Reviews of Ciao! Pizza and Pasta
Matthew Pielichowski
10/10 restaurant
I'm gonna say with a doubt, one of, if not the best Italian restaurants meals I have ever had.
The wait staff is amazing, made the experience so much better. We came here TWICE, because it was that good. (2 days in a row) We ordered 5 spaghetti shrimp scampi for all my buddies. All of which had their eyes roll to the back of their heads.
Their pasta is all fresh and they put fresh garlic and basil in everything. Garlic bread? Fresh garlic. Pizza? Fresh garlic.

We have been coming here regularly for a few years now. Best pizzas anywhere hands down. The homemade fresh pasta all taste amazing, too. It totally sucked the pandemic happened and they had to close their other locations. The chicken panini is my go-to.

Owner is SO nice! Small little spot but excellent service and food! Started with a small salad that was simple but delicious then all 4 of us got our own pizza because we couldn't decide! My mom said the cannolis were better than the north end! They were all incredible! Great little spot and I can't wait to come back!
Timothy Kerrigan
Great pizza, wood fired or brick oven, I don't know the difference, but it was really delicious! Toppings were large and tasty and the crust was excellent! Crispy puffy edges and thin and softer in the middle, definitely fold-your-slice-in-half-style! Had three different pizzas here too, all delicious! Plus a dessert Nutella style with strawberry and banana, super yummy!
Only drawback was very limited seating inside and it was cold so we sat on covered enclosed patio, but was still a little chilly to this ill-prepared California softy!
Dan Kerr
Nice Local place that has reasonably priced food but is different from the big chains.
Food was flavorful. My wife especially loved the dish with the truffle oil. I had the spaghetti carbona which had good flavor worth getting. We ate outside but that didn't effect the service which was great since that can sometimes be a problem. Worth a try to support the small places. Would recommend.
Hidden Gem
Had a good experience! Very friendly service and the pizza was tasty (although the sauce was a bit too sweet imo). Fettuccine was also good but I felt like there was something missing. Overall both were solid and delicious.
Will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

“This might be the best pizza I’ve ever had.! Straight up.” said my husband as he finished his 4 slice. He ordered two pies for us, one with Prosciutto and another with mushroom. Though by the time we came home the pizza was slightly cold, it tasted amazing!! Best pizza!!

This place has such a fun vibe! With really great menu of pizzas (with good vegetarian options).
The waitress was so helpful and got our orders faster than we expected! Cute spot with outdoor seating and parking

This is the best pizza I've had since being in New York. So glad I found this place. The food was amazing as was the service!! They gave us a free canoli for it being our first time. And totally ordering some of those next time. They have made a customer for life! A must try here in Boston whether you are visiting or you live here.

Seating is tight and it's a hole in the wall but food was worth the travel from Maryland. We ordered the Margarita Pizza and the campeanelle. Service was great and accommodating.
First off, the sauce. On point! It has a freshness and zest that brightens all their dishes. The zing of tomatoes made my mouth salivate as I am eating the food.
Second, the pasta and bread. Perfectly cooked and are perfect vehicles for the sauce. The pasta had chorizo shavings on top which added a salty n smoky profile which was to die for. There was a perfect balance rather than an overwhelming oiliness I generally know of.
Shawn Hawkins
I gave this 5 stars because the food was delicious and authentic Italian style. I went there with my nephew, daughter and myself. We ordered 2 pizzas and I got the shrimp scampi. Gisselle and her staff were awesome and very greeting. She is was so polite and nice, as towards the end when I was paying she gave us free cannoli’s, This place is definitely I spot I will eat at again.
Abel Agnes
Reliably great food with a friendly staff. Originally came for the pizza, but the pasta keeps me coming back. Wish the garlic were sliced thin for the pizza, but still great overall and you can't go wrong with any item on the menu
Warning: extremely limited parking in the lot
Charlton Becker
Authentic Italian cuisine made with the freshest ingredients. Incredible staff and amazing service. Wonderful quaint ambience. Hidden gem in an up and coming area.

This pizza can compete with the best of New York pizza places. Everything tasted and looked so authentic. We tried fungi pizza, chicken and bacon pizza and shrimp
pasta. It's a tiny place with few tables and courteous staff.
Raj Ramjit
Pizza was excellent, that sauce is the secret. Service was casual, warm and friendly. Relaxed ambiance. Good ipa. Not a lot of seating capacity. My wife had the pasta with bacon, it was underwhelming. Next time I'll try the short ribs. Some flies bothered me at my table so please try to control that. My kinda place, I'll be back.
tim white
We look for the simple things done with great ingredients handled perfectly. Rumors were true. This tight place is simply excellent! Great Curated small beer list and my go to margharit pizza had one of the lightest crispy crust i have had for high heat neoplitan pies
Staff told me the pasta is homemade which will oresicate many more visits.
Ciao for know
We will be back :)
Small and extremely popular - get there early or, get yours to go :)
Bryant Wood
Stopped for lunch before my flight home, best decision of my entire trip. The spaghetti carbonara with homemade pasta, combined with the fresh garlic bread is exactly what I needed. If you have a chance, absolutely come here.
Юлия Соломина
Got there to have a lunch and that was no doubt a good decision. We took seasonal corn pizza and arugula salad, that was delicious! Stuff was nice, and our food was served SUPER FAST. Highly recommended, definitely coming back for their pasta!
Pietro Rossini
Excellent pizza made in Napolitan style... Edison, the waiter was so nice. I went with a friend and we got a Margherita and a Soppressata, both delicious. We also ordered espresso and with our surprise we got also cannolis with it without ordering them. And at the check out, we paid just for the pizzas. Edison said, "Italian hospitality!"
Highly recommended and we are going back there again for sure!
Steve A
We came from California to try some real pizza in Boston and New York. And this is the best place during our entire trip!
Brian Chee
Hole in the wall - Wood fire pizza! Good pizza and pasta selection and super chewy dough!
The service team is super duper friendly and great service!
Definitely will come back to their pasta and sandwiches.
JINXED MOMO
We were a little disappointed with the food, since great Google reviews brought us here..
We had the Funghi + garlic bread. The base was uneven & dry. While the flavor was there, it lacked seasoning and tasted like a hasty bake.
It’s a nice hole-in-the-wall pizza place to try out, but the food quality did not live up to its online reputation for us.
Ambience: 4/5 moody, casual!
Food: 3/5
Service: 4/5
Khumoetsile Sehume
Probably the best pizza I have ever had. Our waitress was amazing and the owner I’m assuming was very friendly and had small talk with us. Thank you for the amazing food and got great service, my husband and I will be back.
Dylan Argenziano
The pizza and pasta were amazing and the service was even better! We tried the Americana and shrimp pizza, awesome! But the fettuccini pasta was the best pasta I’ve tasted in a long time and cooked to perfection! My friend ordered that but I got to try it. I wanted to return the next evening to get the pasta myself but I had to make my way home to Florida the next morning. Chelsea is lucky to have this great food spot and I will miss it! Even luckier is the owner(s) for the service team they have, wish I would have gotten the name of our waitress she was the best! Thanks for a great meal!
Meredith
What I like the most about this place is that they make their own pasta. We ordered pasta carbonara but is not the regular recipe. They make their own recipe which I think was great! we also got the American pizza which was very good.
Ritu Thapa
Ciao never misses. We’ve been going to ciao for about 6 months now and I have to tell you, the taste is always consistent and they never miss! We got the Margherita Pizza (like always), arugula salad and spaghetti carbonara today. And as always, everything was cooked perfectly. The food came out on time and our server was very polite and friendly. The Tiramisu was just ok… but that is because I’m a tiramisu enthusiast and it’s pretty tough to impress me when it comes to Tiramisu ahaha.

Incredible! One of the best pizza’s I’ve had in Mass. Some amazing pizza and blows the competition out of the water.
The owner was very polite and friendly. We decided to get one Margherita, one prosciutto and one Salsiccia pizza. All the pizzas were in a Neapolitan style with that stretchy dough consistency you find on traditional Neapolitans.
Our favourite was the prosciutto di Parma which had this amazing cheese and jam on it. It was very tasty.
At the end of the meal the owner even brought us canolli’s. Which were also amazing and very appreciated!
I’m originally from London and have struggled to find good pizza even in the North End. This pizza does not disappoint.
King Street
Came in on a busy Friday night for a quick bite. Front of the house was friendly and efficient, and seating right by the register gave us a great show of the back of the house juggling online, over the phone, walk-in and eat-in orders (and the occasional customer walking through the kitchen to get to the restroom)! Had the Fungus pizza which was perfectly balanced with roasted garlic and arugula. Crust is tender and chewy. Just a delight!
Steve Carr
Best pizza in the Boston area. Small and discreet location with amazing food and super friendly staff. Limited parking and seating but we'll worth the effort. Take out is great as well if you just want amazing food at home.
Katherine O'Sullivan
We got a margarita pizza with prosciutto and arugula along with the gnocchi and it was hands down the best pizza and pasta around!
Dario Camacho
Excelent pizza, delicious pasta and very taste arugula salad, service was great and not delays!
Jackson Richter
Ive been here so many times I just can't get enough. The crust on their wood fired garlic bread is like GOLD. Everything on their menu is excellent, and its nice that they stick with a somewhat small menu to keep quality high. Everything here is wood fired and made from scratch so don't let the atmosphere fool you. You sit either at the small to go bar in the window, or outside in the heated patio. Service is also good for the size of the restaurant. I still can't wrap my head around that garlic bread........
Saurabh Dhande
This is yet another hidden gem when one craves for a mind-boggling pizza! Best pizza yet in 5 years within Massachusetts, and hope to explore more like this.
Trisha “Miss T Pain” C.
Pizzas were amazing! Staff was attentive and nice.
Satyajith Chilappagari
Amazing. Perfectly cooked and seasoned pasta and a delicious pizza make it one of the best restaurants I’ve visited in Boston. The next time I’ll probably not drive there to check out their wine collection as well!
Yazy
One of Chelsea’s hidden gems! Ciao serves best Pizza you will ever try! I discovered the place in 2019 and the quality is always the best. The fungi is absolutely our favorite. Make sure to try their cannolis too.
Jack Duke
Everything is a yes 🙌 🥰😋 the pizza here is all around epic. The pasta might be better... idk but it's all delicious.we lucked out on our travels by going here from our hotel around the block and we are so glad we did. Ate there twice during our week stay it was so good.
Michelle Dao
Only pizza I get in Boston of my own volition. It can be pricey but it’s worth it when most pizza is disappointing in Boston. Can you tell I’m from NY?
I get the fungi typically as it suits my tastes and preferences. I gotten the Italian sausage as well as the prosciutto pizza. I always go back to funghi.
We get take out typically as the shop is small and most of the seating is outside. The parking is super small so if you’re driving in, go to the main road Broadway and street park there.
Heather Unverzagt
We stopped here on our first night in Chelsea and I couldn't have been happier. The pizza was heavenly and the pasta is to die for. The girls waiting on us were absolute angels and passersby were friendly and emphasized how good the food was.
Dra Tv
Got carbonara and funghi pizza. Both were good. Want to try margarita next time
Steve Bowdoin
This was our best meal while in Boston. We had some artisan pizza. We ate every bite. We can't get those in Montgomery. The owner gave us recommendations. He was great.
Abed Hout
This place is the best pizza place in Boston. If you’re looking for neopolitan style pizza, this is the place to go. The crust is well done, wood fired, chewy and fluffy, nicely charred. The sauce is terrific, they use San Marzano tomatoes. Would absolutely recommend!
Janett Fernandez
Loved the margharita pie. We stopped by since we drove from NJ for a wedding. Nice place only thing, wish there were more space and bigger tables. We went with my 3 year old and couldn't sit her on the chair since someone else was in the way next to us. Thankfully they left after 30mins.
Lisa Core
Delicious & fast pizza. The kind where you could finish the entire thing yourself. Light, airy wood-fired crust. Best to go alone so you don't have to share.
Jonathan Allen
Cute small restaurant with inside and outdoor seating. The pizza oven heats the covered outdoor eating area so sitting outdoors is viable in the fall. We loved the creamy braised short rib gnocchetti, it's pretty wow. We also got the pizza margherita and funghi, both were exceptional. Great brick oven style pizza with paper thin crust and brick oven flavored soft crust. Our favorite was the Gnocchetti, but if you are on a diet, don't even think about it! 🤣
Service was actually decent considering how busy they were and we were outside. Props to the two ladies that run the front!
We will be back to try your other homemade pastas.
Eugene Lee
Best wood-fired pizza in Boston!! Must try the Margherita and the Arugula Salad went well with it too. Tiramisu was a little bit too sweet. They have an adorable little patio dining area which we were lucky enough to have to ourselves. Highly recommend!!
Myrna Lempert (Divinemissm17)
Amazing wood-fired pizza! This is a hidden gem in Chelsea, MA. As locals, we were very happy to discover this place so close to our apartment. We always sit outside. The patio is intimate, yet has adequate spacing for Covid safety measures. The staff is attentive and friendly. Every time we eat here or get take out we are not disappointed. Also, a good wine lland beer list! Highly recommend!
Neil Nadelman
Charging $20 for an 11 inch pizza is absurd. It had very tasty toppings, but the crust felt undercooked and floppy. As if it was somehow slightly charred on the surface (Which I like), but not cooked through enough to hold its structure.
I tried it once, but won't be back. A shame, really.
Anthony Toy
I think I just THE best pizza I've eaten in my life.... I've eaten quite a bit of pizza, but let me say the Mushroom pizza was just perfectly balanced and flavorful! Their attention to detail, cook time, and balance of ingredients make their food really stand out. My party ordered the Funghi pizza, Sopressata pizza, shrimp pizza, and shrimp scampi. My favorite were the Funghi and shrimp scampi. Pasta was the perfect al dente and sauce and herbs were perfect. All staff onsite were very attentive and friendly. Highly recommended if you come to Boston!
Kevin Roy
Amazing pizza and short rib gnocchi. Service was fast and friendly. Accommodations are a bit tight, butit is worth it. We loved the food!
Mireia Perera
We've been here twice within a week after we discover this awesome place. Both times I wanted to take a picture when the food came... it was so good I completely forgot about the picture the first time (and almost the second one too haha).
This picture is from the funghi pizza and bolognesa campanelle. Our favs: salsiccia pizza and gnochetti.
This place makes you feel like home, portions are big and prices are great. We're so happy we found it!
Leon Dorado
Great little place for pizza and pasta. The place was a lot smaller than we expected but it worked for our small group. The pizza was awesome and the pasta was great as well. Our waitress was super friendly but the guy who was supposed to bring us boxes forgot about us and the music was a little too loud which made it hard to have a conversation. Also street parking was a little hard to find. Other than those things this place has really delicious food and a cool vibe.
Anthony G. Viscusi
Definitely authentic Neopolitan pizza here in Boston! I tried the Soppressata, Proscutto da Parma, and Funghi pies and each were made with high quality ingredients and cooked to a beautiful crisp. We also had the Gnocchetti which was well prepared and cheesy goodness. Worth the drive from anywhere within an hour away! I will be back soon.

Overall
I couldn’t believe there is a 5 star rating restaurant with more than 600 reviews on Yelp. That’s why we decided to check it out. Yes. I was not disappointed at all even with a very high expectation.
Service
This is a very small restaurant with 10 outdoor seating and 4 indoor. The service is minimum but nice.
Food
The dough was perfect and the wood fire made it even better. The toppings were very good as well. If you are looking for the best wood fried pizza in Boston area, come here!
Kbho Adhi Raat ma
You guys should change you name to something more fitting, from Ciao ! Pizza to Wow Pizza :P
But seriously you guys make the Yummiest pizzas.
Teresa Di Manno
My hubby and I tried this place for the first time tonight and it was so good! We were lucky enough to be able to sit at the front two seats of the bar ( our fav spot always) where all the food was being prepared. We ordered a margarita pizza, and Campanelle pasta! The pizza was really good, wood fired and great dough. Sauce was nice and ingredients balanced very well!
The pasta was good. Something really
lush and comforting in cold weather. It was a chorizo bolognese with an unusual creamy sauce. It didn’t remind me of italy but it was a great American, Italian take on the dish!
Oh and the customer service was excellent and staff really friendly. They are super attentive to their customers in the restaurant and there was a lot of traffic to Order for “Pick up”
We were offered Cannoli for dessert which was a lovely gesture and they were delicious. They were prepared with fresh fillings before serving which made them even better! The small portion made the perfect sweet treat after a great meal! We will definitely be revisiting!
Nathaniel Arias-Velez
If you're looking for a proper gourmet wood-fired pizza and high quality pasta, this is the place. I visited Ciao twice over the same long weekend simply because it really was that good.
First and foremost, a huge shout-out to Flor who, both times, took care of me and my party as well as recommended great bottles of wine. She is very friendly and always spoke with a smile on her face.
The space is limited and allows for a more personal experience, however not the most comfortable depending on size of party.
The food itself was outstanding. The pizza dough is amazingly soft and fresh, as were the rest of the ingredients. I had the margherita as well as the shrimp pizza. I cannot stress how great the margherita is. The shrimp was also full of flavor but I judge a place by how they do the classic and ciao does not disappoint.
For pastas, I would highly recommend the fettuccine. The pasta and cream were delicious. I also tried the gnocchetti, which to me was like a beef stew with the gnocchetti pasta on top. It was good, and I can tell they do it well, but not my favorite.
Finally, for desserts, the freshly, in-house made cannoli was a crowd favorite. The tiramisu was also good but pretty on par with expected.
Also forgot to mention I had some salad. It was alright but mostly because I'm not a salad guy. If you are a salad individual, try the salad.
Regardless, not sure why you're still reading this and haven't placed your order because you clearly should be eating here right now.
Sean McSweeney
Amazing. Simply amazing. I read about the service here, and they were absolutely correct. The girls working here really care about the place and the customers. The kitchen staff are friendly and are serious with the food. I had high hopes for this place and I was still blown away. We had the gnocetti and it was fantastic. The pizza, bar none. If you're in the area. You cannot pass by this place.
Catherine Vasquez
Delicious! The pizza and the pasta. Loved the Margarita. The gnocchetti with short rib was amazing. The place is small and cozy. We sat in the patio and had a great time since it was property heated.
Ray Miller
This place is a hidden jewel. Not the nicest place but the attitude, food and service we're excellent! Pizza was a good as it gets and our server had an amazing attitude and smile! The home made potato chips we're yummy! You do have to walk through the kitchen to get to a tiny bathroom, but it was clean. Every staff member I encountered was beyond friendly with a super cool vibe! Pizza and pasta dish was a 10 with very reasonable prices. Highly recommend if you are looking for the steak without the sizzle.
Christian Adams
One of the best pizzas i’ve had. I’m not very familiar with east coast style pizza but this place hit every note. Great soft crust, amazing sauce, and fresh toppings you can taste. We ordered the margarita add pepperoni and the pollo arrosto, more than enough for two people. Pair all this with great service and it made for a awesome dinner. Would highly recommend.
Update:
Been back 3 times since, the pasta is pretty decent as well!
Tyler Robertson
This wood fired pizza was very tasty and a perfect size for 2 people to share. A perfect combo of doughy crust with a slight crunch. We enjoyed this pizza at Mary O'Malley park right around the corner.
Michelle
Fungi pizza and bolognese Campanella were phenomenal
Leika Pierre-Louis
I visited there mainly due to a recommendation by a family member. I am not 'pizza' fan but I do have to say that it was quite appetizing. I do believe that if I was a pizza lover, I would have enjoyed it much more. I had the Corn pizza and it was a new item and for any corn lover out there, definitely order it!!!
FYI they do have a small parking space, and there is seating both inside and out.
Leened Velazquez
The BEST pizza in Chelsea, MA! The atmosphere is aesthetically pleasing , the server was friendly and kind, and the food was AMAZINGLY delicious! Recommend 100%!
rodney alejandro
Had to go back for another meal. It’s official this place has great food and service. This time I had the Shrimp Scampi. This dish has amazing flavor with a kick of chili topped off by being visually appealing. My new favorite. This small spot in Chelsea will become a big name in the area so get there before you can’t get in.
Kera Cachia
The pizza was delicious and had great service will be back. Didn't have to wait long at all for our pizza to come out
Christian Johnson
Amazing! The reviews about this place did not lie. One of the best pizzas I’ve ever had!
Christopher Cartaya
This place was awesome! It's a small place with an Italian menu and low key atmosphere. The food was excellent. We ordered spaghetti and pizza. The spaghetti noodles were done to perfection. The sauce was very savory. The shrimp was the icing on the cake as it added some texture to the plate. We had a prosciutto pizza as well. The crust was soft. The sweetness of the apple pesto and the saltiness of the meat was a winner. I would highly recommend this place. Check out the pics
paul herr
Great little place to have authentic Italian food. Both of our orders were better than expected. The pizza was freshly made and the fettuccine was best we've ever had. It's made with attention and care. The waiter and the chefs seem to be one big family providing a warm family feeling and treating you as though you are one of them and welcomed.
Bekah Barr
One of the BEST restaurants in Boston, hands down. Amazing service that is fast and friendly, staff are sooo friendly and accommodating and food is always incredible. All of the pastas are to die for. This is THE SPOT I bring anyone, for any occasion, for a fantastic dinner. I don’t know why there isn’t a line around the block (but thank goodness there never is).
Random Someone
My girl is a vegan and found out they have a vegan pizza on the menu. We decided to check the place out.
We were surprised when we went inside and there was only 4 seats but the do have two outdoor options. One is enclosed and heated. It was raining, cold, and windy but it was pleasant inside.
The two girls that waited on us were awesome. The vegan pizza was not on the menu but they said it was still available.
I am not vegan but we split the pizza. It was really good. A little soggy in the middle but it tasted great.
Reasonable prices, kind staff ,and good food. We were very satisfied with out experience.
Veronica M
Best pizza in the area! Never disappoints, haven’t tried anything else because I always come back for the pizza. They are kind in the store and fast for take out. Corn is my favorite one. If you are in the area try it!
Keely
Yum! Love a few of the specialty pizzas here. My other half gets the chicken panini. Really friendly staff and a quick pickup queue since they aren’t on grub hub. We haven’t dined in yet but look forward to it.
Also the garlic bread is *nice*
Nicole Peloquin
This was our first time having Ciao. The pizza was very good. I ordered online before they were even open, and the pizza was ready right at 12 pm. I also ordered one canolli and got 2. The conolli was very good!
Olivia Lechner
Cutest little spot! The seating area is super small but the pizza racks were cool. The pizza was delicious! But if it sits for too long, it kinda gets soggy.
Alexandra Patarino
My fiancé and I have been coming to Ciao for years! Great pizza, fresh pastas and salads. They also do rotating seasonal pizzas which are excellent. This summers corn pizza… 10/10.
Andrew Kimmel
One of the best Italian restaurants in the Boston area. Delicious and authentic food at a price that's not painful. Staff are super friendly. What more to ask for?
Nate Byrnes
Totally rando stop on the way back to Providence. What a find! The pasta was sublime, and the pizza was darned near perfect.
Ana Carolina Dorea Nunes
We came here in 2019 for the first time and then today again (we live in Waltham and come to visit family in Chelsea sometimes). They have the best pasta and pizza I have ever eaten. The prosciutto is just out of this world, and I don’t even like prosciutto pizza. We also had the gnocchi short ribs and OMG…. Please try this at least once your life, whatever I write won’t make justice to the food at this place. To finish my husband also had the Nutella pizza and he’s all praises about it. To make it even better it comes out super fast and the prices are super fair. Honestly, North End is awful comparing to Ciao, the quality is not even comparable.
Brandon Stone
Stopped in for lunch with a colleague. Split the suppressata pizza and campanelle. Really glad that we did.
The chorizo bolognese in the Campanella was divine and honestly probably enough to feed two people alone. It came out blazing fast and served as an oversized appetizer.
The pizza is awesome. Super crispy and definitely leaning towards a fork and knife style because of the toppings. Sauce is excellen.
Overall would hands down come back for either dish. Excellent.
Jayden Elliott
ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS!!! Best pizza ever! Parking can be a little tricky because there is only a very small lot and there isn't a ton of seating but the pizza is incredible and I would definitely go there again!
Tania Amaya
This place is the freaking BEST!!!! this is the gnocchi short rib pasta and it has every magical flavor of deliciousness you could ever imagine. The pasta is cooked to perfection, even the aroma of the sauce alone is mouth watering, the garlic bread is toasty and fluffy. Not only is the food amazing but the service is outstanding. We were served by waitresses Neisha and Flor, they were very attentive and friendly. You ladies and all of the cooks amaze me with the hard work you guys do!! Thank YOU!
Ed Holden
Probably the best pizza in Boston. Which isn't saying a lot, so I'll add that I'd be happy to find this place if I were in New York or New Haven. Thin crust, vaguely Neapolitan style. We had the margherita and the funghi, both excellent. And in case you look at the menu and wonder: yes, you should get the Nutella pizza for dessert.
Seating is very limited, though they offer take out. Also, pro tip: if you like beer, they happen to deliver to the nearby Mystic Brewery taproom, so in a pinch you can sit there.
Chih-Horng Kuo
No doubt the best pizza that I ever had. They definitely take pizzas to a different level than other places that I've been to. Service is very good. Highly recommended.
Cindy Nesbitt
There’s a reason why this place have such great ratings!! Super friendly staff, great atmosphere and their pizzas are just AMAZING! I highly recommend this little place.
Diana Nguyen
What a wonderful find in Chelsea, MA. Ciao! Is a small place with bar seating for about 10 people inside de and has outside heated seating.
Stopped by on a Saturday night around 6:30pm and was able to nab one of 2 spots in the lot for the restaurant. Please note, parking may be tough.
We ordered Fettuccine and a prosciutto and fig ham pizza. Both were exactly what I wanted to have. The pasta was al dente and you can tell it was made with care and precision. The pizza had a thin but chewy crust and the toppings were plentiful.
I’d highly recommend Ciao! For date night. It’s also great to have take out food as well.
Clara Landaverde
One of my favorite places for pizza, very tasty and great quality so far. The staff is quite nice and orders get done on time...at least in my experience.
Carlos Andres Molina
Great pizza, great stuff! Decent prices 👌 …
Robert Constantine
The prosciutto pizza is a banger!
My wife loves the Nutella pizza for dessert. It is a little too sweet for me,
Matthew Chau
The best pizza I have ever had.
Pasta is also homemade and top notch.
Always great service.
Alan Shiflett
Great pizza, awesome pasta and even more amazing service! The restaurant is fairly small as far as seating is concerned and has limited parking. However, the food is really good and is worth the visit.
Michelle R
For the price I paid. Wow. It hit the spot.
Pepperoni, garlic, green peppers. Omg great pizza for the ride home of 20 miles. Pizza price was totally worth the taste buds going crazy.
Dave
Really amazing neopolitan pizza. Flavors were on point and the crust was deliciously smokey. Would also highly recommend the dessert pizza, it was yummy.
Emilee Taylor
Food was to die for! Atmosphere was gorgeous! Staff was very helpful and nice! Would come back to Boston for this food!
Sean McSharry
Really great food. Tiny little place that would be easy to miss. As good as anything in the north end with none of the high prices. I will be coming back!
Brian Wiggin
Didn't go here. Saw it on the Phantom Gourmet. Pizza looked good on tv
An C.
Forget the North End, the best pizza in the Boston area can be found at Ciao! Pizza and Pasta in Chelsea. You can't go wrong with any of the wood-fired pies, and all of the pasta is made from scratch. Personal favorites include the SOPPRESSATA, the SALSICCIA, and the PROSCIUTTO DI PARMA, and the GNOCCHETTI. My friends and family have eaten here many times over the past few years, and the food is consistently amazing. Sadly, the restaurant doesn't offer delivery. But takeout and dine-in service is fast and friendly.

Amazing Neapolitan style pizza. I came with a friend on Memorial Day and love how there wasn’t a long wait. It’s limited seating with an outside tables available as well but don’t let that deter you from enjoying the place. We were greeted wonderfully and were offered some suggestions. I went with the classic margherita and salsicia pizza. Both were delicious and some of the best I’ve ever had. They serve beer and wine if you’re into that. The staff was very hardworking and friendly. The owner also came to chat and greet us since we came about 30 min away and talked to us about the place. Overall I enjoyed the pizza, it’s too bad I live far away that I can’t enjoy from time to time. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Ivani Davies
Some of the best pizza I have had in a long while. i was expecting the restaurant to be much larger, and was surprised to see only a few tables in a gorgeous patio area. the pizza was reasonably priced if not a bit pricy but was delicious. staff were very nice. would recommend!
C V
First went here when I was in Boston 5 years ago and it was unbelievable. Sad to say I had to wait another 4 years before having it again. Now every time I make sure to head out to Chelsea to have it.
Vu Nguyen
Excellent, homemade-style Italian eatery. Fresh pasta will always be leagues ahead of the dried boxed kind, and their sauce really elevates the homemade pasta. I ordered for takeout, but the outdoor patio would be fantastic when it's warmer out.
Keith Gamble
Absolutely the best Italian restaurant I have ever been too!
Edson and company are doing everything super fresh and super delicious!
Fresh PASTA!
Fresh ingredients!
Will be back time and time again!
(I mean when I am in town!)
Keep it up guys!
Elcana Lima
I've been there many times but tonight was my first since the pandemic. Was good to see the food and the service was great as always. Flor, our server, was very sweet and attentive. Ordered a pizza (half uovo and half fungi with added prosciutto) and a braised pork panini. Amazing. The housemade chips was the best chips I've ever had in my life. The cannoli was a great end for our meal... The shell was extra crunchy and the filling deliciously creamy! Looking foward to try their sweet pizza but the whole menu its too tempting and since i can't decide i always order more savory food than i should (the gnocchetti its a must try)! So beware, do yourself a favor and save some room for dessert! You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu!
Hina Sheth
Pizza is some of the best ever! The crust is delicious and they have a variety of toppings and combinations to choose from! ! It’s a small place with a few tables, but we have been able to get a table each time we have visited! The service is fantastic! Highly recommend!!
Philip Dyer
Okay so I'm really upset I didn't try this place sooner. They have this breakfast Pizza that I could eat everyday for the rest of my life.
Juan Martins Mahon
I have the Panini Pollo Arrosto. It was amazing, the tasty pretty good. Delicious food. I really enjoyed it. Thank you Ciao! Pizza
Vernessa Mohammed
Ciaos was ok.. Was expecting spaghetti and meatballs or chicken parm to be on the menu but it wasn't.. Also, they has a pasta Alfredo on the menu but didnt have chicken cutlet so I asked if they could add some chicken. It was ok, I def have had better. The dish was watery rather than creamy or thick and way too many mushrooms. Would probably give it a second chance. Heard the pizza is really good. Hopefully next time I have a better experience
Matthew Barnes
Not much seating but the food speaks for itself! Pizza was great and the pasta was some of the best around. Very small but nice cozy atmosphere. Staff is very nice and friendly.
Jim Woodard
I did not expect the quality of the shrimp pizza we had. The pizza was perfectly cooked and the shrimp and grape tomato additions were juicy and just delicious. This place is a true hidden gem.
Aaron Manier
Excellent Napolitana pizza at the intersection of land, sea, and air. Super-relaxed atmosphere, very nice staff, and a great selection of options for pizza and fresh pasta. I don't know what criteria made them #5 in the country, but it's damn good. Recommended!
iris hale
Best pizza In Boston. Always get the margarita with pepperoni and the Pollo Arrosto. You HAVE to go here, better than anywhere in north end.
Sally A
This place is unbelievable... small place big flavors.. fresh-made pasta to handmade pizza... which would rival any place in Boston...
Justen Willis
The best pizza I’ve ever had, literally hands down the best pizza! Recommend the Funghi!! Delicious!
Sammy Mills
Best pizza I’ve had in Boston. Their pastas are amazing as well and crafted in-house. The front of the house ladies are so helpful and kind. All around amazing!! Love stopping by here when flying in and out of Logan Airport!!
Kathi Bonham
We ordered the corn pizza and house salad. It was delicious! Definitely enough food for two people.
Francesca Gordini
The real Italian, Neapolitan pizza is here. Forget about the semi-italian places in the North End. Take a detour and stop at this fantastic venue or, order their pizza from the local brewery down the street - they partner!
Finally a place that offers honest, fabulous food for good prices.
Ellie Villa-Wilson
Love this place! My go-to pizzas are the Pollo Arrosto, Corn, and Margarita. I also love the Panini’s. You can’t go wrong with Ciao Pizza and Pasta 😊❤️ …
Negar Haghighi (Nicki)
The best wood fire pizza is made in this place! Very authentic place and the quality of the food is beyond awesome!
Maxim Simakoff
Ciao! Pizza Pasta-
When arriving there’s a tight parking lot and underwhelming aroma… but when I tell you this, this is a hidden gem! Food was absolutely unbelievable and the service was insanely good. I order the Funghi pizza and the mushrooms and garlic pieces did not disappoint and then when it was ready for dessert they gave us free cannolis which were super good. I am 100% coming back… Great food and service!
Gucci Whipping
This was the first food stop on our first trip to Boston. Solid option so close to the airport. A Margherita with pepperoni and sausage was demolished between 3 people and also a carbonara.
Both were awesome and our server took care of us real quick. The cooks were putting in work making that food. Would highly recommend this spot
Alenny Taveras
the best and tasty pizza in all of chelsea. I recommend the Americana pizza
Ben Morris
A must try restaurant. The pizza is amazing, top down, from dough to the creative toppings. It doesn't hurt that the service is quick and friendly.
Jonathan Hinerman
The pizza fell apart very easily. However, It tasted good and wasn't terribly priced. There is not a lot of space available to eat-in and the tables are small. The small tables get even smaller when there is multiple pizzas on the rack. Also, the water cups provided were really small plastic cups. We had to fill them 8-10 times throughout the meal.
Eddie Adams
Fresh Pizza. If you want quality pizza you get it here.
Maria S
Wow! Interesting place to visit in the neighborhood of Chelsea’! Greeted by a very pleasant guy named Dillan with a welcoming voice and a cheerful face! He is a very young wait staff who knows what he’s doing and great to talk to! So surprised to see the young chefs and cooks behind the success of this budding restaurant! Oh and yes a pretty rose as well behind the front desk among the thorns 👏🏼👍
Sean
Great pizza, super friendly staff, very welcoming. Definitely coming back when I'm in the area!
Aruj Garg
Our best meal in Boston during our trip. The pasta was the highlight. It shows that it was not store bought pasta but was made in house. The only negative was the tiramisu. They don’t apparently make it in the store and buy another brand. I would recommend that you avoid it. And I really hope that they start making the tiramisu in house. The version served there doesn’t do justice to the rest of the food. The server mentioned that they make their cannolini in house. We couldn’t really try that but others could
Bradley Tatro
We ate here while doing an overnight in Chelsea. It’s small but the food was really good. We had a flight out of Logan airport and it wasn’t too far from any of the hotels near the airport.
Sara Pennington
Absolutely delicious! Tried the salami one, chicken pesto, and sausage mozzarella. 10/10! Friend had the chicken panini and also reported that it was delicious. Great place to visit when in Boston!
SHanice Luciano
Best pizza in Massachusetts!!!! Soooo good the sauce and the crust and everything was just on point!! First timers who will 💯 percent be back. Got some free canolis for coming in for the first time and ordering that next time we come in. Very warm people working here. All around great experience
Leslie Landman
Just. YUM. ONLY negative is there isn't a lot of seating. Otherwise, handmade gnocchi? Fresh-from-fire pizza?!?! Yes.
Mariam Ayoub
AMAZING!!! Best pizza I’ve ever had! And I’m very selective with food! The dough is so light that I ate the entire pizza and I feel very light in my stomach. Fresh, robust flavored ingredients! Great ambience! Wonderful and attentive customer service! And I was gifted with a delicious also homemade cannoli treat at the end of my meal. I Highly recommend it!!!
A Lynne
The location is questionable until you arrive... the establishment is tidy. Outdoor seating a bonus. Personnel is polite, helpful, patient.
The pizza was authentic, prepared professionally, worth its price.
My salad was in its wilted, discolored presentation clearly from yesterday but somehow was still quite tasty.
Time is not wasted here. It is absolutely delicious with a bold, capital "D." Thou shalt return! Thank you so much CIAO PIZZA & PASTA🤗
Dylan Bouchard
Best pizza I’ve ever had. Nothing else comes close
Henry Ung
Best pizza I've had since rabottini's closed... Dough is top notch and that quality of being satisfying without stuffing you. Never been to Naples but I imagine the margherita is as close as you can get to it in Boston. Better than anything I've had in the North End too
Tamira Beth Stephens
First off, their food is excellent. We had a pizza, two pasta dishes, and a salad. It was all delicious, and surprisingly affordable--it all came to $60 for take-out. I love this place.
However. Everything is spicy--even the salad. It's not overwhelming, but it is there. The Serrano pepper in our dishes were cut very thin and were hard to pick out/around. If you don't like spicy or can't handle peppers at all, this might be a challenge.
Patricia F.
Hidden gem! Best pizza I've ever had - Perfect crunch and doughy bits, to die for. Have also tried their mushroom pasta and can't recommend enough. Split their chocolate mousse and it was lovely. The staff is consistently wonderful and their online ordering is very easy. Just great!
Christopher Janney
This is a great little restaurant with fantastic staff, and amazing food! Out of three or four times having food from here, I have had the braised short rib with gnocchi almost every time. Do yourself a favor and get it TODAY! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, and fills you up! It really doesn't matter what you get though, because it will be amazing. My significant other has gotten some different pasta dishes and every one I have tried has been spectacular. You really cannot go wrong!
Terry Singh
It was very good first time there I will definitely be going back again I have the pizza with the sausage and cherry peppers it was very good it was quick and the girls at the desk are very nice and helpful
Anton Verhulst
Many places advertise serving Neapolitan pizza but fall far short of the real thing (are you listening Sweet Tomatoes?). This is the real deal. The Margherita pizza was superb.
Cara H.
Best pizza I’ve had. Even the dough is tasty. Love their cannolis and chocolate mousse. I usually go for the artichoke and add chicken but all their pizzas are excellent. Service is fast and friendly. Love this place.
Alexander Fotta
Go to pizza and pasta place in Chelsea. Great owners and friendly staff. Did I mention in most cases they can turn your take out around in 5 mins?
Sydney
I love this restaurant!!!! My new favorite in Boston. Servers and friendly and attentive. Simple, whole ingredients prepared deliciously. The perfect small restaurant!
Allison Cook
This place was amazing! We had the funghi pizza, arugula salad, and the chopped salad. It was all so tasty. The two young ladies were very nice and attentive.
FuzzBuzzGarcia
Pizza here is amazing, always fresh and delicious,my only complaint is that they dont sell slices.
Alexis Rivas
Absolutely one of the best pizzas in the North Shore don't sleep on them. Had the Pollo Arrosto Pizza it's absolutely delicious. Great flavor and a delicious crust. Staff is polite. And you have to try the chocolate mousse it's delicious.
Morgan Simpson
Fantastic food and people! Our food came out exceptionally quick and was delicious. Some of the best pizza we have ever had. Definitely worth the visit - they earn the exclamation point! Not to be mixed up with other Ciao in town.
Paul Freedman
Great creative pizza with fresh ingredients, other options include salads and pasta dishes
Xavier Torres
This place is awesome from the food to the service, server was so polite and attentive wish I had got her name, and the food was amazing, first time in Boston will definitely come back. Thank you!
Kat Houliston
I had an amazing time here. The salsiccia was amazing and the staff were very kind and welcoming. It has a cozy relaxed vibe, and I understand why it gets so many good reviews.
Danial Waseem
This place is absolutely amazing- the service, food and restaurant is just great.
We've gotten the Margherita pizza, Sopressata pizza, Fettucinne pasta and Spaghetti shrimp scampi pasta and we loved all of it, hard to pick a favorite but the shrimp pasta and Sopressata pizza truly is unmatchable.
The pizza is super light, airy dough with a great sauce to cheese ratio- I'm talking legit style Neapolitan pizza.
The food comes really fast (less than 10 min) and the whole staff is really nice. The first time we came here we chatted up with the one of Managers I believe and you could tell he genuinely loved the place. He told us about their beautiful wood fired oven and dough recipe.
We now take all our family here and I'm already looking forward to going back.
Angela
The best pizza I’ve had in the US. Reminds me of the pizza I had in Naples. This is our go to pizza place and we bring out of town guests here. Love the pizza and the service. We used to eat onsite but get take out since the start of the pandemic. Fabulous either way. The Soppressata is our favorite but we also enjoy the fresh corn (only available in summer), Salsiccia, Margherita, and Americana. The Uovo is fun but can be a bit heavy, we only order this when ordering a slew of pies for a crowd as I think one slice is enough. The macaroni and cheese (not on the official menu but available upon request) is also fantastic.
Craig Minoff
Very solid Neapolitan style pizza. Epic crust. Mediocre table design
Chris McAlpine
Best Italian food in Boston, including the pricey north-end joints.
Katrina Rivera
We were so hungry, we didn't snap a picture of our pizzas. We were definitely expecting a bigger place BUT the staff was incredibly friendly and the food was delicious.
gcRodas
We ordered one with arugula, mushrooms and garlic. Other with tomato sauce and mozzarella both were very delicious. We are coming back
Tejas Patel
I totally agree with Matthew. Best pizza in town!
Mary Granade
This place was an awesome find- thank goodness for the internet! The food was delicious and the staff was very friendly and accomodating. I had an artichoke pizza with truffle cream sauce and arugula. My son had a shrimp pizza, which was customized for him with spicy peppers! Both were amazing and we had plenty leftover which we thoroughly enjoyed later. I would enthusiastically recommend this restaurant!
Vinayak Mishra
Amazing pizza, some of the best I’ve had in Boston (I’ve only tried like 3 places) good prices as well. Margherita pizza was delicious! Not a lot of seating available.
Adam Gazzola
Campanelle Bolognese is a pleasing twist on an old classic with hints from Portugal..
Rick Centauro
Best pizza in Chelsea and probably in the whole Boston area. I'd highly recommend it to EVERYONE 🤩 …
Pedro Cueva
Best pizza I've had in the area.
Giovanna Martimucci
A small place with big taste!!! Food was excellent great service. Definitely a place to try over and over.
Saber Bahranifard
The best pizza 🍕 around Boston! Super delicious with multiple tasty toppings. My favorite is Fungi but they are all fantastic. Their chicken panini is a must try!
Jose A. Vazquez
This place could easily be among the best in the north end. We’re thrilled we have it right here in Chelsea and we don’t have to fight with the no end tourists to get a high quality meal. We always get the pizza, but today we had a craving for pasta. I am just sorry I waited this long to try theirs. Both the carbonara and the chicken spaghetti were outstanding, bursting with flavor. Easily amongst the best Italian meals I’ve ever had. Seating is limited; so we usually get to go.
David Henderson
Very good pizza. Dining room is in tent like area.
Molly Gross
Fantastic food. Got the uovo pizza And gnochetti and it was the best food I’ve had out in a long time. I can’t wait to return!
Salma Badr
YUMMY ! the pizza dough is so smooth and tastes so different! You must try their mushroom pizza, you can add or remove anything from the pizza toppings. The atmosphere is so cozy and friendly. They have a heated patio ! How cool is that ?! And the hostess was polite and friendly so thanks to her. I liked the short rib pasta. The only con is that they don't have much drinks on the menu. But overall they are a must try and they are becoming one of my favorite spots
Raymond Wong
The best Neapolitan pizzas in the east coast. I live in NYC and always get this when I'm in the Boston area.
Abraham Rosario
Probably the best pizza in the Boston area. Great group of collaborators in the kitchen and front cashier. Prices are affordable and service is superb. Highly recommend this local business and only hope the best for this business and their owners!
+Great beer & wine selection. Desserts are delicious too!
Christina Ricciardelli
It was our first time here, and it is definitely worth the hype... We were greeted immediately by super friendly and informative staff, they could not have been nicer. We ordered two pizzas to go, which were incredible, and since it was our first time they were kind enough to give us two delicious mini cannolis (the filling was AMAZING)! We will definitely be back, thank you!
Paul Kerswill
Gnocchetti - Definitely! Wood fired pizza - you pick, you can't go wrong.
Chris Roy
Very friendly staff, and some of the best pizza I’ve ever had!
Dominic Lopriore
Ciao is delicious. I have been here about three time over the past year, and each time I am impressed. The pizza has a great texture to it and they offer unique topping arrangements. The pasta dishes were properly cooked, and seasoned. The only drawback I can see for this place is the seating options. Indoor is only counter seating and the deck seating is not accommodating of large groups. Other than this, the food is good and the price is right. Go to Ciao.
Liza Henriquez
I LOVE EATING THERE! And they are so friendly & nice! I took my mom on a daughter & mom date and also my service dog 🐕🦺. I recommend it to everybody
Michael Lee
The food was absolutely amazing and fairly priced. Would highly recommend.
John Paulding
No parking but great quick pizza real ingredients!! little pricey but worth it
Alexis Toledo
Hands down, the best pie I've ever had! Ciao Pizza is all about customer service and 5 stars quality food. Went there with high expectations after reading the reviews about this small place under the Tobin Bridge, it was honestly better than I thought. Six hours after eating there and I still remember the flavors in my mouth. I am definitely a fan now.
J.
Consistent quality. The food here is so on point we've made it a family tradition to stop in for lunch every time we land in Boston Logan. Pasta or pizza, you can't go wrong. Gotta have the short run gnocchi.
Michael Stuart
Stayed in a hotel nearby and thought this place would be good... it was!
Brandon Behrens
We are visiting from Boise Idaho and asked some guy on the street where he would eat that's good in the neighborhood. He suggested Ciaos. What a great place to go. They were so friendly and the food was awesome. We actually ate dinner the night before at a restaurant in the heart of Boston and spent a bunch of money. I wish we could go back and instead go to Ciaos. Way better price and way better tasting.
Armando Reyes
Very friendly staff and delicious pizza. The margherita and prosciutto pizza are very flavorsome. Highly recommend!
mariana Lopez :3
Delicious pizza and pasta! The staff were friendly as always. I am always recommending this place to my loved ones.
Dan Hill
I enjoyed my time at this place. The dough is the real star here. It gets a lot of flavor from being wood fired, too. The toppings were okay, if a little scarce on the pizza I got. I feel that the disposable plastic cups and cheap table settings need to be upgraded to something a little nicer, especially considering the price tag on the menu items.
Alyssa Pratt
Tasty food and very attentive service. I definitely plan on coming here again.
Jose
If I could give this restaurant more stars, I would. This place definitely deserves every one of its accolades and in no small part to its exceptional and courteous staff. Every one was hustling but still delivered exceptional customer service, something increasingly rarer here in the Boston area. From the nice and polite young ladies serving us to the guys in the back making the delicious pizzas we ate, everyone was exceptional.
Customer service 1 million stars out of 5. THIS is what makes it worth returning. I really can't stress how nice/courteous everyone was here.
Food 5/5. We had the Americana and Funghi and these were exceptional. The crust was cooked to perfection, the cheese/topping/sauce ratios on point, the ingredients fresh.
Setting/Ambiance 5/5. This place is the smallest, cutest, most quaint and romantic evening setting one could ask for on a casual date with one's loved one. It's not for large parties. There was something incredibly charming about the small space in the back, the nice breeze, and the hostesses turning on the mood lighting in the back. Definitely bringing my boo back here again.
Thank you for making our visit amazing, Ciao! Pizza & Pasta. We are glad we decided to pay this place a visit for amazing pizza with amazing customer service!
Ali & Nic
Delicious food; we had both, pizza and pasta and they were excellent! Service is also great! The only downside is that they don’t have much seating available; also, finding the bathroom could be a little challenging 😉 …
Fredy Hernandez
Pie for one ? Ciao! you did it! thin crust, crispy classic Margherita, delicious!
Roy Blum
This is one of my favorite places in Chelsea and Boston combined.
A fantastic food - great pizza and pastas! Everyone is super friendly and the atmosphere reminds me of some of my favorite spots in Brooklyn, NY. Hopefully we'll see more excellent places like this in Chelsea and Boston soon(!)
Joanne Torosian
Second time getting take out. Pizza and salad good. Prosciutto and Fig, and Shrimp Pizzas both delicious.
Amy Winecoff
Clearly, Ciao need no additional reviews. The pizza is amazing (love the mushroom pizza), and the arugula and pear salad is very refreshing. I know this may be heresy, but the cannoli at Ciao are better than Mike's or Modern Pastry. Exactly the right ratio of filling to shell.
Bethany Moseley
We spent the week in Boston and made a point of going to Ciao! not once but twice. The first time we each chose a pasta dish - all were superb! The second time we all went with pizza. Every one was a winner!
Heather Mack
I dream about their short rib pasta on a regular basis. The best around.
Jordi Segalés
Best pizza in Boston area! Their funghy (mushroom) pizza is the best I ever had. (And I lived in Italy)
The short rib gnochetti are exceptional.
Jared Hall
Best pizza in Boston. Better than Regina, upper crust, and Sal's in my opinion. Authentic neoplolitian style pizza in a real wood oven. Small restaurant with 4 small tables outside and a handful of stools inside. They offer beer and wine to boot. Worth every penny.
Keshane Gan
Funghi pizza is amazing. Once summer comes around and they offer their corn pizza, it's a must-get. Outside of crust is crispy, but the inside is chewy and flavorful with great texture.
Crazy Commercials
Amazing food and great hospitality. We were here from Chicago for work and it exceeded our expectations by far. Our waitress was super friendly and the owner was super awesome. Would recommend to anyone in Boston and would 100% come back for more when I’m back in town.
julio carrera
Very good tasting thin crust Pizza.
Carmen Serradilla
Hidden GEM!!!
This place is absolutely gorgeous. Little hidden gem, superb dishes and quality.
Staff is super nice, it’s always a pleasure staying there for dinner or just simply takeout.
My go-to dish is the Gnoccheti, I have to say, it is my TOP italian dish around any restaurant here in MA. You can tell they always use good quality ingredients, the cheese sauce melts perfectly with the shortrib and vegetable sauce, I even tried to do it at home...but nothing like a gnocchetti from Ciao!!. Pizzas are a 10/10, nice dough and super flavorful mozzarella cheese.
Always a pleasure to support small businesses like Ciao that work hard and offer high quality dishes. Keep up the good work!!!
John Paul
Picked up take out on our way through town. The order was ready when we got there and delicious. Only regrette was not ordering sauce with the garlic bread.
Susan C
A superb little place with excellent staff. Their margarita pizza was amazing and the tiny cannoli were incredibly fresh and delicious. I highly recommend!
ZA
Went here for the first time and it was so good! We got a funghi pizza and gnoccheti, both were delicious. Service was excellent, seating is tight though but any wait is worth it.
Michael Christian
The gnocchetti with short rib is fantastic. Also really enjoyed the Funghi pizza. Haven't had a single thing that I even thought was average. Every item is high quality and very tasty. Don't be afraid to try the Nutella pizza, it's a great dessert
James Aldridge
Wow, this place is a hidden gem. The location is tiny with only ~8 seats. The restaurant is 80% kitchen and 20% seating. The food is best consume on the spot as the pasta and pizza can get a soggy in just 10 minutes. When dining in, the pasta and pizza are top notch. The crust on the pizza is airy and crisp and the sauce consistency and flavor are perfect. I’ve tried nearly the whole menu (the menu is not huge) and have not been disappointed. The prices are a bit on the high side especially given the location, but I think prices are justifed given the quality of the food. I just wish the food traveled better, so I can share exceptional food with friend that don’t have the time to squeeze in.
Michael Cole
Very friendly and warm staff on top of great service and food! I tried the shrimp pizza and gnochetti. Absolutely killed it. Times like these, it is the food and limited social interactions that make or break an experience. Ciao served one of the best experiences I have had in recent memory. Will be back.
srini3000
Great place if you want to learn what service and attitude is along with excellent food. We ordered for a vegetarian pizza which is probably the healthiest and tastiest pizza we have ever had. The Owner's son, all of 16 years was there to help us. It was a great experience overall.
Danille Calvo
I love their pizza, but really I love everything they make!
Jacob Houghton
The best pizza I've had in a long time! The only people in New England that can make a damned Margherita pizza! Their pepperoni pizza is fantastic as well. Music is a little too loud and "hip" for me but with the quality of food and service I can forgive that easily.
Will be back for sure!
Karen Guzman
Every dish I have tried has been delicious! My favorite are the paninis. I love the pollo arrosto and the roasted tomato mozzarella with pesto. I shared the pictures so you can see the goodness of the melted cheese. You must try their homemade cannolis they are the perfect bite size and the cream tastes fresh and delicious. I have tried the gnocchi which is delicious, as well as their fresh thin crust pizza. Also the staff is always super nice and friendly. Highly recommend Ciao! Writing this review made me hungry all over again!
Todo es fresco y delicioso!
Jonathan Rosen
This is the BEST pizza in boston. Fungi pizza is incredible. It is small so you can't really bring a big group but takeout comes out great. I'm originally from the NYC area and it rivals any good pizza there.
Bill Jones
Very fast and friendly service. The pizza we ate was great. Crust was done just right.
Sathwik Mohan Vangari
Excellent Pizzas and Outstanding service. Must try the Nutella pizza if you are ok with sweet pizzas, the mint on it is an artistic touch.
What's great is that the staff check on you and make sure everything is good with you. Must visit.
Jahan M.
Amazing pizza and pasta. Def recommend. Service is fantastic but small dining area so get in early if you wanna grub inside.
Gabrielle Witmer
My husband and I had some time for a quick lunch before heading to the airport to return home, and we picked Ciao! based solely on the fact that it was in the neighborhood. I am so glad we did - it was EXCELLENT. The service was friendly and the food came out quickly. This was one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten - the crust was amazing.
CG
Delicious and so authentic. LOVED the margarita pie. Great pricing!
Candace Ellis
Brought myself and my kids here today...Literally the best pizza I have ever had. The ingredients are fresh and tasty. The manager /owner was so friendly and sweet. He made my children a tasty desert for being Good! Wonderful experience today .Thank you again!
Frank M.
I'm going to generously say this place is extremely dedicated to making the best artisnal pies and pastas.
Just recently my girl and I had the margarita pizza, chicken pesto pizza along with two pastas being short ribs gnocchi and scampi. Top Top shelf establishment and with a friendly staff. Don't worry about paying it's extremely well worth it. I can literally eat everything off this guy's menu. Eat up you will not be disappointed.
Peter Walter
Food was fantastic! We had pizza and two types of pasta, all delicious. Outdoor seating was tight. Will be back next time I am in the area.
Aditya Karandikar
Food: High quality artisan pizza that impresses. Well-prepared with fresh toppings, don't think you can go wrong here.
Service: Pleasant, no complaints.
Atmosphere: Unassuming, small outpost on the street corner. Not a lot of room to sit inside though they have a little pseudo-building attachment that is rustic but well-kept.
Value: Wasn't "cheap" pizza, but the experience certainly justifies the price. Not expensive by any means though as we shared 2 pizzas between 3 people which was plenty of food.
Heather Welch
It's been hard finding a decent pizza place in Chelsea, and I have to say I'm highly impressed with their artisan pizza. Their single pizza is about medium size and has 6 slices. Perfect for 2 with out feeling stuffed! If you're wicked hungry maybe get two or a pasta. We had Funghi pizza and it was very flavorful! We look forward to coming back. Keep doing what you're doing Ciao!
Kim Carroll
Excellent Pizza. I suggest you eat there. Pizza is alot better hot. Their sauce is excellent made for an adult more than young people who prefer their sauce to be sweet. Ciao's food in general is made I think more for an adult pallet but young children love pizza so no worries. Overall, excellent. Nice people, good food, happy crowd. No bad vibes . Definitely deserves a 5 star rating. Enjoy
Lauren A
This was truly one of the best meals i have ever had, The waitress was so kind, the food was so good it was hot and fast and unbelievable . i can truly not recommend this place more.

This is the first review I have ever posted on a restaurant. Everything was delicous, all the staff were incredibly friendly. I could eat here everyday. BEST PIZZA IN THE WORLD
Saulo Silva
This is some of the best pizza in Boston, if you're in one of those 5 hotels that popped up in the last few years in Chelsea or just moved to the area in the midst of a gentrification fueled renaissance you don't need to look far for good pizza, note that these are smaller neopolitan style pizzas, with a good crunch and chew to the crust as well as a bit of char since it's coming from a wood burning oven. The entrees are as phenomenal as the pizzas and amongst the best in the region. The location is small but they try their hardest to accommodate with the limited capacity, definitely not for groups over 4 people, prices are reasonable considering the quality is high
Vannessa Houlihan
Came for a quick late night bite after flying into Logan. The food and experience definitely meet the hype. They were so friendly and the pizza was out of this world! Will make the trip back again from way out of town.
Josh Hoffman
Truly incredible pizza experience. Went with party of 3. Place is tiny so wouldn’t go there with big group. Warmly greeted by personable manager who explained the size and menu options. It appeared everyone working there is Italian for added authenticity. All of us loved our pizzas. Their product is the antithesis of chain restaurants; their ingredients taste Iike they arrived off the boat yesterday and their crust is doughy yet non-greasy. The perfect Neapolitan!
Mike Deroche
This place is unbelievably good. Probably the best pizza I've ever had.
It's perfect.
The prosciutto di parma pizza was so good it almost gave me an existential crisis. From the first bite, your day just gets so much better.
The prosciutto and the soft crust is salty and savory, and the fig jam balances it out so perfectly with a subtle sweetness. The margarita was just as impressive. A classic pizza, executed perfectly.
The staff were fantastic. Extremely polite, helpful, and welcoming. I felt bad that I couldn't tip: seems like their credit card system doesn't allow it. I'll definitely bring cash next time!
Sean S
Best pizza in Massachusetts! Hands down. The place is a small little Italian pizzeria doing personal pies. It fills up quick but can always take to go and the addition of the outdoor seating is great for the summer. I recommend this to everyone. My go to is the fungi pizza
Dimitri Kritikos
I’ve been coming here every week for the past two years since moving to East Boston. I’ve had Santarpios (greasier cheesier pizza), Pizzeria Regina (very heavy, thick pizza), and all the famous New Haven spots. This pizza is by far the best of all of these , and worthy of their top ten restaurants ranking on Yelp. Pizza is not too heavy, not too light, and the paninis are right up there too. Highly recommend, and will continue coming here. To top it off, the staff and the owner Edson are some of the friendliest people I’ve met, always with a smile on their face. Very warm and welcoming place
River Gallagher
Fennel sausage pizza was superb! Dough was flavorful and soft. Def ranks on top of the best pizzas I’ve had. Bravo!
Sharon Fosbury
The food here is amazing! Their pasta, pizza, paninis and salads are just better than everyone else's. In addition to their great food, their customer service is top notch. Edson and Marvin always go out of the way to make you feel welcome. There are two outdoor eating spaces, both well maintained and inviting.

In town for one night for work and needed to pick something to take back to my hotel to finish up some work. I ordered the Sopressata pizza, an arugula salad, and a mini cannoli. All were delightful! The pizza was perfectly oven baked and crisp, the ingredients were fresh, and the combination was delicious. I ordered online (super easy) and picked up in store. The order was ready when I arrived. Would recommend!

Best pizza ever! If going to Boston... Do try!
Brooklyn Schneider
Everything that I ate here was just amazing. The pizza is real, authentic, and just astounding. The different kinds of pizza are unique. Little building for big taste. Only about a 25 min walk from our airbnb that felt good after 9 hours of driving. Great customer service. Heard they are opening another building and im so happy for them
Zepure Talar Ajoyan
If you want real, fresh, good quality, old country Italian flavor, please eat here. The pasta dishes and pizzas are amazing. A touch pricy, but worth the price for the quality and portion sizes. I can't afford it every night, but it's a great weekly or monthly dinner.
Maria Ussaeva
Absolutely great place! We tried everything from pizza, panini, pasta to deserts. It's very hard to find such place in Boston that have that Italian taste. Food is very delicious, I would recommend this place to everyone. We were here on Tuesday afternoon, but I know that it can get busy during the rush hours. Also, there are no many seats, so better to come during weekdays afternoons.
Kristina Zakirova
Omg! This is a gem! I have heard of ciao pizza but never went in and today I stopped by and it is 1) the best pizza ever ( I got mushroom), 2) the best staff working ( a very pleasant girl just nicely convinced me to buy a whole pizza by saying it is made quickly and it was made under 5 minutes!!!) . Totally suggested!!!
Kegham Sherikian
The Best Pizza & Pasta dishes! Our host Jennifer was above & beyond. Highly recommended.
Seraphina
The chef is a genius. The kitchen is immaculate with swift service, reasonably priced, great atmosphere. The owner is on top of his game and the staff is very kind and attentive. Thanks Ciao!
Amir Yosef
Pizza is excellent, as close as it gets to authentic Italian pizza.
Problem is with parking and seats which are limited, and the ambiance which is not the best. I would have the pizza to go, but not to dine-in.
David Broome
I had my first pie here after being let out of jury duty early. My wife suggested that I immediately make my way over as they had just opened at 11am, so I hopped the street from Chelsea Courthouse and ordered myself a Margarita Pizza add Pepperoni. Pipping hot & fresh out of the wood fired oven, this is how pizza should be eaten. It was more than enough for a lunch, even having skipped breakfast, but I finished it anyway, it was that delicious. Simple good fresh ingredients made this pie a treat. The crust was a good thickness & crispiness thanks to the oven & the the sauce stayed out of the limelight, accenting & enhancing the featured toppings. I'd recommend you EOS (eat on site) as the smaller size of the pie would quickly cool below perfect temp. There's not a lot of seating, but it's a quick bite & they do serve drinks including sparkling juices, beer & even espresso shots (or maybe that was just for the kitchen). Great service with a friendly smile invites conversation & made the overall experience charming. Highly recommend you sit for a pie at this locally owned neighborhood pizza stop. I know I'll be back!
Soap bou
Best wood fire pizza in Massachusetts! You don't believe me? Try it! Haven't tried their homemade pasta, but I'll be back for sure. Very small restaurant, I'd suggest going on a nice day to order take out and eat it outside. Located right across from Chelsea court on the backside on Dunkin donuts.
John Reese
I love their pasta and pizzas.
I can really tell they care about their food and their customers satisfaction.
Food and service are excellent.
I recommend it to anyone stopping through Chelsea.
I only wish it was a bit bigger with more seating.
They are doing everything right and deserve five stars out of five.
Alicia Pinsonneault
Too many wonderful things to say about the establishment-the pizza...hands down, best I've ever had. Every single time, I'm floored. The fungi pizza is my favorite right along with the welcoming and genuine staff. It's a bonus that they deliver down the street to mystic brewery for pizza and beer nights! Thanks guys!
E C
The pizza is amazing, and so are the pasta dishes! I only gave it a 4 because There's not a lot of tables where to enjoy your meal. The deserts are not as Wow as the food. The quality of the pastas and pizzas is very authentic to the pasta and pizza you get in Naples, Italy. I know because I lived in Italy for years.
Susan Gallant
This was my first time ordering online from Ciao. I ordered the Mac and Cheese Chicken. It was incredibly busy in there which was great but when i opened my order at my office, there was plenty of mac and cheese but no chicken. It was delicious but paid the extra to have the chicken on it. Not a great first impression of online ordering...
Garrett Hogan
Not sure if I can add much more than hasnt already been said in the other reviews. The pizza is just fantastic and definitely one of my top 3 favorite pizza places aside from Pepe’s and the OG Regina’s. The ingredients are always very fresh and high quality. You cannot go wrong with the pasta either, it’s also delicious. I highly recommend the Campanelle.
Jahaira
This is the best pizza I ever had!
And the desert was so delicious!
The owner is an absolute sweetheart, and the cooks are so kind.
Honestly I don't usually write reviews but it was such a wonderful experience that I just had to share.
Thank you! 😀
Youngmin Yoon
Dare I say, best pizza in Boston? They have the classics as well as their own pizza creations, all of which you can tell have great fresh ingredients and lots of thought into making great flavor combinations. My favorite is the truffle funghi pizza. And their pastas are all properly al dente and delicious. Make sure to order the cannolis for dessert. Gourmet food at a modest price is the icing on the cake!
Brittney Davidson
Decided to stop by on a whim and it was the best decision we’ve made! Tried the margarita pizza and gnocchetti and both a 10/10! The gnochhetti is a must.
Kevin Daniels
My favorite pizza in the Boston area. The crust is light and airy and the toppings they put on it really pop with flavor. I recommend the Uovo or Guanciale pizza, but that's probably because I haven't tried the others yet. This place is very small and cozy and the staff is beyond friendly and welcoming.
Edwin Cintron
Not my first time there definitely not my last. Today I placed an order over the phone and unfortunately I don't know the menu...yet....I ordered what I thought was my wife's favorite witch is a fettuccini with a truffle butter.... well I ended up ordering a pizza when I return to explain my mistake they were more than happy to fix my mistake at no cost thank you guys from the Fonseca Cintron (Fotron) family and Happy New year 🎉🎊
Tony Babecka
Always a favorite place! The pizza is delicious, but everything else we have tried had been fantastic too. Very limited outdoor seating {mostly to go place}, but otherwise a great spot.
Vladimir Dasic
Unfortunately I didnt take any photos, we were in a rush, but I have to leave a review for two reasons:
- Staff is incredibly friendly, helpful, with a great attitude. Service was fast!
- Food is great. They have many different options to suit your taste.
Will definitely be visiting again!
Sunlight Premier, Inc.
The pizza was excellent and the owner was very nice!! I liked it so much I had to take one back to California for my wife to taste. They preped it and wrapped it up with instructions on how to enjoy at home she loved it as well. It was thin and had great flavor.
Terri Walter
Margarita pizza was fresh, stretchy flavorful crust. Fucilli primavera veggies were crisp and fresh, arugula and pear salad light and delicious. We'll be back!!
Duncan MacLeod
Best pizza and pasta in the greater Boston area. You may hesitate to get the braised beef Gnochetti due to it's $18 price but it's 100% worth it. All of the pizza is also insanely fresh and flavorful. Also get the cannolis with every order, they're awesome.
Ninad Trifale
The best pizza I have had. The crusts are thin, the sauce is great, the cheese is phenomenal. The staff was kind enough to ‘make’ room and create an extra table so that we wouldn’t have to wait.
Rachel
cozy little pizza place (slightly limited in seating, but that's what makes it a bit more intimate/unique). I love the wood-fired ovens and how you can see & smell them as soon as you walk in. absolutely fantastic pizza and super friendly staff as well :)
Frank Velasquez
Amazing service. Great choices for all types of foodies. To my meat lovers, I reccomend going into the land of veggies for this place. The Fungi pizza is the best pizza I've ever had.
Come hungry, leave happy.
mike cramer
We were in Chelsea to see a show and looked at the map to find a place to eat. Ciao's is unimposing from the outside, but it may be the best pizza we have ever eaten. Perfectly cooked thin crust, ample and delicious toppings, and friendly, prompt service made for a very pleasant experience.
Bram Warrick
We were new in town and had just gotten into Logan. Traffic was horrible and we wanted to kill some time...
Food was good, service was friendly and helpful. Not a lot of seating, especially if the weather is bad and no one wants to sit outdoors.
Their gnoccetti is a definite recommended dish, in my opinion, but no one in the party was disappointed.
Eddie Wellington
I went to Ciao Pizza with a friend and we enjoyed every minute! The staff service was on point and friendly. My friend and I liked the intimate setting there. It's a place to consider if you're going out on a date.
Matthew Koral
The pizza crust was amazingly soft (not doughy) yet crispy and the toppings were very unique. I ordered the proccuito di Parma w/ port and fig jam. My roommate had the chicken, bacon, pesto. We finished both before leaving, they were so good.
Dan Villegas
I always have a lovely time here. We keep coming back because the people and food are beautiful. We always get the campanelle pasta and some form of pizza. Be it the ovu, or Americana, or the dessert Nutella fruit pizza (which is decadent) you're sure to find a flavor that fits what you love. Dining in, the service couldn't really be better. Considering how small the place is, there is a personal touch you won't find other places. The design is dark, but not too much and small lights give it charm and warmth. Good music playing while you stuff yo face. Online order is available which I utilize quite often. More often than I should when I look at my tummy. But I can't stop. Can't recommend enough, as my order is always correct, quick, and delicious. Will update if my experience changes.
Hiffa Faves
Ciao's salsiccia pizza is, hands down, one of the best pizzas I've ever eaten. Everything is fresh and made from scratch in the kitchen, including the pasta. Service is quick and friendly. A real hidden gem, just outside Boston and close to the airport/Tobin Bridge. Highly recommend the salsiccia and prosiutto di parma pizzas, the bucatini and gnocchetti pastas, and the arugula salad.
Emily Van Heukelom
Best people, best pizza. Amazing thin crust. Eat inside and watch all the action by the pizza oven, or sit outside on the lovely enclosed porch area. Funghi pizza and nutella dessert pizza ESPECIALLY highly recommended. They also have seasonal specials which are delightful. The owner is always around and really involved. The young lady at the counter is a sweetheart. Ciao is awesome!!
Mary Leach
Food was great! Everything we got tasted incredible. Pizza, pasta, garlic bread, and mousse were all so good we can’t wait to go back!
Alvin Phillips
Great food, very nice people! They help me with the menu and had a little conversation and really treated a southern boy good. Definitely would come back if I was in the area. Chicken pesto and bacon pizza 😋 …
Eutaw Street
Amazing from welcoming atmosphere, to polite staff and quality of food. We truly enjoyed our visit and felt very welcome. We felt like we discovered a hidden gem - something out of Park Slope or North End.
Angela Cruz
Shrimp pasta, Shrimp pizza, and the chicken Panini were excellent! If we were locals we would order again.
Laura Sternberg
The best neapolitan pizza I've ever had. Garlic bread and pastas are so delicious. Quality of ingredients is far superior to any other pizza shop I've been to in the Boston area.
Thomas Pag
Wicked awesome place! Skip going to papa ginos and come to Ciao! The staff is on another level as far as excellent service, attentiveness, extremely friendly. The staff and this place are superior to any service I have ever received! Will definitely be going back here. Highly recommend 👌! …
Abood Alhadidi
Delicious food. Unique taste. You MUST TRY IT. Good vibes.
Michael Reynolds
Ciao was such a great restaurant! We had a great meal for my father’s birthday. Our server Joselyn was an absolute sweetheart! She suggested we try the gnocchetti which was delicious and she even helped my father into and out of his seat, as he struggles from time to time at his age. Exceptional service! Will be coming back!
Ro Capo
Incredible and authentic Margherita pizza and fungi linguini. Seating is extremely limited, so be prepared to wait — it’s worth it. The parking, however, is non-existent. Available On street parking is minimal at supper time, but it’s worth wasting your gasoline if you have patience. Loved it.
Jason Puchades
Best people, pasta and pizza you can find in Boston!!! BE AWARE that the place only have 6 bar stools and gets busy, so not a place to hang out or enjoy a relaxing dinner, unless you find a table in their cute little terrace when weather allows so. The good thing is that the kitchen does not close.
Andy
Great pizza and pasta dishes. Funghi and Margherita pies bursts with flavor. Gnocchi with braised beef is just delicious.
Bria Yazic
This place has some of the kindest staff I have ever met. They are sweet, attentive, and know the food well. A local gem, be sure to check it out!
Mossimo
The service was great and the pizza was amazing. Wish I knew this place existed the last time I was here. The difference in types of pizzas and yet all amazing in their own way makes for a definite stop when in Boston.
Elie Nass
Best Pizza in Boston, maybe even in the country. Amazing customer service, amazing food, nice music and that’s what life is about. Gave us beautiful canolis ......... for FREE. Highly recommend and will come back when I’m in Boston again. If I could give 6 stars I would
Ryan
Chelsea is a growing food staple close to the city. Ciao is some of the best pizza around. It will give any place you can name in the north end a run for its money....and will probably be tastier than most. Go by grab a pizza and enjoy.
Joe Ahlert
The pizza was very good and the service was polite and attentive. I'm from NY and we are kind of pizza snobs. We were very happy with the pizza.
Martin Flansbury
First time and will be returning. Tried the Margherita pizza, spaghetti shrimp scampi and gnochetti. Pizza crust was perfect. Sauce was clean, fresh tomato and basil. Scampi was excellent but the gnochetti dish was to die for.
Roderick Caruso
Ciao! Serves delicious artisan neopolitan style pies for about $16 per pizza. They make some traditional pizzas like margarita, pepperoni and sausage, with a few of their own creations like a breakfast pizza and a Nutella pie with fruit (plus rotating specials). They also serve pasta, beer, and wine and have outdoor seating. People who live in the neighborhood love Ciao! because it is excellent quality food and the price is right. If you eat here, you'll definitely be coming back. Also see the owners other places in the neighborhood, Winnisimmet Lounge and Ciao Market.
Nat Taylor
I consider Ciao's pizza to be in a different, better category than other pizza which I also enjoy but often think of as melty cheese on sauced bread. Unlike other pizza that's good after 5-minutes, 50-minutes, 5-hours or 5-days, Ciao's pizza is best enjoyed as soon as possible after it comes out of the oven--when everything is just right. It's just that good!
Blimp Racer
Everything about this place is great. The food is fresh and th portions are generous. The atmosphere is lively and service was personal and on point. I only wish they had more seating. You're limited to roughly 10 seats inside, but this doesnt deserve a point deduction considering how great everything else is. It appears that they only deliver to Mystic Brewery.
Fernando Velazquez
Great pizza, and amazing service. I got to try the Ovuru, which I highly recommend. Perfect crust and great ingredients, basil grown by them.
Haley Oller
This might just be the best pizza place in all of Greater Boston. You absolutely have to try the gnocchetti. Everything on the menu is amazing, but the gnochetti is really something special. And the people are always so friendly and welcoming on a level that you never see in restaurants.
Lindsay Montgomery
My boyfriend and I tried Ciao for the first time last night. The food was excellent — we had the herbed gnocchetti pasta and funghi pizza. The ingredients were fresh, delicious and plentiful. It seems as though they pay attention to every detail at Ciao and genuinely care about their customers having a great meal. The service and environment is also friendly and inviting. We took our food to go, but there are a few seats in the front if you don't mind getting a little cozy. There is plenty to choose from on the menu and it's fairly priced for the quantity and quality. If you are thinking about trying Ciao, please do yourself the favor! We're already looking forward to going back.
Obed Diaz
Shrimp Scampi! Just trust me. Best around by far. Won't be anything like that Bertuccis taste that we're all so sick of.
Anthony Forlizzi
I could eat ciao everyday and not get sick of it. High end restaurant quality pasta in a quick serve setting and some of the best pizza you'll ever have. Worth a drive if you don't live nearby.
Krissy Byrnes
Best pizza place in town! Never had a bad meal ever. It doesn't matter what you order, it will be delicious. A true gem of Chelsea!
Pete L
Drove 40 minutes from the suburbs to check this place out and try the Mystic Brewery also.
We had no idea where in Chelsea we would end up, The neighborhood is bordering on industrial and beginning of residential. Was there Sat night around 7 pm. Completely safe area. No concerns going there.
We were pretty excited they even had a small parking lot on the property so we pulled in and there was a spot with our name on it right there. Parking - no issue.
Walked into the place - very small - 4-5 seats at 2(?) bars. Not much inside seating. It was a beautiful night (first one in May it seems this year) and they had 4-5 outdoor tables on the deck so we ordered inside and then sat on the deck for the food to be brought out.
Ordered Margherita pizza and porcini fettuccine. The food was outstanding. The pasta was $12 and would be $25 at a north end or back bay Italian restaurant and was as good as you would get anywhere paying the $25. Simply the best quality and value food you will get anywhere.
And - to make it an even better experience, the co-owner, Edson, stopped by to chat with us...So we learned the story of the place and why the food was so great - because of his and the chef's commitment to food quality. He was a great guy and a real asset to the Chelsea community. Just A+ dude. I am so happy they are successful and look forward to their other locations they have in the works.
Well worth the ride from Boston over to Chelsea to check this place out.
Ryan Wetzel
Fire pizza! Keep it simple and about the ingredients. Perfect char on dough. They do it right.
Cecilia Zavala
Let me just say , their POLLO ARROSTO is BY FAR the best panini I have ever had in my life. A life changing experience. And their homemade chips? Where do I even begin??? Ciao hands down has the best Italian food I have ever had in my life. So much so that I'm even writing a review for it.
John McCarthy, D.C.
Delicious wood fire pizza, great hospitable service. Highly recommend for an enjoyable experience.
Bria Feist
Food was fresh and delicious! Got the Americana! Being a Chicago Native my opinion matters!!!
Tommy Vo
best pizza and pasta ever. i prefer the pizza over santarpios. parking can be somewhat challenging. be sure to bring cash to tip the waitress because they do not let you tip on credit card.
Andrew Aue
It’s a small place but the manager at the front was super sweet and the pizza was amazing. Very well run place and delicious pizza. We try pizza in every city we visit and this one has been our tops so far.
Monica Wang
Pizza as good as they make it in Napoli. Top notch service where they treat you like a friend. I've tried all of them and there should be something to appeal to everyone's tastes, unless you're gluten-free--in which case, stay far far away.
Danny D
I'm so lucky to have this place just a couple blocks away. Everything I've had here was clearly made with love, the service is amazing. How awesome would life be if everyone tried at least half as hard as they do?!
Steven Beadles
Some of the best food I have had in Boston in a very long time. Salad was dressed perfectly it was a balsamic vinegrette. Not. Over powering with vinegar . Pizzs was thin crisp with fresh mozzarella fresh basil. Squash papparadelle homemade with a sauce of squash pork belly sage tender bits of succulant roasted chicken in a demi glace . Perfrct amount of sauce and melding of flavors. Definatly my new favorite Italian restaurant in the area . Only complaint its chairs are kind of uncomfortable . But worth it for great food at a reasonable price.
Service was very friendly and accomidating.
Sandro Frattura
This place just opened last week. It is the real thing!
I was born in Italy -- and I have been back a dozen times, so I know what pizza from Naples is like. This place makes REAL "Napoletan" pizza.
It is thin, and has fresh incredients (great house-made sauce. Real blobs of Mozzarella -- not the processed grated cheese-blend that EVERY pizzeriea gets from Sysco). The wood oven gives the pizza crust a great flavor and texture!
I also had a very nice Arugala Salad with pear slices. Very yummy also!
They have no seating, but there is a counter for maybe 4 people.
My ONLY criticism of the pizza is that the crust, while delicious, was a not QUITE crispy enough. I was there on their second day after opening -- so maybe they will get that right going forward. But it was a 9 on a scale of 1 to 10 for sure!
Derek Krater
Pizza is common and uncommon...it can be select or available. Then toppings; we all have our favorite toppings. So what about Ciao!? This is the best wood fired pizza around Boston. Quality ingredients and skilled hands make up every dish. Pasta or pizza, come visit Little Napoli in Chelsea, MA; I don't think there is anything on the menu not worth having.
My recommendations are the Mac and cheese off menu with bacon and my favorite pizzas are the pollo arrosto add onions or the Americano add cherry peppers!
Kurt Kaiser
Perfect. Pizza was delicious. The crust. The. Crust. The service was outstanding. They went out of their way to make sure we enjoyed the food. Thank you Ciao, it was a tasty and fun evening.
Robert Saccardo
Crazy Quality Pizza and Pasta. Excellent service
Meline Gasparyan
This is my new favorite place to eat in Boston. We shared the arugula salad and the sopressata pizza- it was one of the best meals
I’ve ever had. I can’t wait to visit them again.
Kaitlyn Fabre
Definitely not a place to be sitting down and eating at right now (its very small inside) but the food is amazing. My go-to for anything remotely Italian. If you’re in the area you have to try it.
Matthew McComb
Ciao! Pizza and Pasta is incredibly good. This is some of the best pizza and pasta in all of greater Boston. It is worth a trip to Chelsea just to get their food. Ciao exceeded all of my expectations. Everyone that works there is very friendly and welcoming. Everything is prepared with the greatest care and attention to taste. I can't get enough of the short rib herbed gnocchetti and the funghi pizza.
Suren Moodliar
Great oven made to order, served quickly
Sandra Castillo
Fresh made pasta! Brick oven pizza! Have a glass of wine or beer, Perfection! Be ready for an experience! Small and intimate be ready to make friends. Edson is the best at making you feel right at home. Worth the trip to Ciao!!!
Maria Doolittle
Wow! Awesome pizza!!! Caesar salad was really good to. Our waitress was so friendly and helpful👍👍 We will definitely be back😊 …
Robert Crawford
There is an obvious dedication and love of purpose that is clearly the central ingredient in all of their amazing creations. Absolutely outstanding in every respect. A Bostonian culinary institution in its own right.
Renee Letkiewicz
The staff is very friendly, welcoming, and hospitable! (Especially the counter girl) who answered all our questions and gave delicious recommendations! Pizza is very tasty! You won't be disappointed!
Lucia Villanueva
VERY good pizza! Seating is limited and mostly outdoor, but if you want to pick up, they do very quick service.
Excellent staff.
Brenlie Ramos
It was my first time trying and the service was very quick and attentive. I ordered the gnocchi pasta and the margarita pizza. Both really good!
Daniel Batten
My wife and I split a pizza while visiting mystic brewery just down the road. Great pizza! Just enough lunch for two with great service (super fast delivery by the owner!). Would get this again!
Austin Tierney
Wow, what a great pizza - that wood fired crust makes the difference here, and it's on a different tier compared to the rest. Unique combinations of toppings give the pizza some real character as well.
Gurpinder Singh Dhillon
Amazing little pizza place with great service! Their pizzas are by far one of the best ones with authentic and new innovative options. The corn and zucchini pizza is definitely worth a try.
Brian Eliason
Small on size, big on heart. Been coming to Boston for years and always compared every thing to Giacomos. Ciao! is actually smaller in size, but makes up for it in quality and delicious dishes and very friendly staff. Can't wait to go back.
Sel. Song
Hands down the best pizza in Massachusetts. I’ve been coming to this place past few years.
greg hakala
Great margherita pizza.
Rachel Green
My fiancé and I shared the herbed gnocchetti and the sopresata pizza. It was absolutely the best pizza I've had in Boston! Edson and the lady who served us were very friendly and welcoming. Definitely going to be a regular here!
A Pascu (A Pascu)
Such a delicious hidden gem that has amazing wood even pizza and home made pastas to die for. Also, a big thank you to the staff for being so amazing and heartwarming every single time we come around. Can’t wait to to come back!
Joey Doane
Excellent pasta! Building is pretty small so you may be waiting for a seat. Tiramisu was incredible and the service was top notch. Highly recommend!
Sabino Fernandes
Whenever I work in Chelsea I make it a priority to get a box or 2 of some vegan pizza. The best I've ever had !
M
Wonderful food they are the best of the best. Wish there was more parking and places to sit. Waitstaff is very friendly and so are the cooks and chefs. Went once and I will definitely be going back
Jaime Smith
All the staff are incredibly friendly. The food is pretty good...But to bad it wasn't a bit bigger inside because the set up of the restaurant is really nice!
Karen Johnson
Just visiting the area and decided to try ciao’s. It is amazing!! My whole family enjoyed it. We tried a pizza, panini, salad and pasta.
Claudio Toro
My favorite pizza place ever. Beyond being the best pizza in Boston, they are super friendly and community-driven. It's a must whenever anyone visits us.
Rebekah Fleming
Absolutely awesome! Great music and the best pizza. We got the Pollo Arrosto and it was perfect.
Carles Esteve Costa
Best Italian food I have had in the USA by far
CJ Leong
The pizza and pasta were absolutely delicious! Food is fresh and not made in advance! Staff warm and friendly! Owner was so personable!
Jack Lathrop
We got the Americana and the Sopressata pizzas they were both incredible.
Aqua Appliance
Amazing pizza. Naralin at the front desk is amazing. Also try the pasta!
Cnorris
Been all around the world tasting pizza. I can safely say these guys are in the top 10 and probably one of the top 3 pizzas in Boston. Superb Neapolitan thin crust wood fired pizza.
Richard Bowman
Fantastic, Great people, very welcoming and generous. Pizza was very good and fast. Not a lot of seating or parking but still well worth the trip.
Hitesh Patel
Best pizza ever and the service was top notch the owner Edson went above and beyond to accommodate our party of 14 people ...highly recommend!!!
Courtney Villon-Maga
Oh my goodness, SO SO SO good. I convinced my stubborn girlfriend to give this a try instead of our usual Santarpio's run because I had been curious about it for a while and had heard good things. She begrudgingly agreed and we ordered the short rib gnocchetti and the funghi pizza. OH MAN. Both were phenomenal: the gnocchetti--perfectly cooked with a nice creamy sauce that mixed nicely with the wine-braised short rib, AMAZING; the pizza--a perfect crust, both chewy and with a nice char and with really fresh tasting ingredients on top, finished with that truffle oil man. And the best part? Getting to subtly rub it in my girlfriend's face that I was right, and she, wrong. Haha no but seriously, this is some of that good, good, you know? And we will soon be trying ERRTHANG on that menu. To be continued...

This pizza is the best pizza I’ve ever had outside of Italy! If you want to eat pizza that’ll absolutely blow you away then take the ride to Chelsea and see for yourself! Best pizza outside of Naples!
Patsy Dahlinghaus
Got to sit at the counter and everything was great. Food delicious and the service was friendly and very welcoming. It is small and most customers do take out. Our party of 4 will be back again.

Can only give this 3 stars due to Covid-19. Food and service was great but the tables on the porch (enclosed with plastic for the cooler weather) were too close for comfort for me. Best for takeout.
Chris Falcos
Best pizza I've had in ages. They have really great flavor combinations that makes me want to try all the different pizzas they have
Carl Rizzo

Both owners are very nice and for such a small place they make some really amazing food. I highly recommend them. Not only do they have some great Pizza pie but they also serve some great salads, pasta and desserts.

This little hole in the wall puts out some of the best Neapolitan style pies around. There isn't much seating but if you can grab a seat, the service is nice and the food amazing!
Kim Pisani
Delicious pizza, salad, and cannolis!! Wonderful service and I loved the outdoor seating. I will definitely go back.
Axel Ringwood
This was (Chris Traeger voice) *literally* the best pizza I've ever had in my life. If you ever have the opportunity to go here please do, and don't just order one pizza, get two of different flavors.

Phenomenal pies. Their garlic bread is excellent, as well. The staff is always friendly, and service is quick.
Kevin Shoe
Ciao! Has very delicious food for reasonable prices. However it is small and they can pack people in. Half of it is sort of outside so it can get cold. There's some parking right next to it.
