Good food, great place, great atmosphere. They don't do reservations, first come, first serve. The drinks are good, and the food is great. I've been here twice and haven't had a bad experience yet. It does get busy on the weekends, so make sure you get here early. It's an open kitchen, so you can see your food being made (depending on where you're sitting). Not that fancy of a place. This means you'll see people wearing nice clothing, but the next table is wearing AK Tuff and jeans.

We had a late dinner here after arriving at the Captain Cook Hotel. Even though it was quite busy, our party was seated right away. Our server was a great guy who was courteous and friendly. We ordered the Chicken Noodle Soup, Spaghetti with Meatballs, and the Rueben Sandwich. Soups were flavorful, hot, and full of vegetables and chicken. The Rueben was huge and full of flavor. We were so full after the meal, we couldn't even imagine dessert. Great place with a comfortable atmosphere!

A great fine dining experience. The halibut on the menu was pretty bland but the halibut special they had was delicious. My friends loved the oysters as well. Would highly recommend.

Listed as an Italian restaurant, but has an English Pub/Bar feel to it. Most of the patrons are possibly from the hotel so it's really busy during peak summer season. Come early for dinner because seats fill up fast. There are some nice beers on tap. Ordered the grilled ribeye, which was done medium-rare perfectly. It was juicy, great tasting with a slight char, and had the right balance of fats to give it that umami. Only fault I could find was it was a tad salty, but not over-whelmingly so. The sides of broccoli and truffle mushroom risotto was done nicely too. Couldn't resist dessert and had a mud pie. Enjoyed that as well. Overall a great place to have a nice meal and drinks, prices are reasonable. Service is prompt.

We went here for a late lunch, and ended up having the best seafood chowder we’ve had in Anchorage. We came back two other times for the seafood chowder, but keep in mind that they get pretty busy during peak dinner hours so try to come earlier or a little after to avoid waiting a long time for a table.

Our server was very friendly and gave good recommendations on food/drinks. We arrived near closing time/late in evening and the place was packed on Thursday night. Hostess was not very friendly and the table we were sat at had not been cleaned. When we asked for it to be wiped down she rolled her eyes and said "it's the table" not dirt. The check and garbage was on there when we sat down so it was obvious it had not been cleaned. Aside from that, the rest of the time was well. The food was hit and miss. The chowder was delicious. The fish n' chips was a bit dry and disappointing. The cocktails were great. Overall, 3.75 stars for this experience but I'd be willing to try them again.

Great option for my last and rainy day in Anchorage - entrance is inside the hotel. I had the soup of the day (gumbo) that was delish, spaghetti meatballs on point and the creme brulee. My server was also nice, attentive and friendly.

If you're staying at the Captain Cook, it's a perfect spot if you don't feel like putting on your cold weather gear. Food and drinks are awesome!

This place probably is the only restaurant open that late around. It is open until midnight at Saturday, which is amazing for a lot of people who arrive from a late night flight. The foods here are pretty delicious. We loved the pizzas we ordered which are artichoke pizza and Sicilian pizza. The beef stroganoff is good, the chop salad is good. And the dessert we got - The PB pie is super yummy! We also enjoyed their complimentary rye breads, warm, soft and tasty. This bar also serves nice professional cocktails. It is a place worthy to check out.

Food was really good. Halibut was a little dense but still very tasty. Our server Christopher (batman mask was awesome BTW) was so helpful and friendly and new the menu very well. My wife has Celiac disease and made she she could enjoy a nice meal and not get sick. Somebody promote this man

The waiter was excellent and the food was wonderful! However, the hostess was completely inflexible, insisting on her “system” over seating our larger group in the same area of the restaurant - even though we were ok with separate tables. The management also refused seating to one of our party because they committed the mortal sin of bringing in a ginger ale.

This was probably the best dinner we had in all of Alaska. We ended up here by accident. All of the places we had tried to go have very long waits. We were kind of bummed to try out a restaurant that was in a hotel at first. But it was worth it! Amazing atmosphere and great drinks and food. We were also shocked on how inexpensive it was.

We just finished having drinks at the Crows Nest and decided on dinner at Fletchers because we were told the pizza is amazing. And while the rumors were true, the food was good, what was remarkable was Fletcher’s team. The hostess and kitchen staff were wonderful, but our server (Christopher) was just incredible. I watched this man balance multiple drinks on the palm of his hand, dancing through the restaurant with ease. He also overheard me ask my table a casual question about the menu and immediately spit out an answer while walking by. He also had perfect timing when serving us, great recommendations, and was a fun server to have. My friends and I will be coming back to Fletchers in hopes of having this guy as our waiter!

Nice quick bite. Quality fried chicken sandwich. French fries were fresh cut, and seasoned to perfection. Oddly, food was a little cool when it came. I can't figure that out. Odd.

I love this place for the most part.However I recently ordered the same exact dish and the portion was significantly smaller....I was still so hungry after I ate it. The halibut sandwich is pretty good as well. Blackened halibut tacos should be advertised as an appetizer as it was very small as well. They are also on the salter side. Overall I liked them I wish there were more!!!!

Hands down, the best fish and chips, overall, ever. Missing was some mushy peas or coleslaw. Extra lemons and tartar were both fresh. Some of the chips were stuck together and perhaps a bit under cooked. Definitely eat here again.

If you're looking for a small plate or a full dinner then Fletcher's has your order. Fletcher's has plenty of seating and a small bar. You won't find loud music here, so you'll hear everyone at the table with ease. This isn't exactly a sports bar, so if you want to watch the game then sit close to the bar. Food good but long waits... Worst yet is no place to sit and wait for your name to be called. The wait each time was about an hour. They desperately need to provide seating closer to the restaurant. The closest seating is too far to hear a name called.

Fletcher's is a one-of-a-kind experience. Over several years, it has become one of my favorite eateries. The beef stroganoff is the best I have ever eaten in my life and the chop salad is unparalleled to any other I've had. You cannot go wrong with any food item here. The experienced bartenders make thee most delicious and sophisticated cocktails. Highly recommend!

Food is delicious, fish is fresh (we tried halibut), desserts are lovely (we tried their key lime pie & crème brulee). There was always a waiting line at the restaurant, so we got a to-go both times we went. Took them about 25 min to make it. The place is understaffed (possibly a covid aftermath... or the fact that there aren't that many truly good restaurants in the downtown area), so be prepared to wait. Over all, good experience. Isabella at the hostess desk was very nice.

Had 5 Oysters with 1 oyster Rockefeller and the bison meatballs. All in all over $50 and you only get 3 meatballs. The aesthetics are amazing and the customer service was top notch but a bit pricey with the portions. Everything was delicious though so just chock it up to the Alaska tax and know your going to pay for this tasty food.

The bartenders and servers at Fletcher's were so great. I really enjoyed going there for drinks and shared meals with my wife. We were never super hungry so we always ordered and split. I had many good beers from the tap. I also had the scallop meal one night and the fish and chips for lunch. The food was great to go along with the great atmosphere. Try to sit at the bar if you can!

Really enjoyed our dinner here, Loved the Drinks Felecther'ita and the lemon drop were delish and made me want to come back for more. I also enjoyed the fletcher's burger well made and even a little burnt on the side which was a nice touch. came just before closing so I didn't expect much from the food but was very impressed. Our waiter was hot on his feet and friendly. well done fletcher crew and chefs!

I've lived in Anchorage all my life and never eaten here. For a restaurant to last 20+ years is impressive nowadays and the food was really good. I had pasta with cream gorgonzola sauce and my husband had the halibut tacos, both were delicious. They handled COVID restrictions well and were so polite.

I bought the Mothers day special they offered. This was an exceptional meal. The food was great and included everything needed to make this very special. Really appreciated the support they provided with pickup as well. As an aside, the coking time of the roast was a bit different (near 4 hours vs 2ish provided) than the instructions provided, but that was OK and didn't affect us..

I’ve frequented Fletchers bar for over a dozen years. Chris is a legend. Their food has always been fresh, generous, fairly priced, tasty and not disappointing. Great selection or local beers and wines. They have signature mixed drinks too. I recommend their chopped salad with blackened salmon; the fish and chips and the burgers. All great!!!

The sign at the entrance said to wait to be seated and we had to wait forever for someone to come over and seat us or acknowledge us, but things got better once we were approached and seated. Our server was very curtious and efficient and the food was good and served quickly. Note to management: don't ignore customers coming in - greet and acknowledge them for God's sake.

We had the seafood chowder. Best I have had. Chocked full of seafood in every bite. Also had the halibut and chips. Tender chunks of halibut and tons of nicely seasoned chips with just the right crispness. Topped off with a Kodiak Nut Brown Ale made for an enjoyable dining experience. Beautiful decorum, excellent wait staff along with decadent dishes and drinks make Fletcher's one of the best upscale eateries in town! The whiskey collection is admirable and enough can't be said about the Artichoke Salmon Dip! The pizza is also highly recommended coupled with a great choice of cold, local draft beers. The cognac selection is definitely wanting in a place that screams "old-school classy", but is a small gripe among all other stellar qualities. Best enjoyed in the off-season when the Cook is empty of tourists or late at night after all the old-folks have turned in for the evening. Highly recommended for any occasion!

It's labeled Italian, but the many fresh Alaska seafood choices were the main focus for our group of 6. Lentil soup with reindeer meat was superb! It's not a big place and it can get crowded, but they fit us in quickly.

I have visited many times. Every time is spectacular. The food quality and service are far above Anchorage standards. Lots of wood and leather interior; shaken martinis at table. Fletchers is small and adequately staffed. They have not made the mistake of places like Orsos and Glacier Brewhouse and many other tourist restaurants who seat far more tables than they can service. My last visit was 6/20/19 for early dinner--5 star.

For Anchorage, the prices are very reasonable. The steak sandwich is divine and the fettuccine is fantastic. First thing I order when I check into the Hotel Captain Cook. Wait staff is really good. Daytime bartender awesome. The late bartender soso.

Appetizers and food here is always on point! It's located in the Captain Cook Hotel on the first floor the fifth Avenue side entrance. They have a good bar with good service here also. A solid place to eat and drink in Anchorage, Alaska.

It was a freezing Thanksgiving night with not a Chinese restaurant open in sight. After 25 calls to various restaurants Fletchers was the only one with a booth for us to fall. I am not a turkey fan and am not excited by self-inducing a Tryptophan coma, so when I saw that a place with Pizza and seafood with a great bar was open, we slid on the sheets of ice covering downtown Anchorage all the way. Kind of disappointed in Anchorage for not having more options for eating out on Thanksgiving, but it's my on fault for not booking ahead. Regardless the food and staff at Fletcher's was more than excellent in a pinch. The ambiance was stormy and full of a rich mahogany, very oceanic. For an appetizer I had a huge Martini, with gin & a twist, perfectly stirred, and served like a proper Martini should be, clear. So big I had that for dessert too. We jumped at the Mediterranean Seafood Salad (salmon, halibut & shrimp with English cucumbers, sundried tomatoes, red onions, mushrooms, Kalamata olives, pine nuts & feta cheese with a red wine vinaigrette) and the Grilled Halibut with Spinach Risotto. Finished off with the creme brulee, which was passable. Overall very decent.
