Attentive and wonderful staff. Excellent calamari and bacon wrapped dates. Halibut fish and chips were near perfect. Loved the bratwurst plate. Desert topped off the whole evening. Large wine selection and great beers and signature cocktails.

We always drive by this place and finally took a chance on going in for a nicer date night. We were pleasantly surprised! The interior was nicer than the expected “bar and grill” vibe that we had anticipated. Our meals were delicious. The server took the time to recommend several cocktails and beers which we also really enjoyed. Definitely recommend for a dinner out!

The tables had all been reserved, but the bar was open. I could see the servers were very busy, constantly moving, but always maintaining calm easiness. Very pleasant, appropriately attentive, food and drinks came out at exactly the right time. Best meal I’ve had in a very long time. Our server at the bar was Taylor (#1), who did truly an amazing job during a very busy dinner hour. Food and drinks were absolutely delicious. (Cocktails, lamb with tzatziki, veggies, and pita, beef stroganoff, the mushroom bacon Swiss burger made from ground filet mignon, followed by the apple cheese cake with caramel, blueberries, and whipped cream) ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A good restaurant with a nice comfortable place to visit with friends. Service is good. The waiters all were friendly and creating an easy-going atmosphere. However, the food was just average. The oysters we ordered smelled not right. The calamari legs, lobster, scallops all lacked of that slightly sweet flavor. The textures of the fish were not controlled very well, all were overcooked, in my perspective. A poem: Suitable for one of the top fine dining establishments in all of Anchorage. Enjoy! I was rushing for a date, 45 min late! Kind waitress still seated us with no wait. Oh the wine! Crisp and a flavor unique Nothing but perfection for the Halibut cheek My date's steak was so so soft and red See the pictures! This was a great dinner. Well worth the extra day of waiting after finding out it's basically by reservation only this time of year. If you wanted to share how to make our drinks (Cat's Pajamas and Gold Rush), I'd be very happy. The fried brie was insane. I don't understand why more restaurants don't have it. I could eat the fried brie from here every week and never get tired of it. The fried halibut and chips were very tasty. My duck breast was great, but I could make a meal out of a plate of those maza balls and chorizo meatballs. We were originally going to get creme brulee, but then a waiter walked through the dinning area with that truffle cake. We got the truffle cake and it was perfect. Rich chocolate with hard chocolate drizzled over the top and a raspberry sauce. I need more of it. I may need to come back to Anchorage just to eat here again.

We had a group dinner at Kinley's and went in the side door so we did not see the restaurant proper. The group space was nothing very special other than it was a large room that could accommodate multiple tables. Dinner was quite good, but not as good as Orso. The Alaskan rockfish was good, but the star of the show with that dish was the green curry lemongrass sauce. House salad was good as was the tangerine mint sorbet was an absolute surprise and treat. Likely worth a visit as a small party to check out the whole menu.

Service was amazing. The ravioli was not my favorite and they let me order something else (the falafel and creme brûlée were to die for). Decor inside and outside is outdated, but the food makes up for it. Make a reservation and enjoy.

This was the first time I have eaten at this Establishment. I've never been to what you would call Fancy restaurants before and this place by far blew my mind. The atmosphere is so warm everything I tried was absolutely Amazing I can't wait to go back.

My husband and I ventured into Kinley's Restaurant not really knowing what to expect. It was a Thursday evening around 7pm, and they were very busy. Thankfully, we were seated promptly at one of the tall chair tables behind the bar. The restaurant was clean, and had a lively atmosphere. I'll be honest, my husband and I are both on the picky side when it comes to different sauces and foods we're not familiar with, and that was basically Kinley's entire menu for us. We did finally settle on the Almond Halibut Crusted filet, cherry and apple cider beurre blanc, jasmine rice, chef vegetables. Of course, we had to ask our sweet server to explain to us what the cherry and apple cider beurre Blanc was, and she happily explained. We opted to order it on the side. When our food was brought to our table, we were very pleasantly surprised. It looked very pleasing, and I must say was delicious! While my husband did not eat his cherry and apple cider beurre Blanc, I enjoyed some of it with my fish. It reminded me of a cherry pie filling. Our server, Taylor, was extremely attentive, and made our meal very relaxing and enjoyable. We were served quickly in spite of the restaurant being quite busy.

The food here was really good. The rock cod seems to take on whatever flavor it's cooked with, so you can taste the coconut really well, the veggies with it were great too. The sauce for the pork wasn't overly powerful, it wasn't overly salty either, very good. Cheesecake for dessert was decedent. The wait staff was funny and we got along with them well. They hadn't heard of the drink I ordered but they said if I knew what was in it they'd make it, so they were able to make the drink I like. Thank you!

A bit loud to try having a conversation. But that's not a compliant, its part of being a dang good restaurant. I had a good time on my 1st date with a wonderful lady. The bacon wrapped dates were awesome just as I remember them and the beverages were perfect. Our server was polite and attentive to our needs. Good job miss. Thank you goes out KINLEY'S

Tables were all reserved out so we sat at the bar. The bartenders were both top notch and provided excellent service. The food was amazing and portion sizes were just right. Will definitely come back to the next time we’re in Anchorage.

The food was wonderful and the atmosphere was great! But everytime I had a request for staff the response was "that's a question for your server". We had several different people taking orders and bringing food, which made it difficult to actually KNOW who was our server. I wanted to place an order for to go, but ended up choosing not to because no one was willing to take the order!

Started with the fried brie appetizer and it was delicious. I would return just for the brie. We also got the bacon wrapped dates which were nothing special. I went here knowing that I wanted a steak so I got the only option on the menu. A filet mignon topped with blue cheese, bordelaise sauce and a little piece of fried prosciutto. The cut of meat was thick and it was cooked just how I ordered it, medium rare. But it really lacked flavor. I really wanted that grilled taste but it just wasn't there. My dining companion got the halibut cheeks and she enjoyed those. The service was fast and friendly. If you're looking for a steak, go elsewhere. I would say if you're in the immediate area and wanting some fine dining (or just some delicious brie) give it a shot. Otherwise, I'd try somewhere else.

Excellent cook, but maybe not the best ingredients? The Filet Mignon was cooked perfectly to order, according to color, but came across as the steak we cook at home. We eat out because I don't want to learn the aging process that makes steaks you can cut with a fork. It would have been ok, but the price reflects that of the best steak houses in town.

This is a pretty good place to grab some elevated dishes, whether you're looking for seafood or not. The menu has appealing options and specials across the board. The halibut cheeks are definitely a star dish, with a perfectly-paired risotto and delicious accompanying sauce. I also love the bacon wrapped dates appetizer. Apart from these, other things I've tried were pretty average, including an over-cooked halibut. They have good happy hour deals, especially if you like to enjoy a glass of wine. Kinley's is worth a visit if you're looking to explore good Anchorage cuisine.

Place is really nice, the food is amazing. We ordered the almond crusted halibut and the sesame crusted rockfish. Both were really good. The halibut came with a little sweet cherry and apple cider buerre blanc. The portions are pretty good too, didn't have room to try anything else. Easy to make a reservation on OpenTable.

Excellent service. You can tell the chef takes great pride in his food, it was delicious! I got the special which was scallops in a white cream sauce, with asparagus and new potatoes. My husband got the halibut cheeks. Loved it so much, we are going back next weekend🤣

Ask for Gideon to be your waiter if you like an attentive server with a sense of humor. All of the food was mindblowingly fantastic except for the duck entree, which was overdone, and the gnocchi that came with it was way too large and a terrible mouthfeel. My lamb sliders (no tzatziki) were amazing. I mmmm’ed through every bite. Then I ordered the fish and chips. Their fries just might be the best fries I’ve ever had in my life. Do not miss this place!!

We were tired of fried seafood and wanted something more sophisticated , so we decided to give this place a try based on the reviews. Wow, totally exceeded our expectation. The New Zealand venison was perfectly done at medium-rare. The mashed potatoes were smooth and creamy, paired with the mushrooms and gravy, just simply perfection. The halibut cheek with risotto was also amazing. The cheek was juicy and tender. The risotto was creamy and cheesy. Highly recommend this place.

The menu offers several different items. I enjoyed the beets and olives followed by rockfish as my main dish. My partner ordered the shrimp. A very nice aspect to our experience was an attentive staff who provided superb care. The chocolate truffle dessert topped with their homemade ice cream made it a perfect evening.

What a wonderful surprise. This is our first time in Anchorage didn't know anything about the restaurant, walked in and we were greeted with a smile and seated right away. The staff was funny, ready to help, ready to make suggestions, professional and courteous, with just a touch of sarcastic humor to make it all fun! The food was just as good as we could have hoped (fyi strip steak is just a NY strip, but was worth the price in my book) and was cooked CORRECTLY! Every visit has been good. Service is great, staff is friendly and food is delicious. I've primarily come for lunch, but have done dinner on occasion. They have a wide selection of food, for most dietary requirements. Often come with vegetarians and they have no issues with substitutions or addressing concerns. They do make some really good fries. They also have a decent drink menu. Worth a visit.

The BEST meal I’ve had in all of Anchorage! You will not be disappointed! We ordered the Fried Brie which was to die for as well as the crab cakes and Filet Mignon. Every single item was cooked to perfection! We finished with the Creme Brûlée and it was incredible! Kinley’s is a hidden Gem in Anchorage & the staff was wonderful!

Every bite is the best you've ever had. The almond crusted halibut is Revelatory! Even the greens are addicting, and that's not easy to do. Service was quick, efficient and upbeat. The actual food sourcing and quality is the best available, and is fresh and local. The way they cook is unique, surprising, and really delicious. The seafood was cooked perfectly. The sauces and flavors were extremely well paired. Subtle but with a satisfactory amount of umami! (Look it up) It's just a whole new level. I'd compare it to the feeling you get after making good love. 👌😋😂 Expect to spend $$$. Worth it!

Drinks and food were delicious and the atmosphere is great. We sat in the bar and had a few drinks and shared some appetizers. The calamari is the best we’ve ever had!! Food was good, but I wouldn’t say it was perfect. Definitely unique, and perhaps my one menu choice wasn’t the best thing available. Loved the French fries though, like compared to other restaurants. Would go again if I were around. The exterior of the building isn’t much to look at, the inside is clean and has a sort of rustic diner feel to it. Staff was friendly and helpful and service was quick. Only complaint would be that the restrooms were poorly lit. (But they were clean too, which is always a plus.)

Amazing food! The Taste was out of this world the presentation was beautiful the Ambiance of the entire place was perfect there were some people there but not overly crowded like you find in some other restaurants and the service was beyond phenomenal. I had a primary server but also had staff checking in on me just enough not so much that they were hovering but enough that I felt secure and not they were paying attention to me. I cannot believe that I have missed out on eating at this place for so many years. This is by far my most favorite Anchorage restaurant ever you really need to come. And Not only was the food amazing but the prices were very reasonable I walked away completely satisfied thank you so much for such a great dining experience

Highly suggest making a reservation first of all. Upon walking in it was busy, but there was a sign up front saying they were unable to seat anymore due to being at capacity. Lucky for me...I had a reservation! This was my first time at Kinleys but won't be my last. From drinks to dessert the everything was exceptionally prompt. To the point where they could actually be a little slower and it would be good! I had the Summer Fling gin drink, stuffed dates, Halibut cheeks & the mocha cake dessert. Basically I looked like violet from Willy Wonka as I had to be rolled out from eating it all.

The food is divine! From carrot hummus to french fries as starters. The 7 year old loved the ooey gooey perfectly toasted cheese sandwich while my mouth was watering over the bacon wrapped dates. I am allergic to dairy. No problem they made substitutions easily. Last to mention is the double pork chop with the blueberry reduction that made me happy I came to Anchorage. Our visit had a purpose but THIS is the destination I will remember.

A quaint restaurant that is a nice change of pace from Outback Steakhouse or TGIFridays. The waitstaff is attentive, but a bit rude/pushy because they tend to bus the table when we are still eating. Not just clearing the dishes that were no longer in use, but taking the dish I was still eating and had not even half way consumed. I would recommend this restaurant for a quick lunch, but not if one is looking for a fine dining experience or wanted to celebrate an anniversary or special event.

Wonderful menu selections prepared deliciously and perfectly. We had duck, pecan encrusted pork chops, Asian BBQ chicken, all cooked to our specifications. Efficient, attentive, friendly service. It can get noisy in the open room setting, but most customers are courteous.

Absolutely love Kinleys. We had the Rockfish and Filet Mignon, so good. The rockfish had a light breading and was perfectly cooked. The coconut sauce was so good and paired with the grilled vegetables, fantastic. My wife said her filet was great. I also highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates! Can't wait to return.

I have had good experiences and poor experiences at Kinley's. My most recent experience (4/15/19) was good. The food is typically top notch, but service is what seems to bring the experience down for me. I have a large family (8+), mostly adults, and when you get that many people together, the service has to be at the top of their game to keep up, and that's where trouble happens. When I have gone with groups of 4 or less, it seems to equalize - the service is better, and the food is great. It is a little upscale, but for Anchorage, I think you could still get away with wearing carhartts.

While some of the food is very expensive, it's all very good,.and even when I try dishes I normally don't prefer, they still taste great. My only real complaint is that many of their non-alcoholic drinks are overpriced in my opinion.

It's a little on the pricey side, but the food is really good and the service is great. They have a lot of good local beer on tap, and foods that go really good with said beer. You can also be a wine-o and get a great steak! If you have some coin to spend on a date, or just feel like going somewhere nice for an evening and getting a little dressed up, this place fits!

Great locally owned restaurant. I have a preference for fine dining places with a smaller number of main courses - I'd rather choose from a few really well made dinners than a bunch of items that the kitchen might only make once in a while. The variety of regular meals and daily specials is wonderful - highly recommend.

Excellent, delicious, and creative food, very good service. This is my first time in Anchorage. Kinley's was recommended to us by another restaurant that we wanted to eat at that was hosting a private party for the evening. I couldn't have been more pleased. I had a caprese salad that I expected to be good,but it was delightful, and then had the salmon entree. It had a blood orange sauce, and risotto stuffed with brie! Delicious!

The service was good, but the food was not. Our appetizers came out quickly, the French Onion Soup was burned and the beet salad had some weird grapefruit flavors. We had ordered the duck and lamb dishes. Both were too salty, and the duck also had weird spices and gummy sweet potato blobs. The lamb was ok if you're into salty (tv dinner level) foods, but nothing special. Sadly, we had to leave the dishes mostly uneaten.

Solid service but mediocre. I heard great reviews and altho the food was decent it was not as everyone has raved. I got the butternut ravioli and my friend got the almond crusted halibut (Which is fried) and another had the Alfredo. None of them were warm except for the brussel sprouts that we're on top of my ravioli. Not even the friend halibut. It was like they were waiting on the Brussels for a solid 5 minutes and didn't have heat lamps? The waitress was good and attentive but I feel like they all lack personability. Not that that's part of the job, but it definitely makes the experience better when they are. I don't think I'd return unless someone else wanted to go.

An excellent experience. We were first timers at Kinley's tonight for our anniversary. Service start to finish was spot on; attentive without being intrusive. The best restaurant-style burger for takeout that I've found in Anchorage! Cooked to desired temp and bun to burger ratio is great. Fries are super crisp (I vent the box on the way home) and the overall quantity is enough for two meals. Definitely recommend Kinley's for takeout.

Soup is like pureed baby food- spicy southwest style. Filet mignon tasted gamey, not much a fan. But, I highly recommend booking a reservation on their Valentines Day. My husband reserved dinner 2 years ago, dinner was marvelous.

Great food and great cocktails. Kinda spendy, but a solid choice for a special occasion or whenever if you don't mind ~$25-40 entrees. Not my first time, but went there for date night last night and with two drinks apiece (I had beer, girlfriend got a delicious chocolate banana mixed drink) and splitting an appetizer (lamb sliders, yum), the total came to $90 pre-tip. Felt worth it.

Came across this place by accident. Was going to the Moose pizza place next door but there was an hour wait. Glad we came next door to Kinley's. Nice place. Much nicer on the inside than you'd expect from the outside. Modern decor with a slight rustic touch. Friendly hostess. Waiter was very knowledgeable. Interesting items on the menu. Had several apps... bacon wrapped dates were good... better if I had noticed the garlic butter at the bottom of the cup. Would also liked to have seen the dates soaked in more garlic butter. Mushroom soup could have been heavier and creamier, so it was my least favorite dish of the evening. A little watery. But the STAR was the calamari steak app. Waiter said it was his favorite, and he was right. It was amazing. Huge steak of calamari sliced up. Tender, with a garlic tomato-like sauce. Just fantastic. Would go back there just to taste this again. The only thing that should be looked at is a timing issue... the fact that our app came out before we even got our initial drink (ordered 2 beers). The place was not even 1/4 full, so not sure why 2 beers too so long. But despite these minor glitches, all in all this should definitely be on your must-visit restaurant list when in Anchorage.

My oldest son and his wife were married here today and had the reception here as well. The food was good ESPECIALLY the filet mignon and the chicken & eggplant. The staff was extremely OUTSTANDING and made sure that EVERYTHING went smoothly and that each course of the meal transitioned smoothly. EVERY person was catered to as if they were a party of one instead of a part of a party of 40. I highly recommend Kinley's to anyone having a function and want that personal touch

We recently went to Kinley's to celebrate our anniversary as we had our wedding reception there and they did not disappoint. Food was great and my husband and I both enjoyed the wine flight. They try to have staff that goes the extra mile and even sent us a georgous dessert with "happy anniversary" written in chocolate on the plate. We have been coming to Kinley's since it opened and our favorites are the bacon wrapped dates, the tuna tacos, any salmon special, and the filet. Best filet in town. The atmosphere is modern and lively in the bar but more reserved in the dining area so perfect no matter how you are feeling althought the dining area can still seem a bit loud when it is busy.

I first decided to give Kinley's a shot when the line at Moose's tooth was too long. Wish I'd discovered it sooner. The lunch menu is tasty and reasonably priced. The coconut crusted rockfish is my go-to and the bacon wrapped dates are a great starter. Best of all, it's centrally located and easy to get a table.

Staying at a nearby hotel, looking for an Alaskan high quality meal and I found it. Started with Ahi Tuna Tacos, the best by far that I've ever had, and thats coming from a Seattlite. Had the King Salmon special, unique with avocado, rice and mushrooms. Very tasty. The waiter made sure my request for wine lived up to my expectations and was friendly and very attentive. He recommended the Salmon and I'm glad he did. This exceeded my expectations. I will return!!

Kinley's has the highest overall quality of operation of any restaurant in Anchorage that I am aware of. It would be difficult to outperform them in total quality. First, there is sufficient front house staff. Unlike many places in ANC, they do not overseat their dining room beyond what they can handle. (Dear tourist, this happens a lot in AK.) There is something for everyone on the menu, including vegetarians. The drink menu is large. The food was fast and visually stunning. Our server, Kevin, was understated, professional, perfect. There is no reason to dine anywhere else in ANC.

Hands down the best wedding caterer in Alaska. Dont even think twice about it. From start to finish, top to bottom, Kinleys went above and beyond. Marty Kimball is a catering and food/event god. The amount of knowledge and skill he has in his field is admirable. He really cares about the details and will not steer you wrong. Dont waste your time with anyone else, these guys seriously do it all. Wedding catering can be your biggest expense and with Kinleys you 1000% get what you pay for and then some. Theres no substitute for expertise in your field, theyre like a well oiled machine. Our wedding was over a month ago and we still have guests raving about how excellent our food, service, and bartending was. Kinleys was kind enough to work with us through a recommendation from LaBoum Events for an off site reception in Palmer AK. They catered our wedding reception on one of the coldest days of the year (in the negatives)and our food was HOT and delicious. Marty was a dream to work with. Before the wedding he helped me with making sure I was purchasing the right supplies for my bar and helped me perfectly craft our menu and timeline, then on the day of I found him getting down and dirty in the kitchen, this guy is not afraid of hard work. The rest of the staff that Kinleys brought to work our event were all very professional and definitely earned their tips. If there is ever another time in my entire life that we will ever need catering I will without a doubt or hesitation call Kinleys. Dont skimp out on the most important day of your life!

I was not impressed with the bar menu. I was seeing great reviews so I was woefully disappointed. If I choose to go again I will make sure to go during lunch or dinner. If the server is drinking then I will likely walk out though.
