Happy Anniversary to my husband of 13 years! We stopped by Ben's on a whim for lunch. The dinning room has a classy but laid back atmosphere. The service was great. I got the fish and chips, which was served with Cajun fries. It was a nontraditional but delicious flavor fish, more than I could eat. I highly recommend checking this place out if you are in the area.

The calamari that we came for lived up to its online praise, with a flavorsome, crispy batter. It wasn't so thick that you couldn't taste the squid, or so thin that it would shatter from a single fork prod. Most importantly - someone in the kitchen had a deft and restrained hand with the Cajun seasoning. It was just there to provide a tingle and spice, but not so much that we'd need to lap at the fire hydrant after dinner. In essence, it was - without exaggeration - one of the best fried calamari we'd ever encountered. The only thing that would've pushed this over the top would have been Thai sweet chili sauce at the table (arguably the best condiment for fried calamari. I'll fight you on that.) I was initially disappointed that the serving size was smaller than I would've liked, but I've also never met a serving size big enough to satisfy me, so take that as you will. While I would've happily made a dinner out of six baskets of fried calamari, my husband has a far better mind about eating healthy stuff and being nutritious and all that. We ordered a few other things, including clam chowder. Since our San Francisco trip, daily longings for chowder have hit hard, so we were delighted to find that the serving size here is pretty generous. It wasn't Golden Gate good, but with meaty clam chunks and tender chunks of potatoes throughout, it scratched the itch beautifully (if you order it, you'll almost definitely have to salt it yourself because it was bland when it got to the table. Great Smyrna crab boil spot! Solid seafood appetizers and your choice of seasoning and spice on the boiled crab legs. Thoughtful and attentive wait staff keeps things running smoothly. The building itself had a great layout with a variety of indoor and outdoor seating options.

Had the oysters, muscles, hennessy margaritas, crawfish, garlic noodles, salmon risotto and was absolutely blown away by everything. By far the best seafood I’ve had in Georgia and I’ve lived here since 2003 and in Savannah. Just amazing food and flavor. Haven’t been able to go to a new restaurant and have been this taken back in forever. Just fabulous overall. Well worth the visit!!!!!!!

Great spot! Woman behind the bar was young, but really knew her mixology :) I was able to give her my pallet and she made me a perfect cocktail. Can’t beat skill like that! Food was great; especially the raw oysters! Staff was friendly. Dog friendly back patio & being next to an open container park to walk in is a big plus! Plus they have plenty of TVs to request channels to watch big sports games. Can’t wait to come back ☺️

This is a late post from my visit - BUT - I am on it now!!! Ben’s Crab & Seafood it’s TOTALLY AMAZING!! I love everything about it — the amazing food, friendly ambience, and awesome service. MUCH BETTER THAN JUICY CRAB!!! The garlic butter seasoning on these crab legs was the best I’ve had in a long time. It was full of flavor and so garlicky- just the way I like it. They have other flavors if garlic isn’t your thing. I also got a cocktail made with Hennessy that Jade, the bartender made and it was delicious and strong, too. Mikailah was my waitress and she was so sweet and attentive. And Javier the manager was also very nice. I can’t wait to visit them again and try other things on the menu but the crab legs were so good I’m not sure I’ll try anything else.

We ordered to go so idk about dining in experience but we really enjoyed our meals. Both got fried soft shell crab one sandwich and one meal/plate. The Cajun fries are great and even though I wasn’t hungry after that sandwich I kept eating the fries. The fried crab had flavor and definitely hit the spot when it comes to craving seafood and fried crab. We will be back for a dine in experience soon. No pictures because we scarfed everything down as soon as we got home.

This place was amazing! , We just stop on Ben's crab Seafood & Bar , Smyrna! .A young person named Bryant is so nice, very nice and I don't know that he's a manager at the store, I'm so happy that a young man who wants to try to learn how to build this business, Ben's crab is now my favorite place with the family. Mine was order pork chops is so good, I swear it's great food and my husband order some combo catch it was perfectly fresh meals and I'm sure me and my family will come back again. Food is pack with so much flavor & nice portion with reasonable price ! For the service is understandable if they need to be improve, all of this because they just open & short of good experience staff …. (now days everywhere lack of staff 🤗) - so please for those think they give bad service just give them break & be understanding ) Be kind to spread the word about they hiring people now 🥰 ! The rest is clean and for the menu so much food option 👍🏻, especially for kids menu wow, they very generous about the portion ! Will be back there this weekend with my hubby 🥰

When I fist experienced Ben's Crab it was in NY on Long Island. Happy we now have a location in Georgia. Ben's Crab Seafood on 1061 Concord Road SE, in Smyrna, GA The experience was excellent then and now. The food was flavorful, started with Hush Puppies (they were great). My wife had the Combo C and demanded to take home what she had left. Possible a midnight snack. The server Lana was new, she delivered service and customer engagement. My fellow Georgians show our love and visit Ben's Crab Seafood, also chechout the Bar for its drinks.

Such a hidden gem. This spot is amazing especially, when the weather is warm. Their downstairs patio and upstairs dining is great for family and friends gatherings. Not to mention they have great TV's to watch. The bartenders are on point. I look forward to visiting again and try other menu options.

We had the shrimp basket on the appetizer menu. One with fries, one with roasted potatoes. It was very filling because there were 10 shrimp in each basket. We loved the dusting of Cajun spice and the lightest crust. They were fried but not greasy.

Tonight was my second visit and I was not disappointed in the quality of the food and service. Last time had the fish and chips which I will have to admit found odd as they classified as appetizer. Usually served as entree and was same portion size as other entrees. New England clam chowder delicious. Tonight had lobster roll. Was good. Please note that gratuity included in total. Not sure if they automatically include irrespective of party size - just check your ticket. Overall great addition to Smyrna area!

My mother and I enjoyed this establishment on a Saturday evening. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our waiter came and took our order and was attentive the whole time. The seafood was fresh and came out quickly. My mother got the fried shrimp basket which came with a nice helping of large shrimp and Cajun fries. I had the 1/2lb crawfish bag with their signature sauce. Everything had a great flavor. I dropped one of my crawfish and they were so nice to replace it with 2 fresh ones! Everyone was friendly, even one of the owners stopped by the table and chatted with us for a few minutes. We will probably visit here again!

Pretty decent place with friendly staff. The style of restaurant is steam bags where you pick your sauce and what seafood to add. I got the shrimp and lobster tossed in their spicy caju seasoning. The seasoning was quite good, but I wouldn't call the "spicy" level all spicy. A lot of reviews that say there's no flavor are either used to old seafood with a fishy flavor, really like their Cajun seasoning hot, or have covid.

Personally not a fan of the seafood boil bag because of my sauce selection - the Ben Sauce which was cakey and just not that good/flavorful. The crab legs were slightly overcooked but still edible. However, the shrimp was perfect! I added andouille sausage and wasn't too impressed. But hubby enjoyed the fried shrimp basket. The fries were amazing! We got beer and cider to drink, not sure how the mixed drinks taste. I would try again but wouldn't do the seafood boil. They have a nice outdoor ambiance if the weather permits (not too hot/too cold). Staff was hard working and attentive so it wasn't all bad, just got to be better with my selections. They also have other non-seafood options that are specials like porkchops and pasta dishes.

Ordered take-out. I had to wait a little longer than I’d expect to place an order but I understand it’s a Saturday evening and it was busy when I arrived. My order was ready and I was in and out in less than 1 minute. Nice menu options. I ordered the Fried Shrimp basket and a Garlic Butter Large Shrimp Pasta. Good flavor with both. I didn’t really get Cajun flavor but it is nicely seasoned and tasty food. Will sub something different for the Cajun fries that came with my basket (they were fine…I’m not that big a fry person). Nice size shrimp and portions for both. I also couldn’t believe the price. Very reasonable. I will be back.

We went opening week and had fun. I hadn’t had crab in ages, so we ordered two crab entrees with different sauces. Can’t go wrong with traditional old bay seasoning. The garlic butter was also delicious. The shrimp app with fries was fresh and well seasoned. They got our order wrong, but were very quick to try and fix it. We decided to not send it back to the kitchen, since it wasn’t too much of an issue. The pacing of getting seated, getting drinks, apps, and the entree was well spaced out. I didn’t feel like there was too long to wait between “courses”. The staff is very friendly, attentive, and welcoming. Definitely will be going back and making it a local frequent hangout.

Love this place. The food is excellent and the staff are all super friendly. My favorites are the oysters, clam chowder and gumbo, garlic shrimp pasta and Cajun shrimp pasta. Also Ben's has a great selection of beer. The top patio also has a great view of the park.

I went with my family and we had a great experience. The boils were great and the combined seasoning was awesome. My only small complaint is there was barely any meat in the crab legs and the corn could be cooked a little longer. But Overall great food, atmosphere & service. We’ll definitely be back.

Chose this place for an in school event (where multiple people ordered and had lunch together) there were about 15 orders. I was assured the day before that the staff would get in early to prepare the meal so that it could be delivered by 11:30…it arrived after noon…it was very good though. I believe for a fairly new restaurant they did a good job. The portion sizes were reasonable for the price point. This is our second time ordering from this restaurant and we will order again.

The garlic butter sauce is delicious and just goes with everything! We also had the oysters and they were really fresh. Can't wait to go back there and try the other entrées, especially now that it's warm enough to sit in the patio or the rooftop.

We finally had a chance to stop for dinner last night. We had a party of 21 and glad that the restaurant can accommodate us. Food came fast and tasted excellent. I noticed that they have a rooftop and an outdoor seating can't wait to come back and sear there when the weather is warmer. We will definitely come back when we crave for seafood!

The place was nice. Business was slow and quiet when we visited and for about the first half hour we were the only ones in there. Wait staff seemed a little inexperienced and not personable. Food was ok. Not the best. Not seasoned like you believe seafood would be. I'm debating on going again just to validate my initial feelings.

I’m very picky about my shrimp po boys. First of all the architecture is top of the line. The manager and the owners come out and speak with you and care about how they are doing and how they can be better that’s also 👏. They have a vibrant staff and the upstairs patio is my recommendation for seating. Now for the food. Of course I had the po boy and my date had the crab legs. Because I am into health and watch my salt intake I recommend this place they use very little salt and that is much appreciated. The crab legs were tasty and the po boy was good. I will come back at least once a week. The flavoring was good and the presentation was nice. Go support this new business. The cheese cake with chocolate and strawberries was perfection.

TLDR: Food is okay, Beer selection is not great, service is good, restaurant is clean. Long version: We will give this place another shot, but after a closer look at all of the 5 star reviews, many of them are from people in NY which is where this restaurant originates, so take that into consideration. The rating is inflated. Service was great and attentive, but to be honest it wasn’t that busy, so it could go either way. We are outside and the tables were very clean. Beer selection is terrible. Mostly domestics with a handful of “craft” beers that are everywhere (think Abita and Terrapin). Beer is priced decently unless you want a $6 high life. They’ve got a couple of ciders on there too if that’s your thing. The one carryover from Wade’s is that they also have the fried cheese curds which are delicious on their own, but now they’re served with a generic ketchup/mayo based sauce that also came with the fried shrimp. The sauce is terrible but it’s not needed. That brings us to the fried shrimp. Portion size is really nice and honestly cheap. The “Cajun” fries are a miss. There’s really no heat or spice there. Shrimp was cooked well but also no real flavor to the breading. I think asking for cocktail or garlic butter would help, as the sauce that came with it was kinda gross. Shrimp Po’boy wasn’t memorable, again it’s just lacking flavor. The ingredients are all there but it’s just bland. Again no heat where you would expect it. We brought the kids and both ordered the chicken tender meal which is definitely pre-frozen and out of a bag. I didn’t expect that as most local spots at least have their own breaded chicken that’s fresh, but this was over fried and dry. The kids didn’t eat it even with ketchup. They plowed through their French fries naturally. Bottom line is that I would try it again because there is quite a bit of room for improvement and the food wasn’t terrible. This is still a great location and atmosphere. I was expecting something better but it’s not great, it’s just okay.

I dined in at Ben's Crab & Seafood Bar for my bestie's birthday with a group of five ladies. I made the reservation about a week before. Upon arrival, I got one of the last spots in their parking lot, but there was an extra lot across the street to accommodate the overfill. Three of us arrived early, so we went in to check in. There seemed to be confusion around the reservation, but the manager resolved it quickly and seated us before the birthday girl arrived. I was able to ask the hostess (who became our server), Valerie and the manager to help us surprise the birthday girl with dessert. They executed that and I really appreciated that. There were quite a few hiccups during dinner that affected the overall experience. This is the reason for my deduction. The service was a 3. I rate my food 4 out of 5 because it came out fresh and had great flavor. Once the five of us were seated, it took a while for our server to come to our table. There seemed to be confusion around who was our server initially. Our hostess became our server and it was clear that she was in training. She did her best to ensure accuracy and was extremely sweet. My friends ordered alcoholic drinks and there was a mix up with two of my friends' Strawberry Hennessey Margaritas. They brought out regular strawberry margaritas. One friend was cool with leaving it as is, and the other was not, so the bartender brought it over as a remake. Our food came out one by one, and this was strange. By the time seat 5 got their food, the first seat was almost finished with their meal. My first appetizer (lemon pepper wings and fries) came out before my second one (fried calamari), almost as it was forgotten about. The server forgot to provide napkins and other items needed for boils (two of my friends ordered seafood boils) and there were no drink refills offered. It also took about 25 minutes to pay for our checks so we could leave. We were one of the last parties to leave the restaurant. Overall, the experience was okay. I think that it will be better once they work the kinks out. I would return because the food was good and affordable.

The shrimp and garlic pasta was amazing. The dozen raw oysters I ordered were poorly shucked and cleaned and almost all were still stuck to the shell and was also full of shell pieces. Overall a solid seafood spot with good menu options.

A. I want to say that it was nice to see that something opened in the Old Wade Spot.. It was a nice location to meet up with the family when we head to the Smyrna area. B. The Staff is delightful and attentive and we were very pleased with how quickly they did things. C. I am a little disappointed with the pricing, Wine prices were WAY above the level this restaurant should be at, the mixed cocktails (the one I had was super weak) and beer are a bit better priced but still a bit of a shock with the level of decor and what you think you are up for when you walk in. It has that whole clam bake atmosphere -- like think seaside decor with a cute Tiki bar upstairs. D. Prices in General, I have been to the many restaurants around Kennesaw, Alpharetta, Marietta, that serve lobster, shrimp, crab and these prices are on the HIGH Side, that Lobster roll being more than a combo is just not reasonable. The combos were fairly well priced in comparison and I admit maybe we should have gone spicier but the chef needs to take it easy on the steam, the shrimp were quite overcooked and the lobster tail, I think back off that time by about 6 minutes and it would have been perfect. E. Without more competitive pricing Ben's may have a hard time hanging on to this location that has been hard to persevere in. F. Again the staff is amazing and I hope they can find a way to make this place work because it is a great meet up location! Best of Luck!

My husband and I visited last night for the first time. The food? DELICIOUS. We started with the fried shrimp basket. Ordered for my husband, as I am not usually a fried fish kinda gal, these freshly breaded and fried shrimp were SO GOOD! I followed that up with the EXTREMELY generous garlic butter shrimp pasta (2 meals in there!), and my husband had the shrimp in a bag, medium spice. It was spicy and cooked perfectly! We also ordered the brussel sprouts- PERFECT! The ONLY reason I did not give 5 stars is that the cocktails were not up to par. At $15 these cocktails are priced higher than the craft cocktails at some of the finer establishments in the area (Garden and Gun, C Ellets) and were disappointing. My husband ordered a hennessy margarita and I ordered the strawberry smash- they came out looking EXACTLY the same. Tasted like the same drink mix was used for both, except one had tequila and the other had vodka. My strawberry smash had SALT on the rim of the glass- GROSS. This can be easily remedied and I am CONFIDENT that the attentive crew there will get their cocktails tweaked prior to the warm weather bar trips that we intend to make there. Cocktails aside, the food and service were GREAT. My husband and I look forward to spending warmer evenings on the back porch or up in the tiki bar, enjoying fried shrimp and *improved* cocktails. Worth checking it out. Hands down better than any of the chain "seafood in a bag" places.

Ordered take out and wasn't disappointed. The salmon entree and shrimp poboy were on par. The crab appetizer was so so, but not bad by any means. Overall Ben's is a step up from the previous establishment and we'll be visiting again.

There is a language disconnect here. Our server had a thick accent and wearing a cloth mask which made it nearly impossible to understand her. Once we were able to sort out the correct order, (I saw her write it down correctly) we were often brought the incorrect items from another employee out of the kitchen. I dont mind a longer than usual wait but do expect to get the correct meal. Food was good. Do not get the garlic butter treatment. WAY too much garlic.

Overall I give it a “meh”. My wife and I ate there a few days after they opened. There were a few opening day hiccups but it was no big deal. The service was excellent and they even offered a discount due to the wait which was unexpected but appreciated. My issue was however, the food. Everything was bland. So incredibly bland. We had the cheese curds for the appetizer. Cheese curds are a very moist thing to fry so they need a robust batter like a beer batter. These were tempura battered. So by the time they reached the table, though still hot and fresh out of the fryer, the batter became mushy. Additionally, the batter was not seasoned. At all. For entrees my wife had crawfish and I had the snow crab legs. The crawfish was not seasoned at all. It had zero flavor, zero heat. No hint of old bay to be found anywhere. My snow crab legs tasted like they were boiled on plain water. Somehow the traditional crab taste was even cooked out of them. Don’t get me wrong, they’re a new establishment, maybe they’ll make some changes and it’ll be worth revisiting sometime. However, I doubt I’ll come back. For the same money I can have terrible service but great food at one of those many many new crab boil places that have popped up in the last 3 years. It seems like that’s what they’re going for here as well. However, without any flavor to the food, they can’t compete. Also, there’s no beer list for whatever reason. You gotta ask what they have.

Great restaurant, the food was really good. I would highly suggest they get regular crackers for the oysters as opposed to the soup crackers they brought out. Also, would love to see them add Scofflaw POG IPA to their draft menu.
