Easy and quick service, you can order on the screen inside and probably beat the drive through line if it’s long. The catfish fillet was definitely my favorite part of the meal, some of the best fast food fried fish I’ve ever had.

Decent experience. I just want it to be a little cleaner in the lobby. Also, the menu prices are not up to date and this affected the group order we priced. 75 wings is currently $89.99 plus taxes. The 12 pc fish is $23.99 plus taxes. If you call in an order be sure to ask for pricing since they don’t match right now.

Haven't been here in years, but wanted some good chicken and fries without being disappointed. I got exactly what I wanted. The chicken and fries were hot/good. Portions on point, and that FROZEN LEMONADE!!!!! HIT THE FREAKIN SPOT!! I will be back soon, and will order 3 more plates. See y'all soon..

Sometimes you get the I don't care food. My fish had so much seasoning it was inedible. It's just hit or miss. Sometimes good, other times bad. 2.5 better rating. But the lines stay long, just check your blood pressure after the meal. Good going in, but very greasy on your overall health. My last visit.

Our first time. Been hearing a lot about it. The food here was really good. We live in Dallas, GA and waited so long to go because of the ride but my nephew who lives up the street begs his mom and dad every week to go to JJ's. We finally went yesterday and was very impressed. Not many places still serve whole wings. My only suggestion is to check your order before leaving. So many people coming through, some plares might not make it to the bag. Looking forward to going again. A lot of the bad reviews I'm reading are about the way the place looks, missing food, or bad service. Duh, you're going to the hood in most cases, what do you expect. Almost none of the bad reviews said anything about how good the food was. I myself don't care about how the chairs are stacked on a table or how much paper on the floor and how condiments were labeled. I'm not eating there anyway. As far as the service, as long as they take my order and give me my food, I'm cool. Again if you want good food, give this place a try. Not the best looking spot nor will the workers serve you with courtesy and a smile but your food will be on point.

Here is the thing, the food is delicious. This is probably some of the best quick fried fish you will get in Atlanta. The fried macaroni is pretty good too. The problem is this location is too small. The parking lot during dinner time is full, the drive through is chaotic and the inside is a madhouse. They have to be making enough money to where they can invest in a thoughtful remodel. You best bet is to place order online for pickup.

The line is always wrapped around the corner but it's absolutely worth it... I wish they would have desserts though, last few times I went they always say they are not doing it that day... and I've gone on different days... the lemonade is very good also

Not sure why the locations are always in the hood, but the fish is always good. And by hood, I mean in a broke down shopping area with potholes in the parking lot or vacant stores all around. Also, staff seem to be on edge and expect all customers to have attitudes. Other than that, the food is still good and fresh to order.

Not enough zucchini , Great food taste good the zucchini was off the chain. But my fish was fried too hard and I asked for lemonade when I ordered and she gave me a can of Pepsi and then said well give me two more dollars to correct what she did wrong in the first place other than that oh man it was great.

New years Day, we all met up at moms house for New years celebration, l was told by my sister soldier 🪖 Sheila Hill that My brother Dennis Hill said that JJ Fish & Chicken was the best, l ordered ten peace basket 🧺 of fish 🐠🐟, they don't serve ten peace basket 🧺 of fish, but they serve twelve peace basket 🧺 of fish, and whiting fish 🐟 was my choice,l was disappointed 😞 the twelve peace of whiting fish 🐟 one peace looked like it was cut in half of a regular whiting fish 🐟 three times so one peace was from a regular whiting fish three times, and the twelve peace of whiting fish 🐟 was $26:00 Dollars that was too much l don't think I will be there again.

The tempature and quality of my food was not that great at this location. My fish was piping hot but my shrimp/fries were cold. Drinks were in a can vs fountain. Just not what I expected.

The customer service was sub-par. You are just a number and they seemed to have issues communicating amongst each other so my food was left sitting on the table by drive through while they tried to figure things out so intimately the food was cold.

A clog your arteries sort of place but definitely worth it. 🖒 Freshly fried when you order so expect some wait time. It's fresh, so it's worth the wait. There's always some sort of line. Meals come with a can of soda and it's pretty decently sized portions. I want to say one meal feeds 2.

Ordered over the phone for a 100 pc wing and the food was ready timely, but the location is just not clean enough. The chicken was decent but I've had much better at other locations. Most likely I will not return would rather ride further to a different location.

The food is very good, the only issue I have, they don’t give you forks for the French fries, you have to eat it with your hand, I shouldn’t have to ask for a fork.

Fast service! Hot food! Very delicious! I ordered a 4 piece dinner and an order of cheese sticks. And it was super hot yummy. And I had no idea the cheese sticks comes with fries! That was like a whole meal in itself. The ladies in there are super sweet. The only problem is they were a little shy with the seasoning. But that's not anything major. Give them a try.

I love the trout fish, chicken wings and fries with extra lemon pepper and mild sauce!! After having to request not to fry the trout so hard, it made it so much better!!! If I don't call and order when they first open, I have to go inside and order to assure freshness. The young ladies in there on their phones and not too attentive. My last visit a couple weeks ago, I did notice the lobby was a little cleaner.

I was passing thru and was recommended to try them.. So glad I did. I had my fair share of fried fish and shrimp but this is top tier. The place was pretty packed. I think we caught the wave of people coming from church. The wait wasn't too bad tho. I would definitely go again. The fries could of been better but hey I'm not complaining. The fish & shrimp made up for that.

When I tell you hot outta the grease fish and shrimp....Mmmmmmm mmmmmm delicious is an understatement. JJ's has exceeded my expectations as it relates to a fried fish establishment. My BFF took me there and all I can say is I will definitely be going back for more of their fried fish goodness... Add hot sauce, bread and mustard and I'm kicking my feet under the table goodness. If you want some good fried fish, coleslaw, chicken wings, etc....JJs is the place. I went to the Metropolitan location and was pleasantly impressed. I'm not sure about their other two locals but this is spot on🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰

I was surprised to find out they sell more than just fish. They sell whole chicken wings the fries are good and they have pizza pockets. They have a drive-thru or you can go in. Which is good for me because I need the convenience of the drive-thru because of my limited mobility.

The only positives about this place is the food is good, prices are decent, and the service is borderline fast. Clearly they don’t spend any money on the exterior OR interior. Trash and old food litters the outside parking lot and inside looks like you just took a trip to the ‘80’s. Floors are dingy, furniture is dated, just throw the whole interior away… BUT if you’re just there to grab some good seafood at a decent price and couldn’t give a damn about decor, this is your place.

This food is great, but people will literately be wrapped around the parking lot and flowing out to the street level. So mind you they seem to only cook to order. So the definition of it being fast food.... Not So Fast... When you get the food though, you finally relieved you got it and it's delicious and hot. but you just waited 30+ min. So make sure you have gas in your car before you head there... it's on a hill/incline as well.

All my orders have came cooked to order. Last visit the chicken wings were over cooked and hard. Small as well and couldn't enjoy. The outside is dirty on the ground, and the inside is bit of a mess. Good food, but they need to clean inside and out.

Ironically it was good but not as GOOD as the larger order I had from Door Dash earlier the same day!! The fries were super mushy this time and I didnt get the coleslaw that I paid for with the order which in some ways may have been okay because the order we had earlier only tasted like mayo. OMG!!! So, my mother-in-law passed away in our home. My daughter brings over two chicken meal plates the same day (1 for me & the other foe herself). At the same time my husband had family stopping bye to see her at the house before the funeral home picked her up. Let me just say, 1 taste of the mushrooms kept me coming back for more. I shared my plate with a few family members but it was not enough. So, I sent my daughter to pick up a bigger order. Let's just say, EVERYONE who had a chance to have some of the fresh delicious wings, corn nuggets, or mushrooms are now hooked!!! Thank you JJ Fish & Chicken for comforting the family during a sad occasion. Customer for life.

For as busy as they were on 12/31, and I called in my order, and it still took over 1.5 hours, the order was Fantastic! Ive learned to place an online order instead of calling it in, they seem to react to those first. But overall job well done! If you are actually from Chicago and know what it actually tastes like, then you will be disappointed. It tastes fine, but it is not the same. I think the lemon pepper tastes different and they added the whole container on top of my catfish, which tasted nothing like catfish. I will not be coming back here. I will just wait until I visit the CHI like I've been doing for the past 8 years. Something's just need to stay where they at.

Wow were we surpised at how good the food is here. Good ole southern fried seafood. Seasoned well, cooked perfectly. The line stays long. Update: The food was good once and pretty awful on the second visit. The fish was either old or they fried it to death. Its super hard and we can't even bite a piece. The fries are oil logged and old as heck. No consistency in quality. Its hit or miss here.

I've order the fish (whiting) and shrimp meal. And let me tell you straight up scud missile to the mouth. Bomb fried seasoned flavor with the season add on at the end make sure you get enough on all your food each place ymmv with the seasoned generosity. I can say nothing bout this place is straight fire with the food. But to caveat the banana is cookie pudding. It's not one slice of banana in it. But the food is good.

Definitely one of my favorite go-to's for catfish. I love the fact that you can order them in nugget style and you receive a very large portion along with a side of choice. I also thoroughly enjoyed their chicken wings that are usually bounced in a powder seasoning we have named "crack dust" as it seems to be very addicting!! The only downside to this particular location is the wait to receive your meal can be quite lengthy. I highly recommend ordering online as this helps cut down the wait time. I forgot to grab pictures this time but since this is a favorite I'll post some the next time we go!

The whole wings are delicious and the fries are good. The couple of times I have been there the place was packed. (LOL)! I guess that means a lot of other people likes the food as well. Some of the best fried fish and chicken strips in town. It's always freshly cooked and fried to perfection. The lines are typically long so order ahead of possible. Go for the food, but the customer service. They are curt and straight to the point, so get your fish and go. Also note, they put seasoning on everything so if you don't want any, make sure to let them know in advance. Oh, one last thing. I don't think the speaker in the drive thru works, they're is a person outside taking orders instead.

The greeter outside was very polite but playful with a co worker. Got to the window to receive my order and her attitude was nasty. Didn't say a word handed me part of my order and closed the window as if I wasn't still sitting there.

Pro's...I love the food. It's a lot of food for the bucks. The fries are my favorite. I was introduced to the food through work. When I visited the restaurant, I had some doubts. Con's... the place isn't clean, it has food piled up around the bottom of tables, crumbs all over floor, it doesn't look well maintained and it has this over powering smell of raw sewage inside the establishment. I think if the building had a better up keeping, it would generate more business. Also, the staff were not very courteous. They were on their phones talking to each other while people waited in line to order. I would love to see this place do better on cleaning and training the staff on professionalism because the food is excellent!

We ordered the shrimp basket over the phone and it was good . It was ready when we arrived and fresh and hot . We love this place and every location in Atlanta is just as good. I’ve been every location so far so good. If you wanna know how to beat the wait order over the phone and just pick it up. I can’t do the wait . But I love the Shrimp and Wings and Okra those are the only things I get. And the frozen lemonade 😋😋 if you want fresh and hot chicken I would recommend this place. And I would recommend any location just call ahead.

I was first introduced to JJ's around 2006 in Pittsburgh. Being away from home (Georgia), it was the one place I could get food that reminded me of southern cooked food. My visit here wasn't bad but I ordered online and still waited about 15 minutes. The food was hot, order correct, the shrimps were really good and the chicken was fried a little too hard. I'm in no rush but will likely return at some point.

I ordered through the drive thru! The restaurant had someone come to your vehicle like Chick-fil-A!!! I expected to be in line for a hour but I was only there for 20 minutes. Yum.. I ordered cat fish, shrimp, chicken, fries and crab balls. All tasted great and had been made fresh to order with a season dusted all over. Fresh food instead of frozen battered seafood like most seafood places with a drive threw offer. The portions are nice and the prices are fair. The drive threw looked very slow but I ordered ahead waited maybe 10 min. Staff was a friendly and helpful eclectic group.

45 minute wait in the drive through, but it was worth it. I got catfish fillets w/ hush puppies, and wing dinner. It was excellent and fresh, only minor drawback was that they seem to put the same seasoning on the fish and chicken, not my preference but I still enjoyed it. I'll be back! I ordered the catfish nuggets and added the white season. Now the white season is pretty tasty on top of the fried food. It is highly addictive but still legal! Overall, you can get fresh fried food here.

A friend purchased a 4 piece wi gs and fries for me. I love the wing dust that they use on the wings and fries but must they put toooooo much on it. This seasoning is very spicy and salty so I am going to give my opinion on what I think they could do. For some customers that don't like their wings or fries too salty a good idea is to put a certain amount in a small souffle cup and serve along side of the food.

I'm not a fan of the ranch sugar salt they put on everything but their wings are pretty good. Their a bit on the greasy side when it comes to the fries, fish and chicken. The containers would melt because of the hot grease from the chicken even with the complimentary white bread being the grease catcher at the bottom of the container (🤢 not a fan of white bread anyway). The customer service was great and they are very attentive when you order. IT'S ALWAYS PACKED!!!! besides that , I'll eat here on my chest days 😌👌🏼.

It's a shady place. The parking lot is trashed and there are colorful individuals that seem to hang out there. The side door is sticky with 2 hand written notes on it, one reads 'pull hard, we're open.' The other sign reads, 'We cannot accept cards of any kind!'...The first sign I took seriously, and I really had to pull the door hard because it sticks. The second sign, well, it's not the kinda place you want to use your credit cards at, anyway. So, pull up to the counter, the restaurant is empty. The cooks are staring at me from behind the line. The counter lady saunters over from the drive through window and slowly realizes I'm standing there. So, I order. Surprisingly, the cooks were really fast, they were ready. I was ordering for a few people, so it was a big order. They had me out the door in less than 10mins. with 20 whole chicken wings, 20 shrimp, and about 2lbs worth of fries. She asked if I wanted the special seasoning, to which I replied, 'Of course!' And, most importantly, all the hot sauce I could carry. The food was delicious, cooked to order, and smelling it on the way back to work just about drove me crazy. So, I was nearly in a frenzy when it came time to eat. The chicken wings were perfect!! Hot, crispy, juicy, and the special seasoning with the hot sauce is pure happiness incarnate. So, in short, shady place, delicious food. But, just stick with the chicken and the shrimp, the fries are just too much...So good!!

This combo meal comes with fries, a drink and coleslaw for the very affordable price of 10.49! I would advise to call ahead if you can to avoid a longer wait time! It's a real hole in the wall and sometimes there is a bit of a wait so don't go there on your lunch break unless you can order it in advance over the phone first. Other than that, it's reasonably priced and the food comes out fresh and hot! Jj's sprinkle this lemon peppered powdered dust over the food so if you don't want that white stuff sprinkled on the food be sure to tell them when you place your order! Most Seafood and combination dinners starts at $7.90 and snacks at $5. Most of the side items are $3

The customer service experience this evening was the worst I've experienced since coming to JJ'S. Since Covid I've ordered all of my orders through JJ's online to beat the wait and each time my boyfriend has went in to pay for our food. Today he proceeded to ask for our order by my last name and was asked for my ID. That would've been okay if I paid online with my card however he was paying with cash. I walked up to the register to offer to show my receipt of the transaction in my phone and was still asked for my I'D. The cashier could not give a valid reason why my I'D was needed besides it being policy which I asked to be showed and/or talk to a manager, neither was done. I see the staff is new since our last visit on October 18, maybe going back to the hiring board is needed.

JJ Fish is a staple in some northern cities like where I'm from so we sought this place out. The good news is fish is good and so are the chicken wings. However, when you order you should be prepared to wait at least thirty minutes. They only cook the food to order so it's long waits for everyone. I didn't like that our fries were cooked in chicken grease. How hard is it to have a deep fryer just for fries. Don't assume we can't tell and taste the difference. All in all the good is good so if they could do something about the wait we'd travel here more often.

DINGY and on one of the worst roads in Atlanta, but the food is good. CALL IN!! If you go through the drive-through, expect to wait 15 to 20 minutes sometimes sitting in your car. They make it as you order it and it takes a while. Is best to call in at least 20 minutes ahead of time. When you go in the bathroom, be careful. It's rather one down in the woman's bathroom.

At 1130p.m., only the drive-thru is open and the location isn't as pleasant we'd like. Nevertheless, after bowling at Metro Fun Center, we order a Chicken Breast & Gizzard dinner, and it's the most well seasoned gizzard I've had in all my years in GA! Seems like a healthy portion of them as well (I'm sneaking peaks). I haven't made it home yet; I'm on the passenger side munching, and it seems these gizzards won't make it either! They sprinkle MSG on your food after it's done. MSG is a chemical responsible for memory loss! This place is a hole in the wall. The parking lot and the outside of the building is ragety! The inside needs remodeling but they do cook the food cook to order and there is a 15-20 minute wait in the drive thru when you order your meal. It is best to order your meal when you have time to wait otherwise you won't make it back to work on time. Most of the meals with drink is on average about $12 give or take and it is enough to feed 2 people..

I've seen this place many times on my way to Lee Tire or AutoZone and figured I'd give it a shot today. My fish and fries were super salty but tasty and crispy. The highlight was that this place was really busy with a lot of cross talk, sort of a cultural hotspot of Atlanta. There was a gentleman playing a three card Monte variant (or cups and shells) who was super entertaining, I talked with him a bit but avoided playing his game for money despite his seemingly not being terribly good at it :P

This was my first time at jj's I drove from McDonough to try it, the food was BOMB fresh to order hot seasoned to perfection just yummy! Now the service was absolutely nasty, they should have to wear uniform because the cashier panties were hanging out of her pants. When she went over to pack the food up and put it in the bag you could see through the whole on the side of her shirt. Once she came to take my order she was looking all over the restaurant instead of paying me any mind, I placed my order of wings,shrimp and fries which would also came with Cole slaw and a drink. But when I went to pick my order up she once again was not paying attention and didn't give me my soda and their wasn't any Cole slaw in my tray. I didn't realize til I got home 35mins later, hopefully I can call today and they give me my order back and it be right this time. YES OVER SODA AND COLE SLAW they should have this in a organized fashion hell they been in business since 1959!

I'm in between 3.5 and 4 stars! Lemonade is AWESOME!! Wings & Fish are good. They give you a small cup of cole slaw (like Blue Cheese/Ranch dressing for wings small). I'm thinking maybe let me switch out fries. Only have white bread...I like wheat...so it's wasted. Tartar sauce in packets like ketchup. Key Lime cake taste like cake with food coloring...no lime taste at all....I squoze fresh key limes on it...let it sit a day...much better! My friend had the pound cake and said it was Awesome!

I like jj fish, but i did not have a good experience at the metro lanes location. I wanted the four piece dark piece, but when they said it would be 20 minutes, i just got the four piece wings as they suggested so i don't have to wait. I ended up not getting my food until 20 minutes later. No compensation, remorse, genuine apology or anything. Completely defeated the purpose, and i could have gotten my dark pieces waiting that long...plus just plain ghetto...

Man oh man oh man. I have been living on the southside for 13 years in search of a spot that sells whole fried wings and not party wings for a very long time. Why amI just now discovering this spot. I listened to my co-workers go on and on about how good these wings taste. Today its pouring raining and I'm not trying to go out there so I jump on Door Dash and see what I can find. Bang!!! JJ's Fish. I ordered 6 piece wings and fries, zucchini fries and a 9 piece nuggets and fries. I needed a variety because I never had it before now. Oh I also ordered that famous Lenonade. Its like crack omg. The wings are fried and seasoned perfectly. No feathers. They add what looks like some ranch seasoning on everything but it doesn't need that. The food is seasoned enough. I ate five perfectly cooked wings. Saved all the rest for later. Definitely worth the $7.60. The nuggets were $3.49. Thats a steal.

JJ Fish & Chicken is a fast food franchise originating from a famous Chicago eatery on Martin Luther King Drive in Chicago, Illinois. The flagship restaurant was started by James J. Green in 1982 and quickly became a local favorite for serving fresh fish and only fish. The restaurants increased popularity lead to rapid expansion and spread the concept across the country, with several franchises right here in the greater Atlanta area. However, with rapid growth come issues, although the over all concept is similar the local stores do not offer the full menu of the Chicago stores. Moreover, many of the Atlanta locations are individually owned and account for notable differences in the quality of food preparation and service. The Metropolitan avenue location has had issues from the moment they took over the building from Popeye's. Since opening their doors and for a year or more after the was a strong foul order of what smelled like a backed up sewer when you entered. At times the smell was non existent but other times it was eye watering nauseating, which is the reason I suspect why Popeye's left that property for a new facility. The owner operators at that time where good guys but clearly way over their heads and it was reflected in the overall chaos of the store, from rude and roguish employees ignoring and arguing with customers to orders being improperly recorded and food incorrectly ticketed, misplaced or mixed up and given to the wrong customers. Initially food was cooked to order, however this caused more confusion and added delay which angered impatient customers. Subsequently, this lead to certain items like chicken wings being pre-cooked and sitting in big pans on the side. Then when ordered they would be submerged them into the hot grease for a quick warm up. But you never knew how long they had been cooked or if flies had landed on them. Also the food had an excessively greasy taste when this method was employed. Nevertheless, through all of these issues the food was considerably good with a consistency that was acceptable if you enjoyed fried foods from a fast food joint. Approximately, 4 months ago a new partnership was formed with the original owner operators of the Metropolitan location. The new team are experienced in the restaurant business and brought a new management team, perspective and work ethic. There was a bit of a learning curve as the new team endeavored to learn the process and the patrons, however they quick flatten the curve out and were up to speed on improving the over all cleanliness, efficiency and customer service performance. In fact the place no longer has the putrid smell, the cleanliness of the store has improved beyond acceptable, and the employees have become more attentive, respectful as they expedite orders with appreciated quickness. Perhaps, this enhanced speed of service is because they employ the same pre-cooked methods as the old management team, regardless the food is still solidly good, hot and plentiful. It is not the caliber of the Chicago originals, but if you like fried food from seafood to wings then this maybe a place worth trying.
