If you have never tried this YOU SHOULD! Kid friendly! My daughters LOVED the food. We ordered the Lavish Bread, Hummus, lamb kebabs, swordfish kebab and the kids meatball meal. We were all pleasantly surprised by the flavor and ambiance. The girls said it was the BEST hummus they've ever had and would come back again and again. Also William J was a great server, attentive, caring and knowledgeable.

Everything was fantastic here. We asked for recommendations from the waiter and ordered exactly what he recommended. He did a great job describing the dishes and it was clear he himself loved the food. Both dishes were delicious and complemented each other well. Our water glasses never got even close to empty, and our food came out very quickly. And it was also very reasonably priced for the area. Highly recommended!

Absolutely loved the food. Sat outside on a beautiful evening and got myself a lamb eggplant dish. I was worried that it would be heavy but actually it was not a bit greasy or heavy. Even after a full meal, you don't feel groggy or anything. Great light hearty meal to fill stomach. Super tasty too.

I had an awesome experience at this cozy restaurant. Super clean and very classy. Good and service are great. I had a lentil soup and falafel for appetizer and lamb kebabs for dinner. Lastly, I loved the menu Fe and the Turkish coffee. Their selection of wine is great too.

We were lucky to get in here on a Saturday night without a reservation. We got the last table available and it didn't take long to understand why they were so busy. Service was excellent, multiple employees stopped by the table at various times throughout the meal to ask if we needed anything and to bring items we ordered to us. Kebabs were excellent, we did the mixed grill to be able to try as much as possible. They have the real deal Raki, excellent Turkish coffee and teas (although we didn't try the tea, I would assume based on everything else it would be authentic). I've been to Istanbul and they are as close to Turkish as you can get without a 10 hour plane ride. Well worth a stop when you are visiting Burlington! I know I will be back!

This restaurant is an absolute treat. The service is exceptional, and the food is beyond compare. Every dish is seasoned perfectly, and you honestly cannot pick an entree that you will not love. If I have friends or family visiting, this is the first place I will bring them for an amazing evening!

One of the best restaurant experiences I have had. Everything was super efficient. The waiter was polite, got us seated and helped us with our order. Our appetizers came quickly and by the time we finished our lavash bread our entrees came out. The service was excellent, the waiter was attentive. I always love rating restaurants based on how well they refill my water glass, and my glass was never more than 2/3 empty. I seriously cannot emphasize enough how efficient and attentive this waiter was, Ive been to a lot of restaurants and honestly havent seen one like this. Oh yeah, the food is absolutely delicious too. I go to a lot of kebab places and the chicken here was super tender and well seasoned, much better than most kebab restaurants. The adana kebab was full of flavor, and the swordfish kebab was really amazing. Istanbul Kebab House is absolutely the perfect place to get lunch or dinner if you are in the Burlington area visiting or shopping.

Really enjoyed this place. Not a large dining area when it's to cold to eat outside, but loved the decor of the downstairs indoor area. The food and service was very good. Had the lamb kebab platter. The baklava was also very good.

The quality of the food and service was all very lovely. My lamb came out perfectly medium as requested, the sides complimented the meat very well.. and the maple baklava was the perfect delectable choice dessert to end the experience with.

We walked into Istanbul Kebab without reservations prior to a movie at the Flynn with our family of 3. We started with the large mezzo platter with the lavash. We ended up getting more lavash to eat the hummus, babaganoush, Turkish salsa, haydari, and the stuffed grape leaves are amazing…a comforting combination of rice and herbs (cool and not cold). Had a Turkish red wine based on the recommendations on the menu. We had the mixed kebab platter which was filling with delectable beef, lamb, and chicken kebabs, rice and lettuce. We were eager to have the maple baklava and Turkish rice pudding; so good as it was not overly sweet. The service is excellent and timely. The atmosphere is cozy to enjoy our meal.

Food tasted amazing. We loved the kebabs and babaganoush with labneh bread. Be sure to end your dinner with baklava and the hot apple tea! Staff accommodated us last minute and provided great service. Definitely eat at this fantastic restaurant and enjoy!

If you want to try a very traditional and yummy Turkish cuisine, you should visit this restaurant. Very cozy! The food and service were amazing! Perfect location too.

We stopped by for lunch and it was such a satisfying meal. The service was amazing too. We got the vegetable stuffed eggplant, traditional döner kebab, and kunefe for dessert. The kunefe was so delicious and worth the 15-20 min wait for it to cook. We should’ve ordered it earlier, but we didn’t know and we didn’t mind waiting. Seriously, don’t miss the kunefe!

If you are ever in Burlington - Vermont, you got to visit Istanbul Kebab House. They have a great Beyti kebab dish. The restaurant is really cozy and have a great staff. Good food in a fair price.

A great place to enjoy a meal and dive into Turkish food. Had the baba ganoush and chicken shish kabob for dinner. A wonderful and satisfying meal. The staff was very friendly, quick, and plenty of space to sit. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone wanting food beyond a hamburger or basic bar food.

It's a must-visit restaurant for the kebab lovers if you are on Church Street. Shish kebab was too good. We also tried lentil soup for starters and Kunefe for dessert. Istanbul Kebab didn't disappoint.

Good authentic food, casual dining experience. Convenient location (although Google directions are a little off). Not the best views if eating outside (maybe from the rooftop but definitely not from the ground floor). Easy walk to the marketplace. Inside and outside dining options. Server seemed a bit rushed and forgot our drinks so we only had water with our meal. The owner was very apologetic as we were charged for the drinks but never got them. He also graciously gave us a free dessert. I would visit again and recommend if you're looking to try Turkish food.

Okay first experience. Requested outside (only thing to check when reserving) and thought we'd get rooftop but I think that must be noted in special requests. We were out front which is not spectacular but I appreciate the extra outside seating. Food was tasty. Mezze platter and hot Lavash is just as good as everyone raves. Veg casserole was so good. Not a lot of veg offerings if that's important to you and everything seemed a bit pricey for what you got. We'll be back again to try more. Great location.

The best compliment I can give a restaurant is that it tastes like home cooking and this definitely did. We loved the Stuffed Eggplant with lamb! Fallafel was unique and delicious. Tea was lovely. Only the white blaring lighting was strange- please change those lights to point upwards with a warm light bulb- would create a much more comfortable atmosphere. 100% recommend the food.

Still one of my favorite places in Burlington, after more than a decade. Great food and service always. Not cheap but worth every penny! Lots of options for all food preferences, including vegan and gluten free. If you are into dessert, the kunefe is to die for.

A phenomenal restaurant located right off the main drag downtown. We have been twice in the last month and are taking family again this week. Some of the best food I've ever had, prices are reasonable, portions are great and the staff are all fantastic. Everything I've ordered has been amazing, but the meze platter and mixed grill would be my recommendation so you can sample as many dishes as possible.

An absolute gem in downtown Burlington! Went here for lunch and the service was great, but the food was on another level. The Phyllo Cheese Rolls were crispy and yummy. The Chicken Shish Kebab was so delicious and marinated so well it blew my mind. And of course, their warm baklava was the perfect way to end the meal. You can tell they really take pride in their cooking, so I urge you to go see for yourself!

First time . Wished this restaurant was near me and I wasnt just passing through Burlington. It was one of the best meals I have ever had. Salad, humus, lavash bread, kebabs and baklava...all excellent.

This place had nice seating and very cozy. The problem was with their staff. They are very very awkward. I was holding a bowl in my hand of bread and the waiter just pulled it out of my hand and set it to the table without saying anything. Awkward. Then they would just come and take away dishes and cups without asking “are you finished with that” we had to stop them several times cause we went done yet. One time the lady just started passing out one sided menues without saying “ here are he dessert menues if you guys are interested”. I mean how awkward is that. She just swung her hand between us all placing individual menues to 6 ppl while we were trying to eat. They are mute. They can try to smile and be more engaging or friendly. We ordered over 200 bucks worth of food. So it would have been nice to come out feeling good. The food was okay. I have been to way better Turkish places with way better food and prices.

Can’t recommend this place enough. We have been multiple times, and never disappoints. Great lamb and chicken shish kababs. The most tender meat you will ever have! Also tried the lavash bread and the babaganoush, which were very tasty. Great spot for lunch or dinner.

Good food, quiet atmosphere and incredibly attentive wait staff. My water was never not full. The food was luxorius and is now on my short list of go to places for regular food on Church Street. If my pockets don't have enough for a full meal, I will still be returning always for the Turkish coffee. The cheese rolls are one of my all time favorite appetizers, its puff pastry wrapped around turkish cheese and it is to die for.

Oh yasss. Go here - try the stuffed eggplant and the mezza appetizer plate. Really delicious flavors. Lots of tasty veggies, and the meat had great flavor. Get a reservation a few days ahead if you want to sit inside since their dining area is pretty small. You'll walk out of here feeling full but without any guilt since the food is hearty yet healthy!

Absolutely delicious! The food was spiced cooked to perfection. I was told that the chefs are all Turkish, and use imported ingredients. I must say that they cook masterfully. Friendly staff and cozy decor as well. Would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone who's into Turkish cuisine.

A tad disappointed. Pricy, portions small but adequate. Menu didn't seem very authentic and food lacked flavour. No bread, tea, turkish delight etc on the house like you might come to expect if you frequent Turkish places elsewhere. Ok given the dearth of Mediterranean cuisine in the area. Service was good.

A little pricey but definitely worth it. Lamb meatballs were a little salty, but the sides of rice and vegetables balanced it out. For two people the kebab mix was a great dish to split, especially if it's your first time.

Tl;dr - amazing food I am typically one to avoid Turkish and/or Mediterranean food, but came along with a large 9-person party for late lunch. My expectations were completely flipped and I was blown away by my meal. Everyone at the table loved their meal. We got enough of a variety of lunch plates and apps to know that you really can't choose a bad meal here: babaganoush & hummus with lavash bread, lentil soup, falafel wrap, meatballs (photo), chicken shish, chicken adana, Turkish coffees with Turkish delight, etc. Humble and kind service. Highly, highly recommended!

5 stars all the way!! Authentic food down to the Turkish coffee which was probably one of our favorite parts. The staff was very accommodating and made room for us in spite of us being late for their lunch hours. Everyone in our party agreed this was the best falafel we'd ever had anywhere - so crispy on outside but insanely light, fluffy on the inside. We also had the beef croquettes and hummus which were my favorite parts of meal. Definitely recommend this place for quality and authentic food.

We had never eaten Turkish food before and didn’t know what to expect but we were in the mood for something different and figured we’d try it. We were blown away. Awesome appetizers and the kebabs were incredible. The lamb and the swordfish were our favorites. Cooked perfectly. The desserts were great too. Just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering. The server was very good and ridiculously nice. A super pleasant experience. We will definitely be back.

Really amazing food! The hummus with lavash bread is the best starter. For the entree, choose either the Beyti Kebab (lamb) or the Lamb Guvec (which is served on a hot cast iron with curried peppers and rice)

My wife and I were visiting Burlington for the first time. She was exploring some restaurant options in town for a nice dinner. She found the İstanbul Kebap in google search. As soon as we walked in the door the owner welcomed us with a warm smile. We ordered the mix meze platter which was the combination of all the appetizers that they serve. The meze platter included the eggplant spread, hummus, yogurt spread, stuffed grape leaves, and mixed salsa. They tasted really good. All home made! Then we ordered main entrees. My wife got the chicken Kebap with the house salad and I got the Beyti which was basically lamb KEBAP wrapped in lavash bread and served with yogurt sauce, tomato sauce, onion salad and rice. Over all the food tasted out of this world. We had such an amazing experience with my wife. The staff were very attentive. They never left our glasses empty. Kept refilling our waters and always asked if needed anything. I’m originally from İstanbul, Turkey and to be honest, am very critical of the Turkish food in the US. I have been to many Turkish restaurants in the nation. One thing I could tell about this place is that the food tasted just like home!!! The place was very cozy and had a nice character. Thank you very much İstanbul KEBAP House for making me feel like home with the taste and the quality of the food!!! Great job!!!

Wow I wish this place existed closer to where I live - Utah! I saw this place weeks before my trip here and was excited to dine there. INCREDIBLE. Many options for appetizers (hot and cold), kababs, entrees, drinks, and desserts. Everything was delicious and I felt lucky to had been able to dine in - it is a very small space but extremely well-appointed, and the staff are very, very hospitable and friendly. I highly recommend everyone visit this place!

This was our first time here. Im mad I've missed dining here before. Everything was amazing. I really loved the stuffed grape leaves and the calamarie was some of the best I've had. Wait staff friendly and very prompt. Drinks were good.

I love this place. I've eaten here many times. It is consistently excellent. The staff is welcoming and service is attentive but not intrusive. The menu offers a good selection. The appetizers are fantastic. Love the hummus and freshly made bread. I tend to get the kabobs. Last night I had a lamb kabob, it was perfectly cooked and seasoned. They also have a great wine selection. I always leave here feeling happy and satisfied.

Wow. Very distinct food. I've visited dozens of middle eastern restaurants and this one is by far the best. The dips an sauces have a combination of flavors and smells. They are multidimensional. The Turkish tea was fragrant, warm, and soothing. The meat was tender, well sauced, and paired with peppers that complemented the sauce nicely. I would definitely recommend.

A friend and I wound up here by chance and we're so grateful we did. Absolutely everything was outstanding from the service to the food to the drinks. We both had the mocha kiss cocktail which was very rich coffee lightly sweetened and with fresh cinnamon. The mezze platter was recommended by our server and now I can't wait to go back for it! The stuffed grape leaves as well as the baba ganoush were the best I've ever had. We had the zucchini fritters as well as the phyllo dough turkish cheese rolls and LOVED it all. The fritters were an inch thick so that the inside was delicious zucchini and just the outer layer was lightly crisped from frying. Highly recommend this place. The price was more than fair too!

This place is hands down one of the best places to eat in Burlington. The food is homemade, authentic and fresh. If your order the Meze appetizer platter, make sure to get the large because it's so delicious you will regret ordering a smaller portion! MANY Gluten Free and Vegetarian options. The service is friendly, and the price point is very good. Take out service is speedy and efficient. Really wonderful dishes! Highly recommend! Really good food, nice atmosphere inside and upstairs outdoors on the patio, also friendly service. I have been to this restaraunt a half dozen times and have never been dissappointed. I have not ordered takeout, so I can't speak to how that works, but definitely a good place for dining in. I especially love their babaganoush, hummus, stuffed eggplant, and bread. The sampler plate is a great way to share some standard, well executed Mediterranean appetizers. Oh, and the prices are reasonable too. Enjoy.

Very delicious! I got the lamb kabob, lentil soup, and the hummus. Ended the night with knefe that was so yummm! The only thing I would change next time is get my lamb kabob well done instead of medium, but other than that I really enjoyed my meal and would highly recommend this place!

Had delicious Turkish food here. I wanted to try it since it's not every day I have Middle Eastern food. I loved my kebab, it had a lot of flavor and sides to go with it. They even have rooftop dining here, which supposedly is the only restaurant in town that has it. Get a reservation and even try getting there early because they give preference to the roof for people with reservations and if they have room. You get the best views if you're on the side facing the street. The place has tons of seating so even if you don't get the roof it shouldn't be an issue to get a seat. The staff was very friendly too! It was a little more expensive than I thought but it was worth it.

The upstairs patio is a real gem for outdoor dining. Sadly it's only open for dinner with outdoor sidewalk space available for lunch and dinner. The food is authentic and very good. All their meat dishes (most of which I've now had) are perfectly spiced. Prices are much much, more reasonable for lunch for essentially equivalent servings so definitely worth a visit then.

Great little spot on Church Street, just off the main pedestrian section. We were a group of 6 that went for late lunch. Excellent service, greeted right when we walked in, got a nice briefing of the menu with recommendations. We split the Turkish meze platter, and then got a variety of meals. All the dishes were great, fresh tasting, lots of flavor. Prices were very good, considering the homemade foods and location on Church St. I recommend the Alexander kebab. Overall definitely worth going, we plan to return next time we visit. Very impressed with this great little spot.

The flavours are amazing! We had missed Turkish cuisine a lot and finding such a wonderful little gem in Burlington was surprising. I had an extremely enjoyable experience at Istanbul. Although I didn't eat much, what I did have was perfection. I had the red lentil soup. Ni was hot, had a hint of spice and was very flavourful. A must on a cold rainy day. I followed it up with the BEST falafal I've ever had. Crispy and browned on the outside and incredibly savory and tender on the inside. The accompanying yogurt also very delicious. I enjoyed the falafal with the lavash bread which was made to order that was very apparant from the steam that comes when you break the bread. I highly recommend this restaurant not only for the food, but the atmosphere and very friendly and attentive staff.

Went with my spouse and two of our kiddos, and we were all thrilled with our food. Kebob, wrap, stuffed eggplant, even the calamari were all PERFECTLY cooked. Dolmas were stunning. All of the flavors were fantastic, and portion sizes were excellent - enough and not too much. The family who run it were delightful and welcoming on a cold day. The food arrived at our table much more quickly than we had anticipated. We were very pleased with our experience...and did I mention the food was PERFECTLY cooked?? Recently went to Istanbul Kebab House for a post birthday dinner! We were excited they were open - it’s been difficult to find the food we prefer during this Pandemic. They had a choice of patio or rooftop patio seating as well! The Kebab plates(chicken, lamb) were generous portions, the rice light and beautifully seasoned, and the Turkish coffee was Amazing!!! We started our meal also with the Meze sample platter- of hummus, babaganoush, Stuffed grape leaves, Turkish salsa etc. I highly recommend it! The lavash bread was also wonderful to dunk in the hummus and salsa. Really a 5 star experience. Excellent service as well. The Chef’s son was our waiter, very personable and attentive. Highly recommended.

Rounding up on my 4.6 star rating for this restaurant -- not my favorite restaurant of all time but close enough! If me and my family lived closer I am sure we'd be there all the time! The best dining experience I've had in quite some time -- got the Meze Platter, the Mixed Grill Kebab and the Chicken Güveç -- it was ample for 4, and everything was so flavorful and delicious, plus cooked and presented perfectly. Our waitress seemed to take genuine pleasure in seeing us enjoy our meal. My Turkish coffee (first time I've had some) was a revelation -- so good just as served, the best. I can't eat sweets, but my family exclaimed joyfully over their desserts. To sum up, we all loved our experience!

The food here is absolutely delicious. Every dish has it's own distinct and wonderful flavors. Everything single thing we had was beyond expectation. We shared the sample meze. The hummus, the babaganu, the salsa, the haydari filtered yogurt, the onions, the cabbage, the vegan stuffed grape leaves each were prepared and tasted extraordinary. Then we shared the surf and turf kabob containing sword fish and tenderloin with a few peppers mixed in. Prepared to Perfection. Rice pudding, one of my favorites was simply amazing and less sweet but equally tasteful was the almond pudding. We ate on the roof top and the sunset and evening air added to our enjoyment. Fast, polite, friendly, attentive service, even climbing those sets of stairs over and over. This is a don't miss if you enjoy Turkish ambiance and fare. Enjoy!

Food was very good with attentive service. 1 star off because the main dining area is exposed to the outside temperatures whenever anyone walks in. We went to eat here during a single digit temperature snap and were met with a freezing breeze whenever anyone came in or left because it was very busy. A testament to their food for sure, but a little offputting when you are trying to dine. Would come again when in the area but would ask to be seated as far away from the door as possible.

Food is delicious (except for the swordfish kebab. That dish is expensive and very disappointing). I have been twice at that place and enjoyed some dishes. Bread is delicious. Unfortunately my last visit I ordered the swordfish but it was undercooked, like a jelly consistence. I proceeded to inform the waiter about that but he said there was nothing wrong with the dish. They never care about it. Never mind.. I will never order that dish again.

Delicious Turkish food, wonderful hosts, beautiful spot. We had the mezze platter and mixed grill. I loved being able to try so many of their offerings together. It was too much food for two people, but it was delicious. The meats were all well seasoned and cooked perfectly. The mezze platter is a great sampling of their appetizers. They have outdoor seating on the sidewalk, but even better is the rooftop. It's fully covered and wonderfully decorated. They have large and small takes up there, so it's great for a dinner date or a larger gathering. Don't miss this special place!

I visited this place during unexceptionaly busy time. But even then they were able to seat me and my friends. They are very polite and receptionist takes you to the seat themselves. That in itself requires a five star. We tried the chicken shish kebab, chicken Adnan kebab, lamb kebab and so forth. They were all exceptionally delicious to eat and were presented beautifully. Maybe due to the busy hours, we had to wait really long time for the food to be served. That was not too pleasing when you are hungry. But others have pointed to quick service, so I might be wrong. The prices I feel are a tad bit expensive even for the food they serve. Other than these small gripes, I liked having food from this place. Additionally, I feel like the place is a little bit inconspicuous, and one might miss it if you are not keeping an eye out.

We wandered in late on a Sunday night, with no reservations and about an hour before posted close. We were welcomed in and seated right away by a friendly hostess, and our waiter was attentive although clearly at the end of a long day. We ordered an assortment of appetizers between the five of us - falafel, ezme, babaganoush and dolma. It took longer to come out than you'd get at a chain restaurant, but that's a good thing in this case. The ezme had a great kick to it, and the dolma was very tasty. The babaganoush and falafel were both solid as well. For mains, we had a variety of kebabs, as well as the lamb kofte. The Beyti kebab stood out, with spicy chili sauce and vegetables, but every dish was done extremely well. Everyone was pleased with what we got and, even though we told our friends we'd bring home leftovers, we didn't end up having any leftovers. We capped off the meal with some strong Turkish coffee, with or without Bailey's, both ways were the perfect ending. To be frank, I would consider planning a vacation back to Burlington just to go to this restaurant. It was our best meal on the vacation, and one of the best meals at a restaurant that I've had in a while. If you are visiting Burlington and have taste buds, you should make sure to have a meal here.

Vural and Hassan and their families are amazing restauranteurs – they have created a beautiful space and amazing authentic Turkish food. I have dined at Tucker Box in White River Junction (their other restaurant) – but this new location in Burlington right on Church Street is just magical. My children have been raised to try new food, but have never had the pleasure of trying Turkish delicacies. But they know good food and after this experience at the Istanbul Kabob House – they raved for weeks! They (and their parents) can’t wait to come back. The lamb, the eggplant, and of course the almond pudding and baklava to finish were all fantastic. If you have never tried Turkish food – you are probably wrong. You have had a dish that is influenced by this country’s cuisine. It is familiar, approachable, and absolutely delicious. Besides, this family of owners will make you feel like you are part of their family – my family certainly felt that way. Thank you so much for great food and a great dining experience!

Tired of the restaurant week restaurants promising the moon and ending up disappointing, we tried Istanbul kebabs for a take away dinner. While not the finest kebabs I've ever head, the meat was flavorful and distinctly kebab. Served with a tasty assortment of onions, salad, and red cabbage, everything came together well and was definitely more satisfying than the rest of the weekend had been. Falafel were decent, again nothing distinguishing, simply good solid fare. Their variant of tzatziki, while thin, made a nice finish over the dish. Overall, would definitely consider as something to take home for a weekday meal.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. We first started going when they were still in Essex, and have followed them downtown quite frequently. Everything I've eaten here has been fantastic. At lunch, the Iskander is a must try. For the dinner hours, I usually start with hummus and lavash. For a main course the Beyti Kebab and Mixed Grill are my go-tos. Finally a glass of apple tea and rice pudding or baklava just set the night right. I couldn't recommend this place more as it truly earns it's 5 stars!!

Excellent, authentic Turkish food. The food is cooked extremely well and there is a large menu with vegetarian accomodations. The Turkish coffee is delicious as well. The only drawback is that some of the waiters are difficult to understand due to their accents.

I love this place for the food. They have amazingly authentic Turkish food. Decor is pretty awful and its very loud. If you sit near the front by the large windows, you can hear every other tables conversations. Definitely worth a try.

The food is as good all reviews indicate. One important tip- During weekends and busy times get a reservation and request 2nd. floor. The first floor dining area is small , there is constant traffic of patrons coming and going for the 2nd floor. The people waiting to be served are overlooking your dining experience.
