Reviews of Little Morocco Cafe
Meghan Sweeney
Food was wonderful and I found the prices extremely reasonable. For three people who WAYyyyy over ordered to try everything we wanted it came to $130. The taste of Morocco appetizer gave us many options but we definitely needed more bread. Ended up with 2 extra orders which was only $1 each. The hummus is heavenly.
Our main dishes were so good and so satisfying. Definitely get the mint tea. It’s sweetened and was very tasty. Also got the chef special shake. Make sure you are okay with banana flavor, but definitely worth getting.
Staff is so friendly. At a time when it’s hard to find places that care about your experience, these folks went above and beyond. VERY clean too

Fantastic Morrocan food and a very cool restaurant atomosphere. The saffron rice with pine nuts and raisins pleasantly surprised me. The chicken kebab was incredibly tender and delicious and cooked to perfection. The venue was BYOB although we didn't learn that until after we we got there. The music was a little loud and probably odd to someone not used to Arabic music. All in all it was a great spot and we will return again.

This place is special!
Very considerate experience and the focus is on the food! Everything was fresh and prepared with care! Best hummus I've had, best lamb dish of any kind I've had! The meatballs...
You cannot experience these flavors just anywhere so we will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu!! Cannot recommend enough, if you like Indian, if you like Asian, if you like Mediterranean, Turkish, if you like any food give this a try!

The kefta tagine and Zaazaa shake were awesome! Cozy atmosphere too. I think the chicken kebab could use a teeny bit more marinating and salt, but my friend liked it as it was.
Irene Rojas-Carroll
Absolutely love this place! The food is SO GOOD (the lamb tagine and vegetable couscous are our favorites, as are the dips) and you get a good amount for the price. Just so flavorful and tender, and it's clear they put a lot of care into cooking and the restaurant itself. Friendly service and it's lovely to eat at a family-owned and operated restaurant. The music is great, and it's not too loud inside. Our favorite restaurant in Burlington!
Naeela Djemil
Amazing food and service! We came here for a late dinner while visiting Burlington and me and my husband cleaaaned the plates. Would definitely come again to explore other options in the menu!

Wow! I absolutely loved everything about my experience here. The service was warm, attentive and quick. The food was wowwww SO good. I will definitely be coming back. It’s nice to know there’s a delicious, authentic moroccan restaurant. Best hummus, best pitas, the dressing on our salad was amazing!
Anne Miller
Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner on 11/12/2022. We ordered all vegetarian dishes -- appetizer platter of eggplant, bell pepper, and hummus -- a salad, and vegetarian tagine. Teenagers enjoyed it and the traditional music. Service was very good. We will be back.
Sandra Mehdian
Needed to find a vegan friendly restaurant for a pickier eater. Very exited to try Moroccan food, I actually got food envy even though my kabob was very delicious. Definitely get the tea. You also get a lot of food

Have driven past so many times and finally came in. I’m so mad I didn’t come sooner. Absolutely delicious and a great feel inside. Will be coming back!

By far, best cultural cuisine in Burlington- completely mind boggling how this cuisine goes under the radar so frequently. I really wish Moroccan food was more common within America. I will be back!!
Doug Varney
We had Taste of Morocco, Seafood Tagine, Chicken Tagine and Truffle Fries. They all were wonderful and filling. The staff was especially friendly and accommodating. We WILL return.
Diane Stowell
Interesting new restaurant. The Taste of Morocco Platter has 3 great flavors served with fresh pita. The Seafood Tagine was good. The Vegetarian Tagine was small and very bland. Overall the food was good, not great and overpriced. Service was okay but they are definitely understaffed. BYOB but be sure to read the "rules" on the website - $5 for first glass of one per person and $10 for second glass of wine per person. Separate rules for beer by the ounce.

Been here 3 times and each time has been a wonderful experience! The waiter is extremely friendly and very knowledgable and passionate of the food they have. Meats are cooked to perfection. You MUST try their lamb and fish! Their homemade hummus is one of the best I've ever had, and that's coming from someone who has lived in the middle east for 9 years where the kings of Hummus live.
Finally, their coffee with 15 different spices.. I can't even put it into words. Just try it and thank me later :)
I have recommended several people from work yo visit this place and have not once let them down.
I do have a short video uncovering the lamb and fish dishes, but unfortunately it is too large of a size to post it here..

This is a gem in Burlington VT, where Vietnamese and other Asian style restaurants have taken off, it is refreshing to have a Moroccan cuisine. My family and I went here for the first time for a birthday celebration. The food is not spicy with heat, it is spicy with aromatic spices. The hummus is amazing, the portions are just right and we shared two entrees between three people. The owner and chef came out personally to greet us. When he found out it was a birthday celebration, he made jasmine green tea especially for our party and sent out complimentary dessert. Please be patient, if they are busy, as right now, it is just the owner/chef and one wait staff on duty, because he is just getting the business going, open just a little over a year now.
Margaret Paul
They serve very tasty and healthy food. Great service and location.
Beau “Beau” Sheldon
Little Morocco was a fantastic dinner for a very reasonable price! We loved the black olive caviar, and both the lamb shank couscous and lamb shank tagine were bursting with flavor with the lamb falling off the bone, so tender and flavorful. The vegetables and couscous were richly spiced and perfectly cooked, and the Arabic coffee was hot and spiced deliciously. Our service was excellent and pleasant with timely delivery of our food and drinks and check, which was around $100 for three people (3 coffees, 1 tapas, and three entrees - two entrees had leftovers!) before tip. I absolutely recommend them for a cozy and tasty meal that's well worth the price!

Totally recommend this place. It is very cosy and the food is just amazing, feels like a home cooked meal at grandma’s. I had the chicken tagine and it just melted in my mouth. Loved it!
Taylor Ralph
Very nourishing, complex, yummy food. We had the lamb, chicken, and meatball tagine and each was exquisite! Thank you little Morrocco cafe :)
Sandi Omanovic
Great location, wonderful interior and catchy moroccan music. Everything from the food to service was great. Four stars because they charge you when you BYOB but don't offer alcohol. No other place does this and seems like a bad business practice to make money on alcohol without getting a liquor license. If they get rid of this and focus more on the customer than making money then I will change my review.

My husband Thao LOVES this place & took me here today. The owner Ali was beyond friendly & welcoming. The food was amazing quality & full of flavor with a great portion. It was a great vibe. We will definitely be coming back soon!
MrCrain31
We went with three people, each one ordered something different so we all could try multiple things . The flavor combinations was just amazing. I wasn't able to get pictures, but the food looked as good as it tasted. This place is beautiful with a wonderful atmosphere. The only downside was the time it took to get our order, but well worth it. This restaurant definitely deserves a 5 star rating.
Jonathan Bradley
I truly enjoyed my meal here. The lamb was tender but yet still well cooked. The humas is fantastic. A bit pricey, but I am finding Burlington to be pricey. I had the entire place to myself when I ate, but I am an early eater. I get the impression people tend to eat later here. It's a nice date ambiance, our anniversary. I will come back and try their other lamb dish but probably not for a while.
Kerry Banks
I went for the second time recently with my son and we had a delicious meal! The Moroccan appetizer platter is a great way to start your meal. I'm vegan and found many choices but opted for the vegetable tagine. So good!
zoyaaleesha
If you want to enjoy home-cooked meal then this is the place to come. Would recommend lamb shank. Overall good experience.
Audrey Scott
This was an overall exceptional experience. I’ve been in the service industry for 8 years, and this restaurant is incredible. We came in for dinner and were met by kind smiles and a beautiful atmosphere. The food was outstanding and perfectly flavorful. Our server, who I believe is also working BOH was super kind and warm. Anyways, we left happy and full. 10/10 would recommend for any date night.
Alex Haley
The food is amazing! I think the hummus and pita was the best I’ve ever had. Warm and friendly atmosphere too. Definitely check this place out
Dan Kirk
Wonderful food, friendly service, such a gem to have in our neighborhood. The meatballs, lamb shank, and chicken were all so delicious!
Siera Barton
Love, love, love this place! Delicious food including the best hummus I’ve ever had. Highly recommend

We are so blessed to have a Moroccan restaurant in the area! Thank you so much for a great dinner and perfect tea

I traveled to Morocco back in 2015 and have missed the food for years. I was excited about seeing this cafe open. This truly is authentic Moroccan food and I would recommend anyone who loves Moroccan food to come have a bite. I could not imagine anyone not getting the best of the best here in Vermont.
Graham Turk
Wow! What a hidden gem. Can’t believe we have an A+ Moroccan place in Burlington. Super friendly staff and loved the music. Go expand your culinary horizons. Favorites: the couscous dish and appetizer sampler.
Emma Wall Kouri
Dinner out on a Monday night was made extra special by the friendly service, inviting atmosphere, and the incredible food. Favorite dishes include the Moroccan fries, the appetizer sampler, and the tagines. Fabulous from A to Z, and they do take out!! It’s not to be missed. Don’t forget BYOB!
Melissa C
Lovely gem of a cafe in ONE with a cozy atmosphere, great service and tasty menu! We tried the appetizer platter, one of the tagines and desserts all of which were delicious and allowed for leisurely family style dining. The hummus and almond desserts were amazing and they integrated fresh, seasonal vegetables into their recipes. Will definitely be back!
Travis Counter
This is exactly what I was craving. We are a family of 5 and have a picky child in our house, so when we try something new we hope that she will like it. She loved the saffron rice, chicken and hummus. The rest of us loved everything we got. The food was cooked perfectly, the service was also excellent. We will definitely be back and make this a regular spot.
Michael Cartwright
This was a great find in Burlington, VT. It was our first time trying Moroccan food, and it did not disappoint. The food was flavorful, and the gentleman serving and preparing food was very friendly and fast moving. We had the Chicken Couscous and the Chicken Kabob, and both were excellent. I highly recommend this place whether you have had Moroccan food or are trying something new!
Joe Caramadre
Was in town for the evening. Intended to go to the Vietnamese restaurant down the street but the wait was very long. Saw Moroccan Cafe and decided to try. So glad we did!! Wonderful food. Really friendly service. I will plan to go there the next time. Sometimes it’s better to be lucky.
Carrie Cruz
This was our first time at Little Morocco café but it certainly won’t be our last! We started with the hot Moroccan tea which was delightfully minty and slightly sweet. We next had of the appetizer sampler which was absolutely delicious! We couldn’t decide which of the three plates we liked the best and our waiter happily brought us more bread while we gobbled up every last bit. My husband had the lamb shank tagine and I had the kefta tagine… each was spectacular, well presented and flavorful in its own way. My husband had the recommended dessert of almond pastry which was not too sweet and the perfect ending to a perfect meal.
Thomas Novosel
Excellent food and excellent service. The owners and staff are all extremely kind and courteous. The food was amazing, lamb that melted in your mouth and vegetables that were soft and buttery.
The Black Olive Cavier was extremely good! The Lamb shank couscous was what I ordered and what I will recommend highly. The Arabic Coffee smelled wonderful and was just what I wanted on a cold day.
This is one of the best places to get food around in Burlington. If someone told me the name of another place I would likely argue that Little Morocco Cafe is the best for a big warm meal.
Little Morocco Cafe is a must have and a must stop if you are in Burlington!
Pat Madigan
Everything we got was amazing, probably the best hummus I've ever had. The Kefta was delicious, superrrr moist and flavorful, the chicken couscous was cooked perfectly, and the raspberry lemon cake made my partner and I fight for the last bite.
Seriously, go here.
Jane Stromberg
Absolutely amazing food! Really love the energy, decor and the food was delicious 🤤 …
Lisa Hardy
Delicious!! Feels like being invited to a warm and loving home for a delicious lunch or dinner. The hummus is amazing- great seasoning and texture-served with soft, warm pita. French fries where you can actually taste the potato! Not greasy at all .Everything delicious. Great homespun decor. Yummy tea. Great owners. So nice. Go here immediately!!! It's a teeny bit pricier than what we would like, but I think that may be because of individualized prep of meals.
Elena Cabot
High Quality ingredients are a must when I dine out.
I found them here, along with very authentic cuisine. Service was excellent. The tangine dishes were very good! The fish was melt your mouth fresh. Vegetables were fresh. Spices were incredible. Even the coffee had beautiful aromas of cardamom. The mint tea was out of this world. The french fries were some of the best french fries I’ve ever had. This dinner was one of the best meals I’ve had in my life.
Liana Dagdavaryan
We've gotten take-out here several times now. Food is always great. The saffron rice is my favorite, but the vegetable tagine is also great. My husband always gets the chicken kebab, which he loves. Definitely recommend.

We were delighted by the wonderfully subtle flavors and well prepared foods. Among the four of us we had a good variety of dishes, equally tasty and with a mix of spices that kept us guessing. I can recommend Little Morocco for a real treat.
One dish that many have mentioned is the hummus, which is very different than many others, a silky smooth concoction with great taste. Make sure to try it.
I read some of the lower ranked reviews, and the major complaint seems to be about the corking fees. I can understand people's concern, and I can understand the problem the owners face with increased liability costs.
While having a drink with dinner is nice, for me the food is more important, and I think you will be missing a treat if you let the corking fee put you off. Next time I go, I intend to try the mint tea with the meal.

The food was wonderful. I do not think there are many good Mediterranean style restaurants in Burlington but I would rate this place as the real deal. I agree with Pete Bruhn that the service was a little slow but for me that made it a more relaxing evening with my wife. With that delicious food, I expect the business will grow and the service will get better as they will be able to hire more staff. And the owner told me that they are waiting for the insurance to come through for the BYOB and that will be available shortly. That is a plus for me; I love BYOB.
Karen Eddy
Don't let the paper/pictures on the windows deter you. The restaurant is very nicely decorated, the atmosphere is very cozy, the service is friendly and attentive, and the food is fantastic!! Our party shared the Taste of Morocco Platter (the hummus was the best I've ever had). Our entrees were the Kefta Tagine and Chicken Couscous. Everything was hot, fresh and wonderfully spiced. I would highly recommend this restaurant. We will be back!
Iva M
Delicious! What a blessing to have this restaurant in Burlington. From the appetizers to the main dish everything was amazing. We cannot wait to go back and try other items in their menu. Totally recommend this place!
Alex Downs
Excellent cuisine tagine was phenomenal, server’s knowledge of the food and Moroccan culture was unparalleled. The lamb shank is a must. Please get the mint tea for true cultural appreciation prior to your meal.
Joyce Space
The food was delicious, especially the sampler appetizers. It was a bit pricey and we were taken aback when we saw that we had been charged $2 extra when we twice asked for more pita bread to complete our meal, once for the appetizer and again for the main meals. The atmosphere was very interesting and the man who owns the restaurant was super friendly. Service was immediate. We highly recommend Little Morocco Cafe.
Mark Massucco
We had an unbelievably flavorful meal from Little Morocco Cafe this past weekend. It had been on our "want to try" list in the Burlington area, and the only regret we had was waiting this long to finally go. The Kefta Tagine is a must try, and an order without hummus would be a mistake. We will be back in the very near future. Thanks for an unforgettable meal.

I just went last night, with no experience of Moroccan food. I had the chicken breast kebab and let me tell you, I loved it so much. I just had surgery (hip surgery) and I’m using a wheelchair for moving around outside of my home and the staff were so nice and showed us a table that I could sit at comfortably. and my hip gets inflamed but when I asked if I could have an ice pack they brought one for me. I was with my mom and uncle and they both loved what food they got as well as the decor like the art and I also thought it was beautiful. We had so much fun and when we were leaving the waiter helped me get out the door. Complements to the waiter and the chef. Me and family loved it here. It’s really great 👍
Susan Polgreen
Food was outstanding! The atmosphere and service were A++
Kenn K
Everything about this place exceeded our expectations. The owners obviously take pride in the time they take, using only the finest quality ingredients, recreating their family recipes to create wonderful dishes that burst with incredible authentic Moroccan flavors.
And don’t worry if you don’t have an adventurous pallet. There’s nothing in Moroccan food that’s strange or weirdly prepared.
We’re going back tonight for a special anniversary dinner and can’t wait for even more mouth-watering Moroccan cuisine tongue-gasms!
Go taste for yourself what sets the Little Moroccan Cafe apart from the usual restaurant fare— you will be *very* pleased!
Kevin Dubrule
Astounding food and service. Just recently discovered little Morocco not too long ago, and it’s too bad on my part for sleeping on this gem in the old north end! The owner is so genuine and his food is incredible. For sure the best hummus around! Don’t sleep on this place like I did!

Found it after getting lost. Great very friendly family cafe. Good food spiced to order
Betsaida Alcantara
This is one of the best meals we’ve had in Vermont. The food was beautifully cooked with delicacy and flavor and you can tell the cook is highly trained. The saffron rice was out of this world. The chicken tagine and the chicken kabob were perfectly seasoned. The Moroccon coffee and dessert were delicious. We can’t wait to return!
Duncan Wallace
Amazing food and friendly service. We got the hummus appetizer, truffle fries, Chicken Tagine, and Lamb Couscous. The meat for the lamb entree fell right off the bone and melted in my mouth. My wife and I highly recommend this cafe.

As my late grandmother put it simply (and felt compelled to share out loud for a visiting patron to hear at the time of dinner), the food is "delicious." Little did I know our night out almost a week ago would be the last time with her as she passed suddenly a few days later, but in hindsight I would not have picked a different place to go. Recommended by my uncle, my grandmother had wanted to give Little Morocco a try for some time. She was always up to try new flavors and appreciated the many authentic ethnic tastes offered in our diverse community. She was also a tough critic and not easy to please so to hear her positive affirmations of the food that night was a testament to the quality of cuisine offered at Little Morocco. She got the Lamb Shank, my girlfriend got the Veg Couscous and I got the Tagine. All great dishes. It wasn't too busy on a Monday night but the service was nonetheless amazing - offering us many tastes 'on the house' throughout our dinner. The name is lost on me - but get the lemon dessert pastries out of this world! Thank you, Little Morocco, for this last, and sure to be lasting positive memory with my grandmother. I look forward to returning to eat here once again someday.

I’ve eaten Moroccan food in a variety of restaurants, mostly in NYC, and this place is a stand-out. Everything here was absolutely delicious, from the appetizers right through to coffee and dessert. Just phenomenal. The chicken kabab and saffron rice were so delicious. And the server was charming and helpful. Love this place. I’d be a regular if I lived in Burlington.
Janet Stambolian
For the second time, I ate dinner at this lovely Moroccan restaurant in the Old North End. Ali was his usual charming and hard-working self, and our meal was out of this world. I have eaten MANY chicken kabob dinners in my life, but rarely have I had one that was as finely spiced and delicious as this one tonight. The saffron rice and salad that accompanied the dinner were the perfect complement to the delectable kabobs. Of course, having freshly-baked pita bread to eat with our meal made everything even better. I would agree with another reviewer who said that the hummus was some of the best they'd ever had. And who wouldn't love to finish the meal off with some fresh cookies and mint tea, lovingly poured from on high by Ali! Support this fantastic restaurant and these very hard-working folks--you will be glad you did!!
Sophie Goobic
We we're very impressed with the food and service at the family owned and operated Little Morocco Cafe. Delicious hummus, zaalouk, tagines, and couscous with entrees in generous amounts. We also loved the pastries after our meal. Highly recommended and will be returning soon.
Andria lovejoy
The best meal! The seafood tangine was exquisite. The saffron rice was perfect. We will bring all of our out-of-town guests heret impress. I really hope Burlington supports this restaurant. We need this quality dining experience. The service was so friendly and special.
Robin Diddams
Fantastic food! Excellent Service and great ambiance! Being from an actual international city, I was spoiled by all the amazing food, most places in Vermont just cant compare, but this restaurant is fantastic! Service is fast, friendly and all the recommendations were out of this world. Bring your own beer and get the taste of Morocco. you wont regret it!
Dorothy Kinney-Landis
I live in the Old North End in Burlington and saw this place pop up a few months ago, but only went for the first time last night. We got the Taste or Morocco platter, which comes with an assortment of dips, hummus, and pita, as well as the lamb shank couscous and kefta tagine. Everything was seasoned very well, the lamb was super tender, and the vegetables were definitely appropriate for the season (cagggabe, brussel sprouts, onions) which is nice to see when eating out. Also, the hummus and the zaalouk are amazing.
Im very happy to have gone here and will be going back. Our server (also the cook) was very friendly. Moroccan food doesn't really have a foothold in Burlington, but its such a great cuisine that this restaurant prepares excellently. Ill be having hummus dreams until next time.
Rhonda Kjos
Was thrilled to discover this restaurant; lived in Casablanca as a young girl & tasting Little Morocco’s food took me back over 50 years!
Started with the 3 plate appetizer of hummus, roasted tomatoes, and roasted eggplant—unbelievably delicious smoky flavor. Next was the Chicken Tagine; tender meat, fall off the bone. Seasoned with preserved lemon, green olives, and spices. Saffron rice as side cooked to perfection. Delicious Moroccan mint tea. Flourless almond cookie. Service was wonderful! Family run restaurant in Burlington’s Old North End.
Don’t miss this gem of a restaurant; best meal I’ve had in a long time.
Anja Jones
I visited here for dinner last night with a friend. It was my first time, and I must say I was impressed. I wasn't sure what to expect when I pulled into the side parking lot, because the restaurant was at the front of a giant gray warehouse-like building. I must say, I was pleasantly surprised. The interior is a somewhat plain square setting with bench and table arrangements. Moroccan lanterns and pillows decorate the area for an authentic touch. It wasn't super crowded for a weekend night, so we got service right away. I ordered the kefta kabab. Amazing but be warned the portion sizes are huge. With that said, I was starving and finished everything except a few fries! For dessert, I got an almond ghriba. It's BYOB but they charge you an uncorking fee. Our server, Khalil, was such a delight. The owner came out to meet us and thanked us for dining. The whole experience was delightful. I will be moving to the area in the future and told them get to know my face because I will definitely be back!
Pete Bruhn
Food was delicious but service was lacking slightly due to only 1 employee running the entire front of house (seating new customers, busing tables & being the waiter). I expect that they were low on staff that day, perhaps also since they just opened. That said, we loved the food and will definitely be back! Another thing to note is that they do not serve any alcohol/beer and it is not BYOB, so take that into consideration. I'll update this review after seeing how the service is next time.
Chris Reilly
Rode my bike by here this morning, and it smelt so good I came in tonight with my family. Everything was fantastic. We couldn’t decide on one appetizer so we got the salad and Moroccan sampler. All delicious. And the pita for dipping was so good. I assume it was homemade because it was on another level from any other pita I’ve had before. Got the Lamb Tagine, Chicken Cous Cous, and Kefta Kebab, and I would recommend all of them. I especially liked the lamb. All in all it was some of the best food I’ve had in Burlington l, and it was a perfect amount for 4 people. I couldn't stop picking the last bits of meat off the bone and dipping bread in the remaining sauce because it was too good not to.
As for the BYOB policy, it’s very chill. One reviewer on here was complaining, but they really misconstrued it. $3 flat rate per person to bring beer in or $9 for the table to bring a bottle of wine. It’s not a major cost, still cheaper than buying beers off the menu. Just go here and get some good food, you won’t regret it.
Neily A. Jennings
Unique cuisine and a nice cozy atmosphere for a date or group get-together. I ordered veggie tagine, which was great, but will probably try a meat dish next time. The Moroccan mint tea is a perfect way to end the meal. Felt like a mini-escape from a cold Vermont night!

This is a nice addition to the Burlington restaurant seen.
The décor is unique Moroccan - hanging metal lanterns, photos of Morocco and shelves of clay dishes. It's dark and cozy.
We had the mixed plate appetizer - three dipping sauce with homemade pita. The sauces had very refined flavors. They were excellent.
After the appetizer, I could not wait to try the entrees. We ordered the seafood ($26) and vegetarian tangier ($16). They were served in interesting clay dishes with clay covers. Both, unfortunately, were lacking. Their flavors needed more intensity - more spice. My seafood dish was mostly white fish - 3 shrimp and bits of calamari. The rice that came with it was perfect. It was also served with vegetable side dish, we didn't care for it. It tasted and smelled like damp old wet grass. They would be better off serving more rice with the meals.
We finished with two dessert pastries (size of a medium cookie) - ground peanuts with lemon zest and chopped walnuts with honey both were powder covered pastries. The owner gave us the second dessert for free, We ate them with a wonderful sweet mint tea. Lovely!
Service was very good even thought there was only one server. He hustled and took good care of us.
They clearly have their hearts into this place and we appreciated the warmth, care and hospitality of the owner.
The reason I gave this 4 instead of 5 stars is their pricing, everything is overpriced for what you get by about $2 - $3. Our meal, without alcohol, including tip was $86 for two people. If they keep these prices, the entrees need to be a little larger and the flavors more developed.
Rose Castor
My fiancé and I stopped here for dinner and the service, the decor, and the food were delightful. The chicken tagine with rice was excellent. Our waiter was warm and friendly and brought out gluten free macaroons when he realized I couldn’t have the other pastries offered with the Arabic coffee. It’s exciting to know there’s some serious flavor popping up in the north end!
Greg Brand
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. We started with chakchouka (roasted red pepper) and zaalouk (roasted eggplant) with house-made pita. These were a delicious alternative to hummus, which was also good but more familiar. The chicken tagine was succulent with subtle spices. Our waiter was friendly and the atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Prices were reasonable. There's no alcohol on the menu, and I don't know if they plan to add that or if one can BYO. I look forward to eating there again.

I just returned from a fabulous trip to morocco. Wanted to find a restaurant in the states that would remind me of the fabulous cuisine I had there. This is a wonderful restaurant for the real thing. I highly recommend it.
Michael Shirk
I had such a great experience here. I remember seeing that a Moroccan restaurant was opening and was SO excited. Did not disappoint. The food was amazing. Khalil (I hope that is correctly spelled) provided excellent service. Delicious and friendly. I will be going back plenty of times as I’m lucky enough to live across the street!
Paul Marshall
Great place with an awesome atmosphere. Chef Noura's food was exceptional and authentic. We felt well taken care of by our server Khalil. The manager Ali came by to check how we were enjoying our meal. I had the chicken kebob and my date had the Moroccan Kofka. The Morroccan Orange Mango shake was delicious. A nice new gem for Burlington.
Nea Arentzen
I have nothing but amazing things to say about this hidden gem. Amazing service. Spectacular food. You can tell the spices are direct from Morocco. Lovely spot to find your culinary tongue.
Kirsten A
Great food, especially the hummus and zsa zsa shake. Good vegetarian options too. Service was great (though admittedly there were only a few tables when we went).
Katrin Tchana
This place is amazing! The best mint tea I've had this side of the Atlantic. Lamb Tagine to die for. The food is incredible and the atmosphere is warm and cozy. BYOB makes it very inexpensive meal for such high quality food. Lovely service as well.
Tiki Archambeau
Hands down delicious! We started with the Moroccan sampler which brought 3 small dishes of hummus and two tomato-based plates (one with an attractive taste of smokiness, the other more tomato oriented. The hummus was unlike any hummus I’ve tasted! Fresh, garlicky, sprinkled with herbs for a great presentation.
My wife and I then split the lamb tagine whole my son had the chicken kebab. The kebab was juicy with a hint of rosemary. Really yummy! Came with rice, French fries, and a little salad. Perfect kids dish! My son finished the chicken first - which is saying something.
The tagine was extremely tender. The meat fell off the bone. The sauce perfectly compliment the lamb and included almonds, apricots, boiled eggs and dates which added to the already flavorful plate.
Portions were fair. Prices a touch high.
Overall, we were so happy to eat this food! And to do so in our own neighborhood! The place is a gem. Worth a trek off the main American-food path of Church Street to take this in.

One of the most creative chefs in town steered me here. He was a bit nervous about going because he lived in Morocco for two years. He was very happy; 'It's the real deal'. The food is obviously prepared by a talented master chef. The hummus (7.99) was light, creamy, rich. I scarfed it down in about 30 seconds. The lamb shank tagine (24.99) was tender and delectable with a fine sauce and just perfect dried fruit. I pretty much despise walnuts but the owner host talked me into the Ghriba Gouz(3.99) which may be the lightest most satisfying pastry I've had in years. Nice, casually elegant, low lit setting; you can tell some care was put into the appearance including the bench seating on wall with little color light cutouts. They hope to soon have their BYOB license. The price is commensurate with the quality but it is pricey enough that it is hard to make it your regular, neighborhood place. I look forward to going back.

Great service, and a fair price for a VERY good portion of food, love the environment here

We had an absolutely gorgeous meal here. The taste of Morocco appetizer is an absolute must. Everything was so fresh and delicious and the atmosphere was lovely.
Glenn Kroll
I just picked up a bunch of dishes for dinner including lamb tangine, chicken coucous, seafood coucous, kefta kebobs and some side dishes and the zaa zaa and mango shakes. The portions were large and the food was all excellent. Everything was hot and ready right on time. If you like middle eastern/Moroccan food, this is something you must try.
George
Really excellent, reminded me of the food I had when traveling Morocco

We ate here last night and I must say at the top of the review that the food is outstanding! Every bite was delicious. Kudos to the chef for the delectable lamb shank. It positively melted in our mouths! It is a pricy $25 a serving for it but worth it.
The big bummer is that it's a BYOB restaurant but if you BYO, they charge like you are buying it from them! There is a $9 cork fee per bottle (they hand you a cork screw to do it yourself) and $3 per beer no glass offered.
It definitely deflated our enthusiasm when we received the bill despite being mentioned on the website (read that fine print before you dine folks!)
And if they're going for the moneyed crowd they're going to have to do something about the lighting. There are lovely unlit hanging lamps all over the restaurant and yet the single source of light in the dining room is a glaringly bright chandelier that makes you squint if you are unlucky enough to sit facing the dining room.
In the mostly empty restaurant we were not allowed to sit where we requested either - the waiter insisting we sit right next to the front door.
I'm hoping the owner reads this and reconsiders the micro-gouging.
Pho Hong down the street has been doing amazing business in the same neighborhood for a decade by not charging for BYO. Giving generous portions/great value and always being lovely and accommodating to the guest.
Those cheap little details go a long long way to making a customer want to return.
The chef at Little Morocco deserves to be beloved and the restaurant could be hopping all the time. I suspect these details are what are holding it back.
I hope they catch on and thrive.

Way to go on taking solid advice from a long time Burlington resident and also career professional chef. I have worked for small restaurants all of my adult life and i know exactly what is involved. I also know that snarky front of the house all too often blows it for the efforts of all.
The reviews here for the food and service are all great and I have no doubt that you will steadily grow a well deserved customer base in this small town largely devoid of international options. But you won't stay solidly busy because of the things I mentioned. I've watched enough businesses in the O.N.E. and elsewhere come and go because of little details such as these.
I didn't mean to imply that the lamb wasn't worth the price. In fact I emphatically insisted it is!
The cork fees however are ridiculous. I don't begrudge you a small fee but yours are off the rails.
Lastly, you chose to read this as all criticism and become defensive rather than to process it and either choose to use it to your advantage or ignore it. I made a few edits because some of your critique of my critique seemed reasonable. I toned it down. You're welcome. Good luck.

Delicious meal, excellent service. Just what the Old North End, and Burlington, need! Seafood and chicken tanginess, saffron rice, sampler app - all terrific! Give it a try. You will not be disappointed. Note: it is BYOB.
Justin Holden
I can't tell what was better, the food or the service. Everyone was incredibly friendly and welcoming. The food was to die for. Try all the apps. They're delicious, and the hummus is so smooth and creamy. The lamb won't disappoint. Can't wait to go back.

Fantastically flavored food! It was clearly prepared with attention and care. We had the kafta kebab, lamb tagine & veg tagine with the Moroccan sampler (split among 5 people). I would order the kafta kebab if I was eating alone/not sharing. BYOB available for a fee.

You know a place is special when even the crinkle-cut fries that come with the kefta kebab are cooked to perfection. Zaa Zaa Shake (walnuts, almonds, bananas, avocado, dates) is sinfully rich and delicious. Lamb Shank Tagine was caveman-big, fall-off-the-bone tender, and accompanied by delicious vegetables and dried fruit. Don't skip the tender cookies with just the right amount of rosewater.
5 stars for food
5 stars for service
5 stars for atmosphere

Been trying to visit this place for a little while now and today me and friend who also wanted to go there finally went. The place was amazing, the food incredible especially I loved the mint tea. Very quiet and the man who received us was very friendly and gave us a desert towards the end, very yummy. It was great to speak French with him as there is not much of café places in Vermont when you can speak another language than English. Merci pour l'accueil si impressionnant et professionnel. I will recommend it to everyone who wants to try new things. Give it a try 😊🇲🇦
Lawuo Dolo
The food was delicious and a friendly environment for sure. Nous reviendrons encore visiter et manger de nouveau. If you in Burlington, you should definitely check it out. And try the Moroccan mint tea :)
