Reviews of Yankee Lobster

I had:
fried calamari - nicely fried and very tender. Not the rubbery and tasteless kind you find at many places
fried clam strips - nicely fried, crispy, and delicious.
fried clams - nicely fried and very creamy on the inside. I would skip them though next time since they were MP ($33).
I'd rather have an order of the fried oysters and fried clam strips for the same price.
fried oysters - nicely fried, creamy and briny.
Everything was extremely fresh, portions are large and as close to perfection as I should expect from takeout.
Order online or by phone to skip the long line. I wish it was more clear that you can skip the line if you've already ordered
There are some shaded stone benches across the street. I chose the benches over their outside seating area. Their outside seating area is in the sun and very crowded.

It was the first time we visited there. We ordered shrimp and fish. I also ordered chowder soup. Our orders got prepared so soon. It was very well cooked. The fish was very crispy and it was perfect with the sauce and the little salty French fries.
The best thing about it was you really could feel the fresh sea food. I love to go back there again.

Great tasting lobster rolls! The chowder and bisque were also very good! Well priced for lobster market price. The food was served fast, and there wasn't much of a wait ordering or waiting for our food. Would highly recommend ordering the butter lobster roll.

This is a little gem spot we discovered by accident. Staff here is super friendly. Food was very yummy. We ordered take out and food still taste good. We ate the raw oyster there because they said for safety issues they don't want anyone getting sick so can't be to go. It makes sense, makes us feel like they care. Lobster bisque and clam chowder was super creamy with large chunks of lobster n clams. Fried oyster was soo good and their traditional Lobster rolls was one of the best lobster rolls we had in Boston. The shrimp taco was good too but definitely the lobster roll. I regret not going back before I left Boston but will definitely go back if we go to Boston.

I took a lobster roll tour through the coastal New England states all the way up to Maine. Every place I hit were surprisingly awesome. This, however, is the only place I’m giving solid 5 stars for their exceptional lobster rolls. Excellent clam chowder and crab cakes, free parking certainly helped. But it’s the lobster rolls that will bring me back here again at some point🐷

I got the traditional lobster roll and it was more than I've hoped. My lobster roll was loaded with huge chunks of lobster mixed in a creamy mayonnaise with herbs. I'm very impressed by the sheer amount of lobster I was given -- very well worth the price!
The fries were really good too.

Come here for a great lobster roll. Lobster was fresh and sweet. We were greeted immediately and the line moved quickly. It was a chilly day and they had heaters on in the patio area. Customer service was on point. Would recommend this establishment.

Interesting restaurant with both outdoor and indoor sitting. Fast paced environment. I had a traditional lobster roll and fried Calamari. The food tasted fresh. The staff was good. The lobster roll is $40 and its comparable among other restaurants in the area. The roll is filling.
Nick Gracilla
What makes for a perfect lobster roll? Tons of lobster, fresh. A cool layer of lettuce at the bottom, some celery for crunch. A perfect bun, slightly sweet, warm. Nothing hides: it’s all in balance. They’ve got it in spades here, in a casual, order and seat yourself venue with indoor and outdoor seating.

I don't even like lobster, but this place was amazing! The lobster roll was STUFFED with juicy morsels. Even the bisque had large lumps of claw meat! This topped-off our Boston experience. I would definitely come back for the lobster bisque.
JiShun Zhou
Great fresh food. Just too expensive… almost $40 for a lobster roll and some fries. Probably just worth the experience and that’s it.
Overall the price is high and the seafood quality is not the freshest at least when I tried - also for other dishes my friends had. Best quality price ratio was the hotdogs - two hot dogs and a bunch of fries.
Honestly don’t know if I would recommend it. Coming from NY, I expected a max of $30.

Amazing lobster and shrimp! Had a small line but it moved quickly. Food arrived very quickly and dining room features an adjoining second room as well as outdoor tables to fit everyone comfortably. Decent prices on seafood and great quality. Easy to find and lots of parking if there isn't a concert next door. Service was very friendly and bathrooms were clean.

Ordered the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll and Clam Chowder. It’s pretty good with the fresh and plump lobster but there’s just too much lobster and there’s no other option for lesser lobster. Furthermore, there’s no price tag and just indicates market price for the lobster roll. Wish there was size option for the lobster roll like what I’ve seen in other review. This lobster roll was a whopping 35 dollars and clam chowder (medium) was 10 dollars before tipping. There are better options out there that are more value for money.
Johnny
Awesome!! We ordered both cold and hot version of lobster rolls and both were delicious!!! If you are in the seaport District, you must stop here for lunch or dinner. You will not be disappointed 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽 …

Authentic New England seafood in a touristy area….so a good place to get a fix for a lobster roll or fried clams. Service was pretty quick. Order your food, sit and they’ll bring the food to your table. Parking available right side of restaurant.
Nicolas Foss
My first lobster roll. See the photo for my before. Here is my after 😁
I will be back for the fish and chips. They served the roll with ketchup and didn't forget the napkins for the to go order 👍🏻
Market value was 34.99 for the roll no drink etc.
I didn't stay to eat because it's hot in there and a little cramped.
Staff was nice and helpful to customers with their orders. Great job guys.
Bryce Jamison
Absolutely amazing! This was the best lobster roll I've ever had! The portion was huge, and so were the pieces. They have a great atmosphere right next to the dock, and the staff was friendly and helpful. The next time I'm in town I'll be back for sure!
Mikebkaease
You could never go wrong with some chicken fingers, if you don't like seafood as much. Next visit I'll try some lobster and be a little bit optimistic while at the Yankee Lobster.
We ordered the food for pickup and waited about ten minutes, which wasn't bad at all. There's great spots to eat near by If the dining area is pack. I enjoyed my experience there, will return soon.
Bianca Rivera
The food was good. it's not bad, I'd say skip the butter. Unfortunately, it was nothing to rave about and a bit costly. The service was excellent, and our food came out hot and fresh and they have a great variety of options for your side dish. I'd go back if I were in the area.
Allyssa
We got the hot buttered lobster roll and the traditional lobster roll. The hot buttered lobster roll was our favorite! The price is a bit higher than expected for two sandwiches and 2 drinks we spent about $85.00. We do not regret our decision to come here. If it wasn’t so pricy I’d definitely go again!
Joe Guevara
Amazing stop just a short walk from the Renaissance. Tried the lobster with butter and tasted amazing - they’re all market price so choose the one the one that appeals to you. (I paid roughly $35 for mine)
An Trvlr
The classic lobster roll was good, although a little bland. I’d probably go with a different one next time. The fries tasted overdone and were hard (not crunchy… hard). The soup was good. The lobster roll was the most basic and most expensive out of all the restaurants we ate at in Boston. I’d give them a second chance, but I’m not anxious to go back.
KaeAnne Parris
I got the clam chowder and lobster dinner (1.25lb). The food is good… very very expensive for what you actually get. It feels like it should be a ‘local spot,’ but is pretty corporate. IF I were to return, I’d get the lobster roll.
Nemil Perez
I was very disappointed by the hot buttered lobster roll. Maybe I should've gotten their traditional with mayo, but I prefer the buttered version usually.
The lobster wasn't warm, but also was slightly rubbery. There was a good amount of meat on it though. It was seasoned and the flavor was ok. The saving grace was the piece of lemon.
The fries were decent and crispy.
It was $37 for the lobster roll.
It was such a beautiful and sunny day, and I left the restaurant feeling so sad and glum afterward.
M Whalen
Absolutely delicious and everything we wanted. We got fried clams which were salty, creamy and crunchy all the things you want in a good fried clam! Two lobster rolls one mayo based and one with hot butter…. I could have gone right to sleep happily with a smile on my face and a full belly !
Wyatt Carr
Lobster roll was other-worldly. Traditional one day and the warm buttered the next. Eating both was honestly a life experience as a west-coaster. 10/10 will return next time I’m in Boston.
Becky George
What I wanted when visiting Boston is a good ol' lobster roll and I got the best of the best! The lobster roll itself was phenomenal, couldn't have enough. This lobster mac n' cheese was absolutely to die for! This restaurant is also by the dock which created the perfect location.
Josh Baltazar
Ordered a Fried Lobster Roll, Medium Clam Chowder, Lobster Mac and Cheese, Medium Seafood Stew and Hot Buttered Lobster Roll. I like the Fried Lobster Roll the best the Mac and Cheese was a bit overrated. The Clam Chowder was much better than the Seafood Stew. Line was long but went by quickly, tables opened up quick as well.
Margaret Hui
It is my first dine at here, I didn't know the set up. There was a line to order & pay but the line moved decently fast but I am not sure I will eat here in colder weather. Once your order is ready the staffs will to your table. The food was very fresh & well cooked. It was quite busy at here during lunch. Overall it was very positive experience.
Mohamed Fadili
I had many lobster rolls from different places and this by far is the best. The lobster tasted fresh, not loaded with mayo and definitely had a pleasant ocean flavor. Also, the buns was well toasted which made each bite more enjoyable.
Yuliia Karaziia
We wanted traditional lobster roll and ordered delivery. So much lobster meat!!!
However, I wish they had put some garlic butter on top of it. I should have ordered it added. But if you want to enjoy lobster taste, it’s perfect.
Patricia Ryland
This place it and absolutely must go to if you visit Boston. They have the best by far lobster rolls crab dip seafood hands-down in the city of Boston. Although bit pricey it is absolutely exquisite all the locals come here and it is the one place that you are able to purchase food if you would like to take it back home with you on the plane they do not offer shipping unfortunately because they are a local restaurant to Boston it is hands-down rated five stars absolutely must go to must eat at and with every penny.
Toni Fejer
We went to Boston for our first time and we got to our hotel, which is across the street, late because of delays getting our rental car. It was late and we didn’t know where to go and as I was looking out our hotel window, I saw the Yankee Lobster, so we thought we’d give it a whirl. Well, we are so glad we did! The food and drinks were Excellent! We had our very first lobster rolls here and then that kept us on a roll
to get more lobster rolls in Boston, well Yankee
lobster had the best lobster rolls out of any of the restaurants that served them! These lobster rolls were really loaded up with lobster! The
French fries were perfect too! We highly recommend this restaurant!!!
Santosh Dash
The lobster roll and clam chowder was good , lobster bisque , was average. Tables are not cleaned by staff after other customers leave, clean it yourself before you put hands .. else will have left over sauce etc on hands on shirt.
stan yu
Came here for a lobster roll and it was not bad. For the price, you get a decent amount of lobster chunks in the roll. I decided to go with the hot buttered lobster roll and it was cooked nicely however it was missing the vestyness that I’m used to from other lobster rolls I’ve had.
Jack
I've been to Yankee Lobster many times. Their claim chowder is the best in Boston.
Legal Seafood makes their chowder at central location, then ships it cold to each restaurant.
Yankee makes it on location and all day long.
Parking is doable and the seaport is a great place to be.
Ian Charold Herriott
Probably a couple/few places like this still in Boston, maybe? If you want to get an authentic feeling experience in Seaport, can’t go wrong. Love everything about this place, and hope to return many times in years to come. The lobster melt sandwich is comfort food for my soul.
Hannah Martinez
With this being my first trip to Boston I was on the lookout for a great local place to have dinner when I arrived. After a bit of researching I found Yankee Lobster. It was within walking distance from my hotel and and from the reviews looked to be a great place for a meal. I was definitely not dissapointed. The lobster roll was delicious as was the lobster mac and cheese. The staff were also very friendly and patient with someone from out of town. The atmosphere was cozy and there was outdoor seating as well if you were wanting to enjoy the crisp autumn air with your food. Prices were a little high but understandably so as lobster prices can fluctuate. All in all I enjoyed this place and wouldn't mind stopping by again whenever I make my way back to this historic city.
Danny DeBruine
Fresh lobster so you can’t complain right? My only gripe was that it wasn’t as sweet as the only other lobster I’ve had on the East coast. Still delectable though. Shared the Mac and cheese and a hot, buttered lobster roll.
Thomas Nguyen
While in Boston my friends and I went around trying all the Lobster rolls we can get our hands on. One of our friends who went to Boston Recently mentioned Yankee Lobster has the best Lobster, and after trying them I can say this place definitely had my favorite lobster roll.
The place was a bit far from where I was located, but it was definitely worth the travel. I got the traditional lobster roll. The Lobster Roll came with a lot of lobster and the bread actually tasted good. Since normally most places would have just good lobster, but stuff it in a hot dog roll. With a bit of lemon everything about the lobster roll was phenomenal. The fries were also not that bad, but they were just plan fries, nothing to write home about.
Overall, if you go to Boston this place is a must try. The only downside is all other lobster rolls you try at other places will just remind you of the one you had here.
Thelionheartedone
Sunday Understaffed waiters. No one knew where to be for lines. Same questions were asked by the waitress if we were picking up or taking out over and over again. Cashier was super fast and chill and got the food quickly. The waitress just seemed overwhelmed and confused. She needed more help.
The clam chowder was good. Sail loft was more flavorful with the dill but yankee lobster has the fresher and bigger chunks of clams IMHO.
Ryan Gordon
Came here from Toronto, and my first lobster roll experience was pretty good. Fried shrimp was real good too. Almost wanted to order more. Antonio took real good care of us as well. Line to get in was long but it moved pretty quickly.
Fred Williams III
Great food, cozy atmosphere, very charming service. My first hit, buttered, lobster roll, but definitely NOT my last! And those crab cakes were huge! I am in love!
Clarissa Padilla
Wonderful, nautical themed, casual spot, with food so delicious that thinking of it makes me hungry. I was going to have the Lobsta roll but then I found the Lobster melt. Lobster, cheese, chipotle mayo, on toasted sourdough. Duuuuuuuude! Their fríes were good too. Definitely a spot you want to check out. It'll make for some fun pictures too.
Douglas Seah
Tried the hot buttered lobster roll and clam chowda. The fries were good, the lobster portions were chunky. The clam chowda was ok but was expecting more clams in it. There is a good variety of beers and drinks.
Perfect summer food under the sunshine. However, it is a tad expensive. Self-order at the cashier.
Iyshia Kirkland
I loved the atmosphere, and the service was excellent! I am also a SUPER Foodie, who loves her seafood- while the clam chowder was the absolute best I've EVER had, the burned- flavor lacking crab cakes almost killed my entire experience 😒 I would eat here again, but skip the crab cakes next time around👍🏾
Bianca L.
The woman who took our order looked confused most of the time and like she didn't want to be there. She also gave us the wrong drink. The inside looked clean and so did the outside seating area on the right side of the building once exiting after placing your order inside. It was busy, and nobody kept their distance. I was with a party of four and we ordered various items but I'll only mention mine which was a buttered lobster roll. It was delicious and the fries were crispy which I love. The staff who assisted us outside was friendly and helpful. I'll order to go next time.
Lisa G
Genuine place with the best lobster roll I have had so far in the Boston area. And it was a lot of lobster in it! The restaurant it self was not traditionally cosy, but it was quite enjoyable sitting there either way. It felt close to the ocean.
Nathan Schmidt
This place is a great, relaxed way to get some of what Boston is famous for. Lobster, clams, crab... it's all good here. Great people, good service... You won't go wrong making this a stop during your time at the seaport on the harbor!
BAM Maxwell
The atmosphere is great and staff is friendly. The prices are good for the portions. We didn’t try the lobster (bad idea) but the food we tried was good. Fish tacos, fishing chips, calamari (a little over cooked) oysters raw (figured out he only likes them steamed😂) but would come back to try other stuff. …
Iris Wu
We ordered a traditonal lober roll, a lobster bisque, and fried calamari. All were delicious, especially the lobster roll, a lot of lobster. Price was resonable.
Nicole F
Fantastic! I missed this place. So good to be back after 2 years. The staff was amazing, friendly and kept area clean! The best lobster roll ever! 😋
chris Winston
The service was impeccable it started to rain and I was outside the people traveled from outside to inside to deliver South food with a smile on your face absolute perfect couldn't have been better it's a very small place but the service was astronomical and I couldn't say anything more about it God-bless them and thank you very much
Theodore Melton
Nice setting with a good coastal feel. Can buy seafood to cook at home as well as dining in. Lobster roll has a lot of meat!
Tamekia Mitchell-Cotright
Had the buttered Lobster Roll and OMG it was the best! I will definitely be a repeat customer. The food was amazing....We had crab cakes and they were eaten so fast we didn't have even get a picture.
Alyssa Sierra
I’m new to boston and never have had a lobster roll. I saw a picture of this place (probably on instagram or for some ad) and it looks SOOOO GOOD. I knew i had to try it. I went on a Thursday evening by myself, there was a concert going on next door so the place was packed. The staff did their best for crowd mitigation, and I ordered a lobster melt. I’m literally day dreaming about the sandwich. The fries were also really good! The ONLY reason I knocked a star off was due to price. It was delicious but jesus I cannot afford to spend $40 on a sandwich and fries often. Will definitely be going back at some point once I save a bit.
Tina Jennette
We shared the Fisherman’s Platter. Everything was fried to perfection and a generous portion. The Raspberry Lime soda a to sweet for my liking.
Hsin Yi Wei
Yankee Lobster is definitely one of the most famous & popular places for lobster in Boston. The decor and ambiance ate authentic & old-fashioned in American style.
We had their 1.25 lb. Lobster Plate and Skipper's Platter to share with a group of two. The food was decent and really fresh, especially the lobster, which is tender and super juicy. Their side which comes with every entree are substitutable and our favorites were the coleslaw & fried onion rings.
Nate Call
I don't think I like lobster rolls but my only other experience was Cousins of Maine food truck in NC, and I'm certain that's an unfair representation. I would try it again, perhaps try a soup or something else.
David San Antonio (Davsan56)
Yankee lobster was delicious! The portions were good size. Can’t go wrong with the traditional lobster roll. There is a good outdoor seating area that is heated in the winter. Will definitely come back for the lobster roll!
Roosha Nawaz
Had crab+lobster roll, clam chowder, and lobster melt sandwich. Excellent but very expensive. Limited casual seating. Best I've ever had.
Boris Dus
Amazing seafood restaurant. The best crab roll and clam chowder I've tried. A lot of crab meat!
Jess Y
3.5 stars
Clam chowder was worth trying.
Fried lobster roll we both didn’t like much. The lobster became a little dry.
Hot buttered lobster roll was better, but not the best we’ve had.
Clam strips were ok.
Portions are quite big.
M M
We got a few things to share between 4 of us...
Lobster bisque - delicious with chunks of lobster, not like the discarded bits like that you sometimes get at other places
Calamari - it was good, with marinara sauce. Crunchy, crispy breading, fresh squid which is a winning combo.
Fish tacos - meh, it was a bit sloppily assembled, the fish was lightly breaded and deep fried. Had some sauce, veggies, came with a side of fries, which were deliciously well done (like at In-N-Out)
Lobster roll (hot) - if you come here, it's sacrilege to not get one. It was great...bun was buttery and warm. Plenty of lobster. Side of fries.
Yankee Lobster is always solid, prices went up through the years but that's expected. Back in the day it was at the end of Seaport and was a hole in the wall... It's almost hipster-ish now. They're right next to the Leader Bank Pavilion (name keeps changing!!), so depending on whether there's an event, it could get crowded. Harpoon Brewery is also a couple minutes walk away.
Brian Dyke
Delicious lobster roll. Worth the cost. The fried clams are better than the fried shrimp, but still good.
櫻井浩之
I had a traditional lobster roll with french fries. The taste per se was good but there was a small lobster’s shell in it.so I was almost break my tooth. Also, the price of $33 was a bit expensive I suppose. I don't know the price may change depending on the season but at least it's more expensive than I heard.
Matthew Griggs
So far as lobster shacks go , this is among my favorites in Boston. Perched by the commercial docks, it offers the freshest, sweetest seafood you're likely to find. Highly recommended for an informal bite or even takeaway. Nom nom...
Gülşah Kılıç
It was an alright experience. We got the traditional lobster roll with fries. Size is very small, price is about 31$ with tax. Tastes alright. Patio is pretty nice and cozy.
Laura Franzini
Up front, we are two canadians that just came in from NYC today on the train. Yankee Lobster was recommended by my Manager back home, he mentioned this was a "must visit". He wasn't wrong. While Canada is full of lobster from the east coast, I had never tried it until today (literally the last seafood on the planet I have never had in it's true meat form (bisque doesn't count)). The meat was perfect. It was abundant. It was sweet, but more importantly, it wasn't bogged down in mayo. You could taste the sweet sea. Crunchy from the celery, tangy from the mayo and lemon we added on top. We also had the fried clams (a first for us both). They were crunchy and fun with the side of tartar sauce. Washed it down with an IPA and a glass of Pinot Grigio. The staff were attentive, the woman behind the cash was super pleasant and the man cleaning and waiting tables outside was helpful. Overall, great place. It was a 40 minute walk from our hotel, but it was worth it and we may just do it again.
While we noticed a few people balked at the price in the reviews, we are not sure where they think they can get a cheap lobster or seafood, back home we pay a pretty penny for lobster. Quality and quantity is at Yankee Lobster!
Thanks for the great food and nice people.
Canada loves you 🇨🇦
Brian Buck
It was pretty good. Asked for the skippers platter without everything being fried. Calamari sure is different when it’s not fried. Staff was friendly and helpful. I love that it’s across from the hotel I’m staying in and the price isn’t to hefty. Will go back.
John Eckman
The Lobster rolls cold and warm butter sauce were incredibly amazing. The lobster was fresh and had incredible flavor. The customer service was top notch. It is a staple of the community. It is a must stop and eat. Boston is full of incredible restaurants but this ranks near the top. We will be back when we return to Boston. Thank you for being open and providing us memorable experience.
Julie Stevens
We ate here our first night back in Boston, I had the crab cakes *chef's kiss* amazing. My husband had the Lobster roll, and we shared the lobster Mac n cheese. All wonderful
Allen Widjaja
The meals had average taste. Ordered 2-pound lobster, buttered lobster roll and fish taco. A bit pricey for this little joint but good service by the staffs. Just went there for curiosity because there's always a line up.
Lorenzo Washington
This was our first stop in Boston and it was very hard not to keep going back cause I really wanted to try other places. Food was amazing portions where huge. Awesome place
Richard Bui
Easily the best lobster rolls I had on this trip (I got the hot buttered lobster rolls)! The clam chowder was also spectacular but please do yourself a favor and get the lobster roll. Overall really good and the only unfortunate thing was that I didn’t have enough space in my stomach to tackle more things on the menu. Oh well, there’s always next time lol
David Pupkin
So, I live across the street from this place and I'm there maybe every week or so. I always get the Fisherman's Platter which is a ton of fish (pictured) but everything is great there.
Edit: 5/2/22 - literally going there now for lunch
just lee
Very good food and service is awesome. Clam Chowder don’t have bacon. Crab cake is very good.
Lynn Rideout
Pleasant staff. Especially the gentleman handling the entry door. Food was very good. Great portion size. We got our meal of a Rice bowl with Calamari and shrimp, Lobster Bisque and a Lobster roll to go. The order was ready in 10 minutes.
Roberto Olivares
Fisherman's platter was very good. Cod, shrimp, oysters, and especially scallops were excellent. Clam chowder was very good with generous seafood although it tasted more like clams than the tasty chowder in a restaurant. Lobster bisque had generous lobster, but lacked the sherry and other creamy deliciousness of restaurant bisque. Would not recommend the bisque. They just need to tweak their spicing a little bit. Note that food was relatively expensive and place was cramped. A lobster roll is $31. But when craving fried seafood, I'd come again if in the area.
Kristin Cato
The food was fresh and delicious! We had clam chowder, jalapeño and bacon mac n cheese, a lobster roll, and fried shrimp. The fries weren't our favorite, but everything else so good, we didn't need the fries! Service was great and food came out quick. We are from Georgia and South Carolina, so we won't get to eat here often, but we will certainly be back if we ever come back to Boston!
Joseph McGill
We have not been on the K&J Retired Persons Lobster Roll Tour in a while due to Covid but decided to check out Yankee Lobster. Glad we did. The amount of lobster was amazing! It was served nice and cold and dressed with a light mayonnaise and celery dressing but so little that it complemented the taste rather than smothering it. The fries were crisp and plentiful, the service was prompt and it was such an excellent meal that being surrounded by construction sites and trucks did not matter. Yankee Lobster takes first place over the approximately 20 lobster rolls we have had on our tour.
Tiffany
Came at 12:30pm on a sat and waited 5 min. By 1, there was a giant wait around the corner. Best lobster rolls I had in New England! The roll was made of mostly whole claw meat (lots of other places shred their rolls). Worth the wait and money!
Nakinya Janell
I had the Hot Buttered Lobster Roll...My first time ever, I must say it was amazing. I wish the butter dipping sauce had flavor but other than that it was AMAZING!
Im Free
Yankee Lobster was a great find. I first went in the Spring of 2019. Now in the Fall of 2021, I'm back and it's like I never left. Service is impeccable, atmosphere, and the food incredibly delicious!!! You can't go wrong with the Lobster roll, butter only....No mayo for me...and the Lobster 🦞 Mac and Cheese is out of this world.
If you're in Boston, do yourself and your tastebuds a favor, stop by Yankee Lobster Co. on Northern Ave.
Chris Roybal
This was a descent stop for a quick lunch. While good, was definitely my least favorite lobster roll while visiting New England. Tasty but basic. I also had a cup of chowder which was also pretty good but not my favorite stop for it. I felt like it was very pricey for what we got. Glad I stopped in but would not visit again.
Museumbrunch NYC
I’ve been coming here for years and their food is fresh and consistent. I’m not a big fan of dill in clam chowder so their chowder is perfect for my taste and lobster bisque is very good too. I am on a low carb diet so the salad with lobster meat was a good choice for me. Wait can be longer on weekends.
Rebecca Bowen
Delicious food, casual dining 😋 Fast service. Inside air conditioned seating or open air seating options. Fish tacos 🌮 were great. My husband got fish and chips. We will be back. I need to try one of the lobster roll options and we want to try a whole fresh lobster.
Blake McClard
Great place for seafood in Boston. Lobster rolls was great! They were a little late opening when we went but assuming that was due to staff shortages.
Adele Tiblier
Friend turned us on to Yankee for lobster rolls and have been coming back ever since. Hot buttered roll - yum!
Chris young
The scallops, shrimp, cod, fries, and clams are amazing in the fisherman platter. More than enough for 2 to 3 people.
TJJ
Delicious lobster and soups highlighted our visit. This place is nice but not fancy. It's located on the water front but it far from a dive. You order and find a table. The front room where we ate was small and busy. The service was fine. The hot buttered lobster roll, fish sandwich, seafood stew and traditional lobester roll were all good. On par with the better offerings we found in new England. It is not cheap food by any measure. But it was good and we would return. parking was easy.
Katherine Nguyen
Great spot for some seafood! This is a counter service establishment, where the food is then brought out to your table.
The prices are a bit high but as expected for seafood.
We enjoyed the clam chowder (not too creamy!), the chicken finger basket with french fries, and the clam strips.
The food was brought out hot, quickly, and accurately.
Hilda K
Had the clam strips, butter lobster roll and fried lobster roll. Lacked seasoning with the lobster rolls. Clam strips were nicely fried and meaty. Total for 3 was $120 with a beer, lemonade and ginger beer. Very limited seating indoors. Outside can be very hot and noisy. Came around early evening and started to get bust very fast. No reservations as it's not fancy.
jay scherder
The lobster rolls are jammed packed (but you'll certain pay for it), and the lobster bisque was pretty good. The staff was super friendly. I would definitely recommend!
Abanoub Colta
Great food and vibe! Lobster roll was stuffed and hunks of lobster in the roll. Certainly a must go
Nikhil Tibrewal
I got the traditional lobster roll for takeout and it was EPIC. The meat was perfectly tender with just the right amount of mayo. I swapped the fries with veggies and to my surprise even the veggies were excellent! Overall very filling and delicious. A bit pricey but at least I’m not disappointed.
Ira Pfeifer
Sizeable lobster rolls and crispy fries, but the flavor wasn't quite there on either. The best thing we had were the clam strips, which were excellent. Lobster tasted like it had been sitting out for a while rather than fresh-steamed, and wound up costing $35/roll - I know it's "market price," but it would be nice to display that price somewhere.
Chad Fiedler
I was looking forward to trying Yankee Lobster based on the high reviews and I have to say it was just very average. I ordered a buttered roll, which didn't have much butter and much of the lobster was dry(like it was under a heat lamp too long) and overcooked. I will give them credit that they didn't skimp meat. It's was very full and the price was very reasonable at $35. So not sure why everyone is talking about how amazing they are. I'm not going to say it was the worst roll I've ever had, but certainly not the best either.
John Ohanian
It's literally like they caught this stuff and fried it up after I ordered it. That's how fresh it was. The buttered lobster roll was sublime, the meat succulent and sweet and the roll perfectly toasted and buttered. The shrimp, calamari and fish were nicely battered and fried, perfectly flaky and delectable. Well done 👍 …
Tricia Tomaszewski (trishinboots)
Came here for a couple lobster rolls since it's close to our hotel and Guy Fieri recommended it. The lobster rolls are like $28 each, which is a wild price to me considering the seafood should probably be local and cheaper to transport. This did seem pretty standard around town at the touristy type places so I think you're paying tourist prices.
That said, the sandwich was delicious! Loads of huge pieces of lobster meat, very fresh, a little bit of a lettuce crunch, all on a nice buttery hot roll (this was the traditional sandwich, btw, not the buttery one). Very satisfying.
If it's super hot outside, I don't recommend trying to sit in the side area outside the restaurant because there is zero airflow. It might be nicer on a cooler day but on that sweltering day all I did was sweat in there. We moved to a table with an umbrella and it was still hot (100 degrees outside) but there was a lovely breeze.
Matt Reid
Everybody loved their lobster. The non lobster things on the menu for us non-shellfish people aren't very good. No reservations. Mostly semi outdoor seating. Not the nicest atmosphere. Friendly service and the food came very quickly though.
Nancy Bleam
My beer battered fish special was perfect and my aunt and uncle said their hot. Lobster rolls were the best they have ever had. You order, then sit, then they deliver your food. It was so fast!
Irene Zhang
Too salty! Esp the vegetables. Do NOT get the "mixed vegetables" (which was only broccoli btw). My lips and tongue shriveled up when the broccoli 🥦 touched my mouth. 😫 Stick to fries or onion rings. The onion rings were really good. The crobster (crab and lobster) roll is the way to go if you want something less salty. I appreciate that there wasn't a bucket of mayo in it. The bread was perfect. However, the hot butter lobster 🧈 🦞 was too salty. Fresh seafood taste salty on its own, and sometimes less is more. The clam chowder was fine; just thankful it wasn't overly salty.
Service was okay. The girl who showed us to our table and the guy who brought our food were nice. The girl at the cashier needs better listening skill. I asked her if the fish tail lemon beverage is lemon sOdA (twice) and she said yes. But came to find out it's just regular lemonade. Everything came out to be around $70 or $80.
Eva Robert
Lobster roll was incredible and perfect for sharing! We went in the late afternoon and there was no wait.
karen mccoy
Fabulous food, frienly staff, and a fun lobster shack vibe with inside and outdoor tables. Lobster roll and calamari were perfectly tender. Husband raved about his clam chowder. A nearby table ordered the 2 pound steamed lobsters. Those were some massive crustaceans!
Trani Price
The food was wonderful every thing about the food was perfect i didn't care much for the walk up and order your food than sit down process but the meal alone makes this a 5 star you will love every menu item.
Orlando Tellez
Very very taste lobster roll and outstanding clam chowder.
Cassidy Burk
My new favorite lobster roll in Boston!! I visited Yankee Lobster this past weekend and was blown away by the quality of both the lobster roll and the clam chowder. The lobster roll was piled high with great claw and tail meat and I’m not kidding when I say every single bite of my clam chowder had at least three clams in it. This will be my go to Boston lobster shack from now on!
carrie thibault
Excellent food. Best in Boston by far. We drove from Vermont specifically on a recommendation to try this place. YL did not dissapoint! The lobster roll was incredible filled with so much meat!
Takeyra Stewart
The lobster roll was delicious. Don't be afraid to try the lobster melt as well. Only downside to the meal were the fries. The fries were flavorless and tasted burnt. The prices were also much higher than other restaurants nearby.
mitty.
I ordered lobster melt and clam chowder, medium size. They were very delicious.
Kevin Burns
Amazing lobster roll - might beat the ones in Bar Harbor. I havent had one piled with so much lobster meat ever. Dressing was light and perfect.
A must go if you're in the Seaport district.
Jackson Richter
This place is one of the only joints I've tried locally that tastes like they actually make their seafood stocks from scratch and not from a pre-made or canned stock. (Legal Seafood is not even close). The lobster bisque and clam chowder were the perfect thing to warm the throat on a cold day. Atmosphere is standard sandwich shop-esque and service is counter only for the most part.
Ian Scargill
Food is excellent, we had buttered lobster roll with fries plus a drink for two. Lots of lobster, delicious!
Downside is that it's a little expensive, otherwise five stars.
Aldo Molina
Great spot for lobster in Boston. I had the traditional lobster roll, it was fresh and loaded with lobster and enough sauce to coat the meat. Truly a must try when in town!
Ferhat Kocer
This was a good experience. There is no table service but has outdoor seating with heating. They take the order inside the store and bring your table. We had clam chowder, fried calamari, lobster roll with butter and another lobster roll with mayo. Portions are big and satisfying. Soup and calamari were great. I have not had too many lobster roll to compare with others but loved these. Restaurant has their own parking lot which is plus plus.
Renee Thompson
So we happened upon Yankee Lobster while visiting Boston. No frills, no fuss, just good seafood. Loved it so much that we came back (from Atlanta) just to eat there. Now it’s an annual trip! My husband has a matrix of all of the dishes he’s going to have for the entire trip. Lol! Best, best Lobster roll and omg!!!! The scallops are amazing - fried or broiled. Yes, it’s pricy but it’s great seafood and comparable or better than some of the big, fancy restaurants. It’s worth the extra steps from the main Seaport tourist strip.
Victoria Gelmi
WHAT A CHUNK OF LOBSTER! Pricey… but what lobster isn’t? It’s an insane value for money…. Highly recommend the lobster roll. Only wish was that they had a bar!
Chelsea Fultz
I got a hot buttered lobster roll and it was EXCELLENT
Ray Feagins
Come HERE for Lobstah! Be it rolls or tails. This place is excellent!! You may have seen it on one of the food channels.
It was close to the hotel. Less than a half mile walk. As I was on foot, I didn't pay attention if there was nearby parking. It's easy to find at night as it is well lit.
It is somewhat divey but in a good way! Lots of cool signage and decor. There are lots of small brewery beers on hand. So many that I had to ask for a recommendation. Hard to believe, I know, right? They do have a lot of other great sounding options from fresh fish, to clam chowder to sandwiches.
I went with the decadently delicious hot buttered lobstah roll that comes with spectacular skin on thin crispy fries. I added a salad, you know, to make doctors happy.
That hot buttery lobster on that heavenly roll was simply incredible. Fresh tasting, hot, and sweet. The best lobster roll I've ever had.
The beer was quite good. A Rockport Brewery Pescato, an Italian Pilsner.
For 2, the bill before tip was $100. Pricey, but WELL WORTH IT! True meaning of an upscale dive!
Kate Hendrix
Really good buttered lobster roll & friendly service.
Joe Baccaro
We have been by here many times going to Harpoon. Ordered online since we did not think they had seating. When we arrived we saw that they did and were very accommodating. Great food and fast service.
Edgardo M Moya Garcia
FRESH! TRIPLE D RESTAURANT.
The best Fish and Chips I’ve ever had, The fries where crunchy and the Fish was fresh!! Prepared at the moment, excellent!
A hidden Triple D Gem! I didn’t know Yankee Lobster appeared on Guy Fieri’s Diners Drive-Ins Dives!!
Karen Fitch
Absolutely delicious! We ordered the traditional lobster roll. Filled to the top with chunky lobster. It comes with chips.
Melissa Davis
Food was great, nice outdoor table. HOWEVER, the gentleman who brought the food to our table threw it down in an astonishingly rude fashion, as if he couldn't be bothered to respect my poor daughter. My mouth hung open. Disgusted!!!
Kevin Sun
Favorite place in Seaport. Simple, pay before you get served type place with really delicious seafood. Clam chowder was hearty and full of meat, full hot cup for just $5. Fried stuff from catfish to calamari to fries was exceptionally well done. Cold lobster roll was good but not quite top tier - maybe try the hot or fried ones . And the real surprise - amazing corn on the cob!
Toni J
Expensive but delicious! Humble setting, superior food. Lobster roll is $35 but a substantial amount of lobster meat in a fresh roll.
Samantha Yuan
Followed DDD Guy Fieri ~~~~
I’m not a seafood person, but when you’re in Boston you gotta eat it!
I took bus(SL1, SL2,SLW)from south station, just 3-5 min walking from the bus station.
Lobster roll portion is decent, looks small, however I felt very full afterwards. Clam chowder is very good too, besides lots of clams, lobster is also included.
Overall, recommended 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
S L
A small unimpressive counter type shop. I was the first customer and when I finished placing my order, I turned around to see a queue that has already formed behind me!
The lobster roll was jammed packed with lobster meat all the way down to the base of the roll. There was dressing which initially I was a bit worried about it being over powering the delicate lobster taste. But no, they added just enough so that you still can taste the lobster. Yummy!
I also order a seafood stew to take away. It was good. No added flavor enhancers. I like it. Will be back for more as I still have a few days here.👍
Natalia Lara
Wow this place was great! Yankee Lobster was walking distance from Harpoon brewery where we spent our afternoon. As we walked there we saw a long line of people waiting to go into the restaurant. We waited about 45 minutes to make it into the restaurant, I really liked that they only allow people in once tables become available for that group instead of people ordering and fighting for tables! Once you're inside you order at the counter. We ordered the famous traditional lobster roll which was absolutely amazing! A cup of clam cham chowder that was perfectly creamy and added a quick with a little tabasco hot sauce. It was my first time in Boston and first time I've seen fried clams in a menu so we ordered that as well and they were delicious but so expensive! I don't think they were worth the price. This restaurant is a must when visiting boston but be ready to spend some money! My only complaint is that we had to wait so long so I wish they would have more seating with the space they have available.
Eddie Schlesinger
You don't go here for atmosphere although gotta say, very comfortable and charming in a paper plate and metal tray kind of way. Food is absolutely wonderful and price is right.
What Happens
We ordered crab cakes and fried oysters for starters and then for entrees lobster roll and fish and chips. It’s a small lively place that has outdoor and indoor seating. The food is cooked fresh and is served quickly. The fried oysters were crunchy yet moist from inside. And the crab cakes are spicy and tasty. The lobster roll is huge and full of meat I advise to share one as the portion is very big.
Felixa Valladares de Kunkle
What a great food. A small place for a great menu.
Walter Hubicki
Gluten Free options. A little pricey but it is lobster after all.
They held on to my jacket for me when I accidentally walked out without it.
Cari Ruthenberg
This is a small counter service establishment. The food was good. I ordered the lobster chowder and a lobster roll and my table shared an order of calamari. The calamari was great! it was tender and fresh. The chowder had chunks of lobster in it and was very good. The lobster roll was good. It was a little dry and a few of the pieces of lobster seemed overcooked but, it was still tasty. The service was good and friendly. They bring your food to your table after you order it from the counter. As I said, it is a small place and it was cold when I was there so, every time someone opened the door a blast of cold air came in. We all ate with our coats on but, I guest that is just expected in New England.
Laura Koehler
You do hsve to call and pay ahead- there is outdoor seating . This one probably hurts me tbe most. The presentation wasn't all that well. The calamari was mediocre. The lohster roll 😔 was not worth the money. The flavor was way way too much butter and you could still smell the sea water in the lobster. Bread was soggy (& i waited outside for the food)
Esther L.
The clam chowder is 5 stars!! Really good.. get the 16oz lest u crave for more.. the swordfish was ok..a little tough.. the red American lobster is good.. meaty and worth the $40 for 2lbs. The hot lobster roll is good as well.. staff was friendly and we love the fun music!!
Ed Siemenn
Best place in Boston for lobster rolls and clam chowder!
Jon Murrell
Yankee Lobster was delicious! I had a traditional roll and a cup of clam chowder and both were great. The menu is elaborate but not overwhelming. If I were from the area, I'd stop by frequently to work through the whole thing. Seating is a little sparse, so either go between peak times, or prepare yourself to wait. It can get pretty tight in the small space, so if you're claustrophobic, consider a more open floorplan elsewhere. The seating isn't impaired enough to warrant a lost star. This place is worth checking out.
Ankur Sharma
My goto seafood place when I am in Boston. A local jewel.
Kale N
Amazing seafood restaurant. Their lobster rolls are always packed with lobster meat. Great fries. Great appetizers. Unlined refills on fountain soda. Great clam chowder.
Messy Recipe
First, I will say, I love that they have free designated parking for the customers to the restuarant! That is very rare for Boston. The food is delicious and the staff is very kind. Their fountain drinks all come in one size and refills are free as well. My friends and I went on a Thursday evening and there was already a line outside. We waited about 15 mins before we were let in to order and were seated. The building is a little small, but there is outdoor seating as well, which helps decrease the crowd. We had ordered two lobsters, which came with fries, corn on the cob, and melted butter, and fried chicken strips, which also came with fries. It all came out very good. I have been here twice now and I am very happy to go back again.

WHAT TO TRY??
The lobster rolls. The lobsters. The crabs. This place is all about the seafood.
I like to come at lunch time since it's not enough to fill me up for dinner. This place is usually very busy with long lines so come early!!
For the amount of lobster I got in the roll, I thought it was a good size. There were fries on the side that came with the lobster roll. There were also three different types of chowder to choose from in their selections. One can also choose a seafood platter if one is feeling like more seafood than others.
It's a really small restaurant. They have patio space next to the restaurant too so it's nice to eat outside on a nice summer day. It's also nice that they bring the food to where you're seated.
LAST TIP?!
They don't take reservations and you order and pay at the front. There's different types of lobster rolls (hot or cold) so try one of each to see what type of roll you like!
Erik Gonzalez
Whoa, Yankee Lobster Co. , As close to a Sea Food Lovers Dream I've been to yet. Tight Dining Space with Pay to Park lot in Short Walking Distance. They do have a set of dining tables outside but of course only preferred during the summer months. Those look a bit more spacious than the tables indoors. We had Whole Lobsters, Whole Crabs, Lobster Roll and Lobster Mac N Cheese. All of it Delicious, We were in heavin. You are givin a mallet to break your way through the shells. People are so focused on their plate no one noticed parts of my crab shell flying across the room. I day dream about this place and cant wait to get back. Planning on it.
Michael Fuller
Loved everything about this place. Except for the birds that kept flying around looking for scraps. I hate birds. The ambiance inside was snug but inviting and if it wasn't such a nice day we would have sat inside. There was a 10-15 person line to order when we got there and the inside was packed so we ate outside around the corner. The lobster roll was excellent and the fried calamari was delicious. There's a nice beer list to go along with all the food too, you'll be glad you went here.
Chris Catalano
Visited Boston from Baltimore and asked my friend for the best Lobster roll and Clam Chowder in the city. This place hit the mark and exceeded my expectations
Jarred Hamilton (JarredHamilton)
Wow! Great lobster rolls, lobster chowder and overall feel. Obviously if you don't like a "fish smell" get it to go but otherwise enjoy. The staff were nice and happy to be there.
Tracy Law
Delicious! Had lobster and crobster roll with 1lb steamers. Fresh, unassuming and great service! We came on a Sunday, around noon. The food was fresh and tasty! No line up at the time so we took our time deciding.
Off the beaten path and far away from the usual touristy areas but it was a quick uber ride from Boston proper. Would love to come again!
Dafne Momongan-Connall (StuDaf)
Been here multiple times and it’s always awesome.
I bought live lobster here too TSA packing done for me to carry in flight however last time I bought the airline have to throw away the chowder and the box was not properly sealed. Unfortunately the manager who cater me all the time was on vacation. Hopefully they could train staff to be meticulous on these matters.
Zaynab Asma Abdullah
The lobster and crab roll was amazing. The fried calamari and sweet potato fries were super crispy, light, not oily and had just the right amount of salt. The ambience was laid back, friendly and inviting. There's always a crowd, but the line moves fast. Will definitely come back again!!
Matthew Schabath
Best lobster rolls in the Boston area.
John Sherm
One of the best meals I’ve ever had. Scallops and the lobster roll
G R Ramdas Pillai
Our go-to place for calamari and chowder. Also the fish and chips has the freshest, softest fish.
Just Phone Lah
Fantastic.
Hole in the wall
A small place with great food at small price.
There are just small outfit. Very small. But their offerings are great ! All the must eat seafood in Boston, can be found here.
With a very reasonable price too.
.
Naturally there are small trade offs. For example, their fries are not as perfectly done as compared to the other more up market eating places.
.
The atmosphere here is no frills.
Casual. Nothing formal.
Anything goes type of place to eat.
John Noethen
Location and the atmosphere is really good. Service was fantastic. Traditional lobster roll very, very good. Flavorful and good size. 1.25 whole lobster was also very good. Unfortunately the steamed clams were terrible. We ate two or three and couldn’t eat the rest. Prices are high. My recommendation is to stick to the lobster roll. It won’t disappoint.
Raymond Vega
A great place to start your journey of Boston. A short drive from Logan or the attached Hilton hotel. Since it's on the outskirts of southeast Boston, you can travel back west and stop at multiple tourist and local attractions. This may be the best Lobster Roll I've tried here and especially enjoyed the fried version with extra butter. The pricing was fair and they have a great $2 breakfast menu which is a great way to feed the family.
Emily Yolo
Clam chowder was very generous with clam. My favorite of Boston so far. It was very salty though.
Ralph Sandoval
Great little spot for fresh seafood. Will be coming back. Short drive from the airport. Go during odd hours to beat the line.
stefano antonio arcoleo
Well was ok ...first time I pay 33 USD for a sandwich.....fast paste place good quality but not cheap....
Meghana Raja
Even if the line is halfway down the block, don't be discouraged! It moves fast and is definitely worth it. The classic lobster roll is freaking delicious! I want to go back and try the hot lobster roll next. And even though they don't need to be, the fries are amazing too! The one thing I wasn't a fan of is the environment. It's so crowded inside and it gets so loud, so sit outside if you can or just get the food to go!
Lindsay Malsam
I ordered the crab cake sandwich. It was delicious, and I would defiantly order it again. My husband ordered the lobster roll. I liked it, but next time I would want to try the butter lobster roll. The fries were good, but I didn’t find them special or an item that would make us want to come back. We would come back for the crab cake.
Gustavo Celis Guzmán
The best lobster roll in the area! The sandwich was really big, full of lobster meat and with fries. I'll go there again.
Ralph Pachon
The food was great, 2 lbs of lobster was tasty n juicy. Definitely a place I'd come back to!
Red Class 1
Very good! I don’t like a lot done to my lobster.. just give it to me lol😂 reason they didn’t get 5 stars is because claw meat is plentiful but out of 3 lobster rolls… very little tail meat …
S L
Wonderful little hole in the wall place. I tried the half lobster half crab roll and enjoyed it thoroughly. Would definitely recommend to anyone else passing through!
Alexander C. Gansmeier
Amazing Buttered Lobster Rolls, absolute recommendation for Boston. Tons of other seafood items are also available, although I've never tried those ;-)
Parking right on site is a bit tight, but there's usually always enough spaces around the Seaport, so that's not an issue.
Nice seating outdoors, also covered for mixed weather.
Henry Liwe
The place is a little bit small and easily get packed. Tried the fried lobster roll and nothing really special. It tastes just OK. I came here because of the high review, maybe my expectation is just too high and have tried something better.
Jobany Villatoro
The food was delicious and we were seated fast, even though it was a Saturday at 1pm. The place was packed, but the food came out fast.
Kara Nolan
The guy taking orders wasn't super friendly. The lobster roll was quite delicious. They didn't bring out my son's (5) food until I asked about it so who knows how long it was sitting back there. It is kind of far from everything else and there are better options available. Not the worst so if I was down that way I'd not avoid it but I wouldn't go out of my way to go.
Courtney C
First Time there. Loved it. Liked the outdoor seating nook. Had the warm butter lobster roll. And shared some of my guy's fish platter. Dee-lish!
T J S
This is the place that is consistently marked as the best lobster roll in Boston. It was certainly the best one I had while I was in Boston. I also tried the fish sandwich and it was very good. They have a good amount of seating and the service is pretty quick.
Ryan Karatimus
Want a quick taste of some great Boston lobster? Hit up Yankee Lobster, not only do they do commercial lobster sales, they have a quick service seafood bar. You may have to wait in line for a few minutes, but the lobster rolls are worth it. Fresh, crisp, and tasty.
Paul Baldridge
Amazing lobster roll! Generous portion of meat filling and perfectly seasoned. Freshly made using quality ingredients. Was it expensive? Yes. Was it worth it? Absolutely!
Elayne Monique
Delicious & fast! Tried the fried lobster roll and it was Amazing with the dipping butter. 😋
Bikerz Finest
Fantastic experience. Gives you that true clam house vibe. Super friendly staff and awesome food. Enjoyed a fisherman’s platter , chowder and fried oysters. All was fresh and hot & crispy. Great place if you want great seafood.
Cary Golomb
I seldom travel to Boston but when I do I make sure to visit Yankee Lobster. I'm not the biggest Seafood fan but even I can admit the Lobster Roll is amazing. Just a solid spot, nothing fancy.
For those who can simply not tolerate Seafood there is also Cheeseburgers and Chicken Tenders.
Easy to recommend.
Micheal B
The lobster roll hot home, but we had ordered the atter not knowing what it really was. It tasted fine, but deep frying all that seafood is almost sac religious. Id go back for lobster, but it seems like a tourist trap, and we bit.
Sonyah
I enjoyed my fried lobster sandwich. It was delicious and perfectly cooked. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be coming back to try other things.
Jesus Trejo
Great lobster around this area. Convenient and close to the seaport hotel.
Renee Canfield
We had a lobster roll and mac with Buffalo chicken. Everything was great! And enjoyed that they had a patio.
Betty K.
Lobster roll is quite good, just price is quite high at $25. 2lbs lobster comes with fries, cob of corn and coleslaw at $39. Crab cakes are just okay.
Nils Gabelgaard
Awesome famous place to go for some great seafood.
Besides the local know clam chowder you should not miss the lobster!
Nicely cooked and great tasting.
Be sure to come not to late, 9pm closing.
Barbara Gorlini
One of the best crab cakes I’ve ever had, soft and delicate, quality meat and cooking. One would’ve expect this without trying. Excellent!
k Ac
Best Lobster Rolls and crab cakes near and far. Order placed every Sunday afternoon. I purchase the crab cakes and cook them during the week. Never disappoints… Harry
LaTia Scott
I was told by a native Bostonian that I had to try Lobster rolls here. I'm curious and this was walking distance from my hotel so, I just went alone to make sure it was official. When I arrived there was a slight line outside, to be fair the place is fairly small so I could see how it can get crowded quickly. Aj was the greeter at the door and Aj makes you feel welcomed. I decided to dine in and my order was quickly taken and I was sat inside immediately. I ordered the hot buttered lobster roll with sweet potato fries. Superb choice......the big chunks of perfectly cooked and tossed in hot buttered and placed on the roll😋 YUM! It was delicious and the fries were nice and crispy. My only gripe is how early they close.....8pm 😩
Katie Yao
Staff were speedy and helpful when getting my take out order. Not a big fan of the hot dog bun not being an NE hot dog bun but it was toasted. Also the buttered lobster roll wasn’t great because the lobster seemed a tad over cooked but it was still delicious. Unsalted fries
Ham burglar
I really enjoyed the libster roll, but cried when it rang up at $25! I paid it and the roll was good..but felt I overpaid. I ordered an apple cider and once again cried when it rang up as $8+ . The food comes quick and the servers are very sweet..but the costs packed a whallop!
Dan C
Had the fried lobster roll, fries and slaw. Everything was fresh and tasty. Lobster, is market price and the quality and flavor shine through. Staff is friendly and ready to answer questions about the menu. If requested the staff will make small recommendations based on information provided. Small shop primarily dealing in wholesale market which is predominant in this area. Went early right after opening to avoid long wait times.
Legboo
That Lobster Roll changed my life! It was so juicy and flavorful, I couldn't get enough. The Dolla Dolla Pisner was excellent! Yankee Lobster is truly the restaurant you want to try.
Rubin Wilson
Friendly staff, but the fish could use a little more seasoning. Was some what bland and needed the tartar sauce to help with the taste. Will have to try the lobster roll the next time, and see what that's like.
Sara Choi
Yankee Lobster is a small, unassuming shack-like restaurant tucked away at the end of Northern Ave in the seaport. It's not much to look at from the outside, but the inside is where the magic happens.
I ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and the fisherman's platter, and both were delicious. The lobster Mac and cheese was among the best I'd ever eaten, and the fisherman's platter was standard fried seafood.
I took off one star for the almost rude service i received. The ordering process was a bit unorganized and confusing, and the questionable attitudes of the employees didn't help.
H. Alex C
Terrific fried calamari and oysters! Free-parking which was a huge plus in Seaport. This place would have been perfect without the pathological liar cashier.
D L
I came with high expectation, from the ratings and friends recommendation. Had the clam chowder and traditional lobster roll.
Clam chowder was good, not salty just the right density and lots of good chunks inside, without smelling canned or too fishy ( recommended)
Lobster roll, where to begin, lobster meat is about quarter pound, so it not huge but decent amount. 2nd the bread was disproportionate, so much bread and nothing really special, the insides were soft and no dressing at all. If you love carbs then munch your way through, but I was peeling away the bread. Who needs 2.5cm thick bread on either sides. 3rd and most disappointing was the poor effort of seasoning the roll, who in their right mind, uses lettuce- ice berg lettuce, with slight seasoning at the bottom of the bread.... iceberg lettuce doesn't hold that flavor and compared to the portions, they barely sprinkles it on the base (exaggerated). Use cabbage and season it well or something else...
4th lobster was lobster,,, didn't have much flavor to it, though it was fresh.
The issue with this place is scaling, with larger customer numbers, kitchen and ingredients will start lacking.
Would I come back again- for $29 a roll, id try another place.
Get the food right and back to original standards.
John Arg.
Everything was tasty! The Lobster roll was delicious.. suggestion, maybe if the lobster was warm it would be perfect! Nice stuff but a little bit overcrowded..
Nick K
I've had takeout from here several times and the quality is always fantastic. Best value for $ lobster roll you can get in the area (in terms of quality + quantity).
Thomas Tribandis
Lobster roll with all the outdoor dining excitement of a real New England rotary. The lobster rolls are excellent, the traffic at the seaport not so much.
Hanqing Wang
Terrific. So much lobster meat in each roll!
JOYCE CAGNON
Very limited menu. Yucky French fries, too small fried to long.
But my blackened salmon was spot on. Atmosphere crazy, but great fun. Staff on point. Will return
Thuy K.
No-nonsense, efficient, and pretty good. Whole belly clams were fresh and portion size was worth the price. Traditional cold lobster roll was only lightly seasoned with mayo and other spices, which makes the natural lobster taste stand out but I would've liked more flavor. I kept adding Old Bay. My partner had sweet potatoes and fries and they were about a 3.5 because you could taste the burnt oil.
Kaleigh Shipman
We visited Yankee Lobster because of our love for Guy Fieri and DDD and it definitely lived up to the hype! We tried the hot buttered lobster roll, the bacon jalapeño mac n cheese and the fried shrimp basket and all were DIVINE. Fresh, delicious, filling and overall just amazing. You also have to try their homemade sodas—delish!
Adam P
Friendly & fast service + excellent quality fish & chips (massive serving of fries). Lobster rolls are expensive but that seems to be the case everywhere in Boston now.
Duo Rose
Really love this place. Excellent seafood and my favorite clam chowder in Boston. Extremely friendly service team that remembers you each time you visit.
Jaime Najbrt
Excellent food. Gluten free options. Fast service! Friendly stag. Clean restrooms. Outdoor seating.
JP Hong
Good job!
Paul Piatkowski
First, the food here is delicious! We are on vacation and have come for dinner twice. On top of that the service is superior; the first night, the server answered our questions and gave great recommendations, and on the second night, the staff went out of their way to make sure we got our order in after we made a mistake. Eat here! ❤️❤️❤️❤️

This is a great little hole in the wall restaurant where you will find very good food and a decent beer selection. Its a fairly small spot with not that many tables but the turn over is rather quick so if you have a small group, you won't have to wait that long. It attracts both local blue collar guys as well as tourists and serves very hearty and yummy local seafood meals. The beer selection is okay with most of it being in cans and few so-so beers ones on tap.
Its enjoyable low price but very good quality New England seafood that will leave you quite satisfied. I will continue bringing my out of town guests here an am hoping eventually they will have a couple of solid signature meals AND a better beer selection.
Christopher Meo
The clam chowder had a wonderful smokey taste, something you can't miss. The lobster roll had a great toasted butter roll which you also can't forget. The lobster Mac and cheese had a little too much seasoning but still good. Can't beat the price.
JRod Petey
One of the best lobster rolls you’ll find.
Jared Estes
The lobster rolls were great! There was plenty of lobster on them making them generously large. Service was great also, I highly recommend.
Chase
Lobster Mac is a must! Be prepared for a line but it moved quickly. Also tried the fish and the chips but prefer other harbor side restaurants for fish and chips.
Renee Bastermajian
As a girl from the midwest, eating fresh lobster while visiting Boston was top priority on my list! Another Boston local that I met while visiting recommended this place for a lobster sandwich.
Place is pretty small and can only fit around 30 people inside (eyeballing it). Don't let it's appearance from the outside fool you though! Wasn't a fan of waiting outside in the rain to eat but it was worth the wait. Even with a packed house, the total wait time was only a little over half an hour.
In short my meal was amazingly delicious and if I ever come back to Boston, this will be #1 of my list for my lobster roll follow-up!
Michael Stevens
Not bad but fairly expensive, would recommend the warm roll over the cold.
Tracy Butcher
Last stop during a week long work trip. The lobster rolls are wonderful! Really enjoyed the clam chowder as well. It was packed but they are super efficient and friendly! Can't wait to come next time I'm in town!
Christine Tong
If you love lobster rolls.. i highly recommend this place.. the portions were good.. price was decent.. definitely would go back..
Chris Forbes
Freshest seafood ever. Had the hot buttered lobster roll and it was fantastic. Giant, whole pieces of lobster dripping with butter in a perfectly toasted bun. I can't wait to go back and try all the other fantastic things on the menu.
David Wang REALTOR
Freshest Lobster in Boston! Very out of the way location. But, worth the extra Lyft ride. Seating is very casual. Some inside seating. Mostly outside seating.
anasorSKA
Good price for top quality food. The onion rings tasted great. The seafood stew just had abalone and shrimp.
Ryan Kohlbeck
This is a comfy little place with a lot of character and simple outstanding seafood. I had the clam chowder and a lobster roll. Both were excellent and worth the price I paid.
Marwan Ali
If you go to Boston make sure to stop by this place.
Food was amazing, menu has everything to satisfy that seafood craving you’ve been having for a while.
Small and packed place.
# I can eat seafood everyday
Mohammed Rafathullah
Small clam chowder was delicious and sufficient for one person. Fried lobster roll was excellent.
Nicole Smith
Hole in the Wall -- down home experience. Keep in mind all clams up here have bellies, so if you don't like that, make sure to let it be known. Everything was good here, just don't go in with the incorrect expecations as this place is 100% no frills with good food!
Michael Cady
The lobster roll is big enough for two! Share a bowl of chowder and fried clam strips too.
Maya Agarwal
Love this place so much! The hot lobster roll and fried oysters are fantastic and the music is amazing!!! Perfect setting to eat your heart out in fresh seafood
Tim Tucker
Best Clam Chowder ever! Lobster bisque was also great ( CC was better! ). Crobster roll was Grrrrrreat!
Brittany Dunn
We were lucky and went in the middle of the afternoon so we didn't have to deal with the long line that is normally there. I had my first Lobster Roll I've ever had here and I was so pleased. The fries were great as well. The employees were very sweet and answered all of my questions.
Scott Faivre
Cool little hole in the wall place we found by looking at its great Yelp ratings. My wife had a lobster roll that she devoured oh, and this was my last opportunity to eat a whole lobster before I left town so I took them up on it. It was great and the staff was very friendly!
Ross Rylance
If you want Lobstah with out all the expense of a table cloth and huge views then this is THE SPOT in Boston to eat!
I have been privy to about 75 meals here as a touring Roadie playing the Pavillion next door!
They supply 60% of all the local restaurants with their lobsters...
Again this is THE SPOT!
James Hull
We love the succulent, over-stuffed lobster rolls and super fresh whole belly clam! Thanks for using bio-degradable/ compostable to go containers snd bags, that’s awesome!!!
Angela Hammang
Probably the best clam chowder on my 2 week trip to Boston... And I ate a lot of clam chowder. Great lobster roll too! Fun place to go after Fenway!
David H
First official authentic lobster roll.
Very delicious but way overpriced for something that is right outside the door in the bay.
nounou nounou
Highly recommended,
I had one of my best experience customer service it was amazing, staff are very friendly they made my day ,definitely I'm coming back food and service are the best In Boston thank u so much
Michael Chen
Yankee Lobster was where I tried my first lobster roll and the restaurant did not disappoint at all. It's situated near Boston Harbor and has quaint decor on the inside that reminds you of your proximity to the ocean.
I ordered the Hot Lobster Roll which has lobster meat sauteed in butter before being served on the roll. It came with fries that were crisp and a side of cole slaw. There was a very generous portion of lobster meat on the roll that made the $26 price worth it.
Ken Urban
Wonderful place! Colorful, outdoor seating, staff is very friendly and helpful, and food is divine!! We highly recommend this restaurant!
Brayden Moore
The lobster rolls are decadent and devastatingly simple. They do not skimp on the lobster, and the hot butter fits perfectly with their perfectly toasted bun.
Fantastic beer menu, albeit quite short.
Victor Wang
Blew me away with simple well made inexpensive seafood Staples. Service was pretty quick although the wait time can be quite variable. The line seemed to ebb and fade within the span of 10 minutes. Lots of seating although not very high end decor. Fish and chips was exactly what I expected and was very well made.
Jason Barney
Words are not adequate to describe the greatness of Yankee Lobster! If there is food in heaven, this is what is served at every meal. I couldn't find a place to sit inside, so I was seated at one of the tables in the front of the cafe. Those passing by we're staring with hungry eyes, and I was afraid someone was going to snatch my food and make a run for it.
Rolando Troconis
The Lobster roll. The best!
MiddleSis 808
A tour operator said this place was a tourist trap. Maybe so, but on the day we went, it looked liked mostly local construction guys. The hot buttered lobster roll was delicious.
Jaime Najbrt
This was a gem of a find. I'm not a seafood lover, but my traveling partner is. They were able to accommodate my gluten free needs. The salad was HUGE. The fries are fried in a separate vat from the deep fried foods with breading - so I was able to eat them. The line may be long depending on what time you arrive but they are fast. There is also parking and outdoor seating.
Liseli P.
You can dine outside or take out. Better know what you want before you go in as the guy behind the counter takes orders super fast and doesn't have a lot of patience for dithering. He's very nice tho and is good with the recommendations. You can wait outside fr your order to be ready and they will call you on the phone. The portions are generous and satisfying. They close around 7pm but check the info before you go
Purdey Go
Lobster roll was okay. Fries were great. Clam chowder was really good. Staff was fast with their service and friendly.
Ryan Birkicht
Best clam chowder I've ever had. The fried lobster roll and the hot lobster role left something to be desired and at $24, I guess I was expecting more. On the other hand, the cold lobster roll was tasty and I would buy again. To recap: get the cold lobster roll and a bowl of clam chowder and you'll leave Yankee Lobster a happy camper.
Juan Meave
Whenever family comes to visit I take them here for the lobster roll. It’s definitely not cheap but it’s never let me down.
Kim Johnson
Some of the best seafood 😋. Locals know all about this place .Gotta try the fried oysters, so good! …
Bryan Predmore
Great spot with really good food. I gave 4 stars for the space and the price. It was a little crammed inside and the picture has $96 of food in it. The staff was super friendly and the food was outstanding. I liked the decor inside and they even had outdoor seating as well. It's definitely a popular spot for a good reason!
Michael McLane
Buttered lobster roll was fantastic. Fries were crispy and delicious. The Lobster chowder was creamy with big chunks of lobster. Top it off with a Harpoon UFO from the brewery next door and it was an awesome meal.
Solomon Chis
Great spot next to the airport. The lobster can't get any fresher. The clam chowder is the best in Boston. It has chucks of clams and is not to cream cheese type consistency.
N W
Must try in Boston, super generous, market price
Jessica S
Brought a group of friends here for dinner and was not disappointed. They added additional seating next door and it was nice that there was heating for the chilly weather. The food is worth the price and the service is outstanding. There was a small mistake with our orders but it wasn’t a big deal. The seafood was delicious and fresh and would definitely want to come back again for the platters and the mac and cheese lobster.
Aaron Maybury
Neck in neck with Neptune Oyster for best lobster roll in town, and certainly more accessible. Also try the fried clams
Mike Fratto
Nice place in Boston to get a reasonably priced meal. Lobster and crab are expensive anywhere, but this is fresh and delicious. I had a Crobster roll which is crab and lobster. There was probably 1/2 lbs or more on a toaster roll along with cole slaw and fries. There was a bit of mayonnaise to bind it together but otherwise all meat.
The restaurant is pretty small and people are packed in. There's also outside seating. Everyone is friendly and the service was fast. We waited about 15 minutes for a table.
Chris Johnson
Fast service, excellent fresh lobster butter roll.
William Cook
Yum. But it had better be for a $30. For a buttered Lobster roll. Flavorful tasty, with a fresh roll again yum. Side of fresh out of the fryer French fries. My extra side of frozen corn on the cob not so good. When I received the first one it couldn't melt butter and to touch still felt frozen. I sent it back after I had finished my roll. To wait another 10 minutes to get a different smaller Hot corn on the cob. That was juicy for, but not roasted taste as they want you to believe with char marks.
Great bottle of Yankee Lobster Raspberry lime soda! Refreshing.
Alex Torres
Worth the wait to get in. Good came out fast and was delicious. The chowder was so good it almost stole the show from the lobster. Almost.
Emmett Photography
Food was great, service is kind of so so, seating is hole in the wall style. Prices are high - but being so popular is going to change that anytime soon. It was be good to have some cheaper options for the "rest of us".
Jess Laventall
Lobster Roll, crab cakes, lobster Mac and an IPA; what a way to end a long day walking around Boston!
Wayne Clark
It was our first time there and we loved it. Seafood is my thing and the Yankee Lobster exceeded every catorgory! I've never, anywhere in the USA had seafood this fresh, good and presented so well. You must try it.
Charles Clark
Bought a lobster roll ! It was alright except no dressing ((mayo) . You must specify! Had to go to Whole Foods to get packets! Claw meat not bad! Fries were ok!
Jocelyn S
One of my favorites in Boston. Lobster roll is a must ( both the cold and the buttered one were great). In a city where clam chowder reigns, the lobster bisque here was outstanding and even better I think. The line advances quickly and the staff is great and friendly. Did I mention that Harpoon brewery is a couple of blocks away? It could be a perfect pre or post beer meal.
Angel Latterell
Amazing! Great food, great staff. My first 2lb lobster- it was just as tasty as it was fun to play with.
Jammi shen
Food is so amazing . Staff is so friendly.
Beware! their stuffed clams are GiANT!
Cheryl Schemanski
Had to wait for a bit , but not really long. All 3 of us had lobster rolls. They were amazing! Well worth the wait.
Dustin Callahan
Very lobster roll experience and it was fantastic. Got the buttered lobster roll and it exceeded my expectations. Lots of juicy lobster in the roll. Definitely would go again.
Matthew Wilson
The lobster roll is packed with huge tender pieces of lobster. Very fresh tasting. Fries are perfectly crisp.
Tom F.
Loved it!! Awesome atmosphere, absolutely amazing food!! It was my first time to Boston and I knew I wanted a Lobster roll and Lobster mac. Being my first experience, I was beyond impressed! The Lobster mac was probably the best I've ever had, just as a Mac n cheese. I really like the cornbread, soft, moist and sweet. The buttered Lobster roll was outstanding, on a soft delicious roll. The only thing I didn't care for at Yankee Lobster was the French fries. Be prepared to really drop some cash. Although for 2 people, I spent $150, I do not regret one cent. The meal was unforgettable and totally worth traveling across the country for!
Rikkman Vonn
The place is small but, great lobster bisque,
And lobster roll and the side steamed vegetables and cole slaw.
I took the order to go to avoid to wait to be seated after the line. Its a popular place.
Megan
Solo traveler here: I came here because Triple D came here and had a "ridiculous" Lobster Mac N Cheese. The place is tiny but I got to sit at the bar. I ordered the lobster Mac N cheese and it was just okay. It didn't seem "comforting" enough. Like it seemed like cooked pasta was thrown in a bowl, generic cheese sauce , some lobster bits, then a sprinkle of bread crumbs. I thought it needed more flavor and more bread crumbs for sure, and it would be better baked to give it that comfort food feeling. Like I said, I sat at the bar and I got my meal in 15 minutes. Good service!
Tony C
Great food, generous portions. Lobster roll is good. Less of a restaurant more like a cafe. Can't complain
Sam K
Very good for lobster roll and fish and chip. Long line but worth the wait
Bruce W
We each had a 2lb lobster and we shared 1 lobster roll and a couple of beers. The food was very good. The disappointment was the outdoor eating area was in an alley with no water views as was stated on Google. The line was long, about 25 minutes.
Reza Jahromi
Great seafood. Came here with family and had a wonderful experience. Lobster roll was exceptional.
Christopher Sanders
Lower key than other seafood places, very unpretentious, and the food is fantastic. Come very hungry.
Alex
Honestly this was our second pick for eating on this particular evening, but with Harbor Side having a 2 hour wait we decided to stop here. Also the fact that Guy Fieri ate here made it interesting too. Definitely weren't disappointed. It's a super small restaurant, and you have to stand outside in line and they let one table in at a time as someone gets up. Wait wasn't bad, and food is definitely good.
Zoobie Do
Awesome place for seafood. Go in small groups of 4 or less. We went in a group of 12+. Its hard to keep track of what was ordered.
Brian Tran
Small inconspicuous yet practical joint for a quick bite for some delicious seafood. Decor is nothing fancy and you’re not there for the atmosphere. There are outdoor seating to three front and at the side of the restaurant. You order and pay as you enter, they give you a number and you find yourself a table and they bring you the food.
Whole lobsters and lobster rolls were the common dish. The lobster bisque had lots of chunks. Excellent. The raw oysters were very fresh as usual. The staff were very attentive, quick and friendly. Very reasonable prices. Place gets get crowded at peak hours so be prepared to wait or go a bit later a bit after 7.30-8pm
Calvin M
Wow!!!!! This is amazing!
I come here every time I come to Boston! The food is amazing - like everything here is amazing-
Pros:
-everything on the menu is amazing!
-fresh - ask for a tour and he will bring you to the back where all the lobster comes in!
-friendly staff
Cons:
-they don't have a location by my house :)
This is a must try!
Nader Jaber
The fish and chips were pretty tasty, but the portion size left a lot to be described. If you're hungry, plan on spending double. But you may find that to be worth it.
Amy kennedy-rickman
A small dinner like atmosphere with a Big Bang when it comes to the food! Friendly staff and fantastic hot lobster roll- a must try when in Boston!
Majid Daia
These guys need to expand. Their lobster rolls and fried shrimp were fantastic. Just the right spice and crunch. Simple dishes with the right culinary touch.
Evan You
Good lobster roll, not best I've ever had. The brioche roll was fresh and toasted nicely, lobster was ok nothing special. Lobster Mac and Cheese was overcooked
mushy. I wouldn't order it again. For the price I paid I expected better.
Dr JoAn Monaco
Everything was great…lobster roll, fish tacos, poke bowl.
Andrew Apollo
Great lobster rolls. Worth a visit.
Dan Auslander
The food was good and the counter service was quick. Not a lot of space inside to eat. Surprisingly cocktail sauce was not available, just tartar and ketchup. Limited beer selection but some good local brews that went well with the seafood.
Stephanie Huezo
BEST PLACE HANDS DOWN💪🏼💪🏼 came from Long Island NY, their lobster mac and cheese as well as the lobster roll was worth the drive🤩🤩 …
Ali Abdulla
Good seafood.
We tried the Lobster Rolls - very good. Crab cakes Good and Salmon Burger excellent.
Good portions. The Lobster is a bit on the pricy side but worth it.
Gets busy quickly at lunch and dinner time. Be ready for at least 30 min Q on weekends
Brenda Dolinski
Amazing!!! The staff is flipping amazing. The Crobster Roll...holy buckets people! A must stop on your trip!!!
Allison Stern
The service was pretty quick, everyone enjoyed their food. Lobster rolls were tasty, good chicken fingers for the kids
Kellster 5000
First time, obvious tourists from Chicago area. It was great! Crabster Roll (Lobster and crab 🦞 🦀), Lobster Mac and Cheese, and Lobster chowder (not pictured). Yum! …
Fabrice
Both, clam chowda and lobster roll, are right out delicious! If you only have the time to try one restaurant during your visit in Boston, choose this one! (Beer is expensive though (8$) like everywhere in the US … at least it didn’t taste like water).
Julie Bateman
Great value for money. Delicious lobster roll and lobster Mac and cheese. Friendly staff.
Mike Ferraco
The food deserves the 5-star review, but the experience is priceless. This is your traditional New England lobster shack. Get one of the lobster rolls. You won't regret it. Ivan, the amazing manager, took us into the back where they keep the lobsters and even let us hold some 6 pounders. The experience truly was priceless, and this is a place I will return to the next time I make it to Boston.
Chiara Marsoner
Good little spot with fresh lobster cooked both the Massachusetts and Connecticut way. Lobster bisque is the best I have ever had!
MARGE KUNIAN
Excellent - Delicious food. Nice place to sit. Worth 5 stars. Not inexpensive.
Bryan Adcock
So good. Chowder, fried clams and lobster roll on point. Worth the money.
Michael Wenzel
I had a great lobster roll here. They serve a solid fare of food.
Ki Aguero
I visited Boston with a coworker, and one of the customers we met with recommended this place, based on its freshness and that it's less touristy. The restaurant is small and very basic, but the food and beverage were local and delicious. Hope I get the chance to come back sometime!
Mark Henry
The Lobster Roll OG. Gotta get it hot with butter. The key is they mix the lobster and butter together before putting in the roll (rather than giving you a side of hot butter to pour over). It makes all the difference!
Morgan D
Delicious, full morsels of succulent lobster. Lovely fresh fish selection as well. I visited from DC and my Boston friends insisted I try it.
Emily Kotkowski
The absolute best! Little lobster "shack" past the rest of the hubub. Incredible food, decent prices, just a great experience!
John Bowes
Fun & funky. Fish from the ocean out back
Jason Heming
Great food, atmosphere left a little to be desired, but if you want great seafood fresh then this would be a worthwhile choice
N Q
Visiting from Ottawa, Canada and stopped by for lunch. Service was great and friendly, and the food (especially the extra fried fish n chips and lobster mac) was fantastic!!
Hamza Malik
Great fish and chips platter, loved everything about the meat, very tasteful! Would definitely be going there again for sure.
Sergio Nieto
Casual seafood place. Inefficient and unfriendly staff. They make you wait in a line when there are several empty tables. Lobster roll was good, but not the best one I've had, and it had some shell pieces.
Alex G.
Well known for their lobster roll. Everyone who got it really enjoyed it. I had the fish and chips! The battered fish was really good! Please try the crab cakes! They were really krispy and the sauce that goes with it is amazing!
Kelly F
Enjoyed the warm buttered lobster roll & some raw oysters! The girl behind the counter was very nice, and the ordering process was easy! Food came out quick, and everything was delicious.
Ghassan 'Gus'
Waited in line for an hour. The seafood is fresh and delicious. One of the places to visit when you visit Boston.
Arin Sarris
Had a quick pass-through trip of Boston a couple years ago with the wife so we figured that we would of course make a slight detour / pit stop to grab some of the renowned Boston grub. Boy, were we disappointed. The wait in line was one thing but as others noted, its small / cramped with little room to stand let alone sit. Nonetheless, we were excited (and hungry) so we ordered some staples via lobster rolls, chowder, etc. While the chowder was good, the rest was bland, and at those prices, I'm sorry but that place should be ashamed of themselves. We can make better lobster rolls from scratch at home and even the chowder just wasn't anything special. The food wasn't bad but it was far from great. Being seafood aficionados, we would not recommend. At those prices, you can order straight to your home and just cook it off yourself without the hassle, parking, and other headaches in downtown Boston.
Jacqueline Schillinger
Excellent selection of seafood and friendly service.
Wei Lu
Stopped in for some delicious oysters, lobster rolls and fried calamari for lunch. Order and pick your own seating. Food arrived quickly. Took some fresh lobster home too.
Additional seating in covered patio with heating.
AABest
Great food, delicious lobster roll but a bit pricey. Order at the counter then they'll find you with your food.
Le Si Hung
Very hospitality. the lobster roll is very tasty, the lobster is fresh and chewy. And the waitress is one of the most friendly waitresses that I met in Boston.
Definitely visit again if I have the chance!
Thad Freeman
The food was spot on. If you want lobster or a lobster roll this is the place to go.
Will Leitch
Lobster roll was excellent. Fish chowder was very good. Fish and chips overcooked. Fries, meh.
Jordan Cassidy
The hot lobster rolls are out of this world!
Laura D
Amazing food and good quality lobster. Mac n cheese is awesome too!
Mike Love
Small place with great food! Would recommend to anyone that enjoys seafood.
Hali Whitehurst
We're from MN so of course we had to get a fresh lobster roll! The hot buttered lobster roll was mouth watering, so good! There was a line when we got there a little after they opened at noon but it went quick and was a cool atmosphere with nice staff.
Sherry Z. Thomas
Best lobster rolls we have had in Boston!! Definitely would recommend!!!
Brandon Kohr
Pretty good seafood. Went with hot buttered lobster roll on recommendation from one of the employees. Was lukewarm and tasty, but not sure it was worth the price. Clam chowder and fried clams were very good and would highly recommend. Overall, decent but overpriced.
J H
Ate 6lb lobster, amazing spot. Hidden gem!
Quyen Nesbeth
My family had different taste preferences so finding this spot and pleasing everyone was a huge score! We ordered lobster rolls, salmon, fishermen platter, mix vegetable (which was just seasoned broccoli misleading but still good), sweet potato fries, and a couple drinks. It was very busy and you seat yourself. All the food was fresh and good.
Chen C
Lobster roll(hot) is good. A bit disappointed with clam roll (fried)
Mahdi Shirvin
Great quality. Fresh. Definitely, pays off. 👌
Chris Thai
Hot butter lobster roll was so good. I wish I had more time in Boston to eat the other styles as well.
Stuart Connall
Normally we have great food here but this time our lobster was overcooked. And it came out too quickly to be cooked to order. Please, please, please. cook to order. Freshly cooked is worth the wait. as long as it isn't over cooked. We have been here so many times and this is the first poorly cooked lobster we ever had here, so we will come back. The staff is great here, also.
G P
The lobster Mac and cheese was good, but it did not live up to diners and drives hype.
Keith Allen
Heard about a Crab Melt from a friend and I lucked up and found a LOBSTER MELT....and it did not disappoint!!
Patrick
Great Lobster Rolls! Definitely some "greasy spoon" dining but worth it!
Ricky Dunbar
Met the family here for our first dinner after arriving in town. We had a big party and they worked to accommodate us late in the evening.
The service was solid. Everyone was attentive and incredibly friendly and helpful to us out of towner's.
The food was amazing. Lobster rolls, oysters, calamari, chowder, all of it. Nothing was bad. In fact, everything was incredible. My only gripe was that my lobster roll had a lot of shell still in it. No one else's did, so I'm sure it was an anomaly.
We'd also just rented a car and they have a parking area off to the side. This was a huge perk. I wasn't expecting that. All in all great experience and we'd definitely go back!
Alex Campbell
Tacos were crisp, lobster was excellent and everything was well priced.
Thomas
Best lobster roll on the east coast.
Seriously, I have a long list and these guys are at the top!
Robert McElroy
Wow. Took them less time to prepare hot lobster roll and fries than it took for me to walk over there from across the street. It was a 5 minute walk. Ordered right off google and couldn’t believe how quickly it was ready. Guy behind the register was friendly and the lobster roll was just unreal. Incredibly flavorful and filled to the top with the good stuff. A little pricey but worth every penny.
John Hui
The lobster roll was really good I liked the original over the hot lobster roll. The lobster Mac looked really good but the portions looked kinda small so I passed on it.
Gregory Brown
Very good lobster roll and fries. Had some shells in my lobster though
Long Nguyen
This place has excellent Lobster Rolls and price is reasonable. Save money to have a whole bucket of 4 beers instead of single. I really enjoy and love it.
Brian Sinclair
If you love lobster bisque, Yankee Lobster is a must visit. The soup was rich and creamy and was absolutely loaded with lobster meat. And when I say "loaded", I don't mean chunks of lobster, rather I mean entire lobster claws. It was fantastic.
Heidi Reid
New to the area and never liked lobster before I tasted these. They are amazing.
Goldenpie Hk
one of the best Lobster roll in town! must try shop in Boston
Joe Qiu
the lobster roll is too expensive, $68. There is no price on the menu for the lobster.
Oscar
This place is a hidden treasure. Definitely stands out for their good prices and taste in an area with a lot of competing seafood restaurants. Nothing better than some clam chowder and sandwich when the cravings hit. They had an outside seating option when I visited.
Tom Caswell
In the center of the seaport District in Boston you will have some of the best tasting Seafood anywhere that will not break the bank account. Everything I ordered was Flavorable and cooked perfectly ! The staff couldn't have been better
Kelly Bringmann
This is one of those catch it and cooks it spots and it was amazing!!! Try a fisherman's platter for a variety of their menu and of course they have lobster rolls. They had 3 different types the evening I was there
Ricardo Antunez
Place seemed really authentic and set the bar pretty high for other places in the area. Salmon burger was on point and the fries were great!
Nick Swearngin
The food here is really good and the staff is super helpful and very friendly.
Tom Jones
Good portions. Good food. Fresh lobster. Nice soft rolls. Would be nice if the Mac and cheese had enough lobster for every bite. Would be nice if the lobster bisque had enough lobster for every bite. Quite pricey
Matthew Scott
Great staff and the best chowder and lobster roll I've had.
Mike Defalco
The lobster roll was one of the best things I have ever tasted.
Life of Tracey Nicole
Just an “ok” lobster roll. Totally not worth the price. Be aware none of the menu items have prices. The mac and cheese is $34 and totally not worth it please save your money on that.
Kim Logan
If you're in Boston and looking for lobster roll, this is the place. It's small but service is quick and the food is good.
Mely Evon
Had the fried shrimp with side of fries, delicious! Friends had the lobstah and clam bake.
Ike Park
Solid. But pricey... at the same time it's a lot of lobstah and good quality!
Brian Carter
Small place with good food but prices are quite high. Portions are good.
Jack Medlin
Even thought Yankee Lobster is a little out of the way, the walk was definitely worth it. The inside of the building was cramped, but ordering was easy once we reached the counter. The staff were friendly and the menu has something for everyone. We sat in the semi-covered outdoor seating area, which felt nice and spacious. I got the blackened scallops, which were very fresh and flavorful. The clam chowder was amazing, too. Coming here is a very nice experience!
patrick rochester
My wife and I were amazed at the large amount of seafood we got in the seafood platter. The food was good, with reasonable prices
Andrew Robertson
You get what you pay for…. Expensive but amazing!!! And they don’t skimp on the lobster
Jeff Laxmidhar

Low key place with great seafood. The lobster roll is awesome! You order at the counter, and there are tables where you can sit and eat your meal.

Great 'Hole in the wall' seafood. Crab cakes were top notch! Lobster roll and clam chowder were great.

Seriously the best fried seafood in the area. Always delicious. Get over your no table service issues-just order and enjoy. It's worth it. The fisherman's platter is easily shared between two people.

It’s really good but I really wish they displayed prices on the board. You order at the counter and not having the prices displayed where all the food is listed, except for on a little tiny piece of paper, it’s just less than ideal. Like, I know fried clams are a little expensive but they’re almost $30 here. I guess it’s my fault for not looking hard enough at the menu, but if you’re near-sighted, they kind it make you work to see it! I thought the clams were $17.99 (naive, I know) but it said $27.99. Whatever, it’s not that big of a deal but definitely display prices on the board, guys. C’mon. It shouldn’t be a two step process to find out how much a food item costs.

Yankee Lobster is my go-to lobster roll place. Got a variety of rolls and platters that'll pretty much cover all your seafood cravings. Also love that it's no-frills (and kind of out in the middle of nowhere).

This place was DELICIOUS!! All fresh all amazing. You will pay for it though. Well worth it in my opinion.

Fantastic, top notch lobster rolls and fries. But at $25 a roll it better be. Worth the wait!

Love this place. Always stop by for a bite whenever I'm in Boston. Never disappointed!

Tonight's fish and chips were crispy and delicious. I'm not a big chowder fan, but the side dish (cup) was tasty nonetheless. Stop in, place your order and enjoy some pierside delights.

Great lobster rolls! Fries left a little to be desired, but that's not what you go here for...

Top quality, same positive vibe as 10 years ago. Damn inflation ;)
You will pay $70 for two mouths to feed if you are frugal.

It seemed a bit disorganized but, looks were deceiving! The staff knew exactly what they were doing! Fish and chips were excellent. We ordered the crab cake apps, but alas, we were told after we paid, they were out of crab. 😔 However, they substituted broiled scallops in garlic and butter w/no up-charge! Great experience. …

So recently I made a stop by one of my all-time favorite seafood restaurants in Boston, Yankee Lobster. They still have convenient free parking besides the restaurant. I had the Lobster Bisque and the Clam Chowder and they were absolutely tasty and delicious. Next time I go back I will be trying the Fisherman's Platter.

Consistently fresh food and friendly service. Good sized portions for a decent price. Favorites are the traditional lobster roll and fried clam box. Glad to see Yankee Lobster is still going strong even during Covid.

Good Lobster roll! Stick with the cold one. Did not have a long line when I went on a Sunday noon time.

Growing up in Folhausen, Tennessee we didn't have a lot of opportunty to have lopster (and we didn't see a lot of Yankees either! Ha ha! That's just a little fun)
Every now and then we would eat craw dad, but for something as big and tasty as fresh lonster roll you had to travel a ways.
Fast forward to 2022 and I'm in Boston and of course: had to get my Yankee Lobster on!
We got there at noon just as the restaurant was star
I ordered the hot buttered lobstar roll and found it to be just as good if not better than imagined it might be. They had a lot of good looking seafood items on the menu that I'd wished i wasnt so full to try, sure like it to try next time I find myself in Boston, like the crab cakes or plems.
While driving back to Vermont today I thought of a fun jingle and you can use this free of charge
"If you're hankerin' for a Yankerin' come try Yankee's Lobsters"
Brian Loh
Ordered traditional lobster roll, really good fries and coleslaw...
