perfect for him). Delicious westerns, and some of the best pancakes I've had in ages.
Bathrooms were clean and spacious, a plus for mommy with kids in tow.
Downside- only 4 to a booth, so our party of 5 got split up, but the waitress was great with it. Checked in everyone frequently.
Limited seating so you can wait a bit to get a booth in peak times, but theres a long counter you can sit at. The food is totally worth the wait. Excellent specials, great staples, plate sized pancakes and perfectly protected French toast. The breakfast meats are good too.
Great traditional diner in Burlington that's worth the wait on the weekends. Situated in a classic dining car, they offer no frills breakfast and lunch fare. Service was quick and gracious and the home fries were above average. (I just wish there was more onion and paprika in the mix.)
Lovely good, good coffee, excellent service. The place can get very busy, but they handle it well!
Classic old school diner! Bacon cheeseburger was delish 😋 Glad we went! …
Bananas Foster Pancake with coffee ice cream 😋 breakfast all day, lunch.., and Mimosas. Outdoor seating as weather allows!!! …
This place is a gem on a busy U.S. route well known for soulless, chain restaurants. The Parkway is like stepping back into a simpler time. The old diner is charming, even if it's a bit cramped and cozy at times. The lunch counter is perfect for a quick bite by yourself and you can watch the cooks actually prepare your food right in front of you. The booths are small and intimate, yet ooze charm. The coffee and soft drinks are bottomless, and the food is that great, old fashioned, greasy spoon, goodness. I think that it's definitely South Burlington's best breakfast joint.
Diner vibes, Diner food in the best way possible. Great hash and having beer and drink options doesn't hurt
Quintessential dinner experience...in all the best ways. Food is more than adequate in both quality and quantity. Limited space may mean longer waits during busy times (particularly morning). Counter service is great and efficient, and staff is very accommodating. Eggs and pancakes are very good.
Great food. diner appearance outside but very clean! We got seats promptly and it took maybe 10 mins top to get our food. Everything was perfect and staff were talking about how well they worked today! Great teamwork in there and all staff were friendly. 10/10
Pancakes are huge, one will be plenty, 🥓 perfectly cooked, as well as eggs. Real maple syrup. Hearing rave reviews about the home fries, next time I'll try those! Kind of hard to get a booth but the counter works too. …
We love coming here. The wait is never too long (a rarity for a breakfast spot in Chittenden County) and you know your service will be fast and the food will be hot and delicious. Get used to being cozy with the person next to you at the counter and enjoy some great coffee while your food is prepared!
Went in for breakfast, around 11am the place was fairly empty. They told us to seat ourselves. We did. We ordered, and got our food petty quick. The food was a lot, and very good, but after that the service went downhill, it was like once we got our food, the waitress was done with us. We had a young girl. She brought over coffee, and tea, and walked away. No cream or milk. We waited 10 minutes, before she came over again. By then the tea and coffee was getting cold. Then she never came over for awhile. We were done, with are coffee, and tea, and we tried to get her attention, she was busy talking and joking to other co-workers, 20 minutes later, she did come over, we were almost done with our food by then. She hands us the bill, we told no, that we wanted more coffee and tea. She walked away with an attitude, came back with more coffee , and hot water, no new tea bag, like most breakfast places do.
She gave us our bill, we handed her the money with the bill, she asked us if we needed change. We said no. She walked away, with no thank-you.
The service just sucked
What do you get when you add a 68 year old Worcester lunch car, a spotless interior, perfect service and high quality food? You get a diner experience worthy of any appetite. Don't let the word diner fool you, the best ingredients make the best meals. The breakfast melted away a dreary weather morning with a veggie omlet loaded with crispy peppers, onions, mushrooms and fresh cheddar. Sided with soft home fries and delicious fresh toast. The poached eggs were cooked perfect to the bell ring again pared with home fries soft, rightly seasoned and married to balanced amounts of onions coupled with softly toasted marble rye. The portions did not over do it but would please any hungry jack.
Bottomless cups of coffee served with a smile and a location easy to spot on RT 7.
Its a diner! Good wholesome food Owner is attentive and very genuine. Comes around and checks on people and you can tell that they mean it when they ask how everything is going. Had a sausage breakfast sandwich and split pancakes for the table 😁 will be back …
Amazing basic breakfast with tasty veggie sausages
A real Diner. Great breakfast place. Home made corn beef hash, pancakes the size of the plate with real VT Maple syrup. Very good eggs Benedict. Often busy but the line moves. Seating in booths and counter are snug but adequate.
I always like coming here. I like thier food. It's a good spot for a good home cooked meal. I'd give it 5 stars if it had more seating...but it's such a quaint place for a couple to have a nice breakfast or the whole family or if you're on lunch break I suggest calling ahead..Just be prepared for a wait.....sometimes there isnt a one but usually there is. It is worth it though if you have the time !! Yummmmm!
Everything is homemade (the bread!) and it's a great ol' diner experience. Coffee is Vermont Coffee Company and the service is good. A small space, do be prepared to wait or just sit at the counter. Limited griddle menu, but rotating specials.
Service was fantastic. Food was great. Everyone was friendly. Order was fufilled correctly and very promptly and wasn't too hot or Luke warm. Would recommend this diner. The interior was a blast from the past.
They have the best prices (anyone who disagrees probably hasn't been to similar local places) and a really friendly staff. If you are in a rush and require a booth call ahead to check how busy they are, sometimes there is a wait (but its totally worth it). They have a tiny kitchen and can get very busy so know this before going.
They also have the best home fries if you enjoy flavor. Skip Henry st diner in burlington and make the 10 minute drive to Parkway!
I was there i come from Boston Logan because i delivery a guys with Uber. GREAT FOOD, GREAT PEOPLE
Awesome traditional diner! This was pure luck for me to find this place, and I wish I’d still had my friends with me. Sit at the counter. Or in one of 7 booths. Great burgers, hand cut potatoes. ( sooo good!) even better staff and service. Oh! And right next to airport. If you’re flying in or out, make time for this throwback gem.
Great diner. Has that small town feel to it, considering it only has about 8 booths and a few more seats at the bar. The food was great, and the coffee was marginally better than most diner coffee, since they get it from a local-ish place rather than using the pre-made packages.
This is a great place for breakfast. Good food with huge portions! Their Eggs Benedict is so good. My husband also really likes the cinnamon french toast.
We live out of town and stayed at a hotel near by wanted a nice breakfast so we Came here for Food was excellent! Have it 4 instead of 5 because I wasn’t a fan of how owner was talking to staff and a person who looked like a regular loyal customer. The other staff was great super friendly.
Nice cozy little dinner with good food and classic mom and pop diner atmosphere (which is authentic: see photo)
This little diner looks like it is so run down, but the food was great! We had breakfast and we made plans to come back the next day. So don't let the exterior keep you from going in. Go in and enjoy!
The parkway diner is the quintessential dining experience. Prompt attentive service, fantastic locally sourced food, a caring and friendly staff.
Drown your hangover is a bottomless cup of coffee as you eat farm fresh eggs with sugar house direct maple syrup and top it off with a steaming pile of delicious home made hash.
If you need breakfast or lunch. You should stop here.
At 10 am on a Sunday, there was a 20 minute wait for seating, but once we placed our orders we had our food in like 10 minutes! And it was delicious! 2 thumbs up!
Love this place! They have the best chocolate chip pancakes. Be sure to go earlier rather than later on Sundays since they get busy fast (for good reason!) Highly recommended!
Had a side of home fries and corned beef hash...plenty for breakfast! Real potatoes (red skins to prove it), nicely seasoned, and very reasonably priced! Homemade hash was very tasty and crispy!
Food is so good compared to what you pay for it. They will customize anything too! My husband gets sausage gravy on his homefries. Delicious place to go to breakfast, and tastier than some of the other places in the area.
If you haven't already been to the Parkway, I suggest you find the time! Excellent food for breakfast and lunch. The staff are courteous and professional. The menu offers a choice for everyone. Best breakfast anywhere!!
Awesome, but don't tell anyone I don't want to wait in lines
What can I say. As Good as usual. I usually go for lunch but this time I brought a friend for breakfast. I had the eggs benedict and it was good. My friend had a couple eggs with bacon. The service was fast .
Classic old school diner.
My benedict was floating in hollandaise. Too much. The sauce was good, but overpowering. English muffin was underdone.
The place needs a good cleaning. The tables are dirty, and only get a cursory wipe between seatings.
Service was mediocre. It's seemed that the staff was not excited to be there.
Great food on the menu and daily specials. Awesome service! The wait staff is very attentive and friendly. Food was delicious. Would highly recommend a visit.
Never been to Vermont, ordered a Medium Rare Steak... It was the Best!!! Sir flip Sir, done. Bought a shirt there to remember the place, Great Place to eat Breakfast after a long flight. About 10mins walk from BTV Airport.
Best breakfast in the US! We can’t wait to return to Vermont so we can eat here!! If you order the pancakes, be ready to feed a small village after you’re done!!
Good food, good service clean bathrooms. Very very small. Sausage, hamburger, bacon, hash, cornbeef hash were good. You can see the chef cooking your meal.
Excellent from food to service. The food selections were made from scratch.
Food was great my homemade cornbeef hash red bliss homefries and eggs n toast were all outstanding. It's a small place that cooks fresh nothing frozen good food.
Down home diner with fab service and breakfast food!
Excellent diner where you can try the chipped beef in gravy!
Phenomenal food. Super friendly owner. Great prices. If I had to eat here for every meal for the rest of my life, that would be fine with me.
We've been going here every once in a while for years. It's a good basic diner: nothing fancy, with a fairly short menu and friendly service. They have some options for vegetarians, gluten-free eaters, and probably other people with restricted diets.
On our most recent visit, I was surprised to see a barbequed seitan (vegetarian "wheat meat") sandwich on the menu and tried it. I expected a defrosted patty of some kind, but what I got was some of the best seitan I've had. When I complimented it to the waitress, she mentioned that they make the seitan there, their own recipe. It's a great option even if you're not a vegetarian.
My more meat-friendly family also really enjoyed their food (hamburger, chocolate chip pancakes, bacon, omelette, gluten-free toast, etc). The Parkway is a good, solid diner choice.
Looked run down / closed from the outside, but it was hopping inside! I squeezed in at the counter, and had a good meal. They know what they're doing making breakfast and burgers. Didn't seem accessible for people with wheelchairs or similar.
Always amazing food, and always surprised when the check comes and it's less expensive than expected. Love parkway! Make sure to stop here if you want an amazing diner experience.
Waitress was very nice. Food was cold
Old school diner feel with a clean atmosphere and attentive staff. Small menu , but all reliable food . Great breakfast spot
Great diner food. Fast and friendly service. I will go back, however-the cook alway seems to have an attitude, publicly shaming customers if they complain about food or seat themselves rather than waiting for a server to sit them. His behavior is childish...
Perfect place to wait for your flight at Burlington Airport !
The food was excellent and so was the service!
Simple. Nice people. Decent prices and the food is delicious. Went to us the bathroom which was practically in the kitchen and was happy to see a clean kitchen and very well kept bathrooms lol
Def. Recommend!
Best breakfast in town
The food here is amazing. The diner itself is old fassioned and authentic but slightly run down. The food far outweighs this though. If you havent been, you should try it here!
Fluffy Pancakes! Delish rye bread for ham/Swiss. Excellent cole slaw. May not look like much from the outside, but inside is beautifully restored or maintained.
Good Food, good service, clean, outdoor option, good coffee.
This is a great old fashion diner. The service is excellent and the food is just what you would expect. This is one of my favorite area diners.
Good food! Great service. Pancakes are HUGE!! French toast was delicious. As was the coffee. We will be back!
Food was good , decent portions and price.
Small place , a old train car . Was a 5-10 minute wait which im usually to impatient for but waited and it was worth it
Best hamburger in ages. Yummy. Seasoned potatoes much better choice than fries. Despite being very busy staff was attentive
Was a really nice spot for breakfast with bigger than expected portions for our meals. Left with a full stomach and the price was very reasonable.
Always great breakfast food, sometimes a long wait if you need a booth. If you're willing to take a bar seat (and I would argue it's better), it's fantastic.
The food was good the staff was very friendly, it took quite a while for our breakfast to come but in their defense it was pretty busy.
Friendly service. Good food. Reasonable price for the area. Small Mom and Dad sort of place with vintage style and architecture. Enjoy.
This place is an institution. Great food, great staff and a firm reminder that locally owned restaurants are the best. Fabulous for breakfast or lunch!
Great food and prices are good, staff is awesome and good at keeping the flow moving. Get here early small place and fills up fast but worth the wait.
Great little eatery.
Old school dining car diner done right! Friendly staff. Limited booth seating with counter service. We try to go there every time we're in the area for breakfast.
Awesome food. Really cool place. A lot of history in Burlington. Definitely give them a try if you haven’t!!!
Great diner food, served quick, good service. The diner was very noisy when we were there, difficult to carry on a conversation.
Awesome old school diner, from the sign outside to the counter and stools within. This place has the best greasy bacon/sausage egg and cheese sandwich.
Affordable and quick breakfast and lunch plates. Nice place to stop. It's cozy and fills up quickly, but worth the small wait.
I had a good meal but what stood out for me was that I got there while they were closing and they still accommodated me. That's great customer service!!!!
Great local breakfast spot. Get there early, seating is limited but worth the wait.
Great breakfast food at great prices but be prepared to wait and to sit REAL close to the other diners as this place is tiny and gets full quick.
It was great very friendly. Food was good and the price is right. Close to BVT airport also. Walking distance even in snow.
One of my favorite New England diners, all the ingredients are fresh and local, the food is great, and the service is fantastic.
This place is fantastic! The food is awesome and the service was great. Love the atmosphere of the old diner.
The food was amazing as always. Friendly atmosphere. Waitresses were always there when needed.
Excellent food great wait staff didn't have to wait long even though they were very busy the food was excellent again well worth the trip

Cute diner with a great atmosphere. Each time we pass through, the service is great and the food is tasty.
Love diners, food is always exceptional and Parkway didn't disappoint. Fantastic food and service.
Ridiculous good food. Pancakes bigger than the plate. Friendly staff, fast service.
Stopped here for breakfast on a busy Saturday morning after driving through the night - service was quick and the food was delicious.
Great selection of food, price is fair. Diner friendly atmosphere . . .
Smile when you enter . . .😃 …
The double bacon cheeseburger is HUGE, and juicy and delicious. Best burger ive eaten in ages..
Love this place if you don't mind waiting some times the food is that good there's a line out the door most Sunday mornings
Decent breakfast corn beef hash was made fresh but way too salty. Friendly service.
This place is right outside the bus station. I was told the pancakes are good and my egg sandwich was good, too. Would recommend.
Nice American diner with great breakfast meals and coffee! Service is always fast and the beef hash is very good!
Superb service and the breakfast sausage links are the best I have ever had and I have been eating breakfast all around the country and in Germany for 50 years
Perfect diner menu, tasty breakfast, charming staff, check out the history...we will be back!
The food's good. I like to go there for breakfast it can get pretty crowded and sometime there's a wait.
So happy this place opened back up!!
Old time diner. Breakfast was great. Waitress was awesome. Our new favorite diner.
An awesome place for diner with neat historical significance to it. Very friendly staff and tasty food.
Awesome food. Large portions. All from local farms. Great "diner" experience.
Food is good, the staff is great - get there early if you want a table
This place looks like a diner from the outside, but the food is good, service is good and I felt like it was a ray of sunshine.
Hands-down the best diner in Burlington. If you manage to catch the sausage gravy special, make sure you get it.
We love this diner, for breakfast and lunch. Breakfast time is a very busy time on Sundays, but worth the wait!
Really good food. I was expecting some homemade pies or cakes but no dessert options.
Awesome breakfast including gluten free toast, and definitely get the ceddar and scallions on the homefries.
Food was great, portions generous. Services fast. Waitresses tennative. Endless coffee.
Great Diner! Great Service! Great Food!

The waitresses are a bit racist and rude, but they make some great pancakes.
Delicious and quick. It's a dinner that is actually like a dining car, very nice.
Great place for breakfast and lunch. Do stop by, you won't be disappointed.
The veggie benedict is excellent.
Standard diner fare, decent price. The hash browns were way oversalted, but it happens.

Food isn't bad but for the price you really don't get much.
Awesome stop for lunch. Tried the VT burger with bacon and apple slices. So tasty!
There isn't very much room to sit down so you have to get there early but believe me the food is fantastic well worth the wait
You can never go wrong here. I have never been disappointed with my food here.
I'm not saying the food isn't very good, I'm saying bring something to read because it takes forever - especially during rush hours which for a breakfast/lunch place - is kind of always.
We enjoy this clean friendly diner. Great food
