Ordered through Uber Eats - order was delivered quickly. Food was great - fantastic portion size - more than enough food! I ordered the salmon Bento box my 1st time - salmon was a little overcooked but still tasty. Vegetable tempura was very tasty and sushi was so fresh. Came back through town and didn't hestitate to order from Dami again. Ordered through Uber Eats again and Chicken Teriyaki Bento box was prepared/delivered quickly and was just as tasty as other Bento box. Great place!!!

The place is very nice, although people get confused with the main entrance. The menu is not huge but it's got a good amount of options. The pond in the center with the koy fish add a nice natural feel to it. The prices aren't bad and the service was great. It's a little dark in there however it adds a gentle atmosphere. Our meal was a little more spendy seeing we got the Chicken Teriyaki Bento box at $28. But a lot of other things were less spendy and looked quite good.

Ordered the Godzilla Roll and it was big and tasty! They even give you a small bowl of miso soup and salad beforehand and a green tea cookie for dessert! Had plenty to eat for a great price...

Looking for a late night meal after snowboarding all day and wanting to be away from the main part of downtown, this place did it. Great choice I usually look over the bad and not-so bad reviews to see what was the worst day some of someone's pathetic life that compelled them to trash the hard work of building-up a respectable business. I found some pretty bold claims, none phased me. So I faced the -5℉ temps and went for a walk from my hotel to dine with my son. At 9pm on a weekend night, the place was empty. This usually is a really bad sign. Still willing to run the risk, we moved up to the host, equally as warm and fuzzy as the weather outside. As we went to our table walking by the sushi bar, it looked as if they had checked out. Station cleaned, fish wrapped in plastic, no chefs at the ready. Now I’m worried. Looking over the leignthly menu we decided 3 rolls to share and Agedashi tofu. Almost immediately we were served Miso and a small salad. Still no pleasantries from the host/server but by now it doesn't matter. The chef appeared, sushi was made to order and delivered shortly after. Very fresh, very good and not breaking the bank. I guess the Miso, salad and dessert was included. We couldn't find any mention of a meal set. Funniest part of the meal was, after we finished the main course our expressionless and generally unimpressed server cracked and said, “are you ready for your Oreos”. Not knowing what to expect we both answered “ummmm, ok?” Minutes later two, hot out of the oil, tempura deep fried Oreos under a Denali sized frop of whipping cream drizzled with chocolate running out like an avalanche in May was set down between us. These are not at all like the county fair versions, insanely better. GET Them! The restaurant was clean, nice and efficient. Upon leaving we ordered some rolls to-go for others who did not want to bare the elements, it was prepped quickly and with grace. Very unassuming for a place seemingly to be attached to an Econo Lodge Motel. Don't be scared off, this place is great !

We only did takeout and waited for the order (around 2:30p). Food was fine - tempura lunch, teriyaki bento boxes, and veggie yakisoba - in line with what you can expect from a typical neighborhood mixed Asian food place. Order was done pretty quickly. Fun koi pond for the kids btw!

Delicious food, great service, and a beautiful environment!! Seriously the best sushi I've ever had. Highly recommend the viper roll. Dami is a must visit every time we're in Anchorage. Food and service are always great. While the outside seems unusual, the inside of the restaurant is beautiful and comfortable.

The all day Bento Box Deal is really worth it at $20. It includes a main choice of fish or meat, tempura, and 1 of their many great sushi rolls! The service has been great every time I go and the complimentary fried Oreo at the end is a great way to end your meal!

The Bento box set here is quite big and yummy at about $22 to $24. Don't bother about the tasteless $3 green tea. Complimentary tempura Oreo cookie will be served after your meal.

Great food. Very inexpensive lunch - which I never say about alaska. I'm stuffed for under $15 - teriyaki steak, soup, salad, rice, tempura, & oreo dessert!!!! Cute decor- loved the huge fish pond in the middle. Server was quick, anticipated my needs, polite, and friendly.

The Food: I love sushi in this place was exactly what I needed. It had a great selection to choose from. The service: good, not really memorable. The Price: This is where Dami shines. If this place is probably the most affordable sushi place in Anchorage without sacrificing quality. Reccomend for: 1st dates ( It's memorable because it's hidden inside a hotel and it feels like a hidden gem), 2 dates ( It's got a very laid back atmosphere which is very good for self disclosure and getting to know one another); satisfying cravings for sushi and other related food types on a budget.

I have been spending the summer traveling to Anchorage for work from the lower 48 and had a friend recommend Dami. I decided to try it out for lunch one day and couldn't have been happier. The service was excellent and the food was amazing. I had the salmon bento box and a dragon roll sushi and it was perfect. I went at 12pm when they opened and it was quiet at that time but the atmosphere is nice and it was clean. I'm definitely looking forward to going back when I'm in Anchorage.

Excellent food, however the parking is very minimal in the front (two spots), and the back parking lot always has vagrants around, as well as a lot of garbage. So if you're ok with leaving your vehicle out of sight while you eat and walking around sometimes a dozen not-to-friendly looking folks, then you'll enjoy Dami. I'm disappointed in the trash and the company the area attracts, I would like to eat there more often.

This place is fantastic! The service was quick and our rolls were delicious. I had the Ninza roll for the 1st time and it's now my absolute favorite roll I've ever had! We ordered sushi rolls and didn't even realize that salad and miso soup were included before the rolls came and fried oreos came at the end - what a nice surprise! My husband and I were in Anchorage for 3 nights. We ate at Dami on the first night and loved it so much we came back on our 3rd night to enjoy it one more time before leaving town. I highly recommend Dami!

Hands down my favorite sushi spot! I have been to almost every sushi spot in town over the last 15 yrs, this one hits all the right Mark's. Lots of great options even for those not loving sushi! Nice interior, clean bathrooms, decent service.

Love this place! It looks kinda sketchy from the outside, but the atmosphere inside and the servers are great! We were from out of town, and a local recommended it for good sushi. It was delicious! We came back twice! I got the lunch special box. It was a good serving size. Also, the fried oreos for dessert! Mmmmmm!

Love this place! This is where I met my husband in 2017. We now come here nearly once a month. I mostly get the choice box special because it comes with a roll of your choice. My pick is the short ribs and Godzilla roll combo. The sushi bar Chef is very kinda and awesome with his artistic sushi. Always a good time and they have fried oreos! ❤️

Absolutely gorgeous restaurant. The staff was very friendly. They had a sushi bar up from to sit at or booths and tables. We sat at a booth, the server was very friendly and once we placed our order the food didnt take long and it was absolutely amazing. They even brought free deep fried oreos that were delicious!

It's ok. It's not the best customer service. The food is ok . I cook better than them. Not good place to bring very old or infant's to this place. Why??? Lots homeless people and I even seen crime being committed when I was going to the restaurant. It's a 2 not 3.

I'll preface this review with the fact that I've only been once, but this is definitely a place worth checking out. I brought a large group in (10 plus) for a birthday party, and was definitely impressed by the quality of food and service. They happily accommodated our large group in a lovely back room. The servers were kind and attentive, even as people wandered in well after our scheduled reservation. Despite the large group, everyone got their food quickly and no one ever went long without a drink refill. The food was fantastic, too, and reasonably priced. Everyone went home very, very happy. I'll definitely be going back.

This restaurant is pretty contemporary, a bit dark inside, and overall a modest eatery. Calm atmosphere and the servers were friendly and attentive for the most part. The food was moderately priced and tasted fresh that's a plus for a Japanese restaurant. I do recommend coming here for a small bite or a lite lunch. I wouldn't mind visiting here again when I come back to Anchorage again.

Great food but i do recommend having someone work the phone who is a little more customer friendly. I ordered 2 simple meals and wanted to add side soup and salad to them and we were going back and forth for several minutes because she did not understand i wanted to add two sides of soup and salad to my meal. She told me after she took my CC info if i wanted salad with my meal and its an extra charge. . . I told her i thought i had already stated that and that is what we were talking about. I told her that she took my card information and told me the total already so if that total did not include the side salads i had previously talked about that i didn't want to confuse the situation any more and to not add it. The lady seemed upset and i am probably sure she was but it was due to communication and language barriers. Food is amazing like always.

This was a pleasant surprise. I am from the San Francisco Bay area, so my standards for sushi are on the high side. After reading several reviews I thought I would give it a try. To be honest, the location threw me off, in a motel? Really? My expectations were low, but I could walk from the Sheraton where my company puts us up when in town for work. The reality: the place is just right inside. Nice but comfortable. The Sushi chef, Joseph was the nicest guy, he really was enjoyable to hang out with at the sushi bar. There were three singles at the bar, and he was interesting to all of us. I went 'omakasi' (chefs choice) for my nigiri and a roll. He asked if I wanted small or large rice. I did not really understand the question. I chose large, his recommendation was small. He was right. The fish was fresh and small would have let me to taste it a bit more (plus I got really full) Anyway, this is now my go-to sushi place in Anchorage. Enjoy.

Excellent!! I ordered the halibut box and it came with a roll of my choice. I had the dragon roll and it was outstanding prep and super fresh. The tempura shrimp and veggies was so delicious. At the end they brought me a tempure oreo. I can't wait to come back.

For me the most disappointing part is the sushi. All of the times I've been here the rice isn't seasoned at all so it makes the whole fish taste plain. The service is also okay, when they are busy they won't give responses and check on you at all. The rolls and the bento boxes are pretty good.

Been coming here for 10+ years. Sushi makers come and go. The new one that started 2 months ago is sooooo rude. I try not to make it there when he is working but ot seems as if he is always there. I hope the owner talks to him about not being so rude. The sushi is good, that is why i eat here. But no food taste good with an attitude.

Good choice for Japanese fare like sushi, tempura and teriyaki. Excellent food and fresh! Service was good. Inside is very nice, even if outside looks a little strange. Good value too. Prices are reasonable. Overall, a solid 4 star place... Or maybe 4.5 to 5 here in Anchorage.

This restaurant seems out of place. It's in a rather seedy part of town, but is definitely a gem amongst rocks. The decour is very elogeant with somber though adequate lighting. A great place for either a date or a business meeting was my initial thought. The hostess was very pleasant and was sensitive to the customer's needs. Without making me feel ill at ease, she asked if I felt okay with chop sticks or prefered silverware. I also accepted her reccommendations on what to select. I had the teriyaki chicken platter which came with shrimp tempura and your choice of sushi rolls. Everything was deliscious. The Dami also has a full bar. I went early in the evening on a Tuesday and there was only one other customer. I can't speak as to how crowded they may get say on a Friday or Saturday night. Prices were really ressonable and I would highly reccommend this place.

All the flavors of the food were on point. The only thing that I have a discrepancy with was the rice. Maybe it was the pot they cooked it in. Maybe it was the water that they used. Beautiful restaurant beautiful food presentation like I said, the only thing I had issues with is the rice.

The $20 bento boxes all day were delicious. The fact that you can pick one of the many rolls from the menu for the box is great. I had the Viper roll and loved it. Overall it was a wonderful visit.

Great place, get over the location and eat here! Rolls are super tasty, quick and reasonably priced. The only thing I would change is the scallops were breaded instead of tempura. Still tasty but would have been better tempura'd in my opinion.

Delightful food, nice decor. Viper roll and gyoza are outstanding. The only thing keeping this from a 5 star rating is its location within the Econo lodge and some of the characters that hang out in the back parking lot.

So far the best place for sushi in alaska that I've found. The location make parking a bit difficult and the area of town is a bit shady, but the service is pretty good and the food is a lot better than a store bought counterpart.

Been to every Asian restaurant (Chinese/Japanese/Thai/Mongolian/etc...) down here in San Antonio Texas, this place was unbelievably delicious. My aunt, who lives in Alaska, said to try this place and now I want to fly back to Alaska just to eat there again!!! Please come to Texas!

The food is always good tmand the servers are very nice. The only down side to this place is where it is. The econo inn has some attracts a certain kind of person and I can only get asked for money so many times so dont leave anything in you car when you go here.

The chef knows the basics and is inventive. There is an attempt to do something interesting. When it works it is amazing, when it doesn't it is fine. Only had one meal, but will be back. My point of reference is new york and San Francisco.
