Reviews of Kumagoro
What an awesome experience. Friendly staff, quick service and overall fun setting. I wasn't sure about sushi in downtown Anchorage (reviews were better in midtown), but I am so glad I came in for everything described above. Will definitely stop by on my next trip through Anchorage and i would recommend for you to do the same.
The food tasted pretty good. We got a roll, a bowl, ramen, and some nigiri. The presentation was beautiful. The waitress tried her best to serve everyone and take phone orders, but she definitely could use another set of hands to help out.
The only real downside was the price of the sushi items.
One of the wildest sushi rolls I've tried! I got Crazy Devil (quite spicy) and Rainbow rolls. Sushi was spot on, very delicious. They indeed were busy but I didn't mind waiting, frankly it was worth it. Prices may be a bit more, but nowadays it's pretty standard.
Overall, awesome! Will definitely visit again!
Had lunch there few days again. Ordered one lbs king grab legs. $70. Four pieces. Udon soup $16 or $18. I forgot it. Two sushi dishes, everything is okay. The young waitress seems new to work there. Asked a few questions, she has no answers.
Sushi was some of the best we’ve ever had, if not THE best. Trust the chef and go for the sushi dinner, you won’t be sorry! Plenty of variety and amazing service. Definitely make this a stop if you’re looking for a sushi spot/great meal in Anchorage.
Excellent spot. Service was friendly and sushi was top quality. We got the Spicy Rainbow roll, yellow tail roll, and tuna and salmon Maki. All great flavors especially on the spicy Rainbow! Would definitely recommend and come back!
This sushi was amazing. Presentation was great and we asked them to surprise us with 2 rolls. The sushi artist nailed it! Wait staff was great and so nice. Definitely Recommend coming here!!
Extremely delicious food! First time I've tried real ramen. 100% will go again, loved every bite. The service was good and the food came out quickly. Comfortable location and environment too! If you like pork with a hint of spice get the Miso Chashumen! The Halibut Roll was also VERY tasty
I love this restaurant! We ordered Kenai roll, fried rice with shrimp and this appetizer made of salmon, rice and seaweed. Everything was so delicious! The waitress also was very nice.
So, this restaurant has great Japanese food and great service. ⭐️👏

I love Kumagoro. My dear beloved late Uncle took me here many years ago. I am so glad this place is still here for me to honor my Uncle’s memory by having a meal at Kumagoro now and then when I can afford to do so.
Kumagoro’s Dragon Roll (barbecued eel, sauce & sesame seeds on a Cali Roll) is one of the absolute best foods I’ve ever eaten in my entire life. I am very much looking forward to my next visit.
I have the sincerest and highest respect for the family that owns and operates this wonderful restaurant; their mastery of their craft, talent, dedication and professionalism is top-tier and inspiring for us all.
Such an awesome place!
Ordered 3 rolls and fish was super fresh, chef greeted us and was super friendly and client oriented, customer service was great. Highly recommended ❤️🙌
What an awesome find in downtown Anchorage! Fast, friendly service with some delicious sushi! Will definitely be back when we come through again!
I've visited them on a handful of occasions and they always serve kindly and provide high quality sushi. I came in on Friday for a quick evening meal right after last call but they were nice enough to let me grab a roll before closing and weren't upset or rude about it. They made a delicious crunch roll in about 5 minutes. It was the fastest roll I've ever ordered. The seating is comfortable but could be better in my opinion. Parking is a block or two away if you can't find a parking meter nearby. Overall, this definitely one of the better sushi restaurants in town and it's right downtown.
Service was great, takoyaki was amazing, tried some of my friends pork katsu and it was amazing. Sukiyaki is overpriced. It tasted really good but it had a lot of tofu and not much steak. If I get to eat here again, I'll get the takoyaki and the pork katsu. Best bang for your buck.
Food was good, broth and meat could’ve used more flavor but probably the best Ramen spot in Anchorage. Has a great atmosphere and server Sarah does a great job accommodating to your needs
I really enjoyed my meal here. Generous cuts of sashimi and friendly staff. Thanks for a wonderful meal :)
The food here is so good. Honestly this place blew me away with the quality of the food. It's hard to find good ramen in most places, but they seem to have it down really well here. The sushi is also really fantastic. The staff here is super nice as well. I absolutely recommend this place and plan to come back whenever I'm craving Japanese cuisine.
Ramen and sushi were great. They were slammed, so our sushi took longer than normal, so the friendly server brought us a delicious ice cream mochi dessert for free! Definitely coming back!
We enjoyed a quick dinner here on our last evening in Anchorage. We had a spicy roll and the Hae Dup Nap dish -- sashimi salad over rice with spicy sauce. The food was tasty and the service was good.
Huge menu, great food! It can get busy so patience with busy staff required
Amazing food, and the staff are superb! Best sushi in Anchorage.
Great restaurant for lunch and dinner downtown without breaking the bank. The food is high quality and the prices are reasonable and fair. The sashimi is safe to eat raw and didn't have any stomach issues. They can also accommodate large groups of about 30 people.
Some of the best salmon sashimi I’ve had! Good portion for the price too. Great service and exemplary food, highly recommend!
Delicious food! Service is good! Clean and nice staff!
Ordered sushi and champon. Sushi was amazing! Large amounts and fresh!
Champon. Flavor was great! Super spicy! Plenty of seafood! I had at least 3 mussels in shells in my broth. Downside, the seafood was a little tough and chewy. Still flavorful and good, just a bit overdone. Will definitely be ordering again.
We ate here a while back and loved it. There’s a few good Japanese restaurants in town, and I’d put this one toward the top of the list. Especially downtown. It was high quality, flavorful, and the service was great! We want to go again!
Excellent experience, my first time here.
The nigiri is high quality, even the uni sea urchin was nice.
Ordered the sake salmon, maguro tuna, white tuna, ikura salmon roe, uni sea urchin. All was very nice and reasonable proportions.
A warm welcoming environment and was busy when I came in.
I'm glad to find a sushi spot downtown, I'll be coming again.
Recommended.
(Do note you'll have to ask about the uni, it's not on the menu)
Had dinner for one. I thought it would be cheap to eat there. No, it was not. Ordered Katsu Chicken with curry ($18.00) and a small soda size drink called Sweet Touche Beer ($10.00). More like a Kern type of drink with lychee flavor. Total costs $30.50 with tips. Thier menu with prices is not up to date. Otherwise, I would have ordered something else. 3 stars because they also refused to serve an elderly native in a wheelchair. I was seated by the entrance. Manger or owner asked him to leave.
Great food, wonder service. Had some ramen, the Anchorage Sushi roll and the tempura combo. All of it was delicious. Will definitely order from again!
Very good quality control, Korean owner with some Chinese employee. We ate here twice during our 1 week incursion at the Last Frontier. Halibut Teriyaki is better than Salmon, very juicy meat. The fish meat is so phat an plentiful as if it was cut by a Costco clerk, it was the wonderful start to our Alaska trip. We came here for 2nd time 4 days later after being severely traumatized by bad food at other place, did not disappoint, sushi chef is a chill guy and dining area does contact tracing, very socially responsible.
People have been telling me for years to check this place out and I wish I had listened sooner... it was amazing and I see many trips in the future to try as much of the menu as possible!
This place is great! The sushi was incredible. From top to bottom we had the Caterpillar, Rainbow, Best Friend and Sake Maki (all are missing one piece because we couldn’t wait to try). All were top notch flavor and the pieces were huge. My boyfriend and I shared these four rolls and we were completely satisfied and stuffed. Don’t let the prices of the rolls scare you, our dinner came to a decent price for the amount and quality of food we had!
The staff was friendly, in a quiet way. The dining area is large and welcoming to all types of groups. By far the best sushi in Anchorage and among the best we’ve ever had in the USA.
Good Japanese place compared to other Japanese places in town. Quite a range of selection but isn't what you can expect out of a true Japanese restaurant. The shabu is warm but the beef had only one selection (meaning no A4, A5 to be expected and no typical Japanese sauce), it kept us warm though
Enjoyed the meal should have went with the kimchee noodle but the spicy pork miso was great though
I live near the coast in Florida so I am picky about sushi. This place has some of the best I’ve ever had. The quality of fish is phenomenal and Kevin is a master sushi chef. Definitely a pro at what he does!
The sushi here was very good. The pokeball with salmon was really fantastic slightly on the spicy side but very filling delicious. The Anchorage roll was really excellent I would highly recommend it to anybody that comes here.
Kumagoro is my favorite sushi restaurant in Anchorage. If you’re looking for nigiri specifically (pictured) this is your stop! Their rolls and ramen are also very tasty.
Had the tempura udon. Loved the broth, I’d come back for sure. Also realized I don’t like fried rolls vs rice rolls lol but that’s my own taste, buddy who likes em said it was good. Service was good. Recommend!
It was great. I wish you can have more waiters to help get food quicker. There was one lady serving everyone wish she did an awesome job but more is needed to take orders and service faster
Great quality fish, I only got the nigiri, and the texture of the fish is so soft/melt in your mouth. It's like $6+ for 2 nigiri, up to I believe $13 for the most expensive nigiri variety. I will say the rice didn't completely stick together, but that could've just been the one night I was there. 10/10 would recommend if you wanting good fish :D
I ordered a side of Kimchi, miso, and ramen. Food was a tad bit late but the ambience of the restaraunt is great so waiting wasnt too bad. Sapporo on tap for Japanese beer lovers.
Server did her best and was polite, thank you.
Best kimchi of any restaraunt in Anc. Ramen hit the spot.
Thanks for Dinner.
Check them out
This restaurant is a family favorite. Always accommodating and the food is out of this world. The atmosphere is relaxed and very friendly. For authentic Japanese food this is your place.
The food was good and friendly staff. If you are here, try their Kenai Sushi and Spicy Champon.
Great Asian spot! Try the sockeye salmon sushi! It’s unreal!
My wife and I got chicken fried rice, udon chicken curry, and kimchi. All good food!
Delicious food, prepared expertly. Sushi chef is exceptional. Food is authentic and satisfying!
I had high expectations but agree w some reviewers - the ramen (pork) was very bland and not tasty at all. Good prices at least.
Great sushi!! Highly recommend
Been to a few Michelin star omakase places and their nigeri was honestly comparable. Make sure to sit at the sushi bar and you’ll have a great experience. Still thinking about the salmon belly
The food was good I ordered the curry and rice not a whole lot of people so it felt pretty open
Delivered today 8 p.m. Simply Amazing definitely going to be ordering from here again sorry this review is so short I have to get back to eating🤣 …
Love the food here. Great taste with fresh crab and fresh salmon. The miso soup and Salmon teriyaki are good too. My kids want to go there everyday during our stay! 😂 …
If you ever visit anchorage definitely try this place out! The sushi is super fresh and delicious and staff is incredibly friendly. this restaurant very quickly became our families go to spot for the week.
The food was delicious and the beer was refreshing. Perfect for the summer heat. :D
Unassuming is a good description. Standard sushi spot with good tasting rolls! The miso soup was flavorful and so was the seaweed salad.
Fantastic decoration and ambiance. The staff was very attentive and polite. I ordered the spicy champon ramen and couldn't have been happier. Highly recommend giving this place a shot.
Good place to eat, teriyaki chicken is good
Today I had shrimp fried rice it was delicious. Good place to take family or friends having sushi and sake
We were downtown for Iditarod and trying to find a place to eat. We were lucky to get a table here. It was the best Japanese food I’ve had besides when in Japan. Good prices, huge servings and very friendly staff. A+
Very good Sushi nice clean atmosphere and very friendly staff.
What a delight to find this gem of a Restaurant in Anchorage. I had excellent udon and a salmon hand roll. The salmon sushi was so outstanding that we are returning this evening for a sushi/sashimi feast.
Best sushi and sashimi in Anchorage and wonderful service. I started with all the Alaska salmon they could give me - delicious. My colleague with a bunch of stuff we ate there for hours. Soup with the home made noodles was great! We did try on another night another sushi place and it was terrible. This place is head and shoulders above the competition from what I can tell. Laid back and low key like Alaska but a nice service, competent and friendly.
It started off well with the king salmon and yellow tail sashimi and the gyozo but then went downhill with the halibut and prawn tempura. The batter was too thick and greasy. Then the king crab speciality roll had v little crab and the deep fried jalapeño roll which was clumsy.
This sushi is great! They have a lot of selection of sushi plus they have Ramen and other things. The service was great! I definitely recommend!
This is probably one of the only places in town you can get shabu shabu, even though it’s a bit pricey it’s worth it for what it is. The fish is also really fresh every time I come here which is great.
Very fresh. I had the chefs deluxe it was 4 sashimi, 4 California rolls and 4 sushi. My only complaint was that the sushi and sashimi were the same 2 fish. I would have expected at least 3 or better yet 4 different cuts. What I did get was very good though.
Sushi was delicious, fish was fresh, service was friendly
Meh.
Had two different sushi dishes and the Curry Chicken dish.
Average at best. But good for Alaska standards.
Good sushi prepared quickly. Good dessert options. Overall great experience every time I've been there!
One of the best tonkatsu ramen bowls I’ve had! The broth was flavored well and the noodles were perfect! Only downside was the pork slices were a bit dry and bland.
Teriyaki beef was thinly sliced and not chewy, very yummy!
Other members in my party also liked the yakisoba and orange chicken!
Servers were very nice and efficient with a party of 6!
I have been to Japan on multiple occasions... I was also born there. I also live in a major lower 48 city and have to give a shout out to the freshness and size of the fish here as it is on par with Japan. I sat at the sushi bar and the service was on point. I thought the prices were also on point. I would definitely come back here next time I am in Anchorage.
This is really good sushi joint. Very surprising very surprising! Sushi is top notch. The sushi chef is really good. And the food is well priced. Well worth The Visit. You won't be disappointed.
Kumagoros has been in downtown Anchorage as long as I can remember. Japanese sushi places have come and go but this still remains. I hadn't been to it in years.
My brother came for a visit this summer and both of us growing up in Japan, we decided to give it a try. Menu remains pretty much the same except for those crazy named rolls that have become so popular. Back in the day, things were much simpler and authentic in a sushi way.
I wanted to try the ramen, it used to be so good. I was rather disappointed at how soft the noodles were, very over cooked. The broth was okay, not great...portions huge.
My brother and the other members of our family all opted to get the katsu which is deep fried pork or chicken cutlet cut into strips. They do a great job with their deep fry and again the portions huge. My son got the katsu curry which gives you a small bowl of curry and again that was a disappointment. The Japanese have their own style of "curry" and it was not represented well.
Overall the food was decent but not I want it again good. Anchorage needs a good ramen joint.
good service. King crab is normal, but sorted shrimp is very delicious.
I like this place because they actually have a nice vegetable roll that’s more than just cucumbers. The rolls and lunch bento boxes are generously sized. The veggie noodles and edamame are also good. Service was great for dine in and we were happy with our delivery order too.
Good sushi and sake options!
They probably have the best sushi chef in Anchorage! I also love their King Salmon teriyaki - love that they use Alaska Wild Salmon, and it is NOT over cooked. I've ordered it twice and both time were cooked perfectly juicy.
Good sushi overall, ordered the veggie rolls. But WHY the styrofoam packaging for takeout. Its a nice restaurant, and picking cheap, bad for the environment packaging for food just doesn't make sense. Please change to compostable takeout boxes.
Really like the sushi. It’s close to my job. 15min pickup. But they don’t ever give me soy sauce even when I ask for extra when ordering.
But the sushiiiii is so good! Lots of options and the dressing on their house salad? Yummy !
Friendly staff and excellent fresh sushi. I think it's one of the best in Downtown west anchorage area. Newly remodeled and it looks more modern and clean Big flat screen TV to see basket ball and sports with beer after work. My daughter loved their food. I never seen her eat so much. I think we will be back soon.
We hit the jackpot! I got the Las Vegas roll. Best sushi I’ve had since we were in Vegas.
Busy but clean. Quick and delicious food. Nice variety.
Good service and the food was ok👌 …
Living downtown this placebhas become one of my favorite destinations. Since the closures amist 2020 I have been ordering delivery. Pretty quick and no mistakes with delivery service. The service while dining in was always fantastic. All the food is justbas wonderful. I always get a roll or two and enjoy every item I have tried so far. Even the salads are fresh and the dressing is great. Highly recommend.
I LOVE oysters, so I’m always trying to find new places and taste what they have to offer. I came here for the Summer Solstice and OMG. Great service and even BETTER oysters! Comparable to Bubbly Mermaid and a lot easier to get into. I WILL be back!!
Best spicy Koean champong noodles soup.also other dish sushi, curry combo. Also delicious. Excellent Service. You all should try it. If you going to Anchorage Alaska.
Great experience, shabu shabu on point 👌👌 …
AMAZING. Everything we ate tonight was absolutely phenomenal.
Recommend:
- Tempura Combo
- Baked Baby Octopus
- Yellowtail Roll
Going back soon to try the ramen, other rolls, and hot pots!
The service here is top notch and the food is awesome. I ordered the ramen and I was beyond impressed by the fresh noodles and great flavors. I'll try the sushi on my next visit but I will definitely be back.
Nice atmosphere, good food, great music
Went around 4 o'clock and the service was nice and quick. Ordered two rolls; one the Crunchy roll the other Philadelphia roll and they were both great. I would consider worth the price for quality of ingredients and taste.
The ramen is made in house! The broth is tasty and not too salty. The gayoza was nicely fried.
We really enjoyed our meal. Great food. Well worth going.
Ordered through Door Dash. Order was fast and came hot. The pictures on the online menu make some of it look much bigger then it is. But the taste was good so I didn't mind that. The only thing I had a problem with was I ordered what I assumed was a California ROLL nope it is all the stuff for a California roll but rolled like a gyro in seaweed paper. Lost a star for that. I would order from them again, just that that.
Great sushi. Located on the main drag downtown so it's easy to find.
This review is from a sushi-bar kind of guest. Hand made gyoza, pan fried to perfection. Realllly good fresh oysters, fresh and different every visit. Their sushi rice is almost always perfect; i had some rice that was a bit dry one time but every other time was as close to perfect as anyone in Anchorage is offering. Skilled knife hand behind the bar. I get nigiri almost exclusively and my bites are always soooo good. Highly recommend!!! Super friendly staff!!!
I love sushi and it all started a long time ago when I was a little kid trying sushi for the first time at Kumagoro. I went there the other day and the sushi was still so good I was told by my friend that I shouldn't be allowed to eat sushi in public because the face I was making was more suited to the bedroom. This place is constantly a wonderful experience.
Ps. Coldest women's bathroom you will ever use, bring your jacket.
Good sushi. The place is a bit dark, but if you are on the neighborhood and you like sushi, stop by.
I dined alone. The staff was very pleasant and I enjoyed the food.
Everything was perfect. In addition, I forgot my credit card at the restaurant.
Even the restaurant was already closed ,the staff waited for me to come back and get my credit card. I was impressed. I recommend this place and I wish the staff and the owners a very propserous and Happy New Year!
New owners and new menu. If you have been here before it's worth a trip back to see the improvements.
Excellent food, customer service & atmosphere. The oysters were fresh delivered that day
Best sushi I have had in Anchorage! Fish is always fresh. There are always Japanese tourists in there. Sushi bar chef is amazing, fast, friendly and knows his business. If you do not like raw fish, try the cooked stuff. It is all unbelievable. Especially the soup and gyoza!! And no, I do not own the place.
Owner of place was nice to put table in front of doors for 5 of us to eat
Good food
Objectively the best authentic japanese cuisine in Anchorage. I have frequented here for years trying a variety of different choices on their menu from the ramen, dinner boxes, and chirashi to their rolls, and sukiyaki. Quality and richness in depth has never disappointed. Prices are steep but would argue are worth the quality and service.
Used to be the best food in Anchorage. Best sushi for sure. Always has Japanese people eating there.
Ok. So the Hon family sold the business about a year ago. The new owners changed the menu and Mr. Misaki left. The food is now okay, but not as authentic as before. I go to Silk on Benson across from the Mid- Town Mall because that's where Mr. Misaki ended up, the sushi chef. The parking is easier than downtown, the sushi is cheaper and you get more.
We really like this place! They have a wide selection of sushi and Japanese food. The atmosphere is nice, and the restaurant is usually quiet. Service is always excellent.
UPDATE 2/19/2019.
So there has been a change in management. Took down our 5 star rating. Not many people in the resturant, service initially attentive. They gave some updates to the decor, but took down the cool plants that the kids liked to look at. We represented a table of 5, with 2 kiddos. Sushi was okay, but there seemed to be a decrease in qyality. Menu same but not the same as before. The King Crab(Kani) was dry for the 3 orders. No follow up on the meal served. Check was delivered to the kids end of the table while adults in discussion, so we sat awhile waiting. We will try it again.
PAST review:
5 star. Long time favorite of my wife's family growing up. Tempura Kitchen though was their number one. Feel that this is perhaps the closest legit Sushi in town. Lot's of psuedo Japanese joints, but they have maintauned a more traditional approach. Just not a sushi place though, lots of other Japanese cuisine. You don't go for a fancy decor or hipster mixologist, you go for deliciousness!
The atmosphere was comfy and the staff was very friendly. Enjoyed the sushi roll I had there. Can’t wait to return to try different dishes!
Great sushi! Wonderful, friendly service.
The food was great and the atmosphere was nice too. Out server was fast, regular, and helpful. On the downside - the portions are small and the prices are high. It was a nice place, but I won't be back just given the sheer ouch factor to my budget.
We went to Kumagoro for my birthday lunch!! It was awesome. The lobster roll was great and my husband loved the tempura shrimp. Soup was great. And excellent service.
Food was excellent! Service was friendly
Ramen was great.
Fantastic food that is so consistent! My wife and I love ordering from here. It truly is top notch Japanese food.
Waitress was friendly and offer to split the bill for our table. Free flow green tea for $1. Typical Jap menu. they've teriyaki, ramen, sushi and rolls etc. The lunch menu is more value for money than dinner.
When we traveled Ancharage, we wanted to eat Japanese foods. Kuma means Bear. Goro is japanese given Name. So naming will become Kuma plus GoroKumagoro. My son favorite Ikura ( egg of Salomon). TAste is nice and quality quantity also very satisfied. I visited here about 35 years b4. I am so gald to find this restaurant on the map, even now same name ad same location.
I hear from others that there are not good things to say about Kumagoro! The only opinion that matters to me is mine! I have nothing but the best food and service there these past 22yrs! I am glad the never found a buyer! The best unkept secret un Anchorage to me and many others. Best Sushi in Anchorage to me!
I saw some soldiers go in. Thought I would try it. It has sushi if you want. We did not but it has other options. We had the Box with Shrimp 😁 very good ! …
My husband and I had the Ramen and Girlfriend roll, both were delicious and the service was great. We definitely plan to go back!
Clean and fast service!
Food is great, service not so much! Waited a long time for our orders. When food came mine was not served . Waited another 30 mins for it.
Very fresh sushi and excellent quality. Wonderful style and authentic tastes. Went in on a whim and now have a favorite.
Oh my goodness! So delicious and very friendly place!
Food is ok. Service is also OK. One of the better sushi places in Anchorage.
Excellent service and delicious sushi. We really loved the King Kong roll
The food was awesome and good service, loved it!!
It was really quiet when we were there. Clean, spacious, friendly staff, great food and I like some of their different dishes. We would eat there again.
Customer service is awesome and food is delicious. Extensive menu with so much more than sushi to choose from.
Great food and service. We try sushi restaurants all over the world and this place is our favorite for their authentic Japanese cuisine.
Delicious food. Comfortable environment. Wonderful food. Excellent service. Great food. Prices may be a bit high, though not especially unreasonable. The food is exquisite, though.
Excellent Japanese restaurant within walking distance of a few hotels. Fast and friendly service, wide selection of Japanese foods, and great service.
A delicious meal. I had salmon teriyaki, sashimi, salad, miso, and rice. Expensive, but nice to have delicious, authentic-ish japanese food in Anchorage.
Kumagoro is an excellent sushi restaurant in Anchorage. The menu has a wide range of choices and you can't go wrong with any one.
This place is amazing! The food is amazing and so are the people. I won’t go to anywhere else in Anchorage for sushi again.
Awesome Japanese food walking distance to train station.
Food and service were EXCEPTIONAL!!!
Amazing food, cozy atmosphere.
It's quite high on price, the sashimi is so fresh, so good...and service is wonderful! They have hot pots too : )
The best Spicy Champon!
The food was great and the service was kind. The restaurant itself is a very quiet relaxed atmosphere. The food was exactly what I wanted it to be!
Great sushi as always from Kumaguroo Anchorage!
The king salmon sashimi reminds me of Tokyo. The chef is accommodating and personable. Highly recommended!
In my top 3 Japanese restaurants in Anchorage. Love the downtown location. Always good food and service.
Fresh, sweet and delicious. These folks stayed open throughout the virus hideout. Good on ya
Friendly atmosphere, and our sushi rolls were on point
Great sushi, handcrafted to order & excellent service.
Sit by the bar so you can watch the main man create his art!
Freshest sushi in Anchorage. Family has been a customer for ages and this is the place I will always bring my friends from out of town.
For many years I've had the best service, atmosphere and food at this wonderful restaurant! Two thumbs WAY up.
Good food, never very busy. Very fresh sushi-very highly recommend!!!
Super yummy and great quality sushi!
Our first stop in Anchorage. Great food. Friendly staff. Excellent with food suggestions.
I love the black cod in the box dinner. So delish.sorta like traditional Indigenous foods.
Really good food, good service! We enjoyed ourselves!
I love the sushi, I love the services, I love all the meals. I found my new sushi home!!!! 💗💗💗 …
Very good flavor 👌 …
Great, delicious, authentic sushi and Japanese food worthy of a 5 star rating.
Very good. Sashimi, Ramen were amazing. We will be back.
(Not-so-hidden) gem, this place has great, fresh and high quality sushi in downtown Anchorage.
Outstanding job on take out orders, everything was spot on!!! Ramen here is our favorite!
Food was ok, but expensive. Typical, Americanized Japanese/Asian fusion, but I guess I shouldn't expect much in Alaska.
Best Gyoza and best sushi in town. I love their Dangerous roll and mixed pokki.
I think it's the best place in town for gyoza..... newly remodeled and great sushi....
I used to eat here for dinner. I love sushi and excellent service. A+++++
Large menu, hard to decide what to get. Service is great and atmosphere inviting. Will come back for more.
Absolutely fantastic sushi boat. Worth every penny.
Really great place! Great food from sushi too ramen!
Great Beer good sushi, just at visitors information centre mid of downtown
My favorite restaurant in downtown anchorage! They have amazing Raman and even better sushi!
Very tasty and super fast.
It was my 2nd time here and it was great both times.
A solid lunch spot, I wouldn't go out of my way but super nice service and pretty good food.
I went there and it had the best udon I've ever had
Food and service is the best. Kumagoro steak always hits the spot!
