Reviews of Cajun Blues
My favorites were fried crispy seafood platter, shrimp scampi, tartar sauce.
Gumbo: average and a bit salty.
No ginger wings were available.
No live music in the wintertime.
Happy hour drink prices are good. You can order any beverage for 25% off.
This is a cozy place to go, chat, and hang out with friends if you're in the area.
What a gem! Stopped in for lunch with a seafood loving friend.
•Spicy Gumbo was fantastic.
•Fried shrimp were as good as any coastal seafood joint. Super fresh.
•Shrimp Po Boy was excellent & HUGE!
•Best Surprise: Philly Cheesesteak! Was sliced NY Strip. -Not a ton of meat, but enough to fill you up. Bread super fresh too! (Was so good forgot to take a picture first)
•Military Friendly too!
Our server was supersweet & very attentive.
Will be back for sure!
I've come here a couple times since I live in the area. The first time was because I was craving some fresh oysters. The oysters were great and the bartender, Cory, was very nice and accommodating. The second time was to grab a drink and hear some live music. It was more packed but I had a good time. The same bartender was there and made sure to provide me with a much needed libation.
The music was also really great. It was nice to sip and hear some live music. I also appreciated the cleanliness of the ladies restroom. Sometimes those things are a toss-up at restaurants.
I look forward to coming back for more live music, drinks and to try more dishes.
We went there with a large group of friends. The crawfish was okay guess out of season so understandable. All other things were good, even the salad and French fries were super tasty. Very good service too and family ambient. Taking one star off because food was salty for all of us.
I was in the area and happened to see Cajun Blues and decided to stop in for a quick bite. It was around lunchtime on a weekday. There were only a handful of people in the restaurant. Rita (Auntie) told me I could sit wherever I wanted, so I sat at the bar. She gave me the run down of the restaurant; everyone is family. I really liked that she makes it a point to get to know everyone and make the restaurant kinda like Cheers.
I ordered the fried calamari and char grilled oysters. The food came out pretty quickly and was good. The oysters could've been cooked a little longer. They tasted like raw oysters topped with baked Parmesan.
I will definitely be back for the live music and dinner.
We ordered The Gumbo as a starter! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ We also ordered the whiting fish Po Boy, the ginger wings and fries. The service from Monique was very good. She was very personable and the restaurant was very nice inside… can’t wait to return for dinner and jazz!!! ❤️❤️❤️
This food is always amazing. I love the customer service, you can definitely tell that the people here love their job. I eat here at minimum once a week. I would recommend Cajun blues to all my friends and family. There has not been a single item I tried that I didn’t love. Oh yeah ask for that gumbo, I hope they name it after me lol as much as I get it.
Cajun Blues is my favorite "goto" spot for live music and seafood. The food is awesome, the Entertainment Coordinator, Ritah Wilburn has wonderful bands and jam sessions, to entertain you. The staff is great!!!! Always pleasant, smiling and willing to get the job done when there is 8 to 10 of us every time we go and we go often. I, love that when weather permits the band and tables are set up in the parking lot. What better than great food, live music, friends and dancing all under the stars! FABULOUS! To, the owners, Charles and Sunny, thank you for bring Cajun Blues to the neighborhood.
Expectations were low as it's hard to find good cajon/creole food away from home (native Louisiana CA here). Gumbo is a strong 4.5 stars. Tasty, spicy but a bit salty which could be a personal preference.
Shrimp PO Boy, fail. 1 star. It was tasty, shrimp had good flavor but one of the most basic things that nearly all restaurants outside of New Orleans get wrong, is the bread. It is NEVER served on a soft hoagie roll. Bread needs to be crisp, tough but soft on the inside French 🥖 bread. Normally no big deal but when your specialty is Cajun food and list a Po boy on the menu, getting one of the main ingredients is important. Other wise its just a expensive sandwich. Will try again and update review based on other dishes.
1st time visiting on Friday for lunch. Very pleasant young man taking my to go order. New local business recently opened near Bowlmor Bowling.
Very tasty Grouper Po Boy...well seasoned, tasty sauce and cole slaw, soft bread and good portion size. Fries verrrry good and hot! Broccoli was too spicy but good. Everything was so good that by the time I got home to eat with hubby..he had to make a second trip to order another Po Boy because it was sooo good..lol.
Not many grilled seafood sandwich options. Grilled seafood plates available but price pretty high compared to restaurants more higher quality.
Looking forward to visiting again for dinner!
MUST TRY, Wonderful experience! I’m so happy I stopped by this place on my way home. I am beyond pleased, the customer service provided by Justin and the other staff was impeccable! The food esp the gumbo was so delicious! The Blueberry Lemonade Vodka was sooo good and different! I am definitely going to return, I found my new favorite restaurant in Chamblee!
The week had been challenging for both of us, and we decided to stop on impulse.
I've not usually been impressed with Cajun food except in New Orleans visiting my daughter, but Cajun Blues proved that good Cajun food exists outside Louisiana.
Service was quite good. The food was delicious. My wife loves bone-in catfish but hadn't eaten any in a long time until Cajun Blues. She loved it. I had mussels, which have long been a favourite of mine and thought they were exceptionally well prepared. The only weak result were the hush puppies, but the fried okra was superb.
I love Blues music and look forward to returning on a night when it is featured. If you are looking for a splurge one night, I think you'll find few better options.
We were greeted by a wonderful lady that was happy, sweet and full of smiles. The decor was great and the food was outstanding without being overpriced. A great place to eat.
Cajun Boil is absolutely delicious and priced great!! This was our third time there and never fails to be great! The best part was the price!! $13 for a pound of crawfish amazing
Got busy very quickly didn't have alot of alcohol drinks on menu. Food was tasty and entertainment was awesome Live band had from my 75 yr old mother to my 2 years old grandchild engaged!
This place is a great addition to the dining scene in the area. I've been there three times for lunch during the week. It is quiet (3 or 4 other tables). The service is friendly. The food is solid. I strongly recommend you ask your server what the best items on the menu are. The gumbo is outstanding. Oyster po-boy also very good.
I was excited that there is finally a seafood place in my area. The place is small quaint, they have a little stage for live band performance in Saturday either outside or inside various on the weather. Karaoke on Wednesday. We decided to do take out since we were little late the restaurant closed at 3:00pm. The nice hostess finally got the manager to take our order. The Manager was nice and welcoming. I ordered shrimp platter that had hush puppies, sides:fried okra and steamed rice. My 2nd friend got crab cake sandwich w/ fries. My 3rd friend ordered the po boy w/fries which was really good.
Been wanting to try this place out. Randomly came in on a Sunday night and there was a show (the band was incredible!). The food was great, the staff was friendly and quick. The environment is chill. Definitely going back to try some of the fried seafood and crawfish.
The gumbo slaps!
This place is amazing, I always order the lobster tails and crawfish it it’s always fresh and delicious, it definitely has New Orleans flavor and the staff is so awesome, I love the music(blues) they play and the atmosphere is absolutely soothing. I eat there at least 3 times a week! Highly recommend spot for real delicious seafood
Enjoyed a nice casual Cajun dinner at a good price point. Gumbo was really good! Nice spice kick and balanced seasoning. Will be back to the try more seafood options.
Everything was simply amazing. Came with my girl. She had the grouper poboy and I had the grilled shrimp with broccoli and rice and everything was perfect. The shrimp melted in my mouth with flavorful bursts. The broccoli was not to soft not to hard and seasoned well. The Poboy was awesome, quite frankly it’s just all around awesome. Aunty made us a drink not on the menu and it fit the mood so well. She earned a lifetime customer tonight.
Went here for the first time recently. The service and the food was great (our party of three got the fried grouper, fried snapper and grilled shrimp platters); give them a try if you haven't!
The food was delicious. Had the seafood gumbo and it was delicious. I will most definitely try other things on their menu.
I really enjoyed my meal here - I got the po boy which was, I swear, better than anything I've had in new Orleans. Service was also wonderful. I came with two other people who did mention that some of their food was spicy, so something to be aware of if you are sensitive to spice. Order the peanut butter cocktail - you will not be disappointed! Also, the restaurant has live music on Fridays at 7, with a cover charge starting at 6pm.
Checked it out for a takeout order
Looks to be a good spot. The bartender was cool. Will have to get back to check out the live music.
The gumbo was good and spicy. Fried shrimp/whiting and I think oysters with broccoli & red potatoes. All was good.
Great food, service and ambiance. Prices are a bit high but worth it. I had the Surf & Turf. The Steak was spectacular and the shrimp excellent. This place will amaze your taste buds.
What also impacted me was the manager lining up the tables, only the best managers do this.
I had the fried oyster poboy with fried okra. I also ordered a cup of gumbo. The food is really flavorful!
The fried snapper was the best I had in years and the portion size was generous which hastens my return. The establishment is new with not enough wait staff, however the server was warm and accommodating. All new businesses need time to work out the kinks. I look forward with great expectations to my next meal at Cajun Blue.
Had lunch with a couple of coworkers and we thoroughly enjoyed it. The crispy combo plates were nicely done. I had swai, shrimp and oysters. It was not too crowded but people came in as we were there. Our server was super attentive and made sure everything was good for us throughout.
From the cooks to the hostess and waiters was excellent. Great food. Well, be back SOON...
Wasn't very busy for lunch but the shrimp poboy was good!! Look forward to coming back to try some other things!!
Best shrimp poboy I've ever tasted!! Great atmosphere and friendly staff!! Definitely will be back and bringing friends!!
The service was good & food was good drinks kinda juiced down. Just recently open I heard so they time to work out the kinks.
Service and food were both great. Really appreciated some of the options which were a little beyond standard. The appetizer wings were huge and akin to chinese fried chicken wings, and the breading was almost like hushpuppy batter, I felt, which was nice. There were some classic NOLA standards like a sazarac on the drinks menu! Will definitely be back.
Great food. Friendly, fun staff. We really enjoyed the grilled snapper and the crispy shrimp.
Great service and food! Love the atmosphere!
Delicious food, and super service! Great quality music and fun ambiance. Will definitely come back.
We had a very good time at Cajun Blues tonight. But there were some issues. I'll start with the bad and end with the good.
Our waiter did not enter our order correctly and we had to ask a couple of times for items, missing salad, missing shrimp, missing crab utensils. We found that some of the food was under seasoned and some were undercooked. Our potatoes from our boils were not cooked and the replacement for one order was not cooked, and we never received the second reorder. We found that the steak and shrimp boils were not seasoned well. The waiter blamed the food being slow because they only had two cooks tonight. Finally, we were charged 18% gratuity on the total bill (tax included) for 6 people, of which only 5 main dishes were ordered. Our group consisted of 4 adults and 2 children under 12.
Now, for the good. The fried shrimp was on point. The Dungeonous crab was excellent. The gumbo was seasoned superbly and had a great kick to it. The chocolate bomb was a massive hit. The live band was a great addition and the atmosphere was electric and the absolute best part of the night.
Overall, it was good but not out off this world. I will be glad to try it again in the future and compare results.
Love this place. Lots of hometown warmth. I am a musician and got to place at a jam. Loved the food that I came back the next day. I loved the broil fish. Had it twice. Wonderful slaw. My wife loved the shrimp. Well made broiling. People there were great. both the staff and bringing friendly customers.
I went for a family birthday, and the atmosphere was amazing! They had live music, and the whole dining room came alive. The food is great if a little pricey, but you can't beat the overall experience. It's a perfect addition to Dunwoody's food scene and exactly what was missing!
Good experience. I had fried whiting, shrimp, ginger wings, clam chowder and a strawberry margarita. Everything was good. Everbody is nice and i love the design of this restaurant. I plan to visit every week. 👍💝 …
Great meal! I had the grouper po boy and gumbo. I will definitely be back soon.
Great food. Opens at 1130 am on Saturday, not 11am like it may say on Google maps
Thurs nite jam w Sandra Sean... anotha CHICK DRUMMER! A MUST SEE. She let me beat on the drums too! wowzer MUCH FUN!
This little place is very nice. The staff was great the food was good also. They also had a live band as well. This place is in Atlanta Georgia. If you are ever in the area look them up. I guarantee you will like it too.
Wow. Just wow. Ambience, food, authenticity and service were all on point. I am definitely going back. Live blues band rocking the house with every bite, gumbo was delish. I can't wait to have the po'boy.
The gumbo was sooo good, the service was great. The only reason I give 3 stars, is because of the raw oysters. Whoever shucked them didn’t shuck them properly so I was eating mini pieces of shells. I hate that, can’t even enjoy your oysters because you’re pulling shells out your mouth.
This Place is simply the best in Chamblee! The food is great! The servers were pleasant. I will be back Again for sure! So we visited this place for the second time and the Band was Good then of course Ms. Ritah put the cherry on the night. Please go hear this lady sing.
I ate there last Saturday omg the food was amazing I ordered the surf and turf it was delicious and the amount of food you get. The hostess was super nice I would definitely go back again if your thinking about trying this place out you will not regret it.
Great place for Jazz and hip-hop music and great seafood on the menu, love this place...
Seriously the best seafood boil in Atlanta Area. We had shrimps, snow crab legs, mussels, crawfish and side of corn. The food was great ! Great quality, very tasty food.
We picked up takeout from this new spot and it was delicious! We had shrimp po boys with a side of gumbo….so much flavor! Will definitely be back.
New sweet lil gem is Cajun Blues! The atmosphere is festive, food is super flavorful and delicious including the deserts!
The keylime & Carmel pies are Wow moments!
That New Orleans Cajun cuisine hits!!!!
What's really going on tho, is Ms Ritah Wilburn as both hostess and house vocalist 🎙🎶 adding that flair, that touch👌🏾...so personalble & most entertaining. You will not be disappointed!
Stay tuned for more updates and expansion to come...just gets sweeter! Free parking, $10 cover
Great food and great vibe! The live band was awesome!
Amazing customer service. I will most definitely visit every time I’m in town!
Our waitress was very familiar with the menu. She was very attended to our needs. She came back to check on us. She was very nice. Food delicious and the atmosphere was very.

The perfect amount of spice and flavor!! Definitely a fantastic place for some great Cajun food!!! The live music is incredible as well!!
Gumbo was great I’m from Louisiana I have never came so clear to home I also tried the fried shrimp and tilapia platter was also great I highly recommend !!!
One of the best fried shrimp I’ve ever tasted…great service. Food is fresh and so tasty. Will visit again…
Great service... Good food... Nice atmosphere.👍
This is the old Mad Italian location on Savoy and they have done a pretty nice job reinventing the space with a fresh take to this location, bringing seafood into the space. The Raw oysters were large and delicious and didnt need a condiment! The fried oyster poor boy was full of fried oysters with a delicious sauce and coleslaw like serving on the bottom of the bun. The andouille sausage was dissappointing, tasting more like a hot dog than anything else. Chopped salad is not chopped. Music is enjoyable and very different for this area but perfect for the spot.
They do not have a liquor license yet and encourage bringing your own bottle with no additional charges incurred. The staff is friendly and caring
Recently opened a new seafood restaurant and wonderful interiors with a boat. I would like to have a my birthday day party with my friends this year. Recommended.
