Had an incredible dinner this past weekend! We tried the caviar, cheddar beignets, a couple of their incredible takes on classic cocktails, the half bird dinner with the onion, cucumber salad and greens and herbs and the biscuit with fruit for dessert. Staff were friendly, accommodating, and could answer any question we had. Service was quick but never rushed, very well timed. Unfortunately, despite an incredible dinner, just a few hours later I suffered from some pretty intense food poisoning which quite literally has left a bad taste in my mouth. Even with the less than desirable end to my evening, I do still recommend trying OCCO!

Came with two friends last weekend and shared a good selection of shareables.
Drinks were solid, un-fussy menu of classic cocktails and a solidly curated (read: not just hazy IPAs) beer list.
We shared an oyster assortment, the Irish Points with the house kimchi are top notch! Spicy pickles are a great balance of flavor and heat, collards with bacon are on point, and the whole roasted onion in sherry was a surprising delight. The meal was rounded off by tater tots that presented like something out of an elevated Jewish deli, and the wings which are a full drum to tip wing.
We finished with the carrot cake, which if you’re like me and don’t like raisins in the cake, was just what I needed.

Our first visit, and the restaurant lived up to advance reviews. The oysters were VERY fresh, and the selection was great. We had the fried chicken, (of course) with "the onion", greens, and beans. All top notch. The beignets were fluffy and savory sweet, (love that melted honey butter!) Nice variety on their drink and wine lists. Every staff member we encountered was charming and helpful, but special kudos to our server, Danny, who took care of us and made everything fun.

Last night, my family celebrated my 71st birthday at this amazing new restaurant, and it was fantastic in every way! We feasted on fried chicken (the very best we have had in Vermont other than at Misery Loves Company, which is owned by the same folks), oysters, fish & chips, and delicious cocktails! To top it off, our server was very professional and friendly, so it’s hard to imagine how our family dining experience could have been any better! Bravo to OCCO!

Love the concept and menu, ambience is great and staff was exceptional! Interesting wine list and affordable wine by the bottle… yes please! Everything was tasty and thoughtfully done. We prefer our dark meat chicken cooked for longer so that it has firmer texture, but that might just be a preference thing!

I’ve been telling everyone about onion city since I went last weekend. Phenomenal service, a confident yet approachable menu, and excellently made cocktails. The kitchen came out during the meal to ask how things were going which was much appreciated. I wouldn't have thought to eat oysters with kimchi but it’s such a perfect match! And I definitely recommend “the onion” as a surprising side. I can’t wait to go back!

Fantastic date night dinner for 2. We tried all 6 varieties of the oysters and enjoyed comparing the briny flavors. And then on to caviar with potato chips, cus we're ballin, right? So tasty! The 2 piece fried chicken was juicy and crisp, and the honey with it had me nearly licking my plate. Plenty for 2 of us. The range of sides should please anybody, pick 2. I definitely wanna get the fish and chips next time, and then save some room for the deserts. Will recommend and we will definitely be back.

On a Sunday night, there were a few options for us to seek out dinner. As we are big fans of Misery Loves Company, we went nearby to Onion City Chicken & Oyster. The staff are courteous and attentive. Our small party started with drink: margarita, lemonade and Venetian Ginger Ale. The margarita was a classic, served on ice with salt on the rim; subtle and delightful with the dishes we had.
We enjoyed the tater tot with roe, the salty pop of the roe made this a fun play on fried potatoes. The cheddar beignets and honey butter were eaten so quickly once they arrived at our table; pillowy with light cheddar taste. With 3 adults and a child, we ordered the whole chicken - a bucket of fried chicken with 5 sides. This was more than enough food as we took home several pieces because we were full. We liked the sides- including kimchi, buttermilk biscuits, collards, vegetable casserole, and roasted onion - and were full by the end. Our daughter enjoyed the hot dog and the house potato chips.
The restaurant has a wonderful aesthetic, an inviting place for the solo eater to small group.

Perfectly fine. Staff was friendly and attentive, which made up for the couple of errors made by our server. Lobster roll was DELISH, fried chicken wasn't my jam. Recommend checking out!

Super impressed with this new gem in Winooski. It's menu is uncomplicated, full of easy-to-share classic dishes made with high quality ingredients. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in the area!

Places like this (and Misery Loves Company) is what makes me think Winooski is punching above it’s weight, in the best way. The oysters were delicious, especially with the kimchi! Do yourself a favor and get the dirty martini with olive oil and make sure you order a second serving of honey butter to go with your biscuits and chicken - apply very liberally and bask in the cozy mix of comfort food and the historic Winooski Block building.
We don’t go on many date nights, so I’m thrilled that we were able to walk up and get a seat at the bar on opening night. Absolutely awesome experience. Thank you!

Great find. In town to drop of college student. Walking distance from AirBnB.
Great food. Fish was awesome as was Chicken. Try the daily onion special. You won’t regret it.
Staff very friendly. (Waiter, recent transplant from Texas very personable.)
