The only place I've found in anchorage that has the red sweet an sour sauce and doesn't mix a bunch of vegetables in with the fried chicken. The general tso chicken is the best around also. Wish they had honey walnut shrimp.

Loved this restaurant! As a southern Californian, I'm used to very good authentic Chinese food. This is much different than your standard chinese restaurant in a non asian community. This restuarant offers food that most non chinese would've never heard of but chinese knows and expects from authentic chinese restaurants. The prices are very fair considering we are in Alaska and the store is clean and aesthetically pleasing. The food seems to be northern chinese cuisine as shown by the duck in the picture and due to the fact that the waiters and owners of the restaurant seem to have a thick Northern accent

Just got our kung pao chicken, and cashew chicken and sesame chicken. Love the cashew chicken and now I’m a big fan of the kung pao! Wish there chili oil was spicy ! Food is always fresh and The food doesn’t taste like left overs from yesterday like some Chinese places. I can only speak for the cashew chicken and kung pao. The sesame chicken wasn’t my favorite it was ok and didn’t have a crunch. Will be back for more kung pao..

Heven Demo (Hevendemo)

Honestly this was so good I was already thinking of what to order the firs time going there. I had the Mapo Tofu and scallion pancakes, brought a friend along to try it with me. They got the pork strips with szechuan sauce. I rarely ever give 5 star reviews as you can see, from my reviews, and this place deserves it. One of the only places in Anchorage people can get AUTHENTIC chinese food, and it having an American-Chinese menu for those who are not too familiar with it. Also I must say the decor is 👌 very 👌 nice 👌 The scallion pancake was flakey and it tasted so amazing. Mapo tofu was also really good, savory, sour, a hint of spice (I like spicey food I would have liked it spicier tbh but it was really good.) A hint of sweetness. I actually had leftover and that tasted EVEN BETTER the next day, which is a good sign on how well seasoned the food is. Used the mapo sauce with the flakey scallion pancake and pure bliss. Also the food comes with a big serving of rice, it may look expensive but the amount you get is worth it. Bring a friend to share with!

Their Szechwan Chicken = Kotzebue Uutuku Hot and Spicy chicken. Ask for it to be extra spicy and it’s a damn near clone. Ordered pickup and it was ready in 15mins. Will be coming back here again.

I had really high hopes. We ordered egg rolls, General Tsaos, Kung Pao chicken and sweet n sour chicken. I judged a place like this heavily on the egg rolls. And these weren't egg rolls they were spring rolls. Big no no. The general tsaos was great, sweet n sour pretty good, and the Kung Pao not great. We did carry out so no comment on the service but the place looked nice.

Awesome tasty food! Tried the salt and pepper shrimp and General Tso's chicken with vegetable lo mein. Everything was perfect for taste, texture, sauce, brought me back to my childhood filled with Chinese food. Best Chinese I had have so far in Anchorage. Thought servings and pricing was reasonable. Door dash delivery was really quick and arrived hot and fresh.

The food is pretty good. But the lady on the phone answered by just saying “hello” and didn’t seem to know what anything I was ordering was, left me wondering if I called the wrong number. The “crab cheese wontons” (crab Rangoons?) are… strange. Tastes mustard like? Not sure what’s in them but definitely not cream cheese and crab.

Great authentic mainland Chinese place. I've visited China and wish I could have the same food as I found over there, which is very different than traditional American joints. This place does have American Chinese food, but they have two menus, one is mainland food and the other American Chinese. Be adventurous, try the la zi ji ding and the pork green beans. You will not be disappointed!

The food arrives as it's pictured in the photos. Also I noticed that everything we ordered had a lot of flavor. If it was supposed to be spicy it was and if it was supposed to be sweet it was. The fried rice was on point with all the best places I've had Chinese food. 5 star and we'll definitely be a repeat customer.

The best Chinese food in all Alaska. Pro-tip: Order from the Chinese menu and not the Chinese-American menu. The Chinese menu is authentic and some of the best food I’ve had outside of China. I challenge you to widen your Chinese food horizons! They provide food service to the Chinese air cargo crews which speaks volumes since food quality and taste is paramount in Chinese dining culture. Shredded Pork in Special Peking Sauce is my personal favorite. Everything else I’ve tried has been has been outstanding. Don’t overlook the veggie dishes too; they compliment the protein entrees and enhance the whole meal experience. Also, they are willing to work with food allergies as much as possible. A family member of mine is allergic to garlic and they made all the food without garlic when we requested it. And they give plenty of white rice with every entree.

Best Chinese in Alaska and definitely one of my most favorite Chinese restaurant of all time. I try to find a substitute for it once moving to the lower 48's, and only a few come to its level. Plus the price is very good for the serving size you get. You'll definitely have leftovers. If you eat in the restaurant you'll need a to go box.

Returned after 17 years and was devastated that the ownership had changed, but still had a delicious meal and great experience. Not as good as it used to be, but still really good food! Excellent food actually, just not what we hoped to find on our walk through memory lane... Still one of the best meals we had while in Alaska.

I know Anchorage isn't known for its food, but I've had better chinese food in the small town i grew up in with 2000 people in it. The sweet n sour chicken i got wasnt very flavorful and was soft, like it was microwaved. Maybe next time.

Order off the Chinese menu, not the American menu, I do not recommended this place for the fried rice and kung po chicken dishes. But the authentic Chinese menu is filled with an amazing array of things you can't get anywhere else. Like the pan fried dumplings! Incredible! So soft and delicious. Everything we ate was fantastic and I highly recommend the Spicy Beef Soup (very spicy) and bean curd with pork. This place provides a great way to introduce yourself to more traditional Chinese food. Highly recommend!

I ordered on door dash an hour before closing. I got my food quickly and still hot. Everything was delicious and exactly what I ordered. Idk why there are so many bad reviews. Most of the complaints seems to be door dash related or way too high of expectations.

Have order here before many times and have always loved the food. But this time when I introduce my coworkers to it and tell them how wonderful it is the orders are completely off. Orange chicken didnt taste of orange at all like the orange sauce wasnt added to it but everything else was. And ordered pork fried rice but it ordered beef which would be fine but then the meat looked like chicken and the receipt said shrimp. Idk what happened but I'm sad this was my coworkers first impression Of this place

Easily the best Chinese food in Anchorage. It took me years to find a good Americanized-Chinese food in Anchorage that didn't make me sick or taste nasty. This place is where you want to go for the best. All of the dishes I have had from them are delicious; not too soggy or too salty or dry or too sweet like you get at a lot of the other places. The employees are nice to talk to and funny. Also, the food was piping hot when we got home, which is highly unusual and much appreciated. I also feel that you get a good bang for your buck; we got five large dishes for $40. They also deliver. If you're looking for good Chinese take-out, this place will not disappoint.

The service was great. Got the buffet and some items were also great but some, not so much. Hit or miss. The soup was very poor. But they do have an "authentic Chinese menu" with some very unusual-sounding things if you are adventurous!

We ordered dinner from China Town for delivery and it was fantastic! The delivery time was a little over an hour, but it was understandable because they delivered all the way to Muldoon from Government Hill. The portions are big and very reasonably priced. Each one of us have enough leftovers for another meal. I highly recommend the crab cheese won tons. They are the best I have ever had. The people are also very nice.

Loved the vegetable fried rice. My Almond chicken was really good, veggies tasted fresh. It was a big order, I live 7 miles away, and it arrived hot, because they put each individual dish in its own plastic bag.

I am a long term Alaskan and Chinese is one of my favorite cuisines. So I am embarrassed to say that I just discovered China Town Restaurant based on a friend’s strong recommendation and now it is my favorite in Anchorage. No other Chinese restaurant in town even comes close. We went as a family of four and each of dishes was perfect. The food is fresh and the stir fried beans are as good as the one I had in Beijing. If you like Chinese, don’t miss this place even if you are out of the way. You will keep coming back. BTW, the family that runs this place is a class act and service was with a smile.

Probably the best and most authentic Chinese restaurant you'll find in AK - provided you order from their real Chinese menu. It's pretty much a mom and pop style restaurant, but they have been slowly working on remodeling and making the interior nicer. Really nice service too. Pretty much the only place I will go for Chinese in Anchorage. It is on the higher side for prices though. I would recommend eating in, while it's fresh as well.

We went as a big group for a work function, the service was good and the hostess seemed to be keeping up with the whole group when it came to water. But really not much passed that. The food itself for the buffet price 9f 12.50 was good and would go again.

We have eaten here many times while living in anchorage. The food is decently priced for the location and pretty good, unlike a few other places we have ordered take out from. We have only eaten inside at the lunch buffet once. We prefer take out and the convenience of our home. I believe you can order and pick up instead of delivery if that works out for your location and convenience.

My coworkers and I really enjoyed the freeway and great Chinese buffet. The quality was high and pricing was reasonable. Great place! This is somewhere is definitely visit again and recommend to others. It's really a place the whole family can enjoy!

My family has been to the restaurant very frequently during the past 18 years and we love authentic Chinese food. We just learned that the restaurant has a new owner now who has been involved in the business for many years. The new owner has told us recently that they are making a lot of improvements to the business, including replacing old furniture, implementing a new business model that will focus on quality control and enhancing efficiency, and developing new dishes to meet customer demands. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

The food is always tasty when ordering from here, however the delivery service needs to be better. Maybe the to-go boxes need to be better?... Everytime I order delivery, I recieve my order and the inside of the bag is SOAKED in sauce from the stuff I ordered.

My friend found this place online because we were looking for a new place to eat. The both of us was so HAPPY with food and services that we return the very next day for to try a new dish from their menu. We have returned 6 times now and have yet to be disappointed for any reason. Ok, that had to have been the best AUTHENTIC Chinese food ever! We had a ton of different dishes between the 8 of us, I cant even remember all the names. The kung po does have a bit of kick to it! And the steamed pan fried dumplings are the best I've ever had! You've got to try this place, its freaking amazing

This place is amazing when it comes to the dinner and the take out meals. I would not recommend eating in for lunch though. On the weekdays for lunch they serve a buffet that is very limited in selections as well as a bit over priced for such a short amount of food and on the weekends they serve a very limited lunch menu and the portions when eating in are very small. This restaurant is great however and the staff is very willing to work with you to accommodate your needs. I have noticed that they do however only have one working highchair for kids though. It has a great environment and some of the best food I have had and that is not only limited to chinese food. They will have my business as long as I am in anchorage and they do not change their great customer service abilities.

If you haven't been here for a while the whole restrurant got a face lift, very nice and modern. The lunch buffett was good the had about 20 item's all you can eat for $10.50. They now have two private room availible for events, one large for 50ish people and a smaller one for about 10. If they had ice cream I would have give 5 stars.

Everything made in the restaurant is wonderful . unfortunately they dont make everything the serve. My mom ordered sweet and sour shrimp. It was mr's Pauls frozen breaded shrimp. The sad thing is If they had made the shrimp themself it would have been much better. I loved the fried rice !
