Reviews of Alici Oyster Bar

I had a great evening dining here. I tried all of the oysters and the only one I didn't like was of course the most expensive. Their fish had lots of flavor and was cooked perfectly. I'll be coming back again since the menu does change often (daily I believe) so heads up, the online menu isn't always up to date.

We came here tonight for dinner.
We tried oysters, drinks, pasta, branzino and their lemon tart. Really loved their oysters, really fresh and tasty.
They allowed us enter with our puppy at the patio and provided enough heaters so that we would be comfortable outside.
The food quality, ambience and the service were really great. The food portions were a bit small, but other than that everything else was excellent.

The roasted endive is life changing. I know, this is a seafood and pasta restaurant, which we got and really enjoyed. I avoid gluten so had the risotto- super yummy and creamy, a tad salty but deliciously rich flavor. My husband had the house made tagliatelle and said it was incredible. We split the flounder- fun presentation, nice fresh flavor with classic combo of orange and fennel. Now the endive with cauliflower purée- I stopped myself (barely) from licking the plate clean. So delicious, so much flavor, it’s been 2 days since we ate there and I can’t wait to go back and get that again. We sat at the bar, the bartender gave us great service and cocktails. This is a fantastic spot and look forward to coming back to actually try the oysters. When you visit, get the endive. And all the other yumminess too.

We visited a few nights ago. We had a great experience! The oysters were phenomenal and the service was top notch. The wine list was great, and everything we ordered was delicious. We sat at a table, but the bar seating is plentiful, and I could see coming back to sit at the bar for a dozen oysters and a glass of wine. We'll definitely be back!

The entire meal was fantastic, but the oysters were heavenly. I didn’t think it was possible to enjoy oysters this much, especially inland. I will be back to order a dozen.
Additional highlights were the salmon and polpo dishes, which had lovely presentation and execution.
Service was also fantastic. This place is a great addition to the area.

Absolutely delicious. Had multiple courses to get a taste of everything with some friends. We couldn’t be happier! There was not one dish we were displeased with. I would recommend Alici to anyone. Beautiful ambience, a perfect place to eat.

First time trying Alici! Fresh oysters, flavorful squid ink pasta, and perfectly cooked halibut entree. Our to-go almond cake dessert was also a hit. Great cocktails and service. Will be returning!

We booked a table of 7 for dinner on Sunday 12/18 and it did not disappoint! We have been patiently waiting for this restaurant to open and it was well worth the wait. The food was amazing and timed out perfectly. The staff was more than attentive and checked in with us frequently. It was still considered their soft opening period, so there are some kinks to work out (if you sit in the back of the restaurant bring you phone camera because it's dark!) but they were receptive to feedback and were eager for us to return. We will definitely be back!

Phenomenal experience. I came in with friends and we had a few items from each course. JP was our server and guided us through the menu, and man did he point us in the right direction. Every single dish blew us away. The wines paired perfectly and the cocktails were so well balanced and creative, what an absolute treat of a night.

Alici had good presentation and wonderful service. The waitstaff were attentive and friendly, making for an enjoyable dining experience. However, the small, acoustically-challenged space made for a loud dining atmosphere that detracted from the overall ambiance.
One standout dish was the gnocchi, which had a soft texture and a pleasant aftertaste. The flavors of the seafood and sauces complemented each other well, making for a satisfying meal. However, it was unfortunate that they ran out of bread for the night, which would have added an extra layer of enjoyment to the meal.
Overall, the seafood Italian restaurant offered a solid dining experience. The food was well-prepared and satisfying, and the service was excellent. While the acoustics and lack of bread detracted from the experience, the delicious food and great service made up for it.

We were so excited to have a new restaurant in our neighborhood but hope (fingers crossed) that this restaurant can sort out its pricing/portion issues. The food is truly impeccable and the service was outstanding. The portions v. pricing will leave you feeling annoyed, however. Everyone in our party agreed that the pasta dishes ($30+) are so small that even with an appetizer, you will leave hungry. While secondi dishes are of course part of Italian cuisine, they shouldn't be required in order to have an enjoyable night out. We have never had that experience at well regarded and similarly priced Italian restaurants in New York, Italy and Atlanta. We sincerely hope that the restaurant addresses these issues so that we can become loyal customers. If not, we will not return.

Highly recommend. The crudo dishes and oysters are the star of the show, but wine options were good, and the lightly fried fish and mushroom chickpea pancake dish were also great. Good service.

The good: I have been twice and both times, service was great and everything was really delicious. On opening night my friend and I enjoyed some of the better plates I’ve had anywhere, in quite some time. We had oysters, crudo, pasta, a side potato dish, and drinks and everything was flavorful and simply amazing. I noticed tonight a lot of the staff communicating and teaching and probably just trying to learn and get better. That was nice to see.
The bad: on opening night our lobster campanelle never came. When we inquired we were informed that the kitchen had ran out but the wait staff had not been informed. The lack of communication wasn’t the problem (chalk that up to growing pains) but more so that we were seated in the first hour and a half of opening and the kitchen was already out of dish. I would have expected our replacement dish to have been comped after waiting so long and it being opening night, or maybe a free dessert, but neither was offered.
The ugly: I returned tonight. My server was excellent. I finally got the lobster campanelle. It was delicious. I inhaled it. However, it had, maybe, 2-3 chopped shrimp and 3 morsels of lobster for $30. I was definitely underwhelmed by the portion size. I ordered oysters as well. They were nice and chilly, delicious, and well shucked. I would have tried some west coast oysters, but they were $6 each. I like to think of myself as an oyster aficionado. I eat hundreds upon hundreds every year. I have never in my life seen a $6 oyster. I have never paid $5 for an oyster. I can have those same oysters overnighted to my front door for half that and I’m quite certain I don’t have the buying power of a restaurant. There are west coast oysters on menus at two of the more reputable oyster bars in Atlanta for close to half the cost. I was shocked. I understand that there are costs to running a business, but no one it town is offering $6 oysters or even close to that.
I’ll reiterate that everything is really delicious, I just think the pricing and portions need some retooling. I’ll definitely be back, just maybe not my myself. Oysters, pasta, drinks, dessert, $3 for an extra roll (minus the butter kitchen was out of) and tip came to $170 and I’m still hungry.

Hands down the most authentic and delicious Italian food I've ever had in Atlanta. Huge Italian wine selection and they even have oysters. Definitely will be back for not only the food but the excellent service team.

No oysters were consumed but it was really, really good. A lot of options for those avoiding dairy and shellfish. We had tuna tartare, mista salad, mahi-mahi (wow!), branzino and drinks. A lot (price included) for a Monday, but it was delicious.

Alici is my new favorite place in Atlanta. Everything I have had is so delicious and the dishes are so thought out and extremely detailed. It is such a beautiful restaurant that you can tell is driven with such passion. I’ve tried all the crudos and they are to die for. The oysters are so fresh and shucked to perfection. The lemon and the frutti di mare pastas took my breath away. They are so unbelievably good, those alone are worth coming back over and over again. The desserts are the perfect icing to the night. So delicate and impactful yet settle with ease. An amaro or espresso with any of the desserts are the perfect ending to the night and are worth finding your second stomach for. Alici is so great, we will come back a thousand times over. You do not want to miss this Atl gem.

Went to the newest Oyster Bar in town and it did not disappoint! Highlights were: oysters (of course), polpo, and salmon crudo.
The oysters were great and octopus over a pancake was a unique take on polpo that I greatly appreciated. Very well-balanced flavor and props to the chef. Also tried the salmon crudo and the flavor of sauce had the perfect balance of tart and salt.
I also enjoy the fact that you get to decide what sauce you want your fish prepared in.
I will say, this is a new restaurant, which means that they are still working through some kinks, but that is to be expected. The staff all handled it with grace and poise. Server Myron was a great host and communicated everything really well. He went above and beyond to make our experience great!
Will definitely be back!

Chef Davis has found a perfect venue to show his talents and originality. I’ve dined here twice. Each time I’ve tried different things. I’ve learned to order less because portions should be shared. The oysters were outstanding as was the mignonette that accompanies. Both the salmon and tuna crudoes were brilliant and rich. The warm gem salad and Spanish anchovies was perfection. One eve we had the triple tail with salsa verde. Outstanding. Both times .. not to be missed the almond ricotta torte. I will continue to return.!!!

Absolutely incredible, the flavor pallet chosen for this restaurant was executed with perfection. I was and still am blown away from the first course all the way to the last .

Fantastic new raw bar! A true taste of Italian seafood! Wonderful, friendly staff! Great new spot for date night!

I just visited Alici’s after work. I didn’t realize it was an oyster bar until I got here; but I decided to stay anyway. The ambiance and waitress were great. However, outside of the oyster choices, the menus is very, very limited for non-oyster eaters. I had the risotto and it was great but you would think it would come with a side—but doesn’t. Botomline, there was nothing that would make me come back.

The oysters were lovely and shucked well but they were very expensive.
The rest of the food was a little underwhelming and small for the price. We had a fish sausage with farro which was such a cool and innovative idea but it tasted of nothing because it was terribly underseasoned. The tuna nduja was another great idea but while it was seasoned it just wasn’t interesting in any way. The tagliatelle was wonderfully lemony but nothing else going on, and maybe even too al dente. The service was ok. We had a reservation but they still sat us at the bar; they rectified it quickly when we asked for a table.
Overall this resto seems like it’s got some growing pains but shows potential of getting better if they listen to feedback and lower their prices!

We live on the beltline and have for the past decade, so we have frequented most places and get very excited to try new restaurants. My constructive feedback for this place revolves mostly around the price to experience ratio. The service was actually some of the best we've had in Atlanta. Everyone was very knowledgeable and educated on the menu...they also made the effort to form opinions about the menu items which I appreciate. Drinks were great, actually one of the better whiskey drinks I've had. However, where I see the problem is in the price. The oysters were amazing and worth the price, but the appetizers and pasta were not. The pasta was simple in a comforting way, but simple is not what you want for $22/ plate (and these are very small plates by American standard). A similar plate in Italy would be €10. And while I know rent is probably insane, I just don't think the price justifies the overall food experience and ambiance. I'm hoping they can evolve the food and vibe to match the $200 (without main course) price point for two people....but until then, we probably won't keep it in the neighborhood rotation.

Great oysters, drinks, and ambience. We only tried one of the pastas and the dish was good! I need to go again to give it a 5 but this is a great date spot.

Found a new seafood spot to die for!!!!
The Campannelle Neri is a MUST HAVE! Best pasta I’ve ever had. Specialty oysters are delicious and all of the fish is fresh and cooked to perfection. I recommend the Grouper with the Lemon Vinaigrette.
They are a very new location, and still expanding and working on the menu. I can’t wait until they add some oyster shooters to the menu!
Prices are actually more on the moderate side, which is great too. Service was exceptional, JP took good care of us. Can’t wait to get back!

Great dinner and first experience. We had drinks, oysters, socca, pasta, and one of the fish dishes. Everything was incredible but the oysters and fish really stood out. We’ll be back

I went to Alici last night for a Galentine's Day girls' night out. I had made a reservation, but we ended up with way more people than we expected, and the restaurant could not have been more accommodating. Ashley, the manager, set up a ton of tables outside for us and turned on the heat lamps so that we would be comfortable. She made sure that everyone had seats and that we were happy, even though I was the one who had made the wrong reservation. Our server, Destini, was super patient and well-informed about the drinks and the food. All of our food and drinks were lovely, and I would certainly recommend this restaurant off the strength of their menu and beverage program. But it was really the people who went above and beyond to make our night great. Thank you Alici!
