Reviews of Bombay Deluxe Indian Restaurant
We had a mixed experience here. Two dishes were fine and one dish was salty. Portions are pretty small and the price is on the higher side.
The staff can be more welcoming.
Path to the restroom is clumsy and sort of demonstrated the unhygienic conditions. Also the raw materials like tomatoes were from Costco cans.
Parking is plenty and shared.
3 stars based on three review criteria 1) establisment, 2) food taste, and 3) customer service
Establishment: needs major improvement. The restaurant feels dated, disorganized and needs better climate control. We were roasting today as the restaurant was hot. I'd say this is my main reason for points deduction. When I went to utilize the restroom you have to watch yourself as the floor is slippery and you have to walk past storage racks and other restaurant equipment. This location is not the beat rwprestation of this quality of food and customer service.
Customer service: excellent! our server was friendly knew the menu very well and was quick to relocate us from our table by the window and radiant heater as we were uncomfortably hot. He quickly opened the door to let some cool air I'm and without hesitation accommodated our request.
Food: DELICIOUS!! I was amazed by the Sampler appetizer. The Vegetable Samosa is heavy, dense, and packed with flavor. Definitely limit yourself to just one! Hahaha. The Vegetable Pakora was tasty, crispy, and perfectly fried. The Chicken Pakoras was cooked to perfection. The chicken was juicy, cooked to perfection. We then ordered the bread basket which we could not out down.. wow!
We then ordered the Lamb Cirry and the Kadai Chicken. We couldn't be more satisfied. The lamb was tender, good amount of meat and sauce, and delicious. The chicken too had amazing flavor.
The desserts left a lot to desire and were subpar.
Clean, beautiful décor matched with lovely East Indian music. Rich, flavorful, culturally authentic food with MANY GLUTEN FREE CHOICES! We had Chicken Makhni & Lamb Saag with Basmati Rice (all GF). My friend had the Butter Naan flat bread (not GF) and she said the texture and flavor was perfect. A little pricey but good portions and great, friendly service. Going back soon! See you there! . . . Almost forgot dessert! Never had anything like Gulab Japan . . . so delicious!! Namaste!
I honestly don’t know what took me so long to try Indian food! We ordered Butter & Garlic Naan bread which were so freaking amazing and also ordered Chicken Vindaloo. My mom and I could not shut up about it because it was just that amazing! Also not pictured but highly recommended is trying their Mango Lassi & Indian Masala Iced Tea 🤤
Delicious food, friendly service. Highly recommend this place for great Indian food.
We ordered Veg Thali and papad. Thali was great- tasted very good, and it could serve 1.5 people. Papad was oily.
Food was priced decently. Veg thali was $25 and it served both of us (we weren't starving).
Also some of the previous reviews said the restroom is not clean. IMO it was actually clean. People who come there also shares responsibility in keeping it clean.
My husband and I visited this place. The staff were friendly and the ambiance was nice. The food is very very very expensive. We ordered chilli garlic naan, regular naan and Panner Tikka Masala curry. The curry was not even full in the bowl it was like 1/6th of the container they served it. The food was good but was disappointed as it was not sufficient for both of us. One more important thing. The prices of the menu online are not updated the food was even expensive than the online prices. When I asked the waitress she mentioned a funny reason that it is difficult to get food in Alaska ( she meant raw goods and groceries) I felt funny when she said that. Overall experience was not good. I do not recommend this place.
I ordered the chicken Tikka masala with a side of naan and it was delicious! I asked them to make it spicy and the heat wasn't too bad. I was very pleased with the service I received from the entire wait staff at the restaurant. They were all very friendly, outgoing, and observant if your in the mood for Indian food, I would highly recommend Bombay Deluxe Indian Restaurant.
Fantastic, flavorful Indian cuisine, clear social distancing rules, and open for dine-in or take out. They no longer are serving their lunch buffet (for now), but their new lunch specials allow you to make a mini-buffet for yourself or to share. They have both vegetarian and vegan options and will customize the spice to suit your tastes. The vibe is cozy and well decorated with wood panels and cultural accents. Server was so kind and the chef was a cool, friendly guy. Seriously, folks, there's nothing but love waiting for you at Bombay. Come get some!
Great place for lunch. We got there around 12:20 pm and it was starting to get very busy. Nice selection of food, and as far as buffets go the food was at the correct temperatures. Very hot. The spice level is mild and all the food was seasoned very well without being over salted. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who enjoys India and its cuisine's.
The food tastes alright and the employees are friendly and welcoming. I got the shrimp Beryani and it has only 6 shrimp and rice enough for at least 3 people. A bit too much for $20.
Amazing staff amrit she was wonderful to serve us. We will come back for more delicious food
I don't understand the bad reviews about how the restaurant is maintained. If the $$ sign skews perception, let me clear it for everyone, it's not a fine dine restaurant. I do understand the reviews about meat being low in briyanis in comparison to the rice.
The food is DELICIOUS! Even for the all-you-can-eat-buffet. For $25/person for the buffet, I think it's worth it. On the day we had our meal, the buffet had badam rice kheer, goat curry, tandoori chicken, veg korma, palak channel and dal makhani. Each dish was better than the other. Food almost tastes homemade and not like it's made in a restaurant. But I mean that in a good way. The naan was soft but not chewy. Would highly recommend eating here.
Excellent service. Food was spicy, flavorful, authentic and lovingly prepared. I felt rude coming in last minute, but even so I did not feel rushed. If I find myself in Anchorage again I will be coming back here- hopefully some time soon!
Daughter came home with to-go box and I tried, it was tasty but I have this chewy chunk and when I removed it from my mouth, I am chewing on a piece of brown cardboard. What was in this to-go box was a pita bread, white rice, beef with tasty sauce and pineapple. It was tasty but.... my appetite was ruined when I discovered I am chewing on a paper. This restaurant is in town for long with great reputation and I love to see businesses that last long. But please keep your staff maintain the Quality, Cleanliness, & Safety of your customers by making sure foods are well-prepared & inspected free from any thing that’s not supposed to be in it or with it. I changed your stars from 2 to 4 at this time. Just wanted to nudge your staff that we do love to come and eat, show us your BEST!
This was such an incredible restaurant! It is one of my favorite Indian restaurants that I have ever been to. The food was awesome, the service was great, and I just loved the place. The food I ordered was the paneer tikka and the malai kofta. They were both wonderful. I loved the kofta especially, it is some of the best I have ever had. The service was awesome. Our waiter was very friendly, and he went above and beyond to make sure our dining experience was worthwhile. He made sure to refill our drinks, waited for an extended period of time while we ordered, and accommodated all of our requests. I was truly amazed! I would definitely reccomend this place.
We visited during lunch time and there was option for a buffet or a la carte. We opted for the latter and ordered Aloo Paratha and Veg Biryani. Both were hot, tasty, & fresh with generous portions. Also the service was quick.
Really enjoyed this meal (ordered the chef's special) and food quality was high. The experience was let down by a only semi-attentive server, generally simple/poor food presentation and utensils.
Was upset when I received my ice cream to take away and ended up with a micro container that was probably a third of a scoop of ice cream.. That was a disappointing end to an otherwise great meal.
Great food, I came here almost everyday for the week that I was in Alaska. The service was a bit long but the food was worth the wait.
Surprisingly good Indian food. I loved the lamb curry. Good with both rice and naan. The paneer tikka masala was not bad - gravy was good, but the paneer was not grilled (not really tikka). Service was good. Atmosphere was quite but nice. Overall, my favorite Indian restaurant in Alaska.
Loved it. Never really ate this type of food but workers were very helpful with suggestions. Will be back.
Bombay Deluxe is a complete package; great food, wonderful seating and lovely music. The food was neither too spicy nor blend. The staff was humble and we got the complete order within 15-20 mins after ordering. I would highly recommend food here if your taste buds are craving for some indian cuisine.
Terrific food! The best tasting Indian have had from all the States and Countries I have been. Thank you for the outstanding service. Keep up the good work and delicious food.
No Chai tea at this Indian restaurant....What?? It's 15 degrees outside. Come on man. Food was good and customer service was good.
I tried indian food for thr first time last week and omg I have no been able to stop thinking about this food since I had it. Literally SO GOOD
Lamb boti kabob, came on a sizzling platter
I went here because it’s the only lunch buffet I could find. I’m newer to anchorage and was craving a variety of Indian food. Staff was friendly and the restaurant has a decent vibe. But the buffet was incredibly limited.
2 chicken dishes, no lamb or goat, no paneer… just a few basic & bland offerings, old rice and Overly soft/ Doughie naan. Food was okay, but nothing special.. something that could be somewhat overlooked if they had more options to pick from. Then to top it all off, they charge $20 for what seems like their best attempt to keep food cost as low as possible.
I know times are tough, and the city isn’t know for its speciality foods. But it just felt unsatisfying and overpriced.
There’s potential here, but they need to atleast try.
I have no frame of reference on their menu items. They could be great, but I won’t be coming back to try.
The weekend lunch buffet is delicious. It's $22 but I haven't come across another buffet that puts goat curry on the buffet. I do wish they had a biryani on the buffet as well, but as is, the options are fantastic. The spinach paneer is especially good.
One of the best Indian restaurants in Anchorage and always a friendly atmosphere. Fast customer service and the staff do a great job attending to every table and their needs, always with a genuine smile! The food is fantastic and the menu is broad with wonderful cuisine options.
Honestly, this place was amazing. The service was good, the food fantastic and come out in a decent time, the place was clean and decently priced considering its alaska. I had the lamb vindaloo and it had a lot meat and potatoes, my wife had the chicken korma and it was amazing.
Rock solid, as always! You really can't go wrong with anything you order off of the menu or grab off of the buffet. I also love their iced tea!
Authentic and so delicious I love the many types of meat on one plate, reminds me of the mixed grill option I enjoy at only a few resteraunts
I love their Lamb Saag! The fresh naan is also amazing. Everything I have ordered at Bombay Express has been delicious. Not an inexpensive place to grab a bite, but serving portions are large enough to share or take home for a second meal. Highly recommended.
Service awesome! Food is the best! Haven't been disappointed yet! Fresh and so good!
Lamb curry was absolutely fantastic and the service was great, the staff is always friendly.
It was good. Nothing extraordinary. Naans were good. Curries were ok. Waitress was nice and took care of our requests and also had a conversation with us.
They have buffet as well on few days and i would like to try that.
Washroom was far and was kept very cold. Thats why 3 star else i would have gone for 4.
Good Indian food. During my 14 days of stay in Alaska, I had visited this place twice when I was done trying Alaskan seafood and when tired after hours of driving. Tandoori dishes were good, and their combination menu was also good. The kitchen is isolated from the dining area, and hence don't have to worry about food smell on your dress, especially when you are traveling/visiting. They also have wines and beer.
I’ve eat quite a few tika masalas in my day and this was outstanding! 10/10Would recommend
Food was excellent. We ordered Mutter paneer, Daal tadka, malai kofta and everything was awesome! Specifically the authentic smoky flavor to the daal was outstanding.
We also ordered Salmon fry which was not on their menu, but that fish was delicious too, thanks chef for serving us that (and you should put that on your menu).
Good Indian food in Anchorage. I believe there are not too many Indian joints... chicken lababdar was good. We ordered 1 veg paneer dish and 1 chicken lababdar among 4 of us with 1 bread basket and it was enough food. Recommend to visit once if craving Indian food.
I have been coming here with my family for nearly 15 years. My parents have lived and traveled all over the world, resulting in a high standard in the food department. This place is truly wonderful, it tastes AMAZING. And you have to get naan. If you don’t get naan you aren’t living life. We get the Lamb Saag and usually a chicken curry or something similar. This restaurant is a must try.
CAREFUL!! CHECK YOUR BILL. They include gratuity for a group of 6 or above and again give you a tipping option. You could end up paying the tip TWICE. The food was good. They have buffet as well.
Food was wonderful! A little expensive but you get what you pay for! You could tell they used good ingredients! Also appreciate the extra effort they put in for Valentine's day; the were Frank flowers on the table and small gifts for patrons. Very nice
Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan with bismati rice. Absolutely beautiful. One of the best Tikka Masalas I've ever had. And King St. Brewery IPA on tap. I won't forget this meal anytime soon. A little expensive. An unfortunate reality for the modern restaurant.
Best food in Alaska. We were on a 10 day road trip and struggling to find good food. This is the best place. Tasty and not unhealthy (no overload of cream). Definitely recommend trying their kadhai paneer and goat curry. The owner and staff are amazing people and we got a chance to interact with them.
Loved the buffet. First time eating Indian food. I am picky and very bland eater.
But, I really loved the food here. I tried a little of each item and could not believe the flavor profiles!
I thought Indian food would be too spicy.
The items marked spicy are as with any cultures food. But, I want to go back again today.
I prefer fruits and veggies and it seems like not much variety offered with my diet choice.
I found a tasteful solution here.
I really enjoy the food at Bombay. I’ve tried other Indian food that is not nearly as tasty as it is here. I am thankful to the staff who always make me feel welcome and provide delicious food.
We had to wait 45 minutes to get our food.We had kids with us 😔So if u are in hurry do not go this place. We ordered Nan and shrimp curry it was very good. The lamb biriyani had no flavor and the meat was not tender. And had to request for Raita .we ordered Thali also, was not great either .The servers were very pleasant. …
I've been satisfying my taste buds at Bombay Deluxe for over 30 years...since the original owner/founder. My family, friends and I have found the meals to be consistently delicious, to this day. The seasonings are perfectly balanced. I like very spicy food, no problem at Bombay deluxe. Mild and flavorful is also available. The staff have always been attentive and pleasant.
I've traveled much and sampled Indian food in many locations. Can think of only one superior experience. 3-4 years ago I was at Bombay D seated nearby a table of Indian folks in traditional attire. It was summer and they were visitors to the state. We conversed prior to the meal, nice people! Afterwards I asked them for their input on Bombay Deluxe and they were a very enthusiastically thumbs up. There you have it, enjoy...or miss out.
Authentic. The Naan selection was great and cooked so nice. The curry was very very good. They have Alaskan brewing. Dim lit and mellow yet fancy vibe. Great for date night and prices are fair. We shared a naan basket and 1 veg. Curry and filed up easily.
*Edit* we get the veggie Koftas every time + lentil soup spiced*
Great tasting food with a blend of right spices. Highly recommended for anyone wanting to enjoy good Indian food.
Not too bland and boring though they can temper it down for people wanting low spicy food.
The servings are quite generous, curry comes with an accompaniment of white rice.
It has a nice rustic settings, loved the interiors. There is ample parking in front of the restaurant.
So, we went there because of the excellent reviews we saw on Google but food was kind of okay..We ordered aloo paratha and chicken biryani. Was surprised that aloo paratha was neither served with pickle or curd. You have to pay and order those separately. They do serve lunch buffets but nothing looked appealing.. Not the best place for Indian food in Anchorage.
Excellent food! First impression looks a little dingy but don't let that scare you away. The food is flavorful and there's a good quantity. At lunch they have a buffet as well. Service is great and I see a lot of Indians come here so I'm assuming it's authentic, although I've never been to India so I can't verify that.
Really nice place. Daal and naan was so good. Salmon masala was ok, a bit pricey for a small salmon
This my absolute favorite place to eat. I go at least 5 times a year.
It is a casual and comfortable place to go.
All employees are friendly and willing to do whatever it takes to meet your needs.
The food is one of a kind. Solid 5 !!!
We live in Wasilla and have now on two separate occasions driven an hour one way just to pick up food from Bombay Deluxe. The food is that good! Their menu has amazing selection and they provide great service. Definitely recommend.
If you're craving authentic indian food, go here. They're really good I've only dined in once i wasn't a huge fan of that but I've been real happy with the to go orders. I love there palak paneer here and their naan is good. The chicken tikka masala is delicious as well.
Considering that it is located in Alaska, Bombay Deluxe is a decent Indian restaurant. All of the food we ordered (Naan, Aloo Gobi, Navratan Korma) was tasty. I only have two complaints: 1. The food took a LONG time to arrive (around 30 minutes) and 2. The Aloo Gobi and Navratan Korma looked identical but they are supposed to be completely different in color and consistency.
Solid food, very authentic food at this location surprised to find such a great flavor and taste here in Alaska. Definitely recommend will be back again. Love the naan!
Bombay Deluxe is beyond wonderful! I do not live in Alaska but I travel there several times a year. I'm usually there for a week or 2 and will come to Bombay Deluxe several times. I have NEVER had a bad dish there. When I was there a few weeks ago I had a desire to have Tandoori Shrimp and Shrimp Masala. Neither were on the menu. Chef Bigyan went out of his way to prepare them for me and OMIGOSH... it was incredible. When I was a Vegetarian for more than a year, Bombay Deluxe was my go-to restaurant. So many wonderful dishes to choose from. I hope you'll trust me and go! You'll be glad you did!
Great food. The lunch buffet is an excellent deal and a great way to try different things. Buying entrees separately is pretty pricey and the beers are expensive as well. I will only come here for lunch from now on. Unfortunately the booth chairs are uncomfortable and the booth tables are permanently sticky and they could use an updating. Service is good and they are attentive. Overall the food is worth repeat visits.
Excelente Indian food. The location and look is deceiving the food is amazing and the restaurant is very clean…
Food is good & the lunch buffet is a good deal too. Recommend stopping by here to eat if you haven't yet. -- If you are unfortunate enough to have the genetics that makes cilantro taste horrible (e.g. like soap), be careful about ordering from here. It is hit or miss if cilantro will be left out of your food if you request it. Now, if you love cilantro then you have no worries!! 3 stars due to several order mistakes over multiple visits. Food is good enough that we still go back!
This is a bench mark Indian food experience for Anchorage. The dinner menu includes all the classics and there product is consistently good. What I discovered today was the very affordable lunch buffet! Unbeatable for the price. Service was prompt and professional. The booths are well worn but tall, allowing for privacy. A great place for a lunch meeting!
They have an entire vegan menu! That's amazing! And the food was delicious! Servers seemed kind of annoyed at our ignorance on Indian food though. And I was severely disappointed to see that they use styrofoam to-go containers. That stuff is so much harder on the environment than cardboard. :(
While the buffet is small, it is totally worth it. Great food, wonderful service at a fair price. Would definitely recommend trying it. The staff is very attentive and friendly.
I have been there few times. The restaurant is clean they always have buffet, the food is well cooked, the staff are nice and it is cheap. They also serve halal items; i asked once and the chef came and told me which items are halal and which are not. On the other hand the food is not spicy enough it is less than mild. I wish they would make it spicier.
So yummy. The buffet wasn't huge but very good and absolutely delicious. So appreciate lamb was served. Excellent hot sauce to spice it up too. Courteous and accommodating service. Lovely people, wonderful food.
I stopped here for lunch with a friend. We couldn't decide what to get, so we went with the buffet bar. We got to sample a lot of different foods. Traditional Indian food and seasonings. Quite delicious. And next door you can stop in to the little Korean market and find some really cool treats not available anywhere else.
Delicious indian food. We ordered malai kofta and daal makhni. We did not waste even a bite of these dishes. We ordered malai kofta again from here during our 8 days trip in Alaska. It's a must try.
I was craving some Indian food while I was in Anchorage and this place came up. Upon arrival my mind was almost changed by the look of the outside, I decided to give it a chance but the inside was worse. I figured since this place had a lunch buffet that the food would suck, but I was wrong. Our waitress recommended the naan bread and it's a good thing she did cause we absolutely loved it. The food was yummy, prices were below what we are used to paying, and our waitress was lovely.
Food is very good and tasty! Everything we ordered did not disappoint. Staff is friendly and one thing I noticed which I do like is their menus were clean, with no dirty finger marks or food splashes. Water tasted good also, did not have chlorine aftertaste. Will definitely be back.
I was here for Lunch, this is the second Indian restaurant I tried in Anchorage. They have a buffet for Lunch. It’s a very small place.
While the food taste was okay but the choices in the buffet are limited for the amount they charged. I felt they could added one rice item like Biriyani or Pulav along with one more starter.
Let’s be clear, I love Bombay Deluxe. I’ve been a long time customer, have dined with you many many times over the years and am seldom disappointed. Unfortunately these last couple times I’ve eaten with you my experience has been less than stellar. My most recent order of the chana masala was so unbearably salty I could not take two bites, I had to toss it. I will keep coming back, and am giving a higher rating because I know the kind of food and service you’ve provided me in the past.
Solid but super busy. We waited an hour for take out because they could not seat us. BUT, much improved over last time this vindaloo moved me and was a solid 3.5
The food was tasty and hot. The service was great along with the staff being very attentive to our needs. A very enjoyable lunch.
Delicious! I would do the buffet if so you have all of the different choices, however I would order a fresh order of that delicious flat bread they make for dipping. No substitute for the fresh stuff. Wonderful decor, a few outside seats and great service. The smells alone make me hungry!
I used to love coming here. The food and service was always great and the waiter and waitress remembered me. Now I come and the service is slow and not as friendly. I ordered the chicken makhni, medium. And it came out less than mild. Naan bread was also greasy and it’s never been that way before. Ever since they opened the other location things seem to have gone downhill. It’s also super hot in the restaurant.
Best Indian food in town. Also the best Chicken Tikka Masala I’ve ever had. You have to try the garlic naan. This place is a little pricier than average but worth it.
Price went up $5. Now $25 for the lunch buffet. No prices listed.
We loved the chicken Tikka lababdaar. The bread basket was excellent too. Would highly recommend going to if you're in Anchorage.
My husband and I eat at Bombay Deluxe regularly and now there is Bombay South we have enjoyed the food there too. After a long day it is awesome to be greeted by friendly faces and relaxing atmosphere and to watch the videos. I cannot wait until South has videos to relax and eat to as well.
Best Indian restaurant in Anchorage. Anchorage has great food and this place it one that upholds that standard of good food and great customer service. I would give it another star if it was a little cheaper, but I'm not complaining because the food is so good. The buffet on the week days is a really good deal. Don't forget the Mango lasi!
I had the chicken masala which was excellent. The appetizers were a bit greasy, but otherwise good. For a family restaurant I thought the price was a little high, but they do serve generous portions and refilled our rice platter a couple times so I can overlook that.
We order veg thali and some fritters(pakoda) .the food was good..
Visiting from Florida. Looked for an Indian food restaurant online. Saw the reviews and decided to visit. Meanwhile as we were waiting for Uber, 2 locals said it had great food. Excellent authentic cuisine! Super clean restaurant. The staff was friendly and explained everything about the menu. I would definitely recommend this restaurant!!! 🙌
Great place for your Indian food fix. Buffet is reasonably priced and has a decent selection of dishes to fill most folks cravings. Lots of vegetarian options but some savory, meaty ones as well.
I would give 5 stars for the delicious food, but prices have steadily increased for the last few years, and are now quite high. Delivery service is nice. Lunch buffet is a good way to try something you wouldn't normally order.
A coworker and I were craving Indian food and she came up with a brilliant idea to order from Bombay. Lucky for us THEY DELIVER :) They were here in a hour with everything we ordered (we ordered a lot) nice and warm still. LOVED IT!
Great food in Anchorage with good service. Worth it.
Decent food! Probably the only Indian restaurant open around Anchorage on Sundays. Do not have high expectations when you visit this restaurant.
Cons: Expect long wait times. When the restaurant is full, you order some desert here, they straight away say NO, and then you ask another waitress for the same dish, she brings it in.
Beware when you say extra spicy ! It's freaking hot.
Really good food, but seemed like a long wait to order and then to get our order. Also, the server or food runner, accidentally brought our food to another table before taking it all off thier table and bringing it to ours. There was a large party dining, maybe just a busy night.
We were craving for Indian food during our Alaskan vacation and found this place absolutely great... Very tasty food and friendly service... The mall they are in looks a bit run down but ignore that and the insides are great and food is amazing...👍 …
Had the buffet, the food tasted great and was fresh. The service was great as well. Plates were cleared from the table nearly as soon as I cleared the food from them myself. Loved the atmosphere. We will return.
My favorite restaurant for Indian food, it has a great deal in it's weekday lunchtime buffet. I really enjoy going to a late lunch on Fridays as they have delicious Chicken Tika Masala and other great delicacies.
Met a friend at this restaurant... very impressed with both the food and the service. I can't wait for date night, I'll be treating my sweetie to Bombay Deluxe!
great indian food. tasted authentic for the most part. perhaps the most expensive indian food i have had not a Michelin.
I love this place! The Chicken Tikka Masala is my favorite entree, and I also love having Naan bread when I go there. They also have waifer-like items (I am sorry that I cannot remember the name) that are great with a dipping sauce.
Loved the food. We ordered tadka dal, kadhai paneer and goat curry. The food was fresh, less oily and seemed homemade.
I have friends from Andhra Pradesh and this food reminds me of their cooking. It isn't exact, but it's similar enough to make it comparable. I've dined in and carried out and though their "hot" isn't all that hot to me, the flavor is phenomenal. I only have two months left in Anchorage and I will definitely return here.
Buffet is good value for money.
If you don't like sweet avoid vegetable that has white gravy it is likely to be sweet in taste.
If you don't like spicy food avoid red gravy vegetables.
If you want to have medium spicy chose yellowish gravy
Good buffet, lots of veggie options. The vegetable Korma is a sweet one, but very tasty. Bathrooms are clean and has a changing table (at least in the ladies room).
Good food... But be careful about your desired level of spiciness... We ordered "medium", just like every other Indian restaurant, but we were barely able to eat it, without gulping down gallons of water!!!
the food here is delicious. I got the chicken tiki masala and loved it. the food was a lot we took a lot home. service was ok a little confusing because they didnt really have a server and it seemed the hostess was doing everything.
Don't know where my review of here went, but a geeat establishment.
Had a hot combo dinner paired with salted Lassi, my lord they played off of each other perfectly. Never a bad time here. Meet, relax, fill your face with every inch of this place. I hope it never goes out of business
One of the only places offering indian food. I'm from Bay area & we have a lot of options here for indian food. IMO there food was really good and the service was fast as well. Food felt closer to birthday indian food and we ordered the chole and Kadhai paneer both of which were pretty close to what you get in India. A bit on the expensive side but I guess makes sense due to limited options there.
Good place for some hot dal makhani and naan. Not a fan of their buffet but some of their dishes taste amazing. Especially the dal makhani.
50/50 carry out or dine in for me. The lunch buffet is a bargain. The food is consistently prepared the same. You can get any degree of spice you want. The chiken tikka marsala is one of my favorites.
Wonderful restaurant with friendly and helpful staff. Chefs special and chicken pakoras are the way to go! Highly recommended!
Found a groupon while visiting and let me just tell you, this was wonderful! I picked up a meal to bring home and there was so much food! Plus, though I am not Indian, it seemed to me to be quite authentic!
I usually get the chicken vindaloo with naan when I come here and it's always great! However, the garlic naan, while very tasty, is a bit overpriced.
Took over 1.5 hours to deliver. Decent food. The veggie pakoras was mostly potato pakoras. The prawn curry was tasty. Rice was free. Naan was big and soft.
Really good food. My only gripe is the price. Expect to pay $22-$28 just for your main dish. Don't forget the really tasty NAAN breads. O yea, those are expensive too.
Best Indian in Anchorage. Excellent goat curry and great biryani!
We had a wonderful meal! We ordered takeout - palak paneer, naan, chicken korma, mango chutney, and for dessert, mango lassi. Everything was PERFECT...and the naan? It was huuuuge...bigger than a dinner plate huge! Thank...and we will be back!
Nice atmosphere. I liked the tall booths and the Indian tv was fun to watch. The service was a little slow but well worth the wait. The kabobs were delicious.
Great Indian food, make sure you go there with an appetite. They also have a buffet there, but it is only till 3 o'clock. They also have good customer service as well.
Came here directly from the airport, not knowing what to expect since we are from New Jersey..
Enjoyed the food, good service. Garlic naan actually was galicy.. Dal makhani and paneer tikka masala were quite good as well..
Best Indian food in Anchorage. Not the best I've ever had but definitely the best in Anchorage. I thought the service was awesome and the ingredients were fresh. I will be back!
LOVE Bombay Deluxe. The food is wonderful and everyone who works there is so friendly. I always refer friends here and brought my family when they were in town. Great place.
I love their shrimp bhuna masala. Being an indian if you get flavors of india its such an awesome feeling. One must also try the samosa, raita and papad.
Good food! Our first time to try indian food and we liked it. They also have a very good customer service.
Been a while since I've had some authentic Indian food. Meal was spot on prices need some work but didnt leave disapointed.
I love this place, food is so good every time. Nice atmosphere, I like the Bollywood type of music videos they have playing. Heat customer service as well.
Their food is incredible. Always so full of flavor. Our favorites are the Mattar Paneer & the Tikka Masala Paneer. My kids love this place too!
Good authentic food. Could better but overall good.
I recommend it.
The food was decent but damn expensive compared to other restaurants..
I had the lunch buffet. The rice tasted a bit off and the chicken in the chicken curry was VERY dry, but the Saag was good and the service was fine.
Good food and service, but the place is a dive. Must be a local hangout.
This is our first visit to Bombay Deluxe, I promise it's not the last!
Everything is Awesome! Service is perfec t.
Just a great dinning experience
Very delicious Indian food. A little in the spendy side but worth it. Do NOT even go there if you are on a diet.
Very pleasant atmosphere and the staff are great.
We ended up going there twice in an 10 days tour whenever we were in town. They have good food and service.
I love to meet people at Bombay Deluxe for lunch. The food is fantastic, the buffet has something for everyone, service is fast, and the booths are perfect for talking.
Food here was so good I couldn't stop eatting it even though my mouth was on fire and I was full. Love that they have show Indian T.V. server was very pleasant.
I recently moved here from Houston Texas where there was a very large community and a large culture that serves this kind of food I had the hardest time finding some but this is absolutely amazing the best food I've had out here yet
Yum!! Great menu food. Buffet is ok, veggie Korma is delicious. though, chicken tikki masala isn't on the buffet menu everyday...
Offers table service as well as a buffet with several choices. Central location in Midtown makes it easy to find. Sadly, it isn't as good as it used to be -- really more like a 2.75 than a 3.
generally very good, even the lunch buffet that is kept pretty fresh and very reasonable, though spiced for the crowd and not normal heat levels
My entire family loves this place, including my very picky Husband who usually only eats burgers and fries. I "dragged" him there to have dinner with my parents, and ever since we went he begs me to go.
Wholesome food. Everything tasted fresh and well made. Good vegetarian options in the lunch specials.
Fantastic place for a quick, quality lunch. The buffet is delicious and has a great sampling of Indian cuisine.
Good food, good service. The buffet is ok. It's better to just order off the menu. Paneer tika masala and mattar paneer are my favorites. Don't forget the naan!!!
Great Indian food at a fantastic price. I prefer Bombay to the other Indian places in town. Staff is friendly and professional!
I generally don't care to review places, but Bombay deserves it. The parking is bad but not their fault. Food is a bit expensive, but I feel worth it.
Very good taste. We have good options for vegetarian also. The staff are also nice.
The lunch buffet has great tasting food, and make a it easy to grab a quick bite when you don't necessarily have time to lolligag.
Excellent spice and food portions, somewhat tired booths and tables, but still a really good dining experience. It is the food you will go back for, anyway!
Great food but takeout time is really long. Came in they told me 15 more mins came back 20 mins later and still had to wait another 20 minutes
This place has good food. Over the years they have been consisting in offering the same taste on their dishes with no flops.
The most authentic Indian food, and atmosphere. They have Bollywood music videos playing in the background, and excellent delivery service
We eat indian food in Alaska lots of places but this place food is really delicious
Loved it! The food was filled with the right combination of spices and the staff was very attentive.
Such amazing Indian food, and they are not afraid to feed you. My fiance and I had leftovers to take home and we can put away some food.
Excellent food and great service. Rahul was amazing
I had delivery to the Quality Inn. the food is fresh. So happy with my purchase. Such good customer service..Thank You
The food was awesome!
Love the choices and the staff explained anything I asked about. The female that helped up was a darling!
Friend and i went here for lunch. I am not a fan of Indian food..I was surprised how good this was. Giveit a try..Don't pass it by.
Really nice food. Enjoyed Daal Makhani, rice, aaloo Paratha, raita. Much much better than Namaste Shangrila. Visit this place for better Indian food.
Fantastic Indian food, good curry, and a friendly wait staff make this place good. But the dog friendly patio makes it great to visit.
I like the food, but lately I’ve been ordering take out and they don’t provide a fork or a big enough contain to pour the sauce on the rice...
Can't say enough good things. Delicious food great service. My first stop to eat everytime I go to Anchorage!
Some stuff is good like chicken makhani, lamb biryani, chicken Tikka Masala, Mattar paneer and now even their samosa's(they changed the way they cooked samosas).
Incredible Indian food, so happy I tried it. Service is a bit slow, but worth every second!
The Samusa is not upto the mark.
Roti is ok
The side dish despite our telling to apply less mirch , they do not listen .
Food from the menu is great. Would love the buffet more if chicken tikki masala was available everyday.
Tasty food. Good quality. Meat was tender. Sauce was mild as ordered. Love this place.
Very good food and a relaxed atmosphere
Best Indian food in Anchorage. Hands down. Their lunch buffet is also an excellent choice for lunch.
Delicious and filling. Prices seem high but I feel they are fair considering portion size and the home made food.
I had the palek paneer and my husband the lamb korma. Both were delicious. I strongly recommend.
Food is quality, fresh premium ingredients, and very authentic. The staff are very polite and friendly..i come here often for these reasons.
Food is nice, Buffet is available
Good option for Vegetarian foodies
Very nice waitress we got the buffet. The facilities are a little run down. But welcome to Anchorage.
Love this place, Palak Paneer and Vegetable Samosa. They mint chutney is awesome.
Love the chicken makni and naan!
I was wholly unimpressed with the lunch buffet, but I've ordered takeout from here many times and it's always good.
I liked this place because it has a variety of thing and there yogurt drinks are the bomb but im kinda picky but I'm sure that lots of you other people may like it!!!!!!
Just go to Nameste Shangrila, food is still just as good but a bit cheaper. Not a fan of spending almost twice as much money for the same food.
Great main course ! Pista kulfi was really bad but they exchanged it for mango kulfi which turned out to be really good. Pretty good overall !
I only get the chicken tikka masala, veggie samosas and garlic naan. It's always awesome and the service is friendly enough.
Good portions...savory and spicy enough
Amazing atmosphere and food!!!
Waitress was one of the best I have seen load's of manners, very cheap for really good food
The food was delicious!
Good food. Went twice. Friendly and quick service.
Best Indian food I've ever had. The chicken tika masala is fantastic.
My favorite place to get Tikka Masala. Keep your eyes open though folks, the building has been shut down for structural damage.
We went there the staff was nice and helpful. The food was amazing I hope to go back again when we can.
Love this restaurant. Always a good time with my son and I. Good food, good service.
Tikka masala is great, the vindaloo needs a bit more vinegar, great spice, cozy place and smells great.
Authentic Cuisine this is a great place for lunch. The buffet is very good & reasonably priced
Average buffet with decent choices. Not many kinda restaurants in Anchorage, glad this one is around.
The best Indian food in town! We've loved everything we've tried.
I love this place this is the first time I ever tried Indian food and it was amazing
Too good.

Wonderfully spiced foods and good customer service. We can't get enough of their curried lentils!
Awesome food! Be sure to try the paneer kulcha and the chicken makhni.
Very good Indian food at Alaska. Try vegetarian Korma which is the best here.
Very good food, lovely staff who are extremely attentive, very authentic atmosphere.
I went here to pick up an order for Uber Eats. Didn't eat here, but friendly staff.
It was alright. Wish they had a better buffet selection. Very small buffet

Good food, little pricey and the building almost looks vacant, but worth the visit.
Visited yesterday for dinner. Nothing special, poor service, served rotis with butter whereas we ordered for without butter.
This is the first place I ever had Indian food and it was a love at first sight.
