Reviews of Sear
Aaron Lichtman (Mangusu)
Ate here on two occasions for their breakfast. The staff were very nice. The waffle was fantastic. The eggs Benedict were very lacking however, they were quite over cooked and the hollandaise couldve been better

Love this place.
Beautiful hotel perfectly located in downtown Atlanta.
The breakfast, is to die for. Every food option you can think of and all prepared to perfection.
Service is amazing and the atmosphere is outstanding.
The waffles, honey display, omelets, details in decor all perfect.

First and foremost a huge thank you to Andrew for being respectful and helpful even though we were very low energy and wildly underdressed, at no point did I feel unwelcome while he helped us. Prices are on the higher end of median but absolutely worth it. Had the sandwich of the day and I had to resist scarfing it down whole. I would absolutely recommend this after a long day or if you're just getting in.
Carnival of Flavors
Stopped by for a quick lunch. The ambience is good but the food is not that great. They do not have alcohol for lunch. I ordered chef’s catch Mahi Mahi and the fish tasted extra salty. They said it came with a wine sauce but I hardly could taste any sauce.
The charcuterie board was slightly better but I fish they had more cheese options.

Started DragonCon 2022 with late-night dinner at Sear. First of all, so glad you are back with dinner menu. Second, Latosha, the hostess, is fantastic!! Super friendly and very helpful! Sylvester was our waiter and he was also great! The bread basket and shrimp appetizer were very good and the carpet cake was delicious! Will beback Saturday for steak night!!

Ate here twice. Breakfast was an excellent buffet with fresh honey from a honeycomb. Dinner was an excellent filet mignon with a nice Cabernet. Excellent and knowledgeable server.
Yirui Arlene Zhang
Had swordfish and a few appetizers. Appetizers were pretty good (crab cake, shrimp). Fish was just okay.

Make sure you ask all the questions before you visit. No breakfast, the amenities are old and not well maintained, rooms and building looks kind of old, no parking available where my family had to walk a block to find a garage ($25) where tons of strange people staring at you like they want to get you. The staff are AMAZING. Is not their fault they tried their very best to help you in anything but overall it was not a pleasant stay...

Sear was great! Sylvester took excellent care of us. He ensured that we fully enjoyed our experience from start to finish. Thanks again for everything!

Well. We are in Atlanta at the America's Mart. This is a semi annual trip for business. In the last 15 years a few restaurants have emerged as outstanding. One of those is Sear in the downtown Marriott, where we are staying. We are able to order and share. Of course none of that matters if the taste isn't above average. The use of seasoning here absolutely takes this place to 5 star. Service from Andrew (?) was outstanding. The manager also came over to make sure things were right. Another perfect experience for me.

My wife and I visited Sear on the opening night of DragonCon this year and simply don't know how we could have had a better experience! I got the cowboy ribeye and it was cooked to perfection and very flavorful!! My wife got the gnocchi and loved it! They had a special chocolate cake just for the convention and it was phenomenal also. My wife did say it was a bit too sweet for her, but come on, it's chocolate cake... can it really be too sweet?! Our server (and another server who dropped by a few times to check on us, and the assistant manager, and the director of food services) could not have been nicer or more invested in making sure we had a great time! We also watched the chef up front checking dishes for proper presentation and he was a perfectionist (which I appreciate)! Easiest 5 stars I've given in a long time! They left me absolutely nothing to find fault with!
Janay Peters
Celebrated my moms birthday here! Wonderful experience, the food was great, the ambiance was comfortable and the staff were all very friendly! Will definitely be back!

The restaurant in the hotel at the Marriott Marquis in Atlanta is a wonderful place for dinner and the prices were reasonable. Our service was excellent (I guess that’s what you can expect in Georgia where everyone is so nice anyway). I really thought the portion size was great, big enough to share. my friends and I all ate here several nights because it was so good we decided to keep coming back instead of going to the other restaurants in the area!
VaShawn Henry
We had the breakfast buffet for 4 days and never tired. Especially for the last 3 days when Nate was at the omelette station. He is friendly, fast, and a truly professional cook. The servers were also very friendly and engaged. We had dinner one night, and the cost was similar to a high end steak house. The side portions are not as generous as a high end steakhouse. My steak was tasty; however, it was too rare for my liking.

Ate here during our stay at the Marriott. Went in for a late breakfast, but missed it by 5 minutes. We had lunch instead. Menu was very, very small (it was about 1/4 of the menu we saw online) offering fewer options than just about any other restaurant I’ve been to. I had a burger and my partner had the ribeye. The steak was great- well seasoned, though it was quite overcooked. My burger slapped- it was fantastic, 0 complaints. Service was fast and the server was very nice and attentive. Atmosphere was modern industrial and very clean (I loved it) and overall the whole place seemed rather nice. My only complaint about Sear beside the tiny menu would be the pricing. $20 for a plain (though tasty) burger, even in Downtown ATL is a bit ridiculous. I’m sure Sear has high prices due to being contracted under Marriott, but still. I am a proponent of cost = quality.
Tina Guined
Mixed experience. We were basically the only ones in the restaurant at the time, so the service was excellent. I was a little bit disappointed in the steak. We ordered ribeyes and they were less than a half inch thick. The ribeye at Ruth’s Cris was thicker and had better flavor. We asked for them both to be cooked medium rare they were both cooked well. For the price we paid, the quality was not there. The Mac and Cheese side was excellent. Probably will not be back.
Ziwa Dinero
I got the buffet for 29 , everything was okay. sweet potato hash was fine but the sweet potatoes were wayyy under cooked. Like literally biting into raw potatoes. Please have the chef try the food before putting it in the buffet (and please put some alcohol on the menu. A mimosa, something. We’re not kids)
Tucker Ashley (TuckTuck)
Sear was so wonderful for lunch that we doubled up for dinner. Mostly because it was in our hotel, but the quality of ingredients, hospitality and service were impeccable! For lunch was Jumbo grilled shrimp 🦐 Caesar with the mini shrimp rolls and charcuterie for starters. The honey comb and blue cheese 😋 and the buns for the shrimp rolls were delicious and I believe homemade. Fresh dill made the rolls complete.
The atmosphere pleasant for business or personal. Outlets are available at every booth for all I-charging needs.
As for dinner, I sat at the bar to wait on my party to arrive. (They were working late) The bartender was great! He is Knowledgable, creative and billowing with a warm personality and endearing spirit. I ordered the cracked sea salt baked bread. Wow. Delicious. For the Maine course I ordered the Grass Fed Filet Mignon with diver sea scallops. Although they both had too much salt for my liking.. the preparation was carefully executed and delicious. The Mac and cheese left much to be desired, but the mashed potatoes and fingerlings were appetizing. Thank you chefs and staff at Sear, Atlanta.

This is our 3rd time staying at the Marriott and we decided to eat at Sear omgggg when I say everything was perfecttttt the waiter was great forgot to get his name but the Chef Reggie is one I’ll never forget he was amazing and made me and my husband feel so welcome (it was our Anniversary) and we even carried a convo with him and to God be the glory I thank God for him to be on our path for Confirmation- but overall SEAR is the place to be for breakfast/brunch you will not be disappointed!!!! The atmosphere beautiful, the greeting I didn’t get her name, you will not be disappointed!!! EVERYTIME from here on we will be choosing SEAR.
Rajneesh Armugham
Sear restaurant located inside Marriott Marquis Atlanta.
They serve nice buffet breakfast , lunch and dinner.
Enjoy your food here....

Good lamb chops while hot, but a little tough when they cool. The asparagus was oily. The dessert, tiramisu cheesecake, was cute and delicious.
Jocelyn Rangel
Great place to have breakfast if you are staying at the Marriott. Service was very attentive.
Sassy Shea
The food was not flavorful, I had to put salt and pepper on my $8 smoked mashed potatoes. The steak was charred and not worth $40.
The Autistic Traveler
I ate dessert at Sear back in late 2019 when staying at the Marquis, and my experience satisfied me immensely. While I was (and still am) saddened that they no longer serve the really big, amazing, unique-looking chocolate cake I saw on an outdated menu, the dessert I did have was equally as yummy. The service was also fantastic, and the casual, cozy, slightly-dim vibe of the eatery is a great blend of class and charm.
My apologies for the late review, but I will return when I’m in Atlanta again! Thank you!
Carl Thorstad
The food was very good and the service was excellent. Thank you Phyllis for your attentive effort to make our dining experience so wonderful.

Breakfast was good waiter forgot about us whenever it was time to pay we sat for 20 mins just for him to pick up my payment.
William Holland
I gave them one star yesterday because they were not open at 6:30 as their add suggests. The do open at 7:00. Their sausage is practically raw and you would think that they would know what gravy is supposed to taste like since we are in the south. Otherwise edible food but not worth the money.
Sherry Widner
Food, drink, and service were all EXCELLENT! Food was somewhat expensive ($140 plus tip for 3 people), but it's Atlanta, and it was EXCELLENT, so no complaints.
Slique RAF
Had the breakfast buffet for a whole week and was happy as can be with it! The breakfast buffet food selection is very impressive, and the custom made omelets, waffles, and pancakes are great. Probably a little pricey if you pay the menu price, so look for the room package (2 adults and 2 children included.) The room and breakfast package is a great deal if you have 2-4 people dining. The food was excellent, and the staff was very friendly and accommodating.

We dined at Sear during a recent stay at the Marriott Marquis hotel this past week. Hotel restaurants can be very hit or miss at times, but we wanted to experience a meal there due to it's location, design and other reviews that gave it a standout rating.
We ordered two flat bread starters that were ample enough to share between two people if you wanted to save room for a main course. Our flat breads were the smoked salmon and mushroom selections. It was a first for both of us that we will be happy to repeat.
We were dining light so we went straight for the dessert menu after our starters and had their famous 15 layer chocolate cake.
We now understand why this is always on the menu, it was moist and never heavy in taste or texture. The layers of creme were just enough and the sweetness was found in the perfectly balanced frosting that gave this cake just the right amount of sweet to make it perfect.
Chocolate can be overpowering and with the size of this serving ( we shared) if not done well it would have ruined the experience.
It was the best chocolate cake we have had in a very long time and will be fondly remembered. If we are ever in Atlanta near Sear, we will be back for another slice.
The location, design and service was wonderful. It would be a great location for a date or a special event as the size of their facility was impressive with modern and sleek decor.
Our server Andrew was lovely and attentive, making us feel very relaxed and welcome.
This hotel restaurant was a delight and even if you are not staying at the Marriott we think it would be worth a visit.
John Rushing
Excellent food, relaxed atmosphere, pricey but a good value for downtown. Generous entrees and family style sides.
Tom Heard
Beautiful, delicious food served by Phyllis who was very attentive. Great evening.
James Carriere
Excellent steak restaurant. I had the bone-in Kansas City strip steak and it was delicious. The only drawback was their wine selection was a bit sparse at the time but that was because they were about to undergo some construction and were starting to draw down their inventory. Hopefully the remodeling goes well and everything is even better.
James Griffin
Went on a Saturday and all they had to serve was the brunch buffet. They did not do a la carte menu which was a disappointment. However the brunch buffet was excellent and had so many options to choose from. Every item I had was delicious and one cannot go wrong. There were many options for those with dietary restrictions too.
Pia Bhatti
We love this place! Pricey but good food.
Paul Mason
I expected more from this place. It took about 15 minutes before we even go even got drinks. And our waiter didnt even acknowledge us for another 10. The manager or someone had to take our complete order. They were understaffed and got hit with a rush all at the same time, I get it. I had this huge steak that was Delish! Memphis ribeye or something, it's the most expensive steak they have. Definitely some good eatin'! My wife was not satisfied with her shrimp in this red sauce. She said it tasted like ketchup, I didnt think it was too bad tho. I would definitely go again because the ambiance is very romantic and it was very clean. It is also very convenient since it's located right in our favorite hotel the Marriott Marquis!
Oyinkansola Romiluyi
Excellent breakfast buffet offerings, staff, and ambiance!

My group and I went here during our stay during Dragon Con on Friday when they had a seafood buffet. I am on a diet and they were accommodating to my requests of a glass of milk to stir my drink powder into. My group stated the food was fresh and delicious. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Jarvis Carter
Didn't stay at the hotel, but live in the neighborhood so I walked over for breakfast. The buffet was roughly $30 but I felt it was worth it. The omelettes were made to order and the fruit was fresh. Our server didn't have to do too much but made sure she checked on us frequently. Definitely a splurge breakfast.
Tommy Harris
My wife and I are dinner here at about 830pm on a Thursday night. The atmosphere was great, it was very clean, the service was pretty good. The steaks were good, not the best we've had, but we weren't upset about them. We also weren't calling home about them but they were satisfactory. She had the filet, I had the NY strip I believe. Our issue was with the sides. She ordered the au gratin potatoes and I got the twice baked potato. They both left a lot to be desired. The au gratin potatoes were not hot all the way through. The twice baked potato just tasted off.
We are visiting from out of town so we will not get another chance to eat here this trip to give it a second chance. Overall, we did leave full and the service was good and I'd say it's worth checking out, but we were just disappointed in the sides.
Dylan Prentice
Good food but expensive! You may need to wait depending how busy they are, but the food is good quality at least.
Nicole Kindred
I had the pan seared Salmon. It was cooked to perfection. It was also interesting watching the Chef work, with their set-up you can see a portion of your order being prepared.....at least during lunch. The price was decent as well.
Joe Steffler
They were pretty busy but server kept up well. Had a bowl of house chili which was very good. A bit on the sweet side but still good: beans, peppers, onions, and diced tomatoes.
Ordered the ribeye which was supposed to be 10oz... at least 16oz easy.
It was cooked perfect.
In the Mariott so not cheap but we'll worth it.
Jenelle Mellerson
I was so excited to try the short rib but it fell flat. First off, they took everyone's order separately so one person in our party was done eating by the time I got my order. The waiter didn't even take my friend's order even though we all saw her give him the order. Then he was arrogant and unapologetic about not getting her order. He wouldn't even offer her the entree for free so she sat and did not eat. Back to the short ribs, once they came out, it wasn't even good. The plate was covered in sauce which was a bit too much. The best thing I had was the cheesecake and wine. Parking is horrible downtown. The valet wouldn't even let me park in the garage because they said they were full! Smh, doubt I'll return here.
K Jordan
Went for brunch. It was "meh". Selection was average. The service was pretty good but the downer was TWELVE dollar mimosas. Not for a carafe...just 1 mimosa. We went because we were in a time crunch. The are better places nearby IMO.
Nick Bruno
Great service, like the best I had in ATL. The drinks, delicious. The sides, scrumptious. The steak... well, okay the steak was just alright. We enjoyed ourselves tho so that’s all that counts.
Pamela McCoomer
My Son 17th Birthday party on January 19th was outstanding, the staff and managers made my son party one he will not forget. Pastry Chef Akeam created a gorgeous elegant Birthday cake that the guests are still giving compliments on. I would like to personally thank Chef Akeam, the Administrative staff and the entire staff for welcoming and accommodating us. Excellent Food, and a Wonderful Experience!
S K
Food was OK. Ceasar salad was very good. However, wasn't given the option for ground pepper. Diver scallops were way too salty. Service was terrible. Had to wait over 10 mins for a server (not my server) to tell me he was busy. Left without ordering dessert because of it.
John Modzelewski
A solid steakhouse offering in a mega hotel. Certainly go here before you go to the other restaurants in the hotel. Food offerings are presented with a little more flair. My special thanks to the staff and bartenders for making good conversation!
Robert Beck
The food was ok, but it was way too expensive for a basic breakfast buffet.
Bridal Boutique by Barbara
The appetizers were great, especially the cesar's salad, very tasty and gourmet. Then, we had The Atlanta Strip bone in, it was delicious and cooked to perfection even though we asked it well done. Highly recommend it .
Robert Douglas
Great breakfast for the two days of our stay! Haile took care of us and he was wonderful, attentive, and gracious. When you come ask to sit in his section.
Dendrxx Oliver
The price was a little hefty but the mashed potatoes were amazing. I was a little disappointed with the temperature of the food when it was served after the wait times. The presentation was nice though.
Mike Delane
Breakfast is amazing! Fresh fruit, omelette bar, pastries, everything was good. And they have a fresh fruit juice selection daily, sooo good and refreshing. Great service too.

I stayed at the Marriott for a VRMA conference and ate at Sear every morning. Every morning the service staff was excellent, fast and attentive and the food was great every time. Was stoked to have such a good place so easily accessible.
Rachael Ann Wyatt
Breakfast buffet was great and the staff were absolutely wonderful. The omelette station worker was so helpful and accommodating. Great job on August 28.
Andrew Lilley
The food is decent, but not worth the spend. $16 for a very ordinary eggs benedict. Not terrible on price for hotel food, but not great on taste either.
Melissa Taylor
Had the mahi mahi with fingerling potatoes and avocado vinaigrette. Perfection on a plate. Professional, courteous service. Highly recommend Sear for a delicious dining experience.

Good food. Breakfest buffet is awesome. It's inside the hotel so no need to leave hotel.

The food is good. The service is not bad but not up to price. Worth going to if in a rush or you don't want to travel. Otherwise go elsewhere.

Amazing bourbon bar and the best secret in downtown ATL. Phillip know his stuff with one of the largest selections I’ve seen in a while. Super rare bottles and your every day high end bottles.

(Translation) A special restaurant whose chef is awarded; It is inside the Marriott Marquis. The prices high but the food was worth it. I had breakfast and dinner in this place. Obviously it is expensive because it is inside a hotel but the food itself is of high quality.

Un restaurante especial cuyo chef es galardonado; está dentro del Marriot Marquis. Los precios altos pero la comida valió la pena. Desayuné y cené en este lugar. Obviamente es caro porque está dentro de un hotel pero la comida sí es de alta calidad.
