We just went for a first time and absolutely loved it! We had a special on a large pizza and getting a free small one. They were very accommodating, also allowing us to use a gift card that was very old. We were nine people and they were able to seat us outside very quickly on a Sunday afternoon! The waitress was so nice and accommodating. She took several great photos from above of our family. Don’t forget to ask for one :-) you couldn’t have got the great angle above us with just a selfie!

When we came in, were told that they were low on servers, so there would be some lag time. Despite that, we were seated and served quicker than expected. The food was excellent. Great pizza. My only issue was the beer menu they presented, was not the beer they actually had. I wanted to create a flight out of 16 beers of which they only had four.

Great environment and delicious pizza! Can’t go wrong with this spot. Nice area to sit outside and bring your furry friends with you as well. Good beer selection and the mushroom soup is actually a nice appetizer. Definitely consider splitting your pie into 2 varieties to try out a couple of their fun options!

Another delicious trip to Mellow Mushroom. We've never been to this one before and it did not disappoint. This one had more space inside that the ones I've been to in Blowing Rock and Boone. Lots of cool art and decor was all around. I loved the environment and the staff were great as well.

What more can you expect from pizza? The crust and base of their pizzas are genuinely fantastic… and combined with a great selection of beers, this place is perfect. We shared a medium Merry Prankster, with the spinach and artichoke dip, and it was all delicious. Our 3 year old happily chomped through the half pretzel with Parmesan. The only downside is we ate so much, we missed out on dessert - the brownie was looking amazing, but we had to miss out. Had the remaining pizza the next day (cold) for lunch, and it was still delish. 2 meals for 1!

This is such a cool spot. Many vegetarian and vegan options. Wheelchair accessible too, I saw them seating someone in a wheelchair. It is in downtown Asheville, so parking can be tricky. We got a flight of ciders and the magical mystery tour pizza, which was delicious.

Menu not extravagant but so many delicious choices it is hard to decide. Baked wings appetizer, 4 out 5 bc a little dry. Delicious mushroom soup! Had 2 small (10") pizza, Mighty Meaty full of flavor and Magical Mystery Tour which was very good. We both had the Mello crust which is the thin crust. Incredible craft draft beer selection

Went for dinner to celebrate a 25th birthday. Wait staff could not have been nicer, even bringing out a cookie at the end of the meal to celebrate. We ordered the BBQ Chicken Pizza and the Caesar salad Pizza, and both of them were great. A success story tonight at Mellow Mushroom, Asheville.

Great spot in downtown for a drink and a pizza. Clean fresh and fun atmosphere with good staff. Plenty to choose from on the menu and good for families. Parking is nearby but not on premises. Group favorites calzones, Kosmic Karma, pretzel bites, cheese bread, and the draft list is great. Cheers!!!

My wife and I shared the creamy mushroom soup, the lovely strawberry salad and the awesome shiitake pizza. Service was fine; portions were ample and the outside seating was shaded and comfortable. I highly recommend dining here.

First trip to Mellow Mushroom and it did not disappoint on taste! Enjoyed a Vegan Veg Out pizza and Strawberry Lemonade. Crust was crispy and soft inside and the sauce was really good. The service was great too!

Thank you Mellow Mushroom staff and Server Kai for a delightful pizza experience while inside your restaurant; however, the problem I had was when I returned home and ate your leftovers… First let’s start with the great: The food and drink were delivered in a timely fashion and the large, tasty portions were worth the extra mulah. I had the Enlightened Spinach Salad to start 😋 and the Holy Shiitake Pie subbed with vegan cheese. Both delicious, but ordered gluten-free option and they were unfortunately out of GF crust, so I had regular which did not disappoint, but just had my heart set on GF for “happy-stomach” sake. Later that night after I got home I indulged in leftovers and bit into a large piece of MULCH. I do understand how this could have gotten mixed in with the mushrooms, but I nearly choked… I’m only sharing this so you can bring this to your cooks attention. Thank you.

Great place to eat! Absolutely beautiful on the inside, my only gripe is that they didn't have a shirt I was wanting to buy, the long sleeve with cheshire cat on the back. Overall great place to eat.

Typically love this place but sending out a delivery order where one quarter of the personal pizza is basically inedible is not okay. I know this happens but when it’s literally 25% of the pizza you really shouldn’t send this out. Update: the management was apologetic for the inconvenience and made it right. It is always appreciated when a place makes up their mistakes.

we typically avoid chain restaurants but had a promotion and were craving pizza so gave MM a try. It was just OK. The crust was good but way too much of it, and this is after requesting thin crust. The patio is nice and friendly dog-friendly. Very popular with the many tourists in town.

The food is delicious. I usually get pizza. The pizzas are flavorful and the crust is topped with garlic butter and parmesan cheese. The atmosphere is lively. It can be loud inside, as they often play loud music and it can be very busy, but it's part of the allure of the restaurant. It's very Asheville inside and outside (it's downtown). Great for families and groups, but also nice for a casual, good quality meal.

Best place for pizza. Waitstaff and hostess is attentive, and the bartender killed the drinks! The hostess noticed my toddler needed to be distracted while I ate so they brought crayons and a coloring page. I hope they know that they absolutely made mine and my husbands day and our life easier.

Only the greatest pizza ever made... at least around the Ashville area. They make some delicious artisan pizza that always pleases. Even when in the past you might get physically angry at even the notion of pineapple on pizza... mellow just makes it work. Excited to finally come back here after more than a decade.

Did not get the pizza, I ordered the Sausagefest Calzone. Glad I did. Plenty big. The meat was top quality and the marinera dipping sauce was made from scratch. On top of that the service was attentive. The best. All my friends recommendations were true. Great pizza spot.

This is a very fun place to go out to eat and the servers seemed welcoming! Only bummer about my visit was that my "well-done" burger was not well-done, but this is an easy fix to get it cooked longer, otherwise it tasted great and the rest of the food looked really good too!

Service was slow considering how busy it was. The plates that we were given were noticeably dirty. I wiped mine off with a napkin and had to use my finger nail for the rest. Food was good. That Havana hoagie was great. My flight was good but it was just single glasses, no mode of transport.

It's not bad, but it's nothing to write home about. I find the pizza to be a bit overpriced. Give me the $7.99 Dominos 3-topping carryout deal instead. If you do go to Mellow Mushroom, the $6 cheesy bread is quite large. The best deal on the menu in my opinion. If you have kids who like cheese pizza, then it can probably feed a couple of small children (it was enough for both our 2 and 4 year old). Save some money ordering them the cheesy bread instead of a $17 cheese pizza. The gluten free pizza was also fine, but again, cost almost $25 for a 10 inch pizza. I appreciate anywhere that has GF options, but this was a bit absurd. And seriously, the gluten free pizza at Dominos is much much better, for way less than half the price (did I mention the 3-topping any crust, carry out deal....yep).

Probably the best atmosphere of any establishment in Asheville. Of all the Mellow Mushrooms that I've eaten at in the past, this one is my favorite. In typical Asheville-style, the waiter staff is chill, friendly, and always fun to be around. The pizza and munchies are the some of the best that you'll find in town. Mellow Mushroom abides, man.

The food at mellow mushroom of Asheville is always great, but the service could definitely use an upgrade. Particularly the takeout service. There's one woman who is always in such a sour mood, so much so I deliberately go out of my way to avoid her. Also there's literally no parking whatsoever and the environment is pretty cramped for space. Don't enter this restaurant if you are chlostrophobic. For those reasons, I give mellow mushroom of Asheville a 3/5👍👎 could use improvement

100% love this restaurant! The food is wonderful, the vibe is always relaxed and fun, there’s something there for everyone. Most of all the people take care of you beyond serving food. While walking around town after having lunch there my friend and I had noticed we were being followed by two men. We had to pass by them to get to our vehicle and after multiple attempts to cross the street away from them they continued to pursue us, so we went back into Mellow Mushroom and the host was immediately helpful and offered to even walk us back out to the car and as they asked the manager if they could come with us he himself said he would do it. He didn’t want any of us to be in danger of these men. He walked us all the way and made sure we were safe in the car before turning away. People like this are why I always return to places like this. Thank you to everyone who helped us today.

Love the place food was amazing but the art work and the uniqueness of the restaurant what caught my eye. Every mellow mushroom restaurant is different via inside or out i never see two same mellow mushroom design, artwork, or likeness anywhere else except where i found it before. It wonderful place has a real 60s to 70s feel, you can't beat the price for the amount that you get as well. 💗

HIGHLY RECOMMEND—Awesome food and absolutely amazing staff I love the food here…it’s so good that I craved the calzone for 4 years after moving away from the AL location and was reunited at this NC location 🥰. Our waitress was so sweet and put some extra smiles in our day. Not only is the food delicious but the staff is even better. Tonight a friend and I were roaming around popping in and out of shops until after dark, when 2 men began to follow us and attempted to isolate us into an alley close by. Luckily we are always alert and made sure to cross several streets and dip into Mellow Mushroom. We asked the hostess to use the restroom as we were being followed, she immediately pointed the way, and after offered to let us hang out at the bar or even step outside with us to determine if it was clear to access our car just up the road (right where the men were previously standing and watching us enter MM). Once we agreed to look as a team, she notified her manager who took it upon himself to walk us to our car and stay there until we were locked in and safely driving away. Let me say, thank you thank you and thank you. We had an amazing lunch and then were made to feel welcome and safe with the actions of the staff. We are both more than appreciative and want to encourage others to be aware of your surroundings and DEFINITELY stop in for some delicious food 😊 11 Jan 23 @ 1830

By far the best Mellow Mushroom!!! Me and a group of my friends came here for dinner and it was awesome. The Pacific Rim & Funky Chicken pizza were delicious and cooked perfect. We all loved the local beers from Asheville. The exterior and interior decorations are always such a unique and special experience. The staff were very kind and fast with our orders. Would recommend this place to anyone that visits Asheville, and can't wait to visit again.

We loved this place. Great pizza, friendly staff, dog friendly outdoor seating, and good beer selection. What's not to love? We got the Holy Shiitake Pie and loved it. Or server also brought our pooch a small bowl of water. I usually don't do this, but I ended up getting a t-shirt as well. Highly recommended.

Last day in Asheville ended with Mellow Mushroom. Ella's was our highlighted server, she had a gentle spirit, and took our order professionally, with courtesy and a smile. We ordered a large pizza with garlic pesto sauce, spinach, onions, chicken, Italian sausage, artichoke hearts and mushrooms. (See below) It was delicious.

I ordered takeout so this review is for food only. For the price you pay, if you ordered the right type of pizza, it's pretty good. I had half plain cheese and half pacific rim. A large pizza can feed 3-4 people (unless people in your group eat a lot, like me hahaha. My other 2 friends each only had 2 slices and they were pretty full, but I had 4...). It was under 30 dollars. I loved the Pacific rim. It had similarities to the Hawaiian pizza but it also had (I think) jalapeno peppers on it for some spiciness. It was a great combination for my taste. The cheese half is ok. I didn't love it but if you like plain cheese pizza, it shouldn't be a disappointment.

I've been wanting to try a Mellow Mushroom for a while and this past week I got my opportunity. While in Asheville we wanted to find a place to eat that wasn't highway robbery snd could get us out and on out way to candlelight @ Biltmore. There was a Mellow Mushroom nearby. So we went in and checked it out and I was quite surprised. There was a lot of nice and eclectic decor. But for me it just didn't seem to live up to the hype of what everybody's told me a Mellow Mushroom is. Food was good and reasonable priced. We enjoyed it. Plus it was quick.

Was a little disappointed when I figured out this was a chain. The meatballs were a little cold when we got them and the pizza was subpar. The wait was also just ok. I thought it was a little expensive too for what we got. The atmosphere however, was the coolest part. The art and sculptures really set it apart from other places I’ve been to. What more can I say about The Mellow Mushroom. 1st it's the best of any of the MM I have been to. From the artwork that is everywhere on the walls and scattered about the entire grounds, not just inside. The food is prepared with love and fun on point everytime, just like the atmosphere. Which brings me to the next one. The atmosphere there is amazingly laid back, fun, friendly, chill vibes. The service from the staff is always served with happiness and a smile. Even when they are really busy on a weekend. The service is great, friendly, fun, fast, and awesome. The libations are fantastic too. So many on tap. From local breweries, to art house brews, and even the most known commercial beers. If you cant find a libation here to wet your whistle then no where will have a brew to your liking. There are so many great places in Asheville. This one though is a must. Whether it be for a nice chill lunch or dinner. Or it be for a fun family meal. To an adventure through Asheville. You've got to try any of their wonderful menu items. Definately try a pie though. The woodfired stone oven. Mwah! Delicious! Don't take my word for it though. Stop in and partake of the food, the brews, the fun, the environment, the atmosphere, and the people that make Asheville extra extraordinary.

Best pizza crust ever?! 11 out of 10. Love the psychadelic retro vibe, the vegan friendly menu, and the well stocked bar. This is one of my all time fave pizza spots! It's not cheap, but everything is delish. I recommend the Thai Dye pie, veganized, the Holy Shitake, veganized, and a hoagie, veganized. Honestly it's hard to go wrong with anything on the menu here. Just make sure you prepare for a potential wait time (the price of being popular!) and always, always order extra vegan cheese y'all.

This is the last place we ate during our stay in Asheville and would definitely return. We ordered the Pacific Rim and it was delicious! The pizza was not greasy at all, which I very much appreciated. Feel this is always my biggest complaint when it comes to pizza. There was a small wait time, but we were able to find a couple available seats at the bar. Staff was very friendly and on top of service. Highly recommend!

Unfortunately there was one very rude patron while we were there, however the staff handled that lady with respect and patience and deserve some sort of reward for putting up with this woman's obnoxious behavior. Highly recommend this place to anyone craving a pizza in Asheville!

I’ve got to start out by saying the pizza was absolutely delicious, large selection of different style pies. The atmosphere is also one of the coolest places in AVL, so many different colors and trinkets really make the place pop. Unfortunately the wait is long, our waiter took a while to take out order, bring our drinks, give us our check, etc. True there was a lot of people here in the weekend, but our waiter had a laissez-faire attitude throughout. We spent around a few hours just waiting, luckily we were in good company so all was well. The food does seem a bit overpriced compared to other pizza joints in the area, and they do not serve single slices... nonetheless it was pretty delicious and I do recommend to check it out... maybe when it’s not too busy.

Psychedelic spot to eat some great food and fantastic drinks! So many different drinks on tap, including gluten free ciders. Pizzas were loaded and delicious. The vibe of this place was so cool, so many painted pieces and sculptures hanging around and even from the ceiling. Staff was super friendly and available, plenty of seating inside and outside. I highly recommend visiting this location if you're looking to have a great night out with friends.

When our food was taking a bit long our server communicated honestly that an item got messed up and they were remaking it. Really wonderful crust and I thought the tomato sauce was outstanding. During the pandemic I only eat at restaurants that have outdoor seating, so I was glad I was able to enjoy the patio after a short wait for a table.

Ms Kim recommended Mellow Mushroom as an excellent spot in downtown Asheville, and she wasn't wrong about the food. We were able to grab a table outside on a beautiful day, far enough from the street to people watch but not be bothered by vehicle traffic. The well outfitted outdoor area was comfortable with plenty of flora to make it cozy and intimate. We were seated immediately, and our wait staff popped up almost before I could settle into my seat. We ordered drinks that arrived just as we decided on food. I picked the House Special pizza, like the meat lover's but add veggies too. It wasn't just good, it was special... tender but crisp crust, ample toppings, precisely sliced Roma tomatoes and all perfectly cooked. As a pizza lover, I was both pleased and impressed. They have ample menu selections to satisfy any palate, the service is excellent, the ambiance is casual but classic pizza place, outdoor seating is the way to go, and the beer is cold with a nice selection of draught beers including Highland Gaelic Ale, a local fave. We enjoyed our food and our visit immensely, and left quite satisfied. In downtown Asheville, it is a great place for a bite and a beer, friendly, casual, great food.

Definitely overpriced. I've never payed almost 50 bucks for a pizza and undercooked wings. We asked our server if we could substitute a few things on the pizza. (NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES WERE MENTIONED) Simple no onions, or pork for mushrooms and bell peppers. We were still charged for both plus added $3.00 and $3.50 for the substitutions. After I noticed the additional charges the manager gave a generic answer as to why we were charged for the substitutions Normally my fiance never says a word. He's a chef so that bothered him the response the manager gave.( Who never came over to communicate to see what our concern was) We also have a food page and share our traveling favorites. This was our first time ever eating at a Mello Mushroom. Unfortunately, probably the last. On a positive note our waitress was so sweet and apologetic and we met a great couple that made the visit pleasant.

I'm a BIG fan of this place! This was my first experience ever at a Mellow Mushroom... and I'm disappointed they don't have one near where I live! The decor is kind of psychedelic, fun, unique. Our server was very friendly, and incredibly helpful with helping us make a decision on what to order. Food. Oh the food. SO good! You have got to try the soft pretzels as an appetizer! We got the order of 3 (one of each flavor). For your first time, that is what I'd recommend. Oh, and don't forget the beer cheese dip on the side! A definite must. My friend had a salad, which looked outstanding! And I got a pizza. One really neat feature they offer? You can get 2 different pizzas split half and half on one! I tried the BBQ chicken and the Kosmic Karma. Both were very good. Finally, the beer. I was shocked at the HUGE craft draft beer selection. Maybe it was extra good because it was in Asheville (craft beer central), or that is how they always are. Regardless, GREAT selection if that's your thing.

This is one of our go-to restaurants when we're in Asheville as it's one of our favorite pizza place in Charlotte. Unfortunately, we were kind of shocked to see how much they've raised their prices when we dined in today. Compared to other restaurant's ongoing rates, theirs is definitely way higher. These guys have the best pizza, it is always delicious. Orders generally take a little longer, however, the outcome is always with the wait. Their crust is second to none and their toppings always taste fresh. The location can be a bit difficult for parking because it's downtown but you won't be disappointed with your order. This is our second visit to the Mellow Mushroom while in Asheville. We were attracted to it because it is a large place and not crowded. They are careful and follow COVID guidelines. Everyone in service wore a mask, which makes us comfortable. The service was outstanding! We ordered a cocktail which was perfectly mixed. Our pizzas and salads were perfect, with lots of choices . The atmosphere is funky and friendly. We will definitely be back on our next visit.

Upon arrival in Asheville the Hotel staff recommended Mello Mushroom fir a beer and great pizza...it did not disappoint!!! Very great service considering it was a busy July 3rd, 2021 where the Mask Mandates were loosened. Pizza is a thing crust, delicious flavor a decent amount of topping and cheese ratio. Local and your typical beers available along with specialty drinks and soft drinks. Eclectic decor inside and outdoor dining.

It's unfortunate that distinction has to go to a chain but I've always thought that pizza options in the area were very limited, particularly for a city with such incredible food on average. My only ding would be that the prices are a bit high. But I'll chalk that up to the adage that you pay for what you get.

I was at another location in Hickory on my trip to NC and it’s good. I like that they offer gluten free and vegan pizza, though I do wish the crust was cauliflower and larger, or the price was lower. I came to this location and I thought Jamie was an excellent server! She was so kind and helpful on menu options and everything. We don’t have this chain in my area, so it’s been fun to see all the wild decor and I especially love the bowling balls in the wall outside.

First time here. Everything we had was the best we've ever had. Only downfall is it's pricey. Most menu small pizzas- which are a personal 10in.- are $15. It will be a place we treat ourselves sometimes. Server was attentive to our large party. Environment was pretty awesome. Loved the hippie free spirit vibe.

This place was great! They had great pizza and the atmosphere was also very nice. They kids had a great time looking at everything! They also had crayons and a coloring sheet to keep them occupied. The food was good but the service was great. I have a little one who all of a sudden decided to throw up all over while waiting for dinner. We asked the server to please just go ahead and box up our dinner to go and if she could bring me towels and a trash so she didn't have to deal with the clean up from my son. I as a server have had to deal with the same issue and it's disgusting! I would never expect a stranger to clean up after my child. She said it was no problem that she would deal with the small bit that was left. I don't know the servers name but props to her!! She must be a mom 😂😂

Had a blast! My daughter and I arrived starving! The artichoke spinach dip with a tray of fresh veggies substituted for pita chips tided us over nicely while we waited for our pizza. We shared a medium, thin crust pizza with the traditional red sauce topped with artichokes, feta cheese and sauteed mushrooms. One our favorite craft beers was available by the pitcher. The service was superb and the atmosphere relaxed and fun! We lingered because we were stuffed and comfortable. Looking forward to going again. Great food-to-fun ratio; the food, customer service and atmosphere was very much worth the tab and tip.

DOG FRIENDLY AND ALLERGY FRIENDLY! This Mellow Mushroom was fantastic! All the workers were very kind and friendly towards our dogs. When we asked the waiter if there were any nuts she ensured us that there were no nuts in the kitchen except for there pre-packaged cookies. Has been years since we last went to mellow mushroom, this time, did not disappoint at all!! Service was excellent the food was great!! Due to celiac disease, everything has to be gluten free. I got their pizza with everything and it was fabulous! The waiter said, those pizzas are prepackaged in a facility to avoid cross contamination. I didn't get sick and it was the perfect size. I highly recommend! My wife got the jerk chicken hoagie and said the sandwich was great.

Mellow Mushroom is one of those places that can be a hit or miss for me. This time was more of a miss. Our bruschetta was brought out and it was somewhat soggy. Like it had been made for a while with the toppings on it. We ordered 2 medium pizzas with thin crust. One had all the onions and bell peppers piled up only in the center. The other was the pacific rim with pineapples and there probably wasnt a peice of pineapple for each piece.

Although Mellow Mushroom is a small chain, this franchise fits right in with the Asheville Atmosphere. The inside was renovated in 2015/2016 and I have not been there to see the changes. Try the outdoor patio - it's a wonderful, relaxed setting to enjoy some pizza and good local beer. Their beer selection is very good. The manager is also friendly, efficient, and understanding. On a busy night, my pizza arrived at the table severely undercooked. I hated to have to say something, but the pizza was inedible. The manager came to my table quickly and apologized, offered to cook a new pizza, and ended up suggesting that I eat the pepperoni off the undercooked pizza while I waited for the new one. (Which I did. Yum!) He literally dashed off to the kitchen to order the remake, and when it arrived at my table, it was awesome. Thank you!

Lots of yummy choices. The pizza was fresh and delicious. It has very eclectic decorations including a huge bear for kids to climb on plus large dangling objects from the ceiling. The table beside us rested on a vehicle part. This restaurant fits Asheville perfectly! There was a small problem with flat beer, but they resolved it very politely.

Parking around is not very easy but definitely not impossible. The hosts are welcoming and chill. There should be no way that a person comes here and does not try the pizza... it is very good. So this place is great. Cool, trendy, and usually packed on the weekends. Located right downtown Asheville and a minute walk from anywhere. The pizza is amazing, that coupled with a HUGE selection of local craft beers in tap. The only issue that was of a minor annoyance was that there was a big dog on the patio and the dog's tail was all up in my table area. Love dogs, just not in my food. Still 5 Stars for great food and service.

I've always liked the Mellow Mushroom pizzas, but there seems to be some HR staffing issues. The wait for a table was long and the outside patios were closed because that were understaffed. On the plus side, the pizza is still good, there is a huge selection of beer on tap, and the staff that is working is pleasant and efficient. Hopefully they can get their labor issues solved soon.

Took my son for our 1st visit to the Pizzeria and we loved it. The inside decor is absolutely authentic Asheville, if that doesn't make sense, I won't explore the topic, you must come see for yourself. The pizza itself was magnificent. Well first of all I did really like the pizza and the cool, artsy to go pizza boxes. I’m vegan and have had some questionable vegan pizzas and this place does a good job even with their vegan cheese. I love their sauce. The ambience is great too. I knocked off stars because I called to reserve a spot and they don’t take reservations which I prefer actually but when I arrived with my fidgety toddler after driving around for parking they told me to get a mask. Nbd. Walked two blocks back for masks and two blocks again to the restaurant. Then I stood there right at the front for ten minutes, waiting for my husband who had been at his car. I had toGive him a mask. I let another large family in before me and followed RIGHT behind them by one minute with my husband and daughter. They were allowed in and I was not. It was 8:01, thirty minutes after I’d first arrived. I get it. There are rules. But when we were clearly there before this to me is very rude. I asked my husband his opinion as he’s worked in restaurants for years and he agreed. I do live in Asheville now so I’ll just go again and see what it’s like but we’ve had take out a few times and it’s always great. Oh and the manager did allow us to get take out when I called a few minutes after being turned away. The veg out though there was no vegan cheese left was still full price and quite pricey, which I’d allow if it weren’t for the hostess! Still on the fence with this place as a whole. Might make my own pizzas for awhile.

My husband and I love Mellow Mushroom and have eaten at this location many times. Doesn't matter if we get pizza to go or eat there. Always delicious. The crust is what really makes a pizza tasty and we love the hand-tossed dough they use. Not too thick and not too thin, and the outer crust is chewy and crispy all at once. They also have an extensive beer menu and full service at the bar if you can't get a table right away. I really love their decor too. Kinda trippy and Alice in Wonderland themed. Cool colors, pretty lights, and also big screen TVs if you want to catch the game while you eat. This is our go-to for pizza in Asheville.

Couldn't tell they were open from the outside on a cold rainy day, but glad we checked the door. Had a fantastic gluten free bbq chicken pizza, tried a few ciders, had fantastic service at the bar. Would definitely go back.

Friendly staff, fast service and really yummy pizza. The crust was particularly tasty and clearly home made. Family friendly for my kids, ages 3 and 8. Fun atmosphere and outdoor seating (was closed due to rainwhen we arrived).

The great white pizza here was great! Got the thin crust and it was tasty. Mom had to get gluten free cause of her special low fodmap diet. So she got spinach and mozzarella on hers she said it was great. The staff also accommodated her diet and put just plain olive oil as her base since she cant have garlic or onions either. Will be back. Thank you Mellow Mushroom!

Eventhough is surrounded by this great Asheville atmosphere I get the feeling this restaurant is a little overrated. I mean is good to grab a couple drinks and try their pizzas but I would not consider it as a remarkable stopping point for those in search of the culinary wonders of Asheville. However service is good and friendly. One thing to consider is that sometimes you need to park a at least block away to visit this restaurant.

This was our second choice of dining options while with friends downtown. The first choice couldn't comfortably accommodate our group of 8. The wait wasn't bad, but nowhere to really sit or stand without being in the way (as it was too chilly to wait outside) of other guests/employees. The food seemed to take a while but since it was Friday night when we visited, I can understand. I had the Philly cheese steak (I don't remember the actual name) calzone. I ate about half of it, it wasn't very flavorful and the onions/peppers were scarce. Our waitress was super nice and did what she could to make our visit pleasant. This was my first visit to a Mellow Mushroom, unfortunately I was expecting a bit more, especially with this one being in Asheville. Also, with our group size (I'm guessing?), we were put kinda out of the way so there wasn't much 'ambience' in our corner. I think I would've rather been closer to the main seating area.

Stopped in tonight around 8:30, first time here with 5 other friends. They were unsure of what they wanted to order while I had already decided on a hoagie sandwich HOWEVER, the manager that was working tonight not only talked me into a pizza that had similar toppings to my sandwich but he made it himself AND brought it out to me! The hospitality and genuine conversation that he had with me will bring me back for sure and recommend them to all of my friends!

Ok, I know its not a "local" spot, but we were starving and all the restaurants around were closing or full and we were able to get awesome pizzas, great local beer and enjoyed the patio. Service was awesome as well.

Ive heard of this chain from several people. They all love it. The personal pizzas are just more than enough for one person and made from scratch. Normally I don't get pizza when I eat out, but I'll make an exception here in the future. It's a fun restaurant too. I think they repurposed an old McDonald's, including the clown statue outside.

We had a great time here while visiting Asheville yesterday for the herb festival. The crazy q chicken pizza was delicious along with the pretzel bites and the beer selection was good too. All of the wait staff made us feel welcome and our server was a blast to talk to. Will be back soon.

I love the unique atmosphere and the excellent food and service! We eat here on special occasions or when we want an amazing pizza and to get our hippy on. Just some advice to everyone. Get the pesto swirl on everything, and be sure to order the bread knots with parm cheese!!!

There was no hostess when I walked in so I went to the bathroom and then sat at the bar and waited 15 minutes with no service before I asked the bartender to wait on me. The Spinach Salad and Kosmic Karma Pizza were good but they ran out of ice cream for the Brownie Sundae dessert and substituted it with vegan which I didn't mind. Ryan the bartender was friendly and accommodating. It was a laid back atmosphere. I like that it is locally owned and that the locals get a 25% discount on Tuesdays. They also offer a veteran's discount as well which made me happy. I will probably be going back and would still recommend it to others.

Good pizza and salads, but a bit on the expensive side. They messed up our order at first, but our server was very helpful and went straight in to make the correction and have our second pizza brought right out (hot out of the oven a few minutes later). The patio is cozy and a great place to eat while being able to see what all is going on down the strip

It's located in the down town Asheville area. It has a great atmosphere along with great service. We were able to watch all the passer by traffic and happiness from others as we are outside under a well shaded area. It was a very nice pizza place with lots of other Italian dishes to chose from. Highly recommend.
