Good food and Friendly staff. Service was very slow, however. The cooked foods came to us piping hot and everything was delicious. The Mongolian beef is very good! I’m accustomed to raw sushi being very cold but mine when I got it was almost room temp. It was odd but nothing that would keep me from going back. Overall, I recommend giving Peter’s Sushi Spot a try.

Had a great experience at Peter's Sushi Spot. Peter serves up a "torched" nigiri that was as excellent as the ones I had in Osaka, Japan. I love contrasting a seared piece of fish with it's raw counterpart. The veggie tempura I has was also top notch. Highly recommend this spot for your sushi cravings!

Good food but terrible service! Felt ignored at the sushi bar during my entire stay . Took about 10 minutes to get noticed as a customer, another 10 or more to get the beer I ordered. Would have had one more but lost the urge after another 15 minute wait for attention. Do they know they’re leaving money on the table by ignoring patrons? Glad I had something to read.

The omikase(chef's choice) in my opinion is the best option here. We had 12 unique pieces of sushi and all of the different fish were so crazy fresh. I've found new favorites because of this restaurant. I also absolutely suggest the wagyu here. It's melt in your mouth perfection. Even their miso soup is the best I've ever had the umami in every sip is refreshing on a cold night.

First time here today and loved it! The outside looks underwhelming, but please go in! The decor is really nice and professionally done. Looks very upscale inside. We sat at the sushi bar and the waitress immediately brought waters and edemame. They have quite a lot to choose from on the menu, as well as sushi specials behind the bar. Kept it simple for our first visit. I had the Best Friend Roll ($14) and it was amazingly delicious. I highly recommend trying it. It is huge, stacked with crab meat, and I barely finished the 8pc. My wife had the crunch roll ($13). We both agreed it was one of the better crunch rolls we have had. I recommend sitting at the bar to watch! On top of everything, the staff was all very friendly. (I forgot to take pictures of the dishes themselves, but we will be back)

Took a little to be greeted, choose to sit at the bar. Ordered two apps and three rolls. Had gyoza, boom jalapeno poppers, fire fighter roll, ceviche roll, and the spider roll. Both apps were great, fire fighter and spider roll were really good. However the ceviche one felt a bit over powered by the yuzu on it. The miso soup was a little salty but was nice. Friends told me some of the saki was amazing.

Love the tuna poke. Subtle spiciness doesn't overwhelm the tuna. Tuna sweet & firm. Tart plum wine as accompaniment. updated and new review addition today 6/9/2019...pink moon roll below. spicy tuna, cuke, with chopped blue fin tuna and green onion topping. PETER'S is the best sushi restaurant in Anchorage.No gimmicks, no fuss, just cold fresh fish garnished in a variety of ways, but that don't overpower the fish itself. And still serve cold plum wine.

Peter is a consummate professional, making tight, well balanced, flavorful rolls day in and day out. He has the best fish anchorage can provide. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I'm glad he is still around after 20 plus years and multiple locations.

Food was good, we had the ceviche roll, gangnam roll & shrimp fried rice. The gangnam roll was pretty good with the fish on top is slathered with a sauce siratra based and I really enjoyed it. The ceviche roll, roll part was just a california roll with some kind of ceviche which was lack luster there. I was expecting a more robust tanggirness which is one of the best parts of ceviche. I'm not to sure about the fish used for the ceviche though. And now the shrimp fried rice was an egg style which was much to talk about. Flavor was pretty underwhelming and I don't like the oil used. It could use a little more shrimp in it which were a little overcooked btw. Went out for two with $72 out the door with 18% gratuity included. A little spendy but not to bad for mediocre food. The gangnam roll was good though!

Great food and can always get a spot to sit fairly quickly. I have dined at both the booths and the bar counter. Great service at both. I am gluten free and unfortunately unable to eat much (greatly miss tempura dishes), however, I am able to leave content and full with their California roll, edamame, hot tea, and miso soup. Recommend this restaurant for a relaxing evening with friends or solo.

I love this place. My boyfriend and I ordered takeout sushi from Peter’s this evening. I picked up my order and they forgot to give me one my rolls. They called me right away and I was able to go back and get the toll they forgot. They gave me free shrimp tempura to apologize for their mistake. The way a company handles a mistake is very telling, and they handled it very well. Also, their food is delicious!

4 different meals for four. Wonderful presentation. I had the Chicken Paad Tie` recommended by the Lady of the House rather than Chicken Yakisoba. Twas too much for me. All the other plates were clean. So you know it was good. So nice to hear others conversations.

I ordered a menagerie of nigiri sushi for delivery...wow... *WOW*... I've been a sushi lover for over 30 years and hadn't indulged in a sushi feast for far too long. This was amazing. Some of the best I've ever had. Highly recommended.

So my boss brought me here for my birthday and suggested the house fried rice . And omg was he right ! It was marvelous, like sunshine in my mouth it was breathtaking. And then for dessert they brought out these deep fried oreos with chocolate drizzled all over them which was absolutely scrumptious. This is definitely on my list for favorite restaurants in anchorage

This sushi was some of the best I’ve had, especially for Alaska. I ordered the J roll, which was so amazing. What I loved was that you could actually bite the sushi and not have to shove the entire thing in your mouth, making this the ideal location for a sushi date with Gus Schumacher. Along with the food, the ambiance was spectacular. As someone who has travelled to Japan three times, I felt that the decorations were revenant and gave off a comforting Asian vibe. THE BEST was at the end though, when the chef gave me and my friend, Gus, a California roll on the house. Best meal ever. :)

Peter's is one of my favorites. I love their lunch Bento box. It is a great price for a lot of food. The food is also very good. They have free refills on non-alcoholic drinks which is also nice as some small restaurants don't offer such a service. I always leave there full but not stuffed. The price point is very reasonable and the staff is very efficient.

The nigiri menu is highly specialized, including rare to find items such as Uni and O-Toro, as well as the Omakase (chef's choice). For the nigiri menu, I have not yet seen this restaurant out done. The quality and variety combined simply have not been matched. The proportions I would say are fairly standard, though the quality of the fish is of the highest grade. The sheer variety of choice of nigiri I have not seen anywhere else in this city. The service and environment are also of high quality. The sushi chefs are obviously highly experienced. The Uni was significantly fresher tasting at sushi & sushi, but other than that, this restaurant has everyone else below it. This has been my overall top tier #1 sushi spot in this state so far for a long time and they are very consistent. In summary, this is at the top tier for this city, especially for Nigiri & sashimi. Sushi & sushi comes close, but they don't have the variety available, though their Uni is of higher quality last time I experienced. *note: They do have White Tuna available, but not on the menu, ask for it. It was an amazing experience of wonderful food!! It is definitely a place to go when you come in town for sushi restaurant. I personally think it is #1 sushi restaurant in Anchorage. I tried omakase today for the first time for my birthday, but the quality of the sushi was amazing and fresh!! And when the chef knew that it was my birthday, he complimented me with one of the freshest parts of the tuna as sushi! It was one amazing brithday gift from the chef. Also, service cannot be leftout. The waitress was smiling all the time and the service was terrific! Please do come to this place and sit at the bar if you want some company with chef Peter!!

THIS WAS AMAZINNNG!! I ordered the best friend roll and it was above any sushi I have had!! I would recommend this place to anyone who is a sushi enthusiast. The restaurant was super cozy and not to loud like some restaurants are. I went on my one year anniversary date with my boyfriend Toby and it did not dissapoint. We have never enjoyed a meal or eachothers company so much. I would recommend this place to lovers and single Pringle’s alike. I saw some single Pringle’s as well and they were having a grand time with their above average sushi. I cannot stress this enough... GO TO PETERS SUSHI!!

This location had Alauthentic, Japanese style sushi with a hint of wasabi and finger in the individual pieces. Likely the most authentic I've had outside Japan. Though the flavor is not for the faint of heart though, it's got a kick. Tempura, rice, and chicken are all excellent. Location is warm and inviting. Sake list well balanced for both individuals and parties. Great sushi overall.

Critical for sushi, the fish here is always fresh. The rice is done to perfection not too sticky not too loose. They have a great selection of rolls but I prefer their Sashimi fish, which is a true test of how good a sushi restaurant is. The staff are lovely and make you feel like you're part of the family.

Sit at the sushi bar and put yourself in the chef's hands. Excellent quality sushi. Not uncommon for them to hand a special little taste or tidbit to you over the bar with a smile. Pete loves having children at the bar. If you are a vegetarian and enjoy nigiri, just communicate that and what a delightful plate of surprises arrive on your plate. Menu and specials are always changing. My favorite Anchorage sushi place.

I. LOVE. THIS. PLACE. I used to go to the old location before it burned down. I was very excited to see that they had a new location and were still serving my favorite dish! (Unagi Donburi). The food is exquisite and the dining environment is perfect for those intimate conversations or those group outings that require a quiet dining experience. The waitstaff is knowledgeable and readily willing to offer comments and recommendations. Overall, the experience is awesome and I will definitely be keeping this place at the top of my list of japanese-style restaurants!

The best sushi spot I have tried in Anchorage, and being Japanese with a seafood background, I am a bit picky about my sushi. Be warned that if you order the items that make it the best spot, with a few drinks it could easily cost $100 per head. Bluefin Toro, wagyu beef, hirame are all items hard to find in town, i recommend ordering the "omakase/chef's choice" sushi. $45 for ten pieces. $55 for 12 pieces. Split with a friend then order more if needed. You get premium nigiri sushi. Service always seems friendly, with no complaints on anything we have ordered. Definitely recommend for a quality experience though a bit more expensive, mainly because we order the high end items that are hard to find in other locations.

Came here with some friends after it was highly recommended. Tried the AK samurai roll (spicy yellow tail), yellow tail and Japanese snapper nigiri, tempura udon, jjampong, and a 3 piece set of torched items (included salmon, wagyu beef, and bluefin tuna). The sushi was exceptional and I would highly recommend trying the bluefin tuna and wagyu beef. The udon and jjampong surprised me because at most sushi restaurants having non seafood items generally brings the quality of everything else down. Not the case here, would definitely come back again.

Miso soup appetizer should be on the house. Quality not like Jimmys or Ronnie’s, same roll from other places didn’t have the taste or texture here. It was plain. For being expensive you should expect quality.

Pete's is always a treat. The sushi is the freshest by far, and the most adventurous! I've been enjoying Pete's Sushi since 1992 when he first immigrated to this country. Granted, I haven't been for a few years, but back when I lived in Alaska, Peter's was a go-to for our family. I recommend the bibimbap, and the miso. I also recommend grabbing a chair and on the sushi bar and watching the magic happen.
