When I stepped in the restaurant, at first I was a little overwhelmed, but then again this is a diner. Restrooms are available. Our server was great and very attentive to our needs. The food came so quick! It couldn’t have been 5 minutes and our plates were in front of us, steaming hot. I would definitely recommend coming early, as we showed up at 8:45, and it was already pretty packed. Then menu seemed a little long, but it’s divided into sections depending on what meal you are having. Great assortment of diner breakfast food, super filling. I will definitely be coming here again.

One of the Very Best Tiny Diner meals we've ever had ! We've eaten here before and just HAD to dine here again! She had the Hamburger Steak & Gravy w/3 sides. I had the Seafood Special w/Catfish and Shrimp w/3 sides. Ate it all - very happily full 😊👍 My selection of dishes below only scratches the surface. EVERYTHING is good here !

50th Anniversary visit today! Party of 5 - First timers, on a very busy Saturday brunch visit. They are very quick and efficient, despite being slammed it did not seem hectic at all. The service and the food were both absolutely fantastic. The menu in the beginning is kind of daunting but once you give it a couple of look overs it all makes sense. Highly recommend Five Points Restaurant! You will not be disappointed ❤️

My wife and others loved our delicious breakfasts yesterday. We had a spinach/feta cheese omelette; excellent scrambled eggs with bacon and tasty chocolate chip waffle with fresh strawberries. All of our dishes came with flavorful hash browns and toast or a biscuit. Service was fine; portions were large; prices were fair and the kitchen staff were very efficient. I would highly recommend dining here to others.

Not fancy, but the food is great! I had the Greek Land omelette and my wife got french toast. We are in town on vacation and our host recommended this spot for breakfast. It did not disappoint. The parking lot can be a little tight. Definitely get there early to avoid a wait.

I love this place's classic American diner style. I had the Greekland omelet. Like a Gyro but wrapped in eggs. It was delicious and came with fried potatoes. Service was friendly and the place was clean. Great place overall.

There are lots of good places to eat in Asheville, but I return time and time again to Five Points! The grilled salmon over a Greek salad is my go-to, but the spanakopita is wonderful and so is everything else! Breakfast is outstanding (order at least one blueberry pancake, no matter what else you get), and the entire staff is great. I appreciate how hard they all work to get delicious orders out quickly. Sit at the counter sometime and watch it all come together. TIP: check the website for hours (they close around 4 pm) and consider going at off-times to avoid a wait—it’s a popular place (with good reason)! This is a great place to come by for breakfast or lunch. The food is delicious and the portions are huge. Easily two meals in one. The waitstaff are all very friendly, and the cooks are always working very hard. Recommend the homemade biscuits and potatoes side.

Nestled in almost in a corner spot. My first time dining here, heard the rumors of the fantastic food and service. Blessed I was able to experience for myself. Food was delicious as if prepared with love, pride, and sense of family. I enjoyed the French toast, bacon, and hot chocolate. This is a place for your three main meals of the day. Cozy atmosphere, when you see cozy you think small but the atmosphere and people make it so much bigger. Prompt friendly attentative service! Five Points was definitely on point!

This place was so crowded when we stopped in. Was given a buzzer to notify when a table was ready. Was outside for 2min and buzzer was already going off. First thing I noticed was how hard the staff was working. It was amazing watching the kitchen staff make food and be completely in sync with each other. Food was amazing! Reason for 4 stars is I saw an older lady in the kitchen eating, handling money and preparing food at the same time. That's a big No,no in the culinary industry.

THE BEST eggs Benedict I’ve ever had! It was perfect in every way! And the server was incredible, too! This restaurant has been an Asheville go-to for over half a century for a reason, y’all. When you go, be a good person and tip the servers well…they deserve it for sure. I always tip the cooks separately, too.

If you are ever in Asheville, and want to go eat breakfast, I recommend 5 Points Restaurant! After first restaurant choice was closed, we found this place. It’s a little local diner with a great breakfast. Small parking lot, and may have to wait, but we got there at the perfect time! There was a line after we got seated. All of the workers were friendly, and had quick service! Prices were reasonable as well!

I am your typical customer who drives by your restaurant every day wanting to stop and see what all the hype is about. Today was the day that I stopped at 11:00am. Well I wasn’t disappointed with the breakfast or the service! Checking out was the issue, I stood at the register for about ten minutes not being acknowledge ( like I was invisible) as other customers came in to pick up food or to be seated. It was obvious to the other customers who acknowledge that I was here first. Again it was obvious; it took a waitress to come up to the register to check me out.

This is a great spot for home cooked breakfast. We've eaten here several times on visits to Asheville. It's a cozy spot with excellent, friendly service, and pipng hot food delivered immediately to your table. Our party of 4 had a Western omelet, pancakes, French toast, eggs, bacon, sausage, and coffee. All were very tasty. The waitress made several stops to refill coffee and check on us. This is a popular place with limited seating, but if you have to wait, it's worth it!

The California was the best omelet I've been served in any restaurant at any price point. The only thing I would change about this place is the size, it should be bigger so more people could enjoy it. The food was great, the service was wonderful. A local Greek restaurant... nothing better.

My husband and I were visiting Asheville for his birthday. This past Saturday we went here for breakfast. According to the reviews, this was a great spot for breakfast. Indeed it was!! There was a small wait time because it was already packed at 8:30 a.m. The place is small, but the breakfast was delicious! Hubby had the 2 pancakes, 2 sausages with sunny-side up eggs. I had the Corned beef hash with grits, eggs, and toast. Everything was very good! When we come back through Asheville this summer, we will come here again for breakfast.

Standard local diner type of place. Over priced in my opinion, but it is Asheville. The waffle was a bit uncooked in the middle but the bacon was good. Service was great, polite and prompt. Older building, but clean and well kept. I can't say that there aren't much better places in the area for the price.

I ate here two consecutive mornings. This place is exactly what a dinner should be. Quality food served fast and at a reasonable price. The crew works well together and if you sit at the bar you can watch them cook your food. The owner runs a tight ship and is right in the middle of all the action. I saw him take time to visit with a patron who hadn't been in for a while. It's clear he cares for both the crew and customers.

We got here about 7a on a Saturday. There were two people working but the next shift all arrived right after us. They all ate breakfast too. :) I got the pancakes and eggs and they were OK--not great or anything. My husband got the biscuits and gravy and said they were just OK too. It was an authentic diner-feel. It had a counter and it was lined with booths. Our server was a little surly but it was early in the morning. I think I will look around for other breakfast spots before returning to the Five Points.

A visit to Five Points always makes the day better. On my last visit, I enjoyed a lunch entree of Virginia ham with pineapple, with sides that included pasta salad, macaroni and cheese, and rice with gravy.

TOP NOTCH Breakfast is so good, I watched them prepare it while sitting at the counter. Perfect bacon, perfect grits, perfect toast, good scrambled eggs, a little dab of gravy on my grits, heavenly, best coffee and plenty of it. Wait staff is Johnny-on-the-spot. AND, the price is right. What more can you ask for???

Yum! I love a good diner and this one is excellent! I came here for breakfast with my friend and we’re able to get a table right away. My friend ordered Eggs Benedict and said it was great. I got an omelet and a side of bacon. Bacon was thin, but tasted alright. It was very busy; it took a while for coffee to be filled. Parking can be tough, but I feel like that it normal in Asheville. Overall, I would recommend this restaurant.

I had the grouper plate for lunch today and can't remember having grouper that good outside of fresh off the boat in the Bahamas! With the 3 sides I had more than I could eat and I'm not a small eater. Our waitress was awesome too. Thanks for a great meal, I'll be back!

I've been coming here since I was a young girl and the atmosphere is always uplifting and the food is always phenomenal, hot and fresh no matter what time of day you order! The workers are always smiling and professional, and the place is super clean for a small constantly packed diner. I think Guy Fieri on triple D (Diners, Drive Ins & Dives), airing on Food Network, should come here on one of his funky joints searches!

Great food at really reasonable prices. I ate there for breakfast 3 times this week while visiting Asheville, each time it was great. The California omelet was incredible, waffles, French toast, sausage, bacon, etc... Just great. The only drawback is that it's a bit warm inside as the resturant is small, but the food is worth being a bit warm.

Excellent breakfast, fast, efficient service, very friendly staff. I had the beligian waffle with crispy bacon, my hubby had the traditional breakfast, & it was a ton of food. Coffee was awesome. This is a spot you could just drive by, it's so unassuming at first glance. Menu is very vast, lots to choose from & everything we saw from diners near us looked delicious. Can't go wrong. We'll be back, this is great vacation breakfast spot, with a cool local /family vibe - we noticed multiple staff greeting customer/regulars by name.

We loved this old school diner for a casual lunch during our Asheville long weekend getaway. Not our typical style of place to lunch, but we wanted a break from the parking costs in downtown Asheville - and there’s decent free parking here. Friendly service, tasty, comforting, home-style meals - but not not toooo home-style that you feel you could have just stayed at home and cooked. A range of options from subs, sandwiches, gyros, salads, and more. Not vegetarian? Try the Chicken Parmigiana Sub - the server told me “good choice” when I ordered that, and a good choice it was.

Five Points has always been a favorite of mine. They generally have a professional, friendly staff that's on point. I rarely have to ask for things like syrup for pancakes or butter for my toast. My personal fav is their breakfast sausage patties, made in house from a local sausage/meat company. Over the years the shape of the patties have changed but never the incredible flavor! I can't speak on their lunches(my apologies) but I CAN promise you THIS: If you choose to eat breakfast here, you'll fall in love with this place&keep coming back. Five Points has an atmosphere all its own& the location makes it easy & convenient to get to. Give Five Points a try, you won't be disappointed...(whispers-You can thank me later!)

Small diner but large on personality. Wait staff was very friendly and made great recommendations. California omelette, fried potatoes, toast and our waitress kindly offered their homemade biscuit to taste. The biscuit with jelly was like a dessert. Looking around, the environment was clean. Didn’t visit the bathrooms, so can’t comment on their cleanliness. They also weren’t face mask nazis either….I’m so over this liberal town and their face mask. Glad to be headed home. At least our trip ended with good people, true salt of the Earth goodness in the staff.

My husband and I order from their restaurant at least twice a week. We always get the chicken Greek salad. The chicken is always so tender and fresh. I love their Greek dressing that comes with it! The staff is very friendly. When my mother visits, we always order the eggs benedict. Highly recommend!

This is a long time neighborhood breakfast place with seasoned waitresses and a high energy atmosphere. My wife had a breakfast special and the eggs were perfect. I had the hamburger steak with mashed potatoes and green beans. Very tasty! Support this local landmark family restaurant!

I've always picked up lunch to go when I order from here and the food is always great and every time I order they say, it'll be ready in 10 minutes...I get there in 8 and it's always ready. The only thing I would suggest is that they use butcher paper to wrap their sandwiches, gyros and wraps in as the styrofoam to go containers and tinfoil trap moisture and sog out the bread. Still 5 stars... Great food, friendly staff. 👍

Parking is a nightmare! Something about this parking lot paralyzes people from pulling out of their spaces - maybe they think they can't make a turn? And then someone comes in from the street and you've lost your turn... It could be the angles of the lot. Anyway, it's a huge headache. Walk, take the bus, ride your bike, do whatever it takes to get here. Unreal prices, great customer service and some of the best blueberry pancakes I've ever had!

The aesthetics aren't the best. Looks like a typical New England diner with industrial carpeting (why?). The service was decent and you pay the bill upon exiting at the cashier's station (why the waitress doesn't except it is beyond me since it was the same person). However, they have good coffee and the best spanakopita (spinach pie) that I've had since moving down here 18 years ago. The spanakopita also came with a decent size Greek salad, which was to my liking. I can not vouch for the dressing because I did not sample it (the salad was flavorful enough for my taste)... I enjoyed the meal and will be back for more. :-)

Delicious food at reasonable prices. Today I had a Greek salad, with sides of pinto beans and fried squash. The salad had plenty of the items that make it Greek; lots of kalamata olives, feta cheese, and red onion. Red, ripe, Roma tomatoes nestled beside cool cucumbers drizzled with tangy house made dressing. As an added bonus, they included a stuffed grape leaf on the side. Most meat and three places I have been to get their sides out of cans and the freezer, and don't bother with much seasoning. Not Five Points. I don't know if they cook everything from scratch, but the pintos tasted like my Mom used to make, tender and nicely seasoned. And the squash was lightly breaded and fried so that I could really taste the freshness. I have had many good meals at Five Points and they never disappoint! Next time I review I will try to remember to show photos, but today I just couldn't wait to dig in!

Five Points is DELICIOUS!! I went on a busy Saturday morning with my boyfriend, and we were seated within 10 minutes (we expected it to be much longer and were ready to wait). The staff was great and attentive, and they also seemed to have a good flow going. The cook was at ease but moving quick. And the food was perfect! The eggs I ordered came out perfect and just how I ordered them, and everything was at the perfect level of greasiness (it wasn't overly greasy but was perfect diner food). I loved it and will be going back soon!!

Excellent food for the money. I eat here and order to-go often. Sometimes it can get busy and hard to find a seat, but patrons tend to move fast and there is room at the bar to sit as well. I have never had an ordered messed up in the years that I have been coming here and even with the numerous giant to-go orders I have placed. The staff is on top of their game always, and turn over appears to be low. It is nice to see the same friendly faces over and over, especially when they remember you. They have an expansive menu with sides that change daily, so there is always something new to try. My favorite is the beef tips over rice with gravy. The beef is seasoned well and is so tender, and the portion size is large. Pretty much all of their meals come with 2 sides and a salad or 3 sides, along with a roll/cornbread. The prices and service can't be beat.

I've been looking for a good diner with country fried steak and finally found it! It's diner food, nothing fancy.. But exactly what I was looking for. I love hole-in-the-wall diners! Our waitress was very nice and attentive and folks around us didn't mind our 4-yr-old and toddler. Steak was crispy fried and easy to cut with the side of your fork, but not too processed like I've had before. Asked for well done hash browns and they were very good. Eggs over medium made perfectly. Nephew got tasty pancakes, but no kids menu, so expect to split meals with little ones or pay full meal prices. :)

I came alone, in the brunch-y part of Monday, around 10:15(ish)a.m. There is VERY limited parking, but I seemingly arrived at just the right time. It proceeded to become busy quickly. I could see other would be patrons look at me a bit confused like," is she coming or going?" I finished my makeup and went inside. I was greeted swiftly and asked, "just 1"? I replied, "I'm just checking it out". Looking around, it was clean, yet homey. Not much room however. It has a seating capacity to match it's parking, about Waffle House size. Being Covid-19, diligent, they require masks upon entry and until you get your food and they have a plastic shield at the cash register. Before realizing my standing there would be in the way of other guests, Kari was already asking if the bar was okay, then seating me as I motioned affirmatively. Like many Greek owned diners, it has an extensive menu that offers almost every usual favorite but Five boasts some unique fair not usually seen in comparable establishments. From a chalk board of the days specials, I chose a meal that seemed fairly exotic and especially Greek: "moussaka"! Though I've never had it before, my curiosity was stirred years ago when it was mentioned in the recurring SNL skit, featuring Will Ferrell and Rachel Dratch, "the Lov-ahs". With rekindled amusement at the skit, and my interest peaked for the dish, I inquired Kari for the details. Served much like a portion of lasagna would be; a thick, loafy, slice of hearty, comfort food, baked to a golden brown perfection. Besides being served with a side of marinara sauce, that's where the similarities end. It's got eggplant, in layers with seasoned meat, in this case I believe ground lamb. Topped, instead of melted cheese, you get what?! "Bechamel sauce"! Not sure what that is? I wasn't either. It was worth the google for the incredible texture it possessed. Almost like whipped mashed potatoes but close to a custard like firmness, it is really marvelous! As a waitress, Kari was attentive and well paced. I had water and coffee to drink, which by the way is very good, rich and flavorful. The entree came with a fresh, Greek salad. The dressing comes on the side so you can add to your liking. While dining, I couldn't help but notice the cooks which, much like a waffle house, are located out in front of the bar. They ran a well stocked, very clean kitchen. They displayed skill with their work and seem to have fun while working. I noticed blueberry pancakes on the skillet and at the end of my meal decided to have one a la carte. It was cooked to perfection, which was no surprise at this point. To conclude, there is nothing but love and accolades to give Five Points Restaurant. In my opinion they could change their name to Five Star Restaurant and it would not be boasting.

The food was great with low prices. We didn't wait long to get a table, even given the vast crowd that was the "lunch rush". The only problem I had was the service. Although our server was nice, she was severely unaware of her surroundings, often running into employees and customers while she walked around. This inattentiveness rolled over to her lack of attention to our order, where we had to repeat ourselves multiple times and she still ended up forgetting multiple things until we asked for them again.

As you know french fries are a common finger food, however, most are under cooked or extremely greasy. Not here the fried are outstanding, did I mention that the menu is huge and they have breakfast until 200 pm. They parking lot is always full so you might need to park around the corner. The short walk is worth the trip.

An amazing little diner. If you are expecting a super hippy brunch place, this isn't the place for you. It is super traditional and no fuss. I am in love with the grits here. The bacon is always perfectly crispy, just the way I order it. The food is very basic, but we'll done. My uncle has gone every single week for as long as I can remember and he is still not sick of the food there. Every time I visit Asheville, NC, I get breakfast at least once at Five Points. It is always a highlight of my vacation time.
