Fantastic. Really. A very unassuming little place that by walking in for the first time, you wouldn't know what to expect. It's really good. Crisp and light tempura, perfect sushi rice, not even a hint of "fishy" taste or smell in the sushi, just sweet goodness. And the service was great. They bust their behinds in there. Awesome experience. I've eaten at a ton of sushi places and rarely leave reviews for them, but this one definitely checks all of the boxes.

This was the best sushi I have had in the Northwest. It was an authentic experience. Don't just drive by this restaurant. You need to stop and try their food. For those non-sushi lovers, their sweet and sour chicken was to die for (according to my husband).

Okinawa is a very quiet and comfortable place. I got the Volcano Roll, Tiger Roll, and Crunchy California Roll and all 3 made my happy sushi heart melt. They were so delicious! Only thing I wasn't happy about was the floor of the restaurant. It's very sticky. Everyone's shoes audibly was sticking to the floor and it bothered me. But to me the food made it worth it! We will definitely be making this our new date night place!

Never extremely busy when I come by. They're food is just as good if not better than umi for a way cheaper price , want sushi that taste damn good but your on a budget. This place is it !

Cheapest sushi in town. This place is a hole in the wall secret. Usually not packed. Come for 1/2 off sushi at 4pm. Drink water or hot tea and you’ll have an inexpensive but delicious sushi meal.

Good sushi. Had the Hot night roll: red snapper, tempura and cucumber. Nice especially with a touch of wasabe. Salmon Roll had good fish. The rolls came with Mizo soup. The food was faster than the drive off the interstate. The place is a whole in wall but I would stop again.

Very good. These other “bad” reviews are so inaccurate I do agree it is a lil dirty and when you walk in it smells but that’s because it’s right next to a nail salon. Don’t judge a book by its cover, their sushi was really good! Definitely coming back again.

Reasonably good food can be found here. It's Billings don't set your exorcism too high. The old man serving was working his little butt of trying to keep everybody pleased. We had an assortment of rolls all recommendable. Nothing was exciting or so incredible food it left an impression. I will go here again just because it's the best Billings has offered.

Had some rolls and some bento boxes. The rolls were outstanding. We had one with lemon in it which I loved - it may be too strong for someone who doesn't enjoy lemon as much. The katsu was amazing. No complaints - ate it ALL.

Sushi was better than expected. I especially liked the vegetable tempura. Was also happy about the dragon roll, spicy tuna roll, and chicken katsu, but the double salmon roll felt somewhat tasteless. Also for the happy hour special, if you order multiple rolls, they will just apply the 50% off to the cheapest rolls.

One of my favorite places to eat here in Billings! The food is always great! We like to order the Teriyaki chicken bento box, the fried calamari and the California rolls. Always so tasty! Take out or in person, I have always enjoyed my visits to this restaurant. Service is always great and as fast as possible. Sometimes they get super busy so you have to be a little patient about your order. But the quality is always worthwhile. Would recommend to anyone looking to try something new.

I have come to Okinawa Sushi many a times and I've gotten great service. Plus the atmosphere is fantastic. Food is the best quality out of the Japanese restaurants in Billings. I come about 2 times a week for any of their menu items that they do not specialize in as they are mainly a sushi place however their sushi is also top notch. For those who like spicy, i very much recommend the Ramen. For those who want a good plate with their sushi, the Chicken Teriyaki. All their food is made carefully and look amazing, not to mention taste amazing.

My one experience dining here was fantastic. I ordered the samurai roll and the classic philly roll during happy hour. I ordered some potstickers on the side. The tuna was smooth and flavorful, and everything else had flavors and textures that mixed so well. They seemed overwhelmed with pick up orders but I don't care so much about that. Will go again.

Talk about a whole in the wall! Do not let the location or the environment scare you off. The food was good. If you at are looking for more of an traditional set of sushi avoid the house sauce. It comes on most rolls get it on the side. I would recommend the bento for a very good value. I have to say the prices are excellent. Just don't expect the best service or environment.

Such amazing food. My son doesn't like sushi and he got the beef fried rice. It was so good. My daughter and I stuffed our faces with the Yellowstone roll, crispy California and spicy tuna. It was all so wonderful! Oh and we also had dumpings. Seriously it was the best! Well worth giving it a try, don't see how you can be disappointed!

Food was delicious and came out within 10 min after we had ordered. Owner seemed to be in a bit of a hurry even though we were done before closing but the food was good and the service fast so I had to give 5 stars. But if you do go make sure to come at least an hour before closing so you don't feel rushed to finish your meal.

Okinawa | Sushi & Asian Bistro had some of the best sushi my friends and I have had. We ordered an assortment of 5 rolls and a bowl of Chicken Ramen. We enjoyed the sushi greatly, and the ramen was some of the best we have had, in Montana. The service was very friendly and they greeted us with Miso Soup. Overall, 9/10 for the food, experience, and the price of each item, very affordable.

My husband and I have loved sushi for a long time now and since newly moving to Montana we have soon realized sushi is much more expensive then down in California! We have missed the prices and quality for awhile now until we came to Okinawa Sushi!! You can't beat the prices!! Buy one roll get one free from 2:30 - 5:30pm EVERYDAY! The rolls were priced great! $4 - $8 for regular rolls (including spicy rolls) and about $9 - $12 special rolls (including Tempura rolls and fancy rolls). Not only a great price and good quality but a really nice staff! For the two of us to get stuffed on sushi, it was only $22 for 6 rolls including 2 special rolls!! We couldn't even beat that price in Southern California! Overall, GREAT prices (cheapest in Billings during happy hour), good quality, GREAT staff, and happy stomachs. My husband and I will be calling this our new date night sushi restaurant for sure. Try it out! You won't regret it!!

In Billings for work, and stopped here on a whim. The sushi was delicious - fish was excellent quality. Seaweed salad was also great. Prices are very reasonable. Don't let the strip mall location fool you. It's worth the visit.

We LOVE this place. We probably go 2-3 times a month, and when we're not there, we're thinking about the next time we get to go. Sushi is delish and extremely affordable, so you never feel guilty blowing a bunch of money on a meal out. The sushi chefs are super friendly- always smiling. We moved to Billings from Atlanta and were afraid we'd have trouble finding good affordable sushi- but this is it! Thanks for always taking such good care of us.

I just LOVE this place! It's just a little hole in the wall but what a diamond in the rough! You can't beat the price for sushi during Happy Hour 2:30pm-5:30pm daily; you buy ANY roll and get the other free! The staff are just sweet hearts! My biggest complaint was cleanliness. Fist walking in the sticky door along with very old ripped menus that are easy to replace (that dont get wiped down after customers As we sit down he is ringing up a person and handling money then gets our soup, water and napkins and utensils without washing hands. After placing order I used the restroom and glanced in the kitchen that was filthy. Floor mats that hadn't been cleaned in years, grease covered... everything. Back to the restroom. Ladies was down a VERY dark hall which was undesirable. Please, please clean things for the public eye

We love this place. And they owners and his wife are super sweet. We started going her when we first moved here and now we have 2 kids and they have been coming here since they were born.

My husband and I are new to Billings, I have always loved Sushi and this place takes the cake! While it's not a fancy high end restaurant, that by no means takes away from the caliber of the delicious dishes they serve. The atmosphere is laid back with friendly staff. We will definitely keep this place in mind for dates out or even pick up for dinner at home.

If you want trendy and upscale this isn't the place for you. If you want good sushi though, this is the place to get it. If ever there was a dive sushi bar, this would be the one. Great food, excellent value, quick meals, and a decent menu. Don't expect the servers to write their name upside down on your table or wax poetic about today's offerings, they are out of the way and not gabby. Your soda stays full and empty dishes are cleared out quickly. I can't stop coming here.

First of all, this is hands down the best sushi for the best price in Billings even before their crazy happy hour and lunch special and for that it's a five star, but before you go you should know and understand a few things. The service is friendly, but bad. I've had to more often than not ask for utensils and napkins after receiving food and you will never get a bill at your table, no matter how long you wait. Same goes for them grabbing empty plates. You will have to go up to the register to pay. Once you understand and accept these things you're ready to have a fantastic time. I have a 30 minute drive to this place and it's worth it everytime!

The food was excellent. We got the double crunch, the golden tiger, the double tiger, and the shrimp tempura rolls, and a veggie tempura appetizer. I cannot stress enough how good all of it was. There's a buy one get one special on sushi rolls from 2:30-5:50, so the price was great too. Also complimentary miso at the beginning of the meal! The decor is conservative and clean. The service could have been a little friendlier, as they seemed a little distracted and awkward. All in all, best place for sushi.

TL/DR: Good for Take Out, Order Bento or Sushi! Their food is very hit or miss. Sushi is surprisingly good compared to some other places here in Billings. However, some of the kitchen dishes like yakisoma/ramen leaves much to be desired. They have a pretty good bento where you get one entree, rice, salad, cali roll and tempura for $10, I'd recommend the chicken katsu one. My wife and I aren't too big of fans of dinning in here so we usually order take out. The service is not very friendly from all the times we dined in here, always felt rushed and not welcomed. For some reason the food takes a lot longer to come out when it's not take out. Lastly the interior is just..a bit off. Very low ceiling, kind of dark in a not very romanic way with maroon walls but not painted well, and the floor feels a bit greasy/sticky.

Arrived just in time to get the last table. Understandably, COVID is slowing things down, however, after sitting for 40 minutes and not receiving our appetizer, but watching 5 other walk-in takeout orders filled before we had been served, I decided to help the establishment prioritize their business. First, serve table customers their appetizers so they’ll be less likely to walk out. Second, walk-in orders should be served of course, but in the order placed while having priority on the table orders, since tables provide (or don’t provide, in this case) tips. Third, amid the COVID problem causing a reduction in ability to make money, verify the service you are providing is making your customers happy. Communicate the issues and offer solutions instead of leaving them sitting, waiting for 50 mins for an order that should have taken ten minutes to fill. Now, for the food and atmosphere of the establishment: The host did not ask if my child needed a high chair. Thankfully, I found one for him. The host did not refill our water at all (actually, he did once two tables left and the other three people that were waiting for their walk-in orders were served). I did not force the situation by asking, because this is an item that causes me to rate the business effectiveness. Thus, further affecting the tip. When the food did come, the appetizer arrived at the same time as the main course. Not what I wished for, since I could have been eating at least 30 mins prior. (The edamame were rubbery and did not open well) The main course of fish bowl, poki salad, and assorted sushi was good quality and positioned properly. In fact, for the $59 we spent, the portions were comparable to what I expected to receive. Thus, increasing the rating by one star. Overall, I might come back again, but only if I knew they had no other business at that time of the day. We were at the restaurant so long, Star Trek started and played to the point where Spock asked Sulu to disengage the warp inertial dampener. Cons- Service was not good during full capacity. Pros- Price was lower than expected for quality and portions.

There's not much to look at on the outside of Okinawa Sushi, and if you don't know where too look you might just miss it. But despite their small presence, Okinawa Sushi is by far my favorite Japanese restaurant in town. They have a wide variety of sushi rolls and other dishes to pick from so you can always try something new or stick to your favorites like I do. There aren't many people working there so there are times when things get busy and the service can be slow, but the owners working there are always very friendly, and the food is definitely worth waiting for. My friends and I come here almost every Friday, and we have no plans on going elsewhere for our sushi needs.

Cute couple running this place. Drove here from the west end on a whim. There was only one other customer inside and we felt bad considering it was 8p.m. Their posted hours are 10p.m., but it was Christmas weekend and I thought maybe they would want to leave early. The waitress(Asian and probably the owner) didn't understand the word, "coffee". Her husband come out from behind sushi bar to save her and they went towards the back. She came back and said she would make me coffee. When the coffee was ready, she just left the pot on the table, which was very convienient for my refill. I really dislike it when you have to chase the server for a warm-up. Quaint atmosphere, great music playing softly in background, football game was on bigscreen. Food was prepared quickly, correctly and was quite delicious. They gave us a little dessert complimentary that was very tasty. The visit made for a very enjoyable date with my wife.

My husband and I wanted sushi during our visit to Billings, as a date night. We saw the high reviews and decided to try this place. Atmosphere = barely there. The building is a hole-in-the-wall in a run down commercial block, and the inside is merely painted dark red, and dimly lit, with a few Japanese lanterns for decor. Service = mediocre. Seemed efficiency reigns supreme, at the expense of friendliness and good customer care. I've definitely experienced worse, but I'd characterize it as bare minimum. Food = very good. Menu could beneit from some sushi platter selections, or maybe dessert. But the rolls we got were awesome. Bottom line...not really great for date night, but I'd definitely recommend for take-out or the happy hour BOGO.

Great find. Family staid over the weekend in Billings and came across this place on Google Maps. Had eel, tuna and salmon sushi, Samurai roll, and Chicken Yakisoba. This place is very authentic. The food was good, but there are a couple things that were a bit unnerving. The staff didn't speak english which isn't always important but we were unable to ask her to make sure there were no nuts in our food as my daughter is allergic. We figured it out but it was frustrating. It was a little dirty with not much atmosphere but you will receive an authentic experience here.

Then without notice miso soup appeared in front of me ,on the house, with solid flavor . Then I viewed the menu and there was quite a selection . I ended up selecting the jalapeno bombs and a Normandy roll . First off that jalapeno bomb was amazing; crab and cream cheese and tuna stuffed in a jalapeno pepper and tempura fried with crunch . Omg. And the normanNo was hands down the best roll I've ever had . The chef Seth was entertaining and informative. He was the artist behind my meal. Well done and bravo sir. **Update** The whole staff kills it . Every item I've tried is amazing. And it's not on the menu but order the Godzilla roll and if the right guy is working .... You will get the best roll of your life !
