This place really has the classic American diner feel: huge menu, booth seating and cheap prices! If you're looking for high end American food, then this place isn't for you. Came her after a night of drinking for brunch and it really hit the spot 👌 Only this is, their "home fries" are like hash browns with onions. BUT THEY HAVE SIRACHA HOT SAUCE SO THAT MAKES UP FOR EVERYTHING!!

I really enjoy Southside Diner. This has become my go-to for breakfasts. I strongly recommend trying the French toast ( not in picture), and the bacon! I always get extra-it’s that good. The staff is amazing, welcoming and work great together.

I don't know why I haven't visited Southside Diner sooner! Even with the place being absolutely mobbed, the kitchen was crazy fast with our food & the front of house peeps were super friendly. My husband and I both ordered Tillman Towers. I was so, so satisfied bc everything was perfectly seasoned, eggs were perfectly easy, and the home fries (chunky style, not shredded) had a perfectly crispy texture even after being buried in a mountain of chipped beef cream. Also, the portion size was crazy big given the price. Only ding I could give is the coffee which was lackluster, but whatever, it's a diner! With how good the food was, I didn't care too much. 😆 Southside Diner was a diamond in the rough that I'll be excited to return to! 👌

The best waffle I’ve ever had!! I rarely clear my plate but this time it was no challenge! The bacon was perfectly done as well. Not too crispy but not too floppy. My boyfriend got the biscuits and gravy and he was very happy as well! I would recommend this place if you want fast service, great food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Jaimie M was an excellent server. Very sweet and attentive! Also a very kind smile!

Typical diner food. My boyfriend got a burger and said it was fine. I got crab Benedict and it was fine. Looking for a breakfast place that you know you will be safe would recommend this place. It's located in a shopping center so won't have to park on street which is nice.

Just had breakfast with a group of 4. We were seated right away. The service was AMAZING! Everyone worked so good together… refilling our coffee. We had so much food.. and it was so good. All our food was hot! Not a cold plate on the table. It’s really hard to believe that they don’t have 5 stars.. everyone has the Aholes

This is my go-to spot in Baltimore anytime I am close by it is great for breakfast or lunch. I'm a big breakfast person in this place delivers in every way Great service great South Baltimore atmosphere friendly manager owner. It has it all! Don't ask me what's good because it's all good order what you like and don't miss out on the pipeline breakfast casserole.

Service was fast food was delicious love this place for breakfast. Wife got spinach pie and I got the breakfast Pipeline with over easy eggs atop a mix of hash browns sausage cheese bacon. Like a diner they have butter at the table which is good so that it's soft when you need it.

The food was great. Our server was attentive to us. I ordered chicken and Waffles with scrambled eggs. The chicken was nice and tender. I love Belgian waffles and our perfect, nice and fluffy, light. The eggs were good. Looking forward to my next visit. It's a small casual place but they also offer outdoor seating, which is great on the really nice days where it's not too hot or cold or windy. Children friendly as well. Good for small groups. I definitely highly recommend.

This was my first time stopping at the Southside Diner. Love the seating, love the layout, love the style of the business. I was seated instantly, a waitress was there almost immediately and got my order going. Before I knew it this huge omelette was delivered. I'm a big breakfast eater, and I can barely finish it. Plenty of ham Swiss and mushrooms on it, as much as I would possibly expect. It was delightful. The hash browns were good the white toast was way bigger than normal which was nice. All in all this was an absolutely terrific breakfast. Don't know what else to say. It was $10, but it was worth every cent. Absolutely worth the trip, two thumbs up.

Enjoyed a late lunch on a weekday. Like other diners it's awesome to be able to get breakfast whenever you want. Sunny side or "dip eggs" were absolutely perfect and kind of wanted to order more so I could smother every bite of my waffle in yoke. My brothers side of gravy for the french fries was drool worthy. It's in the Southside Marketplace (shopping center) center back left corner. They have outside seating which is nice but the parking lot is not much to view. I enjoyed eating inside because of the televisions and ambience. The staff is SO nice and patient which is great because I can be an indecisive eater.

So I went there this morning because it was on my route and I was hungry I called and was there within 7-8 minutes my food was ready I got a bacon egg and cheese sandwich and an order of fries. I spent about 16-17 with tip included. I open my bag and look and the waitress says do you need something, i said I was putting salt, pepper and ketchup on my fries. I ate my fries as soon as I got in my truck just to find out they were cold and hard like they weren’t fresh. The sandwich was delicious I will say that even though I had a piece of hair on the one side I didn’t eat. But overall overpaid, mediocre breakfast. With cold fries in a cup. Will not return.

This was the first time I ate there and it was great! I ordered a New York strip cooked perfectly medium rare as I ordered. My daughter had kids chicken strips and she liked it as well. My wife ordered a turkey club sandwich and looked amazing!! We are from Pittsburgh and we will definitely recommend Southside Diner to are family and friends

small down home diner with great food and service. prices were reasonable and the good was delicious. my only suggestion is to make fries apart of combos instead of upgrading from chips. we ate here twice on our visit to Baltimore, the menu is large and plenty to choose from. when in the Baltimore area again we will make a stop by this diner again.

Ive never eaten here but I took the chance & placed an order through grubhub. I'm glad I did & cant wait for outside to open so I can try their dine in service. I ordered the Southside Steak Platter which came with a nice size steak with good gristle, scrambled eggs, & diced home fries. The portion size was perfect & I have to note that as I've noticed that some of these restaurants are giving smaller portions when orders are places with apps. The condiments & cutlery I needed was provided also. & I was surprised that I got 2 pieces of toast that I didnt know were included! I will def recommend

This place came with pretty high google reviews. I would say it may be slightly overrated as far as the food but I still give it 4 stars because the service was excellent and the staff was super friendly. Highlights: Clean Quick seating Friendly staff Food arrived fast and hot Fish was fresh which is rare for a diner Bacon was 5-star Fries were cooked perfectly Lots of menu choices, something for everyone What could be better: They currently don’t have crab cakes but they are still listed on the menu, remove them or inform the customers. I was told once I ordered. Grits had zero salt and butter. Breakfast potatoes are more like hash browns, I’m being picky. Overall nothing was bad and the friendly staff and great service made up for the small tweaks needed for food.

If you want a taste of "right down to it" homestyle Americana, this is the place to go. Nothing too fancy on the menu but everything on it (that I've tried) is delicious. Very budget friendly. Clean. Excellent service. It's a little busy most of the time. But you should expect that when it's good food.

Went here for the first time with a party of 9 people and all i can say was the promptness of the manager (I assume) was unmatched. We got there on a sunday morning during peak time and the server was great, food was good and a plus from interaction with other patrons made the breakfast visit well. I will return kudos to the staff as it is hard to maintain service especially when businesses are understaffed !

It's in the Southside Shopping center in an area where there's plenty of parking. You can always find a seat inside. When weather is good theres always seating outside. The food is great and plentiful! I always have something to take home. The staff are fast and very helpful. They check back to make sure your happy or need anything. My Aunt, who have a little restaurant liked it also. And that was enough for me!

One of the best meals I've had in a while! The four of us all got brunch and everything was amazing. We got 10% off from showing our Fort McHenry tickets too. There was a short wait, which just shows how popular the diner is, which for a Saturday morning wasn't bad at all. This is a rating for the breakfast. Generally I’m not a fan of ordering breakfast at restaurants because it’s easy and cheap to make at home. I feel like breakfast food at restaurants is generally overpriced for what you get. That definitely applies here as well. There’s nothing wrong with the food here. It’s solidly good, simple breakfast food. But it’s a bit pricey. Not nearly as bad as trendy “brunch” places. I wish we had come for lunch instead. I have a feeling the sandwiches and such are probably a much better value.

Had a great experience here; felt funny asking for a gyro with no pita (am trying to do the no-carb thing) and they could not have been more accommodating. In fact, wonderful Jamie gave me lots of helpful tips about cutting carbs and was super nice across the board. And, the gyro was great! :-)

Nice little diner, I have been on navy duty down the road so I have been eating here for about a week straight and haven't got a single complaint. Food was excellent and the staff is fabulous. I have been eating some sort of salad dish every day and the produce they use is super fresh lettuce on the east coast usually sucks even when you buy it at grocery store yourself. Not sure where the owner buys the produce from but really really fresh and crisp.

If you're looking for VALUE Southside is the spot. Solid food and huge portions all at a reasonable price. With their huge menu you can eat there for a year and never have the same thing. The waitresses will brighten your day and the owner will know your name after just a couple visits. There's no better local spot in South Bmore.

Southside Diner was on the top of the list and so I decided to try it out. We loved both dishes we each got. I got the Tillman Tower and it was delicious!!!! Nick the owner is very personable and friendly. The servers are cool and nice. Service is great. I ate breakfast there every weekend. Love their pancakes, crab cakes, saussge links,and home fried potatoes. I add fried onions & green peppers. Their cheese steak is huge and so frickin good. Meat be fallin out of the bread. The cook makes sure that the food is pipin hot when served to the customers. I like that. All of your food is always nice & hot.

We have eaten at the Southside Diner a number of times and enjoyed the food at each visit. Last Wednesday we had the special of the day which was baked chicken with mashed potatoes, dressing, gravy and another side. The serving was huge with almost a half of a chicken that included a large breast portion and a wing. It was delicious with a nice crispy skin and light, tasty gravy. I enjoyed the dressing a great deal which was way above the usual of gooey seasoned bread. This was perfectly seasoned and had real pieces of celery and golden raisins. Reminded my of what my mother used to make. All of this for $10.00 It is always busy and noisy at Southside Diner but the wait staff is very friendly and efficient. Their menu is extensive and breakfast items are always available.

Not many new businesses are diners and I was glad to find out this one is. Booths make it feel and look like the diners of the past. All I missed is the pie case and I did not see if they got shakes there. Sitting on the counter so, felt more like sitting at a bar. Breakfast all day and night! I ordered that and my friends too. Great portions and the bacon was thick and plenty. Yes I like this place and I would come here quiet often if I was living close by.

I ordered through door dash and i was missing a crab cake , normally i wouldnt say anything but being good friday i was dreaming about the crab cake all day lol I called the diner not knowing how to handle it being it came through door dash but the owner at first offered me a crab cake , and gift card but i couldnt drive there at the time I told him i would come by another day . i tried contacting door dash (wasnt easy) and then 10 mins later the owner called and asked me for my address and delivered my crab cake along with a 25 dollar gift card !! Wow so nice of him .... Just wanted to tell a great story with a great review ..btw crab cake was awesome mmmmm ...

One of the few places to buy breakfast in South Baltimore. Expect well-executed diner classics, but also fairly long wait times. The owner and staff used to be at Big Matty's and this location is twice as large...and still too small.

The food here is good and the atmosphere is very friendly. It's not your typical greasy spoon dinner or "crabcake hon" restaurant. It's also not another McDiner cookie cutter tourist trap. Locals as well as newbies to Charm City dwell here and though it's not very spacious it's bright happy and will make you want to order more just to hang out. I had a Patty melt and my wife had a Reuben. Though I enjoyed my sandwich my wife did not. Here's where it got interesting. Neither one of us are complainers we'd planned to just take a loss on the sandwich and go grocery shopping. Brooke ...not our server by the way... asked as did another young lady if the sandwich was ok? My wife said no but no problem. Two minutes later a large gentleman came and sat in our booth with us and began apologising about the sandwich. He asked my wife if she wanted something else to which she declined. He insisted to not only take I off of the check he said he was going to taste the corn beef and see if it needed to be changed or to take it away. He said *We're here to make customers...not money. That meant a lot to me because in todays who gives a damn society, its refreshing to have some old fashioned courtesy. We'll be back.
