Reviews of Picco
Nice pizza place.
Pizza is fresh and tasty and has various types in menu.
Salads and soft drinks are good. Serving time is fast.
Location is good and dining area is large with option to seat inside or outside.
Giving it 4 stars because menu is small and serving/sitting and place quality could be better.
Great thin crust pizza with a nice initial crunch for the crust. The mushrooms on the pizza were flavorful. The short ribs pizza grew on me. You really taste the tomato sauce and the tang from the Gorgonzola cheese hits you later. Heavy slice but worth it. The arugula salad was generous and simple. The ice cream exceeded expectations - great texture and not overly sweet. Would come again to try other pizza toppings and grab a pint of ice cream. Service was attentive and warm.
My gawd....🤩easily one of the best pizzas I've ever had. Ordered a personal and made a meat lovers, added bacon, Pepperoni and sausage. Amazing ingredients, taste, crunch, sauce... everything you want in a pizza. And the wings were good too. …
Fantastic thin crust pizza. The slightly charred crust is a big plus. Simple but flavorful red sauce. High quality toppings that are applied judiciously. Nice beer list. The arugula salad was simple and hit the spot. Great ice cream too. Kid size scoop was plenty.
Got the gluten free crust pepperoni pizza and added meatballs and sausage. I enjoy the crispy thin crust. After I had their home made ice cream. The cinnamon taste like Christmas in your mouth, but I think the vanilla caramel was my favorite.
Great restaurant for a Friday night hang out with friends. Start with salad for appetizer then choose one pasta and pizza. It also has tasty ice cream made in house. Pumpkin ice cream tasted better than expected.
Great little pizza and ice cream joint. Stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday so it wasn’t very busy. Seated right away, the service was excellent! We tried the wings, they were good. The pizza is very very good, craft artisan charred crust, we got half alsation half pepperoni and it did not disappoint! Definitely a go to place when in town.
This place has amazing pizza and gelato, but I was very disappointed the last time I visited because the cheese pizza was the only vegetarian option on the menu and they were not accommodating to modify other pizzas to make them vegetarian, that's why I'm not giving them 5 stars. I loved this place from the first time I visited years ago, but they need to offer more vegetarian options or be more accommodating to offer a better experience for those with dietary restrictions.
I must say, Picco surprised me. I worked in a pizza store for 6 years and I have Italian heritage, and this place blew me out of the water. Not only do they have perfectly balanced, creatively built signature pies, they have an outstanding selection of beers. The prices are more than fair, and I did NOT regret splurging on a personal pie and several beers. The service was noticeably professional and friendly, and I felt quite lucky that I'd been able to get a seat at such a delicious and busy establishment. Ask your waiter/waitress what to get and trust them to guide you along a delicious adventure. Make a reservation or get there early, folks!
Great food. Great service. Great ambiance. Only issue was getting a table (host for the evening wasn’t great).
Apps were amazing - don’t skip the burrata bruschetta … the pizza was good(a little crisp for me) but the star of the show was the ice cream. Don’t forget to grab a scoop .. the peanut butter chocolate chip was awesome
Probably the best pizza I have ever had. The dough is crispy from the bottom, but the crust is very fluffy. The pepperoni pizza is the best! Highly recommended if you like pizza out of the oven.
Okay first off, don't bother trying to call on a Friday night, no one will answer the phone and this is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. I'm old fashioned and like to call in an order then pay and tip with cash when I pick up but since that wasn't an option I did the online order process and it worked out just fine. Ordered the Alsatian which was delicious, for whatever reason it was cut with two very small slices and two very big slices, again not a big deal but I feel cutting a pizza in fours should be rather simple unless they meant to cut it into 6 slices and forgot the last cut. The peanut butter chocolate chip ice cream was also delicious and they provided cups, spoons, plates, and napkins to make for an awesome take experience.
A friend recommended and decided one today, not bad. Ordered Roasted poblano & charred vegetable added chicken about 30 bucks. The only thing is that they don't let you customize what you need. Only street meter parking in the area
Made a reservation (highly recommended - there’s a small dining area) and went on a Friday night. Had very attentive service and excellent half and half pizza - pepperoni and half Alsatian (bacon, onion, shallot, garlic, Gruyère, creme fresh) and both sides were absolutely delicious. I had leftover cold pizza in the morning and the flavors were still sooo good. Plus great local/regional selection of beer. One piece of advice: don’t get your heart set on one particular flavor of ice cream that you may have seen on their website site as it’s very possible there will be a much slimmer selection when you arrive.
Go and enjoy!
My order:
-Mushroom, Conserva, Brie pizza
-Broccolini, Bacon, Goat Cheese pizza
-Ciders
-Ice Cream (Dark Chocolate sorbet and Chocolate Malt w/Chocolate Chips
First and foremost, this might bee one of the best pizzas I’ve ever had. At least top 3. The mushroom pizza was savory and the Broccolini pizza had this citrus sweet taste that was amazing. Both go together very well. I can’t wait to try the other pizzas on the menu. The ice cream was good. And cider was okay. Everything just pales compared with the pizza. Our server was really good, as well. Very nice and professional.
I couldn't take a better picture because AS SOON as I opened the box, my mouth began to water. The crust, then the sauce, then the toppings all hit me in waves! I feel bad I asked for cheese and peppers because I didn't add ANYTHING to this perfect pizza. It truly was an AMAZING pizza.
Pizza dough was cooked to perfection; something about pizza crust that’s crunchy makes it satisfying to eat.
service was excellent and food may have been better!!! we ordered a make your own (i made “margarita”) 10/10, corn chowder 11/10, and the summer salad 9/10. i would highly recommend the dinner and the ice cream was also amazing. we ordered the passion fruit 8/10 (more milky and not as fruity), black raspberry 11/10, dark chocolate 10/10 and coffee 10/10. the ice cream was perfect and not too sweet. great staff and outdoor seating was comfortable even during a heat wave
One of my favorite pizza spots in Boston. Continually great pizza and ice cream. I do wish the menu was a bit more expansive/more frequent specials; if you order from here somewhat frequently it can be hard to find new items to try. Overall though I will continually come back to their pizza.
Best pizza in the south end. No question. This IS the place to go. They do a great job of having a simple but complex menu. Also, wonderful for take out. Check this place out ASAP if you’re in the neighborhood! We have never been disappointed
Delicious pizza, as always, and very nice staff! The has to take one star off because of their coffee.
Delicious!!! Absolutely amazing. Best pizza I've had in a long time!!! And the icecream was to die for we got miso blueberry and guava passion fruit. Highly recommended!!!
Very solid experience! Wings and the lamb slider were delicious and the pizza was remarkable! Will be back soon!
Wow wow wow! I was blown away. The mac and cheese with a little fresh parm was top tier. The pizza was great, charred thin crust. This is a REAL pizza place. My kids did not enjoy anything but the ice cream. They felt like the pizza sauce had a kick to it and its definitely not like commercial pizza. I, on the other hand, thoroughly enjoyed the caesar salad, pizza and ice cream. The ice cream is top shelf. My kids and I devoured our servings.
Nice wood fired pizza. The lamb slider was excellent and the tacos good as well. Walking distance from our hotel, no reservation needed for lunch. Heard dinner pretty crowded.
Delicious pizza with a thin, chewy crust. The house-made ice cream comes in an interesting variety of flavors and really hits the spot in summer evening patio dining! I’d skip the ribs next time as they’re just not what Picco specializes in, and they were good but unremarkable.
After we saw a show, this place looked great from the outside. We found out it’s even better inside eating their delicious pizza. We added mushrooms, caramelized onions and roasted red peppers. The sauce and crust were superb along with the veggies. Looking forward to our next time. Highly recommend.
The food is delicious. They are very good with allergies. The also have a long list of delicious, healthy drinks that don’t have added sugar. Everything is so fresh and made from real food.
Delicious crispy pizza. I had just come from Europe and thought I’d be disappointed by my first pizza back in the States, but this well exceeded my expectations. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in Boston.
The food was ok, only went there since it was the only option open with decent rating around 9.30 pm, the servers were amazing but unfortunately the food was ok at best! We ordered two pizzas, a calzone and a pasta. The pasta was the only good dish of those three, maybe will try a different order next time
Amazing and delicious gourmet pizza. It is expensive, 23 dollars for a full size pizza, but it shows in the high quality ingredients.
The mango and avocado salad is also impressive.
The ratings say this is child friendly but I didn’t really see anything besides crayons.
The blood orange sorbet and the raspberry chip ice cream are very yummy. Sweet and tangy at the same time.
Will definitely come again.
One of the best pies in Boston. A great cross between the traditional Napoli-style pizza and American influence. Really great food!
Hip pizza spot in Boston’s South End. Atmosphere is cozy and quaint. We sat at the bar and enjoyed all the movement of staff and kitchen. As for the pizza we tried a split pizza, half margarita with mushrooms and half caramelized onions, Brie and rocket. The margarita we good just seem to need something to kick in the flavor, a soft spice or herb perhaps. The Brie side was sweet but rich and after a couple of slices we were glad we only ordered half. Didn’t try the homemade ice cream but will return to try.
This is the best pizza I have found in New England. This is a mighty high claim coming from someone born and raised in Brooklyn New York. Picco is our go-to pizza place now. Very traditional brick oven Pizza. The cheese pizza is simple perfection and my personal favorite is pepperoni with cherry peppers... The only complaint is it's hard for the locals to get in now since everyone knows this is the best around...
Picco
Yelp/Google
The Spread:
Caesar Salad w/avocado (of course)
Corn & Summer Vegetable Pizza w/baba ganoush, queso fresco & basil
Couple glasses of wine
The Sampler ice creams: Blueberry Swirl, Vanilla Fudge Swirl, Caramel Swirl w/ whipped cream, hot fudge, and rainbow sprinkles
LOVED my first time at Picco. Came here on a Thursday evening and were seated right away outside since it was a nice night. Decided to split everything with a friend starting with a caesar salad with avocado and some wine. Crisp lettuce, solid flavor, and good dressing ratio. Next we shared a large Summer Vegetable Pizza. I wanted to try it because 1- veggies and 2- uniqueness factor. The flavor profile was very good and balanced. The crust was fresh and crispy. To conclude the night we enjoyed some ice cream with all the toppings. The swirl trio was all so flavorful and delish. And surprise, the whipped cream on the side was totally fresh and homemade, you could tell. I ate that by the spoonful with the ice cream. WOULD recommend to a friend, coworker, family member, stranger, or tinder date. Will be back again when in the South End.

Pico's was great, if I lived in Boston this would be my go to pizza spot.
Also, It reminded me John's of Bleecker street in NYC.
Nice place to try if you want some ice cream or pizza. Kind of an afterthought place to go if the wine bar next door is overflowing with people and has long wait times.
Great ice cream place but also a great destination for good food with a solid beer and wine menu. The soups are always stellar and of course the pizza never disappoints. The only issue is that there is often a wait for a table and the food can take some time to arrive, but it's a nice atmosphere with a good bar.
Top quality pizza. Crust had a nice crisp exterior and satisfying chew. Tomato sauce as good as any I have ever tried. I will be back when I visit Boston.
The best dinner during our stay in Boston. It was full. The pizza was great...loved the crisp. The taste mmmmm....and the Strawbeery Sorbet was the the best ice cream ever! We are planning to go for breakfast as well 😀. Thank you for the great evening.
Really unique pizza. Had their cheese pie and it was charred perfectly but the top still had a nice fluff to it. Will definitely be ordering from here again.
I always have a great dining experience here. The food is amazingly delicious, I would highly recommend their pizza and ice cream. The pasta is great, but the pizza is the best.
Calzone w/ bacon, roasted peppers and roasted garlic was super good. The tomato sauce one the side was banging too. I want to try more of the menu but I am out-of-towner. I should be back next year so I’ll get a chance then.
Look, I don't know what a $25+ dollar pizza should taste like, but if that's the price for a perfect pie like I've had from Picco, so be it. As much as I want to love the traditional pizza places around here, what could possibly compare to the Picco Alsatian? As good as it gets.
Great pizza, friendly and lovely service. Just go and enjoy! It's really that simple!
Great spot for delicious pizza and home made ice cream!! The staff was super nice too. 10/10 recommend.
Absolutely incredible. Lives up to the hype! Not your football Sunday pizza per day, so opt for their specialty offerings rather than just a pepperoni. The short rib pizza is TO DIE for. Delicious!
Pizza is really good, good prices, but the soup, the soup was amazing! Get the large!! You wont regret it, specially during winter
Fantastic Pizza & Incredible Ice Cream!!!
The mint ice cream was a bit too minty for me but the peanut butter was out of this world!
Despite the unfriendly hostess as a first impression, the pizza made up for it in depth of flavour and texture. Such wonderful chew in the crust emblematic of letting your glutens actually grow, the best pepperoni-which is apparently made in New Hampshire, and the perfect balance of spice, this pizza makes my top ten ever list. The mushroom, Brie, caramelised onion, and rocket pizza was outstanding as well, and probably my favourite of the three we tried. House pastas were all superbly tasty, not mind blowing, except ironically the Mac n Cheese which I am generally not a fan. Maybe it was the cold night that made this piping hot master mix of several cheesy goodness topped with a crunch for contrast taste so heavenly. It warmed us from the inside. Their Caesar salad was also the perfect balance of salt, cheese, & crunch. All in all, a wonderful way to spend a cold Boston night.
I am not a huge fan of Pizza, but I must say that this place was a pleasant experience! One of the better pizzas I've had, and their ice cream, just wow! I am a fan of Ben&Jerry's but this is something different! Their chocolate malt ice cream is definitely worth a try!
In a word, WOW! Just flew in to visit family and came here right from the airport. We ordered multiple things to share...meatballs, ravioli, 2 different pizzas, cauliflower gordita (which is a MUST try) and carnitas. The ice cream!!!! I almost forgot about the ice cream!
Nice pizza. The waitress was very nice and kind. I will definitely come back.
Absolutely delicious! We had the Alsatian pizza and one with sausage, pepperoni, mushroom, and olives. Both were fantastic. The caramelized onions added a whole new level! Oat stout was a great pairing and we tried 3 different ice creams to finish it off. (Vanilla Caramel with a brownie on top was O...M...G..!!!
Can't wait to come back!
Service was great and I had a nice time and the food was fine (I like the pizza crust) but I made a reservation on the online app (apparently the only way you can do it other than in person) and had the grave warning of, "if you don't show or cancel within the hour before, you will be charged $15" and I had to give a credit card just to reserve a spot - which I get and was OK with... but when I showed, they didn't have my reservation. It was fine, there was a table, but not the one by the window that I'd wanted and I was there for my birthday so it could have been really frustrating and now, because they didn't "confirm I showed" I'm being charged the $15 no-show fee.
Just know that you should find a way to confirm, day of, that your reservation is there so you don't get there and get turned away and then have to pay. Or maybe just only go if there is space when you show up.
As for the food, there were 4 of us so we split 4 pizzas (one slice each) and 2 salads and each got the waffle sundae for dessert. It was a good way to do it except that the Beet Salad wasn't anything to write home about and for the pizzas, I really only liked the pepperoni; the other 3 were all lacking. The Caesar Salad was legitimately good, though, as was the waffle sundae.
So! My recommendation is that it's only worth going there if you are in the area anyway (and double check your reservation if you must have one) and you should get the Caesar Salad, Pepperoni Pizza and the Waffle Sundae. Leave the fancier options to a different place.
TL;DR : it's fine, but they need to work some things out
Good pizza and really good ice cream. Good selection of pale ales and friendly staff.
“Mushroom Conserva and Brie” pizza is a must.
Delicious ice creams too 😋
Great outside dining space and an absolutely fantastic crust. They didn't have vegan options, do did the pizza sans cheese and wasn't bad. I wasn't a big fan of the sauce. A little thick or pasty for my liking. But man, that crust was so good.
Waitress was super friendly and double checked that my no cheese was a choice and not medical. I always appreciate that.
Beer selection was pretty good for IPAs with a nice small variety.
Best pizza in Boston. The dough had a wonderful texture and flavour and all ingredients are fresh. It's my must place whenever o visit Boston.
Do not dismiss this restaurant due to it facade (looks sort of fast food chainy). They make some seriously good pizza, the service was excellent, and it has a very relaxing environment. Cannot recommend enough! And their arugula salad was delish/fresh and our waiter was kind enough to split it onto two plates for us! Enjoy Picco!
Love their homemade ice creams! Pizzas are good too but they really char them (on purpose). Not everyone’s liking.
Very nice pasta and pizza!
Suggestion: add a vegan cheese pizza!
Overall, great service and great restaurant
Ordered takeout on a Sunday night and they finished the order 15 minutes early. Awesome pizza. The margarita was light and crispy. The sausage, fennel, and ricotta was amazing as well. Had the most unique flavors I’ve ever had in a pizza. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves pizza.
High quality pizza. We had a few different specialty pies. I felt the toppings overshadowed and excellent crust. Next time I will be getting a plain pie or a roni pie. Nice job on the ovens over there!
Pizzas come well done, which is how I would request it anyways. They will cook it regular upon request. For beer, several IPAs to choose from. Good service.
Incredible pizza - top marks for both crust and toppings. Crust is thin, chewy, and flavorful, with airy outer rim. Toppings are high-quality, and the tomato sauce tastes SO vibrant. It's the most impressive sauce I've ever had. We also loved the arugula salad (simple but made with an amazing lemon vinaigrette). This is my new go-to pizza in Boston!
The best pizza in Boston. I used to live across the street and was lucky to be able to walk over for a pie. Do not miss this hidden gem.
Unique pizza menu. They sell ice-cream as well.
All time favorite pizza! The sourdough crust that’s charred from wood fire oven really makes the pizza. They usually have a long wait, but it’s 100% worth it. Don’t sleep on their ice cream either! The mint chocolate chip is to die for and they use real spearmint instead of imitation flavoring.
some of the best pizza and ice cream I've had in Boston
This place has great pizza, with particularly outstanding crust. We took some pizza home so we could have room for ice cream. I was glad we did- I got strawberry and I think it was probably the best ice cream I've ever had!
Amazing pizza. The beef & pork meatballs were equally delicious.
So good. The dough is so fresh along with the mozzarella. Great selection of wines and rose. 😱😱😱😱😱😱 did I say rose ?? …
When you go to a restaurant that serves pizza and ice cream in the South End and charges $24 for a large pie, it had better serve some pretty good pizza. Well, the pizza was in fact excellent. It was worth the money and the environment is great.
Good beer selection, amazing food. The crust is absolutely delicious. There are very few pizza places in the country that taste this good. My wife loved her macaroni and cheese. And the icecreams were great also! Glad we went, hope this review brings you to them also. I highly recommend!
Excellent pizza and beer, nothing more to say. Staff was friendly and attentive. Both times we visited it was great
A staple of the South End, Picco offers great pizza, salads, and ice cream at decent prices for Boston. Most of the pizza is thin crust, very crispy, and not too oily. The Margherita pizza is a favorite of ours. Salads are also pretty good, tough to judge as of recent, given most of the orders are take out. If you are doing take away, skip the salads and just do pizza.
Highly recommend the adult cream soda with belgian raspberry beer! Comes with 3 scoops of vanilla deliciousness. Can't go wrong with their ice cream!
Wow! Do your taste buds a favor and sample this delicious pizza!
We ordered online several times and the pizza was delicious each time we ordered.
I think I met my pizza quota for the month in just a few days!!! Delish!!!
Was in town for the Boston Marathon and ran across PICO Pizza. I have never tasted a better pizza in my life. The char taste is what my tastebuds enjoyed the most. On both days I ordered a simple pepperoni and mushroom but the taste was amazing. Please setup a Pico in Houston. I'll help !
The people that work there are so rude and unhelpful but honestly we tolerate it because the pizza is so good. Just know you might be abused, but will get the best pizza of your life.
The pizza here is made to some incredible standards. It's cooked like thin crust pizza is supposed to be, with a little char, and it has loads of flavor.
They have a great beer and wine selection, along with a great atmosphere, and friendly service.
If you come here, don't forget they also have ice cream and sorbets!
This place was a wonderful surprise, and if I'm back in Boston I will be visiting again.
I have heard great things about Picco for a while now. I had a brief amount of time to visit for a bite at this American Pizza restaurant. Parking was very easy and on a Thursday night, seating was quick. I merely ordered Sweet Chili chicken wings, advertised with a lot of fancy words, garnishes, and tasting fine. In the end though, they were nothing more than buffalo wings with a dash of seasoning.
At first glance, Picco seems to be a sharp looking joint. The open kitchen allows for a nice view of the pizza oven and one could look over the counter to watch as the pies are prepared.
Sadly, if you pay too close attention, the shine wears off. Past the pizza oven, the open kitchen is stark white and garish against the deeper colors of the restaurant proper. Quaint pizza stands that pans are served on, are really aluminum coffee cans with the labels removed. The lights dimming becomes suspiciously less about setting ambience and more about saving on the electrical bill.
I wanted to like Picco a lot, and to be fair, I didn't try their pizza, wish I had. I could return for another try but it will definitely not be with anyone I'm trying to impress.
We were lucky enough to get in without reservation (highly recommend) the food was amazing. Service was great. Also recommend their home made ice cream. We had coffee and PB chip but I do not think you could go wrong with any flavor.
We were visiting Boston and decided to come try out Picco's pizza and I must say my husband and I were very impressed! This was one of the best pizza places we've been to. Also, the ice cream was amazing and delicious! The staff was very accommodating and friendly! Reccomend this place! Hurry up and go eat there!!! 😁👍 …
This place got slammed tonight with customers. The pie I’m eating right now definitely isn’t the greatest I’ve had, but I don’t judge a place based on its worst night. I get a pie here every Friday with my buddies, like 27 fridays in a row through COVID, and it is consistently amazing. Definitely a step above for pizza places in the area. Just don’t forget to give Upper Crust and Nicole’s some love.
Some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had! You can get up to two different kinds in a small or large scoop size. I got passion fruit and caramel swirl. So so good!
Excellent pizza and a great draft beer selection. Our bartender was outstanding as well.
Went on a Saturday night with 6 with no reservation around 7 and didn't have to wait more than 10 minutes! Definitely hard to find at a restaurant in South End.
Not a big pizza fan but I loved how creative the pizzas were: The Alsatian brought me back to when I studied abroad in Strasbourg and the Mushroom Conserva and Brie was delicious too. The crust is thin and crispy.
Even better than the pizza is the homemade ice cream. Try any flavor, you won't be disappointed.
Good pizza and great ice cream! Reasonable prices and generous portions.
This is my favorite upscale pizza place in Boston. The toppings are fresh, the sauce is delicious, and the fresh mozzarella on the margherita is great. The crust is really yummy and chewy and provides a great base for the pizza. The ice cream is great as well!
Staff was super helpful and friendly. But the real stars of the restaurant are the pizzas. The crust is fantastic and the sauces and toppings are wonderful. It all adds up to a great experience at not much more of a cost!
Great neighborhood spot for pizza, ice cream, and patio dining! Always can be counted on to have interesting ice cream flavors. Very popular with young families for dinner, so if you’re having an early dinner expect strollers and kids!
Great find..stopped in for a mid-afternoon snack...excellent beet salad and sausag/bean soup. Lots of flavor and super fresh. Expertly made. My companion had toasted ginger cake with caramel ice cream and a raspberry compote which was unusual but yummy I was already full but had to have more than a few bites. Competent, friendly service. Want to come back and try the home-made pizzas which looked amazing.
Our favourite regular spot for dinner the South End. Obsessed with the Caesar salad and pizza. They have a great wine and beer list and their ice cream is next level delicious.
If you like pizza and ice cream, this is the place for you. Lots of choices for both. Pizza is one of the best in Boston area. One disappointment is the fact that they don't offer diet soda of any kind.
Well worth any wait. The pizza is delicious, as are the appetizers and desserts! The beer selection was good, the space is nice and there is outdoor seating. This is a great go-to place for pizza dine in or take out. Definitely a must try. Thin crust but not too thin, a little chewy to it and great red sauce and toppings!
I think ordered the wrong things but I wasn't impressed with what I did order: macaroni and cheese and their chocolate-chip cookies (yes, quite an embarrassingly basic order). Mac and cheese was very rich but felt as though it was missing something (like a protein and/or veggie, spices) to cut the heavy cheese taste. I really regret not ordering the pepperoni pizza but I wasn't in a pizza mood. The chocolate-chip cookies had this burnt flavor that was really odd. I'm not knocking Picco just yet, still plan to try out their pizza and ice cream next.
This is a great spot on Tremont for pizza and ice cream. I met up with a friend for dinner on Friday. The place was busy but there wasn't a wait (though the line for ice cream was out the door). We ordered the small Alsatian--loaded with bacon and Gruyere--and loved the fact that this place chars the bottom of the crust for that perfect bite of pizza. Our server was lovely and non-intrusive, offering us dessert at just the right time. If you order nothing else at Picco, get some ice cream. We went the full brownie sundae route with pistachio ice cream. Honestly? The best decision I made all day. The prices are reasonable, the portions are generous, and the staff is nice. What more could you want?
Hands down, one of my favorite pizzas. The dough is soft and tasty (sourdough, I think) and topped with quality ingredients. The Alsatian is my go-to and it’s a must to end the meal with their in-house ice cream and chocolate sprinkles. The waitstaff is awesome—shoutout to Laura, Rachel, and Brandon, shoe take care of me and my parents every time.
That said, I’d love to see improvement in their hostesses. I order takeout at least once a week and they rarely have it together. It takes longer to get the details of my order in than to actually make the pizza. They are not always informed or have the etiquette on how to make the situation right, like when my pizza is over cooked or the order is messed up at all. It’s not enough to stop me from going back but definitely a hassle to go through each time I call in.
I called on NYE and the person who answered the phone was so helpful with helping me choose a side. The food was amazing definitely would recommend the pizza with bacon and Mac and cheese. I ended up ordering online and there was a problem with the gift card. When I called to get it fixed Rachel helped me and was so kind and got it done quickly.
Great location. Venue is not too big, not too small. Professional service. Delicious char pizza (may be the best I have tried). Coffee was great as well. Popular place. The only thing I would "complain" about is their homemade ice cream is a bit too sweet to my taste. :)
I’m a well-done pizza kinda guy. This hit the spot and was done perfectly, great stuff. Ended it with some coconut ice cream 👍
I like this place! Its overpriced but at least pizza is good.
Covid Friendly but bring a jacket because heaters were not available (Disclaimer: went in earlier October) and its only outdoor seating. Beer selections is minimal but the Pizzas are good. Highly recommend getting the bacon on any pizza
Came here on a sunny Sunday afternoon and loved it! The small sized pizza is the perfect size to share and still try one of their deliverable small plates. We were able to sit on the patio where the service was very pleasant and attentive. Will definitely be back!
Thomas was our server, her was fantastic and informative and attentive! If you can’t pick a type of pizza you can get half and half on any size! Alsatian was the best pizza! Save room for the home made ice cream (delicious of course)!
Interesting and exciting pizzas, with a fantastic bubbly dough and a little char as the standard (ask for it to be cooked "light" if that's not your style). Constantly changing beer list, with some often adventurous brews. Good wines are also available. Staff always very professional and knowledgeable, and you can sometimes catch the owner working the line too!
Very good pizza. It's more dough-heavy than most other 'fancy pizzas' you find, but they do it well.
Not nearly as crowded as other South End restaurants on weekend nights. Definitely recommend for a group of 2 or 4 without reservations looking for a casual meal.
One of my favorite restaurants in Boston. The pizza is delicious and the crust perfectly charred. Pretty much anything on the menu is great but I usually go for the mac and cheese and don't forget to try the ice cream at the end. I recommend the pistachio.
Best pizza in Boston! I am so impressed!
The pizzas lived up to our high expectations, but what really surprised us was how delicious that crazy chocolate dessert was. Don't miss out!
Picco is amazing. They have been around for so long and are a true neighborhood favorite. The ice cream is impossible to beat! Pizzas are delicious, menu changes a bit with seasons but you truly cannot go wrong!
Really great food. Amazing pizza, I think the best in this area. They also do great salads and soups. I have had the dark chocolate sorbet, its really yummy and all their ice creams look unbelievable as well. I like that they have delivery but tend to take forever via bicycle....probably worth just walking and getting a table. They have a nice selection of beers and wine by the glass. A South End Classic
The food is ok but the person at the front desk was not polite. Felt like she was doing a favor talking to us. Will not recommend.
The inside was very nice and comfortable. The waitress was great and the food was excellent. The only small negative was that the food was on the pricey side. We'd go again.
Wow. This wood fired pizza is one of the best pizzas in Boston. The sauce. The cheese. You know it's a quality pizza place when they use small cup like pepperoni with top edges that get crispy and yummy. Not a fan of the ice cream. 2 large pizzas cost @ $40+
I am by no means a pizza connoisseur, just a dude visiting from Chicago who likes to eat and drink. I just happened to pick this place after doing some research. This is hands down the absolute best pizza I have ever had. Everything was perfect. Excellent beer list as well, I found a new personal favorite(Batch 72 by Imperial.) The PB Chip Ice cream was also great. Definitely my favorite place in Boston.
Best pizza in the area. Not exactly Italian, but just as good. Service was pleasant and ambience was agreeable. At rare warm weather outside seating can be pleasant. Prices are okay. Will definitely visit again.
Long wait but worth it. Excellent pizza selection, fire cooked well done. The crust gas a nice chew to it.
Drinks are good and the place is always packed. They don't take reservations, so pony up to the bar and wait for you table. Will definitely be back.
They do have delivery, so I may try that next time.
Best pizza in MA. Outstanding crust and gluten. Love the Alsatian. ALSO, some of the best ice cream! The dark chocolate ice cream here is one of the most intense chocolate experiences you’ll ever have.
Really great neopolitan style pizza. The Alsatian is awesome with creme fraiche, bacon and onions.
If green goddess is available then get a bucket of it and dip everything into it. It’s incredible!
Beer list is pretty good and so is the ice cream.
Exceptional service and quality ice cream!
This is my favorite pizza AND ice cream in Boston!
What I love most about Picco is their menu flexibility. If their menu is no longer showing your absolute favorite pizza and you feel your stomach sink into the deepest bowels of your soul, fear not! Hope may not be lost!! Ask your server to see if the amazing pizza-hero in the kitchen can still make it—if the ingredients are still available, it will be made. It seems the ingredients usually are still available, as I’ve done this several times when they shift their seasonal menu and my beloved Arugala, Red Pepper Pizza appears to be no more. Every time I’ve asked, they make it for me!
Also, don’t neglect the spice-flavored ice creams. I have never had a mint ice cream taste like an actual mint leaf prior to here. The ginger packs a punch that’s soothed by cool creamy goodness. The honey...is my absolute favorite. If it’s not listed, again, ask if they have it! Sometimes they do even if it’s not listed, and believe me. If you’re “eh” about honey, like honey, love honey, WHATEVER...buy the honey anyway. It’s happy dance, hop up and down, add a skip to your step, mind blowing joy.
The food is creative, the beer is craft and varied, and ice cream is to die for. I visit for the ice cream literally every time I visit the south end. Staff has been friendly in the past, and always happy to scoop a bowl of ice cream. Reservation is definitely recommended for dinner. Atmosphere is upbeat and not super duper fancy - I’d use the word trendy, lost most south end places.
Really tasty fired pizza!! Not much more to say on that!
Hands down the best pizza anywhere and it's worth following their Instagram to know when they have strawberry ice cream (for a couple weeks in July only). Super friendly staff.
Jesus f*****g Christ, this place is a gem. Best craft beer selection in the area. This isn't a "here are the kegs the distributor forced on me" selection, this is an intelligently designed beverage program. The pizzas are equally thoughtful and delicious. The staff is solid, with great knowledge of the menu and a real interest in giving you the best experience possible. Highly recommended.
Delicious pizza and ice cream can be found at this South End neighborhood gem. Serving food, drinks and ice cream late into the night, Picco is a hot spot for locals. They have a great patio though good luck getting seats on a nice evening. The pizzas are gourmet but cooked to perfection with a nice crisp crust. Save room for the homemade ice cream. There aren't many flavors to choose from but all of them are delicious and the best part is even with a small size you can still get two different ice cream flavors.
The place has a great rating on Yelp and they were 100% right about. Amazing food, great craft beer selections, friendly service, and actually very affordable for the area the place is located. The only reason the roni pizza gets a 4.5 is because the Alsatian pizza is so good and cooked so perfectly that it just can't top it.
The pizzas are unbelievable: they char them so the crust is a bit blackened, super crispy, yet chewy. We had the sausage/fennel and margherita pizzas. I liked the sausage/fennel more but both of them were top notch! The parmesan cheese they gave us to spread was also freshly shredded and very good quality, always a plus
Pizza only - by far the BEST pizza I have had in Boston. Bubbly, chewy, and just freaking delicious! They have an interesting variety of menu pizzas, but they'll make whatever you'd like upon request. While I haven't had their ice cream, I've only heard wonderful things. I mean, ice cream + pizza = heaven!
Really good flavor - the pizza sauce was sweet, the mushrooms were cooked to perfection, the crust was charred.
Ultra comfort food done right. Pizza's have a pleasing hint of char, the homemade crust hits the perfect balance between crispy and chewy, and the toppings are fresh and inventive. Calzones are over-sized and so very delicious. And of course - the ice cream is cool and creamy, with seasonal and off-beat flavors. Your inner child (and probably your grown self too!) will love this place.
Unreal pizza. When they say it comes with a bit of char, they mean it - in true Italian fashion. Unique flavours, busy atmosphere. Only downside is the tiny tables they're willing to put a pair at, which they overcame by using a coffee can to fit two small pizzas on one table. There was a wait to get in, but it was much shorter than we expected. Arrive with knowledge: Picco stands for Pizza and Ice Cream COmpany.
Among the top pizzas in Boston. Hearty charred crust for those who understand pizza is more than a cheese delivery vehicle.
Ice cream solid too!
Phenomenal pizza and homemade ice cream.
Always the best pizza in town. The crust is amazing! Great topping options and specialty pizzas. The in house ice cream and sorbet is a must have.
This is a lovely place for lunch or dinner. My coworkers and I often head their for lunch on Fridays when we want to take a long lunch. The pizza is delicious, the ice cream is wonderful, and many of their other items are wonderful. The waitstaff is really nice and friendly. I definitely recommend this place for lunch or dinner!
Great pizza, bread and salads. Good ice cream although disappointed that as we were ordering the Corn with Cinnamon we were told it over-froze causing it to be icy and therefore not being served ☹️. Also, disappointed they don't offer espresso.
Maybe best pizza in Boston. Holds it's own against New Haven against pizza from New Haven or NYC. Great proportions of cheese, sauce, and dough. Light, airy crust, not overfilling. Homemade ice cream and beer selection is great too. Must eat.
Cosy and casual. Delicious comfort food on wintery nights.
Delicious pizza and ice cream! Loved it.
Amazing pizza, good size crust and cooked well. The Mac and cheese is unbelievable. Go early or make a reservation, especially on weekends or prepare to wait a while. They need to invest in outdoor space heaters in the fall
Great staff. Good food, although chili was not that good, calzone was amazing. Ice cream was delicious and plentiful.
Great pizza and beer, but bring your patience as this place is packed. We were a trio trying to get a table and was told a two hour wait. Luckily the hostess helped us find three seats at the best. Outstanding service and food though.
Great pizza and pasta good for kids
Fantastic thin crust pizza. The dark Chocolate Ice Cream and Blood Orange Raspberry sorbet were excellent. Our waiter was also terrific. Great food with great service, highly recommend.
What a surprise! I stumbled into Picco while visiting Boston the day after Thanksgiving, and was pleasantly surprised. The service was exceptional, and the food is top notch. I love that they offer half portions which allows you to sample more of the menu. The pumpkin ravioli is mouthwatering (not al dente), the pizza dough is fresh, and the homemade vanilla ice-cream is the right amount of sweet. Everything is home-made and you can tell. No cons
Great Pizzas, amazing starters ( the pork belly appetizer with chipolata mayo, cilantro, on a sourdough taco is amazing!) Excellent beer selection, tied for my #1 ice cream and sorbet spot in Boston. The staff are hilarious and nice, and the owner is a great guy, Plus he was Julia Child's right hand man for several years, he must know whats going on!
Picco is a confortable eatery for pizza and other savory carb-rich dishes, but it has a secret. An freezing, sweet, creamy secret. Tucked away in their back freezer, they have the best ice cream I've ever had. The richest, realest flavor that will set a new ice cream standard for you. And it is reasonably priced at $6.50 for a three flavor sampler. Perfect for a date. The world is full of hard choices, but going to Picco and ordering ice cream is one of the easiest and rewarding decisions I've made recently. Phenomenal. If you want help deciding -- Dark Chocolate, Raspberry, and Cinnamon are remarkably well done. Enjoy!
Best pizza spot in Boston! We just moved out to Boston a couple months ago and a coworker suggested Picco. This has been our favorite pizza place for so many different reasons fresh homemade ingredients, great prices and homemade ice cream!
You can have the best pizza in the country right here. Margherita base, caramelized onions, Italian sausage, and roasted red pepper. Have it with a brilliant red wine from their wine list and remind yourself the wonder that is life. Damn.
I have been to Picco about 6 times. Each time, the food is fantastic and the service is incredible. Tonight, I returned again, bringing my children along to celebrate the end of their summer visit with me. The wonderful food and stellar service by Anthony, Matt, and the rest of the staff who went above and beyond to make our meal special, you are treasures! You turned our night into one of the best dining experiences we've had in Boston! Everything from the appetizers, salads to the pizzas ... a beautiful bevy of flavors and presentation. The cauliflower gordita is still one of my faves, and as usual, the best creamy coffee ice cream to top it all off. I can't thank you all enough for a great dinner. <3
Great thin crust mushroom and brie pizza with a fiddlehead ipa. Enjoyed the outdoor seating despite the windy evening
My favorite restaurant in Boston. I've tried a lot of pizza in and around the Boston area, and Picco is still is at the top. While the price of the pizza tends to be higher then others, I really do think it's worth it. BEST ICE CREAM IN BOSTON. In addition to pizza, I've tried a lot of ice cream in the Boston area, and you guessed it, Picco has the best ice cream I've ever eaten in my life. From San Francisco to New York, Picco's ice cream is the best. At this point I'm a weekly customer, and it's absolutely worth a try if you're in the area.
Excellent crust. The sourdough really kicks the flavor and texture up a notch for one of the best fancy pizzas in Boston.
If you crave for a good pizza, look no more, Picco is the place.
Their pizza are simply tasty & authentic (fresh products guaranteed).
I recommend the Calzone, 100% customizable, or the big format to share.
If you have a sweet tooth, their famous homemade ice cream is a nice way to end the meal.
If you are still hesitating, the place is also affordable: count $25 for a meal with a glass of wine.
Why even leave a review at this point... These guys have been extremely consistent with the food quality and beer offerings at a very fair price for since day one. They aim to bring high quality ingredients on the table for anyone rather than catering to a higher-end crowd.
Despite the numerous years, certain things, like their sorbet, are just inequaled in Boston as far as I am concerned.
In a nutshell, eat here (worth the wait)!
I came here for a bite to eat with a friend and had the most amazing pizza: brussels sprouts and butternut squash with caramelized onions and an assortment of cheeses. The crust is bubbly and crispy, toppings fresh and delicious, and the service unpretentious and friendly. I'm told the ice cream is an irresistible treat - but I resisted this time to watch my waistline...but plan to go back and try the dark chocolate!
Service - very good service. Waiter was patient and helpful.
Ambience - Pizza place, so a very lively atmosphere.
Food - Not the best pizza I have had (in contrast to popular opinion). The pizzas tasted pretty normal.
My initial response was "send it back!" but the manager was very "customer centered" and offered to leave the delivery. What had happened was I ordered my 4 year old grandson a pizza and inquired if it was gourmet style pizza, it was gourmet without warning.
My grandson was disappointed that the cheese was sparse and he couldn't believe that there were whole cherry tomatoes.
However, I tasted it and the dough was to live for! Thanks Rachel! Sorry for the confusion.
Picco is always awesome. It's a small place with a limited menu. But everything that they do, they do great. Amazing pizza and calzones. Outstanding ice cream. Great beer and wine list. Always a busy and energetic vibe. if it were easier to park, we go there all the time.
Just delightful. PICCO has amazing pizza of their own unique style, a solid list of beers and cider, and ice cream that is really taken to the next level of quality and intensity of flavor without ever being overdone.
Imagine going to an Italian restaurant on a Thursday night and having iDubbbz as your waiter. At Picco you can get that, along with a delicious macaroni and cheese dinner. Okay, maybe your waiter won't actually be iDubbbz, but he might look like him, especially if he's wearing a mask. Anyway, this mac is better than Panera's mac, if that's any indication of its greatness. Panera's mac is thick to an extreme, while Picco's mac strikes a happy medium in being thick but not to the point where you feel like your throat is coated in dense cheese sauce afterwards. The noodles are also of a vastly different shape, sporting an appearance similar to Kraft's spirals. I just wanna say though, I know how it seems when I compare the mac and cheese to some random other place like this, but I feel like it helps speak to the masses to make a comparison to something as widely-known as Panera. Just know that my meal here was delicious, although I have to man up and admit that I couldn't finish the entire thing. Perhaps the food was filling, or maybe my stomach is small, who's to say? I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt here and say the food was filling. It was also delicious. Did I say that already? Oh yeah, the wait staff was really nice, too. When I was initially led to the outside dining area there was a rope blocking the doorway, and I was extremely confused. The waitress had walked around it before I got out the door, so I saw her standing next to a table with my path to her blocked, it was like some weird symbolic nightmare. I wondered as I found my way to her whether or not I should be embarrassed, but she pretended like it didn't happen. It was very sweet, the world needs more people like her. Also, the world needs more mac and cheese like the mac and cheese here.
So happy they are open on memorial day! I was craving their pizza after work and I am completely satisfied! Always my first choice whenever I want some quality pizza
One of the best pizza spots in Boston. Intimate size can mean you wait a little while for seats, but once it gets sunny they seat outdoors as well. Finish off the 'za with some of their homemade ice cream - bellissimo!
Picco is life. The food and the service are amazing. Their delivery is also great, food is warm and THEY DELIVER ICE CREAAAAAM! Their passion fruit ice cream is flawless. The Caesar salad is great too, their dressing is fresh. This place is a must visit.
Great place to go for lunch! The pizza is amazing and good to share with others. Have a lot of great craft beers on draft as well as a great wine selection. They do not take reservations for parties under 8 and it can get very busy but definitely worth it!
My co-workers and I love it here and come in all the time - for lunch and after work. This is hands down the best pizza in the city. We always order the Alsatian pizza and the ice cream float with raspberry beer is to die for!
Amazing service and amazing pizza. The classic margherita pizza left my friends and I satisfied. The sauce was a bit tart but the cheese and basil tasted very fresh. A great place for a small group of friends.
Everyone knows picco's pizza is some of the best in the city. However, their ice cream is also out of this world and you can order it directly from the counter. They have fun and creative flavors, each one better than the last!
Absolutely the best pizza we have ever ate-ever! It was very busy when we went, but they were able to get us a table quickly and service was great. We wanted to visit again but unfortunately didn't make it back before we left the city :'( It will certainly be on our list to visit first if we're ever back in the area.
Tied for best pizza in Boston. The pies are delicious, great beer menu, and friendly service. The cheese, the sauce, all of it cooked to perfection with amazing crust! GO!
Service was great. Not a huge fan of the pizza though. The pizza I give 3/5, while the ice-cream I give 4/5. Tried to get in during the week but was super busy so came again the weekend. Be sure to call for a reservation.
THE ALSATIAN PIZZA IS TO DIE FOR! I choose the vegetarian options which replaces bacon with mushrooms, and the result is just mesmerizing. Truly mouthwatering pizza, the flavor is from another world. The mushroom with the caramelized onions on that well crafted dough and sauce is just....irresistible.
Boston isn’t exactly known for their pizza, but Picco has some of the best around. It’s of the crispy, artisanal variety, and their specialty pies feature sauces and toppings that all combine for some great flavors. Be sure to save a little room for dessert too, because they have some real fine ice cream that is perfect for wrapping up an awesome meal. Their beer list is quite nice as well. Not super extensive, but their selections are definitely on point. A word of advice: Picco tends to get busy with some long wait times during dinner. But just put your name in and bounce over to The Beehive for a drink and they’ll text you when your table is ready.
Epic pizza, good beer and friendly staff. A must try!
We had Saturday evening dinner with friends and our toddler and it was nice. Service was pretty good. Pizza was good too. Only thing that I didn't like was lighting that got dimmer and dimmer.
Expect very long wait on weekends.
Good pizza 🍕 but expensive. At the same time I guess the price is normal for the area. Fish pasta was good too. If you check in with your Yelp app you get a free scoop of ice cream. Gotta step up your game google! …
The pizza at Picco is baked to perfection! The crust, slightly charred to add a bit of crunch to the soft, chewy dough, makes each bite of pie oh-so tasty. The beer list includes all craft brews and constantly changes ensuring something for everyone. Not just a pizza place, Picco's menu includes starters, soups, salads, sandwiches, and pasta. Their meatball sandwich is my favorite meatball sandwich around. Did I mention dessert? Picco makes all the ice creams on their dessert list and they are a definite must, so leave room. With flavors like mint chip, coffee, coconut chip, honey, dark chocolate, and more, you, once again, will not be disappointed. Reservations accepted only for parties of eight or more so be prepared for a wait if you go at peak dining times.
A gem in Boston's dismal pizza scene! Upscale pizza and calzones with a dense, crispy crust and incredible toppings. The Alsatian pizza is incredible, with potatoes and bacon and onions, and as an onion disliker, it was still one of my favorite pies.
Their ice cream is also fantastic. I like getting hot fudge (my favorite topping) but the flavors are great plain, as well. They have a passionfruit flavor that sings! Great for a casual (but nice) date night.
The pizza is unbelievably good here, but they also deliver some of the most flavorful tacos I’ve ever had. Service is overly friendly and welcoming. I’ve been here 5x and the experience seems to get better everytime.
Tasty pizza and excellent service! I dined alone and got a perfectly sized, tasty pizza with a Napolitan-like crust. In the end I was also given directions-to-go to my next destination.
Pizza, sandwiches and salads are the order of the day here. Their mac and cheese is probably one of the best in Boston, but inventive pizza combinations also offer a slightly more upscale experience than your average corner pie. In summer, try the Concord Grape sorbet, it's amazing!
Favorite pizza in Boston. A little thicker than “thin” crust (especially the crust), doesn’t flop, delicious char, even tastes good with a delayed delivery.
The disrespect and poor customer service skills demonstrated by your hosting staff do not help in creating a welcoming environment for your guests. I noticed an elderly couple wait more than 20 minutes while the host mismanaged the list of names, there's was at the top of the list. Let's hope the food is good...
Update: Food was pretty good, our server, Thomas, was most excellent. Pizza was good, just make sure you eat it while it's warm. Cold, slightly charred pizza is wack. For starters though, make sure you try the Braised Chicken Tacos. They are truly gangsta.
Food and service were stunningly excellent.
Calzone and even bread with olive oil was delicious.
Pumpkin soup was very good but tangy.
Tahini ice cream was mind blowingly good.
Pear ice cream was literally like eating a pear.
Raspberry chip was excellent.
Will come again for Mac and cheese and more ice cream.
Pizza, small plates, and homade ice cream. Beer selection is always rotating with some of the best local I and APA's. Pizza has won multiple Best in Boston titles before, and you'll realize why rather quickly. The ice cream is made on site and is an incredible finish to your trip, w sharable options that promotes collaboration.
Great chili when they make it. Very good beer/wine selection and their small pizzas are very good. Pefect place to take a date casually or to just hang out before or after a local show. Never had anything bad here.
The staff was all very friendly but oh my goodness was that pizza amazing. We had the Alsatian and if I had a last meal I would want it would be that pizza. Highly recommend.
Best pizza I’ve eaten to date…
Food, amazing. Service, meh. Pizza, literally freaking amazing.
Underrated, good pizza, great ice cream!
Unfortunately, as evidenced in a brownie sundae with malt ice cream which we had recently, the only but significant flaw was the "hot fudge sauce," which Rick Katz refuses to make authentically thick and only mildly sweet but instead makes a hot chocolate syrup which is too sweet and cloying.
A later visit for chocolate and hazelnut ice creams found them cloying, probably from the sugars used.
I love this place. Everything is great, from the pizza to the pasta to the ice cream. They have their takeout game down perfectly in our covid times.
Pizza was delicious and so was the chocolate sorbet!
Family-friendly pizza place in the South End. The Alsatian pizza is my personal favorite, and the calzones are also worth the $. They have a solid craft beer selection & homemade ice cream.
Chocolate sorbet was yummy.
Haven't totally figured out what all the raving is about though. Good, but I haven't found the amazing/worth a repeat visit dish.
Super popular hangout though and always really crowded when we swing by.
I really enjoyed the overall vibe here. The food came out quick and was tasty. I didn't try the ice cream, but will definitely return soon to try it. The chicken wings were fantastic!
Great wood fire pizza, and some inventive toppings combinations. They also have a diverse beer selection, and killer ice cream. Oh, and the best mac and cheese in Boston.
Finally got to try out this place during Dine out Boston Winter 2019, and was glad for the opportunity to be able to try out a three-course from here! My friend and I decided to order different items for our individual three courses but ended up splitting each of the dishes (a nice pro-tip to take advantage
I really enjoyed this place, first time here and the pizza was delicious, we had also the meatballs and was very good. Beer selection is very good and the crew members are very friendly.
Best pizza in greater Boston and one of my favorites across the board. Creative and spunky without trying too hard. Be prepared to wait and the service is not always the.best.
This is my favorite restaurant in Boston--excellent pizza, alcohol selection, and homemade ice cream. Last time I was there I learned that the owner used to work in pastry, and it definitely shows because the dough is beyond anything I've had elsewhere.
In town on business. Couldn't ask for better customer service. I accidentally ordered a pizza for delivery that was full of olives; called to complain, turns out I misread the menu and it was supposed to have olives. Even though it was completely MY fault they insisted on refunding the entire $31 bill. That's how you keep customers for life.
Delicious, simple pizza and great ice-cream.
Their avocado corn salad was delicious. Although I didn't eat it, the pizza certainly looked good. Beer selection was very good. Relatively expensive.
Very good pizza place. Service is very good and friendly.
The only drawback....they don't accept Amex
Ask for the lightly cook if you dont want it too burnt, only few options but all of them are tasty and not super expensive for the are. It is our go to place for pizza
The service was great. The pizza was dire. You can't just throw wet, acidic tomatoes on a dough base with some cheese and call that a Margerita. It has to be tomato puree.
Super adorable bar and restaurant with a ice cream shop. Chic clientle but not overly snobby or posh. Everyone can get something they like it the quaint atmosphere. Supposively awesome pizza as well, that I will have to try on my next visit.
Dont skip out on this incredible find. One of best pizzas AND best ice cream Ive had ever, hands down. Alasatian pizza! Coconut chip and caramel swir will keep u coming back. Definitely worth every penny!
Delicious pizza and friendly staff. Looking forward to going back for the ice cream we didn't have room for.
Anything they serve is the best I've ever had . Top marks for pizza and ice cream but also salads and snacks like burrata and fish tacos
Awesome calzone. We are at the bar and needed to be in and out quickly. The bartender was very friendly and helpful. I will return for their house made ice cream.
Best pizza (thin crust) I've found in Boston, and convenient to the Boston Center for the Arts. We frequently catch pre-theater dinner there. Leave some time, though, as it's often crowded.
Best pizza outside of the North End. Can split pizza in half to get different toppings. Great date night option, especially for beer and ice cream lovers.
My favorite pizza in Boston. Also don't forget to have ice cream!! It's all amazing and also the best tacos around for the gluten free.
Diverse & interesting tap selection. Menu is diverse without having a zillion things to choose from, offers something for everyone. You can tell the staff & cooks are knowledgable & take pride in their craft. Food is outstanding!
Very small place. Not many tables to sit with others in your party. They had alot of bar stools but it makes it impossible to have an intimate conversation with others.
Food was delicious. Staff was good place was clean
fab pizza! Though outwardly not very child friendly (it looks more like a grownups place) our children were made feel welcome by the lovely waiter. Would recommend!
My pizza waa delectable and there was no way I could finish it. We sat at the bar, the bartender was very attentive and made sure our waters were never empty and offered refills on drinks the moment they were empty!
Pizza is amazing.
Staff can be very rude.
Comfortable atmosphere and some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. Top it off with homemade ice cream and you’ve got a winning combination.
Best pizza and ice cream in Boston, which is a pretty great combination. If peach or strawberry is in season, you have to get it. Otherwise, go for a brownie sundae
Excellent pizza, salads and other dishes. Good craft beers. Good service. Pricey. We go here fairly often and have never been disappointed.
Pizza and homemade ice cream is amazing here. Also great service. Definitely one of my favourite places!
The service is excellent, and the pizza is of great quality. 2 small pizzas was plenty for lunch for 2. The toppings were really fresh and tasty.
Had pizza and pasta. All very good. Currently take out only. Order was ready for pickup exactly when they said.
The pizza is delicious. Friendly staff. We got a bottle of Prosecco and enjoyed it
The pizza dough is up there with (London's) Franco Manca, even though it's very different.
The pizzas were great.
Haven't tried the ice cream.
Truly Excellent Margherita Pizza: wonderful rustic crust, flavors come through. Friendly service. Lovely setting.
Easily the best pizza and ice cream in Boston for take out or dining in. My favorite? The Alsatian -- sautéed onions, shallots, garlic, crème fraiche, bacon & gruyere. One minor caveat: Picco gets VERY busy so prepare to wait for a table or your carry out order.
Great pizza, better ice cream awesome ambiance. I'd go here for anything from a date to a hang out. Great place, I come often.
I love this restaurant. I used to live in the South End and came to Picco for pizza at least once a week. Even if I've eaten dinner, I try to stop by when I'm in the area for a cup of ice cream.
The ice cream portions were a bit small and the thin pizzas were very good. I'd come again to try all the other pizza selections.
Great thin crust bubbly pizza.
The absolute BEST pizza place in Boston! You will come back. Top quality pizza, excellent service, you will wish you came here sooner.
Solid family friendly spot. Good beer selection.
I'm impressed by their services and food. We ate pizza and it tasted rlly nice. Soon later the chef told us that he charged usd$0 for it becauz the chef did not like the way pizza was cooked. I would never see such impressive chef in my country
Think all pizzas are the same? Think again. We loved the house style of charring the pizza in the wood fitted ovens. Great atmosphere, busy but good service.
Little pricey, mac and cheese was not good. got it with the roasted garlic couldn't taste the garlic, spiral noodles do not hold cheese well not enough cheese, and the noodles where very al dente.
Great pizza, I shared a large pepperoni, it was enough for us. Good selection of ales and nice atmosphere.
Favorite pizza place in Boston. Alsatian is to die for. Great beers and free ice cream with Yelp check in. What can beat it?
Is there any better combo that (P)izza, (I)ce (C)ream, and (co)mpany?!?! Always a great beer and wine selection. Even better with al fresco dining when it's warm!
Great pizza. Good sorbet (we had blood orange raspberry). Friendly staff. Nice environment.
The restaurant was very busy when I arrived. I was promptly seated at the bar. Service was prompt. Decent wine selection, will be back to try the pizza!
Great food. Great service. Somewhat limited menu, but the quality of the food makes up for it twice over. Had a fantastic date here, absolutely recommend you check it out if you're in the area!
Restaurant was nice and service was very fast and good. We ate pepperoni pizza which was excellent. Also cinnamon ice cream and brownie was to die for.
Really liked the pizza. We had the Alsatian - the flavors melded nicely and the pizza was cooked well.
Just tried the Pepperoni: Exceptional. Might be the best pizza I've had in years. Any Pizzeria Bianco (Phoenix) fans? This place will hold you over until you return.
Great place for a casual warm personal hangout.. good food and nice little selection of drinks! Recommended.
The Alsatian pizza is a must! For variety, you can request half / half for pizzas, which is a plus if you have a small party. Save room for the ice cream!
Burn your mouth good.
This place is great! They always have a few great beers on tap, pizza is really good, and ice cream is great.
I had a lemonade and the small bowl of mac & cheese with bacon, and it was delicious. I sat at the bar, and the servers were friendly and attentive.
Fresh food, friendly servers... but the wait is always absurdly long. Some of that seems to be the result of too few servers, leaving guests to linger longer than we might otherwise want to do.
A little cramped, otherwise all is well, friendly staff, I liked the Bacon Pizza a lot
One of the best new school pizzas in Boston; great beer and wine selection, amazing ice creams.
Great place to bring babies and kids - quick, friendly service; crayons and paper; kiddie drinking cups and sundaes; and non-kid parties are enjoying their meals so much they won't notice your personal chaos.
Go hungry and with enough people that you can try a few of everything. You won't regret it!
Great char on pizza. They expanded the patio seating which is great for the Boston summers
Food was great. Mushroom pizza was on point. The restaurant was cold . They need to up their heat or maybe put curtain on the door .
Best pizza, pasta and ice cream in the South End. Nice space and a great staff, too, with excellent beer and wine lists
Might be the best pizza in Boston
Yummy charred pizza. Good ingredients. Good beer and wine selection. Fab homemade ice cream.
Our favorite place in the South End. Great beer selection, wonderful pizza, and a chill atmosphere. Good ice cream, too!
The food was really good.... make sure you have a reservation.... it got pretty crowded quickly and the ladies at the front could have done a better job... the bar area is first come first serve
As a French visitor, I can assure you that these pizzas are really great and tasty, but there is a lack of sympathy from the waiters
Pizza is amazing and the ice cream is just as good. Nice outdoor seating area and good drink selection.
Awesome Calzone. Got the Hot Bannna Peppers with mushrooms and Italian sausage. The small is plenty for one person
Where else can you get local corn ice cream? Pizza is very good and they are dealing well with the covid-19 precautions.
I love the different pizzas that Picco has to offer. You also can't go wrong ordering the daily ravioli special!
Pizza was great. Excellent. Menu is really confusing.
The Alsatian is our absolute favorite pizza and it is the pizza place we recommend most to everyone we know that is in or visiting Boston.
Great service great pizza and great ice cream. I will definitely come back the next time I'm in Boston.
Excellent food, particularly the icecream. Good sized portions and very tasty overall. Great crafted beer too
The bolognese was excellent and the gingerbread, ice cream and raspberry sauce a totally killer combo. Reasonable prices, friendly good service.
Had the cauliflower gordita and the mac n cheese with sausage and garlic. Both were amazing! Steer clear of the Malbec though
If you don't want to eat "ashes of pizza" - order a light cooked pizza. They take "well done" to their hearts.
Always my favorite, we always stop on our way through Boston. Their pizza is the best and the beer selection is on point.
The pizza is the best I've had in Boston so far. The homemade ice-cream is just the cherry on top.
Some of the best pizza in town. Crispy thin crusts with top shelf toppings
Delicious! Great food and wonderful ice cream.
Our waitress was very kind and checked in regularly. They had a tasty vegetarian ratatouille pasta dish.
Great Pizza, reminds me the real Italian style pizza from Europe. Delicious Ice Cream also.
Favorite pizza in Boston and great vibe (when it's not too crowded). Just wish they'd take the plunge and cross the Broadway bridge to deliver!
Great pizza, but their ice cream really steals the show
Pizza was really good. Charring adds a really nice flavor. Icecreams are also worth it.
Staff exceptional!
Tasty exotic salad, combination of avocado, mango and nuts, delicious crusty gourmet pizza.
Pizza and service at this location is great. fast, efficient, and courteous service. the place has an awesome atmosphere.
Best pizza in Boston. You will have to wait for a table sometimes but it is well worth it.
Great pizza, staff, and beer. If you're staying at the Revolution Hotel, this is great place for dinner.
Awesome pizza and really good ice cream. Good beer list is a plus too.
Amazing oven baked pizza! Some of the best I've had! Their tomato and basil is unreal!
Very good pizza and salads. Slow, inattentive service but not horribly so.
Would return :-)
Pretty good flavor combinations for pizzas and calzones. The plus is a decent beer selection
They literally burn the pizza up even the onions get burned off. I might give them another try but wasn't exactly what i was hoping for.
One of the best pizza places in the Northeast (up there with the greats of New Haven & NY)
The pizza was incredible, and the ice cream was some of the best I've had in Boston.
ALWAYS love this place, never a bad time, always consistent and wonderful. Always get the Mac and cheese, but other favorites: meatballs, alsatian, calzone all to die for
Very very good pizza and ice cream.
Great little neighborhood
Very tasty appetizer items. Good service. Fair prices.
Holy hell the sausage fennel pizza. You’re welcome.
The pizza looked great, but I went with a Mexican dish that was surprisingly excellent. Great spot for lunch
Always friendly staff, food and ice cream are always amazing!
Pizza is thicker than I remember but still stellar. Great ipa selection. Get the alsacian or pepperoni
Delicious pizza, just incredible
Great food. The pizza was excellent and the eggplant parmigiana appetizer was as well.
Havent actually eaten here bc the girl on the phone didn't seem very nice. I told her that and she insisted she was, but I really don't believe her. I'd recommend going someplace with less hauty service.
Tasty and great ambiance in the South End. Flat bread pizza is amazing. Must try the Alastian pie!
The best pizza, Mac and cheese, and ice creams, Super consistent quality
Food was delicious. Service was underwhelming. Perfect ice cream!!
The only pizza shop in Boston that cooks their pizza. Excellent.
Fun, classy and not too expensive! The firewood pizza was to die for! And the icecream was great!
Great service and very good food and beers
Delish!
Best pizza I've had in Boston and the ice cream is not to be missed!
Phenomenal pizza, tasty wood fire crust. Fun, pub style atmosphere.
The food is good and reasonably priced. Very tasty pizza and wonderful ice cream.
Bottom of pizza was soggy and makes it difficult to eat without using a fork. It's a bit overpriced for what you get.
Very good pizza and service this restaurant is quite possibly the best thing to exist in Boston
Amazing place to eat some of the best pizzas in Boston.
Nice ambience and atmosphere.
Best pizza in Boston! Sour dough crust is to die for. Get the alsation!!!
Great pizza and amazing ice cream, visiting again to try more flavors and another 🍕!!! …
I took my 6 and 7 yr old and we all had such a great time, food, and service. When I got back to the hotel I told the concierge they have to recommend this place to families
One of my absolute favorite places to eat. The food is great, the employees are awesome and they always have a great selection of beers on tap.
Best homemade ice-cream and pizza in town, great beer selection
Nice atmosphere, good service. Ceasar salad and pepperoni pizza were delicious.
Ravioli was outstanding. Service couldn't have been better. We went early and it wasn't yet crowded. Ambience was pleasant.
Amazing!! I cannot even begin to explain how good this place is! The pizza and blueberry cake are to die for!
Great Italian basics with a gourmet twist. Excellent micro-brew beer selection.
Some of the best pizza in USA. ECLECTIC high end craft beer too.
Nice place and friendly staff. The pizza is really good and the icecream as well
Went tonite on spare off the moment

Really good pizza with a signature char. The ice cream is great too!
Best Pizza in the City. Hot right out of the oven. Great Milkshakes also.
Great apps and pizza! Didn't have any ice cream but I've heard it is amazing.
Best pizza I’ve had in Boston and I’ve lived here for 20 years.
really good pizza and really good ice cream. I enjoyed my meal it was good.
The highest of quality, using wonderful ingredients and innovative preparations. Fantastic beers and wines as well.
Picking up deliveries could be such fun so I Dash yums all around town
Pizza and ice cream, both well done! Always busy, so try and go on a off time or with a reservation
A good classic quick eat in back bay. Does fill up on certain nights so a reservation is probably best.
One of my favorite places. Great food and excellent beer rotation.
Great place for lunch. Friendly staff and excellent food!
Incredible food, also convenient take out gourmet pizza and calzones!

Pizzas are pretty good and the beer selection, although small, is good.

2019 Harrigan survey of 1
Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had!
The best charred pizza in all of South End, and service was fantastic!
Amazing food and the server was on top of everything, made good suggestions, and also appeared and acted kindly to any questions, comments, or concerns.
Really great pizza and beer. And the fish tacos were excellent, too!
The crust on the pizza is to die for and the ice cream is amazing! I recommend the pistachio ice cream
Pretty good. Service was good.
Picco's pizza margarita is the closest thing we've found
to the authentic Neapolitan pizza!
New owner Tony is a very nice guy
Very good pizza !! Don't miss it if you are in Boston
Some of the best pizza I've had outside of Italy.
Best pizza ever. Ice cream is great too.
Excellent food and service!
