1st time here. Really nice that they take limited reservations so they can offer personalized service even during pandemic times. Attentive service. Chef came around to check and chat with everyone. Ambiance and food (escargot, mousse, moules-frites) were fine. The mushroom tart was amazing and one of the best martinis I've had in Burlington. We did have heightened expectations, with all the hype and good reviews, possibly making me more critical than with other restaurants but overall it was a very lovely night and we're looking forward to dining here more in the future.

WOW. Wow! Through a crazy turn of events, my husband and I unexpectedly ended up here in Burlington for a several days. On our last night before heading to Boston, we decided to go out to dinner and found this hidden gem. We have dinned in some of the best restaurants in the world, and the memories of many of those meals blur into each other. This meal will be one that we will remember for years to come. How fortunate Vermonters are to have this amazing chef and restaurant. We had the tasting menu with a wine pairing. The beef cheek (AND its sauce) was fabulous. My main course (a mushroom taste) was outstanding. And the Paris-Brest pastry was to die for. Outstanding service. Excellent special occasion / romantic dinner location. Pricy but worth every single penny.

Absolutely fantastic meal in every sense of it! Beautiful decor, wonderful staff, elegant (and of course) exquisite food. Everything we ordered was some of the best food we've had, and we've had some really great meals! This to me is a world-class restaurant that will continue to attract visitors from around the world.
Pro-tip: The smoked trout is unbelievably good!

Wonderful dining experience at Bistro de Margot. French cuisine, cooked to perfection.

Came here for a wedding dinner. We had the pre-fix menu with wine and cocktails. The food was absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. The chef came out and spoke to us personally and made the bride and groom feel really special. Beautiful restaurant downtown!

We reserved a table for our 12 year anniversary and really enjoyed our meal. We did the fixed menu and everything we had was fantastic, especially dessert. The atmosphere was very appropriate for an anniversary dinner and the service was good.

Nice French bistro with excellent selections. Their escargot is what we came for and we ended up also getting the salmon and the scallops. All of these items were delicious, perfectly cooked, and very well presented; they have wine by the glass or by the bottle. It’s tailorable for any budget, but a little bit on the higher side. Wait staff was immaculate, very nice, and would recommend!

Absolutely fantastic! Held a dinner here for 30. Herve and his staff couldn't have been more accommodating. Food delicious, atmosphere inviting, staff so courteous and professional!

Bistro de Margot offers a refined dining experience and excellent French wine list in downtown Burlington. The amuse bouche was a delightful pea soup that was perfectly balanced. The fish appetizer was forgettable and apparently already off the menu. As far as the mains, we were impressed with the soupe de poisson, grilled lamb chops, and magret de canard. Unfortunately, we found the Halibut to be dry. The peach tart and accompaniments were delicious while the creme brulee was rather ordinary. Notably, the chef came to personally greet all of the tables except ours, which hopefully was an honest mistake.

Adding this place to my relatively short list of “special occasion” restaurants in the Champlain Valley. Great service, inspired and unique dishes, satisfying portions. Not cheap, but worth every penny!
