Reviews of Bleu Northeast Kitchen
This is one of the very best restaurants in Burlington. Beautiful menu, fresh ingredients (exceptional), lake view (indoors), fine and friendly service. Breakfast and dinner menus are outstanding. Artisanal beverages - highest quality all the way around.
What a pleasant surprise! We had a fabulous meal at Bleu when we couldn’t get into a different restaurant up the street. Wow! We started with the seafood chowder which was decadently delicious & beautiful. I next had the Little Gem lettuce salad which was “crafted” unlike most salads that are jumbled together. It was eye pleasing and totally tastebud engaging. Hubby wanted a steak but finding the menu lacking chose the Misty Knoll chicken roulade. It was the bomb! The service was engaging and responsive. I wish we were NOT visitors. This would be a definite revisit!
Great spot in Burlington with some amazing dishes. I got the beef short rib, my wife had the gnocchi and we shared a bottle of wine. When we were visited, there was also a 3 piece band playing relaxing music which further set the mood. Would definitely recommend.
Absolutely loved this place! We were in town for a single day as Burlington was the first stop with an 8 day road rally with our Mini Cooper. We hadn't really researched where to eat and just happened upon this place.
The view was stunning looking at Lake Champlain as the sunset - wow!
Ismar, our waiter, was excellent! We were torn between the Lobster roll and the Monkfish and went with the monkfish based on his recommendation as in his words 'lobster rolls are available in lots of places, the monkfish is not'
SPOT ON MY FRIEND!!!
Now here is the thing. I ordered mine requesting no bell peppers (allergy) When he brought it out it had peppers in it. This happens to me more often then you can imagine. Generally they take mine back to the kitchen and I sit and wait while I encourage my husband to eat his so it doesn't get cold. This was the absolutely FIRST time that a server took back both of our plates to be remade so we would be able to eat together!! We got to enjoy our meal together, which for foodies like us is great as we like to talk about what we are eating. Dining out is a social experience after all.
There was a 2 piece musical group in the adjacent lounge which made the experience even better if that is at all possible.
Go here!!
Food was brought up warm and in a timely manner. Priced ok for an upscale dining. Get the Lamb Burger! Tasty and a definite recommend!
Richard made our evening special. We had an amazing evening celebrating my girls 50th b day. The drinks, the food and the staff all were amazing. Out server Lindsey was awesome. The food was so good. Thank you for making it a special night.
Burrata had great flavor but not enough burrata and bread was oily. Chicken sandwich was great but the burger was a hockey puck. Ordered burger medium, got well. Both the chicken sandwich and hamburger had too small of buns with too much meat, bad portioning.
I had the mad rum cocktail, which was great. I also had the oysters and those were great. I wanted to like this place more but it’s a hotel restaurant and this one fit the mold. It was good but not great enough to be worth it.
Also... over $30 entrees? Glad I didn’t try them. Standard fish, chicken, steak, pasta menu design with nothing exciting.
Everything was plated nicely, and several dishes were memorably good. The seared scallop and pork belly appetizer made us happy, and the beet risotto that came under my redfish was good to the last bite. Definitely over-the-top flavors, and a level of richness that's not strictly needed or wanted - at least in some of the dishes we had, like the blackened salmon. Decent wine selection, and the kind of service you'd hope for.
Went here for restaurant week. The food and ambiance was excellent. The lobster roll tasted so fresh. My girlfriend had the tagliatelle with wild mushrooms and it was delicious.
The people working were very friendly. However, it appeared that their was only one server for the entire restaurant. We had appetizers and 1 drink. Food was a mix bag. Oysters were $21 and you got 6 of the smallest Oysters I have ever seen. Marinated olives were great considering we got what looked like 2 jars worth. The third dish was excellent. I was just disappointed because we wanted to order entrees but were worried we would miss our remaining evening plans. Great beer and drink selection.
We came here for breakfast twice and dinner once (we were staying at the Courtyard). Nothing we ate was less than superb. The corned beef hash was elegant, and loaded with flavor; and even the yogurt parfait managed to take something otherwise simple and twist it into an interestingly delicious breakfast. For dinner, my husband and I had the NY Strip and the scallops. Both were fantastic, but I will say the scallops were hands down the best I’ve ever had. The menu here IS limited, but don’t let that deter you. My experience is that literally anything you order will surprise you with how good it is, even if you’re already expecting a great meal after reading this review.
Last, but absolutely not least, both the breakfast and dinner servers have been pleasant and a wonderful compliment to the dining experience.
Came here for brunch. Pictured is the lobster frittata. Excellent service. Def. paying a bit extra for the seafood ingredients.
Excellent dinner. I was on town with colleagues..we had a great meal and time to connect as it has been a while. Overall staff was very busy and attentive. I enjoyed a good beer and steak.
Great American kitchen with an emphasis on seafood. Plenty of options including steaks and burgers. All very good to excellent. Highly recommend the charcuterie board.
The veal chop was out of this world! Highly recommend.
We got the perch poppers for $16 and it was the size of 2 chicken nuggets. The lobster rolls were $30 each and while very tasty, just don't know if it justifies the price. The maple creme Brule was very tasty and more reasonably priced
Food was excellent. The lobster roll sets the gold standard and was elevated to perfection. The bleu martini was delicious and NE beer pairings with Neil, the owner, made us feel so welcomed and excited that we were able to try some of the most ah-mazing beers Vermont has to offer! And how could I not mention the lighting and ambience? Impeccable. My girlfriend and I loved the map of the city on the back bar, too.
A decent hotel restaurant with some great menu options. The decor is fresh and classy, the lighting and seating good. The staff was friendly and professional. The crab cake is among the best I have ever had, the chowder good, and the entrees were creative, tasty, and cooked to perfection. While there are plenty of options within walking distance, this place is a good option if you don’t want to leave the hotel due to weather or fatigue.
I recently went to Bleu with some coworkers to celebrate the closing of our greenhouse being sold.
We went anticipating an enjoyable, fun and delicious time but unfortunately were disappointed.
The whole dinner the waitstaff was very much in our space as well as having a rude undertone. My table asked for a Riesling and the waitress told us they didn’t have one. But upon further reading of the wine list, there was in fact one. It felt a little like she just wanted up to spend more. The server following her kept referring to me and another guest at our table “young lady,” and though we appreciate that he thinks we were young, we are in our late 20s-early 30s and it felt a little condescending.
We got the scallops and oysters to start. The scallops were over cook and the dish lacked flavor in general. They’re served on corn and tomato and it just tasted very bland. The dish was rather dry. The oysters were alright, but had a lot of little flakes of shell and sand.
By the time we finished our starters we wanted to leave but had already ordered our dinner so we stayed.
For the main courses 2 of the guests at our table ordered the strip steak for $38. It was served with dressed greens which were a little weak. Just tasted like some Italian dressing on some lettuce. The meat was tough too.
The salmon was good, it was served with swish shard and polenta. Though I’m pretty sure they forgot the horseradish. So overall it was a little too filling and plain.
We left all feeling like the restaurant was alright, but not for its prices and experience with the staff. I was looking for that, “wow this is excellent!” But only felt that the food and flavors were mediocre.
I take my customers for business meals there often. The ambiance is quiet and relaxing. The menu is limited but decent. The drinks menu is good in terms of spirits, wine and local spirits. The service is sometimes ok and sometimes good. Last server (Kelsey) did a wonderful and impressive job hosting. Best than anyone else out of the many times I have been there. With the exception for the last time I was there for business dinner, I do mind that a 20% gratuity is automatically added to the bill for large parties (>6) when I feel the service was not worth 20%. Aside from this, the place has a modern appeal and comfort without much excessive complexity that keeps me coming back for business dinners and personal ones as well.
Excellent food and friendly staff! Neal, the manager, was a pleasure to get to know and offered wonderful service. Frank was a wonderful and hospitable bartender. We had the garden salad with chicken, chicken roulade, cauliflower soup, and chocolate pot de creme. Everything was outstanding, we particularly enjoyed the cauliflower soup. Would recommend for great food and friendly service.
Great spot with good food and good service. A good spot to grab a wide variety of food while visiting Burlington.
Mike was an excellent seasoned waiter. Scallops appetizer and chowder were both delicious. Many times squid ink pasta is hit or miss but this was melt in your mouth fabulous, served as frutti de mar with saffron butter. Wine list was fair and not over priced. Overall a great experience which made the last day of our trip even better!
Part of Marriott. Ordered chicken and can't ask for anything better...
Food and service were good but...
It was really noisy with kids running around and screaming.
The resturant is by hotel check-in and also a bar (where for some reason there were many kids).
Would be a great experience if it wasn't for the noise level.
Fried Oyster dish for breakfast was phenomenal 😊 …
Excellent food and Sam was an extraordinary server. Atmosphere was calm and it was close to the waterfront for a walk after dinner. I would recommend this stop.
Monkfish was really good and we had a great table in the corner by the windows. Server was descent, not great. Seemed a bit busy and missed a few things. Sirloin was average however which was the most disappointing aspect. Ambiance lacks a bit of personality but overall pretty good.
Had Breakfast here 3x. Elegant, great food ), bacon cooked to perfection every time.
Excellent breakfast menu! They're open early and have excellent variety with equally good service. It was a great breakfast, and it certainly doesn't need the qualifier "for a hotel restaurant". I'll definitely be going back. Looking forward to trying lunch and dinner.
I had the hamburger and fries The food was OK but the service was amazing the girl was very nice But the food Was very pricey
Great service from the bar, had the scallops and then seafood chowder. Meal was was very filling with abundant flavors. Drinks were perfect!
Went with husband on a date night. Service was good, food was good, a little overpriced for what it was and portion size but to expect I guess when in lobby of a hotel!
Staff was excellent, food very tasty
Torn between wether the food or service was better. We were well taken care of, Trish was amazing. Requests were accommodated, couldn’t have asked for more.
Had a very good experience here. Good seafood and they had heady topper readily available. Seafood was fresh and very tasty.
Good food & friendly staff!
Gotta stop by and see Frank the bartender. Oysters were top notch and the lobster was great. Can't go wrong here.
Great service and meal
Very good. Best Clam chowder. Service is excellent. Had a very good evening in a nice and cozy environment.
Great, fresh seafood, beautifully prepared and presented in a small restaurant setting. Great views from some tables.
Fresh seafood driven up daily by wood mountain fish in boston, and a great scotch for dessert it was wonderful.
Salad was soggy tasted like they made it this morning. I agree with the other reviews, pricy for what you get.
Very pricey for what you get. The food's great, but you'd pay $20 less for the same stuff almost anywhere else.
Food and ambiance were good but the menu was rather limited.
Great Birthday dinner, and Trish was an outstanding waitress!!! Thank you.
Good food and good service. Was delicious.
Nice atmosphere and service.
I could show them how make a real lobster roll. 😋 …
My favorite spot for brunch in Burlington. Excellent Bennedict in a comfortable, friendly environment
Overpriced and mediocre food
Great Food and service but $$$$ are very high for dated resturant...
The Best Hotel around where you enjoy seafood dinner ! BLEU NORTHEAST SEAFOOD !
Quiet! The ambience is delightful. The waitistaff is great too
Solid menu, great service. You pay for what you get. Do it!
Expected a lot based on reviews and recommendations, but we weren't blown away by anything we had.
Excellent food! Highly recommend it!
Pretty good food! Service was excellent.
Great live music on the weekends
Great meals. I loved the food.
Not bad for inland seafOod.. though🤔ive never had better🙂 …
So Delicious. Great atmosphere.
Fine dining in Burlington, VT
Best seafood in town
Nice in hotel option
Friendly service.
Great food
Bleu doesn’t get the fanfare of some of Burlingtons other fine dining restaurants, which is a shame. The Misty Knoll chicken is the best chicken dish in town, the Parker house rolls are terrific and the cocktails are always on point. We have never had a bad meal here. Highly recommend
It’s shockingly difficult to find a good chicken dish in town and this restaurant delivers! The plated accompaniments are good but the a la carte carrots with the maple miso glaze are truly outstanding. The salad with lemon vinaigrette is also a winner. Definitely a local favorite of ours! While the service may not be as polished as the food, that could be largely corrected if the servers were required to write down orders. We’ve had drinks prepared incorrectly and side dishes forgotten due to careless oversight. Errors are always handled appropriately, it’s just rather an avoidable nuisance. We rotate through the local ‘finer’ restaurants in town every weekend. We enjoy Bleu for its warm atmosphere and consistent high quality menu.
Food was OK but not worth the price. Very expensive! Ate at The Juniper next door and it was less expensive and the food and service was top notch!
(Translation) Very nice, woooww food, to do as a couple!!!😋😍😜
