On the outside, it appears to be a pretty Americanized Chinese restaurant, but the food here is actually good. Tastes authentic and even though the menu is absolutely enormous, we stuck with a few classic recipes and they tasted great. Would recommend to anyone looking for Chinese food in Anchorage.

Pretty good place for both the kids and grownups in our family. Our favs are juicy pork dumplings, butter squid, and homestyle pork with leeks and jalapenos (🥵🤤🥵). Plus we like the complementary miso and salad.

Best Asian food in Anchorage! For real, we came from LA and have a low expectations on food in Alaska because our priority to enjoy the scenery and the place. Went here after we landed on Thanksgiving night. Surprisingly, they opened and I made a rsvp last minute telling them that we were coming in 1 hour. We ordered bunch of stuff, family style. We ordered what people recommended and what the waitress recommended. Our favorite is the Crunch chicken with chili flakes, we ordered twice for that dish because we really enjoyed it. Mapo tofu was just OK, won't recommend it. The rest was so good! And their Mala pepper / szechuan pepper was legit too because our lips were numb. That's how you know they have a legit spices. We also were seated in a private area. If one day we are coming here to alaska again, I'd definitely come back again!

Always a wonderful experience. Fresh fish, great rolls-love the Pink Lady Roll. Ramens are good. Their shrimp pad Thai is one of the best in Alaska! Lots of options! Also their sushi boats are AMAZING and such a conversation piece if doing an at home event!

The food is amazing: 10/10. Also, the place is very beautiful, you’ll feel in another place. The only thing is that sometimes the service is kind of slow as they don’t have many waiters, but in general is a great restaurant

Sushi is amazing. Very friendly service staff and the robots bringing food to the table was very cool. The entire meal was very very good. This is my 3rd time there. Make sure you go in the correct door. Jimmy's is door on left. Door on right is a completely different resteraurant. I will go there again.

Don't let the name Jimmy's fool you. It's delicious. Our waitress was awesome. My daughter liked her hello kitty pen. She told us where she got it. We went there after. The sushi is amazing!

I love Jimmys so much I invited friends to meet for lunch. As I pulled up, they were standing outside in the parking lot looking at the outside of the bldg. They thought Jimmys was a little "hole-in-the-wall" until we stepped inside. The outside of your bldg doesn't reflect your indoor decor which is beautiful, calm and relaxing. May I make a suggestion? Spruce up the landscaping and some painting would help. You rec'd raves about your food from my friend. Keep up the great business!!!

At the moment they are accepting both dine in and take away customers, and my order was ready within the estimated time. It was very easy to order over the phone and pick up, both my Chinese and Japanese meals were authentic tasting and still hot. I’ve been looking for a local place that sells mapo tofu and am happy to say I found one. The wontons in chili oil were really good as well, the taste of the spices were prominent, especially the anise.

As a Seattle area resident I would expect Anchorage to have better sushi due to its proximity to the ocean. The quality of the fish is good but not dramatically better. The prices are fair (everything is a little bit more $$ due to shipping costs etc). Spider and Spicy Tuna rolls will set you back $10. The Monster roll cost $14. The staff is friendly and the sushi chef does a very good job. The place looks clean. I downgrade it by one star due to its strip mall location next to an all you can eat Chinese place that doesn't look to good. Otherwise enjoy your visit.

Our waitress was so sweet and helpful! We ordered edamame and salmon and unagi sushi and both came quickly and were so delicious! However, we waited a very long time for the rest of our order only to be disappointed by what looked like frozen,heated up dumplings. Would go back there for the sushi, not the dim sum

Good price for its quality. The Chinese food is authentic in good portion size. We love spicy chicken, three cup chicken, spicy pork with pepper, pickled fish. However, we will not recommended roasted duck though.

As I walked in I was definitely a little hesitant. The food though definitely surprised me. Quality sushi, good Tom Yum, and the juicy pork dumplings ended up basically being soup dumplings! The food was a little slow to come out, but over all worth the wait. I will definitely visit again. Must check out if you're in ANC

My favorite restaurant in town! I’ve never had anything here that I didn’t like. The sushi rolls are high quality and without question the most affordable in Anchorage. I love the authentic Chinese cuisine: especially the vinegared potatoes, dan dan noodles, and the hot pot. Whether you get takeout or dine in, it’s always a five-star experience.

I have been to almost all of the sushi places in Anchorage. I went out for a lunch meeting today and Jimmy's has the best sushi and Chinese food that I have ever had the pleasure of putting in my mouth. S+ rank, would devour their food again.

I've only visited this place once, so I can't give a thorough review, but it was excellent. As you'd expect, the sushi is made with extremely fresh seafood. I'll never forget the roll generously topped with rich, creamy, and flavorful lobster tail. The menu is filled with delicious-looking chef's specials that I'd come back to try (if I lived in Anchorage). Do me a favor, and try trem for me if you're anywhere near Jimmy's Sushi!

It's a hidden gem. The food was good and the staff was nice and despite being very busy with doordash orders, the food came out fairly quickly. I am on a liquid only fast and they were very accommodating and willingly helped me find something on the menu. I do recommend this restaurant.

Was pretty good. My major complaint was the mapo tofu was so full of pepper(not spicy but peppercorn or black pepper) that my tongue started to tingle with numbness. Other than that the dumplings were good and the sushi was good.

Clean and well decorated. Don’t let the connected building throw you off of the nice decor inside and outside of this restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed a lunch Bento Box She had yellow chicken curry and I ate General Tso chicken. Both were EXCELLENT as was our Hawaiian waitress. Being from NC we’re use to sweet tea but the Thai tea was a delicious replacement with a strong tea flavor. I’ll admit I added sugar but my wife, more of a Thai tea drinker, enjoyed it as is.

Don't judge a book by its cover. This place is awesome. We were going to go somewhere else, but so glad we came here. Sushi was well priced and portions were good. Try the steamed dumplings

Really good food- we tried the juicy pork dumplings, double cooked pork, and the tonkatsu ramen. The dumplings are reminiscent of xiao long bao but with less soup and a thicker skin- really nice. The double cooked pork is spicy and full of leeks and fermented black beans. The tonkatsu ramen is really nice- the eggs are not jammy but they are soaked in a very flavorful sauce.

Best and most authentic Chinese food in town. Their Dan Dan noodle is amazingly good with the authentic chewy texture. We were in Alaska for 8 days so far and we already ate 4 meals there even as we travel out of Anchorage and around Kenai peninsula. We are definitely coming back for more before we head over to Denali.

If you love sushi, then you need to eat here! Seated quickly. Friendly helpful staff. Clean table, menu and bathroom. The menu was put together smartly and I appreciate that as a new customer. Sushi here is hands down the best I have had in Anchorage. The rice is perfect!

Best orange chicken I’ve ever had, boyfriend didn’t like the Mongolian beef but the chicken is SO good. If you’re picking up they don’t put the sauce on the chicken so it’s not soggy. Highly recommend!

I have been a customer of Jimmy specifically( for me it's about the chef not location/restaurant in his case). I have followed Jimmy throughout the years to at least 3 locations. I am SO HAPPY he has his own restaurant here in town "Jimmy's". The restaurant is comfy with great decor. His staff take care of the customer and go out of their way to address any complaints right away. My recent issue was just a missing sauce I requested when ordering online(again, NEVER issue with food quality & taste).Daniel not only called me but texted to be sure I knew they would be sure to address my issue(which was very minor). Jimmy's serves only the freshest fish/seafood at very reasonable prices, creates some of the best unique sauces and offers a wide variety of other traditional Japanese cuisine *****5 STARS

The food is fresh, generous portions and friendly staff. I've flown around the world and by far Jimmy's is still my favorite restaurant. Absolutely love this place and so does my son and his family. April 14. One person was not wearing his mask while I was there. He was going in and out of the kitchen and finally was manning the register. I heard the other staff referring to him as Jimmy. Wait staff were pleasant. Food was average. Prices in anchorage is generally higher than other places in the states.

Been here twice now. Very nice portions for the lunch and dinner box. Well priced. All sushi prepared very well. Rice is cooked well. A surprising amount of options that are other than sushi for non sushi guys.

Best sushi in town! Great menu, but Jimmy will make whatever you want that's not on the menu. He has a knack for sushi creation. If you're not into sushi, there is a tasty menu of Chinese and Thai entrees. Good selection of beers, wines, and sakis. Large sushi bar. Remodeled building, very clean and nice looking with large private dining room. Jimmy is a hospitable host and his staff are excellent servers. Friendly, relaxed atmosphere. Don't let the former business reputation discourage a visit to Jimmy's; you'll enjoy it!

First meal in Alaska after an 8-hour plane ride. This place was located in a strip mall that looked run down. A China Buffet was right next to it... inside was clean and spacious. I had a fried rice and it was actually quite tasty. Service was fast and friendly.

Go for the sushi, but that's about all you go for. I went on two occasions. The first was strictly sushi. It was awesome! Melt in your mouth fresh and really good flavor. If i didn't go back I would have given it five stars. However, I went the next day because I was trying to find a really good ramen place in Anchorage and figured this would be the place since the sushi was so good. It was bland and lacked flavor. My initial inclination was to give the establishment three stars as an average between my two visits. The only reason I'm going with four is because the server asked me how the ramen was and I told her it was bland. It has no flavor in the broth, the noodles, or even the pork in it. There is really nothing to the soup at all. There are hardly any "toppings" in the ramen either. Beyond that, the serving size compared to other ramen places I have gone was extremely small in comparison. The server was really good about trying to make things right, but even the second attempt was bland and she says it's just their broth and ramen. So if that's the way it is, I won't be trying it again. Side note - I got the pork Tonkatsu ramen Stick with the sushi and you'll be fine. Don't try the ramen because this place is definitely not a ramen house. Still searching for an awesome ramen house in Anchorage.

We have loved Jimmy's since getting back from Korea and Japan, while he was still out off of Dimond. The Eagle River location is closer to us and an absolute favorite for our family meals out. We chose to get our lunch to go for a family day out and the new Tudor location is absolutely amazing to see! The food, as always, was AMAZING! Our personal favorites are the Kiss of Fire roll, Black Jack roll, Alaska Roll with Avocado instead of cucumber and the stuffed mushrooms appetizer.

My dining experience at the Jimmy's Sushi Restaurant in Anchorage is 2 stars below the quality of Jimmy's Sushi in Eagle River. In Eagle River the sushi, sashimi and miso soup our excellent and the atmosphere is calm and pleasant; it makes you want to linger and enjoy the meal. In Anchorage, the sushi, sashimi and miso were average and the atmosphere of loud pop radio mixed with sports TV noise made me want to eat and leave; I won't be going back. But I will be driving the extra 10 miles to Jimmy's Sushi in Eagle which is the best in Alaska so far in my experience.
