I really don't wanna rate these guys with five stars. It's just a poke bowl, for crying out loud. But they probably deserve it. I'm not a regular here, but I dine here occasionally when in town for work. It's dependably satisfying. Splendid, really. Their combinations work. The blue rice is fun. The staff are always pro. The decor is on point. The music they play even hits the right notes to accompany your dining experience. And that's just it...when all the little details add up, it's amazing.

Really great poke spot. Ingredients are fresh and they give a solid amount with each poke bowl. We ordered the paddles up original (added a few additional toppings) and the fiesta bowl. Fish is fresh with great flavor. Highly recommend stopping here for a healthy lunch or dinner!

If you haven't been to Paddles Up Poke yet - I'm sorry you're living under a rock. Just kidding! But seriously, you need to swing by and treat yourself. I've been here on two different occasions while visiting and it has quickly become a staple of every trip to Boise. It's hard to find quality fish in a landlocked state & Paddles Up has got it right. My boyfriend's go-to menu option is the Bogus Bowl. I always opt to build my own bowl - it usually involves the Blue Rice & Traditional Poke with a bunch of other fun stuff mixed in. This time around, I also had salmon, ginger, kim chee, edamame, avocado, green onions & a wasabi drizzle. Is it a little more expensive than your average build and go food spot? At about $15-$17 per person, I'd say probably. Although, in today's economy, you can end up spending way more than that at a fast food joint. And Paddles Up is so worth it. Just take my word for it and thank me later.

Food tastes fresh, friendly fast service, restaurant is clean. Been here several times and the food and service have been consistently good. If you're new to poke the options can be overwhelming. On my first visit I asked an employee for a recommendation for a newbie and it was great. Since then I've tried most of the menu items and I've figured out what works for me and what doesn't. The downtown Nampa location is our most frequented but I can also recommend the downtown Boise location too. Outdoor seating provides good people watching.

A true Poké gem in the heart of downtown. If you like sushi then you will love poke. The staff is always kind and the ingredients extremely fresh. 12 dollars for a medium bowl may seem expensive, but for the amount of fish/crab/etc it is so worth it. My personal favorite is the Fiesta bowl with no ginger and adding the spicy Wasabi cream sauce over sushi rice. Don't forget to Sriracha for an added kick.

when we go in-person, the experience is always wonderful and the staff members are really nice. When we get delivery through Uber Eats, or similar, an item off our order always gets forgotten and we have to issue a refund through the app. It's dissapointing that we don't always get the food we ordered.

We came to Paddles Up when it first opened and we're so impressed. When we knew we'd be back in the area, it was literally the first stop we made for lunch! If you love sushi, seafood, or even a good rice bowl, you will leave full and happy.

Super fresh food with super flavorful bites. However I would only recommend this place to someone who likes raw fish. If you don't like raw fish you will certainly hate it. I got the bogus basin. It was delicious and I will return.

Tried this place for lunch with some friends. I had a build your own bowl with chicken, brown rice, zoodles, with spicy sauce and all the veggies. I was impressed with the freshness of the ingredients. The food was delicious and I liked all the options for customizing to your individual taste. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. My friends each got the Bronco bowl and they both enjoyed their meal and commented the tuna was fresh and yummy. Cons: -They serve everything in plastic, have plastic utensils, and have plastic water cups...even if you’re dining in. Enough said. -I felt like it was pretty expensive for the small portions of food you get. I got a small bowl, which was $12 ($10 for the bowl, plus tip and tax). I had complimentary water. I left the restaurant feeling a bit hungry. I could have gotten a medium or large for $2 more for each increased size, but that seemed like a lot to spend for lunch, not including chips or a drink. If they made a lunch special for $10 that included a bowl, side, and drink, I would be inclined to come back more often.

These People are very attentive and i am adjusting my rating to a 5 start because of that. I believe an individual star rating system doesn't allow for caveats during the visit. I would rate this a 4.75 because I went specifically for the clam chowder Bowl of which i called about ahead of time and they were out of it and instead claimed to have a clam and fish chowder. So while I was ordering my California Invasion poke they took down the sign but did not put up a sign for the fish chowder. This was my first time and the Poke was good and actually a little bit better than expected but I still missed out on the chowder. This is only offered in the downtown store so I can't go to the other store to get one. I do recommend this place because it is delicious it looks like everything is fresh and the employees are friendly and very family-friendly. Service 5 star Food 5 star Menu expectation 4.5 star (specials not shown on website)

I came here in small business Saturday and they had free beer with the purchase of one of their bowls! The service and good was spectacular. If you like sushi then I would recommend poke which is kind of like a big bowl of sushi. Their tuna and salmon were delicious and tasted very fresh compared to other sushi places I've tried down town. I had the bogus basin bowl and I asked to make it spicy which turned out really good. I recommend trying the zucchini noodles and rice as your base, the "zoodles" added great texture. I will definitely return here.

Absolutely amazing!! Wife and I tried it for the first time 7/19 and it was fantastic! We got 3 small bowls so we could try different things a paddles up with zoodles, fiesta with white rice, and a sun valley with brown rice. My wife loved the sun valley however it was my least favorite; my favorite was the fiesta but wish I would've done zoodles and then the paddles up. We split the paddles up as we both enjoyed it. I also had a throw line from powderhaus which is always good. The service was pretty good too took them a min to get from back of house but nothing crazy. Highly recommended.

By far my favorite place in town for healthy, fresh food that’s unique and extremely tasty! Bogus Basin and the Fiesta are my favorite but make both of them as spicy as I can. Owner is doing a great job and really shows through the consistency in the quality. Hoping for one closer to me off ten mile!

The young man who welcomed us on our first visit and taught us about the menu boards was a delight. So friendly and genuinely cared about our experience there, as a college student he (his name stated with a D) has worked there for a couple years and it is as apparent he enjoys his work. He encouraged us to read the story of how and why the restaurant was started and we are glad he did, a great story about chasing your dreams, stewarding what you have with excellence and how it paid off. I absolutely love this place. I've been going here ever since the owner came in to our Entrepreneurship class at Boise State and spoke to us about his business. I just visited the downtown location and noticed they raised their prices quite a bit. The medium fiesta bowl is now $15 without tip. The original $12 price point was a little high, but for the quality of food you're getting, was reasonable. This is now comparable to a sit down restaurant and exceeds a casual lunch spot price point in my opinion. I'd rather go to a cheaper spot twice, like Costa Vida, than this place once. I unfortunately won't be returning until their prices are lowered again. Edit: Sorry about hanging up, Dan. I got back to the office and couldn't talk on the phone. I appreciate you reaching out to me and clarifying the logistics of this decision. I definitely want to support this business and I will definitely be returning, just not as frequently for now. Your quality of food is much higher than any other downtown lunch spot and I didn't mean to infer Costa's bag prepped meat was a direct substitute to your poke bowls. Costs have gone up for everyone. While I'd love to support your business every day of the week, it's just not as affordable for me either. Though, I will certainly be returning when I can. I'm updating this from a 3 star to a 5 star review based on your excellent customer service and taking the time to talk with me. Not every restaurant deserves 5 stars, Paddles Up Poke does. A lot of attention to detail goes into the food, it’s very throughly crafted, fresh, flavorful and employees are always super friendly and happy to accommodate. + It’s locally owned and operated. Even pick up and delivery options are on point. Only negative is sometimes portions size can inconsistent. (Can be a good or bad thing depending the on the day 😆 lol) After 25+ visits I can honestly say this place is completely deserving of 5 stars.

It's easy to give this place 5 stars. They are fast, fresh and local. They make an effort to source sustainably. The poke is YUMMY and they don't have any competition that comes close in town. I look forward to supporting Paddles Up expanding into new locations! I'm glad they are on the BSU campus now (tho those college kids could use a little more training...)

I love the Bogus Basic bowl! So yummy! However, I do have a few criticisms. 1) The staff can be extremely unfriendly sometimes. I get the stress, I work in the service industry, but as a paying customer (and a tipping one at that), I would hope that I would be treated a little better than I have been a few times that I’ve gone in. 2) I’m not sure what they use to preserve their avocado, but it completely butchers the flavor! I’ll often just opt out of getting avocado at this point because I can’t stand the flavor :(. Thank you for bringing Poke to Boise!

The poké is great. Salmons great too. My 3 year old loves the chicken. I also can’t keep him out my poké. This is my go to quick food. I order Uber eats also. I do wish there was a sauce that complemented the traditional poké flavor better. When you sauce it up you miss out on the amazing flavor of the poké. Maybe that’s in the works.

Loved the two bowls we ordered! Went with The Sun Valley Ski Bum (medium w/ blue rice) and the Lucky Peak (small salad style) and they did not disappoint. They have reasonable prices and it's all very fresh. We ordered ahead and it was ready when we arrived! No doubts that we'll be back.

Paddles up has pretty good poke considering we're in land-locked Idaho. I just don't see the "large" bowl ($17) as a great value based when comparing to the better quality & portion I've gotten in Seattle, LA and SLC for the same price. It's good, just a bit expensive for what you get IMO.

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Boise area! The poke bowls are fresh and made to order. My go-to order is the Bogus Basin, and it has a great combination of flavors. I enjoy my poke any time of the year, especially during the summer. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone!

The first time I went here about two months ago it was fantastic - I couldn’t believe the quality and the options. I ordered to go from them this week and was treated very rudely - not only that but my $15 order (same exact order as before) was made totally different and with less of every ingredient. I felt very let down and unfortunately consistency is key and for the price I’m afraid I won’t be returning.

I've tried poke bowls at sushi restaurants and nothing compares to paddles up hands down the best poke in town! I love that they are expanding all over the treasure valley and I also love that when I go back home to sun valley I can get poke there too. Their sun valley bum is my all time favorite followed by their new menu item the table rock so delicious! The staff is super friendly and always happy which I think says alot about the culture there and that they enjoy what they do. 5 stars highly recommend!

SO GOOD! Not only is this place one of the best restaurants in Boise, but I have never in my life received better service. I had a small mixup with an online order and the actual owner himself hand delivered my next order to make things right! We love Paddles Up Poke!! I'm not sure why I waited as long as I did to try it, assuming that they wouldn't have great vegetarian options. But they have tofu! Plus super fresh veggies, lots of different options for your base (including their blue sushi rice yummm), and tasty sauces. My boyfriend generally opts for their Bogus Basin bowl and loves it too. Everyone who works there is super nice and the service is speedy. It's nice to have a "fast" food option that's actually healthy and makes up feel good. Give them a try!

First off, the service was spectacular! The employees were incredibly nice and if that weren’t enough, the food was amazing. I came in from Denver and was looking for good Poke and found a place that is better than what I have at home. Cool atmosphere downtown, and they also carry local ice cream as well as some beers. Never had poke before, but this was excellent. Really great food, good variety of options, and very reasonable prices. The seating was a bit limited, but we ate late enough that we still all fit nicely. The root beer I got was labeled "mildly carbonated" but just tasted completely flat. But the quality of food outweighed those minor issues. Will definitely come back next time I am in town.

I was hesitant to try poke, but after one trip to Paddles Up I was obsessed. I now order regularly on doordash and stop by when it is easy and every time it is fantastic. The bowls are always delicious and there are lots of options. They also have gluten free soy sauce, which is so helpful. I often get a note written on the napkin (Have a fin-tastic day!) which makes it even more enjoyable to order from them. They go above and beyond and have earned my complete loyalty.

These ladies went above and beyond. I originally ordered through doordash, but there was an error between the app and their printer. They were quick to explain what they could do with third party problems and we easily came up with a solution. The sushi burritos were tasty and I enjoyed the spam musubi. The food was just right for the price you pay. If we come back through Boise we'd definitely consider ordering from them again.

I typically get their spicy bowls, and it's so good and love that its actually spicy. Their burritos are good too if you don't mind seaweed. I recommend their miso soup too as an extra side on.

Always fresh, fast, and delicious. Gluten free options are clear on website when you order catch of the day. Most of all I can't say enough about the service and the owner is awesome. Super quick response when I thought there was a problem, though there wasn't and everything was correct, I was still offered a solution. This will forever be my go to sushi/poke restaurant in Boise and Ketchum. This says a lot considering I have to maintain a strict diet for health issues. You can always trust them to make your order right. They have never failed me in all the times (lots!) I've been there. My only hope is that they find a way to expand to Valley County next. I LOVE THIS PLACE :-)

My wife and I went here for the first time for our date night while our parents watched our kids and it was truly amazing. Also, I am from Hawaii and am extremely picky when it comes to raw fish. From what I hear, they get their catch fresh and (I believe) it is never frozen. On top of that, everyone there was super kind and flexible with how we ordered. We don't eat out a lot, but when we do, we will be coming here more than any other place!

Paddles Up Poke is by far the best spot for poke in Boise! Everything is so fresh always and there are so many healthy options! They have options for people who are gluten free, dairy free, paleo, vegan, and keto! Not to mention everything is gluten free, so I can order freely without having to constantly ask and be aware of everything I am ordering. Also appreciate that there is a chicken option as well as fish options. I absolutely love both the bowls and burritos, and both are equally as filling for a great price. I was quite impressed with how efficient the (I assume manager) was being he was making sure everyone was taken care of, asking if they ordered online/if they were a delivery driver, had a great attitude and so did the other employees. It’s hard to see what a toll it’s taking on these essential workers and it breaks my heart to see them working so hard and having people treat them terribly. (I didn’t personally see anyone treat them badly, I just know because the poor things had to put a sign up on the door.) anyway, excellent service, excellent food! Thank you.

LOVE Paddles Up! When our downtown office was open, it was a frequent lunch spot. Ingredients are fresh (important when you’re talking about raw fish!), and their pre-designed bowls are creative. Found this place on Groupon and decided to give it a try. Being of Hawaiian descent I was seriously skeptical, I mean how fresh can it be in Idaho? Walking in, we where immediately greeted by the staff, and they did a great job of explaining what ingredients were what, and what the flavor profiles were. I built my own bowl, and suprised myself by finishing the whole thing, which was quite a feat considering the portions where quite large. I've now been back three more times and have received the same amazing food and service each time.

The food is good! The portion of a Medium size is enough for a man. Can't really think about anything bad for this place. But I do have one thing to say, which is the plastic tableware, even the cups are plastic! Just hoping the restaurant that offers healthy, raw and quality food can also avoid using one time used tableware. Really want to visit this place again, but really don't want to avoid using plastic tableware too.

We enjoyed a delicious meal here a couple of days ago. Everything was fresh and the staff was cheerful and helpful. I got the spicy Bronco Bowl (not normally spicy, just ask for it) and my wife ordered hers bespoke. They were both very tasty. On the one hand, $12 for a medium seems a little steep, but I am a cheapskate, and this is quality raw fish. On the other hand, after you choose your 3 proteins (salmon, tuna either plain or marinaded, crab, calimari salad, or tofu), you get to choose your toppings and sauces without limitation. Other places I've been usually limit this to a few items. We will likely be back, maybe try their other locations.

I was going to give them four stars, but it would have been due to my expectations being off, not what was delivered. I had imagined more of a Hawaiian style poke, but aside from the Spicy Tuna, none of the fish is marinated. Just raw, diced fish. Having said that, I enjoyed my meal. The tuna was great quality (I got spicy), and the other accoutrements were nice. (I got the Bogus Basin bowl). The salmon and hamachi also looked excellent, but I didn't try them. I would compare it to Zen Bento with a different variety of sides, pretty much like a deconstructed sushi roll. Service was great. The owner was cashiering, and the staff seemed well trained and well prepared for the lunch rush. No snags there. Suggestions? I guess I'd like to see marinated fish, but that's more of a personal preference than a shortcoming. I would like to see a recycle bin for all the plastic containers they use, however. It's nice that Boise is heading towards more variety. Thank you Paddles Up for participating in the push. Great job!

Just meh poke, stuff is fresh, but disappointing servings and they dont mix sauces with the fish before placing on your base. Portions for the toppings are really small -- by the time I had finished all the fish and toppings there was still about 2 cups of rice left. Good enough to eat, but the Poke Bowl place out in Meridian off Eagle road has a better selection, mixes the sauce with your fish before putting on the base, has larger portions, and in my opinion higher quality.

Paddles Up Poke is by far the best Poke place in Boise! The flavors are cohesive and delicious, and the ingredients are always fresh. The reason I am giving it 4 stars is because they often run out of ingredients (avocado, for example), and a $13 bowl without avocado seems very expensive. Also, when they're making your bowl it'd be nice if they let you know they are out of an ingredient instead of assuming you're fine with the change.

They have good Poké with a large number of toppings to choose from if you want to customize your bowl. This is where I go when I have a craving for sushi/sashimi but don't have the time or patience to go to a dedicated sushi restaurant. I recommend getting the sushi rice because the texture of it compliments the Poké and toppings. You might want to ask for a little less sauce if you do though considering sushi rice is already seasoned a bit. My go-to is the Bogus Bowl if I want a little kick of heat but maybe not in the mood for the Fiesta Bowl.

The Idaho State Capital Nachos deliver the Ultimate Mouthgasm! I love Poke and these guys make the best. I've had just about everything on their menu and have loved it all. Today I went in to get a poke burrito and instead left with the Idaho State Capital Nachos which for some reason I had never noticed on the menu before. After reading the description up on the board I had to try them and I may never get anything else but those nachos from now on. Those nachos may seriously be the best thing I have ever put in my mouth.

I can only speak to the food as I ordered a bowl from Uber Eats one evening when I was working on some things around the house. I ordered a custom bowl with a little bit of everything (there's so many options!!!). I had the shrimp, crab, and calamari with zoodles and brown rice. Topped that off with some veggies and my favorite sauces. The reason for the 4 star rather than the 5 is portion size. I ordered the larger option since it was more for dinner than lunch and it was about the size of small cereal bowl. While you're paying for quality over quantity, it left me wanting more! Minor gripe, but overall, the food was delicious!

Another bowl and another reminder of why I love this place so much! Today I opted for The Greenbelt, a mix of tuna and salmon on top of brown rice with teriyaki, avocado, seaweed salad, crispy onions, cucumber, edamame, unagi sauce, green onions, cilantro, and sesame seeds! I mean!!!! The mix of flavors is delicious. Everything I try from here seems to top the choice from before. If you blink you might miss this place located on 9th street downtown, but I promise if you take the time to wander in on any give day, you won't be disappointed. They run amazing specials and most importantly, the owners give back to the community in a variety of ways. Just another example of Boise at it's best!

While I love the selection, the RICE was gummy. A big boo for a Poke lover.... I ordered from uberEats, but still, good rice should be washed 3 times, and should be fluffy but chewy, but this was gumny. I'm so bummed! The flavors are good though, so perhaps at the beginning of the night and not the end, the time I ordered, spent my clams, it could potentially be as it should at that time. I'll give it another try just because I'm willing, but first impression is 3 star poke.

Incredible spot for date nights or a quick bite during your downtown holiday shopping. Location makes it a great place to stop before a concert at the Knitting Factory or a Steelheads game at Century Link Arena. Service is always friendly and prompt and food is always wonderful. Even if you're not a fan of poké, I'm sure Paddles Up will convince you otherwise. Their Fiesta bowl and Eagle Road Rage bowl are tasty and definitely worth a try, while the poké nachos are great for sharing. Paddles Up is simply a spot you cannot miss when visiting Boise.
