Hands down, best food in this city (Anchorage)! It’s fine dining, but even more so it’s an experience. With every bite, I found myself in a tranquil sense of aw and amazement. Just unbelievable how the flavors melt in your mouth, and are so mindfully put together to make these dishes. I’ve been twice now, and it does not disappoint. My date and I agree that it’s the best meal we’ve ever had.

The best food in Anchorage!!! Maybe best meal I’ve ever had. Both of our meals were incredible. Interesting flavors and cooked so well. The atmosphere is a little cheesy but don’t let it lead you astray. The service was also excellent. 100% recommend.

Long time Alaskan (ANC), first time here. The food and service was very good. Nice selection of wine, by bottle & glass. Ambience was a bit spare for my taste, I didn't care for the table we were seated at near the entry, and the menu items were pretty pricey, but overall I really liked this place.

Creative takes on incredible food, every dish cooked/served to perfection. The wine list was expansive and the server had the best recommendations for pairings. Fine dining at its best

I had a fantastic experience in Altura on a Sunday night for a dinner. Being 1 h in the city and first time in Alaska , i am so grateful that I stopped by this place.
The whole experience is great from front lady who seated me, to Cary who gave spot on suggestions on food, wine pairing and just a very nice person to talk to!
Highlight from the menu for me is prawns bisque-tasted like nothing I’ve tried before!
Will definitely come back here!

20/10! The food and service were the best I've ever been to. This is a very busy place, but we never felt like we were neglected. We had asked for the brussel sprout appetizer without cilantro, and when I usually get scuff for it, it wasn't an issue at all! It was responded warmly to "who has the soap taste gene?" When the waiter suggested the soup, he also suggested splitting it between me and my fiance, so we both could have a taste & he brought it to us in two separate bowls.
We ordered the brussel sprouts appetizer, the sweet prawn bisque, wagyu ribeye, filet mignon.

The food was "ok" not the best nor was it the worst.
The halibut seemed a little small, but it wasn't bad, it probably be better charcoal grilled.
The shrimp was not bad, the thing it sat on tasted almost like tofu.
The steak was ok, I wasn't so impressed, out of the 3 I'd go for the steak.

Overall: 4.6/5 (dine in)
We had a reservation at 7:30 PM so were seated within a few minutes. Our server, Logan, explained the specials of the day as soon as we were seated and handed the menu since these aren't on the menu itself.
He also made great red & wine recommendations for our dinner - Louis Jadot Pouilly Fuisse ($14) & Shea, Pinot Noir ($13). Note that there's a 5% alcohol tax.
Pork Belly ($17): This tasted like Vietnamese braised pork belly with a bit of a twist. The sauce & the texture was very interesting and different that it was a bit mind boggling. It's really good with the green sauce as well. My husband said this is one of the best pork belly he's had and he's eaten a lot.
Sweet Prawn Bisque ($12): This was really good but it was a bit too salty & heavy for me. I felt like I needed to eat it with bread or have it diluted.
Duck Pate ($28): Wow, this was super unique and delicious with the thin bread it came with. The red onion marmalade with mustard seed was divine and went well with the duck pate and bread. It was so good, my husband was eating it by the spoonful. We did get pretty full from it but it was worth it.
Seared Foie Gras ($24): I didn't enjoy the taste of texture of this foie gras. It was too much for me so I could only eat a little piece with bread. Definitely something you can skip, especially if you have the duck pate.
Alaskan Black Cod ($42): This had great reviews on Yelp but it tasted terrible to us. The cod was too fishy that we couldn't even finish it. The dumplings were actually better than the cod sadly. Super disappointed after being so excited to try Alaskan seafood.

The service was friendly and unhurried. The food was beyond fabulous- We were a party of 2, with a reservation @ 5pm. We arrived about 10 minutes early, and we were seated immediately. The server checked in with us, took our drink order & went over the menu with us. He made sure to give us time to chat & look over the menu & he made some great suggestions.
Appetizer: We started with the fresh oysters, and pork belly - the oysters were so fresh & sweet, and the pork belly had a wonderfully sweet bbq sauce, which was cut perfectly by the pickled onion garnish.
Salad: I chose the Fenel & Orange salad, and my guest chose the Squash Salad. The combination of feta, orange & fennel I just couldn't get enough of.
Main Course: I chose the scallops and risotto, which a side of the mushroom gnocchi. My guest chose the boneless wagyu ribeye, medium rare. The wagyu was amazing & the scallops were savory & delicious. The star however was the seasonal mushroom gnocchi- Wow!
Dessert: We finished with a lovely Port that our waiter suggested, accompanied by the Pear Clafoutis, and the earl grey Creme Brule. I'm not usually a dessert person, but these desserts were worth the splurge.
Can't wait to come back again!

We had a party of 4. 2 adults & 2 kids. The menu is fine dining & I didn't expect a kids menu. 1 kid was a bit picky but single parents need to eat someplace nice every once in a while too so I bought the kids. We were given water as soon as we were seated. Then they brought out bread & basil butter as we waited for our food. We ordered duck, steak, king crab mac & cheese, & hailbut. Our drinks were ginger ale and grape fruit soda. Everything was cooked well. Each protein entrée had at least 1 side that was a veggie & rice or potatoes. The duck and steak were medium rare like we ordered. All the food was seasoned very well. The veggies added texture to the plates. The presentation was nice. The chip on top of the duck was a bit strange and unnecessary. Overall, we had pretty good service. The server asked if anyone had allergies which was good because we had 1 person in our party with a peanut allergy. There was a mix up with our check and that was the one negative thing but they corrected it after it was noticed. The desserts we great. We ordered banana cake & London fog creme brulee. The kids loved it.
